The 2025 Moto G Stylus has a sharper display and “enhanced” stylus for $400

There aren't many phones these days that come with a stylus, and those that do tend to be very expensive. If you can't swing a Galaxy S25 Ultra, Motorola's G Stylus lineup could be just what you need. The new 2025 Moto G Stylus is now official, featuring several key upgrades while maintaining the same $400 price tag.

The Moto G Stylus 2025 sticks with the style Motorola has cultivated over recent years, with a contoured vegan leather back. It comes in two Pantone colors called Gibraltar Sea and Surf the Web—one is dark blue and the other is a lighter, more vibrant blue. They look like fun colors. Moto's language makes it sound like there could be more colors down the road, too.

The spec sheet paints a picture of a solid mobile device, but it won't exceed expectations. Motorola moved to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which runs at a slightly higher clock speed than the Gen 1 it used in the 2024 model. It also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the base model. An upgraded version with 256GB of storage and the same 8GB of RAM will be available, too.

Motorola’s first Edge 60 phone feels like canvas

1 April 2025 at 22:30
The canvas finish only comes on this teal version of the Edge 60 Fusion.

Motorola announced the first phone in its midrange Edge 60 series, which ships with a novel twist: a faux-canvas finish. The Edge 60 Fusion looks the part otherwise, with its molded camera module and surprisingly slim body, but the basic specs match the low price tag — just £299.99 (around $390) in the UK.

The canvas-effect finish might be one of the phone’s main draws, but it’s only available on the “amazonite” (read: teal) version of the phone. It’s also launching in blue and pink colors, but these use a faux leather finish instead. Every version has IP68 and 69 ratings, meaning the phone is fully protected against dust, immersion in water, and high-pressure sprays.

There’s some international variation in the Edge 60 Fusion’s specs, but the model launching in the UK is slim for its size, at less than 8mm thick, despite fitting in a fairly large 5,200mAh battery behind its 6.67-inch OLED screen. Models elsewhere pack an even bigger 5,500mAh cell, but run a touch thicker.

The Fusion comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, but is likely to be held back by the relatively basic MediaTek Dimensity chipset used — either a 7300 or 7400, depending on the market, but there’s not much difference between them. Cameras are limited too — it may look like four on the back, but one is the flash and another a flicker sensor, so you only really get a 50 megapixel main lens and a 13 megapixel ultrawide.

The Fusion is expected to be the first in a series of Edge 60 phones — there were five models across last year’s Edge 50 line. None of those launched in the US, and this year’s phones likely won’t either, so American buyers will have to make do with January’s $299.99 Moto G Power, which lacks the Fusion’s OLED display and canvas feel, but has wireless charging. Motorola is expected to announce its updated Razr flip phones soon, with rumors predicting a wooden finish, in a throwback to 2014’s wood-backed Moto X.

Motorola’s new Paris Hilton edition Razr is the ultimate Y2K throwback

11 February 2025 at 08:23
A taste of 2005 in 2025.

Motorola has teamed up with Paris Hilton to release a limited-edition version of the Razr Plus. It’s exactly what you expect: pink, pricey ($1,199.99 to be exact, $200 more than the standard model), and comes with a custom baby pink vegan leather case that looks like a teeny handbag. It even includes an alternative sparkly case strap in — you guessed it — pink.

It’s a collaboration that makes complete sense if you’re familiar with the original Motorola Razr V3’s history. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Rihanna were massively influential in its marketing and were frequently photographed using their own pink editions of the flip phone. So much so that Motorola brought Hilton in to help market the 2024 relaunch. This throwback — which pays homage to remarkably similar special edition Razr releases with tennis star Maria Sharapova and supermodel Naomi Campbell — is the ideal combination to market towards Gen Z’s obsession with Y2K fashion and culture.

The Paris Hilton edition Razr Plus will be available in limited quantities on Motorola’s website starting on February 13th. Alongside everything I’ve already mentioned, it’s also boxed in special packaging, and comes pre-loaded with exclusive wallpapers and ringtones / notifications recorded by Paris herself — including a spin on the iconic “Hello Moto” soundbite.

What year is it?

The changes to the Razr Plus itself are otherwise entirely aesthetic. Aside from the leather-like texture, the color is a near match to the existing “Hot Pink” edition Motorola released last year. Other differences include Paris Hilton’s signature scrawled on both the back of the device and its pink case, and her “that’s hot” catchphrase engraved on the phone’s folding hinge.

Pink Y2K devices seem to be having their marketing moment. If this Razr throwback collab is still too modern for your liking then there’s always the Barbie Phone.
