Travis Kelce fires back at claims Chiefs lost on purpose to hurt Bengals: 'I ain't scared of f---ing nobody'

8 January 2025 at 09:25

Travis Kelce wants to make it clear: the Kansas City Chiefs did not lose to the Denver Broncos on purpose to keep the Cincinnati Bengals out of the playoffs.

After the Bengals beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, they needed both the Miami Dolphins and the Broncos to lose to make the playoffs.

The New York Jets ended up beating the Dolphins, but the Broncos demolished the Chiefs, winning 38-0, and eliminating the Bengals from the playoffs.

The Chiefs rested a lot of their starters in the loss, including Patrick Mahomes and Kelce, because they already had the AFC’s No. 1 seed clinched.

Jason Kelce brought up to Travis that people were alleging that the Chiefs purposely lost to the Broncos to keep the Bengals out of the playoffs during a recent episode of "New Heights."

The Chiefs star tight end vehemently denied that the team lost on purpose.

"I ain’t scared of f---ing nobody. I wanted them (Bengals) in the f---ing playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one by one, like Mortal Kombat. I don’t even want this to be like a, we play the lowest seed. Just give me the best teams," Travis said.

"AFC, NFC, give me all of them, Mortal Kombat style. I’ll go through every f---ing one of them just giving them my best f---ing effort. I ain’t scared of a single soul man."

Jason further egged his brother on, saying that people said the Chiefs did not want to play in "Burrowhead," which is the Bengals fans' nickname for the Chiefs' home-field, GEHA field at Arrowhead Stadium, or Cincinnati.

EX-NFL QUARTERBACK SHOWS MASSIVE SCOPE OF CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES: 'MUCH WORSE THAN PEOPLE THINK'

"I’ll play them at the Walmart parking lot. I don’t give a s---, we can have our own game in the offseason where we really duke it out again," Travis responded. "Listen, I love competing against the greatest. The Bengals were a fun a-- f---ing team to watch there towards the end of the season, and it’s a shame they didn’t make it in the playoffs because it would have made the playoffs that much f---ing crazier and that much more fun."

In the wake of missing the playoffs, the Bengals fired defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, a move Travis did not understand.

"I don’t know what the f--- is going on over there. That was a wild, wild move I did not see coming because I thought that, you know, from the outside, their defense was playing really f---ing good towards the end of the year," Kelce said.

"I’ve always respected the hell out of him, I’ve also respected a lot of the players on that side of the ball given who they had this year."

Kelce said he thought the Bengals were "10 times better than what their record showed" and then doubled down on the point that the Chiefs did not throw their game against Denver.

"We didn’t f---ing throw any game, alright. Guys were out there competing their a-- off, trying to get a win. Unfortunately, we couldn’t put drives together. We couldn’t stop Denver, and it just wasn’t a fun game to be part of, and I’m just sitting here on the sidelines like, ‘Hey boys, don’t let this s--- ruin our f---ing mojo.’ When we got everybody rolling, and its go time we got to flip that switch and know we’re the biggest, baddest team out there," Kelce said.

The Broncos will travel to take on the No. 2-seeded Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round, while Kelce’s Chiefs will sit back and watch the opening round of the playoffs at home as they earned a first-round bye.

As for the Bengals, they are now in need of a new defensive coordinator, and have big questions coming up surrounding their star wide receivers. Tee Higgins is an impending free agent, and Ja’Marr Chase is due for a lucrative contract extension.

Chiefs' Travis Kelce fined more than $14K for celebration after historic TD: reports

5 January 2025 at 09:30

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce celebrated his historic touchdown catch last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a nod to the legendary Tony Gonzalez.

Kelce dunked the football through the goalposts as Gonzalez did during the course of his career with the Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons. The touchdown from Kelce was the 77th of his career, which passed Gonzalez on the all-time list.

But the celebration hurt him more in the wallet than anything else.

Kelce was fined $14,069 for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct Use of Prop," according to multiple reports. Luckily, it appeared Gonzalez knew the fine was coming.

"lol! I got u," Gonzalez wrote on X, while also complimenting the dunk.

Kelce hasn’t had the typical season Chiefs fans are used to seeing. He started out of the gate incredibly slow, failing to pick up the first touchdown catch of the season until the Las Vegas Raiders game on Oct. 27.

TEXANS' CJ STROUD REVEALS FAITHFUL ANSWER WHEN ASKED ABOUT 2025 GOALS

He has 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns this season. His receiving yards total is the lowest it's been since the 2014 season – the second year he was in the league. His touchdown total is the lowest of his career. He had four touchdown catches in 2016.

Kelce was still voted to the Pro Bowl thanks to fan support. It’s the 10th selection of his career.

Kansas City will wrap up the regular season against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The team has a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

The return of the wife guy: Why loving Priscilla made Mark Zuckerberg cool

3 January 2025 at 01:04

  • In 2024, Mark Zuckerberg was the ultimate wife guy.
  • He doted on his wife, Priscilla Chan, with elaborate gifts like a statue of herself.
  • A therapist explained why people become wife guys and how it can benefit one's public image.

2024 was a great year for Mark Zuckerberg — and it came with an image makeover. It's the year he became a "wife guy."

Zuckerberg gifted his wife, Priscilla Chan, a 7-foot statue of herself, a custom-made Porsche minivan, a recording of him singing their anniversary song (with T-Pain himself), and a disco party, just because "Disco queen wanted a party."

Wife guys have been the butts of jokes since 2017 when Instagram user Robbie Tripp went viral for praising his "curvy wife." In their spousal-championing, wife guys like Tripp have drawn praise and skepticism from onlookers.

Not so in 2024.

Zuckerberg's public tributes to his wife earned him some glowing headlines, even from his detractors, with people aspiring to form a similar relationship. Other prominent wife guys (or, in Travis Kelce's case, girlfriend guys) have garnered similar positive press. Jett Puckett, a social media influencer, is now one-half of "TikTok's favorite couple," gushing over his wife in their posts.

Isabelle Morley, a couples therapist, told Business Insider that wife guys are exciting because they represent greater equality in monogamous relationships. As women have become more independent over the past decades, "men are shifting into a role that was traditionally only for women, which is being a supportive partner," she said.

In 2024, we saw a swing toward more traditional relationships and a yearning for big romance — the desire for stronger, unambiguously loving partnerships. A 2024 Tinder report, for example, found that users are looking for more "cherry bombing," consistent gestures of affection. Instead of looking out for red flags, they wanted "white flags" to signal a higher form of love.

It's why Zuckerberg's public adoration of his wife is a boon for his marriage and reputation.

Being a wife guy is a PR power move

Zuckerberg, 40, and Chan, 39, met at Harvard and started dating in 2003 before getting married in 2012. While the couple, who have three children, have been in the public eye for many years, running a philanthropy organization together, the custom statues and cars are a seemingly new element in their relationship.

Morley has had clients who became more vocal wife guys later in their marriages. From her experience, these changes usually boil down to two reasons:

  1. The marriage is on the brink of divorce, and it's a last-ditch effort to keep it together (and dispel any rumors of a split).
  2. A husband may have gone to therapy and realized where he might be lacking as a partner. This realization can give them "a new sense of commitment and excitement to be the other person's champion," Morley said.

With public figures, it can also be a professional decision. "We could never weed out if there are ulterior motives for him doing that or if they've agreed that this is something that they want for their public image if they've got a whole PR team," she said.

Zuckerberg has had his share of controversies. Meta has been in hot water for showing political bias to both parties, how it collects user data, and being addictive to children. On a personal level, Zuckerberg's been known for his awkwardness and blunt delivery, particularly in the early years of his Facebook stardom.

His image revamp, complete with a style makeover and a more confident stage presence, helps soften the criticism — as does generously spending part of his $187 billion fortune on his wife.

Striking the right wife guy balance

Wife guys can be polarizing, and how they dote on their wives matters. Some, like I did in a 2017 tweet about Tripp, criticized the applause: was it really that groundbreaking to love an objectively beautiful woman? Tripp's positive attention curdled into backlash, and while his brand still revolves around loving his curvy wife, the reviews remain mixed.

The biggest critique of wife guys is that they're not actually devoted to their relationships. Some may "overcompensate by publicly acting as though there could be no doubts to their loyalty," Morley said, living a life very different from the facade they constructed.

One internet-famous example is Ned Fulmer, one of the four original Try Guys. Fulmer was known for frequently name-dropping Ariel, his wife with whom he seemed to have the ultimate marriage. Then, in 2022, Fulmer was caught cheating on her with a younger coworker, shattering his loving husband image. Another prominent wife guy, Adam Levine, had a similar marital scandal that same year.

Morley said there's no way to tell the authenticity of a wife guy. Some men are truly in awe of their partners, and overdoing it on social media isn't necessarily an indicator of nefariousness. One definite red flag is "stomping all over their wife's space and image and dominating it," where the wife becomes a clear accessory rather than her own person.

Zuckerberg's brand of wife guy has earned him praise. He usually refers to Priscilla by her first name, and their couple selfies break up his other content, like his jiu-jitsu snaps. It's part of his larger public persona pivot, not the feature, making the romance feel more legitimate.

A collective thirst for big romance

In a time of dating app hell, Zuckerberg, who boasts about being with the same woman since college and actively participates in his children's lives, offers an image that some might find more encouraging.

"It's showing that it's OK for men to view having a positive relationship as an accomplishment — it's not just career success," Morley said. Seeing an "alpha" like Zuckerberg gush about his wife shows men that "they're allowed to be in love, to be romantic — that's not 'being soft' or 'being whipped.'"

It also offers a more wholesome alternative to social media and online dating. Professionally, Zuckerberg is overseeing Meta's foray into the dating app world. Personally, he's logging off: staying fit, throwing parties, and listening to what his wife wants in a custom luxury car — the wife he met the old-fashioned way.

It's a vision that strikes the right chord today, Morley said.

"That wives aren't just the support person or best friend character, that they are an equal partner is a really good message for people to be taking."

Caitlin Clark says college transfers should sit out a year amid 'egregious' recruiting tactics

2 January 2025 at 17:08

Caitlin Clark let her guard down, sharing a hot take on Travis and Jason Kelce's "New Heights" podcast Thursday.

Clark spoke out against the frequency of athletes using the transfer portal in college, especially in football.

"Where college recruitment has gone is insane," Clark said.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

She agreed with Travis that the NCAA should revert to its previous rules that players who transfer from school to school should have to sit out a full year before playing for a new school. However, Clark said exceptions should be made for athletes on teams that lose a head coach.

"I agree," Clark said when Travis spoke of bringing back the old system. "Or you get a free pass if your coach leaves. … But now we have people on their fourth school in their seventh year. It's just getting egregious."

Players have been transferring at historic rates in recent years after the transfer portal was introduced in October 2018. Prior to the introduction of the transfer portal, athletes needed permission from their coaches or athletic directors and were often denied those requests.

The transfer portal became even more frequently used after the legalization of NIL deals by universities as recruiting incentives in 2021. From 1906 until the summer of 2021, players were forbidden from profiting from their college athletic careers in any way.

HOW CAITLIN CLARK BATTLED THROUGH CULTURE WARS EN ROUTE TO HISTORIC 2024

Now, NIL is often a top factor for many athletes when choosing a school.

"It's crazy. … Adam Schefter is reporting like, 'Yes, they’ve negotiated a new deal for him to stay at the university,' and I'm like, ‘Yeah, where else is he going to go?’" Clark said.

In 2023, the NCAA tried to tighten its restrictions, introducing a new rule that only allowed underclassmen to transfer once without having to sit out a year. But an additional transfer as an undergraduate required the NCAA to grant a waiver allowing the athlete to compete immediately.

But the rule incited so much controversy, the NCAA was forced to put out a statement condemning "violent — and possibly criminal — threats directed at committee members" over the rule. The NCAA eventually gave up on the rule in March 2024 in response to a lawsuit from the U.S. Education Department, the District of Columbia and 10 states.

Athletes are now more free and incentivized than ever to transfer. Clark never took advantage of this system.

She spent her entire four-year NCAA women's basketball career at Iowa. She told the Kelces college sports has lost a sense of amateurism that separated it from pro sports.

"It's kind of sad. You lost a little bit of that amateurism of college sports, and that's why it's so fun," Clark said. "It's basically minor league football now."

Travis agreed with Clark.

"I'm too old school. I didn't get the opportunity to transfer, so," Travis said.

Travis spent four years at the University of Cincinnati from 2009-12 but only played three football seasons after he was suspended his sophomore season in 2010 for using marijuana.

Jason, who played his entire college career at Cincinnati as a walk-on running back who converted to offensive line, criticized players who leave before the playoffs.

"I don't think that people should be leaving before the playoffs. I think they should figure that out. I kind of think there should be a commitment level from the player of the university that there isn't right now," he said.

Travis Kelce receives most fan votes for 2025 Pro Bowl

31 December 2024 at 18:42

Travis Kelce has not put up his typical numbers in the 2024 football season, but apparently it doesn't matter much to his fans.

Despite the – by his standards – subpar season, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end managed to garner the most votes by fans for the 2025 Pro Bowl.

He racked up 252,200 votes from fans, and it's fair to say that his relationship with Taylor Swift likely boosted that number.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Kelce and Swift began dating in September last year, significantly increasing his already sky-high popularity, but outside of football circles.

After winning Super Bowl LVII, Kelce was tabbed to host Saturday Night Live, and he had already dipped his toes in reality television, but dating Swift took his name to a whole new level.

This year would be Kelce's 10th Pro Bowl selection. He has 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns this season.

However, this will in all likelihood be the first time since 2015 that Kelce will play at least 16 games and fail to get 1,000 yards. Kelce played in 15 last year, missing his first game due to injury since his rookie season, and garnered 984.

Jahmyr Gibbs had just under 2,000 fewer votes than Kelce as the second-highest vote getter.

NFL TEAMS DOING 'EXTENSIVE HOMEWORK' ON JON GRUDEN SINCE CONTROVERSIAL EMAILS AS OFFSEASON APPROACHES: REPORT

Kelce isn't the only member of the Chiefs to slow down on offense. In fact, it's been a team-wide epidemic. However, an elite defense and balls bouncing the right way, sometimes quite literally, have propelled them to a 15-1 season so far and the No. 1 seed in the AFC after back-to-back Super Bowl championships.

Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow and Jared Goff rounded out the top five.

This is the third year of the Pro Bowl Games after the NFL eliminated its full-contact all-star contest and replaced it with a week of skills competitions and a flag football game.

The games take place in Central Florida and finish with a 7-on-7 flag football game between the AFC and NFC at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Feb. 2.

Retired Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning will be back as head coaches for the two conferences.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

  • Getty Images released its top sports photos of 2024.
  • Photographers captured athletes from around the world as they competed in the Olympic Games.
  • Beyond Paris, the sports world stayed active, with the Super Bowl, Euros, World Series, and more.

Olympic years are a particularly special time for sports, and 2024 was no different.

As crowds gathered in Paris to watch their favorite athletes compete, the world's biggest stars rose to the occasion. From Simone Biles' triumphant return to the Olympic stage to Julien Alfred winning Saint Lucia's first Olympic medal, the events in Paris captured much of the sport world's attention this year.

And yet, there were still so many more moments to celebrate.

Michael Heiman, VP of global sport at Getty Images, told Business Insider, "It was a busy year. The summer Olympics is always kind of at the height of the sports calendar, the four-year cycle," adding, "But the other thing is that stuff doesn't stop just because it's an Olympic year."

As the ninth-largest industry in the world — worth $2.65 trillion, according to the Global Institute of Sport — sports smashed new barriers this year, and photographers were there to capture the emotions and history-making moments.

The growth of women's sports was particularly impactful in 2024, and is only gaining momentum. More than 18 million people watched Iowa and South Carolina compete in the NCAA women's basketball championship, the WNBA secured an 11-year media rights deal worth about $2.2 billion, and women's sports merchandise alone is estimated to be worth $4 billion.

As the world raises its expectations for sport in 2025, here's a look at 25 of Getty's top 100 sport photos of the year.

Heiman told BI that the World Aquatics Championships in Doha was the first major event where Getty used its new underwater robotic camera.

"This is a camera we spent the last two years developing," he said, adding that the first version was built in 2015.

To capture the action, the camera was put underwater "a few days" before competition, then photographers were "able to fully control it like a video game" from the pool deck or in the media center.

"What the photographers are really looking for is to tell the story of artistic swimming. It's beautiful from above, but so much happens underwater and you see just all the coordination that it takes to lift this athlete up," Heiman said.

He added, "But really using the reflection that you get from the water above to kind of make this mirror image, it really speaks to what all it takes, everything that goes into performing some of these sequences."

Of course, it's hard to talk about sports in 2024 without mentioning Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, and one of their biggest moments was the kiss they shared after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to win Super Bowl LVIII.

As one of two Getty Images photographers allowed on the field after the game, "Ezra [Shaw] was tasked with finding Travis and staying as close to Travis as possible, which is really, really hard in this environment," Heiman said.

"There's tons of people, everyone's pushing. You have security, you have other members of media, you have TV, and [Shaw] was just able to get in the right place and get this kind of, the guy wins the game, he gets the girl kind of photo, which was iconic and seen by everyone," he added.

The World Aquatics Championships also saw Annika Bornebusch of Team Denmark compete in the women's 20-meter high dive on February 14.

Dougherty was one of four competitors to advance to the bull-riding finals, which was won by Creek Young.

In addition to competing at The American Rodeo, some of Dougherty's 2024 career highlights include winning the Western Stampede, the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo, and the Sisters Rodeo. He's also a one-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo.

Thanks to Getty Images' partnership with the New Zealand Olympic Committee, Heiman said photographer Phil Walter was able to "mount a waterproof small action camera on the front of this canoe" in order to "really give you insight into what these athletes are kind of experiencing as they come down the course."

He added that the end result is a credit to collaborating with the athlete and organizers to ensure that everything was safe and not impeding performance.

Butcher went on to compete in his first Olympic Games in Paris, where he won gold in the inaugural men's kayak cross event.

Unlike other surfing events where photographers can shoot from the beach, Heiman said the Shiseido Tahiti Pro requires photographers to capture the action from small boats since the waves break about a kilometer off shore.

He added that while there were plenty of "amazing photos during Paris," he wanted to highlight this one because it's "about the preparation."

"You know, [Haffey's] out on the water for 12 hours. There's tons of spray," Heiman said, adding, "What kind of protection do you need for your cameras? What lenses do you need? How does the sunlight work? So, we sent [Haffey] to cover the Tahiti Pro before Paris as a preparation for Paris. So when we got there, we knew exactly what we wanted to do and what we needed to do."

Though Heiman said this photo doesn't necessarily look unique, it is because the technology used to capture it was actually five years in the making.

The process started in 2019 at the World Athletics Championships in Doha when the company first communicated with the event's broadcaster about mounting a camera on their rig.

After a small action camera didn't yield the desired quality, they decided to move forward with a bigger camera that was used in Paris and was wirelessly triggered by photographer Richard Heathcote, who was in the media center.

"[Heathcote] was actually our robotics photographer, so while he was shooting this picture, he was also manning two robots that are in the roof, following the action with a little joystick," Heiman said, adding that Heathcote also had a foot pedal controlling a camera. "So all in, there's about 15 remotes on this moment, and [Heathcote's] controlling kind of all of them, as I kind of joke, ends up like a drummer, right?"

"It's just a really good composition. You have the Olympic rings, you have Paris in there, you know where it is, you see the purple lights in the background, all the nation's flags in the background. It's just a really amazing athletics photo and a really unique one," Heiman said.

Chiefs great Tony Gonzalez vows to pay Travis Kelce's fine after record-breaking touchdown

26 December 2024 at 16:22

Tony Gonzalez is a man of his word.

Travis Kelce surpassed the Hall of Fame tight end to break the Kansas City Chiefs’ franchise record for touchdown receptions in the team’s Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kelce hauled in his 77th career receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter to put his name in the record books alongside Gonzalez. Paying tribute to the Chiefs’ great, Kelce then dunked the ball over the goal post.

The celebration drew a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, but it didn’t make a difference to veteran kicker Harrison Butker, who nailed the extra-point attempt.

During Prime Video’s pregame broadcast, Gonzalez vowed to pay Kelce’s fine in the event that he emulated his famous touchdown celebration.

"I am so happy for him. He is one of the best tight ends to ever do it on [and] off the field," he said. "I’ve been following him since he was a rookie, and I’m not surprised by it. He is one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

PATRICK MAHOMES REVEALS CRUCIAL PROMISE THAT WAS FULFILLED AS CHIEFS GRAB NO 1 SEED IN PLAYOFFS

"If he dunks it, I will pay that fine."

Kelce responded to Gonzalez’s post on X celebrating the accomplishment and reminded him of the offer he made prior to the game.

"You know I had to show love to the greatest of all time," Kelce wrote. "You did mention you’d help me with the fine tho."

Gonzalez obliged, happily.

"I got you!"

Chiefs clinch No. 1 seed, first-round bye in playoffs with dominant win over Steelers

25 December 2024 at 13:49

The Kansas City Chiefs gave their fans a gift on Christmas with a win that clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Chiefs rolled over the Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-10, clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC on Christmas Day.

Kansas City started out fast and never looked back, going up 13-0 after scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions.

It looked like the Steelers were going to respond immediately when running back Jaylen Warren had an 8-yard rushing touchdown, but it was called back due to a holding penalty.

On the play after the penalty, Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson threw an interception in the end zone, and the Steelers missed out on a chance to cut into the lead.

Despite getting stopped in the red zone, Wilson had success on the next drive.

The Steelers quarterback scrambled for a 1-yard rushing touchdown, capping an 11-play, 72-yard drive to make the score 13-7.

NETFLIX'S NFL CHRISTMAS DAY COVERAGE EXPERIENCES MISCUES

After halftime, the teams traded field goals to make it 16-10, and then the Chiefs pulled away.

Patrick Mahomes engineered an 11-play, 77-yard drive that ended with a Kareem Hunt 2-yard rushing touchdown to make it 22-10 after the Chiefs' two-point conversion was unsuccessful.

On the ensuing drive, Steelers’ tight end Pat Freiermuth fumbled on the Steelers 34-yard line, setting up the Chiefs with great field position.

Mahomes capitalized on the fumble, finding a wide open Travis Kelce for a touchdown to make it 29-10.

Kelce’s touchdown reception was the 77th of his career, passing Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdown receptions in Chiefs franchise history.

CHIEFS' XAVIER WORTHY HIT WITH PENALTY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, SPARKS FAN FRENZY

Mahomes completed 29 of 38 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns.

Kelce had eight catches for 84 yards and a touchdown, while rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy had eight catches for 79 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' win.

The loss for the Steelers is critical for their AFC North title chances. If the Baltimore Ravens win over the Houston Texans in the second half of the NFL’s Christmas Day doubleheader, the Ravens would have the inside track over the Steelers for the AFC North title.

Wilson threw for 205 yards and an interception and ran the ball six times for 55 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Steelers wide receiver George Pickens had three catches for 50 yards in his return after missing the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Both teams were playing their third game in 11 days.

The Chiefs’ final regular-season game will not matter since they have already clinched the No. 1 seed, but it may matter to their opponent. The division rival Denver Broncos might be fighting for their playoff lives, depending on Week 17’s outcome.

Chiefs' Travis Kelce appears in 'Happy Gilmore 2' trailer

25 December 2024 at 11:16

Fans of "Happy Gilmore" were given a gift on Christmas when the trailer for "Happy Gilmore 2" dropped.

For football fans, a familiar face — Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce — made an appearance in the trailer.

"It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore," Kelce said in the trailer, dressed as an employee at a golf club.

The sequel to "Happy Gilmore" will be released exclusively on Netflix in 2025.

Kelce is starting to venture more into acting after taking on his first major role in a show in FX’s "Grotesquerie," which began airing in September.

On the field, Kelce has taken a step back this season but has still been productive for the 14–1 Chiefs.

Kelce has started every game and has 89 receptions for 739 yards and two touchdowns. Those totals are a bit down from the 93 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns he had in the regular season last year.

Kelce's Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing in the NFL Christmas doubleheader Wednesday on Netflix.

If the Chiefs win, they will secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC and get the all-important bye week in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs.

The Chiefs and Steelers play at 1 p.m. ET, and the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens play at 4:30 p.m. ET in the second game of the doubleheader.

Travis, Jason Kelce give blunt take on Christmas movie Taylor Swift, Kylie Kelce have raved about

24 December 2024 at 16:33

It's been long debated whether the 2003 film "Love Actually" is a Christmas movie, and Travis Kelce's verdict is in.

The film is labeled as such, but one can find a Reddit thread on arguments saying otherwise.

Well, the star tight end would agree with that thread.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Kelce said on his latest episode of his podcast that while he "enjoyed" the movie, he "didn't feel ‘Christmas’ at all during the movie."

His brother, Jason, agreed, saying there was "zero Christmas spirit or anything resembling that."

Jason actually took it a step further.

"'Love Actually' might be the worst Christmas movie I've ever seen," he said. "I don't even know that it's up for debate."

The film follows different couples in the weeks leading up to the holiday in London, so by default, it could be labeled as a Christmas movie, but the brothers disagree. They both feel the same about "Die Hard" as well.

EX-STEELERS QUARTERBACK BEN ROETHLISBERGER RIPS NFL FOR CHRISTMAS GAMES, UNFAVORABLE SCHEDULE

Perhaps Travis' girlfriend, Taylor Swift, doesn't love what her boyfriend said about the film though — back in 2014, she raved about the movie.

"If you look around, love actually is all around," she said at the time, according to Page Six.

Jason's wife, Kylie, hopped on the pod and dropped that it was "one of [her] favorite movies, period." So, it seems like both Kelce couples may be having some heated discussions during the holiday.

Taylor Swift is in her WAG era — here's every time she's cheered on Travis Kelce and the Chiefs

23 December 2024 at 11:47

  • Taylor Swift has supported her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at all four Chiefs home games this season.
  • She's been photographed at 20 football games total since last September, including Super Bowl LVIII.
  • Swift tends to wear Chiefs gear and dress up in the team's red-forward color palette.

Taylor Swift famously sang, "You know I love the players, and you love the game." But when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, it looks like she loves them both.

Since Swift began dating NFL star Travis Kelce last summer, she has been spotted cheering at 20 of his games so far, including Super Bowl LVIII.

"I'm just there to support Travis," Swift told Time. "I have no awareness of if I'm being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads."

The megastar is back in action for her second NFL season, supporting Kelce and the Chiefs in their first three home games against the Ravens, Bengals, and Saints.

We rounded up the best photos of Swift from each appearance so far.

Swift attended her first game at Arrowhead Stadium in September 2023.

Swift's enthusiasm at her first Chiefs game seemed to confirm her rumored romance with Kelce.

Swift later said they were already an official couple before she watched the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," she told Time. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for, because we got to get to know each other."

"By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple," Swift continued. "I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."

For her second appearance, she brought her longtime pal Blake Lively.

Swift and Lively watched the Chiefs defeat the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey — where Swift had performed three sold-out concerts just a few months prior.

The October game drew the highest viewership for a Sunday TV show since the Super Bowl, NBC Sports reported.

Indeed, Swift's newfound interest in football has been credited with bumping merch sales and enticing more female viewers.

Shortly before her third game-day appearance, Kelce accused the NFL of "overdoing it" with its wall-to-wall coverage of Swift.

"I think it's fun when they show who all is at the game. I think it brings a little more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you're watching," Kelce said during an episode of his "New Heights" podcast.

"But at the same time, I think they're overdoing it a little bit," Kelce continued. "For sure, especially for my situation. I think they're just trying to have fun with it."

Swift has struck up a close friendship with Brittany Mahomes, who's married to Kelce's teammate.

Just a few days before the release of "1989 (Taylor's Version)," the rerecorded version of her fifth album, Swift watched the Chiefs take down the Los Angeles Chargers.

She spent the home game cheering with Mahomes and showing off their secret handshake.

Swift spent most of November 2023 on the road for the South American leg of The Eras Tour. Kelce even flew to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to watch Swift perform — and received an onstage shout-out in return.

She returned to Kelce's side in early December when the Chiefs took on the Green Bay Packers. It was her first time watching Kelce's team lose.

She wore a vintage Chiefs sweatshirt for the team's next home game.

Swift purchased the '90s sweatshirt from Westside Storey, a secondhand clothing boutique in Kansas City.

The store's owner, Chris Harrington, told Business Insider he originally thought Swift's order — which totaled $1,200 for curated vintage pieces — could be fraudulent.

Instead, she wore one of those pieces at Arrowhead Stadium in December, causing a surge of traffic to Westside Storey's website.

"We've had hundreds of orders over the last 48 hours," Harrington told BI. "Sometimes our online store lights up after a Chiefs game when we win, but this is 100 times more than that, and we lost the game. It was the Taylor effect."

She brought her dad and friends to cheer for the Chiefs in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Swift hit the road to watch the Chiefs defeat the New England Patriots on the latter's home turf. She even convinced her father, Scott Swift, to swap his traditional Philadelphia Eagles gear for a Chiefs sweatshirt.

Several friends accompanied Swift, including Alana Haim, stylist Ashley Avignone, and backup singer Melanie Nyema.

Even though the Chiefs lost to the Las Vegas Raiders on December 25, 2023, Kelce praised Swift and her family for making the day special.

The singer's brother, Austin Swift, even gave him a sentimental gift while dressed as Santa Claus, Kelce shared on his podcast.

The Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins during the fourth-coldest game in NFL history, according to CNN.

That same day, the Chiefs owner praised Swift and Kelce's "purely organic" relationship.

"It's been a very interesting, very fun year having the two of them dating, the attention that's been focused on the Chiefs," Clark Hunt told CNBC. "Our female audience has grown leaps and bounds."

  • Taylor Swift has become a regular at Kansas City Chiefs games since she started dating Travis Kelce.
  • Her NFL style was initially laid-back, as she appeared in simple sports jackets and sweatshirts.
  • Now, Swift has leaned into luxury and subtle nods to Kelce for her gameday looks.

Taylor Swift made her NFL debut in September 2023, revealing her romance with Travis Kelce in dramatic fashion by supporting him at a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Over a year later, Swift and Kelce still seem to be going strong, and the singer's gameday fashion continues to make headlines.

From standout $70,000 outfits to forgettable athletic looks, here's a look at everything she's worn in her WAG era, ranked from least to most stylish.

Taylor Swift's first gameday outfit was cute but ultimately forgettable.

She made her Arrowhead Stadium debut in studded $190 Ksubi shorts, a white $105 Dôen tank top, and $192 New Balance sneakers — all sold out as of November 2024.

She also sported a vintage Kansas City Chiefs jacket and a $1,305 crescent-shaped earring from Jacquie Aiche.

The same could be said for the leather and denim getup she sported in October 2023.

As the Chiefs battled the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, Swift cheered the team on from a box suite.

Her simple outfit for the occasion included $528 denim shorts with crystal detailing from Area (which have since sold out), a black long-sleeved shirt, and a leather jacket from Gant.

She also accessorized with a $9,250 diamond choker and $1,795 Louboutin boots.

The outfit she wore to a December 2023 game had lots of team spirit but lacked interesting details.

Her Chiefs pullover, for example, was a light-gray shade that didn't stand out in the audience. Her plaid skirt was also understated.

The most interesting aspects of her outfit were the accessories. Swift wore a $598 Mejuri ring with a red stone in the middle and a $35 handmade hat from a local Kansas City artist.

Swift quickly became intentional with her outfit choices.

For a game in October 2023, Swift arrived wearing a red, white, and black jacket covered in Kansas City logos. The $130 piece, which is now sold out, was the work of Wear by Erin Andrews.

Though the jacket wasn't part of her flashiest outfit, Swift undeniably left her mark on the sports anchor's clothing business.

"I started screaming and freaking out and singing all my favorite Swiftie songs. And then yeah, we restocked, and we sold out. And thank you, thank you, Taylor Swift," Andrews told Seth Meyers during an appearance on his show.

Swift paired the outerwear with a $3,190 Balenciaga corset and sold-out Prada boots.

Her vintage sweatshirt for an October 2023 game had a bit more personality.

Swift paired a vintage Chiefs sweatshirt from Ellie Mae Studios with a black pleated skirt and loafers.

As usual, she added an assortment of jewelry to elevate her look, including Cartier's $13,400 Juste un Clou necklace. She also wore the $3,600 Heavy Belcher bracelet and the $1,050 Enamel Miniature Medallion from Foundrae, as well as Jacquie Aiche's $5,775 evil-eye bracelet and $4,675 7 Diamond Kate Smooth Bar bracelet.

Swift completed her look with a $21 custom friendship bracelet featuring an 87 in a sweet nod to Kelce, who wore a red plaid shirt after the game that coordinated with Swift's gameday look.

The designer jacket she wore to a game in January screamed luxury.

Rather than wearing team gear, Swift arrived at the sporting event in a white varsity jacket from Gant's collaboration with Kilo Kish.

The high-fashion piece featured stars and other shapes in the Chiefs' signature red, matching Swift's winter beanie and lipstick.

The jacket, which retailed for $1,800, is now sold out.

There was no missing Swift when she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium for a game in November.

She was photographed wearing a vintage, leather Chiefs jacket — a fan said her parents sold it on eBay for $169 — and black shorts from Agolde.

Other pieces included $2,195 Louboutin boots, a $3,900 Dior saddle bag, and a $630 belt from The Row. But it was her gold and diamond accessories that stole the show.

Swift wore $575 Louis Vuitton earrings, a $4,475 Chanel necklace, a $3,150 Louis Vuitton ring, and a $4,150 ring from Retrouvai.

One of Swift's most memorable looks came on Christmas Day.

She attended the holiday Chiefs game alongside her brother Austin, who was dressed as Santa Claus.

Though Swift wasn't in costume, she was dressed with holiday spirit. To complement her Santa hat, which was embroidered with Kelce's jersey number, Swift wore an $895 bomber jacket from Guest in Residence, which has since sold out.

She also sported a now-sold-out Hill House skirt, $35 Sheertex tights, and heeled Prada loafers.

Swift's Super Bowl look was fairly simple, but a slew of symbolic accessories made it stand out.

The base of Swift's look for the 2024 Super Bowl — which the Chiefs won — was all black. She paired Dion Lee's crochet corset top with Area's $695 crystal slit jeans and $1,195 suede ankle boots from Christian Louboutin.

Swift also wore a red Chiefs bomber jacket from WEAR by Erin Andrews, which cost $129. Her accessories also nodded to the Chiefs, like Judith Leiber's red football clutch. The bag is not available in red online, but brown, gold, and pink versions cost $3,995 on the brand's website.

Her $3,325 necklace from Stephanie Gottlieb featured an 87, a nod to Kelce's jersey number. She also wore a diamond tennis choker from the brand, which cost $7,995.

Swift adorned herself with other red jewelry, including two rings from Shahla Karimi, Retrouvai's $4,550 Ruby Magna ring, and The Last Line's $695 diamond-studded Heart Twist earring, which is sold individually.

She also turned to Shay Jewelry for several red pieces, including a $6,800 necklace, the $5,600 Ruby Eternity Band, and a $19,950 bracelet. Jacquie Aiche's $7,150 Sophia Diamond Chain Pavé Ear Cuff and $715 Pavé Diamond Letter Mini Hoop completed her look. Swift wore a "T" hoop, naturally.

Swift's Super Bowl ensemble was simple, but her accessories filled the look with team spirit.

Swift put a more glamorous spin on her NFL style when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers in December 2023.

Instead of wearing a sweatshirt or jersey with the Chiefs logo, Swift donned Stella McCartney's $2,400 belted teddy coat for an away game in Wisconsin. The red color was perfect to support the Chiefs.

The rest of Swift's look was black, including her Louis Vuitton mini wrap skirt, which retails for $3,400. She also wore a black mock-neck top with Cartier's Agrafe Herringbone Twisted necklace atop it. The $27,250 necklace featured gold and diamond detailing, matching Swift's $1,400 linked tennis earrings from Vrai.

Stuart Weitzman's $995 thigh-high Vidaland boots completed her ensemble.

Her coordinating Vivienne Westwood set for an October game was among her most high-fashion NFL looks.

The $1,875 off-the-shoulder Sunday corset and $1,010 Meghan kilt from Vivienne Westwood featured a plaid pattern with maroon detailing that subtly nodded to the Chiefs.

Vivienne Westwood also designed Swift's $1,270 Grace boots and $590 Belle Heart-Frame Jacquard bag.

She didn't hold back on her jewelry for the game, wearing over $46,000 worth of it with the look, including her Cartier necklace and $5,680 custom diamond TNT bracelet from Wove that Kelce gave her as a gift.

Jacquie Aiche designed Swift's bracelets: the $4,675 Seven-Diamond Kate Smooth Bar bracelet and the $5,250 evil-eye bracelet. She also wore various rings, including Shahla Karimi's $3,490 Cloud Offset Pear ring and two custom-made ruby-studded rings from Effy Jewelry.

Glitter freckles from Fazit completed her ensemble.

Swift's look for the game between the Chiefs and the Bengals was simple: black pants, a belt, and a black top.

But a white-and-black varsity jacket designed by Jeff Hamilton brought a pop of team spirit to her look. The jacket featured an assortment of patches, including the "KC" arrowhead logo on the front and back, the NFL logo, and a football helmet. Swift's jacket also said "Chiefs" in red lettering.

Her statement jacket was almost identical to a Jeff Hamilton jacket Kelce wore to arrive at the Chiefs game on Christmas 2023, just a week earlier.

Kelce and Swift's jackets were custom, but Hamilton sells a similar jacket for $850 on his website.

Swift subtly paid tribute to her boyfriend with a gold and diamond bracelet last year.

After Kelce and his teammates won the 2024 AFC Championship, Swift joined him on the field to celebrate. There, fans got a closer look at her red and black outfit.

It included a $695 red sweater from Guest in Residence, $2,830 earrings from Wwake, a $6,250 diamond ring from Jacquie Aiche, and $35 Sheertex tights.

But the gold, diamond-embellished tennis bracelet from Wove seemingly had the most sentimental value to Swift.

The brand's founder, Kendall Junck, previously told Business Insider that the bracelet was part of a jewelry collaboration with pro golfer Michelle Wie West, who is friends with Kelce.

She said that when West reached out to gift Kelce some of the pieces, he requested matching bracelets with the letters "TNT" for Taylor and Travis.

Swift's oversize 1995 Salem shirt hit her mid-thigh, allowing her to wear it as a dress. The red piece featured the Chiefs logo and the team's name.

Swift did not reveal where she bought the shirt, though Kansas City business Westside Storey, which sells souvenirs and curated vintage items, told BI it was selling the same piece a week before she was spotted wearing it.

Swift paired the top with Giuseppe Zanotti's $1,650 Frannie boots and Louis Vuitton's Coussin bag, which retails for $4,800.

She wore several high-end jewelry pieces, including Louis Vuitton's $625 My LV Chain earrings. Swift also stacked two necklaces, Vitaly's $120 Shimmer Chain and Melinda Maria's $118 Julian Loves Diamonds Necklace 16, which features diamondettes.

Swift attended the Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills in December 2023 wearing a $250 vintage sweatshirt, which said "Chiefs" in large letters and featured the team's logo on one sleeve.

She bought the sweatshirt from Westside Storey in Kansas City. The store's owner, Chris Harrington, told BI he initially thought her purchase was fraudulent.

Swift dressed up the casual sweatshirt by pairing it with a $2,100 leather miniskirt from Khaite, which she wore backward, Larroudé's $500 Kate Hi boots in black leather, and GANT 240 Mulberry Street's $1,700 tailored coat in black.

She also added Mejuri's Heirloom Ring, which costs $648, and Mazin Jewels Open Rivet Ring, a $64 piece.

Her custom jacket for the Chiefs' playoff game against the Miami Dolphins in January was one of a kind.

Swift attended the playoff game in a custom red jacket made by Kristin Juszczyk, a designer married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

Kristin made the oversize puffer jacket using one of Kelce's jerseys, as she documented in a TikTok, so it featured his number, 87, on the front and sleeve, as well as his name. She also embroidered "Chiefs Kingdom" onto the jacket.

Swift focused her look on the jacket, pairing it with a black top, Paige's $249 Gemma pants, and $1,395 Christian Louboutin combat boots.

She also wore Anine Bing's Waylon belt, which retails for $200 but is out of stock, and carried the $525 Ilda Bag from Manu Atelier.

She wore all denim at the 2024-2025 season opener.

Swift seemed to signal she was fully stepping into her WAG era at the season opener in September, arriving at Arrowhead Stadium in an all-denim look.

She paired a denim version of Versace's Medusa corset, which retails for $1,325, with $174 mom shorts from Grlfrnd.

Swift also wore Giuseppe Zanotti's $1,650 burgundy thigh-high Frannie boots. The pricey shoes were more affordable than her Louis Vuitton side trunk bag, retailing for $3,950.

An assortment of high-end jewelry completed Swift's ensemble, including her TNT bracelet and a 1970s-inspired coin necklace from For Future Reference. The brand's founder, Randi Molofsky, previously told BI that the brand collaborated with Swift's stylist on the look.

"We were so lucky to work directly with Taylor's longtime stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, on last night's look for Taylor," he said. "He came to us specifically for the vintage coin necklace because he really had a vision of that bold, glam '70s style to pair with the denim-on-denim and over-the-thigh boot."

The priciest element of her outfit was a $29,100 ring from Retrouvai, which she paired with Howl's $4,800 Ruby Cocoon ring. Lizzie Mandler's $13,200 three-row Cleo bracelet sat on her wrist while she wore EF Collection's $895 diamond and prong chain earrings and the $590 Love Explosion Starburst Charm earrings from Three Stories Jewelry in her ears.

Swift wore $66,970 worth of jewelry for the look.

Swift elevated her style from sporty to chic in November.

Swift then arrived at a Chiefs home game in a red-and-black checked Versace blazer and skirt that cost $3,350 and $1,695, respectively.

The blazer sat on her shoulders, showing off the $34.99 Victoria's Secret corset Swift wore as a top.

She also chose Versace accessories for the look, including the $1,650 Medusa 95 Leather Knee High Boots and the $2,190 Medusa 95 Small Tote Bag.

Swift's standout jewelry piece for the game was the gold Tambour Watch from Louis Vuitton she wore on her wrist. It retails for $54,000, and Kelce has a coordinating timepiece.

But the Ruby and Diamond Heirloom Bezel Ring from Retrouvai she wore on her hand was nearly as pricey at $32,970. She complemented the ring with Effy Jewelry's $2,167 Ruby Royale Ruby and Diamond Crossover Ring.

The luxurious look was stylish and sleek, making her stand out in the stadium filled with sports fans.

The superstar's best gameday look so far included a fuzzy coat and designer hat.

There was no missing Swift when she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium over the weekend.

She wore a vibrant red coat with a faux fur lining from Charlotte Simone, plaid Sheertex tights, and a vintage Chanel bucket hat in black.

Her outfit also included $1,595 Manolo Blahnik boots and a red Tods handbag.

The outfit was fashionable, festive, and perfect for a winter game.

Travis, Jason Kelce critical of Ohio lawmaker's bill outlawing flag planting on Buckeyes' field: 'Feels soft'

18 December 2024 at 15:21

Ohio state Rep. Josh Williams introduced the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act after the brawl that took place after Michigan’s 13-10 victory over Ohio State in December.

Both Travis and Jason Kelce expressed their displeasure with Williams’ new bill.

"We have the Ohio State anti-flag planting law officially put into effect. Ohio State representative Josh Williams introduced the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act on Tuesday in an attempt to curb flag planting attempts, or also an attempt to be petty as f---," Jason said during a recent episode of "New Heights."

"The bill would prohibit planting a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio State football field on the day of a college football game and to name this act the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act. I don’t like it. I’m not gonna lie."

Travis added, "When I think of the Ohio State Buckeyes, I think of just toughness. Man, I think it’s just — I just don’t think this is a toughness type move."

While Travis was gentle with his criticism, Jason was not.

"Feels soft," Jason said.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star doesn’t think it was Williams' place to do anything about the fight that took place between the bitter rivals.

"That’s for the NCAA to determine, not an Ohio state representative. Get the f--- out of here, Josh," Jason said.

"What are you going to do arrest him? Is that what you’re saying? You are going to arrest the guy." Travis said.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end may not like the bill, but he understands its premise.

OHIO LAWMAKER LOOKS TO OUTLAW FLAG PLANTING AT BUCKEYES’ STADIUM AFTER MICHIGAN BRAWL

"I get it, you want to have sportsmanship. You want to have all that, but I don’t want to s--- on anybody. It is what it is," Travis said.

"We don’t need fist fights, and this antagonizes that, but at the same time, this is just doing a lot. It’s doing a lot, but shout out to the Buckeyes. Shout out to the Wolverines."

Jason agreed with his brother, saying there is no place for fist fights or anything of that ilk, but he doesn’t want the bill to take away from the best parts of college football’s rivalries.

"This is all just posture, and it’s just petty, and I don’t like it. I don’t think it’s cool. I think it’s stupid. Some of the best parts about the rivalries are when dumb things happen like this. Obviously, it was over the top, and there was full-on fist fights and tear gas," Jason said.

In the melee, "multiple officers representing Ohio and Michigan deployed pepper spray," leaving multiple Michigan players rubbing their eyes, according to a statement from Ohio State police.

In a social media post, Williams said he was "proud" to introduce the bill, saying that "behavior that incites violent brawls and puts our law enforcement officers in danger has no place on the football field."

Planting a flag at midfield at Ohio State is now a felony.

Both schools were fined $100,000 by the Big Ten Conference for violating its sportsmanship policy.

Jason Kelce expresses 'concern' about drone sightings, hopes to find out what they are 'someday'

18 December 2024 at 09:03

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, like many other residents who have seen the drones in the sky, is concerned about them.

"It’s a little concerning that these things are just hovering. I don’t know what they’re looking for or what they’re trying to find, but they’re searching for something," Kelce said during a recent episode of "New Heights."

The FBI said it has received more than 5,000 reports of alleged drone sightings in the last "few weeks" on Monday, as residents seek answers as to what the drones could be.

"You know, some say that it’s just, you know…" Travis Kelce started.

"Just some people messing around?" Jason said, finishing his brother’s thought.

"They got some commitment to messing around if that’s the case. I don’t know what’s going on, hopefully we find out someday," Jason said.

RADIO LEGEND MIKE FRANCESA SAYS GOVERNMENT HAS TAKEN 'CAVALIER APPROACH' TO MYSTERIOUS NJ DRONES

The FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration, and the Department of Defense said while they "recognize the concern" from citizens, there is no evidence that the drones are "anomalous" or a threat to public safety or to U.S. national security, in a joint statement on Monday.

Travis was beginning to speculate about what the drones could be for before cutting himself off.

"Maybe it’s just a coastal safety precaution, just making sure there’s no, you know, alright let’s get out of here. I don’t want to get into conspiracies about what the f--- those drones are," the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said.

The drones were first spotted on Nov. 18 and have been seen every night since over the East Coast of the United States.

With the Chiefs playing three games in a span of 11 days, Kelce has a lot on his plate other than the drones to worry about at the moment.

The Chiefs defeated the Cleveland Browns 21-7 on Sunday, and will take on the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday. They will then play in a rare Wednesday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

Taylor Swift will only get $10 birthday present from Travis Kelce's dad

13 December 2024 at 15:41

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has made more than $93 million in career NFL earnings, and has plenty to spend on a birthday gift for Taylor Swift. But his blue-collar Ohio father apparently isn't going to stretch himself too thin for the occasion.

Kelce's father, Ed Kelce, said that he plans to only spend $10 on a present for his son's pop star girlfriend this year.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"You're not going to crush Taylor Swift with a gift that cost, you know, $100,000. You've got to get something that tweaks the strings of her heart that you spend 10 bucks on," Ed said during an appearance on the "Baskin & Phelps" podcast. "Then she'll just be all gooey. You've got to find something that triggers the emotion."

Ed, a former steelworker and Coast Guard service member, believes that there's no point in spending too much on someone like Swift, who has the means to attain anything she wants as a billionaire.

TAYLOR SWIFT, TRAVIS KELCE HAVE 'AUTHENTIC' RELATIONSHIP DESPITE 'MARKETING STRATEGY' RUMORS: CHIEFS PRESIDENT

"The amount of money is meaningless," he said. "There's nothing they want that they don't already have. You have to look beyond that. You've got to dig down and come up with something special."

Swift turned 35 on Friday, and is into her second full year in her relationship with the NFL star.

Kelce has faced mounting pressure to propose to Swift after Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen got engaged to actress Hailee Steinfeld at the end of November. Fans have called on Kelce to drop to one knee for Swift on all social media channels as the two are now each officially in the second half of their 30s.

If and when that day comes, Swift will look to embrace Ed and Kelce's mother Donna as in-laws, but she likely won't expect high-end gifts from either of the two parents, based on Ed's philosophy.

While Ed made a career in the steel industry, he comes from a military background.

"Everybody in my family prior to me was in the service," Ed said on an episode of Travis and his brother Jason's "New Heights" podcast in February 2023. "We're also talking about family [that] lived through World War II, so that's what everybody did because that was the background."

Ed did not go into the Army because he had a pre-existing knee injury. He joined the Coast Guard, but had to leave boot camp after it was discovered he had Crohn's disease.

After joining the steel industry, Ed made sure to bring his sons Travis and Jason to work with him at the mill to show them what that line of work looked like.

"I'd take them there — hard hat, safety glasses, boots, the whole nine yards," he told the Los Angeles Times. "I'd tell them, 'You can have a job like your mother's, or you can have a job like mine.'"

All the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Easter eggs in 'Christmas in the Spotlight'

12 December 2024 at 09:40
christmas in the spotlight
Bowyn and Drew in "Christmas in the Spotlight."

Lifetime

  • Lifetime released "Christmas in the Spotlight" this year.
  • It's about the world's biggest pop star falling in love with a football player. Sound familiar?
  • The movie is filled with Easter eggs and references to both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Many have said that the relationship between Taylor Swift, one of the most — if not the most — popular musicians in the world right now, and Travis Kelce, a hugely successful NFL player, feels straight out of a romantic comedy.

The holiday movie geniuses over at Lifetime certainly did — and that's why "Christmas in the Spotlight," a Lifetime Christmas movie about a pop star and a football player falling in love, has been brought into the world.

Screenwriter Eirene Tran Donohue told USA Today that Christmas and Taylor Swift are the "two great loves of my life."

"I think this movie does stand if you've never even heard of Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce," she said. "I think that Swifties will enjoy it and understand that it was made with love and that it is not an attack on her and it's not trying to be exploitative," she continued.

Although there are some key differences between our main characters, Bowyn and Drew, and Swift and Kelce, the references to their real lives abound.

Here are all the Easter eggs we found in "Christmas in the Spotlight."

This movie starts out strong, showing Bowyn directing her own music video, just like Swift.
bowyn hitting the flexed arm pose
Bowyn is played by Jessica Lord.

Lifetime

Swift has directed the videos for "I'm Only Me When I'm With You," "The Best Day," "Mine," the vertical version of "Delicate," Me!," "You Need to Calm Down," "Lover," "Christmas Tree Farm," "The Man," "Cardigan," "Willow," "Anti-Hero," "Bejeweled," "Lavender Haze," "Karma," "I Can See You," "Fortnight," and "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart."

Bowyn also flexes her bicep, which Swift did when she performed "The Man" on tour.

Bowyn's manager, Mira Vu, has had her bomber jacket since she was 15, an important number for Swifties.

Mira is played by Jeannie Mai.

Lifetime

Of course, "Fifteen" is a song from Swift's album "Fearless." Mira fittingly calls her jacket "a classic."

Bowyn also later notes she became famous when she was 15.

Next, we meet Drew "Gonzo" Gonville. His jersey number is 13.
drew's jersey
Drew is played by Laith Wallschleger.

Lifetime

The number 13 is basically holy in the Swift fandom.

Swift was born on December 13, and has since made it a huge part of her relationship with fans. For years, she even drew a 13 on her hand for every concert, which meant that fans still did it at the Eras Tour, years after she stopped.

Even Drew's name could be a reference — Swift sings about a Drew in "Teardrops on My Guitar."

Drew is played by Tyler Hilton in the music video.

YouTube

The very first lyrics of "Teardrops on My Guitar" are "Drew looks at me/I fake a smile so he won't see."

It's a reference to Swift's real-life classmate, Drew Hardwick, whom she had a crush on.

Of course, Drew has a brother, Rob, who also plays football.
rob and drew in christmas in the spotlight
Rob's a quarterback, unlike Jason Kelce, who was a center.

Lifetime

Unlike Jason and Travis Kelce, who never played on the same NFL team, Rob and Drew play for the same "NFO" team: the Bombers.

Rob has a nickname too: "Golden."
rob in christmas in the spotlight
Rob is played by Dennis Andres.

Lifetime

Is that a reference to the beloved Swift song "Daylight," which states that she "once believed love would be burning red" — or "black and white" — "but it's golden"? Perhaps.

Like Jason Kelce, Drew's older brother Rob is married with at least one daughter.
rob's daughter aileen
Aileen is played by Madeleine Cox.

Lifetime

In real life, Jason Kelce has three daughters, with one more on the way.

Bowyn's fans call themselves "Arrowheads," which is the name of the Kansas City Chiefs' stadium.

In-universe, they're called Arrowheads because of Bowyn's name containing the word "bow," as in bow and arrow.

Drew notes that there are college courses taught about Bowyn's career.

There are plenty of colleges, including Harvard University and New York University, where you can take a class about the career and music of Taylor Alison Swift.

Drew also calls Bowyn a "feminist icon" and a "queer ally," which Swift has also been called in the past.

The stadium where the Bombers play is called National Corners.

Lifetime

One of Swift's most important collaborators of the last four years has been Aaron Dessner, a member of the band the National.

The National has also appeared on Swift's "Coney Island." Conversely, Swift was featured on the National song "The Alcott."

She also appeared on two songs by Dessner's other musical project, Big Red Machine: "Birch" and "The Renegade."

Bowyn tunes into an Instagram live, and the usernames and comments are filled with references.
the instagram live bowyn looks at
This scene goes on for a minute or two, so there are a lot of comments.

Lifetime

The username "starryeyes23" could refer to a line from "Delicate": "Starry eyes sparking up my darkest night."

In fact, "starry eyes" have been mentioned a few times through Swift's discography. She says she thought she was "better safe than starry-eyed" on "loml," and that someone was "gazing at me starry-eyed" on "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived."

Another commenter, "joynoise89," references the year Swift was born, 1989, which is also the name of her fifth album.

A third commenter, "skyesnation43," might be a reference to Taylor Nation, an official account run by her marketing team.

Mira tells Bowyn that the "sky's not big enough" for her.

Lifetime

Of course, Bowyn's is a bit more low-budget.

The beginning of Bowyn and Drew's relationship mirrors the beginning of Swift and Kelce's.

Drew is already a huge Bowyn fan before even meeting her.

Lifetime

Much like Kelce, Drew attends one of Bowyn's shows and decides to broadcast his crush on her on the internet. However, unlike Kelce, who did this on his podcast "New Heights," Drew posted on Instagram.

Here's what Drew wrote: "Thank you, Bowyn for an amazing show and making my niece's dream come true. Swing by Bay Springs someday to watch the Bombers rock the stadium. The beer is on me!"

And here's what Kelce said on "New Heights": "I've seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead. You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit."

However, unlike Kelce, Drew actually got to meet Bowyn backstage and took a picture with her, but not before asking if it was OK to touch her.
drew asks bowyn if he can take a photo
Their selfie leaves a lot to be desired, though.

Lifetime

Bowyn appreciates Drew asking before touching her first. You might remember that a radio DJ sued Swift in 2015 for defamation after she claimed he had inappropriately touched her at a meet-and-greet in 2013. She counter-sued for battery and sexual assault, eventually winning a symbolic $1.

In real life, Kelce never got to meet Swift at her Kansas City concert. He said on "New Heights" it was because Swift didn't meet anyone at her concerts because she had to save her voice.

Mira notes that Bowyn's type is "pretentious actors and indie rockers who have been breaking her heart for 15 years."

In "But Daddy I Love Him" from "The Tortured Poets Department," there's the lyric, "Me and my wild boy/And all of this wild joy."

During the Eras Tour, she mashed this song up with "So High School," which is thought to be about Kelce.

Bowyn says she was never a "cheerleader type," and was "more of a bleacher girl."

In Swift's inescapable hit "You Belong With Me" from "Fearless," she sings, "She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers."

Also, not for nothing, one of Swift's closest friends and collaborators, Jack Antonoff, releases music under the name Bleachers.

She tells Drew she can't remember if singing was ever fun. Swift sings a similar musing in the "TTPD" song: "I forget how the West was won/I forget if this was ever fun."

She also says she started performing at 13.

A running theme of the movie is Bowyn's love for puzzles.

Before Kelce (and Matty Healy), Swift was in a six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. They were intensely private and rarely photographed together. The two never walked a red carpet together, though they did sit together at the 2020 Golden Globes.

On his side of the freakout, Drew tells his family, "I am calling my own shots." Swift sings "And you can't wait to move out someday and call your own shots" on the "Speak Now" song "Never Grow Up."

He also says Bowyn "gets rid of my doubts and fears."

In the album booklet for "Fearless," Swift wrote about what being fearless actually meant to her.

"To me, 'fearless' is not the absence of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, 'fearless' is having fears. 'Fearless' is having doubts," she wrote.

Bowyn's ex-boyfriend Hudson leaks a taped conversation the two had, which he heavily edited to make it seem like Bowyn insulted Drew.

An edited recording of a conversation between Swift and Kanye West regarding his song "Famous" re-started their feud in 2016 (which began at the VMAs in 2009) and led to the public turning on Swift and declaring that she was "over."

In both cases, the unedited versions of the conversation eventually were released, vindicating Bowyn and Swift, as Variety reported.

Fans seized onto the "friendship bracelet" line and began trading bracelets at the Eras Tour, usually with references to lyrics or inside jokes in the Swift fandom. These bracelets became so associated with Swift that a giant bracelet began moving from stadium to stadium during the tour.

Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy says team thrives playing in villain role: 'Everybody just wants us to lose'

12 December 2024 at 06:14

Kansas City Chiefs rookie receiver Xavier Worthy knows it is his job at the end of the day, but he is having a lot of fun playing with his team each week.

How could he not be happy when he is 12-1 to start off his first season in the NFL. Not many rookies get that luxury.

However, the first-round pick learned quickly what comes with the territory of being a team in search of three Super Bowls – playing the villain role.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Worthy, who broke the NFL Scouting Combine 40-yard dash record back in April, said he hears the outside noise, especially those wanting the Chiefs to lose each week.

"I feel like everybody just wants us to lose," Worthy told Fox News Digital after highlighting the fun he had with the DICKS Holiday Shopping Sprint to impact kids in the Kansas City area for the holidays.

CHIEFS' ALTERNATE REALITY: KANSAS CITY WOULD BE 2011 IF THEIR ONE-SCORE GAME RESULTS WERE FLIPPED IN 2024

"Every week, it’s a new excuse. First, the goal post is helping us. Then, it’s the refs helping us. I mean, we can’t get a break. But it’s cool to have that. It shows that everybody wants us to lose, we have a target on our backs, and we have to continue working each and every week."

The Chiefs are a dynasty, and Worthy entered the fray right after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime to collect back-to-back Vince Lombardi trophies.

Just ask any other dynasty in the NFL what happens when they are on top. Fans will raise them up and ultimately want to watch them fall with a new winner crowned.

However, Worthy brings up a reason why some fans cannot stand to watch the Chiefs stack wins. They have been in so many close games this season, but they have maintained their winning streak in those one-score bouts.

For the last 15 games that have been determined by one score, the Chiefs have come out victorious. Yes, the goal post was involved this past week as Matthew Wright doinked it off the left side, but it went through to beat the Los Angeles Chargers. Additionally, there have been some controversial calls that have gone the Chiefs' way in the end.

Being the villain, though, is not something the Chiefs care about. They embrace it, and Worthy is just getting a taste of what Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and other veterans on the team have been feeling since last season.

"It fuels us," Worthy explained. "A lot of people say it’s hate, like, ‘Oh, people are always going against us.’ But how we look at it, the world’s watching us. You have all these eyes – you make the best of the opportunity with all these eyes on you."

Worthy is no stranger to having a target on his back after playing for a large college program like the Texas Longhorns.

CHIEFS ARE KINGS OF CLOSING OUT GAMES, AND WHAT ELSE WE LEARNED IN WEEK 14

However, he touched on the senior leadership that helps guide the pact, especially Mahomes, who he continues to build a rapport with each week.

The proof is in the game tape, as Mahomes, scrambling on fourth-and-6 to continue the team's game-winning drive, threw a pass to Worthy with the game on the line, and he came back to the ball, secured it and kept the drive alive.

He even injured himself on the play, but his quarterback trusted him with the game on the line. A little pain is worth it in that case.

"I actually dislocated my finger on that same play," he said. "I popped it back in right after that – you can see it in the video. But, it’s huge to be able to have that trust from my quarterback in the NFL. I feel like everybody talks about being that guy in the NFL, so just to be able to build that trust and stack days with your quarterback is huge."

With four games remaining and the AFC West title locked up for the ninth straight season, Worthy knows he will also be a rookie that enjoys playoff football at the end of the regular season.

He is also well aware that the target will be even larger with the Chiefs looking to become the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowls.

If Kansas City has to be the villain to do so, then that is perfectly fine for Worthy, who is solely focused on being the team's hero when it is his turn to make a play.

IMPACTING YOUTH IN KC WITH DICKS

While Worthy has the pleasure of gracing a field with Mahomes, Kelce and so many other Chiefs legends, he also gets to impact the Kansas City community just like them, too.

That is exactly what happened with this year's DICK’S Holiday Shopping Sprint, where two lucky winners – Tanisha and her 8-year-old son, AJ, as well as Molly from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City – curated a $2,500 holiday wish list that Worthy collected with his record-breaking speed and brought to them personally.

"It was fun," he said of the experience. "It was always something I wanted to do just to give back to the community where I’m at, and it was just fun to see the reactions on the kids’ faces. It brightened my day."

Worth took pictures, had some catches and enjoyed the opportunity to make these kids and their families smile.

"Surprising our athletes with gifts off their list was such a delight," said Melissa Christian, vice president of global brand and category marketing at DICK’S Sporting Goods. "This was another way we could meet our athletes where they are – literally! – and to do to it in record time by having Xavier Worthy, who is known for his speed, shop and deliver to doorsteps was even more fun. He was the perfect partner for this year’s Holiday Shopping Sprint."

Tua Tagovailoa says he has armed security after burglaries at NFL players' homes: 'Think twice'

11 December 2024 at 15:47

There's a new burglary ring, and it's targeting NFL players.

The homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow have all been broken into recently, but it will be tough for anyone to get into Tua Tagovailoa's place.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback said Wednesday he has "personal security" to keep him and his family safe.

Tagovailoa said he made the decision shortly after one of his cars was broken into.

"It's a little too close for my comfort with my family being in the house. So, we got personal security to take care of all that. When we're on the road, we got someone with my wife. We got someone surveying that house," he said.

He then gave a stern warning.

"They are armed, so I hope if you decide to go to my house, you think twice."

JOE BURROW'S HOUSE BURGLARIZED WHILE PLAYING COWBOYS ON MONDAY NIGHT: REPORT

Burrow's home was burglarized while he was in Dallas facing the Cowboys Monday. The NFL recently sent out a memo regarding the incidents.

The league cautioned players to be on high alert after homes were hit last month that were believed to be tied to international organized crime.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported last month that the FBI is investigating the crime spree, "which is believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate."

According to the report, at least one other NFL player had his home burglarized.

In the memo, the league also urged players to take precautions, including installing home security systems. They were also encouraged not to post images of expensive items or live updates of their comings and goings on social media.

The burglaries have happened during players' games.

Taylor Swift invited Caitlin Clark to Chiefs game amid distance from Brittany Mahomes at suites this year

10 December 2024 at 17:03

WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark said during an interview with Time magazine that Taylor Swift invited her to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game.

The publication named Clark its Athlete of The Year, reporting on her interactions with Swift in recent months. Clark said she met Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in person after attending two shows on the singer's Eras Tour.

"People are just going crazy that I’m there," Clark said. "I thought people would be so in their own world, ready to see Taylor. And it was just completely the opposite."

Swift's invitation to watch a Chiefs game would give Clark the opportunity to watch her favorite team with her favorite musical artist. Clark has previously said Swift is her favorite artist and welcomed Swift to the Chiefs fan base when the singer's relationship with Kelce went public in September 2023.

The invite also came during a year in which Swift has been visibly distant from Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kelce's teammate, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, compared to last season.

INSIDE CAITLIN CLARK AND ANGEL REESE'S IMPACT ON MEN'S BASKETBALL

Swift stood or sat alongside Brittany in the same suite for nearly every game last year. However, this year, Swift was only seen with Mahomes twice at games — Oct. 7 against the Saints and Nov. 4 against the Buccaneers.

The duo made headlines at the Chiefs' first game against the Ravens when they sat in separate suites to open the season. The two sat separately after Brittany incited backlash for publicly liking a post by Donald Trump on Instagram. Swift fan groups on social media were partially responsible for circulating screenshots of Brittany's like of Trump's post.

Trump even weighed in on the controversy after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president Sept. 10. In an interview on "Fox & Friends" the next day, Trump said he liked Brittany "much better" than Swift.

After Trump sent a post on Truth Social that said "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!," many of her fans called on Mahomes to disavow all of her support for Trump.

However, Mahomes never did that. She simply kept going to Chiefs games, sometimes sitting beside Swift and sometimes sitting with someone else, including model Paige Buechele, the wife of Chiefs backup quarterback Shane Buechele, in a game against the Buffalo Bills Nov. 17.

Clark declined to endorse any political candidate before the recent election, but she did like the Instagram post Swift used to endorse Harris. Clark advocated for athletes to encourage fans to vote when asked about the like.

Clark was previously placed next to Swift on the cover of Time magazine's recent Inspiring Women special edition issue that featured eight women in positions of leadership, including multiple athletes.

Chiefs' alternate reality: Kansas City would be 2-11 if their one-score game results were flipped in 2024

10 December 2024 at 03:23

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Patrick Mahomes gets the ball, the Kansas City Chiefs drive down the field in the final seconds and win the game.

Or how about this: the Chiefs defense comes through with a clutch fourth-down play to ice a victory.

Andy Reid’s crew has pulled this off for the past few years, as this Chiefs team has developed into a dynasty. However, the 2024 season has been so crazy when it comes to last-second wins or close games for Kansas City, that even the head coach has to smile talking about it.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"It’s a unique year," Reid told reporters after his team’s latest game-winning, field-goal victory. "They’re all unique, [but] this one is unique from the standpoint that we’ve had a lot of close games. We’ve been able to battle through some things to get these victories. I’m sure we’ll continue to do that."

Ask Mahomes, Travis Kelce and others on the Chiefs, and they’ll tell you they don’t want to be in this position every single week. However, the reality of the NFL is great teams win those close games, and the Chiefs do it constantly.

In fact, if the results were flipped this season in games the Chiefs won by one score or less, they would be 2-11 at the bottom of the barrel in the NFL standings.

CHIEFS ARE KINGS OF CLOSING OUT GAMES, AND WHAT ELSE WE LEARNED IN WEEK 14

The Chiefs just do not lose close games. After Sunday night’s win over the Chargers, when Matthew Wright doinked the game-winner off the left upright, but it somehow managed to go through, the Chiefs extended their wins-in-one-score-games streak to 15 straight, which is simply unheard of.

It has also created this villain arc for Kansas City, which usually comes with the territory of winning a lot of games. As a matter of fact, Mahomes won his 101st game as a starter in the NFL – he has played 127 games.

Looking back at some of these games, it’s crazy to think the Chiefs walked away victorious.

It all started in Week 1 as Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was using Isaiah Likely on a potential game-winning drive if head coach John Harbaugh chose to go for two if they scored a touchdown.

That’s what appeared to happen when Jackson, dancing around the pocket, lasered a pass to Likely as the clock ticked zero in the fourth quarter, and his tight end snagged it. However, after video replay, Likely’s toe – now infamous – was on the white boundary in the back of the end zone. He was ruled out and the Chiefs won 27-20.

That next week, the Cincinnati Bengals head to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for the latest chapter in the Mahomes-Joe Burrow rivalry. The Bengals, coming off a bad loss to the New England Patriots in their home opener, needed a stop on 4th-and-16 with 48 seconds remaining and a two-point lead.

Mahomes heaved a pass to Rashee Rice, and it went incomplete. However, yellow flags flew, calling safety Daijahn Anthony for pass interference, flipping the field in the Chiefs’ favor, and Harrison Butker did what he does best: kicking a game-winning field goal in the 26-25 win.

The list goes on and on, from Week 3’s controversial no-call of defensive pass interference on Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts to the Denver Broncos having their game-winning field goal blocked in Week 10. Kansas City’s last three wins have been decided by three points or fewer, two of which ended on game-winning field goals.

Again, this is what separates the great teams from the pack. The Chiefs have players like Mahomes, Kelce, Isiah Pacheco, DeAndre Hopkins and many others who have been battled tested and know they can win a game no matter what the clock says.

The question now becomes whether it is sustainable as the regular season moves into the playoffs. The Chiefs clinched their ninth straight AFC West title after beating the Chargers, and just four games remain to see if they can retain that No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.

For 15 straight games, almost a full season, it has been sustainable for these Chiefs to come through in crunch time, and they have back-to-back Lombardi Trophies to show for it.

If they are to make it three in a row this season, which has never been done before in league history, it is more than likely one-score victories are coming their way.
