The Florida Gators have been crowned champions of the 2025 menβs basketball NCAA Tournament after defeating the Houston Cougars, 65-63, in thrilling fashion on Monday night.Β
The Gators had not won the national title on the hardwood since doing so back-to-back in 2006 and 2007 under Billy Donovan. This is the program's third national title.
Florida battled the pesky Cougars all night, coming back in the second half to win it all.

Elon Musk's wealth dipped below $300 billion for the first time since last year.

Elon Musk's wealth fell to $298 billion on Monday, according to Bloomberg's Billionaire Index.
Musk's wealth drop follows Tesla's stock decline and the White House's recent tariff announcements.
Year to date, he has lost $135 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Elon Musk's wealth dropped below $300 billion on Monday for the first time since last year, as the impacts of recent Tesla backlash and sweeping new tariffs collided.
The richest man in the world was worth $298 billion as of market close Monday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Since the beginning of the year, Musk's net worth has declined nearly $135 billion, or around 31%, as calculated by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
It's been a sharp turnaround for the billionaire, who just in December became the first person ever to be worth more than $400 billion. Prior to Monday, his net worth had not dipped below $300 billion since November. His net worth was $264 billion on Nov. 6, according to Bloomberg.
The slide in Musk's net worth has been fueled by Tesla's share price slide, with the EV maker's stock down nearly 40% this year.
Musk and Tesla have faced significant backlash as a result of the CEO's work in the White House, where he serves as a close advisor to President Donald Trump, especially in the administration's push for government efficiency via the DOGE office.
Many Tesla investors and fans have expressed concern about Musk not focusing enough on the company. Last month, when Fox Business asked how he was managing his DOGE work and leading his various companies, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO said, "With great difficulty."
Despite rumors last week that Musk was planning an exit from the White House, he and the Trump administration dismissed the rumors and did not give a timeline for his eventual departure.
Tesla and Musk's wealth may also be affected by the sweeping tariffs announced by the Trump administration last week, which roiled financial markets. Musk, who has been largely loyal to Trump, has spoken out against tariffs.
On Saturday, he said he wanted "zero" tariffs and a "free trade zone" between the US and Europe, and on Monday, he shared a video of the economist Milton Friedman discussing the benefits of international trade.
Musk's wealth losses do not yet put him in jeopardy of losing the title of the world's richest person β runner-up Jeff Bezos was still trailing Musk by over $100 billion as of Monday.
Rachel Brosnahan is basically a walking spring mood board. On April 4, the actress was spotted out in New York City, toting a chic yet practical Tory Burch bag that made us want to update our own accessory collections. While the hobo design retails for $498, those looking to snag the look while saving money can do so with this $23 lookalike from Amazon.
Last week, the Superman star was seen grabbing her morning coffee, decked out in a look thatβs surprisingly easy to recreate. Keeping things simple, Brosnahan wore a black turtleneck with classic blue jeans, a suede trench, brown crocodile booties and a baseball cap. Her retro Linda Farrow oval sunglasses quickly caught our eye, but it was her bag choice for the day β a cream Tory Burch Romy Hobo Bag β that proved to be the perfect everyday pick, tying her outfit together.
In an effort to recreate Brosnahanβs ensemble for future casual-meets-glam occasions, we found an affordable lookalike β one thatβs just as chic, despite being a fraction of the price.
Get the Montana West Slouchy Hobo Bag (Originally $26) on sale for just $23 at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate at the date of publication, April 7, 2025, but are subject to change.
Seconds after spotting the Montana West Slouchy Hobo Bag on Amazon, we had already added it to our cart. Not only is it practically a replica of Brosnahanβs designer pick, but itβs also a favorite of Amazon shoppers. The bag serves high-end style for less and has a similar, slouchy hobo silhouette, gold hardware and an adjustable shoulder strap.
The affordable alternative is also eco-friendly, made entirely of vegan leather that will hold up against wear and tear. Itβs able to fit multiple necessities, like tablets and notebooks, and even comes with a mini cosmetic bag that protects the interior from stains. Combined with its sleek look, the Montana design goes beyond your basic purse, and will no doubt become your new wear-everywhere tote!
While the Amazon bag is available in Brosnahanβs versatile cream colorway, there are several others for shoppers to choose from. Neutral lovers can go with basic black or beige, while others can snag it in a bright spring color like yellow or orange. All of them feature a magnetic clasp, which is meant to keep your belongings safe and secure!
One reviewer confirmed our suspicions and called it a βgreat bag for every day,β noting that the piece is βroomy but not bulky and heavy.β
βI especially like the little zippered bag that comes with it,β they said. βI can put my loose items in there and still have room for my wallet and small water bottle in the main part of the purse.β
Feeling the hobo bag look but searching for something a bit. . . smaller? Or maybe you want a design thatβs more fashion-forward? Shop an assortment of our other favorite cream hobo bags below.
Several A-listers have decided to say goodbye to Los Angeles and grow roots elsewhere.
Years after This Is Us came to an end, for example, star Chrissy Metz relocated from the City of Angels to Nashville.
βI was in L.A. for 21 years, but my family is in Florida, where Iβm from, and during the pandemic, I could drive to them from here,β Metz explained to People in April 2025. Itβs just a better quality of life here. Everything is 15 minutes away, and itβs just so much less stress.β
βWalking through the farm with kids and dogs and family, every stop, youβre pulling off of trees or off of bushes, pulling up out of the ground and feeding everyone as youβre moving through the farm,β Somerhalder said in a November 2023 interview with E! News, adding that farm living is βa lotβ of work. βItβs unbelievable when you see these amazing creature life forms and how they all live on the farm together is really special.β
Scroll down to see which celebrities chose to move away from Los Angeles:
The Dawsonβs Creek alum shared in September 2020 that he and his family would be relocating outside of Los Angeles. βSometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house,β he wrote via Instagram. βLeaving Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories weβve made here. Onto the next big adventure! β€οΈπ.β
His wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, later revealed that the family settled down in Texas.
After moving from Los Angeles to Nashville, Metz told People in April 2025 that there is βa lot going onβ in her new city. "There's obviously great music, great food. I grew up in the South, so I'm used to sort of that hospitalityβit feels more communal here,β she said. βIn L.A. it was always like, 'Oh, you have an audition? What's it for? Oh, you have an audition? What for?' It was all very dog eat dog.β
After more than 15 years in Los Angeles, Powell moved back home to Texas. The Top Gun: Maverick star told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2024 that the real benefit of βgetting to this point in Hollywood is that I can now leave Hollywood. Itβs like Iβve earned the ability to go back to my family.β
Seyfried resides on a farm in the Catskills with her husband, Thomas Sadoski. βItβs insane how much I can feel so accomplished and successful here without having to be in a successful movie,β she told The New York Times in November 2020.
After wrapping How I Met Your Mother, Segel left Los Angeles for Ojai, California. βBeing there had the really interesting side-effect of realizing β after six weeks time, mind you β that, βOh, my gosh. I finally feel calm,ββ Segel told the Los Angeles Times in June 2023. βAnd it occurred to me that when youβre doing this job and living in L.A., youβre never leaving campus.β He laughs. βSo it was like this whole new experience to realize that when someone outside of Hollywood asks, βWhat are you up to?β they mean, like, right now. So the answer is: βOh. Iβm on my way to the grocery store,β not βI have three projects in development.ββ
The Modern Family star has been living in Kansas City since the sitcom came to an end β which has led him to have a different perspective on Los Angeles life.
βWhat I realized it does is it highlights everything great about our business, the entertainment business,β he said during a September 2024 appearance on In Depth With Graham Bensinger. βAnd it highlights all the douchebaggery of our business. It amplifies it. Because Iβm here, Iβm dealing with people from here, and Iβm going into the store and having all these authentic, real moments, and then I go to Hollywood, and youβre reminded of some of the types of people that you deal with.β
He continued, βBut then youβre also offered fruit on a big board. βWould you like some lychee and kiwi, sir?β Itβs like, βOh, yeah, this is whatβs great about Hollywood.β β¦ Itβs really fun. It just amplifies it. Itβs like, leaving here and going back and doing something is almost more fun than it was living there, doing it.β
Larter and her husband, Hayes MacArthur, moved from Los Angeles to a small town in Idaho amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The pair initially took their children on a ski trip in Idaho before deciding to relocate there permanently.
βWe fall in love with nature and the mountains and this entire new life,β Larter said during a January 2025 appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark. βWe totally pivoted and went for it. We literally had our house [in California] for less than a year. We went back to L.A. and we realized we wanted to put our family first.β
She continued, βOur life is so different there and itβs a small town, and it kind of holds you to a different type of accountability. Itβs something that me and Hayes really wanted to do for our children, so we did.β
Eisenberg relocated to Indiana with his wife, Anna Strout, who is from the Midwestern state. βIβve lived in Indiana for a decade on-and-off and thatβs where I feel the most comfortable,β Eisenberg said in a February 2025 interview with CBS News. βIβm not somebody who wants to surround myself in an industry that just feels kind of unstable.β
McConaughey left Hollywood for Texas with his wife, Camila Alves. βWhen I was rolling in the rom-coms, and I was the rom-com dude β¦ that was my lane and I liked that lane, that lane paid well, and it was working,β he said on a November 2024 episode of the βGood Trouble With Nick Kyrgiosβ podcast. βI was so strong in that lane that anything outside of that lane, dramas and stuff that I wanted to do, [they] were like, no, no, no, no, no. Hollywood said, βNo, no, no, no, you should stay there, stay there.ββ
He continued, βSince I couldnβt do what I wanted to do, I stopped doing what I was doing and moved down to the ranch in Texas. I made a pact with my wife and said, βIβm not going back to work unless I get offered roles I want to do.ββ
Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas, reside in Dubai β which a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2024 has been a βhealing placeβ for her.
The One Tree Hill alum and her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, uprooted their Los Angeles life for a New York working farm. βLiving on a farm was always a dream of mine, but I didnβt necessarily know how to make that work with the industry that I am in,β Burton told Good Morning America in June 2021.
After leaving Los Angeles, the Vampire Diaries alum told E! News in November 2023 that he and Reed are βfarm people,β adding, βwe produce most of our own food, I live in my cowboy boots.β
Duff, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Becca Tobin opened up to The New York Times in June 2021 about their decision to leave Los Angeles behind for the Lone Star state. βOnce you come here, itβs hard to leave,β she said of Texas.
Sigler embraced the change of pace after leaving Los Angeles for Texas. βThere was a lot of like, βOh my God, look what we can get for this. Look at the life we can give ourselves,β you know, compared to what weβre able to afford here in L.A.,β she told The New York Times in June 2021. βI just feel like weβre taking a big, deep breath since we got here.β
Tobin was surprised by the transition out of Los Angeles to Texas. βYou mean I can get in my car, drive five minutes and not fight people when Iβm in the grocery store to get in a lot?β she recalled to The New York Times in June 2021. βOh, and you donβt pay for parking anywhere.β
The Kim Possible star and her husband, Brendan Rooney, said goodbye to Hollywood and moved to Austin, Texas. βI love that the girls can kind of be out of the Hollywood area,β she told People in a March 2024 interview. βI love California, we have our PodCo offices there. And I also truly feel at home in Austin. I have a really strong community of friends there, and I've really found a way to set down roots.β
Swank and Philip Schneider relocated to Colorado. βI have been looking for land since I was in my mid-20s,β she told Architectural Digest in November 2022. βI find nature to be my happiest place, and animals are my other happiest place. And to be with both of them is everything to me.β
Wahlberg reflected on moving to Las Vegas with his family in an August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. βI mean, I got to tell you that I miss it right now standing here,β he said at the premiere of Netflixβs The Union. βI always miss it. I loved it [here]. But raising teenagers who are growing, I wanted to make sure that theyβre put, first and foremost, in a good, safe, healthy environment where they can thrive, pursue their interests and goals and go after what they want to do in life. We could always come back.β
Years after Heardβs defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp, a source exclusively told Us in May 2024 that she resides in Spain with her daughter. βAmber doesnβt want to raise a child in Hollywood,β the insider said, adding that Heard βnever liked the energyβ of Los Angeles. βShe [thinks] Madrid is a more welcoming place for her. She feels safe and secure, and sheβs surrounded by better people where she is.β
Carrie Coon shared the inspiration behind her now viral run from The White Lotus season 3 finale β and itβs all too relatable.
βThere wasnβt direction,β Coon, 44, told Variety in an interview published on Monday, April 7, revealing that her character Laurieβs mad dash after hearing gunshots during the Sunday, April 6, episode was entirely her own doing.
The actress explained, βI knew the gunshot was going to happen, and we were going to run into the bushes, essentially.β
Warning: This story contains spoilers about the season 3 finale of The White Lotus.
Coon revealed that Laurie running away from the scene like a mad woman βhead down without a second thought about her friendsβ wellbeing after professing her love for them both β was inspired by her growing up in a country that, sadly, experiences mass shootings on an all-too regular basis.
βLook, Iβm an American and Iβm a New Yorker, and if you think I donβt know where the exits are in any building Iβm in, then youβre not paying attention to the news,β Coon said. βI thought, βWhat would a person do?β A person would f***ing run, would book it.β
She noted, βIβm fast. Iβm not as fast as I used to be!β Still, her speed was evident in the memorable scene that quickly went viral after the finale aired.
Coon recalled, βSome polite Thai workers were kind of scampering through in the background. I was like, βNo, no, you need to have some Americans sprinting and hitting the deck and jumping in the lagoon.β The Americans are not playing. They know what this means!β
Fabio Lovino/HBO
During the season finale, Laurie, Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) witnessed Rick (Walton Goggins) shooting Sritalaβs (Lek Patravadi) husband, Jim (Scott Glenn), who is revealed to be Rickβs father, on a bridge in Thailand. The moment they heard the gunshot, all three women made a run for it.
Laurie led the way, sprinting from the scene like she was a college track star. Kate and Jaclyn werenβt far behind, screaming as they tried to find safety. There was also a splash as someone else jumped in the lagoon.
Shortly after the traumatic experience, the three friends boarded a boat, leaving Thailand. They were seemingly affected by the shooting, but didnβt speak about it. (They did, however, get closure during their last group dinner, when Laurie got real about her sadness and how much her friendships mean to her.)
Rick, for his part, died during the finale after he was shot during an altercation with Sritalaβs guard. His girlfriend, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood), was also shot and killed during the fight.
βTo be honest, Iβm a bit of a head case right now. Iβm crying in my car. This show is my whole life, then itβs over and Iβm back in my house with my dog, trying to remember who my friends are and what did I do before the show,β creator Mike White told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday, April 2, teasing the finale. βI donβt want to become one of those crazy people whoβs lost the plot.β
He added: βI had to take these MMPI psych tests, and they were like, βYouβve become one standard deviation less nice than you were in 2018.β Yep, that sounds right.β
Charlotte Le Bon, who played Chloe on the show, revealed to THR at the time that, βPeople are going to hate Mike Whiteβ based on who he killed off.
Brad Pitt and Kate Hudson are notable examples of stars who turned down iconic movie and TV roles (in Almost Famous and The Devil Wears Prada, respectively), yet there are just as many famous faces who were rejected by producers and directors when their casting didnβt feel quite right.
Millie Bobby Brown and Dwayne Johnson are unquestionably two of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, but even they were turned down for movies that became hugely successful without them. In fact, some of the most iconic movies and TV shows of all time were one casting decision away from being totally different from what we love and celebrate about them.
Keep scrolling for a look at some notable movie and TV castings that never happened, including crucial roles in Beauty and the Beast, Friends, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and more:
Tiffani Thiessen
Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)
Imagine a world where Thiessen went from playing Bayside Highβs head cheerleader Kelly Kapowski to working at the Central Perk in Friends?!
In 2018, Thiessen revealed on SiriusXMβs You Up With Nikki Glaser that she auditioned to play Rachel Green, the Friends character who eventually made Jennifer Aniston a TV icon.
βDid you know I tested for Friends, for Jennifer Aniston?β the actress confirmed. βI was just a little too young. I was a little too young to the pairing of the rest of them.β
Thiessen was only 20 years old during Friendsβ casting search, so itβs perhaps no surprise she landed her breakout postβSaved by the Bell role as Valerie Malone in Beverly Hills, 90210 instead.
Idris Elba
Karwai Tang/WireImage
The Golden Globe winner told People in 2018 that his love of musicals inspired him to pursue playing the boastful hunter Gaston in Disneyβs live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.
βI auditioned for Beauty and the Beast,β Elba confirmed. βFor the movie, yeah! I called, I said, βI want in!β They said, βUh, you know, uh, well, OK.β So, somewhere they have a tape of me singing.β
Luke Evans ultimately was cast as Gaston, perhaps because he had more musical experience from his starring roles in Rent and Miss Saigon in Londonβs West End.
Millie Bobby Brown
Taylor Hill/WireImage)
Brown has some notable experience playing genetically modified killing machines (hello, Eleven in Stranger Things!) so it makes sense that she auditioned to play Wolverineβs surrogate daughter X23 in 2017βs X-Men movie Logan.
The actress revealed to Variety that she had her heart set on the Marvel role, especially because of the incredible talent involved with the project.
βI was like, βItβs going to be amazing, Iβm going to really prepare,β and I sat in my room reading the lines,β she said in 2017. βHonestly, for me, I felt so β I felt [like] an actor, in the audition room, hitting [star] Hugh Jackman, and [director] James Mangold sitting right in front of me.β
Dafne Keen was eventually cast as X23, a role she reprised in 2024βs Deadpool & Wolverine.
βI watched [Logan]; she was incredible,β Brown said of Keen. βIt meant so much to me.β
Dwayne Johnson
Taylor Hill/FilmMagic)
The Rock is no stranger to action franchises, given his appearances in the Fast & Furious Saga, G.I. Joe, Jumanji and The Mummy Returns, though thereβs one action hero he never got a chance to play.
The former WWE champion confirmed via Twitter (now X) in 2017 that he wanted to bring author Lee Childβs military police hero Jack Reacher to the big screen before Tom Cruise landed the role.
βLuv the character. Bout 10yrs ago I went after the role, but Cruise got it. Was great motivation for me to always stay hungry,β Johnson wrote.
Cruise played Jack Reacher in two feature films before Amazon rebooted the franchise as a live-action TV series starring Alan Ritchson in the title role.
Mindy Kaling
Jason Mendez/Getty Images)
Kaling lamented to Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen in 2014 that βno oneβ ever invited her to auditions because she was βso specificβ until she got a call for Bridesmaids.
β[That] was a movie I loved,β she said. βIt was for Maya Rudolphβs part. I practiced it so much and was so into it and I loved that whole cast.β
Kaling admitted that being passed over for the Kristen Wiigβstarring comedy blockbuster was a βheartbreakerβ because she was so excited to work with the movieβs all-star cast, which included Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson.
Matthew McConaughey

Titanicβs climactic goodbye for its star-crossed lovers may have had an entirely different vibe if McConaughey had won the role of Jack Dawson instead of Leonardo DiCaprio.
McConaughey confided in a 2016 Playboy interview that he made it far enough along in the Titanic audition process that he thought he was a lock to play Jack.
βIt was one of those auditions where I left and thought I had it,β he said. βI really enjoyed it. Kate Winslet really enjoyed it. That was a huge opportunity. But [director James Cameron] liked Leonardo DiCaprio better.β
Presumably, there were no hard feelings when McConaughey and DiCaprio teamed up on The Wolf of Wall Street nearly 20 years later, since both men ended up with impressive careers.
Kevin Bacon
Arturo Holmes/Getty Images)
The Footloose star revealed during a 2025 appearance on The View that he unsuccessfully campaigned to play a drummer in Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.
Bacon seemingly had an edge because heβd previously worked with Spinal Tap II director Rob Reiner on the Oscar-nominated 1992 legal drama A Few Good Men, yet in the end, he wasnβt invited to join The Tap.
βSomebody called [Reiner] for me, and I didnβt get the part,β Bacon revealed. βSpinal Tap, Iβm so excited about part two, and the original it was a running joke that they just had drummers that would disappear.β
As Bacon mentioned, it may be for the best that he wasnβt cast in Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, since every single one of the bandβs (completely fictional) drummers have died under strange circumstances, from onstage explosions to being eaten whole by a snake.
Eddie Redmayne
Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/Getty Images
Prior to Redmayne winning an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, he was in the running for Star Wars villain Kylo Ren before Adam Driver landed the job. Apparently, Redmayneβs Star Wars audition didnβt go well.
βThey gave me like a Star Trek scene β or like something from Pride and Prejudice,β Redmayne told Uproxx in 2016. βIt was one of those films. With films that top secret, they donβt give you the actual lines. So they give you a scene from Pride and Prejudice, but then they tell you youβre auditioning for the baddie. If youβre me, you then put some ridiculous voice on.β
Redmayne went on, βThat was really a hilarious moment. Because it was [casting director] Nina Gold, who I have to thank a lot because sheβs cast me in several films. And she was just sitting there and I was trying again and again with different versions of my kind of βkoohh paaaahβ [Darth Vader breathing sound] voice. And after, like, 10 shots, sheβs like, βYou got anything else?β I was like, βNo.ββ
Gwen Stefani
James Devaney/GC Images
The whole course of celebrity culture may have been radically different if the No Doubt singer was cast opposite Brad Pitt in 2005βs Mr. & Mrs. Smith instead of Angelina Jolie.
Itβs almost inconceivable to imagine a Brangelina-less alternate timeline, but at least according to Stefani, it nearly happened.
During a 2016 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Stefani said sheβd had βa bunch of auditionsβ to play badass assassin Jane Smith in the action movie.
βI feel like I almost got it,β Stefani told host Howard Stern, before clarifying: β[It was] very competitive and I wanted to do it, but I wanted to do music more.β
While Stefaniβs casting in Mr. & Mrs. Smith may seem like a stretch nowadays, she was building an impressive resume of acting roles around the time Mr. & Mrs. Smith came about. The most memorable of Stefaniβs early roles was portraying Hollywood icon Jean Harlow opposite DiCaprio in legendary director Martin Scorseseβs The Aviator in 2004.
Shopify CEO Tobi LΓΌtke shared in an internal memo that he expects his employees to "demonstrate why they cannot get what they want done using AI" before hiring new staff.

Shopify CEO Tobi LΓΌtke shared an internal memo laying out an aggressive AI plan for the company.
In it, he says before managers hire anyone new, they must prove that AI couldn't do the job better.
Shopify's attrition rate and its embrace of AI have coincided in recent years.
The CEO of Shopify is asking managers to prove that AI couldn't do a better job before requesting to hire someone new.
In an internal memo titled "AI usage is now a baseline expectation," Shopify CEO Tobi LΓΌtke said that "using AI well is a skill that needs to be carefully learned" by "using it a lot," and that AI usage is "now a fundamental expectation of everyone at Shopify."
"Before asking for more Headcount and resources, teams must demonstrate why they cannot get what they want done using AI," LΓΌtke wrote in the memo that he posted on X after it was leaked. "What would this area look like if autonomous AI agents were already part of the team? This question can lead to really fun discussions and projects."
LΓΌtke added that AI usage questions will also be added to Shopify's "performance and peer review questionnaire" and that employees will "have access to as much cutting edge AI tools as possible."
"This applies to all of us, including me and the executive team," LΓΌtke wrote.
Shopify did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
In early 2023, the company began improving customer service levels by embracing generative AI to handle some tasks that support employees had previously done.
Later that year, it laid off 20% of its workforce, rescinded job offers for former interns, and sold its logistics business Deliverr, which it acquired in 2022 for $2.1 billion.
In 2024, the Shopify leadership announced a re-organization to fix the "unhealthy" ratio of managers to "crafters," the company's term for individual contributors.
In January 2025, the company quietly laid off employees in its support division, which troubleshoots issues for millions of merchants who use the platform to sell products.
On top of the six startups that Shopify acquired in 2024, in March, the company also bought Vantage Discovery, a startup that builds AI-powered search functions for retailers. The intelligent search platform is said to be able to bring a "Pinterest-like capability to any retailer" using generative AI.
"What we need to succeed is our collective sum total skill and ambition at applying our craft, multiplied by AI, for the benefit of our merchants," Lutke said in the memo. "If you're not climbing, you're sliding."

Remi Bader is cleaning out her closet after undergoing weight-loss surgery.
Bader, 30, took to Instagram on Sunday, April 6, to show off her bikini body and share that sheβs clearing out her wardrobe. βI think Iβve been a little β not a little β Iβve been completely in denial about what my size is for a long time so I need to get rid of a lot of things in my closet and also get new things,β she said while rocking a navy blue bikini with a floral on her bust and bottoms.
βI donβt even have underwear that fits me normally at this point,β she continued.
Bader also noted that she has not had a skin removal surgery because she wants to see where her body βends up.β
She then zoomed the camera into her torso. βThese are my stretch marks from prior,β she said, also showing her scars from the procedure called a single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S).
The influencer continued, βI feel like a lot of my weight went to my stomach, so I do have loose skin. No skin removal surgery here, but there is nothing against it.β

βThis is my body,β she said while spinning around.
Last month, Bader revealed she underwent weight loss surgery β which connects the stomach to the lower small intestine, ensuring βless time and distance for the body to absorb fat and calories,β per the Mayo Clinic β after fans were questioning if she was on Ozempic.
During a podcast episode of βCall Her Daddy,β Bader again discussed her new body, sharing, βI never wanted to be this size. Iβm probably the only person thatβs ever gone to a doctor for weight loss to be like, βOK, but can I still be curvy?β Itβs really confusing to be so quickly in a different body but have the exact same brain.β
