- Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa are reuniting on "The Flip Off."
- They starred in "Flip or Flop" together for a decade, continuing the show after they divorced.
- Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, have supported Haack amid her recent divorce.
Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa were a package deal on HGTV for over a decade.
The pair starred on "Flip or Flop" together for 11 years, even filming the show after they separated and divorced.
They haven't appeared together on screen since the show ended in 2022, but they are reuniting in January on "The Flip Off" alongside Tarek El Moussa's second wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
Here's a timeline of their personal and professional relationship, from their early days working in real estate together to HGTV fame.

AP
In the early 2000s, El Moussa and Haack met while working at a real-estate office, as he shared in his 2024 book "Flip Your Life."
They joined forces professionally and personally, and in 2008, the housing market crash hit them hard. According to The OC Register, they had to move to a cheaper home before "Flip or Flop" started.

Shortly after getting married, Haack gave birth to the couple's first child, Taylor.

According to "Flip Your Life," El Moussa had a friend help him film an episode of a reality show that detailed how to flip a home in 2011.
He submitted the episode to a production company, which loved it. The company created a sizzle reel of El Moussa and Haack, and HGTV became interested in making the show come to life.

In 2012, HGTV signed the couple for a weekly program about the process of flipping houses, which would become "Flip or Flop."
The series premiered in April 2013.

As El Moussa shared in "Flip Your Life," a "Flip or Flop" viewer who was a nurse noticed a lump in El Moussa's neck while she was watching the show. She emailed producers about it, leading El Moussa to see a doctor.
He was diagnosed with stage 3 thyroid cancer after exploratory surgery, and he had his thyroid and the surrounding lymph nodes removed. He also underwent radioactive iodine therapy to treat the cancer.
Two months after he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, El Moussa decided to look into his medical history, and he ended up getting diagnosed with testicular cancer after noticing something abnormal on a test. He had one testicle removed to treat the cancer.
Both cancers are in remission today.

In 2015, Haack and El Moussa welcomed a son, Brayden.

Us Weekly reported that, on May 23, 2016, Orange County police were called to El Moussa and Haack's home in response to a "possibly suicidal male with a gun."
Eyewitnesses reportedly told police they saw El Moussa "run out of his back door, jump over his back fence, and walk northbound into the hiking trails of the Chino Hills State Park."
A witness said Haack was following him and was "crying and shaking." One of Haack's friends was in the home at the time and told police she saw him grab a handgun before he left.
In "Flip Your Life," El Moussa said he left their home "after an especially heated confrontation with Christina" and took a pistol with him in case he saw any wildlife. He also said in the book that he had a concealed carry license for the firearm.
El Moussa also wrote in "Flip Your Life" that Haack called the police, and they took him home in handcuffs after tracking him down via a helicopter, as per their "protocol."
He added that the incident marked the end of his marriage to Haack.
"And that was the very last time we were together as a family: with Christina walking down the driveway, crying, and me sitting there in handcuffs, asking myself, 'What in the world is going on?'" he wrote in his book.

In December 2016, El Moussa and Haack officially announced their separation in a statement to Us Weekly, referencing the firearm incident.
"Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage," the statement said. "We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution."
"There was no violence and no charges were filed. We chose to get counseling to sort out our relationship. Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage," the statement went on to say.
"During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be," they added. "We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together."

About a month after announcing their separation, El Moussa's lawyer told People that El Moussa had officially filed for divorce and confirmed that he was requesting spousal support from Haack.

In the spring of 2017, amid reports that Haack and El Moussa weren't getting along, Haack spoke to E! News about their relationship.
"The kids are great," she said. "My son is literally like the happiest kid on the planet. He brings so much joy to our lives. Taylor is amazing. She's feisty and funny. She's a very sweet, loving girl."
"Tarek and I are in a very good place right now," she said. "We're doing a really good job. We share the kids 50/50, and our communication is great. Like I said, the kids are happy, so everyone's doing really well."

Haack filed her own petition for divorce in August 2017.
In her filing, she cited "irreconcilable differences," according to People.

During an appearance on "The Doctors," El Moussa said he felt his marriage to Haack failed because of communication issues.
"I feel like if we had better communication, we would have had a better relationship," he told them. "I think as time went on, you get busier and busier. It was like overnight: businesses, TV, all these things happened overnight, then the cancer and the back surgery. It just kind of started pushing us apart from each other."

A representative for the pair confirmed to Page Six that their divorce was finalized on January 22, 2018.

Haack and Anstead, a former HGTV star and the owner of Radford Motors, first started dating in October 2017. They tied the knot just over a year later, in December 2018.
They welcomed a son, Hudson, nine months later in September 2019.

Although El Moussa and Haack continued to film "Flip or Flop," Haack also filmed her own HGTV docuseries, "Christina on the Coast," which spotlighted her solo renovation endeavors.
The first season of the series gave HGTV double-digit rating growth, according to a press release from the network.
She went on to film "Christina in the Country" as well.

People reported that El Moussa yelled at Haack and compared her to his then-fiancée amid "Flip or Flop" filming.
"Look at me, look at me, look at me. It's called winning," El Moussa said to Haack, according to People. The publication also reported that he called his ex-wife a "washed-up loser" during the incident.
People later reported that a source said El Moussa was "super remorseful" about his comments. But the same source said that Haack and El Moussa weren't friends.
"They're exes who share a history and children and a workplace, but outside of co-parenting, they're not friends," the source told People.

Haack announced she was engaged in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Hall, a real-estate agent based in Austin, and Haack only dated for a few months before he popped the question.

The duo shared the news in separate Instagram posts, saying a March 2022 episode of "Flip or Flop" would be the series finale.
HGTV confirmed the series was ending in a statement provided to Business Insider, adding that Haack's and El Moussa's individual series would continue.
"Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are long-time, fan-favorite stars on HGTV, and it's true that 'Flip or Flop' is coming to an end after an epic 10-season run as a top-rated unscripted series," a representative for HGTV said in a statement to BI. "More than 90 million viewers have watched the popular series since its premiere in 2013."
"We look forward to seeing more of Tarek and Christina's real life, real estate and renovation adventures in upcoming episodes of their solo series 'Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa' and 'Christina on the Coast,'" the network added.
Neither Haack nor El Moussa mentioned each other in their posts.

HGTV
People reported that a source familiar with the situation said, "Tarek and Christina are generally cordial. They're co-parenting, and nothing gets in the way of that."
"The show was just too intimate of a setting at this point, and it was time to close that chapter," the source said.
Representatives for El Moussa and Haack did not respond to a request for comment from BI at the time.

On May 9, 2022, The Daily Mail published pictures of the El Moussas, Haack, and Hall at Brayden's soccer game on May 8.
In some pictures, Heather Rae El Moussa and Haack appear to be arguing, and Hall and Tarek El Moussa look like they are fighting in separate photos. The Daily Mail reported that Brayden's soccer coach had to separate Hall and Tarek El Moussa.
The incident occurred just one day after Heather Rae El Moussa seemed to confirm on the "Selling Sunset" reunion that her husband had called her a "hotter, richer version" of Haack during their on-set fight.
On May 11, 2022, representatives for Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa confirmed they argued in a statement to BI and said they had "resolved" their issue.
"A personal matter was discussed and has since been resolved," the statement said. "We are focused on co-parenting as a team moving forward."

On May 8, Haack shared on Instagram that Brayden had an emergency appendectomy, as well as his Meckel's diverticulum removed.
In an Instagram story she posted on May 9, Haack said the experience was a "wake-up call."
"Stressful 24 hours but a good reminder how important team work / co-parenting is," she said on her story. "We are all under pressure but when it really matters we were all there for Brayden doing our part."
"Sometimes a scary situation can be a good wake up call. In the end all the other stuff is just 'noise,' what matters is the kids," the post went on to say. Haack tagged Heather and Tarek El Moussa, as well as Hall, in the post.
Heather Rae El Moussa posted a similar sentiment on her Instagram story.
"We all pulled together as a family during this stressful time," she said. "The kids will always be the main priority to all of us."

After the show's abrupt ending in March 2022, Haack and El Moussa reunited to film a proper finale for the series later in the year.
The finale aired on December 1, 2022. It showed the exes renovating a 2,200-square-foot duplex home and reminiscing about the series' 11-year run.
In a press release announcing the series, HGTV described "The Flip Off" as "a battle to see who can find, buy, renovate, and flip a house for the biggest financial gain'" in which the El Moussas would compete against Haack and Hall.
The show marks El Moussa and Haack's first on-screen reunion since "Flip or Flop" ended.

Haack deleted nearly all traces of Hall from her social media following their separation.

The El Moussas spoke to paparazzi about Haack and Hall's separation, saying he wasn't part of "The Flip Off" following the split, E! News reported.
"We support her," Heather Rae El Moussa said.
"Life's tough. Shit happens," Tarek El Moussa said. "We got one shot at life, and we gotta do what's best for us, so whatever she needs, we're here to help."

Amanda Edwards/Getty Images
Haack spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her breakup and "The Flip Off" in an interview that aired on November 15. She told the outlet she "did not enjoy" filming with Hall.
"It was not fun, to be honest," Haack told ET. "I did not enjoy filming with him. So having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier."
She added that filming "would have been hard" because Hall was jealous of Tarek El Moussa.
The El Moussas spoke to ET separately, and Heather Rae El Moussa agreed that filming with Hall wasn't fun.
"I don't want to be mean, but it was kind of nice to see him go," she said.
"The Flip Off" will premiere on January 29, 2025.

- They have recently been involved in a public legal battle related to one of Lively's movies.
Hollywood A-listers Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been together for over a decade.
The two met on the set of a movie they were both working on and started out as friends. They have since walked many red carpets, supported each other's work on a range of films, and had four children.
Here's a timeline of Lively and Reynolds' relationship.

Kevin Winter / Staff/Getty Images
In the summer of 2010, Lively and Reynolds were cast as the lead roles in "Green Lantern" and made their first public appearance together at Comic-Con in San Diego.
They weren't a couple at the time — Lively was still dating "Gossip Girl" costar Penn Badgley, while Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson.

Bryan Bedder/Getty Images
Shortly after filming started, Lively and Badgley ended their relationship. An insider told Us Weekly they had been keeping the news quiet for a while but were still friends.

Kevin Mazur / Contributor/Getty Images
Not long after, Reynolds and Johansson released a joint statement confirming their divorce.
It read, "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

After months of reports, a source confirmed to People that the "Green Lantern" costars were "very much a couple" and that they were "really happy together."
Lively was also spotted leaving Reynolds' apartment on his birthday weekend.

After months of keeping things relatively low-key, the pair got married at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, in front of their family and friends.
Although they did not release photos, they shared details about Lively's couture ball gown by Marchesa, their giant dessert table, and the bouquets.
Years later, in an interview with Fast Company, Reynolds apologized for his and Lively's choice to get married at that plantation, which had enslaved Black people.
"It's something we'll always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for," he said. "It's impossible to reconcile."

In an interview with Allure, Lively spoke about how happy she was with Reynolds, saying, "Right now, I'm so peaceful. I've never been happier in my life."
She also made it clear she wanted kids, saying, "I've always wanted a big family. Oh, I'd love 30 (children) if I could."

In an interview with Vogue, Lively wasn't shy when it came to expressing her love for her husband.
She said, "Everything we do in life we do together. If I'm working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table. What we're going to eat. He's a beautiful writer — he's written a lot of stuff for us. And he's got a great barometer and he knows me, so he will tell me if it's not as good as it can be."

Lively took to her then-new lifestyle website, Preserve (which has since been deleted), to announce her first pregnancy. She posted a photo of herself among other photos of other pregnant people.
"Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there," she wrote at the time.

In January 2015, Lively gave birth to the couple's first child,
After a few months without many details about the baby, Reynolds revealed their daughter's name on "The Today Show."
He said, "It's James. Everyone knows. I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media, because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

At an amFAR New York Gala, Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly they were "buddies" when they first met.
Apparently, they went on a double date together, except she was with another man and he was with another woman.
He added, "That was the most awkward date ... it was weird at first, but we were buddies for a long time. I think it's the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends."

In October 2016, the couple welcomed their second child.
Us Weekly later confirmed that the couple had named their second daughter Inez.

In an interview with O magazine, Reynolds talked about the date when he knew he wanted to marry Lively.
He said, "We were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that's open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, 'Want to dance?' No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, 'Oh, I think I just crossed a line.' And then I walked her home."
"And, uh, you know, I don't really need to go into what happened after that," he added.

Lively seemed to announce her third pregnancy in May 2018 while attending the "Detective Pikachu" premiere to support her husband, who voiced the lead character in the film.

In October, multiple publications confirmed that the couple welcomed their third child.
Swift, who wrote the song "Betty" for her album "folklore" that features the names of Lively and Reynolds' other two kids, James and Inez, seemingly confirmed the couple's third child's name is Betty.

"I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called 'Green Lantern,'" Reynolds recalled on the "SmartLess" podcast in July 2021, per HollywoodLife.
He said he made the first move when they were both going on a train to Boston.
"Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, 'Well, I'll ride with you,'" he said. "We got on the train and we rode together. I was just begging her to sleep with me."

In September, Us Weekly confirmed that Lively was pregnant with the couple's fourth child.
The actor seemed to reveal her pregnancy while attending the 10th annual Forbes Power Women's Summit. She wore a gold minidress and an onlooker told Us Weekly that she was not "trying to hide" her pregnancy.
According to E!, she seemed to allude to her growing family during the event, saying, "I just like to create. Whether that's baking or storytelling or businesses or humans, I just really like creating."

In August, the couple attended the New York premiere of Lively's film "It Ends With Us."
Lively starred in the romantic drama alongside Justin Baldoni, who was also the film's director.

Months after the release of "It Ends With Us," Baldoni and Lively became involved in a lot of public controversy. Reynolds has also become a part of the ongoing feud and legal battle.
In December, Lively filed a legal complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment, conspiring to damage her public reputation, and retaliation. The New York Times detailed her allegations in an article that same month.
Shortly after, Baldoni filed a libel lawsuit against the Times for its story about Lively's complaint. The same day, Lively filed a suit against Baldoni, his team, and others.
In January, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively, Reynolds, and others. Baldoni pushed back on claims he sexually harassed Lively and orchestrated a smear campaign against her, instead accusing her and Reynolds of trying to damage his career.
The controversy and legal battle is ongoing. For more details, read Business Insider's in-depth timeline of the Lively and Baldoni feud.
A complete timeline of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's relationship and divorce

Kevin Winter / Getty
- For 12 years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were one of Hollywood's most iconic couples.
- They met around 2003 and wed in 2014 — Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.
- The pair reached a divorce settlement in December 2024, after eight years of legal battles.
For 12 years, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were one of Hollywood's most prominent couples.
But what started as a pairing of two mega powers, who met on the set of "Mr and Mrs Smith" while Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, dissolved into eight years of legal fighting. Jolie accused Pitt of physical abuse (no charges were filed) and Pitt sued Jolie for selling her stake in their French winery.
Here's a timeline of their relationship.

20th Century Fox
Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston and Jolie had recently filed for divorce from Billy Bob Thornton at the time of filming around 2003.
People reported that in a 2006 interview, Jolie confirmed to Vogue that they began developing feelings for each other. She said, "I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, 'God, I can't wait to get to work.'"
She added: "It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we'd earlier allowed ourselves to believe. And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration."

Vince Bucci/Getty Images
After months of rumors that Pitt and Jolie had an affair on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Pitt and Aniston released a statement about their separation to People: "For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media."

Evan Agostini/Getty Images
Shortly after the announcement, People reported that Aniston filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."

A month later, Us Weekly published photos of Pitt and Jolie with Jolie's son, Maddox, in Kenya.
In September 2005, Aniston told Vanity Fair: "The world was shocked, and I was shocked."

Junko Kimura/Getty
The now-iconic spread included many photos of the two as a couple with a family.
That same month, People reported that Jolie adopted 6-month-old Zahara from Ethiopia with Pitt by her side.

Less than a year after Pitt's divorce from Aniston was finalized, People confirmed Jolie and Pitt were expecting a child.
That same month, a judge granted a request to change Maddox and Zahara's last names to Jolie-Pitt.

In May, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was born in Namibia. Their obstetrician told People that Pitt was in the operating room the whole time.

In March, Pax, 3, became the newest member of the Jolie-Pitt family, after the couple traveled to Vietnam to adopt him.
Reuters reported that Jolie supposedly filed the papers without Pitt because Vietnamese law does not allow unmarried couples to adopt children, but single individuals can.

Jolie announced she was expecting twins at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival,
She told Access Hollywood, "We weren't expecting twins. So it did shock us."

Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were born in Nice, France in July.
A month later, they appeared on the cover of People. Jolie talked about their family life in an interview with the magazine, saying, "It is chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time."

In February 2010, News of the World reported the couple had split. The couple later sued the publication for the false report.
In July, BBC News reported that the couple was paid damages from the company that owns the newspaper and planned to donate it to their charity, the Jolie-Pitt foundation.

Pitt's manager confirmed to People that the couple was engaged, saying: "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time."

Jolie wrote a New York Times op-ed about undergoing the surgery, writing: "I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive … Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries."
She added: "We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."

Pitt and Jolie privately wed at their Chateau Miraval in France and all of their six children were involved in the ceremony.
Maddox and Pax walked their mom down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. Jolie wore an Atelier Versace gown and a veil that featured designs from her kids' drawings embroidered into the fabric.

Universal Pictures
Pitt and Jolie starred in their second film together, a relationship drama called "By The Sea" which Jolie directed.

After an annual blood test showed markers that could be "a sign of early cancer," Jolie decided to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a preventative measure.

Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images
One of the last times Pitt and Jolie were publicly spotted together as a couple was in July 2016, when they were photographed with Shiloh.
Prior to this, they had been apart for months while working on various projects.

Citing irreconcilable differences, Jolie officially filed for divorce. She petitioned for primary custody of the six children.

In September, during a family flight on the couple's private jet, Pitt was reportedly "drinking heavily." Early reports alleged that Pitt physically hurt 15-year-old Maddox Pitt-Jolie during the flight, but later reports stated that Jolie separated Pitt from their kids.
Pitt was later investigated by The LA Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI, but both cleared Pitt of all charges in November.

The couple then hired a private judge and reportedly signed agreements to keep the details of their case private. After that, they were relatively quiet about their split for a while.

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Jolie's attorneys said in a court filing that Pitt hadn't paid any "meaningful" child support since they split. It was not clear at the time of the filing what constituted "meaningful" support.
Pitt's lawyers said in return that Pitt had in fact paid Jolie more than $1.3 million in contributions over the past two years and that Pitt gave Jolie an $8 million loan to buy a new property. Her camp denied that he was meeting his legal obligations for child support. Pitt's attorneys also accused Jolie via court filing of trying to "manipulate media coverage" of their divorce.

Though their divorce was still in progress, Judge John W. Ouderkirk entered a judgment saying the couple was no longer married. Her name was also restored to Jolie, not Jolie Pitt.

Business Insider reported that the private judge hired by both stars awarded Pitt more custody of his children following months of witness testimony.
"Pitt has always been seeking the opportunity to have more time with his children and prioritized their well being while the other side did everything to try and stop that," a source familiar with the situation told BI in May 2021.

Pitt and Jolie purchased a controlling stake in Château Miraval and its vineyard behind the popular wine in 2008. The two were also married on the estate in 2014.
According to court documents, lawyers for Pitt say Jolie sold her stake in the Château to the Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without her ex-husband's knowledge.
"She sold her interest with the knowledge and intention that Shefler and his affiliates would seek to control the business to which Pitt had devoted himself and to undermine Pitt's investment in Miraval," the lawsuit claimed.
The lawsuit continued to state that Jolie's sale was intended to cause Pitt "gratuitous harm" after he had "poured money and sweat equity" into the business. Pitt's lawyers also said that the pair had previously agreed to never sell their respective financial interests in the Château without the other's consent.

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic/Getty
According to a leaked FBI report obtained by Rolling Stone and Puck, Jolie alleged in an interview with the FBI that Pitt "grabbed her by her head," shook her, "pushed her into the bathroom wall," and repeatedly punched the ceiling of the private plane during an "outburst" about 90 minutes into a flight from Paris to Los Angeles on September 14, 2016.
The report added that Jolie alleged Pitt was intoxicated during the flight, saying that he poured beer on her at one point. Jolie told the FBI that by the time the plane landed, there was $25,000 worth of damage from Pitt spilling red wine, Rolling Stone reported.
Rolling Stone reported that Jolie alleged her children were scared at the time of the incident. She told the FBI that one child called Pitt a "prick," prompting him to lunge at the kid, only to be stopped when Jolie grabbed him from behind "like in a choke hold."
As previously mentioned, BI reported in 2016 that the FBI cleared Pitt of child abuse allegations regarding that incident.

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty
Jolie and Pitt signed off on their divorce on December 30, 2024, People reported.
No details of the divorce settlement were revealed.
"More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family," Jolie's lawyer James Simon told BI in a statement. "This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."
Pitt's representative declined to comment when contacted by BI.
