Gloria Steinem says she has no regrets about not having children and wants to live well into her 100s

  • Gloria Steinem, 90, is the first guest on Bobbi Brown's new YouTube series, "I Am Me."
  • In Thursday's episode, the 90-year-old activist discussed aging and her choice to skip motherhood.
  • Brown told Business Insider that she aims to uplift and inspire women with this video series.

Gloria Steinem wouldn't mind being one of the oldest women in the world.

The writer and activist, 90, recently sat down with Bobbi Brown to appear as the first guest on the beauty legend's new YouTube series "I Am Me," which launched Thursday.

During their discussion, Steinem reflected on her life in the public eye, the evolution of women's empowerment, and her feelings about skipping motherhood and aging.

Regarding the latter topics, the author said she's satisfied in both areas.

When Brown asked Steinem who would carry her legacy, the activist replied, "lots and lots and lots of people" — from modern artists she admires to parents.

Steinem said single mothers, especially, inspire her. She believes a "huge" factor in her success over the years is that she was never responsible for raising children — giving her time to focus solely on herself and her work.

"Any regrets on that?" Brown asked.

"No, no, absolutely not," Steinem said. "I'm not sure why except perhaps because when I was growing up, I was looking after my mother, who was not well. I've noticed that other people who were small people looking after big people don't want to do it again."

She also said she would "maybe" describe herself as a big sister of the women's empowerment movement but would never assign herself the title of its mom.

"I've never been a mother," she said.

On the topic of aging, Steinem said she's comfortable with herself in her ninth decade and is excited to get older.

"I'm 90 years old. Hello?" Steinem said to Brown. "I looked up to find the oldest woman in the world, and I found a woman who's 130, supposedly — so I have a goal."

The activist also said that not working from an office daily spares her "the compulsion" to regularly look in the mirror. When she does, however, she's not surprised or bothered by what she sees.

"I don't care about getting old, except I love it here, and I don't want to leave," Steinem said.

In an email to Business Insider, Brown said that helping women love themselves has always been a core part of her career — from launching her first namesake makeup line to her current beauty venture, Jones Road Beauty.

With this series — produced by the brand with help from JPMorganChase — she wants to take that effort further and show that "success doesn't come easily."

"We all face challenges, no matter how perfect things look on the outside," Brown said. "The message is simple: the best thing you can do is to be yourself."

And she's learning that lesson herself from each guest on her show.

"We all have our struggles and battles with self-doubt," Brown said. "The key is how we rise above the challenges and choose to move forward with vision and confidence. I've learned to look at obstacles as opportunities — and every one of the inspirational women on 'I Am Me' has their own stories of how they got there."

Melania Trump wore menswear again. It's becoming her signature style for this term.

  • Melania Trump visited the US Capitol Monday to discuss the "Take It Down Act" aimed to help victims of deepfake and revenge porn.
  • She arrived wearing a tan suit, matching heels, and a black tie.
  • The menswear style is one of a few she's worn so far during Donald Trump's second term in office.

Melania Trump's recent White House fashion can be described in one word: menswear.

The first lady made an appearance at the US Capitol on Monday to support the "Take It Down Act" — a bill that would make posting revenge porn a federal crime.

While entering the discussion via the Senate Carriage hallway, Melania was photographed wearing a three-piece tan suit, black tie, white button-down top, and matching pumps.

The sharp look matches other menswear ensembles she's sported so far during her husband, Donald Trump's second term in office.

Melania wore a similar style almost a week earlier, on February 22, at the 2025 National Governors Association dinner hosted at the White House.

For the occasion, she chose a black suit jacket, skinny, ankle-length dress pants, and a white tuxedo blouse with a sharp collar. The first lady also sported her signature pointed pumps.

Melania's style switch feels significant

The recent masculine shift in Melania's style is significant. Between 2016 and 2020, during her first years in office, the former model more often wore midi dresses, skirt-and-blouse sets, and gowns.

In her first White House portrait, she did wear a suit, though her accessories at the time were feminine. She's seen wearing two diamond rings and a sequined neck scarf in the image.

This time around, however, Melania leaned more strongly into menswear for her official portrait.

Her new portrait shows her wearing a satin suit jacket, a white blouse with buttons left undone, a cummerbund, and pleated pants — all while making a power stance against a table.

The first lady hasn't yet shared any details about why she's started gravitating toward suits.

Still, just like Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris, she seems to have least realized the impact of power dressing.

14 looks from the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party that missed the mark — sorry

Not every look at the Vanity Fair Oscar party was stylish.

  • Celebrities flocked to the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Los Angeles on Sunday.
  • The red carpet had plenty of high-fashion looks, but some stars didn't wear their best outfits.
  • Kim Kardashian's gown looked out of place, and Megan Thee Stallion's dress was a little too daring.

The 2025 Academy Awards came and went on Sunday, and A-list stars closed out the night at Vanity Fair's annual Oscar after-party in Los Angeles.

Celebrities arrived at the event in red-carpet attire, and many Oscars attendees changed into second looks for the evening.

There were plenty of stylish outfits at the event, but there were also stars who didn't nail their looks, from poorly tailored outfits to dresses that didn't suit the occasion.

Take a look at the outfits that missed the mark at the Vanity Fair after-party.

Kim Kardashian

Kardashian went bridal for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a custom Balenciaga gown. The white, strapless look had a corset bodice, a full skirt, and ruching from top to bottom.

That said, it looked far more like a wedding dress than a fun, after-party frock. The same gown in a different color could have been more interesting, and accessorizing with statement jewels would have been fun.

John Legend

Legend sported an all-black ensemble consisting of baggy trousers, a thick skirt, and a high-necked, long-sleeved poncho.

Unfortunately, the outfit wore him — it was too oversized and overwhelming in shape.

Zoe Saldaña

Saint Laurent designed the Oscar winner's after-party look. It featured a black long-sleeved top that Saldana wore without a bra, a peach high-low skirt with thick ruffles and a train, and sheer black tights.

Though the color combination looked sharp on Saldaña, the top half of the outfit was too casual for the Oscars-related event. A black halter top or strapless bodice would have been a better match.

Jeremy Pope
Jeremy Pope attends the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Jeremy Pope looked dapper at the Oscars in a simple black Balmain suit decorated with bowties. His after-party look, however, wasn't as strong.

He arrived wearing a wide-legged leather catsuit and platform boots. Though the bottom half of his outfit had potential, its bodice only covered half of Pope's chest before extending into a scarf that covered his mouth. The outfit was ultimately more odd than fashionable.

Taraji P. Henson

Henson was one of the few stars to wear a minidress after the Oscars.

But the asymmetrical piece looked more messy than daring. Its sparkling embellishment attached at the dress' waistline looked especially out of place.

Julianne Hough

From the front, Hough's black-and-white gown was eye-catching. It had a leotard-like top with sheer panels showing her arms and waist, and a ruched, cream-colored skirt that added elegance.

It was the other side of the gown, however, that ruined the look. Its backless design extended so low — all the way to Hough's backside — that it was more distracting than interesting.

Matt Bomer

Bomer's Valentino tuxedo had a classic silhouette, and his relaxed tie and decorative brooch paired well with the look.

However, his patterned scarf was distracting, particularly because he wore it tucked under the tuxedo jacket. The look would have been better if Bomer ditched the superfluous accessory.

Lily-Rose Depp

Depp took a unique approach to Chanel, wearing two pieces that were more daring than usual for the fashion house.

Her bralette-style top was sheer and had a sequined bow pattern, and her low-waisted skirt was pleated and made from green tulle. But because the garments sat so far apart on Depp's body, it looked like she was missing a chunk of her outfit.

Megan Thee Stallion

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage/Getty Images

Stallion isn't a stranger to taking risks on the red carpet, but the green gown she wore to the after-party was a bit too daring for the setting.

The green, mermaid-style dress hugged her figure, and feathers on the bodice floated out from the dress like a peacock's plume. The neckline was so low that the rapper's chest was completely exposed, with only green nipple pasties providing her with coverage.

The dress would have been great if the neckline was a bit higher or if Meg had worn a statement bralette with the garment instead of pasties.

Michael Urie
Michael Urie attends the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party.

While it was fun that Urie didn't just wear a traditional suit, there was too much going on in his sheer, lace-embellished set. The beading and lace on his jacket and pants were so intricate that they were hard to look at when they overlapped, and the wide leg of his pants didn't help.

Urie may have had a more balanced look if he paired the statement jacket with simpler pants.

Sarah Paulson

You couldn't miss Paulson's Marc Jacobs dress, both because of the red color and the massive bubbles of fabric that adorned the hem, backside, and neckline of the dress.

The play on volume could have been fun, but the bubbles were so big that not even Paulson's simple black clutch or heels could detract from them. Slightly less fabric would have made the look stronger.

Anna Kendrick

The black cocktail dress Kendrick wore from Ashi Studio was pretty — its fabric had a fun sheen and a bubble skirt hit above her knee.

However, flower-shaped sequin embroidery on the hemline and one sleeve took the dress from sleek to clunky. The look would have stood out more if it didn't have so many embellishments.

Ice Spice

Ice Spice wore a floor-length mustard skirt and coordinating cardigan, without a shirt.

The cardigan made the whole look feel casual for the red carpet, though, and Ice may have looked more red-carpet-ready if she paired the skirt with a formal top.

Laverne Cox

Daniele Venturelli/Getty Images

Cox's black dress looked more like a costume than a red-carpet outfit, particularly because of the way it was styled.

The archival Manfred Thierry Mugler dress formed a scalloped, halter neckline that looked like a spiderweb. Cox paired the dress with black gloves, and her dramatic hair and makeup included a short, black hairstyle, no eyebrows, and red lips.

The outfit would have been perfect for a chic Halloween party or themed event, but it didn't quite work for the after-party.

Celebrities who wore better outfits at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party than they did at the actual awards show

  • The Vanity Fair Oscar Party was held in Beverly Hills on Sunday night following the Oscars.
  • Rachel Zegler, Cynthia Erivo, and Mikey Madison changed outfits for the night's event.
  • Their looks were even better than what they wore to the actual awards ceremony.

Celebrations didn't stop after the 2025 Oscars concluded on Sunday night.

Following the awards ceremony, dozens of stars headed to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, where many of them showed up in different outfits for the annual bash.

Here's a look at the stars who wore even better looks to the second event, including Mikey Madison and Kylie Jenner.

The "Emilia Pérez" star was undoubtedly among the best-dressed stars at the 2025 Oscars, in a rose-gold gown from Ralph Lauren.

When she arrived at the after-party, she topped the look with a shimmering black number from Armani Privè and a thick diamond choker that tied the look together.

Monica Barbaro

The custom Christian Dior look that Barbaro wore to the 2025 Oscars missed the mark.

But that wasn't the case for the custom Dolce & Gabbana gown she changed into for Vanity Fair's party.

The strapless dress, crafted from cream-colored fabric and embellished with sparkling silver strings, fit her perfectly and looked classic at the after-party.

Rachel Zegler

Zegler was a vision in her cream-colored halter gown. The neutral piece had a chest cutout, ruffles all over its bodice, and a lace skirt that flowed around her feet.

She also complemented the look perfectly with an updo hairstyle and long earrings.

Mikey Madison

Madison evoked old Hollywood glamour for her after-party appearance.

She wore a strapless black gown with a plunging V-shaped neckline, a wrapped bow belt, and a full skirt.

The Oscar winner also draped a scarf around her arms and donned a statement ruby necklace.

Meg Ryan

After wearing a velvet red dress that wasn't tailored well to the Oscars, Ryan looked chic at the Vanity Fair after-party in a semisheer dress.

The tan piece was sleeveless, had a beaded collar, and was embellished from top to bottom with delicate sparkles. The actor wore the look with rosy makeup and a diamond bracelet.

Kylie Jenner

Jenner sat in a custom Miu Miu dress next to her boyfriend, the Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, at the 2025 Oscars. She then attended the Vanity Fair after-party in a new gown designed by Ashi Studio.

The corseted design was strapless, with a sheer illusion bodice and lace skirt.

It fit Jenner like a glove and made for the perfect edgy look with her dark, wavy hairstyle.

Rachel Sennott

Sennott's sparkly pink dress for the Oscars wasn't her best, as the sequins didn't match the glamour of the red carpet. It didn't help that her black tights looked out of place.

But the black high-low gown the "Saturday Night" star changed into for the after-party struck the perfect tone.

The gown's plunging halter neckline gave way to a dropped-waist bodice, and the pleated fabric on the skirt made the dress look like it spilled onto Sennott's body. It created a fun and dramatic look.

Coco Jones

Jones chose a custom Coach dress for her Oscars debut, which had sparkles on the skirt as well as a daring slit. It was a solid look, but it didn't stand out from the pack.

She changed into a strapless gown that leaned into the butter-yellow trend for the after-party. The architectural detailing on the strapless corset bodice contrasted with the ruching on the skirt, which had a slit, just like her first dress.

The colorful ensemble was the perfect continuation of the fashion story Jones started earlier in the night.

Lisa

Lisa swapped out the menswear look she wore to the awards ceremony for a custom Miss Sohee dress that had a gothic feel.

The base of the K-pop star's look was a sheer black bodysuit with a high neckline and intricate lace. The strapless dress featured a sweetheart neckline, and the skirt bubbled around her hips before flaring inward for an exaggerated hourglass shape. She accessorized the look with wet hair and diamond jewelry.

The dress was stunning, and Lisa amped the look with edgy styling.

Joe Locke

The "Heartstopper" star's Oscars outfit had too much going on, from the jacket with tails to the sparkly vest he wore with it.

His after-party look was much simpler — and much more stylish. He wore a tuxedo shirt with no tie or jacket, pairing it with a cummerbund and wide-legged pants.

A gold brooch on his chest elevated the party-ready look.

Coco Gauff

The tennis star wore two colorful Miu Miu gowns to celebrate the Oscars, but her second look was stronger than the first.

The yellow dress she wore to the awards ceremony looked a bit dated because of its thick straps and large, sparkly embellishments that covered it from head to toe.

The green gown Gauff changed into for the after-party felt fun and fresh in comparison. The sheath dress had spaghetti straps. Gems were embroidered onto the bodice in the shape of florals that cascaded down the garment. A circular cutout in the back gave the gown a sexy edge.

Cynthia Erivo

Erivo looked stunning at the Oscars, celebrating her character Elphaba from "Wicked" in a custom Louis Vuitton gown.

But her dress for the after-party felt like a celebration of Erivo herself, which was a welcome change from the rest of her awards season looks.

Erivo's Vivienne Westwood gown was made of a gauzy gray fabric that crisscrossed over her body to form a mini dress. The fabric spilled into a floor-length train on one side, and a black bow sat on one of Erivo's shoulders and her waist.

She carried a heart-shaped bag and wore gothic-style jewelry with the outfit, creating a look that was both whimsical and sexy.

Gal Gadot

Gadot wore red Prada dresses to both the Oscars and the after-party, but the sheath dress she changed into was more interesting than the satin ball gown she wore to the show.

Sparkly black beading adorned the dress from head to toe, bringing texture to the simple silhouette.

Gadot wore a red scarf around her neck, mixing old Hollywood glamour with the more modern ensemble.

The 2025 Oscars worst-dressed list: 12 looks that missed the mark — sorry

  • The 2025 Academy Awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
  • Though there were many well-dressed stars, a few others missed the mark.
  • Elle Fanning's gown was underwhelming, and Joe Locke wore a suit with too many details.

Not every outfit at the 2025 Oscars was a hit.

While some stars walked the Academy Awards red carpet in stunning gowns and sharp suits, a few others sported outfits that could have used some tweaks — or been changed entirely.

Here are the night's looks that ultimately missed the mark.

Meg Ryan

Though Ryan looked cool and comfortable, a few simple tweaks could have improved her red velvet look.

A chic updo would have complemented the elegant style of her strapless gown, and thinner shoes would have clashed less with its heavy fabric.

Mikey Madison

The "Anora" star's Dior dress had a black bodice and a pink empire-waist skirt with a bow and a train.

The dress was pretty but overdone. Numerous stars have worn versions of the same look.

Stronger embellishments on the bodice or a different color combination could have enhanced the ensemble.

Ethan Slater

The "Wicked" star walked the red carpet in a black tuxedo, a white button-down, and a solid tie. He also wore shiny dress shoes.

Though his outfit was classic, it was also forgettable — especially compared with the standout looks worn by other members of the film's cast.

Lily-Rose Depp

Depp embraced the aesthetic of "Nosferatu" in a black lace gown that was custom-made for her by Chanel.

That said, the sheer ensemble seemed a bit too casual for the glamorous event. It would have been better for an Oscars after-party.

Rachel Zegler

Zegler's custom Christian Dior gown was pretty, with pearl details and gray tulle.

Its top, however, didn't seem to fit the "Snow White" star. It also had a visible tan corset piece that could have blended better into the garment.

Joe Locke

Locke, who is in the Netflix series "Heartstopper," wore an assortment of colors and pieces that didn't work together.

They included a white blouse with a matching bowtie, a long vest covered in gold sequins, gray trousers with sharp pleats, and a black suit jacket with tails.

Storm Reid

Reid, best known for "Euphoria," made a statement in a red Alexandre Vauthier minidress with a matching cape and gold belt.

Unfortunately, it looked more like a designer Little Red Riding Hood costume than an Oscar-worthy outfit.

Rachel Sennott

The large, pink sequins that decorated Sennott's strapless gown dated her look. Her black, knee-length boots didn't feel cohesive with the dress.

Smaller sparkles and more sophisticated accessories could have elevated the ensemble.

Sennott recently appeared in "SNL," the movie about the origins of "Saturday Night Live."

Elle Fanning

Fanning, who played Bob Dylan's girlfriend Suze Rotolo in "A Complete Unknown," is a consistent style star, but her latest Oscars look was underwhelming.

Givenchy custom-made her white, sleeveless gown, which had a full lace skirt, a black bow belt, and a deep sweetheart neckline.

Her Cartier necklace was eye-catching and glamorous, but it made a bigger statement than the rest of her ensemble.

Whoopi Goldberg

Christian Siriano designed her Cinderella-esque ballgown.

While its off-the-shoulder sleeves and classic silhouette suited Goldberg, its shiny fabric distracted from the overall look.

The musician chose a statement-making gown in an off-green shade. It was decorated with silver sequins, accessorized with a brown belt, and had a raw hem.

Unfortunately, the top of the gown was too prom-like, while the bottom half looked messy and unfinished.

Monica Barbaro

Barbaro, who starred in "A Complete Unknown," sported a custom gown from Christian Dior.

The dress had potential, but it fell short. Its full pink skirt was wrinkled, its corseted waist sat just a touch too high, and its sparkling bralette top appeared to be ill-fitting.

How Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan transformed their style together over the years

1 March 2025 at 03:43

  • Mark Zuckerberg met his wife, Priscilla Chan, at Harvard in 2003, and they got married in 2012.
  • Their couple style has evolved over the years, especially as Zuckerberg became a billionaire.
  • They've gone from wearing business-ready suits and gowns to cool, trendy ensembles.

Through the highs and lows of Mark Zuckerberg's career, Priscilla Chan has been by his side.

The couple met at a college frat party while attending Harvard University in 2003 and married in 2012. They've since had three children together, purchased over 1,200 acres of real estate, and created the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Their collective style as a couple has also changed quite a bit in the two decades they've been together — especially as Zuckerberg's net worth has grown to $232 billion, according to Forbes.

Here's what their fashion transformation has looked like.

Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg have always dressed in understated, business-ready looks.

For example, they kept their outfits simple on the red carpet for the 2014 Breakthrough Prize ceremony.

Zuckerberg wore a black tuxedo and satin tie, while Chan sported a sparkling, sleeveless dress in a deep shade of blue.

That was especially true when they visited the White House in 2015.

For a state dinner that year, Zuckerberg sported his usual black suit, tie, and dress shoes.

Chan, on the other hand, looked elegant in a vibrant red dress with a lace overlay. She paired the garment with a black clutch, simple sandals, and an updo hairstyle.

By 2016, the couple developed a uniform of sorts.

Zuckerberg continued attending events like the 2016 Axel Springer Awards in dark suits and white undershirts. Rather than accessorizing, he added only belts and dress shoes.

Chan, on the other hand, began sporting all-black ensembles that year. For the awards ceremony, she donned black leggings underneath a knit tunic and ankle-length boots.

But they elevated their looks around 2018.

The couple attended the 2024 UFC 300 event in April while wearing casual yet cool outfits. Zuckerberg wore a white T-shirt with black jeans, and Chan donned a black blazer as a dress with sunglasses and a gold necklace for accessories.

Then, in May, Zuckerberg celebrated his birthday while wearing a graphic tee and gold chain.

Zuckerberg's fashion changes might have been strategic. Meta announced last summer that it was working to win over Gen Z.

The Facebook founder could have been doing the same by upping his style reputation.

Zuckerberg, who matched fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos at the event, wore a navy suit, white button-down shirt, and deep red tie.

Chan, however, made a high-fashion statement with a baby-blue Bottega Veneta set. She wore a $2,500 wool cardigan, a matching $2,800 skirt, and chunky pearl necklaces.

  • Business Insider asked successful men across industries what shoes they love to wear.
  • Many shared that they prefer sneakers, typically from classic brands like Nike and New Balance.
  • Others mentioned authentic cowboy boots and luxury loafers.

We'd all like to step into the shoes of the world's most successful people.

So, while speaking with businessmen across industries, Business Insider asked them to name their favorite fragrances, clothing brands, luxury home items, and, of course, footwear.

Sneakers reigned supreme, but you'll also find cowboy boots and designer loafers in their closets.

"Man, I love shoes," Bryce Grandison, 28, told BI.

The Georgia-based real-estate agent, who formerly worked as a real-estate analyst and was named a BI rising star, rotates between various pairs of classic sneakers.

He wears Nike Air Max 1s ($140 - $180), Stan Smith tennis shoes from Adidas ($100 - $350), and kicks from Roger Federer's collaboration with On ($140 - $200).

"I love to keep it business casual always, anytime, anywhere I go," Grandison said. "Ideally, no matter what I have on, I want to come across as a business professional."

"Whether I have a sweatsuit on with my Nikes, or if I have Lululemon slacks on, a half-zip top, and my Roger Federer On running shoes, you can see that it's a multifaceted look that's put together very well," he added.

Rob Beiderman, 38, founded Asymmetric Capital Partners in 2021 and is now the fund's managing partner.

Whether at work or on the go, the former BI rising star says he wears sneakers from Allbirds "almost every day."

He specifically loves the brand's Tree Runners, which are made from eucalyptus tree fiber and designed for walking. They retail between $98 and $120 a pair.

"I love traveling with them because you can exercise and wear them for meetings," Beiderman said.

Occasionally, however, he swaps them for canvas slides from Toms.

While working in the art world, cowboy boots are one professional's go-to shoe.

Paul Hill, 25, is the founder of the art-tech company Strada. He told BI that he wears brown cowboy boots from the Texas-based brand Justin most days in his office.

He described the boots, which retail between $134 and over $1,000 each, as extremely versatile.

"I bike to work every single day, and I love how, with cowboy boots, it's kind of like stirrups. They just lock into the bike pedals super easily," he said. "And they're so comfortable."

Hill said he became interested in the style in high school and bought his first pair during college. He's worn them ever since.

"I went to boarding school for high school in Asheville, North Carolina, and that's where I first got introduced to cowboy boots," he said. "So, for me, they're just a little piece I can carry with me from the time I've spent outside New York City."

Robert Felder, 30, is the founder and CEO of the clothing company Bearbottom.

He told BI that he exclusively wears the brand's designs because he loves them and is always testing new products.

Shoes, however, are another story.

"I typically wear sneakers," he said. "I have some New Balances that I really like wearing, and Reebok. Those are the two sneaker brands that I've been wearing a lot."

Felder alternates between the $90 Club C 85 Vintage kicks from Reebok and the $110 BB550 shoes from New Balance.

He said he also occasionally wears classic $150 Birkenstock clogs but never to work.

Reed Switzer, 24, founded the fintech company Hopscotch, which helps small businesses pay bills more easily.

He said he likes keeping his footwear "a little more basic" and subtle.

"I have plain white shoes from Vince that go with everything," he said. "You can't go wrong."

The Fulton sneakers he's talking about are made from leather and retail for $198.

Reid Waldman, 30, spends his days working as a dermatologist and the CEO of his biopharmaceutical company, Veradermics.

He told BI that the shoes he wears largely depend on how dressy his outfit is.

"If I'm wearing a blazer and slacks, then I'll wear loafers, like a pair from Ferragamo," he said. "If it's suit, I wear Oxfords."

He also buys most of his designer wardrobe secondhand.

"I don't think I've bought any brand-new clothes in several years," he told BI. "I am an avid shopper of The RealReal."

  • In an Instagram video, Lauren Sánchez shared details about her Blue Origin flight to space.
  • She said she'd fly with Katy Perry, Gayle King, and other women storytellers this spring.
  • Sánchez, Jeff Bezos' fiancée, wore an $18,120 necklace meant to bring luck.

Flying to space is expensive, but so is Lauren Sánchez's fashion.

On Thursday, Sánchez, a helicopter pilot and former journalist, shared details on Instagram about Blue Origin's all-women space flight while wearing a diamond necklace that cost more than $18,000.

The pricey piece wasn't just a fashion statement — it was also meant to bring her good luck.

The $18,120 necklace was made by the New York City brand Marlo Laz.

It features a gold paper-clip-style chain, a round pavé diamond clasp, and a statement charm embellished with a 6-carat white diamond.

The latter piece is also decorated with the French phrase "porte-bonheur," which translates to "lucky charm."

Sánchez is set to fly to space this spring alongside women whom she described as "extraordinary in all of their fields" and "incredible storytellers."

They are the musician Katy Perry, the "CBS Mornings" cohost Gayle King, the activist Amanda Nguyen, the aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, and the film producer Kerianne Flynn.

They'll travel via a rocket created by Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by Sánchez's fiancé, Jeff Bezos. Their journey is set to last about 11 minutes and take them past the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space. The company said it would be the first all-women flight since Valentina Tereshkova's solo mission in 1963.

Bezos has described Blue Origin as his "most important work" and has discussed his desire to bring space travel to the masses.

Only time will tell if Sánchez brings her lucky pendant along on her flight.

7 outfits that missed the mark at the 2025 SAG Awards — sorry

  • The 2025 SAG Awards were hosted in Los Angeles on Sunday.
  • A handful of celebrities missed the mark with their outfits.
  • For example, Jamie Lee Curtis and Zooey Deschanel wore looks that overwhelmed them.

Awards season continued on Sunday with the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Many stars arrived at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in stunning fashion. Some experimented with daring looks, while celebrity couples coordinated to perfection.

Unfortunately, a few attendees stood out because their outfits missed the mark.

Here's a look at the night's fashion moments that could have been better.

Zooey Deschanel's dress blended menswear and womenswear — but she should've stuck with one style.

Her black Giorgio Armani gown was perfect for a matching menswear moment with her fiancé Jonathan Scott.

However, when she walked the blue carpet alone, the long-sleeve piece with a white bib overpowered her petite frame.

It would have been better if Deschanel had fully leaned into a feminine or masculine style — like a classic black gown or a strong power suit.

Jamie Lee Curtis was going for glamour, but one piece of her outfit overwhelmed her.

She arrived at the event wearing a black, sparkling gown from Dolce & Gabbana — and it looked stunning on her.

Unfortunately, though, the dress and Curtis herself were overshadowed by a long-sleeved shawl covered in feathers. It was so puffy that it shielded her neck and almost covered her hands.

The piece seemed to wear Curtis rather than the other way around.

Tyler James Williams wore a suit that was stunning in color but also ill-fitting.

Williams' signature red-carpet style often includes oversize suit jackets styled with perfectly tailored trousers.

At the SAG Awards, he paired a large blazer featuring statement shoulder pads with long, loose-fitting pants. Together, the outfit appeared ill-fitting and a little messy.

Its maroon color, however, looked phenomenal on the actor.

Jeremy Strong made a bold fashion choice, but it didn't exactly pay off.

He posed for photographs in a sage-green outfit that was custom-made for him by Haans Nicholas Mott.

Though its unique shade worked for Strong, other various details did not. Its jacket, for example, had a string tie that was too casual for the overall look, while its satin lapels were too elevated.

His outfit might have been better if styled with a different jacket altogether.

Kerry Washington's shimmering gown had so much potential.

From the waist down, Washington's pink Armani Privé gown was fit for a princess. It was made with a shining silk fabric and embellished with a sheer, pearl-covered overlay.

Its long-sleeved top was also pretty, with a high neckline, all-over silver appliqués, and more pearls. That said, it was also see-through, which distracted from the gown's elegance.

A satin bra made from the same material as her skirt would have completed the outfit.

Millie Bobby Brown wore a peach dress that was underwhelming.

Louis Vuitton custom-made the actor's gown, which was sleeveless with a cowl neckline, floor-length skirt, and short train.

Though she elevated the look with some diamond jewelry, her gown's silhouette was ultimately too simple for the red-carpet event.

Its pale color also appeared to wash Brown out when paired with her bleach-blonde hair.

There was one simple problem with Demi Moore's edgy gown.

She wore a custom look from Bottega Veneta that should have worked for her. Its black color was classic, and its strapless neckline highlighted her gold jewelry.

Its bodice was made from leather and extended to create a drop-waist silhouette. But the harsh material didn't work as well as a softer one would have, especially considering the pleated peplum skirt it was paired with.

A woman had no idea what style engagement ring she wanted until she found a $12 piece at a Japanese antique store

20 February 2025 at 09:56
The custom engagement ring made for Adele Snowball.
The custom engagement ring Adele Snowball wears is inspired by one she thrifted for $12.

Adele Snowball

  • Model Adele Snowball shared the story of her proposal and engagement rings with Business Insider.
  • Her fiancé popped the question in Japan with a piece of toy jewelry from a vending machine.
  • He then surprised her with a $12 thrifted ring, which inspired her current custom piece.

You can thrift just about anything these days — and that includes your engagement ring.

Just ask Adele Snowball, a 32-year-old model from Australia.

She's always loved vintage jewelry and had permission from her mother to repurpose family heirloom pieces into an engagement ring when the time came.

So, when Oliver Raggat, her boyfriend of three years, proposed with a toy ring during a trip to Japan, it was time to start designing the real thing.

They didn't need to do much work, though.

To the couple's surprise, Snowball found all the inspiration she needed in a $12 secondhand ring at a Japanese antique store.

Adele Snowball and Oliver Raggatt met on Hinge and immediately bonded over music.

Raggatt, 32, had just moved back to his home city of Adelaide from Melbourne when they matched on the dating app, Snowball told Business Insider.

"Our first date was at a hidden blues bar. We found we had a lot in common, like music and our love of vinyl records," she said. "We ran in the same circles and had been to the same concerts."

Though they'd never met until that date, he'd even once watched Snowball walk in a fashion show.

"Since then, we've been inseparable," she said.

Raggatt wanted to surprise Snowball with a proposal during an August 2024 trip to Japan.

Raggatt knew that he and Snowball would one day design an engagement ring using her family's pieces. But he also wanted to surprise her.

Two weeks before their trip, he had the idea to find a Gashapon ring — a piece of costume jewelry from a Japanese toy vending machine — and propose with that first.

Snowball said she "wouldn't leave Olly's side" on their third day in the country, which is when he wanted to sneak off in search of the most "kitschy capsule ring he could find."

Luckily, Snowball chose to take a shopping break at Zara, which gave Raggatt the perfect opportunity.

Within 30 minutes, he'd found a Gashapon machine filled with rings resembling spilled Matcha. He inserted a few dollars, and out came a sage-green ring in a capsule box shaped like a bottle.

He proposed at Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu, the restaurant featured in Snowball's favorite film, "Kill Bill."

Snowball told BI she didn't expect a proposal during the trip until she noticed Raggatt acting nervous at the restaurant.

That's likely because he didn't know he'd propose until they got there.

"I looked around and thought to myself, 'If I were proposing to me, I would propose here.' My brain was racing with thoughts of how, when, where, and is this happening?" she said.

After a quick bathroom break to calm her nerves and text her friends, Snowball suggested that she and Raggatt take a selfie. As she set up her phone, he got down on one knee.

"I held my head in my hands and cried for what felt like two minutes but was probably 12 seconds," she said. "Finally, I looked up and said yes as he tried to put the ring on my shaking hand."

They ended their night with a romantic rainstorm and karaoke.

The couple enjoyed karaoke and the company of strangers to celebrate their engagement.

Adele Snowball

It was pouring rain when the couple left the restaurant, Snowball said, so they took shelter in an empty karaoke bar and called their friends and family to share the news.

"We then sang our favorite songs together, including 'My Sweet Lord' by George Harrison, which is our song," she added.

They then welcomed the company of some Japanese salarymen, or office workers, who had missed their train home. They chose to celebrate with them and buy the newly engaged couple drinks.

The following day, the couple stumbled upon the perfect accessory for their engagement ring.

The couple left Tokyo the day after getting engaged. On the way out, Raggatt stopped in their hotel's bathroom and found a large, plastic diamond on the floor.

"He came out and gave me the diamond, which I then put on the ring," Snowball recalled. "It fit perfectly!"

She said their creation gave them the idea to design a real engagement ring inspired by the colorful statement piece Raggatt proposed with.

To their surprise, Snowball's dream ring found her.

The couple traveled to Osaka, where they found a "full to the brim antique store" called the BB American Village Free Market.

While Raggatt browsed film cameras, Snowball shopped for jewelry. Though she wasn't looking for another engagement ring, one caught her eye.

"I tried it on, it fit my ring finger, and I took of photo of it for inspiration," she said. "Later on, Olly asked again what I think I might like for my real engagement ring. I said I wouldn't mind something like the one I saw in the store."

Ironically, it featured a green stone and a clear crystal — mirroring the green band and plastic diamond on her first engagement ring.

Raggatt secretly bought the ring and proposed again. Snowball, of course, said yes.

Adele Snowball

He snuck back to the market the following day and purchased the vintage piece for about $12.

Raggatt quickly worked with a local shop owner to plan another meaningful proposal.

"He had placed the ring in a Mickey Mouse wallet at one of those shooting games where the prizes are all on a shelf," Snowball said. "He is very good at this type of game and shot it down first go. Then he got back down on one knee to reveal the ring from the antique store."

As they celebrated their second engagement, the shop owner serenaded them with a rendition of "What a Wonderful World" on electric guitar.

The thrifted piece inspired Snowball's third and final engagement ring.

Not only did the colors of the thrifted ring match the toy ring that Raggatt proposed with, but Snowball's birthstone is also emerald.

So, the couple decided to work with jeweler Kip Wilkins to create another version of the secondhand piece using materials from rings belonging to her grandmother and great-grandmother.

"It all just seemed so right. I never gave it another thought," Snowball said.

The custom ring, which was made for Snowball in a month, features a lab-gown diamond and a green tsavorite garnet stone. They sit atop a bezel setting in 18-carat yellow gold.

The couple's proposal is something out of a storybook.

Adele Snowball

When asked if she wears her original two rings, Snowball said she doesn't. Instead, she keeps them both in the matcha-themed capsule box and plans to incorporate them into their wedding day, which they're planning for 2026.

"Whenever I look at the custom ring, I don't just think about how much it sparkles or how cool it is," Snowball said. "I think of how Olly proposed, the typhoon, 'Kill Bill,' drunken salarymen, and that it was found in a tiny Japanese antique store and reborn from my grandparents' gold."

Tom Brady casually wore a $3 million watch during Super Bowl weekend, and you probably missed it

  • Tom Brady showed off a $3 million watch in a YouTube video he posted about the 2025 Super Bowl.
  • The diamond-covered timepiece is a Billionaire Mini Ashoka from Jacob & Co.
  • It was even flashier than the $740,000 watch Brady wore during the big game.

Tom Brady is sharing his love of watches with his children.

The football legend and father of three turned heads during his Super Bowl broadcasting debut thanks to a flashy timepiece covered in sapphires and diamonds.

That watch, however, wasn't the only one in his possession that day.

As Brady revealed in a YouTube video posted on Tuesday, he also had a luxurious piece valued at $3 million on hand ahead of the big game in New Orleans.

His 15-year-old son, Benjamin, tried it on.

In the video, Brady asks Benjamin to close his eyes and put his wrist out.

"It feels shiny," Benjamin says as his dad clasps the sparkling watch around his wrist.

Though Brady hasn't shared details about the timepiece, Jacob & Co. confirmed to Business Insider that the watch featured in his video was the brand's Billionaire Mini Ashoka, which retails for $3 million.

It's made with 18-carat white gold, antireflective sapphire crystal, and more than 490 diamonds in various shapes. Collectively, they weigh 100.57 carats.

Only 18 of the watches have been made.

The "mini" watch, which Brady wore during pregame broadcasts, is even more valuable than the statement piece he chose for the game.

Brady swapped it out for a Caviar Tourbillon watch from the same brand, which retails for $740,000.

It features 48.92 carats of sapphires and 1.32 carats of diamonds, mirroring the appearance of shining caviar.

The pieces appear to be two of the watches Brady has held on to after auctioning 21 pieces from his extensive collection in December for $4.6 million.

Considering how luxurious both pieces are, it's no surprise that Brady's son was nearly speechless when he tried on the expensive jewelry.

In fact, he only said, "Woah."

I tried Rare Beauty's new contour. It's even better than the brand's iconic blush for one reason.

14 February 2025 at 03:35
Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Contour.

Rare Beauty

  • Rare Beauty has launched a contour line to complement its cult-favorite Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes.
  • I tried the product and instantly became a fan. It's subtle and blends like a dream.
  • It's also so easy to use that I'd say it's one of the brand's best makeup items.

The one beauty trend I've never fully adopted is contour.

Sure, I understand the appeal. Over the years, Kim Kardashian and multiple beauty influencers have convinced me to try the sculpting technique.

But I always felt like I was getting it wrong.

I could never place the product just right to suit my face shape, and even the lightest shades looked orange on my skin. I was also constantly worried that I left a spot unblended.

However, Rare Beauty has convinced me to give contour another shot.

The brand released its $28 Soft Pinch Liquid Contour in late January, and after trying it myself, I think it's easily one of its best products.

Turning a $70 million blush formula into contour

Rare Beauty is massively popular for multiple reasons.

First, the brand was founded by actor and musician Selena Gomez. Her countless fans — 421 million followers on Instagram alone, for example — have been customers from day one.

Mainly, though, Rare Beauty is known for making genuinely good makeup. I've tried its tinted moisturizer, lipsticks, and more and have thoroughly enjoyed almost every product — as have hundreds of other beauty fans.

Its Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is especially groundbreaking. Rare Beauty "moved 3.1 million units" of the product in 2022 and earned around $70 million in revenue on the blush alone, Bloomberg reported.

Rare Beauty is seemingly capitalizing on that success with its latest launch.

"Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, but make it contour," the brand's website says.

It's made with a similar formula, bottled in the same matte packaging, and is sold in seven shades.

The brand says it's as airy and blendable as its famed blush. It's also supposed to be long-lasting, easy to use, buildable, and dimensional without being cakey or muddy.

Rare Beauty

Rare Beauty's new contour is good. I can vouch for it.

As Rare Beauty recommends, I apply tiny dots of the liquid contour on the hollows of my cheeks and blend with a dense but fluffy brush. Sometimes, I also apply a bit across my forehead, jawline, and nose.

It smooths out like butter, instantly adding a subtle shadow to my face. I want my contour to be dimensional but light — almost like "no-makeup makeup."

In my experience, this product effortlessly achieves that. I can keep it simple or apply more to get a stronger contrast. I find it extremely buildable.

I'm most impressed by how easy this contour is to use. I feel like I can't mess up the technique or go overboard, which I've worried about with the brand's blush.

For that reason alone, I'd say this contour might actually be a better product.

Amanda Krause/Business Insider

Personally, I find the fairest shade, Gentle, to be ideal for my pale skin. There are no hues of orange to be found.

If you prefer a subtle contour like me, you might need to reapply the product after a few hours of wear. I've noticed that it starts to fade by the end of the workday.

Still, if any brand could convince me to get on the contour train, it's Rare Beauty. Now, I'll just wait for everyone else to join me.

Say goodbye to Stanley cups and Owala. People are obsessing over a new water bottle in 2025.

12 February 2025 at 03:29

  • Water bottles from Bink are trending in 2025, potentially replacing Stanley and Owala.
  • The brand's most popular option is made from glass, holds 27 ounces, and is covered with silicone.
  • Bink's popularity is being fueled by TikTok, and its products largely appeal to women.

It's the start of a new year and the latest water bottle craze.

You might remember when Stanley cups became popular in 2023, causing chaos in middle schools, Target stores, and online communities.

Then, Owala water bottles took over last year, attracting cool-girl customers everywhere.

Now, glass bottles with pastel-colored cases might just replace both.

Say hello to the Bink bottle.

What are Bink water bottles?

Bink is a family-owned drinkware company that focuses on making reliable, high-quality bottles, according to the brand's website. It was founded in 2017 — then selling baby-proofing products — and later transitioned to drinkware.

Bink products are designed in Seattle, and its founders — couple Ben Parfitt and Leslie Parfitt — are "directly involved in every step of the process," its website says.

It sells an assortment of tumblers, glass water bottles, and drinking accessories between $10 and $42 each, with its most popular product being the $38 Day Bottle.

The latter item is made from glass, holds 27 ounces, has hydration trackers down its side, and, most distinctly, is covered with a silicone case that comes in 17 colors.

Bink's Day Bottle is slightly more expensive than similar products from Stanley and Owala. For example, Stanley's 30-ounce stainless steel tumblers are available in more than 45 colors for $35 each, while Owala's 32-ounce FreeSip bottle costs $34.99 and comes in 20 colors.

However, Bink's bottles are more customizable. The brand sells individual caps, straws, and silicone sleeves on its website, meaning you can adjust the color scheme of your bottle to your liking.

Cute, convenient, and cool

Bink is seeing success this year in two places: TikTok and Target.

The brand launched bottles in new, exclusive colorways at the brick-and-mortar retailer and on Target's website in December 2024.

Around that time, TikTok videos about the bottles began popping up regularly — and they haven't stopped.

Fans on the social-media platform say they love the Day Bottle's convenient size, aesthetically pleasing design, and wide shape, which allows for ice.

According to some TikTok users, the bottles are especially popular with women and people in exercise communities.

"I don't make this up. Bink really is the status water bottle of the moment in the reformer Pilates sect," writer Erika Veurink wrote in the caption of a TikTok she posted about the brand.

@erikaveurink #greenscreen I don’t make this up #bink really is the status water bottle of the moment in the reformer Pilates sect. #coolgirl #pilates #fashionspy #waterbottle ♬ original sound - Erika Veurink

Of course, Bink bottles are meant to be reusable, as are most cups from trendy brands on the market.

So, some have called out fans of Bink and other companies who have posted about their newest water bottles online.

"The cool girls are drinking out of the same bottle they've had for like 10 years, not the latest one 🤷‍♀️," one TikToker said in response to a fan's Bink video.

But 2025 is already proving to be different in so many ways. Maybe this will be the year one water bottle finally sticks, and maybe it'll be from Bink.

8 fashion moments you need to see from the 2025 Super Bowl

  • There was a ton of fashion at Super Bowl LIX, from athlete outfits to celebrity ensembles.
  • Taylor Swift, for example, wore a necklace that nodded to Travis Kelce.
  • DeAndre Hopkins wore his late father's mink coat before the game.

There was a lot more to Super Bowl LIX than football.

Kendrick Lamar performed a statement-making halftime show, huge brands battled for attention during commercials, and Tubi made a bigger name for itself by streaming the event.

There was also a lot of standout fashion, from athletes to celebrity attendees.

If you were more focused on the game, here are some of the best style details you might have missed.

Tom Brady walked around with a $740,000 watch on his wrist.

Brady made his debut as a Super Bowl commentator on Sunday, and he did so in style.

To complement his gray suit and black tie, the former football player accessorized with a Caviar Tourbillon timepiece from Jacob & Co.

The watch featured 48.92 carats of yellow sapphires and 1.32 carats of white diamonds arranged in a cluster meant to resemble caviar. It also had an alligator leather strap.

Compared to other outfits Swift has worn to Chiefs games this season, her Super Bowl ensemble seemed overly simple.

However, it was actually expensive and sentimental.

She wore a $3,253 Saint Laurent blazer, a $1,300 Alaïa bodysuit, crystal-covered shorts, $1,120 Paris Texas boots, a $990 Givenchy purse, and ruby rings from Effy Jewelry that cost $12,495 and $5,195.

Swift also donned a ruby bracelet from the same brand, a $4,350 Logan Hollowell hand chain, a $32,200 Panthère watch from Cartier, and the same Lorraine Schwartz T-charm chain she first wore at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The casual look seemingly called back to the first outfit Swift ever wore to a Chiefs game: a white Dôen tank top and a black pair of Ksubi shorts.

The flashy chain Kendrick Lamar wore during his performance might have had a few subtle meanings.

When the rapper got onstage, you couldn't miss his diamond necklaces. The oversize pieces were layered and embellished with a massive "a" initial charm.

The latter piece could have referenced Lamar's ongoing feud with Drake in two ways.

Some fans say it might have stood for Aubrey, Drake's legal first name. Others pointed out that Lamar's "a" charm was lowercase and potentially meant to reference his famous "tryna strike a chord and it's probably a minor" lyric from "Not Like Us."

It's also possible that the charm more simply represented Lamar's creative company, pgLang, which uses the same style "a" in its logos.

Rather than wearing red or gold, Patrick Mahomes arrived wearing the Eagles' shade of green.

His pregame ensemble included a checked blazer and matching trousers in a teal shade that looked a lot like "midnight green," one of the Eagles' colors.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback also wore a blue tie, a white button-up shirt, and Oakley glasses.

Travis Kelce wore a few accessories, including a unique pin.

On Instagram, Kelce's stylist, Danielle Vanessa Salzedo, said the metallic flower pinned to his lapel was a real rose dipped in gold.

Amiri designed the pin, his '70s-style suit, and his sunglasses.

His suit, on the other hand, was originally designed for women.

The ensemble debuted at Paris Fashion Week in January, featuring the same orange-tinted blazer, trousers, and sparkling undershirt Kelce wore.

The brand's designer, Mike Amiri, told GQ that Kelce was the perfect person to wear the outfit, regardless of who it was originally designed for.

"He's just such a great person to dress because he can wear clothes, clothes don't wear him. He can make anything kind of work," he told the publication.

DeAndre Hopkins donned a fur coat that honored his family.

As ESPN reported, the mink coat belonged to Hopkins' father, who died in 1992 around the time his son was born.

The wide receiver previously told the network that he'd wear it on his wedding day or at the Super Bowl, depending on which happened first.

"My dad was a leader of the family, leader of our community," Hopkins told ESPN. "So it means a lot just being able to have a little bit of him with me."

Taylor Swift kept her Super Bowl outfit surprisingly simple, but it still cost over $60,000

  • Taylor Swift attended Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans while wearing an understated outfit.
  • Her look included a Saint Laurent blazer, Alaïa bodysuit, and jewelry made with rubies and diamonds.
  • The ensemble, which cost over $60,000, echoed the first look Swift wore to a Chiefs game in 2023.

After a season of bold gameday outfits, Taylor Swift kept things simple on Sunday at the 2025 Super Bowl.

She traveled to New Orleans for the big game and attended with friends and family to support her boyfriend, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

If you were expecting the "Tortured Poets Department" musician to wear a flashy outfit, you could have missed her. Swift stood in the stands wearing an understated look, including a white bodysuit, denim jeans, and over-the-knee boots.

That said, there was more to her outfit than meets the eye.

Swift's subtle ensemble, which had sentimental symbolism, retails for over $60,000.

When Swift entered the Caesars Superdome — where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 — she was photographed wearing a $3,253 double-breasted white blazer from Saint Laurent.

The outerwear was draped over a $1,300 white bodysuit from Alaïa and crystal-covered shorts in a light-wash denim.

She also wore a pair of $1,120 white leather boots from the brand Paris Texas and carried a $990 red leather purse from Givenchy.

As has become custom for Swift, she also made sure she was dripping in jewels.

Most noticeably, the musician wore the T-charm leg chain she debuted at the 2025 Grammys, this time as a statement necklace. Swift and Lorraine Schwartz codesigned the ruby-adorned piece.

She donned two ruby rings from Effy Jewelry, originally retailing for $12,495 and $5,195. Swift also wore a ruby bracelet from the same brand, a $4,350 Logan Hollowell hand chain, and a $32,200 diamond-encrusted Panthère watch from Cartier.

It's also become customary for the songwriter to infuse symbolism into her outfits, from red-carpet looks to streetwear ensembles.

Super Bowl LIX was no different.

As the fashion writer Sarah Chapelle wrote on her Swift-focused blog, the simple Super Bowl outfit may have been a nod to the first outfit Swift ever wore to a Chiefs game.

In September 2023, she made her WAG (wives and girlfriends) debut in a white Dôen tank top and black denim shorts from Ksubi.

Her latest outfit was basically a more glamorous and high-fashion take on the same style.

Rumors have circulated that the 2025 Super Bowl may have been Kelce's final game in the NFL.

If that turns out to be true, Swift's expensive, sentimental outfit was the perfect choice to conclude the football chapter of their love story.

  • Taylor Swift attended 10 NFL games in the 2024-2025 season, including the Super Bowl.
  • Some of her gameday outfits were better than others.
  • Her best looks balanced team spirit and fashion.

As the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs at the 2025 Super Bowl on Sunday, all eyes were on Taylor Swift, naturally.

Well, the eyes of Swifties and fashion fans were anyway, as Swift attended the game to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The singer attended 10 games during the 2024-2025 NFL season, including the Super Bowl. Sometimes, she attended in vintage Chiefs gear, while at others, she wore stylish coordinating sets.

Take a look at the best and worst outfits Swift wore to NFL games this season.

Swift arrived at the 2024-2025 NFL season opener to support the Chiefs in a denim set.

She paired the $1,325 Medusa '95 denim corset top with coordinating denim shorts from Grlfrnd, which were available on Revolve for $102. Her maroon boots from Giuseppe Zanotti, which cost $1,650, were a high-fashion way to incorporate team spirit for the Chiefs.

Her accessories, including a $3,950 Louis Vuitton Side Trunk bag and over $60,000 worth of jewelry, made the look even more glamorous.

That same month, Swift wore a sporty shirt dress for another of her best looks of the season.

The 1995 Salem T-shirt, featuring the Chiefs logo, became a dress on Swift, as it was so long it covered her thighs.

The tee showed off her thigh-high Giuseppe Zanotti Frannie boots, which cost $1,650, and Swift carried the $4,800 Louis Vuitton Coussin bag.

High-end jewelry, like Louis Vuitton's $625 My LV Chain earrings, added to the sporty ensemble.

Swift kept up her streak of best looks with a coordinating, plaid set at an October game.

Swift turned to Vivienne Westwood for an October game. She paired the brand's $1,875 Sunday corset with the matching $1,010 Meghan kilt, both of which featured plaid fabric with pops of maroon in honor of the Chiefs.

Vivienne Westwood also designed her $1,270 boots and $590 Belle heart-frame Jacquard bag. She added over $46,000 worth of jewelry and glitter faux freckles from Fazit.

The freckles gave the high-fashion look a whimsical twist that was perfect for the game.

Although she wore a cool jacket, Swift's shorts and simple top were a bit lackluster at a November game.

Swift made her vintage Chiefs jacket the star of her outfit for this game, wearing the red, yellow, and black piece with a black top and black shorts from Agolde, which she cinched with a $630 belt from The Row.

Swift's other accessories were also black, like her $2,195 Louboutin boots and $3,900 Dior saddle bag. Gold jewelry, including a $4,475 Chanel necklace, a $4,150 ring from Retrouvai, $595 earrings, and a $3,150 ring from Louis Vuitton, elevated the look.

The outfit was cute, but it was underwhelming compared to Swift's other looks for the 2024-2025 season.

The checked, red set she wore in November didn't strike the right tone for a football game.

Swift's $3,350 red-and-black checked blazer and $1,695 skirt from Versace were the stars of her outfit. She paired the professional pieces with a $34.99 Victoria's Secret corset and Versace's $1,650 Medusa 95 leather knee-high boots.

Swift carried the $2,190 Medusa 95 small tote bag from Versace. She also wore several pieces of high-end jewelry, including the $54,000 gold Tambour Watch from Louis Vuitton and a $32,970 ring from Retrouvai.

The outfit was stylish, but it made Swift look more like a team owner than a WAG. She also wore a better check-patterned look later in the season.

Swift's skinny jeans and chunky boots created an outdated look.

She attended a November game wearing a red Louis Vuitton quarter zip that looked cozy and festive for the occasion. Swift paired the top with $249 pants from Paige, which she tucked into her $1,650 Maison Alaïa boots.

The combination called back to popular fashion of the early 2010s, though it didn't translate as well in 2025. A simpler pair of shoes or wide-legged pants could have improved the outfit.

She strutted into Arrowhead Stadium that day wearing a statement coat from Charlotte Simone. The piece was crafted with faux fur in a vibrant shade of red and had extra fuzzy pieces lining its sleeves, hem, and neckline.

Swift also accessorized to perfection, adding a vintage Chanel bucket hair, sheer black tights, $1,695 Manolo Blahnik boots, and a Tod's messenger bag.

The designer look included a $4,650 wool jumpsuit beneath a $9,600 tweed coat. Swift also added a monogrammed belt with oversize pearls, sheer black tights, Canada Goose gloves, earrings, a purse, and Chanel boots.

She wore the all-black outfit in the middle of January. It was chic and sophisticated but also loose and comfortable enough to sit through a football game.

Her AFC Championship look was divisive, and for good reason.

Swift made a bold move when she attempted to bring back the logomania trend with a $5,000 monogrammed zip-up jacket from Louis Vuitton and a $550 beanie with the same logo.

However, her red tights really didn't work with the black and gold outfit, which cost over $68,000. The tights were too bold in color and too fun in style to complement the cool, streetwear-style garments that comprised the rest of her look.

Swift's outfit for the 2025 Super Bowl had some sweet hidden meanings, but overall, it was lackluster for the big game.

Rather than rocking red for the Chiefs, Swift arrived at the 2025 Super Bowl in a simple outfit worth over $60,000.

She paired the $3,253 YSL double-breasted blazer with the $1,300 sleeveless ribbed bodysuit from Alaïa, both in shades of white. Sparkly denim shorts offered a pop of color in the look, though she circled back to white with her $1,120 over-the-knee boots from the brand Paris Texas.

Swift also brought color into her look through her accessories, like her $999 Givenchy bag and ruby-encrusted jewelry.

She re-wore the "T" leg chain she debuted at the 2025 Grammys as a necklace, nodding to Kelce and her lyric, "I want to wear his initial on a chain round my neck," from her song "Call It What You Want."

Likewise, her tank top and jean shorts offered a cute reference to Swift's outfit for her first Chiefs game in September 2023.

Despite the nods to her relationship with Kelce, Swift's outfit didn't stand out compared to some of the other looks she wore throughout the 2024-2025 season, as it just looked like a white blazer and boots from a distance.

It would have been nice to see Swift have a little more fun with her outfit for such a big game.

Meet 'Republican hair': It's blonde, bouncy, and really doesn't have a political party

  • Polished, blonde blowouts have become associated with Republican women in recent years.
  • However, hairstylists say the style is trending beyond political circles in 2025.
  • Influenced by quiet luxury fashion, the hairstyle is seen as timeless, feminine, and professional.

Television figure Tomi Lahren, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Donald Trump's daughter, Tiffany Trump, all have one noticeable thing in common.

No, it's not the fact that they're prominent members of the Republican Party. It's their blonde, bouncy, blown-out hair.

The three conservative figures are among many in their orbit who regularly wear the classic hairstyle. In fact, the look has become so synonymous with these women that everyone from hairstylists to observers has taken to simply calling it "Republican hair."

Despite its partisan moniker, the hairstyle is not reserved for news pundits and Republican politicians — especially in 2025. As two hairstylists told Business Insider, you'll probably see it everywhere this year.

What exactly is Republican hair?

Renee Benedict, a hairstylist who works in Kansas City, Missouri, and Washington, DC, described "Republican hair" to BI as a classic blowout with long, rounded layers and weight at the bottom.

"When I think of this style, it's one that shows you have thick, healthy hair. That's really the goal, and you want to see shape," she said.

That flowing, lightly-curled form can be styled onto short haircuts but is most recognizable on longer tresses — especially when they're blonde.

That's why it was no surprise that Tiffany Trump, Lara Trump, and Carrie Underwood wore nearly the same hairstyle at Donald Trump's inauguration.

DC hairstylist Bethany O'Connell said the most Republican-esque shades are "high-maintenance" and "old-money driven." In other words, they're bright, bleached, and require salon visits to maintain.

"The clean girl aesthetic was slicked back and harsh for so long," Benedict said. "Feminine softness is really starting to come back."

"Republican hair" is the ultimate contrast, and Benedict says it's even better at portraying how much you care about your appearance.

"It's polished, refined, professional," Benedict said of the Republican-adjacent hair. "You want to look like you have your stuff together and like you care. You want to look like you invest in your appearance. The biggest part of it is the effort."

DC residents want in on the trend

The Republican-style blowout matches the political party's core values in many ways: It's traditional, gendered, and subtly portrays wealth.

And more Republicans in office means that conservative styles are becoming more prominent and influential in the media than they have been over the last four years.

O'Connell told BI that while some people in DC specifically request "Republican hair" and bring photos of politicians as references, most seek celebrity-style blowouts and "Barbie blonde."

"Here in DC, it's a lot of Margot Robbie," O'Connell said.

Still, to buy in, you have to spend. Coloring services are expensive — they can cost upward of $200 — and require regular maintenance appointments.

It's also worth noting that fashion trends have shifted to suit wealth and modesty in recent years.

Quiet luxury accessories and old-money outfits are just two examples of trends — both influenced by politics and the economy, whether fashion fans realize it or not — that were especially popular in 2023 and 2024.

Of course, the traditional, old-money look isn't reserved for Republicans. One of the most common sources of inspiration for the trend was former first lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who was married to a Democratic president.

However, it's clear that fashion and politics in the US are changing. "Hair has to change with it," Benedict said.
