Celebrity BFFs Who Ended Their Friendships: Lauren Conrad and Heidi, More

22 May 2025 at 17:12

Best friends aren’t always forever — just ask the celebrities who have said goodbye to their famous BFFs for one reason or another.

From Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato growing apart to Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag’s explosive feud on The Hills, not even the biggest stars can make their friendships last forever.

In November 2021, Big Short director Adam McKay revealed that his more than 20-year bond with Will Ferrell went sour in 2019 over a casting decision. “I f***ed up on how I handled that,” McKay admitted to Vanity Fair.

It’s safe to say these bonds can be broken — but they can also be repaired if both parties are willing to let bygones be bygones, which was the case for Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

Cattrall and Parker costarred on Sex and the City from 1998 to 2004 and later reprised their roles for two movie sequels in 2008 and 2010. During negotiations for a third SATC movie in 2010, Parker claimed Cattrall made requests from the studio that didn’t come through, so the cast decided not to move forward without her. That is when Parker and Cattrall’s rift allegedly began.
In 2017, Cattrall claimed during an interview with Piers Morgan that the two have “never been friends.” Cattrall alleged that Parker “could have been nicer,” during their time on set, claiming, “I don’t know what her problem is.”
The following year, Cattrall slammed Parker after the actress offered condolences to Cattrall after her brother died. “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend,” Cattrall fired back via social media in 2018. “So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
In response, Parker told Extra in October 2018, “She has felt perfectly comfortable to say lots of things. That’s the beauty of living in a democracy, but I have no apologies, meaning, this isn’t a catfight. This is someone who chose to talk about something, and myself, I remain grateful for her work and the role she played on and off camera for all the years we spent together.”
When Parker revived her SATC character, Carrie Bradshaw, for HBO Max’s And Just Like That sequel series in 2021, Cattrall did not sign on. She did, however, make a cameo during a 2023 episode.

Franco and Rogen met while starring on the 1999 series Freaks and Geeks. They went on to work together on several movies, including Pineapple Express, This Is the End, The Disaster Artist and The Interview.
Their decades-long friendship hit a snag in 2018 when Franco was accused of sexual misconduct by five women, four of whom were his acting students. Franco, who later confessed to sleeping with different students while teaching college courses, settled a sexual misconduct lawsuit with two of the former students in 2021.
After the legal drama simmered down, Rogen told The Sunday Times in 2021, “The truth is that I have not and I do not plan to [work with Franco] right now.” That December, Franco confirmed that their personal and professional relationship had stalled.
In October 2024, Franco gave an update on their dynamic, telling Variety, “I haven’t talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.”

Jenner and Woods were inseparable for years until news broke in February 2019 that Woods was spotted getting cozy with Tristan Thompson. It was later revealed that Woods kissed the NBA player. At the time, Thompson was dating Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian and they already shared one child. (Thompson now shares daughter True and son Tatum with Kardashian.)
Kardashian took Thompson back after the scandal, but they called it quits for good in June 2021. Jenner, meanwhile, chose to take a break from Woods following the incident.
“She was very conflicted initially, but after observing all the chaos across the board, she knew she had no choice to step away from the friendship,” a source exclusively told Us in February 2020 of Jenner’s decision.
After three years apart, Jenner reached out to Woods in July 2023 to reconnect. The following year, Jenner revealed during an episode of The Kardashians that she had “a lot more healthy distance in the relationship” with Woods, noting that they talk “once a month.”

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costars' friendship took a turn for the worst after getting into an argument over the PuppyGate scandal in 2018. After the fight, Vanderpump stopped talking to Richards and exited the Bravo series one year later.
In May 2022, the Halloween Kills star got candid about how much she "missed" her former friend while appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “On a scale from one to 10 … two to three,” Richards quipped.

Rumors of an alleged feud between the two actresses began in November 2022 after Gomez said that Taylor Swift was her only friend in the industry.
Raisa — who donated her kidney to the Only Murderers in the Building star in 2017 amid her battle with lupus — expressed her disappointment in being left out and commented "Interesting" on a post that included Gomez's quote and unfollowed her.
Gomez clapped back on a TikTok explaining the drama and said, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know."
In July 2023, the pair appeared to be back on track after Gomez wished Raisa a happy birthday via Instagram, calling her a “special human being.” Gomez added, “No matter where life takes us, I love you. ❤️ @franciaraisa."
Three months later, Raisa poked fun at her alleged feud with Gomez by creating sweatshirts that read, “No Beef, Just Salsa.” She later posted a photo with Gomez wearing the cheeky merchandise together.

The Bachelor Nation alums had a falling out after Bristowe took on a role as a mentor following Harrison's exit from the franchise in 2021.
“They offered me the position to come in, and what the Bachelor franchise said [I was there to do] was to mentor Katie,” the former Bachelorette explained during a January 2023 episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “[They said] I wouldn’t be replacing Chris. Then all these articles started coming out, saying, ‘Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe replacing Chris Harrison.’”
Bristowe said she reached out to the former host about the situation and never heard back. Harrison, for his part, explained his silence on a February 2023 episode of the “Most Dramatic Podcast Ever" with the Dancing With the Stars alum.
“I was the mentor — somewhat of a father figure — where I listened. And I asked questions, and I was all about you and your life, because that was my job and I care. And I took a lot of pride in that and that’s how our relationship started,” he said. “This time, I needed that flip of just the, ‘Hey, how are you? Are you OK?’ Not, ‘Are you OK with me taking the show and you’re irreplaceable.’ And I appreciated those words, but it was just at that time, I didn’t have the bandwidth to deal with all of that.”

The former producing partners, who had been friends since the ‘90s, called it quits on their professional and personal relationship in 2019.
In an interview with Vanity Fair two years later, McKay explained that he thought a casting decision is what hurt their friendship. He cast John C. Reilly in a series about the Lakers over Ferrell — and didn’t let the Stranger Than Fiction star know.
“I f***ed up on how I handled that,” McKay explained in 2021. "[Ferrell] took it as a way deeper hurt than I ever imagined and I tried to reach out to him, and I reminded him of some slights that were thrown my way that were never apologized for.”
He continued, “The whole time it was like I was saying it out loud, ‘Let’s not become an episode of Behind the Music. Don’t let it happen.’ And it happened.”

The heiress and the Freaky Friday star were inseparable until 2006, when Lohan started dating Hilton’s ex, Stavros Niarchos. The frenemies spent years taking shots at each other until June 2017 when it seemed as if the two had made amends.
However, later that year, Hilton threw a bit of shade Lohan’s way, accusing the Parent Trap actress of crashing her infamous 2006 night out with Britney Spears. She did it again in May 2019 after Andy Cohen asked her to list three nice things about Lohan on his talk show Watch What Happens Live. “She’s beyond, lame and embarrassing,” Hilton replied.
Soon after, Lohan fired back at the time through her spokesperson, who told Us Weekly, “Obviously, Paris needs to feel relevant and is desperate for attention.”
The two appeared to be on the road to reconciliation in December 2021, when Hilton congratulated Lohan on her then-recent engagement to Bader Shammas via her podcast.
In January 2022, Hilton confirmed that they were back in good graces. “I just feel that we’re grown-ups now,” Hilton said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I’m married [to Carter Reum], she just got engaged. We’re not, like, in high school. I think it was very immature and now everything is all good.”

Holm slammed his ex-friend in September 2017 after it was announced that the race car driver would be the season 22 Bachelor. "Oh, the stories I could tell …" he tweeted. "I stopped being friends with him years ago because he's disgusting."
The two appeared together on Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette in 2012. Maynard picked Holm, while Luyendyk Jr. was the runner-up. However, Maynard and Holm called it quits later that year.

Thiessen told Howard Stern in 2012 that when she first joined the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1994, “the girls were not very nice to me.” However, after Garth “actually apologized” for her behavior towards her, “Jennie and I became very good friends,” the White Collar actress revealed.
However, it wasn’t meant to last. Thiessen didn’t go into detail as to what led to their breakup, but she told Stern, “I was the one who was hurt, let’s just say that. I was the one who was hurt.”

What caused the former BFFs to split? "Ken is sick of her cycle of dumping friends when she's with a guy," a source told Us in 2010 of Simpson. "She doesn't care about the world, only herself. All she talks about is men, love, and sex."

Though they've been friends since 1999, a source close to both stars claimed the women had a major falling out in June 2010. "They don't speak," the insider told Us. "I can't tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive."
In April of that same year, the Goop founder hinted that she and the “Material Girl” singer weren’t as close as they once were. When talking to British Vogue about Madonna’s former trainer Tracy Anderson, Paltrow sniped, "Yeah, it's good that [Tracy] doesn't train Madonna anymore. It was too much. She keeps people waiting — it takes up your whole day.”

After being shut out of Charlotte Ronson's private Hollywood party at Chateau Marmont in 2009, Richie reportedly dissed Lohan by ignoring the actress as she walked by her. "Everyone's turned on me," Lohan later told Us.
Five years later, the Simple Life alum opened up about her brief friendship with the Mean Girls star on a 2014 episode of Watch What Happens Live, saying, “[I] haven’t spoken to her in a while,” choosing not to elaborate any further.

After Pratt's violent outbursts got him kicked off The Hills, Jenner opened up about his rift with his former castmate. "Lately, it's hard for me — even as someone who used to be best friends with him — to see what's real and what's not as far as he goes," Jenner explained.
Nine years later, the two came to blows during a 2019 episode of The Hills: New Beginnings.

Gosselin became fast friends with Lindsay Lohan's estranged dad in the Hamptons in July 2009. But their friendship was doomed after Michael began dating Gosselin's ex, reporter Kate Major, later that year. (The couple divorced in 2018 after four years of marriage.)
One year later, Michael accused the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum of cheating him out of money.
"Jon knows what the deal was. I kept him out of harm's way... and he stabbed me in the back," the amateur boxer told Access in 2010. "When you open your door to somebody and you give them a safe haven and a place to go and then they turn around and bite the hand that feeds or stab you in the back, that doesn't sit well with me."

Though Goreski claims his professional split with Zoe was amicable, a source close to the styling duo says otherwise. "Brad has gotten a little big in the head and Rachel is not happy," a source told Us. As for Zoe? "She's so focused on everything else that he was doing all of the work."
During a July 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Zoe admitted, “I don’t see him,” later adding, “People should be professional. They should.”

The once inseparable BFFs reportedly grew apart when Gomez befriended Swift. When Lovato was asked in January 2010 if they were still close to their Princess Protection Program costar, they shot back coldly: "Ask Taylor."
A decade later, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer told Harper’s Bazaar that they no longer keep in touch with the Only Murders in the Building actress.
"When you grow up with somebody, you're always going to have love for them. But I'm not friends with her,” Lovato said in April 2020. "I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best."

"All my cast members hate me," Spelling told Ryan Seacrest of her former Beverly Hills, 90210 pals. The problem? Spelling believes the actors — especially Thiessen — disapprove of how she met her husband, Dean McDermott. "She doesn't talk to me anymore," Spelling said.
While a source told Us Weekly in 2016 that the two had ended their 10-year feud, Spelling’s appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race one year later reignited the rumors that the two weren’t on the best of terms.
After a performer paid homage to Thiessen’s 90210 character, Valerie Malone, her former costar Jennie Garth refused to say the Saved by the Bell alum’s name. Spelling then chimed in, "Just say, 'That which we don't speak of.'

Mascara-tears galore! Conrad and Montag's friendship fell apart as the cameras rolled on the set of their smash reality series The Hills. The former roommates and BFFs memorably feuded over Montag's boyfriend-turned-husband Spencer Pratt, along with the infamous accusation from Conrad, that the couple had leaked a sex tape.
In August 2021, Montag accused her former costar of treating her like a “dog,” but also said she feels “so much love” for the designer.
“It didn’t have to go that way,” she said during an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast of their long-running feud. “She chose and wanted it to go that way, and then kept following up with that, and then kept blaming things on me and blaming her [rumored] sex tape on me.”

When Paltrow and Ryder dated Ben Affleck and Matt Damon respectively, the actresses were inseparable in the '90s — until Paltrow reportedly stumbled upon the script for Shakespeare in Love at Ryder's home. Adding salt to the wound, Paltrow won an Oscar for the role she allegedly stole from her BFF.

Justin Baldoni's 'Jane the Virgin' Costar Weighs In on Blake Lively Drama

22 May 2025 at 16:47

Jane the Virgin alum Brett Dier is weighing in on former costar Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal drama with Blake Lively.

“It’s a really intense situation,” Dier, 35, told Fan Mail in an interview published on Thursday, May 22, confessing, “I probably shouldn’t say much, but I’ll say this: I always loved Justin.”

Dier shared that Baldoni, 41, has “always been an amazing friend to me.” He noted, “I’m just hoping everything resolves in time.”

Baldoni and Dier have been friends since they costarred on The CW’s Jane the Virgin from 2014 to 2019. Dier played Gina Rodriguez’s first husband, Michael Cordero, while Baldoni played her character Jane Villanueva’s other romantic love interest, Rafael Solano.

Everything Justin Baldoni's Costars Have Said About Working With Him

Dier confirmed on Thursday that even though the show ended six years ago, he stays connected with a “good amount” of his former castmates from the series, which he recalled being a “wild ride.”

Although Dier didn’t identify Baldoni — or anyone specific from the cast — as someone he is close with, he previously supported the actor when his movie It Ends With Us hit theaters.

Dier and Yael Grobglas, who played Baldoni’s first wife on Jane the Virgin, went to the theaters together in August 2024 to see the film. “Our genius friend @justinbaldoni made a phenomenal film,” Grobglas, 40, wrote via Instagram at the time. “I cried an embarrassing amount and tried to hide it but probably failed.”

Justin Baldoni Alleges Blake Lively Pushed Cast to 'Shun' Him

She shared a photo with Dier inside the theater after the showing, adding, “I am so proud of you, and I love you friend !!!!”

While Baldoni — who was the director and one of the movie’s stars — received praise from his former castmates, the project has since been a source of contention. Baldoni has been embroiled in a messy legal battle with his It Ends With Us costar Lively, 37, since December 2024 when she filed a sexual harassment complaint against him.

Baldoni has denied all accusations made against him in Lively’s lawsuit, which included accusations of him creating a hostile work environment and causing her “severe emotional distress” while making the film.

Can Either Blake Lively or Justin Baldoni Win Amid Their Legal Battles?

Baldoni later filed his own $400 million lawsuit against the Gossip Girl actress, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane. He accused the trio of trying to “destroy” him, his team and their respective companies by “disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media.”

Lively and Reynolds, 48, have denied the allegations and filed to dismiss the motion completely.

“The entirety of Mr. Baldoni’s case appears to be based on Mr. Reynolds allegedly privately calling Mr. Baldoni a ‘predator,’ but here is the problem, that is not defamation unless they can show that Mr. Reynolds did not believe that statement to be true,” Reynolds’ attorneys Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson said in a statement shared with Us Weekly in March. “The complaint doesn’t allege that, and just the opposite, the allegations in the complaint suggest that Mr. Reynolds genuinely believes Mr. Baldoni is a predator.”

Justin Baldoni's Wife Loves 'The Man, Husband and Father' He Is Amid Drama

The statement continued, “Mr. Reynolds’ wife has accused Mr. Baldoni — privately and in multiple complaints — of sexual harassment and retaliation, and as pointed out by Mr. Reynolds’ motion, Mr. Baldoni has also openly spoken about his past of mistreating women and pushing the boundaries of consent. Mr. Reynolds has a First Amendment right to express his opinion of Mr. Baldoni, which should be comforting to a group of people who have repeatedly called Ms. Lively and Mr. Reynolds ‘bullies’ and other names over the past year.”

Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman told Us in a statement at the time that Reynolds was allegedly actively involved in the situation “far beyond just being a ‘supportive spouse.’”

Freedman claimed, “Mr. Reynolds was a key player in the scheme, defaming Justin around Hollywood, strong-arming WME into dropping Justin as a client, and trying to destroy Justin’s career however possible. His fingerprints have been all over this smear campaign against Justin and the Wayfarer team since day one.”

Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 9, 2026.

Sister Wives' Kody and Janelle's Quotes About Son Garrison's Death

22 May 2025 at 14:46

Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and Janelle Brown are no longer married but after the death of their son Garrison, they have been united in their grief.

“Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Kody wrote in a joint Instagram statement with Janelle in March 2024. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

The former couple’s statement came shortly after Us Weekly confirmed Garrison died by suicide at the age of 25. (Kody and Janelle, who split in 2022, share six children including Garrison.)

Since Garrison’s passing, Janelle has been vocal on social media about her ups and downs with grief. Kody, meanwhile, expressed his heartbreak on several episodes of Sister Wives, season 19 of which documented the family’s initial reactions and eventual burying of Garrison.

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org.

Coming Out of the Fog

“It’s been hard to get my brain to work properly again,” Janelle explained via Instagram in March 2024, sharing photos from Garrison’s celebration of life. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support I’ve received these last three weeks. The support has been overwhelming. I am honored.”

Heavenly Birthday

“Happy Birthday Sweetheart,” Janelle captioned an Instagram post in April 2024 on what would have been her son’s 26th birthday. “We are missing you terribly today. It’s hard to believe you aren’t here anymore.”

She shared, “We talked a lot about you today and even went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (your favorite place 😀) I still feel you nearby sometimes. And I’m grateful we will see each other again when my journey is completed.”

Mother’s Day Memories

Janelle revealed in May 2024 that she “felt the grief so close to the surface” while celebrating her first Mother’s Day without Garrison. “It was especially poignant when I made this simple pie,” she wrote via social media. “Our strawberry picking excursion combined with the fact that I randomly found rhubarb at the local farmers market made it feel like this pie was destined.”

Janelle continued: “Maybe no one loved it more than Garrison. And that made this pie a little bittersweet. I love you honey and miss you every day.”

Getting Through It

“Every day is a day,” Janelle exclusively told Us at the Us Weekly + Pluto TV Reality Stars of the Year Party at the Dream Hotel in October 2024. “You just take it one day at a time, one moment at a time.”

She explained, “I just think you do what you can to support mental health, especially men’s mental health. And we just continued to try to honor him and remember him.”

Sister Wives’ Kody Wanted More Time With Son Garrison, Recalls His Death

1 Year

Janelle mourned her son in March 2025 on the anniversary of his death, revealing via Instagram, “I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts. It’s been a year baby. We miss you so much. I miss you so much.”

Gone Too Soon

Sister Wives documented the family’s reaction to Garrison’s death during a May 2025 episode, including Kody’s response to the news. “Grief comes in waves. It just wasn’t supposed to be this way. You know what I’m saying?” Kody said during the May 4 episode. “It’s just heartbreaking.”

He confessed, “I didn’t get a chance to really just make things right, just not being able to say goodbye.”

After butting heads with Garrison prior to his death over his COVID-19 rules, Kody confessed, “It’s, like, I’ve got to do something different because I could have had more time with him, and I thought there would be more time. Everybody thinks they got more time.”

Kody broke down to wife Robyn Brown, asking, “How am I going to do this? How do I do the rest of my life with every holiday and every birthday?”

Last Conversation

During the same May 2025 Sister Wives episode, Janelle recalled the hours before Garrison died. She remembered texting and talking with him throughout the day and when he stopped around 8 p.m., Janelle asked his brothers to check in on him and then she went to bed.

She woke up to a call from her son Gabriel Brown telling her that Garrison was dead. “I don’t know what happened that night he did that because he’s had other nights like this where he would drink and then pass out and he would go kind of radio silent, but he’d be back in the morning,” Janelle explained. “I don’t know what happened this time.”

Janelle later told her sister Carrie that Garrison had “anxiety and depression and then he started drinking as a way to sort of soothe that” during the coronavirus pandemic. “And then just became the animal he couldn’t get a hold of. We did everything we could. And I know that,” she concluded.

Brotherly Love

Janelle recalled during a May 2025 episode of Sister Wives that Garrison was “very much involved with the young kids.” She fondly remembered him being “very mindful” of Kody and Christine Brown’s youngest daughter, Truely.

“Robyn would comment that he would come over every day to see Sol and Ari,” Janelle explained in the May 11 episode, referring to Kody and his fourth wife’s two children, Solomon and Ariella. Janelle gushed, “He was always very much about his younger siblings.”

‘Sister Wives’ Star Janelle Brown’s Son Garrison Laid to Rest at Funeral

Overcome By Anxiety

During the same May 2025 TLC episode, Kody detailed his desire to take Garrison’s ashes and bury them in his ancestral state of Wyoming as a sort of “pilgrimage.”

“Sometimes out of the blue, out of the blue, it’ll overcome me. Almost, like, some kind of anxiety attack,” Kody said of the process. “Just a deep, overwhelming feeling that I’ll never see him again. There’s so much left unsaid, so much left undone.”

He noted that in order to mourn, he planned to bury Garrison “next to his grandma and his grandpa and, you know, just kind of … finish the circle.” Kody teared up, saying, “I was the first one that held him. This is my son. I rocked him to sleep. This is part of my mourning process.”

Digging the Grave

“I talked to the sexton of the cemetery and he’s the one that would normally dig the graves,” Kody explained in a separate May 2025 episode of Sister Wives. “And I just asked him permission if I could dig it. It means something to me. I don’t know why.”

Kody proceeded to dig Garrison’s grave in an “old west country cemetery” in Wyoming, calling it, “One of the most important things I’ve ever done.” He revealed, “It’s the last ode to my boy. … This is my duty, my job.”

‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 13 Questions Answered: Why Did Voight Kill [Spoiler]?

21 May 2025 at 20:01

Chicago P.D.’s season 12 finale brought Sergeant Hank Voight and his team to their breaking point — but did they win in the end?

Warning: Spoilers below from season 12, episode 22 of Chicago P.D.

During the Wednesday, May 21, finale, Voight (Jason Beghe) faced off against Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy) one last time. After Reid disbanded the Intelligence Unit one episode prior and put Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) behind bars for sleeping with his CI, Voight’s unit was up against a wall.

While Voight had ASA Nina Chapman (Sara Bues) and the rest of his team in his corner, he started to pull away to take Reid down. As Voight prepared to face internal affairs for his alleged misconduct over the past few months, Reid was shot dead by drug dealer Jesus Otero’s (Juan Javier Cardenas) son, Reinerio (Jason Sanchez).

While Voight tried to stop the bleeding, Reid hinted that it was Voight who orchestrated his death to end their feud. “You’re worse than me,” Reid claimed before he died, leaving Voight and his team safe from his wrath.

'Chicago P.D.' Showrunner Teases What to Expect When Season 12 Returns

The future of Intelligence, however, is still unknown considering Reinerio killing Reid came shortly after he was let out of the team’s custody on Voight’s orders. (On a happy note, Marina Squerciati’s Kim Burgess and Patrick John Flueger’s Adam Ruzek did get married before the credits rolled.)

“We didn’t get to see them actually walk back into the unit. It wasn’t just easy clean, we’re done, bow tied and they figured it all out,” showrunner Gwen Sigan exclusively told Us Weekly, teasing that season 13 will bring a “different dynamic” for the unit.

Scroll down for answers to the biggest questions ahead of season 13:

Why Did Reid Have to Die?

Chicago PD Season 13 Questions Reid
Elizabeth Sisson/NBC

Sigan told Us that Reid didn’t have to die, but the writers wanted Voight to have one way to “get him off the map” which was to “take him out.”

“That was the darkest we could take him, was to basically kill someone. We wanted to test him too,” she explained. “We wanted to see, ‘Can he fight against that?’ And then obviously what you see in the finale is no, he couldn’t, he took that route.”

The showrunner noted that Voight thinks he made the “right choice” in telling Reinerio how Reid made his dad suffer before killing him earlier in the season, knowing that Reinerio would most likely seek vengeance.

Is Chapman Going to Cut Ties With Voight?

Chicago PD Season 13 Questions Chapman Voight
Lori Allen/NBC

Throughout the season Chapman and Voight grew close and fans saw a glimpse at a new romance between the pair. However, during the finale, Chapman told Voight that she knew what he’d done. She knew that he used Reinerio as his own loaded gun to take down Reid and he made a deal with Silva (Randy Gonzalez) to flip on Reid and talk about his dirty policing tactics.

Chapman teared up at Burgess and Ruzek’s wedding, telling Voight that she thought there was “more” between them but now that trust is broken. Sigan, meanwhile, told Us that the attorney isn’t going to turn her back on Voight despite her own heartbreak.

“I don’t think Chapman’s gone. I think that their relationship has just changed a lot,” Sigan said. “It’ll also be interesting to see sort of the mess of that, of her still being there working. She’s not leaving Chicago, so what does that look like?”

Shawn Hatosy Teases Reid and Voight’s ‘Chicago P.D.’ Battle Will ‘Blow Up’

Will the Team Question Voight’s Story?

Chicago PD Season 13 Questions Torres and Cook
Lori Allen/NBC

After Reid’s death, Voight told his team that Reinerio confessed to shooting the deputy chief out of revenge for his father’s killing. Voight noted that Silva had knowledge of Reid’s illegal tactics, and he would testify to that, clearing Intelligence’s name. Burgess and Ruzek appeared to be suspicious of how neatly the case was tied up but didn’t question it in the moment.

“There was so much unease in that scene. There was a lot of doubt in a lot of their minds,” Sigan shared. “[But] do they wanna look into it? There’s not gonna be evidence [to contradict Voight’s story].”

The showrunner teased, “You could see that Burgess was feeling something isn’t quite right here. So it’s definitely an open-ended kind of thread that we can pull if we want to next season.”

Once Reid was gone, Burgess and Ruzek decided to move forward with their wedding. Their teammates were all in attendance, including Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Kiana Cook (Toya Turner) and their daughter. Luckily for fans, the brief happy moment won’t be a one-off.

Sigan revealed that season 13 will show more of the “wholesome” relationship between Burgess and Ruzek and their new normal. “Now that they have some sort of stability at home, what does it look like on the job?” she pondered. “What can we push them into and sort of, find stories there.” Sigan added that she’s “excited” for the married couple’s story lines, saying there’s “a lot to play” with for the pair.

Summer House's Paige Says Craig's ‘Dead’ to Her After Cheating Rumors Drama

21 May 2025 at 19:02

Paige DeSorbo broke down her split from Craig Conover during the season 9 Summer House finale, revealing that her feelings toward him changed after he allegedly refused to publicly clear her name.

“I made the right decision,” Paige, 32, told pals Amanda Batula and Lindsay Hubbard on the Wednesday, May 21, finale, referring to her choice to break up with Craig, 36, after Thanksgiving in November 2024.

Paige told the girls that after rumors surfaced in January that she cheated on Craig before their split, he didn’t have her back. She claimed that instead of shutting down the rumors, Craig told her, “I don’t feel comfortable saying anything at this time.”

That alleged response changed everything for Paige. “After that I was like, ‘And, now you’re dead to me,’” she confessed.

Craig Conover Addresses 'Summer House' Cast's 'Vitriol' About Paige Split

Three months after the Bravo cameras stopped rolling in summer 2024, Paige announced that she and Craig called it quits after three years together. In January, the cameras picked back up and documented her side of the story.

“What made me feel like I made the right decision was two days later, my dad called me and said I just want to let you know, ‘I feel like your personality is back,’” Paige recounted on the finale. “[He said], ‘I didn’t realize how different you kinda were. Now I call you and you’re so happy. I just feel like I got my daughter back a little.’”

Amanda, 33, confessed that she felt that there was “something different” about Paige over the summer but she didn’t want to push it. “I could really sense something was up. … You were different,” Amanda said.

Paige completely agreed, noting she didn’t realize “how different” she was until she was on her “Giggly Squad” podcast tour the past fall and she had a “panic attack.”

Paige explained that once November 2024 rolled around, she and Craig spent Thanksgiving together and she later had a lightbulb moment about their future. “He’s like, ‘Do you ever fantasize about us hosting holidays with our kids?’” Paige recalled, noting that she initially said yes but later realized that wasn’t true.

Amanda Batula Thinks Craig Is Being a Bit 'Ridiculous' About Paige Breakup

She remembered saying, “I don’t think I do” and pointing out it wasn’t “fair” to Craig that she felt that way. Paige said she told Craig at the time, “You deserve to have the love of your life, and I feel like I do too. I can’t pretend that we don’t have these issues.”

After the conversation, Craig told Paige he’d be in New York in December and asked to speak in person, to which she agreed.

“He says to me, ‘I really wish you didn’t do this before you saw the ring,’” Paige claimed Craig said when he was in town, but she didn’t believe him. “Right when he says that to me in my head, I was like, ‘This is why we’re breaking up because I don’t know if you’re lying right now.’”

While Craig alleged that he’d had the ring for “a year,” Paige told the girls she wasn’t buying it. “It doesn’t exist, Lindsay. We’ll never see it,” she quipped. (Craig claimed on the season 10 Southern Charm finale and reunion that he did buy a ring and planned to propose before Paige broke things off.)

'Breadwinner' Paige DeSorbo Says She Felt 'Gaslit' by Craig Before Split

Looking back, Paige said she thought she was “very respectful” with her breakup announcement. However, when rumors started to surface that Paige cheated on Craig and he didn’t shut them down, she realized how one-sided their dynamic was.

“As a girlfriend I defended the f*** out of you in public,” Paige said of her ride-or-die style support for Craig. “I have fought people for you. I have lied through my f***ing teeth for you.”

Despite being upset with the ending, Paige said she’s learned you “have to come to terms” with the fact that life is “not what you imagined” and that doesn’t mean it’s “better or worse.” She concluded, “I think [our lives are] actually way better.”

Summer House season 9 reunion begins on Bravo Wednesday, May 28, at 9 p.m. ET.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 14 Questions Answered: Will Carver and Violet Last?

21 May 2025 at 19:01

Chief Dom Pascal found himself under investigation for attempted murder during the Chicago Fire season 13 finale, but the episode wasn’t all doom and gloom — and Us has questions about what’s next.

Warning: Spoilers below from season 13, episode 22 of Chicago Fire.

During the Wednesday, May 21, finale, Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) was accused of trying to kill the man who crashed into his wife Monica’s (KaDee Strickland) car and caused her death. While the Office of Fire Investigation (OFI) thinks he’s guilty, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) is on a mission to clear his name.

“He’s all in with Pascal,” showrunner Andrea Newman exclusively told Us Weekly of Severide’s finale journey, which ultimately results in him finding the real culprit: firefighter Stephen Vale (Phil Donlon). Vale pined over Pascal’s wife for years, so he tried to kill the man responsible for her death.

While the OFI case is front and center during the finale, not every story line was wrapped up neatly, including Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Sam Carver’s (Jake Lockett) romance.

'Chicago Fire' Boss Teases If Violet and Carver's Bond Will Turn Romantic

Violet finally gave Carver the letter she wrote him while he was in rehab and professed her love for him. While Carver revealed he already put in for a job in Denver, he ended the season by passionately kissing Violet outside her apartment.

Severide and wife Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) also got a happy ending to the season after Stella learned she is pregnant with their first baby. What’s next for the couple, however, is unknown. “There will be some shakeups all around,” Newman revealed.

Keep scrolling for answers to the biggest questions ahead of season 14:

What Does Violet and Carver’s Kiss Mean?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Questions Carver and Violet
Peter Gordon/NBC

During the final minutes of the episode, Carver showed up and kissed Violet. He finally confessed, “I love you, Violet,” and she responded, “I love you, too.” The moment was “a beautiful thing” for both of them, according to Newman, but it might be short-lived.

The showrunner told Us that Carver is “on a razor’s edge in terms of healing” after his ups and downs with alcohol. His state of mind and Carver and Violet’s sometimes “painful” dynamic has left their relationship status open-ended.

“Do they get this moment and then that’s all? Or do they get to explore past that and kind of see where it goes?” Newman teased, confirming “that’s the question hanging in the air” ahead of next season.

Are Violet and Carver the Next Brett and Casey?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Questions Carver
George Burns Jr/NBC

Prior to the finale, Lockett confirmed that he won’t be a series regular for season 14, which could influence Carver and Violet’s future. While Carver might be moving to Denver, he and Violet wouldn’t be the first Firehouse 51 couple to be long-distance. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Sylvie Brett (Kara Kilmer) lived apart when Casey had to move to Oregon to help raise the kids of his late firefighter friend, but the pair ultimately got married during season 12.

According to Newman, Casey and Brett’s romance is not like Carver and Violet. “Anything’s possible,” she told Us when asked if they could replicate the long-distance relationship. “But I think this was more of an explosion than a slow build.”

One Chicago’s Most Memorable Couples

The TV writer explained that there are “different things at stake” with Carver and Violet, especially since he hinted at leaving Chicago pre-kiss to better focus on his sobriety.

“For Carver, it’s a life thing. It’s like, can he stay alive? Can he keep sober and clean and not crash and burn?” Newman said, not ruling out Carver potentially making cameos next season. “So the stakes are a little bit higher in terms of that relationship going forward.”

When Will Stella Announce Her Pregnancy?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Questions Stella and Severide
George Burns Jr/NBC

After attempting to adopt a baby during season 13, Stella and Severide were left brokenhearted when the mom changed her mind. During the finale, Stella turned her focus to helping a teenager named Natalie (Ava Torres) in the neighborhood in the neighborhood, eventually reconnecting the teen with her big sister. Stella later got her own good news: she’s pregnant!

Newman told Us that Stella’s pregnancy timeline for season 14 will depend on “the kind of time jump we do when we start.” She joked, “It will be hard to be hiding it if it’s, you know, the kind of four-month jump we usually do.”

The showrunner noted that the writers want to get the firefighters’ “reactions” to the pregnancy sooner rather than later. “There’s a closet full of baby gear in the firehouse right now,” Newman said, referring to the baby gifts that were bought before Stella and Severide’s adoption fell through.

Chicago Fire’s Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd’s Relationship Timeline

Although Stella might keep the pregnancy under wraps for a little bit next season, Newman said her and Severide’s journey will be all about “how they balance” being parents and firefighters.

“We keep saying you think the stakes are high when you’re in the firehouse with your significant other … [what] about the fact you have a baby at home and you know, this baby will be an orphan if anything goes down here,” Newman stressed. “It just turns up the heat and the stakes on their relationship in a really interesting way, both from a work standpoint and just a love standpoint.”

How Will Mouch and Hermann Navigate Their New Roles?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Questions Mouch and Hermann
Elizabeth Sisson/NBC

Christopher Hermann (David Eigenberg) chose not to take the chief’s exam during the finale, despite planning to take over the spot someday at Firehouse 51. Instead, Hermann took a pay cut and a demotion so his best friend Randall “Mouch” McHolland (Christian Stolte) could be the new lieutenant on Engine 51.

According to Newman, the determining factor for Hermann was “the looming fear of this auditor who said, ‘You guys don’t have much longer [to work].’” She noted that Mouch will have to navigate being a leader with a “ticking clock behind him” next season.

At the same time, Newman said that Hermann’s pay cut will be fun to watch play out since he will be “scrambling with new ideas and plans to make extra cash.” She joked, “He could be selling hot dogs out front of 51. We don’t know anything could happen.”

Will Ritter’s Exit Be Shown?

Chicago Fire Season 14 Questions Ritter
Peter Gordon/NBC

In March, news broke that Daniel Kyri, who plays Darren Ritter, would not be returning to Chicago Fire as a series regular. However, his exit was not shown during the season finale, so could he be back?

“Everything’s kind of up in the air on that front,” Newman told Us. “We love Ritter and we’d love to play with him, see him again.” She hinted that his goodbye could be a “big explosion or a fun, twisty story.”

‘Chicago Med’ Season 11 Questions Answered: Are Hannah and Ripley Endgame?

21 May 2025 at 18:01

Chicago Med’s season 10 finale left Dr. Hannah Asher uneasy about her pregnancy and unsure what to do regarding Dr. Mitch Ripley — and it had Us questioning what’s to come next season.

Warning: Spoilers below from season 10, episode 22 of Chicago Med.

During the Wednesday, May 21, episode, Hannah (Jessy Schram) told her sister, Lizzy (Erin Anderson), that she was pregnant, and her reaction was unexpected. Lizzy lashed out at Hannah claiming she once again ruined her life because now Hannah can’t be her surrogate.

The icy reaction made Hannah hesitate in telling Ripley (Luke Mitchell) about her pregnancy and the fact that he’s going to be a father. As the episode ended, Hannah walked up to a door that fans thought might be Ripley’s to tell him the news, but it was in fact Dr. Dean Archer’s (Steven Weber).

One Chicago’s Most Memorable Couples

Showrunner Allen MacDonald exclusively told Us Weekly that Hannah’s pregnancy and relationship with Ripley is an “unfortunate wait and see” situation saved for next season. Ripley, meanwhile, opened his door during the finale to find Sadie (Holly Curran), the woman whose life he saved from a well earlier that season, hinting that they could get together.

Elsewhere in the episode, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) broke up with her boyfriend Dr. Dennis Washington (John Earl Jelks), while Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) made amends with his daughters. Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos), for her part, got troubling news that could affect her life and career moving forward.

Scroll down for all the answers we have about Chicago Med ahead of season 11:

Why Does Hannah Go to Archer and Not Ripley?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Archer
George Burns Jr/NBC

MacDonald teased that Hannah’s choice to talk to Archer before Ripley is a “very complicated story” that fans will have to watch “play out” next season. He noted that Hannah “deeply trusts Archer and that is where she goes when she’s feeling destabilized.”

What’s Going on With Hannah and Ripley?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Hannah and Ripley
George Burns Jr/NBC

“Ripley is actually in a very good place. I don’t think [he] is any longer in a place where he feels adrift,” MacDonald explained, confessing, “The best thing that ever happened to him was Hannah breaking up with him. It really made him confront some very, very negative behaviors that he didn’t intend to be negative, but they were self-destructive.”

MacDonald joked that both he and Schram have spoken about Ripley being “the worst boyfriend” to Hannah in the past. “He’s a great guy, but he was a terrible boyfriend,” he recalled, hinting that those lingering frustrations might still be lingering.

Will Sadie and Ripley Start Their Own Romance?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Ripley
Elizabeth Sisson/NBC

During season 10, episode 15, Ripley nearly died trying to save Sadie and her daughter after they fell into a hole on the side of the road. When Ripley was pulled out of danger himself, Hannah was there and told him she “loved” him.

Despite that confession, Ripley and Hannah went their separate ways later in the season. Ripley’s connection to Sadie, however, appears to be intact. “They had a real connection and that connection kind of played out with humor in a very dangerous life and death situation,” MacDonald said of the pair. “They really made an impression on each other.”

Jessy Schram: ‘Chicago Med’ Pawel Drama Causes ‘Rift’ for Hannah and Ripley

The showrunner added that Ripley “thought about reaching out” to her after the traumatic event but didn’t want to be “presumptuous.” Now, MacDonald teased Sadie has “beat him to the punch,” but that doesn’t mean they’ll start dating.

“I don’t know where it’s gonna go beyond like, you know, them having a conversation, but I would say there’s some unfinished business between them,” he shared.

How Will Lenox Process Her Diagnosis?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Lenox
James Washington/NBC

During the finale, Lenox agreed to get tested for a rare neurodegenerative disorder called Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker (GSS) disease alongside her brother, Kip (Logan Miller), to help sort out what landed him in the hospital. After their mother died from the disease, they promised not to get tested but MacDonald told Us that wasn’t because they were “ignoring” the issue.

Instead, they both knew if they had the disease, it would cut their lives short and therefore made choices on how to live. Kip decided to “float around and just see what happens” with no “responsibility,” while his sister threw herself into work to “leave a mark and a legacy.”

When they did get tested, Kip was negative and Lenox said she was too, putting her results in her pocket. Lenox later broke down crying as viewers learned that she tested positive but lied. MacDonald said the diagnosis will lead Kip and Lenox to “reassess” their lifestyle choices next season.

Is Naomi Gone For Good?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Naomi
George Burns Jr/NBC

Naomi Howard (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) was last seen packing up her locker after leaking a story about Dr. Nicholas Hayes’ (Brendan Hines) sexual misconduct to the media. She told Lenox at the time that she needed a fresh start, but that doesn’t mean she’s leaving Chicago.

“We love Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, and we love the character Naomi, and we very intentionally kind of expanded her role as the season progressed,” MacDonald said, hinting, “It would be a shame to not see her again after all that.”

Are More Nurse-Focused Episodes on the Horizon?

Chicago Med Season 11 Questions Maggie
George Burns Jr/NBC

“We’re definitely going to give Maggie [Lockwood] some wonderful stuff next year,” MacDonald shared, referring to Marlyne Barrett’s character. “We’re gonna see all those nurses.”

He added that the plan was to give the nurses “more screen time” during season 10, which they hope to “continue” moving forward.

In fact, it was love at first sight for Simpson, who recalled her chance May 2010 meeting with Johnson in an Instagram post in May 2020, writing, “He knocked on my dreamy cottage door (sigh), I let him in and never let him leave.” She noted that she “fell head over slippers in love” on that day.

Johnson proposed to Simpson in November 2010 after six months of dating, but it wasn’t until four years later that the pair walked down the aisle.

In January 2025, the spouses confirmed their split by announcing their separation after 10 years of marriage.

Eric shared a sweet tribute to Jessica to mark their seventh wedding anniversary.

“ERIC, 42yrs ago today you were born and without a doubt I know that God created and shaped you to be my purest love, truest companion, my forever person, my ALL in everything, my every day and night answered prayer before I even knew the words to speak,” Simpson wrote via Instagram in honor of her husband’s birthday. “The gift of life began with your first breath to bring forth my purpose to be brought into this life. I truly was born to love you. As a child I talked to God asking for you and you found me when my heart least expected eternal intimacy.”
The musician continued: “I am graced to be living within your soul and you within mine until the end of time. I am HAPPY it is your BIRTHDAY ... the blessed day this world received the gift of you is the greatest day of the year for so many, but especially for your fortunate wife and our beautifully perfect children. I love you. Maxwell loves you. Ace loves you. Birdie loves you.”

The shoe designer enjoyed a "romantic, sexy and well deserved" getaway in Mexico with her "forever lover" and posed beachside in a black, Jessica Simpson-brand one piece and strappy black heels.

Ashlee Simpson shut down rumors that her sister and Johnson were headed for a divorce. While walking in Beverly Hills with her husband, Evan Ross, Ashlee was asked by TMZ to address rumors that Jessica and Johnson had split. Ashlee initially dodged the question and continued walking before eventually replying. When she was directly asked again as to whether or not the rumors were “true,” Ashlee replied, “No.”

Simpson announced on January 13 that she and Johnson had called it quits after 10 years of marriage.
"Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage," Simpson told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. "Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
A source exclusively told Us that the pair had “done counseling before, but it didn’t get them anywhere, and Jessica wasn’t interested in doing it again.” The insider noted that after facing “ups and downs,” the exes decided they “want different things.”

One month after confirming their split, Simpson shared that she and Johnson were on good terms. “I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around, but I’m one of the lucky ones,” she told People of life post-breakup. “At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He’s still very much a part of my life and will always be.”
She later revealed that her ex had been supportive of her new music in an interview with The Cut. “It is a gift. Eric supported that gift. My kids supported that gift,” she told the outlet. Simpson released her Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1 EP — her first new music in 15 years — the following month.

‘Summer House’ Reunion Trailer Hints at Issues With Lindsay and Turner

21 May 2025 at 10:10

The two-part Summer House reunion is just around the corner, and it appears there’s trouble in paradise for Lindsay Hubbard and boyfriend Turner Kufe.

Lindsay, 38, hints at a possible split from Turner in the Wednesday, May 21, first look at the season 9 reunion. When host Andy Cohen asks Lindsay, “How is Turner?” she gets visibly uncomfortable, replying, “Um.”

The camera then pans to Lindsay’s housemates, including Amanda Batula who makes a surprised face and Lindsay’s ex-fiancé Carl Radke, who also looks concerned.

While the rest of Lindsay’s conversation with Andy, 56, isn’t shared in the video, the host can be overheard asking, “Really?” once again hinting at a relationship issue between the pair.

During season 9 of Summer House, Lindsay documented her pregnancy after rekindling her romance with Turner in early 2024. The pair welcomed their daughter, Gemma, in December 2024.

Lindsay, however, revealed during a super tease for the show earlier this month that she and Turner are very different people. “If I didn’t get pregnant, I don’t know if we would’ve stayed together,” she confessed during the May 14 teaser video.

Lindsay Hubbard Reveals Who Got the Most Attention at ‘Summer House’ Reunion

Lindsay isn’t the only one seemingly having romance problems during the upcoming reunion. Amanda, 33, and husband Kyle Cooke appear to get into an argument over their future and expanding their family while on the slumber-party themed set.

“There will be no future if all he does is work,” Amanda tells Andy in the preview, claiming, “Kyle’s not ready to have kids.”

After Kyle, 42, questions whether Amanda is ready herself after voicing concerns on the topic earlier this season, she claps back at her spouse. “I’m ready to have kids with somebody who’s ready to have kids with me,” Amanda quips.

When the reunion airs — on Wednesday, May 28, and Wednesday, June 4 — fans will also get a glimpse at the fallout from Lexi Wood and Jesse Solomon’s tumultuous summer fling. Plus, Paige DeSorbo will go into further detail about her and Craig Conover’s fall 2024 split.

According to the preview, no topic is off limits as Andy asks Lexi, 27, whether she thinks Jesse “had sex” with someone else during their time together. It’s unclear who Andy is inquiring about, but Jesse confesses, “I do think I crossed the line a little.”

The 'Summer House' Cast Has Made Some Interesting Comments About Season 10

Jesse, however, is adamant in the teaser that he didn’t “pits girls against each other” during the summer like Lexi says he did. (Lexi and Jesse had a whirlwind romance during summer 2024 that ended with her claiming he “gaslit” her and that he alienated her from having female friendships in the house.)

Ciara Miller sounds off on the drama as well during the reunion after Lexi claimed that Ciara, 29, and Jesse were “flirty” when he was dating her. “You dragging me into it in your press was a low blow,” Ciara tells Lexi. “What the f*** was that?”

Summer House season 9 reunion begins on Bravo Wednesday, May 28, at 9 p.m. ET. Part two will air on the network Wednesday, June 4, at the same time.

‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Recap: Brian Haunted By Puppet, Masha Kisses Guest

21 May 2025 at 09:01

Murray Bartlett’s Brian becomes the first guest to experience a psychedelic trip during season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers — and what a strange trip it is.

Warning: Spoilers below from Nine Perfect Strangers season 2, episode 2.

During the Wednesday, May 21, episode, Brian receives two mysterious chocolates in his room with a message that simply reads, “Have courage.” Shortly after eating one treat, which is dosed with mushrooms or another psychedelic drug, wellness guru Masha (Nicole Kidman) shows up at his door.

Masha brings Brian his missing suitcase, which she purposely hid, and reveals its contents: a bear puppet named Jesse. Masha confesses that both she and her late daughter were fans of Brian’s TV show, Crabapple Clubhouse, but not everyone at the Austrian Alps retreat feels the same.

During the group’s first foraging trip, Brian is appointed as the leader, which irks Imogen (Annie Murphy) for an unknown reason. Brian, however, takes the lead and while out in the woods his puppet pops up like a mirage.

“Everyone deserves a best friend. And maybe your best friend is you,” Brian screams while wandering the woods as the puppet peeks out from behind a tree. “Afterall, there’s only one you and isn’t that wonderful.”

While the group of eight strangers wait for the ninth guest to arrive — David (Mark Strong) didn’t show up on day one — they are tasked with making a meal from everything they foraged.

Brian, who has now eaten two chocolates, gets into a fight with Imogen, who blames him for ruining a childhood memory when his show got cancelled. “She’s making fun of you, she thinks you’re ruining everything. Let’s get her!” his puppet taunts as Brian’s hallucinations continue.

Brian then confesses that his show got cancelled after he screamed at a cameraman on set. When Imogen claims he was “abusive” and “ruined” her childhood with his cancellation, he goes off.

“I failed and people like you are the proof. I f***ing failed because all I tried to do was teach people to have a little tolerance, a little compassion for people when they weren’t perfect,” Brian says. “But somehow, we wound up with a generation of whiny, judgmental, sanctimonious little tattletales.”

Who Are Meghan Markle's Guests in Her Netflix Show?

After he storms off, Tina (King Princess) follows and shares her own connection to the series. She explains that during her piano prodigy days, Tina was a guest on Crabapple Clubhouse and Brian and the puppet were the only ones who truly listened to her hopes and dreams.

Imogen, for her part, tells Peter (Henry Golding) that she was obsessed with the kids’ show after her dad died and felt lost when it ended. (Imogen and Peter sleep together on night one and have since become close despite their inner demons.)

Elsewhere during the episode, Imogen’s mom, Victoria (Christine Baranski), rummages through papers that reveal she has several unpaid bills. Her files also show that she is working on “end of life” planning, which Imogen seemingly knows nothing about.

During the final few moments of the episode, Masha finally meets up with David upon his arrival at Zauberwald. After hinting that the pair have a deeper connection, Masha has a passionate kiss with him.

“Nice to see you again,” Masha teases as she and David continue to make out. “Nice. Well, from now on, arms’ length only.”

‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Season 2 Premiere: Meet Masha's 9 New Retreaters

21 May 2025 at 00:00

Wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko is up to her same mysterious ways during the Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 premiere — but this time, she’s in a colder climate and her guests appear to be more connected to one another.

During the Wednesday, May 21, episode, Masha (Nicole Kidman) reveals that she is under investigation by the federal government for her controversial drug practices after being arrested during the season 1 finale for giving her California retreat guests’ psychedelic drugs initially without their consent.

Despite the stress, Masha is continuing to make strides in the use of psychedelics to see dead loved ones and process trauma — plus, she’s still seeing visions of her late daughter and keeping it a secret.

To recalibrate, Masha agrees to go to Zauberwald and team up with Helena (Lena Olin), who was vital in her own health journey a decade prior. While at the Austrian Alps retreat, Masha plans to guide nine new strangers on their own wellness journey using mushrooms and other experimental treatments.

David, Peter’s father, is spoken about but not seen for most of the premiere as he’s MIA. When Masha meets the guests on night one, she reveals that they can’t start the “protocol” until everyone is there, noting that David’s presence is necessary to proceed.

At the end of the episode, viewers learn that David is a billionaire who Masha knows from the past. Helena admits she is worried about what his arrival will do to Masha and the group, but Masha claims she’ll “remain in the present.” David, meanwhile, is in Munich working on a business deal which has delayed his arrival.

‘FBI: International’ Series Finale Explained: Who Was MIA? How Did It End?

20 May 2025 at 23:55

The FBI: International series finale took Fly Team leader Wes Mitchell far from Budapest — but not everyone on his team helped him from overseas.

Warning: Spoilers below from season 4, episode 22 of FBI: International.

During the Tuesday, May 20, finale, Wes (Jesse Lee Soffer) traveled to Tokyo to track down the second serial killer suspected of kidnapping at least six Americans. (The Fly Team in Budapest previously apprehended a Japanese assailant guilty of killing an American working as a prostitute but before they could find his partner, the criminal killed himself.)

Keeping in line with Japanese rules, Wes flew solo to Tokyo to solve the case. He teamed up with local detective Reiko Isokawa (Yoriko Haraguchi) to try and navigate the nuances of the country while saving the latest victim, an American named Hannah (Ferin Bergen), who was abducted during a cab ride following her shift as a hostess in Japan’s capital.

After his team back home did a deep dive into the first assailant’s search history, they found the mastermind behind the international killing spree: Lloyd Acuff (Tom Ashton).

When Wes and Reiko confronted Lloyd about his suspected crimes, he played coy about his whereabouts when Hannah was abducted. Wes decided to break a few rules — which got Reiko suspended — and had to go it alone to get his man.

Ultimately, Wes made a deal with Lloyd, who was later accused of killing more than 50 women, promising to let him die by cyanide in exchange for Hannah’s location. Once Hannah was safe, Wes gave Lloyd his “button” as promised but he took the cyanide out, leaving Lloyd to face the consequences of his actions.

While Wes solved the case and saved Hannah, the finale left a lot of questions unanswered. Unfortunately, since FBI: International was canceled in March, fans may never get the closure they want. (FBI: Most Wanted was also canceled.)

‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Series Finale Explained: Who Retired? Who Is Pregnant?

“Of course I’m sad the show must come to an end, but I want to thank Wolf Entertainment and CBS for everything: in particular the incredible tour of Europe!” FBI: International star Eva-Jane Willis exclusively told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “We have memories to last us a lifetime!”

Raines (Carter Redwood) has been part of the team since day one. ‘Cheers’ Cast Pays Tribute to George Wendt After He Died on Show Anniversary

20 May 2025 at 22:35

The cast of Cheers is paying tribute to costar George Wendt after the actor died on the same day as the anniversary of the show’s finale.

Wendt’s family confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, May 20, that the actor died peacefully in his sleep while at home. He was 76. “George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him,” a rep for the family said. “He will be missed forever.”

Wendt’s death also corresponds with the 32nd anniversary of Cheers’ series finale airing on NBC. During the show’s 11-season run, Wendt was nominated for six Emmys and became a fan favorite as the lovable, beer-drinking every man named Norm, who frequented the Boston bar daily.

Wendt starred alongside Ted Danson, John Ratzenberger, Rhea Perlman, Kelsey Grammer, Woody Harrelson, the late Kirstie Alley, Shelley Long and Bebe Neuwirth, leaving a lasting impression on his castmates and viewers alike.

Scroll down to see which of the Cheers stars have paid tribute to Wendt:

Ted Danson

Danson, who played Sam Malone, told Us on Tuesday that he is “devastated to hear that Georgie is no longer with us.” The actor added, “I am sending all my love to [his wife] Bernadette and the children.”

He confessed, “It is going to take me a long time to get used to this. I love you, Georgie.”

John Ratzenberger

Ratzenberger, who played Cliff Clavin, told the outlet he was “heartbroken to hear about the passing of my friend George Wendt.”

He recalled working with Wendt for 11 years, sharing a stage “a lot of laughs and a front-row seat to one of television’s most beloved friendships.” Ratzenberger gushed, “George brought Norm to life with a subtle brilliance — the kind that made it look easy. That was his gift.”

Ratzenberger continued: “He was a true craftsman — humble, hilarious, and full of heart. What you saw on screen was exactly who he was off screen with impeccable comedic timing and a deep loyalty to those he loved. I’ll miss our conversations and the quiet moments of friendship that meant the most.”

He concluded by sending love to Wendt’s family, saying his “thoughts are with his wife Bernadette, their children, and everyone who loved him.”

‘Cheers’ Stars Recall Ditching Work to Get High on Mushrooms

Eric Allan Kramer

After guest starring on a 1989 episode of Cheers, Kramer still remembers how kind Wendt was on set. “Was hard to hear of his passing … First met George Wendt on the set of Cheers … One of the warmest, funniest guys I’ve ever come across,” Kramer wrote via Instagram. “Welcoming as the star he was, incredibly giving as an actor in rehearsal (and when the cameras were rolling).”

He recalled Wendt being “the first one to make sure I had a beer in my hand at the end of the night.” Kramer continued, “We shared a history of work with the Calgary Stampeders and exchanged many stories over the week … Cheers, indeed … Many thanks for the laughs and the education … RIP.”

Rhea Perlman

Perlman gushed about her friend in a statement shared to Us on Tuesday.

“George Wendt was the sweetest, kindest man I ever met. It was impossible not to like him. As Carla, I was often standing next to him, as Norm always took the same seat at the end of the bar, which made it easy to grab him and beat the crap out of him at least once a week. I loved doing it and he loved pretending it didn’t hurt. What a guy! I’ll miss him more than words can say,” the actress wrote.

‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Series Finale Explained: Who Retired? Who Is Pregnant?

20 May 2025 at 20:01

It was all hands on deck during the FBI: Most Wanted series finale — but did everyone make it out unscathed?

Warning: Spoilers below from season 6, episode 22 of FBI: Most Wanted.

During the Tuesday, May 20, finale, the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force, led by SSA Remy Scott (Dylan McDermott) hunted down two former government workers who were involved in a drive-by shooting and paint attack on the Bureau of Government Overreach (BOGO), killing a woman.

Upon further investigation, the team learned that the shooting was a hit so that two separate rogue government operatives could steal data and sell it to the highest bidder.

Remy turned to his agents Sheryll Barnes (Roxy Sternberg), Hana Gibson (Keisha Castle-Hughes), Ray Cannon (Edwin Hodge) and Nina Chase (Shantel VanSanten) to track down the assailants before they could sell the data — called an “internet kill switch” — and give it to the Russians, who would have used it for a terrorist attack.

The finale ended on a high note with a celebratory team dinner after its abrupt cancellation earlier this year caused an uproar among fans. CBS announced in March that the FBI spinoff, which premiered in 2020, would not be returning for a seventh season. (FBI: International was also canceled.)

“It’s bittersweet, but we are invigorated and determined to close out season 6 with hard work and love and give you the best season yet,” Castle-Hughes exclusively told Us Weekly at the time, promising this season was for the fans.

After hinting earlier this season that he was getting too old for the job, Remy told his team that he was officially retiring to spend time with the “love of my life,” Abby (Susan Misner). The couple hosted the Fugitive Task Force at their new bar, The Muster Room, and toasted to the end of an era.

The series concluded with Remy lighting the sign outside the bar and raising a glass of champagne with his team, saying, “To family!”

Sheryll Barnes

Sheryll was offered the position of Task Force Supervisor in Washington, D.C. earlier this season, which would bring her closer to her two children. While fans thought she accepted the role due to a closed-door conversation she and Remy had at the beginning of the finale, that wasn’t the case.

During the Muster Room’s soft launch, Remy announced Sheryll as his successor, the new head of the New York Fugitive Task Force. He handed her a pair of handcuffs to make it official. Sheryll, who is one of the two original members of the team, had Remy’s badge and shield framed as a thank you.

Hana Gibson

Hana is the second original task force member and the resident tech master. After toying with the idea of whether she should reunite with Ethan (Michael Raymond-James) — who lied about his drug problem — Hana revealed they were, in fact, back together. She told her friends at the dinner that Ethan was officially done with rehab and that they were going to move in together.

Amid all the drama and fighting bad guys, Ray took a moment to tell Nina the good news about his wife Cora‘s (Caroline Harris) pregnancy. Ray is already the stepfather to Cora’s son, Caleb (Ja’Siah Young), but this is their first baby together.

Nina Chase

Nina was the newest member of the task force coming over from 26 Fed (and FBI) during season 5. In addition to helping thwart a potential cyber war, Nina made amends with her father, Jackson (John Finn), after butting heads for years.

Nina began the finale episode in Houston where she helped her sister, Tink (Hannah Adrian), pack up her things and get ready for a new life in Dallas without her deadbeat husband. Before catching a plane back to New York, Nina had a heart-to-heart with her father — who basically left her to raise her sister after their mother died — and he apologized for his past actions.

“You know when I’m happiest? When somebody asks me what you do,” her father gushed. “I am so dang proud of you.” The two hugged and cried together before she returned to her team.

‘FBI’ Season 7 Finale Recap: Could [Spoiler] Be Dead? Who’s the Dirty Cop?

20 May 2025 at 18:01

FBI has been renewed for an eighth season — but based on the season 7 finale, one main cast member might not be returning.

Warning: Spoilers below from season 7, episode 22, of FBI.

The season 7 finale, which aired on Tuesday, May 20, was a giant game of cat and mouse and nonstop action. The episode began with ASAC Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) going to an undercover FBI meeting location to speak with a defense department employee named Kevin Saxton (Kevin Sussman), who claimed to have knowledge of an attack on 26 Fed.

While trying to figure out if the intel was legit, the building was attacked by individuals wearing FBI jackets. Jubal was the only survivor from the shooting, fleeing to a nearby bodega.

Before he could call his team for backup, an FBI agent came into the store claiming she heard his distress signal over the radio. When Jubal noticed her wrist tattoos, he tackled her through the window, and they fought for her gun.

‘FBI International’ and 'FBI: Most Wanted' Stars React to Cancellation News

Jubal narrowly survived the second attack and was able to identify the Forefront — a terrorist group who has infiltrated the FBI — as the people behind the attempts on his life.

When Jubal made it back to 26 Fed to debrief his boss SAC Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza), their superior ADIC Reynolds (Ben Shenkman) made it seem like Jubal could be the traitor. Deputy Assistant Director Simon Keane (Campbell Scott), meanwhile, watched the interrogation beside Isobel and seemingly agreed with her that Jubal was clean.

FBI Season 7 Finale Jubal

Throughout the episode, Jubal and Isobel worked to figure out what the Forefront wanted and which FBI agents among them were compromised. As Isobel went to tell Reynolds that there are incendiary devices in some of the FBI-issued phones, the office blew up, killing Reynolds.

While Special Agent Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) was inspecting the scene and trying to get a pulse for Isobel, Keane and another agent came into the room. She managed to hide but overheard Keane saying the mission was a success in killing Reynolds and Isobel was just collateral damage.

FBI’s Zeeko Zaki Promises Season 7 Finale Will Throw Fans for ‘Massive Loop’

Keane then went to Jubal and the rest of his team and put them on leave, which he was able to do as the interim ADIC. He claimed his reasoning was in hopes of figuring out who in fact was pulling the strings.

Maggie, meanwhile, told the rest of the agents that Isobel was one of the agents killed with the phone bombs and then passed a note to Special Agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd).

FBI Season 7 Finale Jubal and Isobel
Bennett Raglin/CBS

When Maggie and her partner, Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki), met up with Scola and his new partner, Dani Rhodes (Emily Alabi), in an abandoned part of the subway, she revealed that Isobel survived the explosion.

Isobel, Jubal, the four main special agents and their tech team agreed to work together to take down the Forefront and Keane, who they were confident was on the inside. Isobel then showed up to Keane’s office to call his bluff and lay a trap.

Isobel revealed that Jubal’s team was still on the hunt for the traitors and gave Keane their location to stop his efforts. When the men showed up to take them out, Jubal’s agents were ready, picking off one dirty cop after the other.

Once they had Keane’s right-hand man in custody, Isobel flipped the script, arresting Keane as the traitor among them.

‘FBI’ Universe Dating History: Inside Love Lives of CBS Show, Spinoff Stars

The episode concluded with Isobel and Jubal reuniting with their team back at 26 Fed to celebrate their massive win. During Isobel’s speech, she began to slur her words and repeated herself several times before passing out and falling to the ground. (She never saw a doctor after the explosion knocked her out.)

“She doesn’t have a pulse,” Maggie told Jubal, who yelled for help before the credits rolled.

FBI has been renewed for season 8 — FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International were cancelled in March — so fans will have to wait until fall to see if Isobel survives.

'Cheers' Cast: Where Are They Now? Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman and More

20 May 2025 at 16:58

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name — or in the case of Cheers, watch a show where you feel like family.

The critically acclaimed sitcom Cheers aired from 1982 to 1993, following a group of locals who hung out at a Boston bar of the same name. “Everything I do is because of the popularity of that show,” Ted Danson told Entertainment Tonight in September 2022. “It still makes me laugh when I watch sometimes. It’s funny and it’s great to see my friends and they make me laugh.”

Danson played the bar’s owner and head bartender, Sam Malone, a former Boston Red Sox relief pitcher. For the first five seasons, his character had an on-off relationship with Diane Chambers (Shelley Long). During one of their off periods, Diane dated psychiatrist and bar regular Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer). Sam, for his part, pursued savvy businesswoman Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley) after Long left the show during season 5.

Despite the lead characters’ undeniable chemistry, Cheers was first and foremost an ensemble show. Nicholas Colasanto, Rhea Perlman and George Wendt rounded out the original main cast.

Former Cheers star George Wendt died on Tuesday, May 20. He was 76.

“Beloved actor and comedian, George Wendt, best known for starring in the NBC hit comedy Cheers, has passed away,” a rep for his family told Us Weekly in a statement. “George’s family confirmed the news of his death early Tuesday morning, announcing he died peacefully in his sleep while at home. George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him. He will be missed forever.”

Wendt began his career as a comedian at The Second City in the 1970s before turning his sights on TV acting. He had several guest starring roles on shows like Taxi, Alice and Hart to Hart in the 1980s before landing the role of Norm Peterson on Cheers in 1982.

Wendt portrayed the beloved character — an everyman who liked to drink beer at his local watering hole — for 11 seasons until the series ended in 1993. Throughout its run, he earned six Emmy nominations.

Why Denzel Washington Was Absent From Cannes Press Conference

20 May 2025 at 13:55

UPDATE 05/20/25 at 4:55 p.m. ET — Denzel Washington’s absence from a Cannes Film Festival press conference was a planned one.

Director Spike Lee and actors Jeffrey Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera answered questions about their new film Highest 2 Lowest at the festival on Tuesday, May 20. Missing from the conference was Washington, who was seen in what seemed to be a tense exchange with a photographer at the film’s red carpet premiere the night prior.

The incident, however, was not the cause of his absence. A rep for the actor tells Us Weekly the Oscar winner was “always scheduled to be in and out of Cannes on Monday,” as it was his only day off from his Broadway play Othello.

Washington flew back to New York City after attending a cast photocall and the film’s premiere on Monday, May 19. “The studio and festival were aware weeks ago, ahead of time, that he would not be available for the press conference today due to his work commitment on the play,” his rep told Us in a statement.

Original story below:

Denzel Washington wasn’t about to let anything ruin his time at Cannes Film Festival.

Washington, 70, attended the world premiere for his film Higheset 2 Lowest on Monday, May 19. Per a video shared by the Daily Mail, the Oscar winner was spotted speaking with director Spike Lee on the red carpet when a photographer grabbed his arm to get his attention. Washington then turned to the photographer and pointed his finger warning him to stop.
Although the photographer smiled and appeared to nod in agreement, he then attempted to grab the actor again, causing Washington to turn around and once again repeatedly ask him to “stop.”
Despite the tense exchange, a rep for Washington told Us Weekly that it was a “great night at the Cannes Film Festival.”

Once inside, Washington’s evening continued to improve as his and Lee’s movie received a six-minute standing ovation, Deadline reported.
Highest 2 Lowest is the re-imagination of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller High and Low, which is based on the King’s Ransom written by Ed McBain.

In the new movie, a titan music mogul (Washington) becomes the target of a ransom plot in modern-day New York City and must face a life-or-death moral dilemma because of it.
After the Cannes screening on Monday, Lee, 68, sang Washington’s praises as he presented him with an honorary Palme d’Or Award. “This is my brother, right here,” Lee said of Washington, who replied, “This is a total surprise for me!”

Denzel’s Cannes drama comes less than one year after he was filmed yelling at fans clamoring for an autograph in October 2024. At the time, Washington was spotted snapping at onlookers in New York City who were standing outside the Museum of Modern Art in hopes of catching his eye.
“I said, ‘I’ll see you when I get out, which part of that don’t y’all understand?’” Washington said in a video obtained by the Daily Mail last year.
He added, “It’s about showing love” and then was heard raising his voice before quipping, “Or not, or not! We can do it another way … or not, we can do it both ways!”

One Chicago Showrunners Tell Us Everything to Expect on Season Finales

19 May 2025 at 14:25

There’s only one episode left for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. this season, and the One Chicago showrunners tease drama, romantic updates and danger for all.

During the May 14 episode of Chicago Med, viewers learned that Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) is pregnant with a baby presumed to be Dr. Mitch Ripley’s (Luke Mitchell). Showrunner Allen MacDonald exclusively told Us Weekly that when it comes to Hannah and Mitch’s future, it’s an “unfortunate wait and see” scenario.

He teased that fans might not get quick answers about how Hannah plans to proceed and whether she plans to tell Mitch about the pregnancy during the Wednesday, May 21, finale.

Chicago Fire, meanwhile, left fans with questions about Chief Dom Pascal’s (Dermot Mulroney) future at Firehouse 51 during the pre-finale episode. When it comes to the Wednesday conclusion, showrunner Andrea Newman told Us that Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will be caught in the middle of Pascal’s case as Pascal fights to prove he is not guilty of attempted murder.

One Chicago’s Most Heartbreaking Exits

Chicago P.D. fans will also be in for a complex and explosive conclusion during the season 12 finale, according to showrunner Gwen Sigan. (It will also show Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek’s wedding!)

“There are some dire straits when we catch up with [Intelligence] in the first scene of the last episode,” she revealed, revealing, “The fractures are really between the team and Voight.”

Scroll down for a breakdown of what viewers can expect from each One Chicago finale:

Dr. Charles’ Saga Continues

After Dr. Daniel Charles’ (Oliver Platt) mother died earlier this season, he was reunited with his two daughters, Robin (Mekia Cox) and Anna (Hannah Riley), at her funeral. According to the finale preview trailer, Charles’ daughter Anna ends up in the ED and it puts a strain on his family as a result.

“Dr. Charles through this season has been — he’s a really vivacious, gregarious guy, but he is also lonely. And that was one of the themes for everybody kind of this season, but especially Charles,” MacDonald exclusively told Us on Friday, May 16. “As great of a psychiatrist as he is, and as talented of a shrink that he is, he doesn’t necessarily do well confronting his own issues.”

Those issues will bubble to the surface during the Med finale. MacDonald explained that “the way to resolve” his guilt over not mending fences with his mom before her death is for Charles to work on his relationships with his daughters. “It was important to us to see the whole family unit together,” the showrunner said.

Frost Gets Into Hot Water

During the May 14 episode, Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) discovered that his young patient’s lung transplant was called off when a wealthy tech guru managed to jump the line and get his daughter the lungs amid her cancer battle. In the finale, Frost’s patient’s father will go off the rails after learning he might not survive without the lungs.

“Frost is going to be a big part in attempting to de-escalate,” MacDonald explained. “That story line is kind of about looking in the mirror and like really facing the truth.” The TV creator noted that ultimately the episode will come down to the kids, who both need the lungs.

MacDonald added, “Sometimes the sick kids have the clearest perspective of what’s going on and have something to teach their parents.”

‘Chicago Fire’

Severide’s on the Case — And Caught in the Middle

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago Fire
Peter Gordon/NBC

When fans last saw Chicago Fire, Pascal was taken in for interviews by the Office of Fire Investigation (OFI) after evidence pointed to him trying to kill the man that killed his wife, Monica (KaDee Strickland), in a car accident. Severide, meanwhile, was convinced of his innocence, which could get him into trouble with OFI.

“We’ve been calling that situation the ‘who’s your daddy situation’ for Severide because he’s got such daddy issues,” Newman exclusively told Us, noting that OFI leader Captain Tom Van Meter (Tim Hopper) was like a “father figure” to Severide before Pascal took over that territory.

According to the showrunner, Severide “wasn’t betraying Van Meter” by keeping his investigation into Pascal (on the hunt to prove his innocence) a secret. “Van Meter sees it as, ‘You didn’t come to me, you didn’t trust me,’” Newman explained. “So now [Severide’s] caught between these two kind of father figures that he cares about very deeply. But he is all in with Pascal and that’s gonna have consequences.”

One Chicago’s Most Memorable Couples

Violet and Carver’s Love Story Is in Jeopardy

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago Fire 2
Peter Gordon/NBC

Earlier this season, Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) wrote down her feelings for firefighter Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) in a letter but never sent it. Now that Violet is single again — she broke up with her boyfriend prior to the finale — Newman told Us, her letter could finally make its way to Carver.

“She’s been told that he is in a precarious place. He’s walking a tightrope right now where something could push him over and he’s backsliding and you know, off his recovery train [with alcohol],” the showrunner said, revealing that Violet has to be “really careful” that she’s “not pushing him in any way.”

That being said, Newman hinted that her feelings are “absolutely bubbling over” and that the finale could be the moment when that “bomb” goes off and she spills her true feelings.

‘Chicago P.D.’

The Team Is Ready to Fight

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago PD
Lori Allen/NBC

Chicago P.D.’s ongoing battle between Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy) came to a head during the May 14 episode. By episode’s end, Reid arrested Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) for sleeping with his CI and stripped Burgess (Marina Squerciati) of her badge for covering it up. He also disbanded the rest of Intelligence, leaving everyone to reconsider what’s next.

Voight, however, is “obviously not going to go down without a fight,” Sigan exclusively told Us, adding that everyone is “going off book” in the finale. She teased that viewers will be toying with the question of whether Voight has “really changed” and “evolved” as he does anything in his power to take down Reid and his dirty policing tactics.

“This really was meant to test him and put sort of this fun-house mirror that Reid represents up against him,” Sigan said. “Voight [is] trying to determine where to fight against his basic instincts in a way, and to listen to Chapman (Sara Bues) and to listen to the team.”

'Chicago P.D.' Showrunner Teases What to Expect When Season 12 Returns

The Burzek Wedding Gets Put on the Back Burner

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago PD 2
Lori Allen/NBC

Sigan noted that the finale contains “really real” stakes for everyone on the team, including Burgess, who made detective shortly before Reid took away her badge. “This has been what she’s been wanting for a decade or more,” the showrunner explained. “And it’s been taken away from her in a moment. And she’s supposed to be happy, and she’s supposed to get married, and she’s supposed to have the best few weeks of her life.”

Instead of relaxing as a blissful bride-to-be, Sigan said Burgess is left asking, “Am I even gonna have a job?” She noted being a cop is a “huge” part of Burgess’ identity, which leaves her reeling prior to her wedding.

“It is a dark moment. I think they’re all wrestling with it,” Sigan added. “They’re wrestling with, ‘How far will we go to get to get it back and to take this guy down?’”

Chicago Med’s season 10 finale airs on NBC Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Chicago Fire season 13 finale at 9 p.m. ET. Chicago P.D.’s season 12 finale wraps up that same evening at 10 p.m. ET.
