From finding love with each other after their first marriages to becoming the first couple of the United States, former President Joe Bidenand Dr. Jill Biden have built a strong marriage that has lasted more than four decades.
Joe and Jill met in 1975 after the politician’s first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden, and infant daughter Naomi “Amy” tragically died in a car crash in 1972. The educator, for her part, had finalized her divorce from Bill Stevenson just before being introduced to Joe.
As their relationship progressed, it became serious fast as she began helping Joe care for his sons, Beau and Hunter. The former senator proposed to his now-wife five times before she agreed to marry him.
“[After each proposal], I said, ‘Not yet. Not yet. Not yet.’ Because by that time, of course, I had fallen in love with the boys, and I really felt that this marriage had to work,” she told Vogue in November 2016. “Because they had lost their mom, and I couldn’t have them lose another mother. So, I had to be 100 percent sure.”
The couple wed at the United Nations chapel in 1997. Though Jill has been there for Joe as he continued to grow in his political career, the 46th U.S. president has also supported her along the way. He stood by her side as she pursued her various degrees, and he gave Jill her doctorate degree in 2007 when she graduated from the University of Delaware.

The twosome tied the knot at the United Nations chapel and held their wedding reception at Sign of the Dove in New York City. He had proposed to Jill five times before she said yes.
Jill supported Joe as he announced his run for president. Around that time, she earned her Master of Arts degree from Villanova University, six years after receiving her Master of Education degree from West Chester University.
When Jill earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Delaware, Joe was there to hand her degree to her. He had previously supported her as she defended her thesis to earn her doctorate.
Joe gushed about his love for Jill in his memoir, Promises to Keep. “She gave me back my life,” he wrote. “She made me start to think my family might be whole again.”
As Joe was sworn in as the 47th vice president, Jill held onto the Bible — a sentimental item that has been in his family since the 1890s — that he placed his hand upon.
For Valentine’s Day, Joe arranged for a tree swing at the vice president's residence to be marked with a plaque that read, “Joe loves Jill. Valentine's Day 2010.”
At the Democratic National Convention, Jill opened up about how her longtime love has always been supportive of her career. “After Joe was elected vice president, people started questioning whether I could keep teaching. Not Joe,” she explained. “He was there standing by my side saying, 'Of course you should. It's who you are, Jill.’”
Jill opened up about her love story with Joe in her memoir, Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself. “After the disappointment of my divorce, I never wanted to feel so out of control of my heart again,” she shared. “But in the months that Joe and I were dating, that desire ran up against a new reality: I was falling in love.”
Joe was able to count on Jill during a campaign event that saw protestors storming the stage to approach him. After Jill fought them off, Joe joked: “I’m probably the only candidate running for president whose wife is my Secret Service.”
After decorating the White House lawn with huge candy hearts, the first couple shared the love on Valentine's Day in February 2021. "The love of my life and the life of my love. Happy Valentine’s Day, Jilly," the 46th president tweeted. The first lady, for her part, stopped by a local sweet shop in Washington, D.C. to pick up a gift for her husband.
News broke in May 2025 that Joe had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. A statement from Joe’s personal office to CNN shared that the diagnosis was “characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.” Joe’s family, including Jill, were currently “reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

While Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s relationship came as a surprise to many, the pair knew each other for years before their whirlwind romance.
After Barker spent time with Kardashian at her mom Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs, California, home in January 2021, Us Weekly confirmed that the pair were dating. “Kourtney and Travis are officially a couple,” the insider told Us. “They have been close friends for years and have been dating for a couple months. Kourtney and Barker packed on the PDA during a getaway to Laguna Beach. The TV personality shared photos from the trip via social media, including a video of her fiancé getting handsy with her on the beach while she wore a cheeky swimsuit.
The rocker revealed via social media that the duo had taken their relationship to the next level — and Kourtney had become his at-home caretaker. “Fiancée, best friend and now nurse. @kourtneykardash just removed my stitches,” Barker tweeted.
Barker swiftly shut down criticism of his frequent PDA with the Hulu personality, clapping back at an Instagram troll. "No kardashian finger up the ass, tongue, intestines, nudity, pda, etc etc anymore? The lovebirds got married on May 15 at a Santa Barbara, California, courthouse, Us Weekly confirmed at the time. They were spotted in a black convertible baring a "Just Married" sign after exchanging vows. Kourtney wore a white mini dress and veil while Barker wore a black suit.
Kourtney and Travis exchanged vows for the third time in front of their friends and family on May 22 in Portofino, Italy. Alabama was first to share the news via her Instagram Story, sharing photos of the newlyweds at the altar.
During an episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney opened up about her wedding plans with Travis. "Mom, Travis asked me if I would marry him once a month for the next year," she told Kris Jenner, before adding in a confessional interview, "I was never that girl who had the vision of a wedding or thought about getting married."
The musician, for his part, referred to his idea as "a celebration of weddings."
Travis was rushed to the hospital on June 28 for pancreatitis. “Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been. Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change," Kourtney shared in a statement several days later. “Travis and I went in for a routing endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
She continued: “I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support."
“Travis is doing much better — well enough that he got to get out of the house for the 4th of July and spend time with the kids,” an insider exclusively told Us after Travis was released from the hospital. “They had a nice relaxing holiday at the beach.”
The pair took a weekend getaway a few weeks after the musician's health scare. "I never want to stop making memories with you," Travis commented on his wife's beach photos via Instagram.
The Hulu star gave fans a never-before-seen glimpse of the duo's courthouse wedding in California while sharing a sweet tribute to grandma MJ via Instagram. "So happy you could be one of the only two guests we had when we were legally married, I will always remember this day and night with you," she gushed in the caption. One of the photos showed the couple signing their marriage certificate.

The couple marked the first anniversary of their California courthouse wedding ceremony. "One year, forever to go 🖤," she captioned an Instagram video. Barker gushed in the comments section, "Forever isn’t long enough 🖤🥀."
Kourtney paid homage to her spouse’s “All the Small Things” music video when she revealed that she was pregnant with their first child together.
