The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love lost a big weapon during the team’s 24-22 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. 

Star wide receiver Christian Watson tore his ACL and suffered additional damage to his knee, ending his season and putting the beginning of next season in doubt, according to the NFL Network. 

Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the news on Monday, saying Watson will be out for the rest of the year.

Watson, 25, was running a route in the second quarter, and then crumpled to the ground grabbing his knee, suffering the injury on a non-contact play. 

LaFleur talked about what losing Watson means for the offense.

"Yeah, it’s a big-time loss, just his presence on the field alone. He’s so versatile in his ability to play multiple positions. You can put him at the X, the F, the Z, you can move him all over the place. Obviously, he’s got an element in terms of his size and speed that’s tough to replicate. There’s not many built like him around the league and I just, I hurt for him," LaFleur said in his press conference Monday.

"Obviously, hurt for our team, but also just more for him, just because I know how much he’s put into this thing, and just like all our guys, you never want to see that, and it’s an unfortunate part of our game."

Watson was questionable with a knee injury going into Week 18, but LaFleur said the knee he injured in the game was actually the other knee that had not been bothering him.

LaFleur said that he is confident in how Watson will attack his rehab. 

"But like I told him, I know he’ll attack it the right way, he’ll handle the adversity, it’ll just be a bump in the road for him and I think he’ll come back better. That’s just how he is built, how he’s wired, and so I do think that there’ll be good, it’s just going to be down the road," LaFleur said. 

Watson is in his third season after being drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State. 

This season, Watson had 29 catches for 620 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games. The deep threat is second in the NFL in average yards per reception, averaging 21.4 yards per catch. 

The Packers finished the season 11-6, and are the No. 7 seed in the NFC. They will take on the No. 2-seeded Philadelphia Eagles on the road in the Wild Card Round. 

Without Watson, the Packers will rely on wide receivers Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and Malik Heath to fill in.

The Packers and Eagles will play at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday on FOX.

The Chicago Bears weren’t necessarily playing spoiler on Sunday when they took on the Green Bay Packers, but there was still a ton to play for as they wanted to finish the season on a high note. 

That’s exactly what happened thanks to Cairo Santos drilling a 51-yard field goal to beat the Packers, 24-22, snapping Chicago’s 10-game losing streak to end the season with a 5-12 record. 

It was also a historic kick made by Santos as the Bears finally defeated their NFC North foe, snapping an 11-game losing streak to the Packers.

The game-winning drive came after the Packers’ Brandon McManus drilled a 55-yard field goal to put Green Bay up 22-21 with 54 seconds left to play in the game. 

Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense knew they had one timeout remaining and needed the right yardage to get in range for Santos to walk it off. The drive didn’t start off well as Williams was sacked, but a costly penalty changed everything. 

A horse collar tackle was called, leading to a 15-yard swing that put Chicago on the 35-yard line instead of back on their own 13. The very next play saw Williams connect with fellow rookie Rome Odunze to put the Bears at midfield with 40 seconds to play.

Then on 3rd-and-6 from Green Bay’s 46-yard line, Williams found D.J. Moore for 12 yards, but an illegal shift was called to negate the gain that would’ve given the Bears enough yards for Santos. 

So on 3rd-and-11 with 15 seconds left and no timeouts remaining, Williams dropped back and found Moore in the middle of the field for an 18-yard pickup. Chicago rushed to the line of scrimmage and spiked the ball with two seconds left, giving Santos the chance to win it. 

The kick was hit with enough distance and the right trajectory, and the celebrating ensued at Lambeau Field. 

And while the Packers were already in the playoffs, the loss, coupled with the Washington Commanders’ own game-winning drive, dropped Green Bay to the No. 7 seed in the NFC. They have to go to Philadelphia to face the No. 2 Eagles instead of going to Los Angeles to face the No. 3 Rams.

In the box score, Williams was 21-for-29 for 148 yards with a touchdown pass to Moore, who had nine catches for 86 yards. D’Andre Swift also found the end zone on one of his 20 rushes for 65 yards.

Chicago also had one of the league’s best trick plays of the season as Josh Blackwell ran back a 94-yard punt for the game’s first touchdown after going virtually untouched with the Packers thinking a second Bears punt returner was going to catch it.

For the Packers, Jordan Love initially started this game but was taken out as a precaution with what was called an elbow injury. Malik Willis took over and went 10-of-13 for 136 yards. Josh Jacobs found the end zone for Green Bay again this season as well.

The Chicago Bears didn’t have much to play for on Sunday in Green Bay other than to ruin the Packers’ playoff seeding. 

But, with this being the final game of the Bears’ 2024 season, all the stops were pulled out… even on special teams. 

The first touchdown scored in this game was the result of some punt return trickery by the Bears, as Josh Blackwell scored from 94 yards away untouched after the Packers had no clue he even had the football.

That’s because the Bears sent out two returners near the end zone, and one of them was acting like the ball was going their way. 

Meanwhile, Blackwell was running back down the left sideline and saw the ball coming his way. So, as his teammate acted like he was just going to let the ball fall and hope it resulted in a touchback, Blackwell caught it and started running toward the end zone on the other end of the field.

It wasn’t until Blackwell had a load of blockers in front of him that the Packers saw what was going on, and only Green Bay punter Daniel Whelan knew what was happening. However, he didn’t have a chance to take down Blackwell, as two Bears players blocked him to seal the first touchdown of the game. 

Blackwell found some Bears fans in the back of the end zone and attempted a "Lambeau Leap" to pour a little salt in the wound for the Packers. 

While the Bears don’t have anything but the NFL Draft to worry about with a 4-12 record coming into the game, the Packers do have some seeding to look at in the NFC playoff bracket. 

The Packers are in the playoffs, but a win and a Washington Commanders loss would put them in the No. 6 seed instead of the final No. 7 wild card slot. Washington is in a close matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on the road at AT&T Stadium. 

Chicago’s 2024 campaign started with tons of optimism, most surrounding No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, and the team started 4-2, which brought up loads of playoff speculation. 

But the Bears have lost 10 straight games since, ultimately leading to the firing of head coach Matt Eberflus and GM Ryan Poles. Once again, they are thinking about the future as they aim to continue building around Williams.

The Minnesota Vikings held on for their ninth straight victory on Sunday with a win over the Green Bay Packers, 27-25.

The Vikings need a win next week over the Detroit Lions to clinch the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, which comes with homefield advantage in the postseason.

Sam Darnold had three touchdown passes in the win. He was 33-for-43 with 377 passing yards. He had one interception and one sack. The three touchdowns went to three different wide receivers: Jalen Nailor, Jordan Addison and Cam Akers.

Darnold’s 9-yard touchdown pass to Akers gave the Vikings a 17-point lead and nearly pushed the Packers out of the game completely. Jones led the Vikings with 47 yards on the ground.

Justin Jefferson had eight catches for 92 yards. One nifty catch was denied because of a penalty. He averaged 11.5 yards per catch. 

Nailor had five catches for 81 yards.

Jordan Love and company pushed hard to keep the Packers in the game in the final frame.

Emanuel Wilson scored on a 5-yard run with 6:12 left in the fourth quarter. Love and Romeo Doubs hooked up for a two-point conversion. On their next drive, Love found Malik Heth for a 3-yard touchdown pass. It was a two-point game with 2:18 to go.

Green Bay couldn’t stop Minnesota’s offense in the final moments.

Love was 19-of-30 passing for 185 yards and a touchdown pass. Josh Jacobs also added a touchdown on the ground. He tallied 69 rushing yards.

All eyes will be on next week’s game between the Vikings and Lions. Minnesota lost to Detroit earlier in the year, 31-29.

Green Bay Packers fans could have gotten a jump start on wrapping Christmas gifts for their loved ones as their team dominated the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, 34-0.

The Saints’ defense had no answer for Packers running back Josh Jacobs and as they inched closer to the red zone on each drive, they still came away with no points. The struggles coupled together turned into a demoralizing late-season loss for a season that was already finished.

The Packers looked good early and often on their way to clinching a playoff spot.

Jacobs’ rushing attack helped get Green Bay on the board on its first drive. It ended with a Jordan Love 2-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. Then, Jacobs was rewarded with a touchdown of his own on the team’s second drive of the game.

Before anyone knew it, Green Bay was up 21-0 and the halftime whistle sounded. Aside from a two second-half field goals, it was all the Packers needed to win the game and improve to 11-4.

Love was 16-of-28 with 182 passing yards and a touchdown pass.

Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks each had a rushing touchdown. Jacobs led everyone with 68 rushing yards. Jayden Reed had three catches for 76 yards. Wicks had three catches for 13 yards.

Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler finished 15-of-30 with 153 passing yards and an interception. He led the team with 28 rushing yards. He was sacked three times. New Orleans only ran the ball 20 times.

Jordan Mims had five catches, leading the team, but only had 16 yards. No other player had more than two catches. Foster Moreau had 33 receiving yards to lead the team.

It’s been a really competitive NFC North. The Packers have one of the best records in football but find themselves in third place in the division because the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are both 13-2. Both teams have also wrapped up playoff spots.

Green Bay has one more win than the Washington Commanders, which give them the No. 6 seed in the playoffs if the regular season ended Monday night. The Packers clinched a playoff spot.

The Saints have suffered through a coaching change and a plethora of injuries to most of their key players. If they had been a little luckier, they could have been in the NFC South division race with the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

For now, the Falcons still hold the key to the playoff berth.

The Green Bay Packers picked up a crucial win over the Seattle Seahawks, 30-13, to help their playoff chances on Sunday night.

The Packers moved to 10-4 on the year, maintaining their spot in the wild card race.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks fell out of first place in the NFC West, as their 8-6 record allows the Los Angeles Rams to move ahead of them due to the current tiebreaker.

Things got off to a hot start for the Packers, who came off a tough loss to their divisional foe, the Detroit Lions, last week. 

It was star running back Josh Jacobs finding some huge holes his offensive line created in the Seahawks’ defense that allowed him to tally 42 total yards to ultimately get a one-yard touchdown run into the end zone for the quick 7-0 lead. 

Then, Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw a quick pass on the next drive to Romeo Doubs, who fought his way for the 13-yard touchdown.

Meanwhile, Geno Smith was not finding the same success with his offense, as they only totaled three points in the first half. 

It included a red zone interception from Smith on third-and-9 on Green Bay’s 14-yard line, as he was looking for tight end Noah Fant, but Carrington Valentine jumped the route to pick him off. 

However, the second half saw a Seattle defense that stymied the Packers’ solid run game, and that ultimately led to a number of three-and-outs to give the Seahawks a chance to get back into the game. 

Then, Smith was injured after trying to make a pass midway through the third quarter, and slamming his helmet on the sideline showed that he was clearly injured. 

Sam Howell, the Washington Commanders’ quarterback from 2023, took his place under center, and he took over the rest of the way as Smith was ruled out with a knee injury. 

The Seahawks were able to find the end zone in the fourth quarter, as Zach Charbonnet, taking over the starting role again for an injured Kenneth Walker III, got the right blocks and sprinted 24 yards to make it a 23-13 game. 

It was too little, too late though, as the Packers held off Howell to come away with the victory. 

The nail in the coffin was Doubs’ second touchdown catch of the game, and it was a terrific one as he picked it off the turf in the back of the end zone to make it count for six.

Looking at the stat sheet, Love finished the game 20-of-27 for 229 yards with his two touchdowns, while Jacobs had 94 rushing yards on 26 carries and 42 yards through the air on four catches with his rushing score to open the game. 

For the Seahawks, Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 10 catches for 83 yards to lead the team, though the Seahawks only generated 80 yards on the ground.

A dustup between an overzealous Detroit Lions fan and Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur during a Week 14 matchup has resulted in serious consequences for the season ticket holder.

Fahad Yousif told CBS News Detroit that he has had his season ticket privileges revoked and been banned from all NFL stadiums after he got into a verbal confrontation with LaFleur before kickoff earlier this month.  

"I started trash-talking the other team, so I get that, but I really don't think getting to this level was necessarily warranted," Yousif told the station.

LaFleur appeared to get into a shouting match with Yousif after the presentation of the American flag, which Yousif had been on the field holding. The two were eventually separated by Packers staff and game officials, but the incident left the veteran head coach stunned. 

"I’ve never been a part of something like that," LaFleur told reporters after the game. "He was talking junk to our players — giving them the throat-slash sign, and you’re trying to de-escalate it, and then he gets in my face."

Yousif told CBS News that he had been asked to leave the game at halftime, but he found out only recently that he is no longer allowed to be a Lions season ticket holder, despite being one for the last three years. 

"It was terrible, I didn't think it was real at first. To completely revoke my tickets and never let me be a season ticket member again, it hurts. It hurts bad." 

Yousif said during the interview that he also had been informed that he has been banned from all NFL stadiums until he completes an online code-of-conduct course. 

He expressed understanding for having been in the wrong, but added that he believes that the situation has been "blown out of proportion."

A video went viral on Tuesday that featured Mark Gastineau confronting Brett Favre in 2023 about Michael Strahan sacking the Green Bay Packers legend to break Gastineau's single-season sack record.

In the final game of the 2001 season, Favre appeared to fall onto the field before being tackled by Strahan, giving the New York Giants legend the record (it's since been tied by T.J. Watt).

Gastineau met Favre at a memorabilia event last year, saying Favre had "hurt" him, and he was going to "take my sack back" in a heated exchange.

Favre took to X later Tuesday to "clear the air on the footage."

"Back in 2002, when Michael Strahan sacked me at the end of a game that we had wrapped up, I was in no way trying to hurt Mark Gastineau. I was trying to close out a game and squeeze the last bit of fun out of a hard-fought game," Favre began.

"I booted out of a run thinking it would be wide open, saw Strahan standing there and ducked down. The game was over. There was no need for me to do anything spectacular. It probably wasn’t Michael’s best sack or tackle for loss. In a different game or situation, I would have made a bigger effort to avoid the sack or TFL. But at no point was I thinking about hurting Gastineau.

"Maybe it crossed my mind to help Strahan. I didn’t think it through. That wasn’t my forte at the time. I just wanted to have fun and compete. In retrospect, I understand how Gastineau feels."

Favre then wrote about how Gastineau's value may have diminished not being the "Sack King," but, "I had no way of knowing that then.

"There was no malice on my part. Mark was a great player. My understanding is he’s a great guy and a fun teammate, a guy who played with the kind of joy and passion I tried to mimic. I understand his frustration, but I’m not his enemy," Favre continued.

"A while back, he saw me at a card show and got his frustration off his chest. It’s not the kind of moment that should be filmed and released. It was a private moment of frustration between two old football warriors… I hope this controversy brings attention to just how great Mark Gastineau was. He belongs in Canton."

In an upcoming documentary featuring Gastineau and the rest of the New York Sack Exchange, Gastineau accused Favre of taking a "dive" "for" Strahan. Gastineau awaits Hall of Fame induction, while his partner on the defensive line, Joe Klecko, was recently inducted after a long wait.

Mark Gastineau sure can hold a grudge.

Nearly 23 years ago, Gastineau's single-season sack record was broken by Michael Strahan, but it came in controversial fashion.

Favre's Packers led Strahan's Giants, 34-25, with under three minutes to go.

Favre faked a handoff (pretty passively), rolled out right and Strahan was right there.

With Gastineau in attendance, Favre fell to the ground, and Strahan was credited with the sack, giving him 22½ for the season and surpassing Gastineau, who previously held the record since 1984 with 22.

The Packers' next two plays were runs, and they never got the ball back before time expired, and it was the only sack Strahan had in the game.

It can be debated whether Strahan's record is legitimate, and Gastineau still is not happy.

An upcoming ESPN 30 for 30 featuring Gastineau and his New York Sack Exchange captured a meeting between Gastineau and Favre in which Gastineau spoke his piece.

"We finally met," Gastineau says in the video. Favre begins to reply that he thought they had met previously, while extending his arm out for a handshake, which Gastineau ignores.

"Yeah, right. When you fell down for him," Gastineau said. "I'm gonna get my sack back. I'm gonna get my sack back, dude."

"You'd probably hurt me," Favre said.

"Well, I don't care. You hurt me. You hurt me, Brett," Gastineau answered. "He took my record away from me. Anybody will tell you Brett Favre took a dive. You know it. She knows it. He knows it. Everybody knows it."

Strahan's record has since been tied by T.J. Watt, while Justin Houston and Jared Allen each had 22 in 2014 and 2011, respectively.

All the Detroit Lions do lately is win football games. 

The Dan Campbell-led Lions knocked off the Green Bay Packers to secure an NFL-best 12th win Thursday night. Campbell's fourth down gambles helped lift Detroit to a 34-31 victory. 

The fourth-year Lions head coach elected to keep the offense on the field on fourth down five times. But the fifth time in the fourth quarter proved to be the most crucial. Although quarterback Jared Goff tripped during the handoff exchange with running back David Montgomery, the Lions still managed to put Lions kicker Jake Bates in position for a 35-yard field goal attempt.

Bates split the uprights as the final seconds ticked off the clock.

A fired up Campbell addressed the team in the home locker room after the game.

"I told you you’d never forget this f------- game," Campbell said as Lions players cheered. "We don’t have to talk about how tough we are. We don’t have to talk about how resilient we are. We f------ live it man. We’ve been living it!"

At one point during Campbell's fiery victory speech, he noticed Lions offensive lineman Dan Skipper was leaning over one of the locker room's trash cans. Skipper took over the Lions starting left tackle duties Thursday in place of the injured Taylor Decker.

"There you go, Skip! Keep throwing up, keep doing whatever you’re doing over there," Campbell said. "That’s a way to freakin’ lay it on the line."

Skipper delivered a solid performance, allowing just one pressure on 44 pass blocking plays.

While the Lions have won 12 of 13 games this season, the team has faced its fair share of adversity with injuries.

In October, star defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson fractured his left tibia and fibula. The injury will likely sideline him for the remainder of the regular season, but he could return to action in February should the Lions advance to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

"I'm so freaking proud of you. That’s the way to show up," Campbell said. "You talk about pressure? We live in pressure. That’s where we freaking thrive. You did it again. It doesn’t matter who’s playing for us. It doesn’t matter what’s going on.

"You always find a way to win. This has been in the making, man. This has been in the making. We were all supposed to be here together, man. We’re destined for this. Just stay the course."

The Lions host the Buffalo Bills Dec. 15.

LaFleur appeared to get into a shouting match with a man that appeared to be on the field to help hold up the American flag during the national anthem prior to kickoff. The two were eventually separated by Packers staff and game officials, but the incident left the veteran head coach stunned.

"I’ve never been a part of something like that," he told reporters after the game.

LaFleur expressed disappointment that the fan wasn’t removed prior to the situation escalating.

The Packers will go on a mini-bye before traveling west to play the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 15. 

Green Bay has struggled in divisional play this season, going 1-3 with Thursday’s 34-31 loss to the Lions. Still, they remain in good shape to earn a wild-card playoff berth due to their 8-1 record against non-NFC North opponents.

Dan Campbell sure knows how to keep things interesting - but it worked out on Thursday night.

Campbell's aggressive coaching gave the Detroit Lions a 34-31 walk-off victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The Lions took a 17-7 lead into the half, but the Packers cut the deficit with their first drive out of the locker room after Tucker Kraft scored. On the ensuing drive, Jared Goff threw a rough interception in his own end, and the Packers took advantage by ending the next drive with Josh Jacobs' second touchdown of the night to take a 21-17 lead at the snap of a finger. Goff, though, marched down the field, and he found Tim Patrick in the painted area to regain a three-point lead.

Late in the third, the Lions did what they usually do - be aggressive. But going for it on 4th and 1 from their own 31 didn't work out, and the Packers were inside the 10 to kick off the fourth quarter. Jacobs quickly had his third touchdown of the night, and the Packers led, 28-24. 

But it's hard to quit on the Lions, and Tim Patrick had his second touchdown of the night to get Detroit back up three points.

The Packers kicked a field goal with just under four minutes left to tie the game, but the Lions offense did what they normally do and got inside the 20. However, Dan Campbell did Dan Campbell things, going for it on 4th and inches in what was a huge risk. This time, it worked out, and with Green Bay out of timeouts, Jake Bates was able to walk it off from 35 yards out.

It's now an 11-game winning streak for the Lions, the longest in team history - they are now back in the playoffs for a second consecutive year. It's the first time making the playoffs in back-to-back years since they did so from 1993 to 1995.

Goff was 32-for-41 for 283 yards and three touchdowns, and Jameson Williams led the way with 80 receiving yards. Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for 94 yards on the ground, with each finding the end zone once.

Green Bay is now 9-4 on the season.

Tempers flared early in Detroit ahead of an NFC North matchup with an unusual dispute.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and a Detroit Lions fan were separated on the field before Thursday night’s clash.

The ruckus appeared to occur right before the national anthem when Lions fans were on the field holding the flag for the game.

Apparently, though, a fan in a Brian Branch jersey took it a bit too far, to the point LaFleur told him to "shut the f--- up."

Several Packers players and referees intervened before the fan walked away, excited about what had just happened.

Fans holding the flag took their phones out to record the argument. 

And it wasn’t an ideal start for the Packers once the game actually started. 

A defensive penalty on a third and goal gave the Lions a fresh set of downs, and David Montgomery ran in for a score on the game’s first drive. After Detroit made it 10-0, the Packers cut into the lead with a Josh Jacobs touchdown in the second quarter.

The Lions took a 17-7 lead into the locker room, but the Packers scored touchdowns on back-to-back drives and benefited from a costly Jared Goff interception to lead 21-17.

The Lions and Packers have combined to go 20-4 this season and are first and third in the division, respectively. Detroit is looking to set a franchise record with its 11th straight victory.

Both teams earned home victories on Thanksgiving.

The Lions defeated the Packers last month, 24-14, at Lambeau Field.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre thinks America should take its farms back. 

Favre, who passionately supported and celebrated President-elect Donald Trump amid the election cycle and after his victory, shared a post on X in which he advocated for America taking back farm land owned by China. He re-shared a post that read "Do you think China should forfeit their 192,000 acres of US farmland and banned from purchasing more?" 

Favre captioned the re-share with, "That’s a ton of land. If true, Americans should own American farmland."

Chinese agricultural investment in the U.S. increased tenfold between 2009 and 2016 alone, Fox News Digital previously reported.

Investigative journalist Sara Carter said in 2022 that the Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimated China owned about 192,000 acres of U.S. land in 2019, which she added has been augmented since March 2021 with a collective $6.1 billion in land.

Carter also found that China-owned farmland was located in several critical locations across the U.S., including land in proximity to Laughlin Air Base near the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, but the open, uncontrolled U.S.-Mexican border presents complications given the reported amount of Chinese-linked fentanyl being smuggled in from Mexico. 

Carter reported that a Chinese company purchased 370 acres in the vicinity of Grand Forks Air Force Base and in Montana near a U.S. nuclear site.

The Biden administration failed to properly track foreign ownership of U.S. farmlands and did not appear to have a plan to begin tracking that data, according to an investigation by the U.S. Government Accountability Office in January. 

The investigation found that the USDA has failed to consistently share timely data on foreign investments in U.S. agricultural land as required under the 1978 Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act.

Republican lawmakers and local leaders nationwide have increased scrutiny on land purchases by foreign investors. The increasing number of land purchases has sparked concern that foreign companies and investors, particularly those from China, may be establishing a stranglehold on key U.S. food and energy supplies.

In March, Reps. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., and Blake Moore, R-Utah, proposed a plan to expand the authority of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States over foreign real estate purchases.

Now, Favre appears to be doing his part to spread awareness about the issue as well, ahead of Trump's inauguration and return to the White House on Jan. 20. 

Favre dedicated much of his social media presence to praise of Trump and critique of Democrats in the recent election cycle and even joined Trump on the campaign trail for a rally in Wisconsin. At that rally, Favre ripped both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their handling of various issues in the country during their administration. He particularly made sure to call out Biden for comments he had made about Trump supporters being "garbage." 

"I can assure you we’re not garbage. How dare he say that? I see police officers, teachers, nurses, grandparents, students. I see everyday Americans that make this country great," Favre said.

Favre went so far as to say that voting for Harris would be "insane."

"We’ve already had President Trump once — we’ve already seen Kamala in action. We can compare, and we know which is better," Favre continued. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results… It would be insane to give Kamala four more years in office. So it’s time to bench Kamala and put in the star quarterback."

Favre's Trump support dates as far back as the 2020 election that Trump lost to Biden. 

The Hall of Fame quarterback endorsed Trump on Oct. 30, 2020 in a post on X, citing his stance on issues of freedom of speech, gun rights and support for the military and police. 

"My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment, hard-working tax-paying citizens, police and military. In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me and these principles, my vote is for [Donald Trump]," Favre wrote. 

Favre made this endorsement despite the fact that he has, on multiple occasions, said he believes sports are becoming "too political."

In late 2020 and early 2021, Favre did a podcast called "Bolling With Favre" with co-host TV personality Eric Bolling. Favre stirred backlash with comments on several topics, including his stance on NFL players kneeling for the national anthem and wanting to keep transgenders out of women's sports. 

After Derek Chauvin, the police officer responsible for the death of George Floyd, was sentenced to prison, Favre said on the podcast that he "found it hard to believe" Chauvin intended to kill Floyd. These comments incited backlash from current NFL players, including former Pro Bowl wide receiver Steve Smith, and fellow former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith.

The podcast was discontinued in June 2021.

The Miami Dolphins wanted to put to bed the narrative that cold weather games were their weakness. 

Unfortunately, they were not able to do that after losing to the Green Bay Packers in frigid temps on Thanksgiving Day. In the lead up to Thursday night’s game, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said he believed it all came down to "mindset."

"We’re obviously nowhere near the temperatures where all these other cold teams play at being in Miami, where it’s 80," he said this week. "Sometimes it gets down to 50, but it just gets nowhere near the teams that make it in long stretches. To me it’s just a mindset, that’s really all it is."

However, there appeared to be at least one stark difference in the way each team approached their pre-game warmups. 

In a video shared on social media, several Packers players were seen warming up in T-shirts and shorts before the game. Meanwhile, that same video captured several Miami players bundled up in sweats and hats warming up on the field. 

The Dolphins have now lost their last 12 regular season or postseason games in which the temperature at kickoff was 40 degrees or lower. Thursday was no different, with a temperature of 27 degrees, with 10 mph winds and a wind chill of 18 degrees.

PACKERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FRIGID HOME-FIELD ELEMENTS IN WIN AGAINST DOLPHINS

It follows the Dolphins’ brutal loss in the wild-card round last season. Miami suffered a 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium where it was minus 4 degrees at kickoff with a wind chill of minus-27.

Miami’s last win when temps at kickoff were below 40 degrees was in 2016 against the Buffalo Bills. 

However, Tagovailoa refused to give into the narrative despite Thursday’s loss. 

"I would say, from my standpoint and our team’s standpoint, we’re not going to use any of that as an excuse for why we didn’t get the start that we wanted."

The Green Bay Packers used the elements to their advantage on Thursday against a team not as familiar with playing in the bitter cold.

The home team claimed a 30-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins to cap off the Thanksgiving tripleheader.

Simply put, the Packers were unbothered by the Frozen Tundra from the jump. They did go three-and-out on their first possession, but the punt was muffed and recovered by Green Bay inside the 10-yard line.

Three plays later, Jordan Love hit Jayden Reed for a touchdown. After a Miami punt, the Packers went 12 plays down the field, and Josh Jacobs finished the job. 

The Dolphins made a field goal on their next drive, then both teams exchanged punts before Love and Reed connected for their second touchdown. Miami followed up by turning the ball over on downs and the Packers added a field goal to end the first half up 24-3.

Miami punted to begin the second half and Green Bay responded with a field goal. De’Von Achane scored on the Dolphins' next drive, and a successful two-point conversion suddenly made it a two-possession game.

After forcing a Green Bay punt, the Dolphins got all the way down to the opposing one, but were unable to score. The Packers then made it a three-possession game after kicking another field goal, effectively icing the ballgame – though Tyreek Hill did find the end zone late.

Love went 21-for-28 for 274 yards, with both of his touchdowns to Reed.

Tua Tagovailoa was 36-for-45 for 357 yards, at least doing his part in shutting up the narrative that he can't play in the cold. Jonnu Smith led all receivers with 10 catches for 113 yards.

Green Bay is now 9-3, yet remains in third place in the stacked NFC North. They will visit the 11-1 Detroit Lions next Thursday.

The Dolphins, now 5-7, will host the New York Jets on Dec. 8.

Thanksgiving Day wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a full slate of NFL games.

The football tradition returns with the main course: the Detroit Lions, who host the Chicago Bears on Thursday afternoon. The Lions have played every year dating back to 1934 and hope to pick up their first Turkey Day win in nearly a decade. 

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys, who have been playing on Thanksgiving Day since 1966, return to take on their NFC East rival, the New York Giants. The Green Bay Packers close out the day against the Miami Dolphins, who put a stamp on the holiday last season when they defeated the New York Jets to win the league’s first-ever Black Friday game.

For an extra serving of football, the NFL has scheduled another Black Friday matchup, this time between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium at 3 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

Detroit is 10-1, having won every single game since their Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Bears are hoping to tap into their previous luck and end their five-game slide. 

With injuries plaguing the Lions this week, the player to watch will be star running back David Montgomery as he faces his former team. The Bears, who have lost three of their last five games on the final play, won’t have room for error if they want to stop the Lions’ stellar run game.

The Cowboys host the struggling Giants at home on Thursday, but it’s not the home-field advantage fans are expecting to see.

Despite winning 14 of their last 15 matchups, the Cowboys are 0-5 this season at AT&T Stadium, and a win in what will be the organization’s 57th Thanksgiving Day game could be exactly what they need to keep building momentum after snapping a five-game losing streak with a win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The Giants enter Thursday’s matchup with more questions surrounding the quarterback position even after releasing Daniel Jones last week. Fan-favorite Tommy DeVito walked away from his first start this season with a sore throwing arm. He is questionable for Thursday, while Drew Lock readies for what could be his first start this season.

The Packers headline Thursday’s slate with a prime-time match up against the Dolphins in what could be freezing temps. The weather forecast for Thanksgiving night at Lambeau Field is expected to be in the 30s with lows in the mid-20s, but the cold weather comes amid a hot streak for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. 

Big wins over the New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders saw Tagovailoa throw seven touchdown passes without an interception, and now the team is in the hunt for its fourth straight win and a spot in the playoffs.

But the Packers have won their last three matchups against the Dolphins and are looking to make it four with their second consecutive Thanksgiving game. Green Bay is 4-0 against AFC teams this season.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs scored three touchdowns as the team took advantage of an injury-riddled San Francisco 49ers to win, 38-10, on Sunday.

Jacobs got on the board in the second quarter with a touchdown run from the goal line. He added two more one-yard touchdown scores throughout the rest of the game. He added 106 yards on 26 carries to help push the Packers to the big win.

It was the first time he had three rushing touchdowns in a game since he was with the Las Vegas Raiders. In October 2022, he scored three times against the Houston Texans.

Packers quarterback Jordan Love was 13-of-23 with 163 passing yards. He had two touchdown passes in the win.

He found Tucker Kraft in the first quarter to get on the board. The two teamed up for an 11-yard touchdown. He threw his second touchdown pass of the day to Malik Heath with 4:14 left in the game. It was more than enough to get the Packers the win.

Green Bay finished with 325 total yards and had 22 first downs on 11 drives.

San Francisco was bitten by the injury bug.

The 49ers were missing Brock Purdy, Trent Williams and Nick Bosa. Purdy was dealing with a shoulder injury, Williams suffered an ankle injury and Bosa left last week’s game with a hip and oblique issue and didn’t play against the Packers.

Brandon Allen started for San Francisco. It was his first start since January 2022, when he was with the Cincinnati Bengals. It showed.

He was 17-of-29 with 199 passing yards, a touchdown pass to George Kittle and an interception. Kittle had six catches for 82 yards.

Christian McCaffrey failed to get going as he has yet to fully jet out of the gate since his return from his own injury struggles. He had 31 rushing yards on 11 carries. He also had three catches for 37 yards.

Green Bay improved to 8-3 on the season and San Francisco fell to 5-6.

The honeymoon is officially over. 

The New York Jets’ tumultuous season has led to a massive overhaul that saw owner Woody Johnson fire head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas in a span of just a few weeks, and, according to a report, the quarterback position could be next on the chopping block. 

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported Saturday that tensions between Johnson and Aaron Rodgers have boiled over this season, which began with Super Bowl aspirations.

Sources told the NFL insider that Johnson has lost confidence in Rodgers’ ability to end the Jets 14-season playoff drought, and while no decisions have been made, Rodgers "could be placed on injured reserve or possibly benched over the next few weeks." 

Sources around the league even speculated the four-time league MVP could be cut before the season ends. 

But the feeling is reportedly mutual. 

JETS OWNER WOODY JOHNSON FLOATED BENCHING AARON RODGERS BEFORE FIRING COACH, GM: REPORT

Russini reported that the relationship between Johnson and Rodgers has been strained for months, and, according to sources with the team and around the league, the former Green Bay Packers star wants to play next season, just not with the Jets. 

The report follows an earlier report from the publication that indicated Johnson’s desire to bench Rodgers after the team’s Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos. According to sources, Johnson was talked out of the move, but, after another loss, the decision to fire Saleh was made. 

Hoping to restart the offense, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was then stripped of play-calling duties just a few days later in favor of passing game coordinator Todd Downing. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, the team’s one bright spot at the time, was also promoted to interim head coach. 

Despite the changes, the Jets went 1-5 after Saleh’s exit and sit at third in the AFC East with a 3-8 record heading into their bye week. Douglas was fired this week after the team’s latest loss, and the Jets appear further away from a playoff push than ever before.

The Chicago Bears were in position to snap their three-game losing streak last Sunday with kicker Cairo Santos needing to make a 46-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Green Bay Packers. 

Santos’ kick was blocked by Karl Brooks, and the Packers held on for a 20-19 victory, handing the Bears their fourth straight loss and dropping them to 4-6 on the season. 

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said on Monday they were going to submit the blocked kick to the league, saying he thought there should have been a penalty on the Packers because "they were obviously on our long snapper."

The NFL rule prohibits players from lining up directly across from the long snapper, or contacting the long snapper while his head is still down immediately after the snap.

Eberflus thought Packers defensive lineman T.J. Slaton made contact with Bears long snapper Scott Daly immediately and that the referees should have thrown a flag.

If officials rule that a defender illegally contacts the long snapper with his head down, it is a 15-yard unnecessary roughness call. The Bears would have had a chance to try another field goal. 

49ERS' BROCK PURDY, NICK BOSA RULED OUT FOR POTENTIAL SEASON-DEFINING GAME VS. PACKERS

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the NFL’s league officiating office informed the Bears that the Packers had made a clean play on the blocked field goal attempt.  

While there was contact between Slaton and Daly, the NFL deemed Slaton’s contact legal, as players are allowed to contact the long snapper as long as his head is not down.

It wouldn’t have mattered if the NFL agreed with Eberflus and deemed the contact illegal, because there are do-overs. The call instead would have been acknowledged as a missed call by the league, and the Bears would still be 4-6. 

The Bears hope to stop their losing streak when they take on the 8-2 Minnesota Vikings in an NFC North battle on Sunday.
