  • Although Gordon Ramsay's exact net worth is unknown, he is estimated to be a multimillionaire.
  • Ramsay has over 80 restaurants worldwide and stars in several hit shows on Fox.
  • He also has other business ventures, including wine and frozen-food lines.

With numerous Michelin stars and several TV shows, British chef Gordon Ramsay has cemented himself as one of the most well-known celebrities in the food scene.

The 58-year-old's success in the restaurant and entertainment industries has made him millions. Although his net worth isn't confirmed, Forbes estimated he was worth $70 million as of 2020.

Forbes also ranks Ramsay as No. 19 among the world's highest-paid celebrities, although it's unclear when the list was last updated.

From his projects as a chef to his career as a television personality, here's a breakdown of the empire Ramsay has built.

Ramsay started his career as a chef.

At 19, in the 1990s, Ramsay began his career apprenticing under famous chef Marco Pierre White.

By 1993, Ramsay was the head chef at the London restaurant Aubergine, and he'd go on to earn the restaurant two Michelin stars.

In 1998, he founded Gordon Ramsay Restaurants with the opening of his first eatery. Today, the company has more than 80 restaurants around the world β€” many of which have continued to garner acclaim.

In 2001, Ramsay's flagship restaurant, Gordon Ramsay, received a three-star Michelin rating, which it still holds today. Most recently, his Restaurant 1890 in London earned its first Michelin star in February.

However, not all of his restaurants are fine-dining establishments. Ramsay also owns casual eateries like Street Pizza and Street Burger, along with Gordon Ramsay Burger β€” which has locations in the United States, Canada, Qatar, South Korea, and more.

Although it's unclear how much Ramsay makes from his restaurants, Fortune reported in 2023 that his restaurants had brought in Β£95.6 million (about $119.8 million at that time) that year.

Television is one of the food star's big sources of income.

Ramsay's first introduction to television was on the British documentary series "Boiling Point" in 1999. He went on to judge and host British shows like "The F-Word," "Hell's Kitchen," and "Kitchen Nightmares."

His foray into American television began in 2005 with the US debut of "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox. The US version of "Kitchen Nightmares" followed, debuting in 2007.

From there, he's starred on many other shows and has appeared as a judge on several competitive cooking series on Fox. Perhaps most notably, he's served as a judge on "MasterChef" throughout its 14 seasons. He also judges "MasterChef Jr." and "Next Level Chef."

Although it's not clear what Ramsay has been paid for his shows and appearances, Forbes reported in 2020 that his shows generated more than $150 million yearly in ad sales for the Fox network.

One of his shows has inspired a series of restaurants.

In 2018, Ramsay began opening Hell's Kitchen restaurants based on the series of the same name. There are now seven locations across the US in cities like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and DC.

The flagship restaurant in Las Vegas is one of Ramsay's highest-rated US restaurants. It also took the No. 3 spot on Yelp's list of the most photographed restaurants of 2024.

It's not clear how much revenue the Hell's Kitchen restaurants bring in, but the Las Vegas location sold 129,554 beef Wellingtons and 135,000 sticky toffee puddings β€” two signature Ramsay dishes β€” in its first year alone, according to Forbes.

The chef has also launched a cooking school.

His first and only cooking school, Gordon Ramsay Academy, opened in September 2021 in Woking, England. Gordon Ramsay Academy offers hundreds of cooking courses for all ages and skill levels.

Classes range from Β£70 (or about $90) for half-day and junior classes to Β£485 (or about $615) for full-day courses that offer qualifications.

A second location is set to open in London in 2025.

Ramsay also has a few product lines, including a wine label and frozen foods.

Further expanding his food empire, the celebrity chef also has a few product lines.

In 2023, he launched By Chef Ramsay, a frozen-food line sold exclusively at Walmart. The collection includes some of Ramsay's favorite dishes, such as shepherd's pie and fish and chips.

He also launched a Gordon Ramsay wine label in 2021.

The line was also featured on his show "Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars" β€” a reality competition where he offered to invest $250,000 of his own money into entrepreneurship. On it, he and TV personality Lisa Vanderpump served as judges

In 2021, Fox Entertainment and Ramsay launched Studio Ramsay Global, which produces several of the chef's shows, including Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares," "Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars," and "Next Level Chef."

It also produces shows starring other chefs, like National Geographic's "No Taste Like Home."

Before this, in 2016, he'd launched the production company Studio Ramsay in the UK. It produced projects like "Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours To Hell and Back," "The F-Word Live With Gordon Ramsay," and "Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted."

In 2024, he partnered with Fox to launch Bite.

Ramsay and Fox Entertainment joined forces in 2024 to launch Bite, a global food brand and platform offering a range of culinary content, products, and experiences.

The brand's digital and social content hub, Bite Digitial Network, features multiple original series, such as "Idiot Sandwich" β€” a digital culinary competition series based on Ramsay's viral meme.

He's made several other investments and has had a range of partnerships throughout the years.

Among his numerous business ventures, Ramsay has partnered and invested in several brands.

He invested in HexClad in 2021 β€” and, in July 2024, Studio Ramsay Global agreed to invest $100 million in the cookware brand.

In 2023, Ramsay joined Borealis Foods, a food tech company, as a shareholder, advisor, and brand ambassador. In September 2024, he also partnered with THOR Kitchen to launch an exclusive line of kitchen appliances.

He could also be making money from his social following.

At the time of writing, Ramsay has 40.8 million followers on TikTok and 21 million subscribers on YouTube β€” so social media could be another source of income for the chef.

In addition to clips from his hit Fox shows and various miniseries, Ramsay's YouTube channel and TikTok account feature him cooking with celebrities like Matthew McConaughey and Selena Gomez.

The chef continues to expand his restaurant and entertainment empires.

The chef is slated to open his first Ramsay's Kitchen restaurants in Virginia later this year and one in North Carolina in 2025.

Additionally, Ramsay has plans to open five new culinary experiences in one of London's tallest office buildings in 2025.

He also announced his show "Kitchen Nightmares" is set to return with a new season in January.

I tried Gordon Ramsay's 15-minute sausage Bolognese pasta. Now, my family makes it for dinner every week.

I love making Gordon Ramsay's sausage Bolognese when I'm craving pasta for dinner.

Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course/Channel 4

  • One of my favorite pasta recipes is Gordon Ramsay's tagliatelle with sausage-meat Bolognese.
  • The recipe requires just a few ingredients and only takes 15 minutes to make.
  • Ramsay's pasta dish is super comforting and reminds me of my favorite Italian restaurant.

When my family and I stumbled upon "Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course," we had no idea we were about to discover one of our favorite weekly pasta recipes.

The series β€” which first aired in the UK in 2012 β€” follows Ramsay as he demonstrates 100 essential recipes for the home chef.

The dish that excited us most was a 15-minute tagliatelle with sausage Bolognese. Here's how to make it.

Gordon Ramsay's 15-minute tagliatelle with sausage Bolognese requires five main ingredients.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

To whip up this delicious dish, you'll need:

  • Dried tagliatelle pasta
  • Sausages (Ramsay recommends fennel or Sicilian)
  • Tomatoes
  • Half an onion
  • A few cloves of garlic

If you can't find tagliatelle at your local supermarket, pappardelle always makes for a great substitute.

I always start this dish by chopping onions, garlic, and parsley.

One of the best parts about this dish is that there's barely any prep. It takes me about five minutes or less to prepare everything before I start cooking.

While Italian parsley isn't part of Ramsay's recipe, I love adding it if I have any lying around. The herb brightens all the flavors and brings a bit of freshness and color to the dish.

I also diced some tomatoes.

You can halve or dice your tomatoes, depending on your preference.

Anneta Konstantinides/Insider

One thing I love about this dish is how easily it can be adapted to your preferences β€” and what you can find in the supermarket. On this night, I used cocktail tomatoes, which have a juiciness that works great in the Bolognese sauce.

Before I start cooking, I also prep my sausage for the sauce.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

You need to peel the casings from the sausages before crumbling the meat. Ramsay recommends slicing each sausage down the middle to help remove the skin.

After putting my pasta into a pot of well-salted boiling water, I throw my onions into a pan.

To avoid burning the onions, I let them cook for a few minutes before adding the garlic and parsley.

Then, it's time to throw in the garlic and parsley.

Ramsay recommends letting the garlic and onions "sweat until they're soft" before you add the meat.

Then, I add the sausage and use a spatula to break down the chunks of meat while mixing everything together.

Once the onions and garlic have cooked for a bit, throw in the sausage.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

Don't forget to sprinkle some salt and pepper on top!

After the sausage meat has browned, I throw in the chopped tomatoes and a can of crushed tomatoes.
Gordon Ramsay Pasta
I love adding chopped tomatoes to make the pasta more saucy.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

The first two times my dad and I made this dish, we thought the sauce was a little dry with just the chopped tomatoes. Tagliatelle and pappardelle noodles are perfect vehicles for thick sauces; they almost seem a little naked without one.

Since we already loved the taste of the pasta, we didn't want to change the recipe drastically. The extra can of crushed tomatoes gives the Bolognese sauce a bit more oomph in taste and texture but still stays true to Ramsay's flavor profile.

While the sauce simmers, I check to see if my pasta is al dente.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

My method is always to catch one of the pappardelle ribbons in a ladle, run it over some cold water for a few seconds, and then bite into it to see how firm the noodle is.

Then, I add two ladlefuls of pasta water to the sauce and remove it from the heat while my noodles finish cooking.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

I picked up this trick from Ramsay, who notes that the starch from the pasta water helps to thicken the sauce and make it stick to the noodles.

Once the pasta is ready, I drain it and throw my pappardelle into the pan to mix it in that delicious Bolognese sauce.

And add some fresh parsley on top.

After ensuring the noodles are coated with the sauce, I'll throw some parsley on top.

To finish, I'll grate fresh cheese over the top before digging in.

This pasta works great with Parmesan or Gruyère cheese.

Anneta Konstantinides/Business Insider

There's just something about this dish that reminds me of my favorite little Italian restaurant in New York City's West Village neighborhood. The sauce is meaty and rich, the flavors are complex, and each bite floods me with comfort.

My parents have made Ramsay's 15-minute tagliatelle pasta almost every week since we first tried it years ago. My dad loves how much flavor the sausage adds to the Bolognese sauce, and my mom said she always feels "warm inside" when she eats this dish.

"It feels like home," she told me.

I dined at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen after years of watching the show. These 5 things surprised me most.

7 December 2024 at 06:27
A table set with silverware, a black plate topped with a gray napkin with a white-embroidered Hell's Kitchen logo, and wine, water, and cocktail glasses.
I had dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen restaurant in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

  • I dined at Hell's Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay's restaurant based on the show of the same name.
  • As a longtime fan of the TV show, I loved how closely the restaurant resembled the show's set.
  • I also thought the prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the high quality of the food.

As a kid, I couldn't get enough of reality competition shows. I never missed an episode of "American Idol" or "So You Think You Can Dance" and loved the feel-good nature of the shows.

But when I got my first glimpse of a very different type of reality show β€” one where celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay shouted at contestants for overcooking scallops β€” I was hooked.

"Hell's Kitchen," which first premiered in the US on Fox in 2005 and is now in its 23rd season, follows chefs competing in various challenges in hopes of becoming a head chef at a restaurant.

It's since been nominated for five Emmys, and its star, Ramsay, even opened a chain of restaurants based on the show.

The restaurant has seven locations in places like Las Vegas, Miami, Washington, DC, and Lake Tahoe, though my husband and I had dinner at the one in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Here are five things that surprised me most about the experience.

I couldn't believe how much the restaurant resembled the show's set.
A busy restaurant with an open kitchen. The left half of the kitchen has red decor and the right half has blue decor.
The kitchen was visible from the dining area and had chefs broken up into red and blue "teams."

Stephanie Pitera Statile

When I walked into the restaurant, I was shocked by how familiar the main dining area looked. I felt as though I had stumbled onto the set of the show.

According to the restaurant's website, emulating the show was intentional. The kitchen, which was visible from the dining area, even had chefs broken up into red and blue "teams" β€” just like on the show.

The subtle theming was everywhere.
A man and a woman hold half-full Champagne glasses garnished with strawberries on pitchfork-themed toothpicks.
The show's signature pitchforks were even on our drinks.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

My husband and I ate at Hell's Kitchen as part of our anniversary celebration, so we were surprised with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine.

The glasses were topped with strawberries pierced with toothpicks shaped like pitchforks, a nod to the show's logo. The theming didn't stop there β€” the lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling were also shaped like pitchforks.

My favorite details were the bathroom doors marked with pitchforks resembling a "W" for women and an "M" for men.

During my visit, the chefs in the kitchen seemed much happier than they do on TV.
A giant, golden Hell's Kitchen restaurant logo that features the letters "H" and "K" with a pitchfork in the middle.
Unlike on the show, we didn't hear any yelling inside the restaurant.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

It's no secret that a lot of screaming happens on the set of "Hell's Kitchen."

At the restaurant of the same name, however, I was pleased to see the chefs laughing and chatting with each other as they prepared our meals.

As fun as it is to see Ramsay shout on TV, I was happy not to hear yelling during our dinner.

The menu actually featured many of the show's signature dishes.
Yellow risotto on a white plate, topped with fennel, a lobster tail, and basil.
I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster risotto.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

When I think of "Hell's Kitchen," I immediately think of dishes like beef Wellington, scallops, and risotto. They're cooked often on the show and are some of Ramsay's signatures.

I was pleasantly surprised to find all these items and more on the restaurant's menu. And, yes, the risotto certainly lived up to the hype.

Considering the high quality of the meal, I thought the prices were surprisingly fair.
A black plate with three scallops sitting in a swirl of puree and topped with lardons, fennel, and chives, and a cast-iron skillet of meatballs topped with cheese, croutons, basil, and red sauce.
I thought our meal at Hell's Kitchen was a great value.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

When we first made a reservation at Hell's Kitchen, I expected our meal would be quite expensive.

After all, my husband and I can easily spend $50 on dinner at our local diner, and this is a TV-famous restaurant serving some high-class dishes.

However, we got three appetizers, an entrΓ©e, and a dessert cocktail for $216, including tax and tip. Considering the quality of our meal and the immersive atmosphere, I thought this price was surprisingly fair.

How Gordon Ramsay stays fit at 58, from his diet to the one exercise he can't live without

4 December 2024 at 07:00

  • Gordon Ramsay said fitness helps him balance his health and his culinary career.
  • Ramsay competes in marathons and triathlons and said exercise keeps him resilient and energized.
  • He does push-ups and quick cardio sessions on the rower and eats smaller portions.

At 58, Gordon Ramsay has built a career as an acclaimed restaurateur β€” but his biggest long-term investment is banking hours in the gym to stay healthy for years to come.

"Fitness is the foundation. Everything has to revolve around how I feel and how good it is to train," Ramsay said in an interview with Men's Health UK.

The celebrity chef said he was forced to reevaluate his routine in his 40s when seven-day workweeks left him "overweight and out of control."

Looking for a change, Ramsay started doing triathlons and said tackling those physical challenges became the most peaceful and relaxing part of his life.

He now aims to train at least four to five days a week and gets up at 5 a.m. to run.

"Without fitness, you have no longevity," he said. "I have no interest in retiring. I work smarter, not harder."

Here's what Ramsay has said about his go-to workouts and healthy eating.

Ramsay swears by doing push-ups every day

Ramsay is an avid endurance athlete and spends time running, swimming, and cycling. But the one exercise he can't live without doesn't require any equipment and can be done anywhere.

Everyone should do push-ups daily, he told Men's Health.

"There is so much to get from a simple press-up," he said.

Push-ups are a compound exercise that work multiple muscle groups at once, strengthening the chest, shoulders, triceps, and core.

Ramsay recommends hitting a quick set of 25 push-ups every day after getting out of bed and doubling it on the weekends.

If you're new to the movement, work up to full push-ups or bigger sets by practicing scaled exercises such as incline or eccentric push-ups.

For a quick workout, he does 20 minutes of cardio

Ramsay said he aims to run for 30 minutes in the morning when possible and will hike, bike, or swim for as long as two hours on the weekends. Even 15 to 20 minutes of movement boosts his energy and helps him stay fit.

When he's in a rush, Ramsay said he'll hop on a rowing machine and do one-minute intervals of work followed by a minute of rest for 10 cycles.

A rowing machine offers the best of both worlds for strength training and cardio because it works your whole body, puts your muscles under tension, and spikes your heart rate. It's also ideal for high-intensity interval training to save time in the gym.

Ramsay cut his portion sizes to stay in shape

Eating rich food can part of a chef's job, so Ramsay doesn't cut anything out and instead limits his portions.

"I'll eat two mouthfuls of a delicious dish and then ignore it," he said.

Ramsay lost about 50 pounds in 2018 and told the "Today" show that eating smaller, more frequent meals was key.

He said his basic healthy-eating routine involves a protein shake for breakfast, scrambled eggs for lunch, and protein like poached chicken or fish with vegetables for dinner.

I tried Gordon Ramsay's recipe for air-fryer steak, and got a perfect result in 20 minutes

3 December 2024 at 06:41
My rib-eye steak and all of the ingredients
Gordon Ramsay's recipe for air-fryer steak required a lot of spices and seasonings.

Chelsea Davis

  • I made Gordon Ramsay's air-fryer steak with a coffee and chili rub and was blown away.
  • His rub had 11 ingredients that created a complex, spicy, sweet, and salty flavor.
  • In 20 minutes I had a juicy, perfectly cooked rib-eye steak. I can't wait to make this again.Β

I never even thought you could β€” or should β€” cook a nice steak in the air fryer, but Gordon Ramsay's coffee-and-chili-rubbed rib-eye recipe has proved me wrong.Β

Here's what it was like making the chef's air-fryer steak.Β

I chose a thick rib-eye steak to cook in my air fryer

The rib eye steak I cooked
I learned how to cook steak in an air fryer using a thick rib eye.

Chelsea Davis

I am a huge fan of rib-eye steaks. I love the fattiness of the cut and the tender juiciness of the meat.

This 2-inch-thick, 1 1/2-pound steak was hefty, and it looked like it would be a pain to cook properly without an air fryer.Β

The rub includes 11 different ingredients and was easy to put together

All of the spices I used in piles.
Mixing the spices together for the rub was easy.

Chelsea Davis

I combined ground coffee, ancho chili powder, paprika, dark-brown sugar, salt, pepper, ground coriander, ground mustard, ground ginger, and dried oregano.

The only ingredient I couldn't find was the Aleppo pepper, so I substituted it with cayenne.Β

Ramsay recommends letting the steak sit for 15 minutes with the rub on

The steak sitting in the seasoning
I let my steak sit and soak up the seasoning for about 15 minutes.

Chelsea Davis

I completely coated my room-temperature steak with the spice mixture, making sure to get the sides.

Ramsay suggests letting the steak sit for 15 to 20 minutes with the rub on because the longer it sits, the more the flavors of the spices soak into the meat.

I heated the air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and tried to cook my steak to a medium finishΒ

The steak in the air fryer
The large steak fit snugly in my air fryer.

Chelsea Davis

I slightly sprayed the basket with oil and cooked the steak for 10 minutes on each side.Β

Before cutting into it, I let the steak rest for about 10 minutes.

The steak came out perfectly juicy and tender

Half-way through cooking steak in the air fryer
This is what the steak looked like after I flipped it once in the air fryer.

Chelsea Davis

The steak came out absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. No parts got burnt or charred β€” it was just a perfectly cooked, juicy steak all around.Β

The air-fryer steak recipe seemed easy to adjust depending on preference. It was a solid medium with a light-pink center. If I'd wanted, say, a more medium-rare steak, I probably could've cooked it for about eight minutes on each side.Β

The finished steak with butter on top
The steak I made using Gordon Ramsay's air-fryer rib-eye recipe looked beautiful.

Chelsea Davis

The rub was complex and super flavorful with salty, sweet, and umami flavors with a slight punchiness. The coffee really balanced the flavor profile of the rub, and the peppers gave it a nice kick that contrasted nicely with the sweetness of the brown sugar.

A piece of the final steak
The air-fryer steak ended up being evenly cooked.

Chelsea Davis

As a bonus, this recipe was pretty much foolproof and required hardly any cleanup.

I'm glad I know how to make steak in an air fryer now, and I'd definitely make Ramsay's recipe again. I highly recommend this cooking method and. recipe for anyone who doesn't like to handle high heat, sizzling pans, or hot oil.

My husband and I had dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen. For $216, we thought the meal was an incredible value.

1 December 2024 at 04:34

My husband and I ate at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

  • My husband and I spent our first anniversary at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen in Atlantic City.
  • The restaurant, based on the hit show of the same name, had a great atmosphere and delicious food.
  • We ordered some of Ramsay's signature dishes, including scallops, risotto, and beef Wellington.

I grew up watching "Hell's Kitchen," the Emmy-nominated cooking show where contestants compete for a head-chef position in a restaurant while being screamed at by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Although I'm not much of a cook myself, I often found myself shaking my head at the TV when chefs overcooked meals like risotto or scallops. So, when my husband suggested we spend our first anniversary at Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen restaurant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, I knew we'd be in for a great meal.

Ramsay opened the first Hell's Kitchen restaurant, inspired by the show of the same name, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in 2018. The chain has since expanded to seven locations in places like Miami, Lake Tahoe, and Washington, DC.

Here's what our experience at the Atlantic City location was like.

We arrived early and had drinks at the bar in the lobby.
Two drinks sitting on a bar: one with a yellow tint and one red. In front of the drinks is a small slip of paper that reads, "There is more smoke in this kitchen than in Snoop Dogg's tour bus."
We ordered two specialty cocktails from the bar.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

Hell's Kitchen is located inside the Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and Casino. We arrived at our reservation about 20 minutes early and checked in with the hosts, who told us they would text us when our table was ready.

To pass the time, we had drinks at the lobby bar, which featured a list of beer, wine, and specialty cocktails.

I chose the Fallen Angel ($19), which included a mix of gin, peach liqueur, watermelon juice, and lemon. The drink was slightly sweet but refreshing β€” and really aesthetically pleasing.

My husband ordered a drink called Notes From Gordon ($18), which was gin-based and featured green tea, almond-liqueur lemongrass, peach, and lemon.

The menu also promised a "message from Gordon" with our drinks, which came in the form of a rolled-up Union Jack flag attached to the side of the drink. When opened, it had a quote from the show, "There is more smoke in this kitchen than in Snoop Dogg's tour bus."

As fans of the show, the restaurant's layout looked familiar.
A busy restaurant with an open kitchen. The left half of the kitchen has red decor and the right half has blue decor.
The chefs seemed to be separated into two teams β€” red and blue.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

After getting a text that our table was ready, we closed our tab at the bar and headed to the host stand.

One of the hosts escorted us down a winding staircase and pointed out the wall displaying photos of all the show's winners.

The main dining area looked just like the set of the show. We could see the chefs β€” who were separated into the show's signature red and blue teams β€” cooking at the front of the restaurant. Luckily, they looked pretty happy and no one was getting yelled at.

Our waitress brought over complimentary glasses of sparkling wine for our anniversary.
A man and a woman hold half-full Champagne glasses garnished with strawberries on pitchfork-themed toothpicks.
The sparkling wine was a nice surprise.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

After ordering our appetizers, our server brought us two glasses of sparkling wine and wished us a happy anniversary.

Both glasses were garnished with strawberries pierced with pitchfork toothpicks β€” another nod to the show and restaurant theme.

We both thought this was a thoughtful touch that made the experience all the more personal.

The appetizers were incredible.
A black plate with three scallops sitting in a swirl of puree and topped with lardons, fennel, and chives, and a cast-iron skillet of meatballs topped with cheese, croutons, basil, and red sauce.
We ordered the pan-seared scallops and wagyu meatballs.

Stephanie Pitera Statile

We decided to order two appetizers β€” pan-seared scallops ($29) and wagyu meatballs ($24).

Scallops aren't typically my favorite, but given they're such a contentious menu item on the show, I knew I had to try them. Plus, my husband loves them, so I knew they wouldn't go to waste.

The scallops sat in a streak of pea purΓ©e and were topped with braised bacon lardons, pickled fennel, and chives. When I took a bite, the scallop immediately melted in my mouth.

When I asked my husband what he thought of them, he replied, "Absolutely perfect. No notes."

But, for me, the meatballs were the real star of the show. Served with tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, and crispy basil, these meatballs were some of the best I've ever had β€” which is saying a lot since I grew up in an Italian family.

They were also served with polenta croutons, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

I decided to order another appetizer as my main course.
Yellow risotto on a white plate, topped with fennel, a lobster tail, and basil.
The lobster-risotto appetizer was a generous portion.

When I found out we'd be dining at Hell's Kitchen, I looked up the menu and immediately locked in on the lobster risotto ($31). Risotto is one of my favorite meals to order when we go out to eat, so I was really excited to order it.

Although it was listed as an appetizer, I saw a woman next to me order it as her meal. The portion looked generous, and because I knew we were ordering a few starters to share, I decided to get it as my entrΓ©e.

The dish, which included a butter-poached lobster tail, braised fennel, lemon zest, and Parmesan, tasted incredible.

My husband enjoyed the beef Wellington β€” but this time, he had some notes.

Beef Wellington ($70) is another one of Ramsay's signature dishes, so I planned on trying a bite of my husband's meal when he ordered it. However, as someone who likes my steak cooked to a medium temperature, I took one look at the dish and knew it wasn't for me.

The beef, wrapped in a delicious-looking pastry, looked like it had been cooked to a rare temperature, much to my husband's delight.

He said it was tasty and cooked perfectly, but he found the pΓ’tΓ© inside a little too rich. He ended up removing some of it before fully digging in.

He also enjoyed the potato purΓ©e and glazed root vegetables that came on the side.

I was too full for dessert, but my husband ordered a cocktail.

I almost always find room for dessert, but after enjoying my meal, I knew I was too full to eat another thing.

My husband, however, got the English-toffee coffee ($15), which consisted of whiskey, coffee, toffee syrup, whipped cream, and toffee pieces.

At $216, we thought our meal was a great value.

We'd definitely eat at Hell's Kitchen again.

After tax and tip (and not including the drinks we paid for at the bar), our bill came to $216 for two appetizers, our meals, and a dessert cocktail.

Although we wouldn't typically spend this much on a night out, we thought the pricing was fair, considering the quality of the food. After all, we can typically spend up to $100 eating at chains like The Cheesecake Factory.

Overall, we had a great experience at Hell's Kitchen and definitely plan to return the next time we have something to celebrate.
