These $89 Good American Jeans Are 30% Off — And Shoppers Say They’re Crazy Flattering

24 May 2025 at 16:00

Shopping for jeans can be straight-up exhausting. One pair fits your hips but has gaps at the waist. Another looks good from the front but does nothing for your butt. And comfort? Forget it. Finding a flattering, actually wearable pair starts to feel impossible.

But as someone who shops for a living, I can confirm: it’s not you, it’s the jeans. And more importantly, you need to know where to look. Good American solves the struggle by offering jeans made for real bodies that do what they say they will. Right now, the brand’s Power Stretch Pull-On Flare Jeans are 30% off for Memorial Day, and they’re the kind of flattering pair that’ll make you forget everything you’ve suffered through before.

These aren’t your typical flares. With no buttons, no zippers and no stiff waistband, the Power Stretch Pull-On style is a dream! They feature a high-rise fit, flared legs, tummy-smoothing tech and a gap-proof waistband — all wrapped up in sculpting, curve-hugging stretch denim.  It’s the kind of no-fuss, put-on-and-go jeans that make you feel like you have your life together.

One shopper said they waited two years before finally giving these jeans a try and now they’re a customer for life. The fit felt so tailored, that they immediately bought a second pair. Another reviewer mentioned they’ve struggled for years to find a good pair of flares with a long enough inseam and these finally delivered. “I can even wear heels with them,” they wrote. “Plus, the stretchy waistband doesn’t dig in when I’m bloated.”

So if you’re looking for the perfect pair of jean, this might be your moment. Just don’t be surprised if you wear them three days in a row.

Jussie Smollett Settles Civil Lawsuit, Donates $60K While Denying Any Wrong

24 May 2025 at 15:25

Jussie Smollett is maintaining his innocence while settling his civil lawsuit stemming from his alleged 2019 attack hoax.

“Over six years ago, after it was reported I had been jumped, City Officials in Chicago set out to convince the public that I willfully set an assault against myself. This false narrative has left a stain on my character that will not soon disappear,” Smollett, 42, wrote in a statement shared via Instagram on Friday, May 23. “These officials wanted my money and wanted my confession for something I did not do. Today, it should be clear…They have received neither.”

He continued, “The decision to settle the civil lawsuit was not the most difficult one to make. After repeatedly refusing to pay the City, I was presented with an opportunity to make a charitable donation in exchange for the case being dismissed. Despite what happened there politically, Chicago was my home for over 5 years and the people became my family. Therefore, making a donation to benefit Chicago communities that are too often neglected by those in power will always be something I support.”

The Empire star went on to reveal that he had made a $50,000 donation to the Building Brighter Futures Center for the Arts, a foundation that supports underprivileged youth.

Jussie Smollett Reportedly Checks Into Rehab After Jail Release

“This organization was my choosing and I’m comforted that there will be at least one winner from this experience,” he continued in the statement. Smollett also shared that he donated an additional $10,000 to the Chicago Torture Justice Center “who provides resources to communities healing from the violence of the Chicago Police Department.”

The Chicago Torture Justice Center confirmed the actor’s donation in an Instagram post on Friday.

“This generous donation from Mr. Smollett is so meaningful and deeply impactful as we celebrate and honor the 10th anniversary of the historic Reparations Ordinance in Chicago,” the post read in part. “This 10th anniversary offers us a moment of reflection on what is possible when we stand together and imagine a better future for our communities. A world that values healing and repair, instead of punishment and incarceration.”

The post concluded, “Again, we are so grateful to Mr. Smollett and every donor who supports this necessary work.”

Smollett reported that he had been a victim of an alleged hate crime in January 2019, claiming that two men confronted him with racial and homophobic slurs before wrapping a rope around his neck and pouring bleach on him.

Police and city officials, however, claimed the actor was behind the hoax hate crime, going on to accuse him of submitting a false police report and claiming he knew his attackers, brothers Olabingo and Abimbola Osundairo, who alleged they were paid by Smollett to stage the attack. The city sued the actor for $130,000 related to the police investigation into the alleged attack. Smolett denied the claims and countersued.

Jussie Smollett's Conviction for 2019 Alleged Hoax Overturned in Appeal

Smollett was found guilty on five counts of felony disorderly conduct in December 2021 and sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months probation in March 2022. Two years later, in November 2024, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned the conviction, citing prosecutorial issues.

In his Saturday statement, Smollett maintained his innocence, writing that while he “was exonerated by the Illinois Supreme Court in a[n] unanimous decision and the civil case will now be dismissed, I’m aware that it will not change everyone’s mind about me or the attack I experienced.”

“However, despite arduous and expensive attempts to punish me, I am innocent in the eyes of God and our criminal justice system,” the statement continued. “What I have to do now is move forward. I will continue creating my art, fighting passionately for causes I hold dear and defending my integrity and family name with truth.”

He concluded by thanking his supporters over the years, saying that their “prayers and belief in me mean more than words can properly express.”

Meghan Markle Is Just Like Us: Duchess Flies Commercial on American Airlines

24 May 2025 at 14:49

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has no problem flying commercial.

According to a woman by the name of @ninavidavlogs on TikTok, Meghan recently boarded an American Airlines flight she was working on and left the crew a handwritten letter thanking them for their attention and service.

The Duchess is “so beautiful in person,” Nina said in the video, shared on Thursday, May 22. “She was so sweet. She wrote us a little handwritten note back. So we wrote her note that said, ‘It’s a pleasure of serving you. We love you real bad.’”

“And she wrote this note back that says, ‘Dear AA Girlies, thank you for the love, hospitality, and handwritten note. You know me well,’” the woman continued.

She went on to add that the Duchess of Sussex ended her personalized note with the words: “Forever Meghan.”

The Meghan Markle Debate: Why She's So Polarizing — And Can She Ever Win?

“You know, I can barely read this cursive, but look at this handwriting: it’s giving rich. It’s giving expensive. It’s giving princess,” she explained. “She also said she loved my nails and the captain on my last flight said they were intense. So, sir, it doesn’t matter what you think. The Queen says she likes them.”

In addition to flying among the common folk, Meghan, 43, has been promoting her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast. She was joined on the Tuesday, Mat 20, episode of her the podcast by her former stylist-turned-CEO of hair and beauty brand Kitsch, Cassandra Morales Thurswell. During the episode, the two reminisced about the former actress’ past career.

“I said, ‘Cassie, can you help make this stylish and give me a vibe?’ To which you said, ‘Yes,’” Meghan recalled of her time going to auditions for various roles. Thurswell remembered, “I had no idea what I was doing, but I really enjoyed our time together — it was so fun.”

“This is pre-Suits for me,” Meghan explained. “This is really early days when I was auditioning. And I just remember literally going through things, and you think, ‘OK, here are a couple staples that you need.’ This is important because it speaks to … you talk about not having a strategy, but always hustling. And being able to say, ‘OK, well, I don’t necessarily know how to do this, but I’m gonna figure out a way to be good at it.’”

Meghan Markle Stopped Watching 'Housewives' Because of 'Drama' in Her Life

One of Thurswell’s choices even helped Meghan out. “You called me and said, ‘I just found the best pair of black patent leather Louboutin wedge flats and they are $200,’” Meghan shared. “I remember going, ‘I cannot,’ and you were like, ‘I promise you, you are going to wear them.’ And of course, I wore those shoes until the red wore out. I wore those shoes on my final audition for Suits when I booked the part.”
