Trump says ‘legendary’ crowd reaction at UFC 314 shows the administration is ‘doing a good job’

President Donald Trump said early Sunday morning that the crowd’s "legendary" reaction to his arrival at UFC 314 in Miami this weekend is a sign of the administration’s success.

Speaking to the press aboard Air Force One early Sunday morning, Trump reacted to the crowd’s roaring chants of "U-S-A" as he, and several members of his cabinet, arrived at the Kaseya Center.

"Somewhat legendary," Trump said. "It was legendary. It’s a great honor to have that kind of ovation, really because it says we’re doing a good job. If we weren’t doing a good job, we’d get the opposite."

Trump sat beside the octagon alongside UFC CEO Dana White as well as other members of his administration, including DOGE policy advisor Elon Musk, FBI Director Kash Patel, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Also in attendance was the president’s granddaughter, Kai Trump.

Fox News Digital's Paulina Dedaj was on Air Force One on Sunday morning and asked Kai her thoughts on the crowd’s rowdy welcome.

TRUMP WALKS OUT AT UFC 314 TO ROARING CROWD CHANTING 'U-S-A!'

"It was really cool, it was really cool," she said with a smile. "I thought it was awesome. This was my second UFC fight and I really enjoyed it."

The president called Saturday night’s fighters "modern-day warriors," and said he spoke to each one of them after their fights.

"I thought it was great. I thought they were all great. Have you ever seen that before? Have you ever witnessed that? That’s something right? Those are seriously tough people," he said. "Every one of them came up at the end and they were great. I mean, they’re all warriors – modern-day warriors."

President Trump even delivered a punch of his own at his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

"I’m always available unlike Biden. Think Biden would do an interview at two in the morning? He wouldn’t do one at nine in the morning."

LSU coach Brian Kelly makes bold prediction about Nico Iamaleava after QB leaves Tennessee

LSU head coach Brian Kelly weighed in on the saga of former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

On Saturday, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel announced Iamaleava would not return next season.

Heupel said Iamaleava's decision to skip practice during his name, image and likeness (NIL) contract negotiations with Tennessee led to the split.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"This program has been around for a long time," Heupel said. "There are a lot of great coaches, a lot of great players who came before that laid the cornerstone pieces, the legacy, the tradition that is Tennessee football. It's going to be around a long time after I'm gone and after they're gone."

Kelly predicted Iamaleava's situation will become more common as NIL evolves.

"I think there are changes coming to NIL. I think this is the first version of correction," Kelly said Saturday.

'COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS A JOKE,' NFL STAR DECLARES AMID SPORT'S LATEST NIL DRAMA

"I think we are going to see a lot of this. This was a new world. I think we are going to navigate the best we can, but I think there are going to be other situations that come. I think we are going to have to do the best we can. I think there (is) going to be better information that will allow people to look at comps for positions and say, ‘That makes sense’ and ’That doesn’t make sense.'"

NIL has had a historic effect on college sports, and, this month, several high-profile programs opted not to hold traditional spring games. Some of the schools' decisions dealt with concerns it would open the door for more players to enter the transfer portal or be enticed by another programs' NIL packages.

LSU was among those schools that did play a spring game this year.

Iamaleava was making $2.4 million on an NIL contact. But when he signed it, it was reported to be worth an estimated $8 million. Iamaleava received the initial payment when he was still enrolled in high school. ESPN reported the total value of the deal could have reached nearly $10 million.

Trump walks out at UFC 314 to roaring crowd chanting 'U-S-A!'

MIAMI — President Donald Trump walked out to a raucous Kaseya Center crowd in Miami at UFC 314 on Saturday night.

Trump had an entourage, which included his granddaughter Kai Trump and UFC CEO Dana White, with him as the crowd screamed when they saw him head toward the center of the arena to greet some of his administration.

Among those administration members were DOGE policy advisor Elon Musk, who was seen walking down from Air Force One earlier on Saturday, FBI Director Kash Patel, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"Is there anyone else that has a walk-in other than a fighter?" UFC commentator Joe Rogan said as Trump walked out with music and all.

Fans were also heard chanting "U-S-A," to which Trump reacted to with a big fist pump. The arena also turned on "YMCA," the song Trump used many times during his campaign trail last year, and the crowd went berserk when they showed him on the big screen.

Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One, where he revealed who he believed would be the biggest winner in Miami.

TRUMP ‘EMBODIES WHAT BEING AN AMERICAN IS ALL ABOUT,’ UFC'S DANA WHITE SAYS

"You have a lot of good fights," Trump said. "Who's going to win? Dana White. Dana White is going to win."

Of course, White isn't the one in the octagon, but the UFC CEO, who has put together another great fight card.

White has also been a strong supporter of Trump over the years, including appearances on the campaign trail and speaking at several rallies.

Prior to his inauguration in January, White praised Trump calling him the embodiment of "what being an American is all about."

"Think of all the things President Trump had to go through to get back here. All the powerful forces that tried to take him down: the mainstream media, partisan prosecutors, assassins. It’s absolutely insane what this man has been through. And only President Trump could have fought through all those obstacles, all the attacks and still come out the winner," White said at the time.

"He embodies what being an American is all about. We are the most toughest, resilient people on Earth and nothing can stop us when we unite."

White also commented in the past about how loud the reaction is when Trump walks out during UFC events.

"When you think about fighter walkouts, whenever a fighter walks out to the [octagon], I mean, the two biggest that actually shake the arena are President Trump and Conor McGregor," White told TMZ Sports back in November.

The last came in November at New York City's Madison Square Garden (MSG). It was more than a week after defeating former Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, and thunderous applause rained down, as he entered MSG for UFC 309.

Trump will watch UFC 314’s card, which is a co-main event, featuring Michael Chandler against Paddy Pimblett in the lightweight division, while Alexander Volkanovski will fight Diego Lopes in featherweight.

Tennessee's Josh Heupel sends clear message after QB fallout: 'No one is ever bigger than the program'

Tennessee head football coach Josh Heupel spoke for the first time since leaving quarterback Nico Iamaleava off the Volunteeers’ spring roster, and his message was clear.

Team first.

Iamaleava made some college sports history as the first player to ever hold out during the NIL era after he didn’t show up to practice Friday while trying to negotiate a better payment at Tennessee next season.

Tennessee removed the quarterback from its roster ahead of the team’s spring game Saturday. Iamaleava has reportedly made his intentions known that he'll enter the transfer portal when it opens Wednesday to play elsewhere.

Heupel spoke to Vol Network Saturday, noting that while this is the current state of college sports, it doesn’t mean the team finishes second.

TENNESSEE MOVES ON FROM NICO IAMALEAVA AFTER QB SKIPPED PRACTICE AMID NIL NEGOTIATIONS: REPORTS

"It’s the state of college football," Heupel said. "At the end of the day, no one is ever bigger than the program. That includes me too.

"We’ve got an opportunity. We’ve got a bunch of guys who are going to give their all for Tennessee. We move forward. Got a great group. Let’s go compete."

Iamaleava is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in college football entering the 2025-26 season. But he wanted to renegotiate his $10 million NIL deal with Tennessee, which spanned multiple years, according to ESPN

ESPN also reports that Tennessee became aware that Oregon reached out to Iamaleava about potentially transferring to join Ducks head coach Dan Lanning and his program.

Now, Heupel will search for a new quarterback in the transfer portal.

"It’s unfortunate, just the situation and where we’re at with Nico," Heupel told reporters, according to the New York Post. "I want to thank him for everything that he’s done since he’s gotten here."

The Vols have redshirt freshman Jake Merklinger and true freshman George MacIntyre on their roster, and both played in the spring game Saturday.

Ex-ESPN employee Jemele Hill 'disappointed' Dodgers visiting Trump at White House

Ex-ESPN employee Jemele Hill called out the Los Angeles Dodgers for visiting President Donald Trump at the White House to celebrate their 2024 World Series victory.

Hill said on her podcast she was "disappointed" with the Dodgers for heading to our nation’s capital, and she brought up recent news of Jackie Robinson’s military service being briefly taken down from the Department of Defense’s website.

"I’m not surprised the Dodgers went to the White House, but I’m still disappointed they chose to [mingle] with the president, whose administration just recently tried to literally erase Jackie Robinson’s [legacy]," Hill explained.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

"The people who are dedicated to erasing history do so because they actually want to repeat it. So, the Trump administration’s efforts to erase Jackie Robinson is on brand. When they did that, you would think you would have heard a loud and angry response from the Dodgers. Instead, you heard [crickets]."

While Hill implies the Trump administration deliberately tried to erase Robinson’s military record from the site, the Department of Defense told OutKick the department had instructed employees to flag all DEI content for removal through artificial intelligence, though staffers were given just one week to complete the task.

EAGLES' CELEBRATION AT TRUMP WHITE HOUSE A ‘GOOD THING,’ TEAM OWNER SAYS

Because of the short timeline, mistakes were made throughout the process, which includes the Robinson article, which had "DEI" in its URL.

Sean Parnell, assistant to the secretary of defense for public affairs, confirmed the OutKick report with a statement.

"Without question, this task was an arduous but incredibly important undertaking. We enforced an aggressive timeline for our DOD services and agencies to comb through a vast array of content, while ensuring that our force remains ready and lethal," Parnell said. "Every now and then, because of the reality of AI tools and other software, some important content was incorrectly pulled offline to be reviewed."

ESPN was first to report Robinson’s military service was removed from the DOD's website. The department restored the article shortly after the report surfaced.

Later this month, the Philadelphia Eagles are heading to the White House to visit Trump. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, who has donated to Democrats in the past, called it a "time-honored tradition" to be invited to the White House, via Pro Football Talk.

"So, there was no reticence whatsoever," Lurie added. "To be celebrated at the White House is a good thing. There were special circumstances (in 2018) that were very different, and so this was kind of an obvious choice and look forward to it.

"When you grow up, and you hear about, ‘Oh, the championship team got to go to the White House,’ that’s what this is. And, so, we didn’t have that opportunity and now we do. I think we’re all looking forward to it."

Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau paired in Masters' final round after brilliant third round

The 89th edition of the Masters is in for a thriller Sunday.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are in the final pairing, and golf fans will remember how these two are connected after the 2024 U.S. Open.

DeChambeau won the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, while McIlroy had an epic meltdown with the putter late in the round to throw away his potential title.

This time, McIlroy posted yet another 6-under round at Augusta National Saturday after surging up the leaderboard Friday.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

McIlroy put his disappointing first round, when he finished at even par after two double bogeys on the second nine, in the rearview mirror after posting a 66 in his second round. Then, he got off to a hot start, going birdie, eagle, birdie to quickly take the lead.

It was a lead he didn't relinquish even after faltering on holes eight and 10, putting a bogey on the scorecard to move back down to 9-under.

However, McIlroy got those shots back with a birdie on No. 13 and No. 15, which ruined his first round after he hit a chip into the water. He buried another eagle to get him to 12-under.

RORY MCILROY CHIPS IN EAGLE, BRYSON DECHAMBEAU SINKS DEEP BIRDIE TO START MASTERS THIRD ROUND WITH FIREWORKS

So, McIlroy, who needs a green jacket to accomplish a career Grand Slam after winning every other major on the PGA Tour, has a chance Sunday to finally get it, while also winning the elusive fifth major of his career.

DeChambeau will be paired with McIlroy and is searching for his own first Masters win. DeChambeau ended his third round in style with a long, winding birdie putt on the 18th hole to finish with a 69 on the day and 10-under for the tournament.

He recorded three birdies in his final four holes, and the LIV Golf star let out a roar with fans around the 18th green.

Buckle up, folks, because Sunday at Augusta is bound to have some fireworks like we saw Saturday.

While all eyes are on McIlroy and DeChambeau after the third round Saturday, Zach Johnson, the 2007 Masters champion, flew up the leaderboard after posting a 66 before the two golfers even teed off.

Johnson is now tied for 10th heading into Sunday at 4-under for the tournament.

Rose, the Masters’ leader after the first two rounds, was paired with DeChambeau on Saturday, hoping to hold on to that lead heading into the final round.

But it was a battle from the get-go. Rose had to scramble to save pars, and it ultimately caught up to him. He posted five bogeys and two birdies to finish 3-over on the day.

Rose is now tied in sixth at 5-under, and he will need to look more like he did on Thursday, when he posted a 65 in the opening round, to get a chance at walking through Butler Cabin for a green jacket fitting.

Here is the Masters leaderboard heading into the final round Sunday:

1. Rory McIlroy: -12
2. Bryson DeChambeau: -10
3. Corey Conners: -8
T4. Patrick Reed: -6
T4. Ludvig Åberg: -6
T6. Jason Day: -5
T6. Scottie Scheffler: -5
T6. Shane Lowry: -5
T6. Justin Rose: -5
T10. Zach Johnson: -4
T10. Nico Echavarria: -4
T10. Xander Schauffele: -4
T10. Sungjae Im: -4

Arch Manning hype train will lead to Texas star becoming college football's 'ultimate villain,' ESPN host says

Just a couple of years ago, Arch Manning was one of the most highly sought high school recruits in the nation. He ultimately decided to take his potential and high-profile last name to Austin.

When Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft, it opened the door for Manning to move into the starter's role for the Texas Longhorns in 2025.

As spring games around the country get underway, ESPN host and commentator Rece Davis made a bold prediction about the role Manning could play when he takes the next step in his college career.

As the season gets closer, the hype surrounding Manning is bound to escalate. Davis suggested Manning could become "the ultimate villain" because some fans will end up appreciating him even more, while others could experience more feelings of resentment.

NFL INSIDER ISSUES ARCH MANNING WARNING FOR TEAMS HOPING TO DRAFT HIM

"It’s unfortunate. Because of the attention he’s going to get, he’s going to become a fan favorite by those outside of Texas. And (for) others outside of Texas, he’s going to become the ultimate villain, and I don’t just mean Oklahoma people," Davis explained during a recent edition of the "College GameDay Podcast."

Davis then compared the Manning hype train to what often occurs when a new movie or TV show becomes popular and is well received by the public, but inevitably some will strongly oppose it or attempt to discredit it all together.

"That’s what’s going to happen with Arch," Davis predicted.

Manning appeared in 10 games last season, including two he started in place of an injured Ewers.

The young quarterback finished the 2024 season with 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.

Texas defeated Clemson in the first round of the College Football Playoff, before a thrilling overtime victory over Arizona State in the quarterfinal. The eventual national champion Ohio State Buckeyes eliminated the Longhorns from playoff contention in January.

Texas opens the 2025 season against the Buckeyes in Columbus Aug. 30.

Rory McIlroy chips in eagle, Bryson DeChambeau sinks deep birdie to start Masters third round with fireworks

We're in for quite the week at Augusta National Golf Club, as the third round of The Masters had fireworks on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of two stars battling for the green jacket.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau began the day at 6-under and 7-under, respectively, but those numbers quickly changed, thanks to some fantastic shots to begin their rounds.

McIlroy had gotten off to a birdie start with a perfect first hole. But a louder roar came when DeChambeau, in a group with Saturday's leader Justin Rose, teed off right behind him.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

DeChambeau's approach shot hit the green, but it landed on the back with a long birdie putt ahead. With a downhill break, DeChambeau was likely trying to get it close for an easy par to start the round, but the line was too perfect, as was his speed.

DeChambeau and the group of patrons around the first green watched as his ball trickled down the slope and found the bottom of the cup to tie him with Rose at 8-under. DeChambeau let out a small fist pump, though he remained stoic in his demeanor, knowing 17 holes were ahead.

But McIlroy's second hole sent patrons into a frenzy, as he took the lead, thanks to some soft hands around the second green.

TRUMP SHARES MASTERS ROOTING INTEREST AS TOURNAMENT REACHES PIVOTAL WEEKEND

An absolute monster drive carried the right fairway bunkers on Hole 2 that were about 330 yards out on the par-5 585-yarder. McIlroy set himself up for a potential eagle, but his approach went a bit too deep, which required a chip for his third shot.

It was a good look to get the ball close for a tap-in birdie to make his start even better, but he saw the line and executed the chip perfectly.

The ball bounced twice before checking up and working its way toward the hole, and it was the perfect line as it sank for a three and a quick 3-under swing to start his third round.

The crowd went wild as McIlroy took the sole lead, which he furthered even more with a birdie on No. 3.

It's "Moving Day" at Augusta, with players trying their hardest to put themselves in position to hopefully capture the victory in this year's first major. McIlroy and DeChambeau, winners of previous majors, have yet to collect their own green jackets, and they're currently playing like potential champions.

At the time of this post, McIlroy is 5-under on the day, which gives him 11-under for the tournament. DeChambeau is three strokes behind him at 8-under, while Rose and Shane Lowry are tied third at 7-under.

Bill Belichick reveals massive Patriots regret he made twice, in new book

Bill Belichick is solely focused on revitalizing the North Carolina Tar Heels' football program in the first college coaching stint of his illustrious career.

But his new book, "The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football," Belichick reflects on his time with the New England Patriots

And while there’s a bunch of lessons to learn about success and what it takes to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Belichick did reveal a big regret he had for a decision he made while leading the way in Foxborough – one that he made twice.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

The New York Post reports an entire chapter dedicated to "Mistakes," which, yes, brings up not being able to keep Tom Brady a Patriot for his entire career.

However, Belichick also mentions passing up on a particular MVP quarterback in the league today: Lamar Jackson

When Jackson was drafted 32nd overall in 2018, the Baltimore Ravens traded back into the first round to nab him with the final pick on day one. Since then, he has won two MVP awards over seven seasons, though he hasn’t had the postseason success he’d like along the way.

BILL BELICHICK DOES NOT MENTION ROBERT KRAFT IN NEW BOOK: REPORT

The Patriots were coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, giving them the 31st overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. They would select Sony Michel out of Georgia at that spot instead of taking Jackson. The Philadelphia Eagles, winners of the Super Bowl during the 2017 season, traded their No. 32 pick to the Ravens, and the rest is history.

But why twice? Well, the Patriots owned the No. 23 pick earlier in the NFL Draft, which they used on offensive tackle/guard Isaiah Wynn, another Georgia product, that shored up their line in front of Brady.

However, Brady was about to be 41 years old, and while he was still performing, the team had to think about the future at the most important position in the sport.

It wasn’t an immediate regret for the Patriots, as they’d go on to win the Super Bowl over the Los Angeles Rams, where Michel capped a rookie season with 931 yards and six touchdowns. Wynn also went on to start 50 games for the Patriots from 2019 to 2022.

Now, Jackson didn’t get off to a roaring start to his career, with Joe Flacco still the veteran option above him on the depth chart. But when it was time to pass off the starting duties to Jackson, he took off under John Harbaugh. The Ravens made the playoffs five of the next six seasons following the Patriots’ Super Bowl, while things started to slowly crumble in Foxborough.

Brady left before the 2020 season, and he’d go on to win the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who also employed Rob Gronkowski at tight end.

The Patriots would take Mac Jones 15th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft in hopes he would be the right answer at the position. And though they made the playoffs in his rookie campaign, he didn’t pan out long-term as the Patriots posted sub .500 seasons for three straight years.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott says he could 'definitely' play 'today' as he recovers from hamstring injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is ready to roll.

Prescott, 31, said he would suit up for a game right now as he recovers from a season-ending hamstring injury.

"If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that," Prescott said via ESPN on Friday. "It's about moving forward healthy to make sure I can play 17 times, 20 (games)-- whatever we get to when the time's right."

Prescott sustained a partial avulsion, meaning the hamstring tendon partially tore off the bone during the Cowboys' Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He underwent surgery on the hamstring in November.

"I'm getting close to where I want to be. I don't want to put a percentage on it," Prescott said. "I know we've got team activities coming up, imagine myself being involved in some sort, if not all.

'COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS A JOKE,' NFL STAR DECLARES AMID SPORT'S LATEST NIL DRAMA

"Then again, I just understand my age, what I've had, what I've went through, it's about being my best in the fall. So I'm not rushing anything, but I'm where I want to be."

Prescott started eight games for the Cowboys last season, and they went 3 for 5 in his starts. He completed nearly 65% of his passes for 1978 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The three-time Pro Bowler threw nearly as many interceptions last season (8) as he did the year before (9) despite only playing in eight games.

The Cowboys signed Prescott to a four-year, $240 million contract prior to the season beginning last year, which made him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL

Aaron Rodgers could have a new NFL team on his radar: report

As four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains in the free agency pool, another potential option may have opened up for him in the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints could be desperate for a veteran option at the position after news that Derek Carr’s 2025 season could be in jeopardy due to a shoulder injury.

NFL Network reports that surgery could be an option for Carr, which "threatens his availability for this season."

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Injury was a theme in Carr’s second year in New Orleans last season, as he missed seven games last year due to a concussion and fractured hand.

Now, with his season in jeopardy, perhaps the Saints could tap into Rodgers to see if the Big Easy is somewhere he’d want to star next year.

SAINTS' DEREK CARR'S SEASON IN JEOPARDY DUE TO NEW SHOULDER INJURY: REPORT

"Expect to see a report, sooner [rather] than later, that the Saints have reached out," Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said on Friday. "Whether it goes anywhere remains to be seen. However, New Orleans becomes another option for Rodgers."

The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers were the other two frontrunners for Rodgers, but the former is out of that running after signing Russell Wilson, the Steelers’ starting quarterback, last season, as well as Jameis Winston this free agency period.

It was expected, then, that Rodgers would be heading to the Steel City, but he hasn’t made his intentions known just yet. The Minnesota Vikings continue to remain an option, but the organization is adamant that J.J. McCarthy, their first-round pick last season who had to miss the whole year due to injury, is their starter heading into camp.

As for the Saints, Carr’s absence for the season would leave the quarterback position up to Spencer Rattler or Jake Haener, as the depth chart reads. Rattler filled in for Carr during his injuries last year, and it didn’t work out for the 2024 fifth-round pick, as he went 0-6 in his six starts.

While Rodgers may be an option, the ninth overall pick belongs to the Saints this year, and they will be an interesting team to watch. Could they move up above other quarterback-needy teams to nab their potential quarterback of the future?

It’s worth noting that Carr has just one year left on his deal with the Saints before becoming a free agent in 2027.

Rodgers, 41, is coming off a failed tenure with the New York Jets, going 6-12 in his 18 starts with the team.

Jose Luis Ballester apologizes for apparent unsavory actions during first round actions at Masters

Jose Luis Ballester won the 2024 U.S. Amateur, which granted him a spot at the Masters this year, but the 21-year-old's first time competing in the major on the famed course was overshadowed by a moment during the first-round action.

Ballester seemingly admitted that he had urinated in Rae's Creek at Amen Corner at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday. The Spaniard said he "completely forgot that we had those restrooms to the left of the (13th) tee box," and after playing partner Justin Thomas "had an issue on the green," he said he had taken advantage.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

But as the hours and days following the incident in question passed, Ballester began making it clear that he was ready to put the now-infamous moment behind him.

"I already apologized to the club, and I think we just move on from this moment," Ballester responded to questions about whether Augusta National officials had spoken to him about his actions.

NOTABLE PLAYERS WHO MISSED THE CUT AT THE MASTERS, INCLUDING ANGEL CABRERA IN HIS AUGUSTA RETURN

Ballester also competes in the collegiate ranks for the Arizona State Sun Devils. He arrived at Augusta National on Thursday wearing a hat that said "Sun Devils" upside down.

Friday did not go according to plan for Ballester, as he ended up missing the cut. Nevertheless, he had a positive takeaway and took advantage of the opportunity to learn from Thomas and his other partner, Scottie Scheffler, who has won two of the last three Masters.

"These guys are here especially because of how good they are around the greens, how much knowledge they have, how good they are at perceiving the slopes and reading greens," Ballester said.

"I hit many good shots with drivers and irons both days, but what I felt that those guys are in a completely [different] level from where I am is around the greens."

Last year, amateur Neal Shipley spent his final round with five-time winner Tiger Woods.

Ballester acknowledged the disappointing result at the tournament, but he also expressed optimism about his future. "It was not a great week for me in that aspect, but also looking forward to the next opportunities that I get to see how I compare myself with them," he said.

As of Saturday afternoon, Justin Rose was atop the Masters Leaderboard at 8 under par. Meanwhile, Scheffler was working to move out of a four-way tie for fifth place as third-round action played out.

John Daly rakes in exorbitant amount of money during Masters week, thanks to annual Hooters appearance

John Daly isn’t playing in the Masters, but he still had a good week in Augusta.

Daly, 58, made a small fortune at a Hooters located about a mile away from the Masters, selling $40 hats, $10 autographed golf balls and $250 boxes of cigars, among other things.

Last year at Hooters, Daly’s team told ESPN that he had made $780,000 in sales, and that may increase this year due to the rainout on Monday.

Daly hasn’t played in the Masters since 2006, but he still wins every time he goes to Augusta during Masters week.

He has endeared himself to fans over the years with his style of play, outfits and colorful personality.

Daly dresses in flashy attire on the golf course and is always seen with a cigarette in his hand on the course. He revealed that he hates water and that he used to drink 12 to 20 Diet Cokes a day to replace it, in an interview a few years ago.

TRUMP SHARES MASTERS ROOTING INTEREST AS TOURNAMENT REACHES PIVOTAL WEEKEND

However, Daly has dealt with a litany of health issues over the years. He underwent emergency hand surgery in January.

In February, Daly revealed in a podcast interview that he has been in remission of bladder cancer for four years.

He went to the University of Arkansas on a golf scholarship and qualified for the 1986 U.S. Open as an amateur. He turned pro in 1987 following his career at Arkansas, and joined the PGA Tour in 1991.

Tennessee moves on from Nico Iamaleava after QB skipped practice amid NIL negotiations: reports

Tennessee is reportedly moving on from starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava a day after the quarterback was a no-show at practice due to NIL contract negotiations.

Head coach Josh Heupel informed the team of the decision to move on from Iamaleava during a team meeting on Saturday morning, according to ESPN

Iamaleava’s decision to skip practice and meetings on Friday was the "driver" of the decision to move on, according to the report.

Iamaleava's no-show at practice was a "surprise" to the team, according to the report.

Iamaleava, 20, will enter the transfer portal and look for a new team after just one season as Tennessee's quarteback, according to On3

Iamaleava was reportedly set to earn $2.4 million this season but wanted to renegotiate his deal to $4 million per year and skipped practice to holdout for a new NIL contract.

TENNESSEE’S NICO IAMALEAVA UNDER SCRUTINY OVER NIL, PRACTICE DRAMA

The quarterback was the No. 23 overall recruit in the 2023 class, and when he initially signed with Tennessee’s NIL collective in 2022, Iamaleava was set to make $8 million over his college career with the Vols.

He was at offensive coordinator Joey Halze’s house for dinner with his teammates on Thursday night, according to OutKick, which is why his absence from practice and meetings on Friday was such a surprise.

Teammates were concerned about Iamaleava’s safety, as he had not responded to texts from teammates or officials, according to the report. Not even 48 hours after dinner with his teammates, Iamaleava was no longer with the Tennessee football program.

In his lone season as Tennessee’s starting quarterback, the six-foot-six quarterback led the Vols to a 10-3 record as a freshman, with 2,616 yards and 19 touchdowns and five interceptions.

MLB umpire called 'perfect game' in Royals win over Twins, metrics tracking shows

MLB umpire Mark Ripperger is receiving praise for how he called a recent game.

Ripperger was behind home plate for Thursday's game between the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins. While the Royals' shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.'s sacrifice fly broke the tie in the seventh inning, much of the talk after the game was about Ripperger.

The umpire was credited with calling a "perfect game," which is something that reportedly has happened just one other time in the Umpire Scorecards era.

2025 WORLD SERIES ODDS: DODGERS FAVORED TO WIN IT ALL, BRAVES FALL

Umpire Scorecards compile the major league's advanced pitch-tracking data to rate how accurate an umpire was during a given game. The data also considers how an umpire's call impacts the game.

Ripperger made calls for 136 pitches on Thursday. According to Umpire Scorecards metrics, he called every pitch accurately.

Kansas City trailed Minnesota by a run on Thursday before rallying in the seventh inning. Royals starter Michael Wacha pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two earned runs. He also struck out four batters.

The Royals' 2-3 win over the Twins on Thursday was followed by a 7-0 loss to the Guardians on Friday.

Former MLB umpire Pat Hoberg is credited with the only other perfect game Umpire Scorecards has recorded. Hoberg accomplished that feat in Game 2 of the 2023 World Series.

Paige Spiranac praises Nick Dunlap for finishing out Masters participation despite poor play

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac had kind words about Nick Dunlap’s performance in the second round of the Masters on Friday after he had a pretty awful first go at Augusta National.

Dunlap became the first Masters competitor in a decade, and the youngest in the tournament’s history, to shoot 90 at the course. He dropped five shots over his final three holes to end the nightmarish Thursday and did not speak to reporters afterward.

He could have easily withdrawn from the tournament as he fell way off pace to make the cut. However, Dunlap showed his resolve and bounced back.

The 21-year-old carded a 71 in the second round on Friday – one of the best scores for anyone who stepped into the tee box. Unfortunately, the cut line was +2 and he was +17 for the tournament.

"Massive props to Dunlap for shooting under par today after his first round 90," Spiranac wrote on X. "He could have easily WD but he stuck it out and came back with a great round! We’ve all been there. Golf can eat you alive but your next great round is always right around the corner."

After Thursday’s disastrous first round, the golf world felt for Dunlap.

I’ve played with him a few times this year, and what a great player, what a great guy," Robert MacIntyre said. "He was struggling out there today, (but) his attitude was solid. He didn’t get in the way. He didn’t lay off anything that was going to affect his two other playing partners because we’ve got a job to do.

"I feel for him today, but he’ll come back."

Dunlap was far from the only one to miss the cut. He talked about his two rounds afterward.

"I had more of a knot in my stomach today than I've ever had starting a round of golf," he said, via ESPN. "I had not a very good gut feeling about it stepping up today. Proud of myself to post something under par."

Mystery remains over cause of death of former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis

The cause of death for former NFL Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis was reportedly undetermined more than a year after he died at a Florida home. He was 35.

Davis’ body was found at a home registered to his grandmother in Southwest Ranches, Florida, WSVN-TV reported. No foul play was suspected, police said at the time.

"Due to the totality of the circumstances, including inconsistencies between the scene and the findings at autopsy, the cause and manner of death in this case is best classified as undetermined," according to ESPN, which cited the Broward County Medical Examiner’s report.

The report noted that Davis had abrasions near his right eye and a hemorrhage in the muscles of his back. A toxicology report also indicated the former defensive back had substances in his system, including amphetamines or methamphetamines.

The Miami Dolphins selected Davis in the first round of the 2009 draft. He was traded to the Indianapolis Colts before the start of the 2012 season, and he had a few great seasons with them.

NFL GREAT TERRY BRADSHAW CLARIFIES ROLE IN OPENING JAMMED PLANE DOOR AFTER CLAIMS OF HEROISM

He joined the Buffalo Bills after the 2017 season and only made one appearance for them, retiring in the middle of a game.

In 121 games, Davis had 22 interceptions and 395 tackles. He was named to the Pro Bowl while with the Colts in 2014 and 2015.

Former NFL star tight end Vernon Davis, Vontae’s brother, released a heartbreaking statement at the time of his death.

"This thing definitely caught me by surprise. I just don't know what to make of it," Vernon told the Daily Mail at the time. "I'm leaning on the detectives to figure it out, but, right now, we have no answers.

"They are going to run tests, and they said they'll get back to us. It could be as long as a month, a month and a half, until we know anything."

'College football is a joke,' NFL star declares amid sport's latest NIL drama

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons blasted the state of college football amid scrutiny over Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava on Friday.

Iamaleava was reportedly a holdout at practice this week as he sought to renegotiate his name, image and likeness deal from $2.4 million to $4 million per year. He had 2,616 passing yards and 19 touchdown passes as the Vols finished 10-3 during the 2024 season.

As the discourse entered social media, the former Penn State star was unhappy with what college football has become.

"College football a joke now! Yall minds well just make college into a semi pro league! Actually hold players accountable to the contracts they sign!" he wrote on X.

He then responded to another person on X who claimed that college football had always been a semi-pro league and that players were getting paid just illegally.

"Nah college was never about money! College is bout building character!" Parsons wrote back. "I am the man I am today because of the brotherhood and the amazing coaches I’ve had during my time at Penn State!

"We are failing kids now because life isn’t easy and we are allowing them to quit!"

Iamaleava is just the tip of the iceberg of what could happen in college athletics sooner than later.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark and Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti were on Capitol Hill last week to lobby Congress on getting help legislating NIL in college athletics.

NCAA POWER FOUR COMMISSIONERS SAY THEY 'NEED HELP FROM CONGRESS' TO REGULATE NIL, TRANSFER PORTAL

Yormark told Bret Baier on "Special Report" on Thursday that "we need help from Congress."

"From where I sit today, federal pre-emption, having a standardized platform that oversees and governs NIL is critically important," Yormark said. "Today, 34 states see it very differently, and it’s relatively unruly."

"The volume of laws that are being passed on a state level are making it really difficult for us to regulate and compete nationally," added Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti. Every single time someone doesn’t like a ruling, or something comes from the NCAA, we end up in litigation. Those rules then get aggregated, and we’re back to the start.

"We’re hopeful that the combination of what we’ve done in the settlement will give us an opportunity, with some help from Congress, to really put a system in a place that has some stability.

"We’ve crossed the bridge of being willing to provide revenue … but we need to have some structure. We can’t have a system that has complete unregulated movement."

NBA legend slams LeBron James for shirtless warmup: 'Put a fine on that'

Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas took exception to LeBron James shooting shirtless before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Houston Rockets on Friday night.

Thomas, an analyst for NBA TV, took issue with James’ alleged lack of professionalism as he warmed up.

"I just totally 100% object to this," Thomas said. "If I were the GM or coach, I would never let one of my players walk out on the floor looking like this. I mean, we’re a professional NBA league. We ain’t summer league. We ain’t at the YMCA."

Thomas agreed with Steve Smith when he said he thought the NBA should go back to making players wear suits.

"I just think the professionalism in our NBA league has diminished so much," he continued. "Look, I like LeBron, I’m a fan of his so forth and so on. But to walk out on the floor before a game with no shirt on and shoot – I mean come on man. Where we at? What we doing?

EX-NBA STARS CALL OUT JA MORANT OVER GRENADE CELEBRATION

"Adam Silver, if you want to fine somebody, fine that. Put a fine on that."

James appeared to respond to Thomas’ comment in a post on X after the Lakers won the game, 140-109.

"Man I was going to say something but it’s useless at this point in my career! Anyways more important CONGRATULATIONS JJ on a 50 win season in the WEST & Post Season nod!" he wrote.

James had 14 points, eight assists and four rebounds.

Tom Brady flashes legendary arm for fans at grand opening of new store; discusses Joe Montana, Super Bowl win

Tom Brady rarely heard cheers when he was in New Jersey playing in the NFL but the environment at the American Dream on Friday night was completely different than what it was at MetLife Stadium during his career.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion opened a CardVault by Tom Brady premium trading card store at the American Dream. It’s the first flagship store located outside of the Boston Area.

Brady fans wearing New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers gear flocked to the enormous shopping center and filled all three levels just to get a glimpse of the legendary quarterback. He spoke to co-founder Chris Costa for a brief Q&A session before he had a treat for the fans.

He showed off his legendary arm, firing footballs into the crowd – not showing any signs of rust. Fans were extremely excited about the possibility of catching a football from one of the greatest players of all time.

Brady spoke about some of the favorite trading cards in his collections. One, a dual autograph with San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana, and the other he has of teammates Randy Moss, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Wes Welker.

He talked about his admiration for Montana first.

TOM BRADY OPENS CARDVAULT SPORTS CARD STORE AT AMERICAN DREAM, OPTIMISTIC ABOUT HOBBY

"The San Francisco 49ers were the team to beat in the NFL and they had a tremendous run from the early 80s through the late 90s – they were a dynasty. When you grow up in the Bay Area and you have that, it gives you a lot of reasons to love sports and love football," he said. "And that’s when I fell in love with football, because of Joe Montana. And he’s still my idol today.

"He was an incredible quarterback and he set the tone every single day for what greatness really looks like. And every pro football player, every quarterback that’s ever played in the NFL understands how talented and how poised this guy was. This guy was a champion – four Super Bowl wins in for Super Bowl appearances. Nobody performed in Super Bowls as great as this guy and the fact that I’m on a card with him signed, it had to be in my collection."

Brady then talked about how he needed to rely on his teammates when the Patriots came back to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.

The Patriots famously trailed 28-3 when they stormed back to stun the Falcons and win the Super Bowl title in overtime.

"It’s 2016, the end of the season, came down to one game against the Falcons and it was pretty rough being down 28-3," he recalled. "But I had a group of teammates that never quit and we did fight to the end. We played our butts off for the last 18 minutes of that game and went from what would have been the toughest loss of my career to the greatest victory that maybe the sport has even seen.

"And we get to make jokes with Falcons fans for the rest of our lives."

CardVault by Tom Brady offers rare and premium trading cards for hobbyists who want to elevate their collections. The store also provides an environment for collectors of all kinds.
