Judi Dench, 90, says she's never been good at going out on her own
- Dame Judi Dench, 90, says she doesn't enjoy attending events alone.
- "I'm not good at that at all, nor would I be now," the Oscar-winning actor said on a podcast.
- But these days, her deteriorating eyesight means she doesn't go out alone anymore, she added.
Dame Judi Dench, 90, isn't a fan of going to events on her own.
"I'm not good at that at all, nor would I be now," the Oscar-winning actor said during an appearance on the "Fearless" podcast hosted by Trinny Woodall.
"I'm always nervous before going to something. I am nervous about β I don't know β I have no idea why," Dench said.
The "James Bond" star said she usually needs to have a partner β such as her agent β accompany her.
"Somebody will always be with me," Dench said. "I have to now because I can't see, and I will walk into something or fall over."
In 2012, she told The Mirror that she had been diagnosed with macular degeneration, a disease that affects a person's central vision. It is the leading cause of vision loss among Americans 65 and older, per the CDC.
But "fortunately," she doesn't have to go out alone now "because I pretend to have no eyesight," she said.
In 2023, Dench said on "The Graham Norton Show" that her vision had gotten so bad she couldn't read scripts anymore.
"It has become impossible, and because I have a photographic memory, I need to find a machine that not only teaches me my lines but also tells me where they appear on the page," Dench said. "I used to find it very easy to learn lines and remember them."
Dench has been with her partner, conservationist David Mills, since 2010. She shares one daughter, Finty Williams, with her late husband, the actor Michael Williams, who died of lung cancer in 2001.
Despite a career spanning almost seven decades, Dench has hinted at retirement due to her worsening vision.
When asked by a reporter in 2024 if she had any plans for future roles, Dench responded with "No, no, I can't even see," per The Guardian.
Her last onscreen role was in 2022's "Spirited," per her IMDB page.
She previously told The Mirror in 2023 that she wanted to work "as much as I can."
"I have an irrational fear of boredom," she said. "That's why I now have this tattoo that says carpe diem. That's what we should live by."
A representative for Dench did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours.

'Love Is Blind' Stars Ashley and Tyler Split After Sperm Donor Drama
Love Is Blind season 7 alum Ashley Adionser has split from husband Tyler Francis after one year of marriage.
βAfter much reflection, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage,β Adionser, 32, said in a statement to People on Tuesday, January 21. βWhile I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage.β
Adionser added that the decision to call it quits was not an easy one, but clarified that it was βnecessary.β
βThis was not a decision I made lightly, but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace,β she continued. βWhile this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared. I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support.β
Love Is Blindβs Ashley Got Apology DM From Woman Tyler Donated Sperm To
During their season of Love Is Blind, which aired in October 2024, Adionser and Francis connected β and got engaged β in the pods. After meeting face-to-face for the first time, Adionser received her engagement ring and the pair took off on a getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
After their romantic trip, Adionser and Francis moved in together in Washington D.C. for a βtrial marriage.β It was then that Francis revealed he had fathered multiple children. According to the military veteran, he donated sperm to a friend who could not have biological children.
βYouβve been running around here talking about how weβre getting married, but youβve also been running around saying how you want to have kids now. And itβs like, βWhoa,ββ Adionser said in an October 2024 episode. βHow did you, like, even talk about any of that? I just canβt wrap my mind around it without even considering your past at all?β
'Love Is Blind' Stars Ashley and Tyler's Relationship Timeline
Despite Adionser being upset that Francis kept that information away from her at first, the twosome ultimately walked down the aisle and said βI do.β Adionser later revealed that the childrenβs birth mother reached out to her to apologize.
βI will say she wrote me on Instagram and apologized to me and Tyler. [She] said sheβs praying for us and she never meant for it to go this way. She wonβt say too much on this forum,β she recalled on a November 2024 episode of βThe Viall Filesβ podcast. βShe also wrote me and said it was OK if I never wanted to respond and she knows my world is crazy right now and she never intentionally meant to cause me any pain.β
Blake Lively Breaks Silence on Justin Baldoni 'It Ends With Us' Footage
Blake Livelyβs legal team has responded to the new It Ends With Us video footage released by Justin Baldoniβs attorney.
βJustin Baldoni and his lawyer may hope that this latest stunt will get ahead of the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint,β Livelyβs legal team said in a statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 21. βThe video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character.β
The statement continued: βEvery moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Livelyβs costar, but the director, the head of [the] studio and Ms. Livelyβs boss.β
The message also noted that in the clip Lively, 37, was βleaning away and repeatedly asking for the characters to just talk.β
Justin Baldoni Lawyer Releases On-Set Video to Try to Disprove Blake Lively: Watch
βAny woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Livelyβs discomfort,β the statement concluded. βThey will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent.β
Livelyβs legal team also slammed Baldoni, 40, β who also directed the film β and his legal time for releasing the video to the public rather than keeping it in court.
βThis matter is in active litigation in federal court. Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public,β the statement read. βIt is also a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign. While they are focused on misleading media narratives, we are focused on the legal process. We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.β
In response to the most recent statement and claims from Livelyβs legal team regarding the footage, Baldoniβs lawyer Bryan Freedman told Us, βPrior to filing her lawsuit in court, Ms. Lively went to The New York Times in an effort to publicly destroy Justin Baldoni. When Mr. Baldoni exercises his right to publicly defend himself by putting forth actual facts and evidence, for Ms. Lively and team this instantly becomes morally and ethically wrong. Ms. Lively wants very different standards to apply to her but fortunately, truth and authenticity apply to everyone and can never be wrong. Looking at the video and the evidence to come, I can understand why Ms. Lively would now, not want this to play out in public.
The footage, which was obtained by UsΒ earlier on Tuesday, features the costars romantically slow dancing and laughing in character for a montage with no dialogue during the film. The duo could, however, be heard exchanging ideas for the scene as they swayed back and forth.
βMs. Livelyβs complaint alleges that during a scene Mr. Baldoni and Ms. Lively were filming for a slow dance montage, Mr. Baldoni was behaving inappropriately,β a statement at the start of the video read. βThe following videos captured on May 23, 2023, clearly refute Ms. Livelyβs characterization of his behavior. The scene in question was designed to show the two characters falling in love and longing to be close to one another. Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism. These are all three takes filmed of the sequence.β
Justin Baldoni Claims Blake Lively 'Kicked' Him Out of 'It Ends With Us'
In addition to releasing the video footage, Baldoniβs lawyer also shared plans to create a website that will include βrelevant videosβ and βcorrespondenceβ between Baldoni and Lively.
βJustin and team have the right to defend themselves with the truth,β Freedmanβs statement read. βAnd this is what we will be continuing to show with the upcoming website containing all correspondence as well as relevant videos that directly quash her claims.β
Lively and Baldoniβs ongoing legal drama began last month when she filed a lawsuit against the director. In her filing, Lively claimed that Baldoni sexually harassed her and created a hostile work environment while on set of It Ends With Us.
Baldoni, for his part, has vehemently denied the allegations. He subsequently sued the New York Times for $250 million following the outletβs reporting of Livelyβs claims against him.
Justin Baldoni Never Wanted to 'Hurt' Blake Lively, Lawyer Says
Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios also filed a lawsuit last month directly against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Livelyβs publicist, Leslie Sloane, seeking $400 million in damages. In the paperwork, Baldoni accused the group of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy and more.
After news broke of Baldoniβs legal filing, Lively broke her silence with a statement via her legal team.
βThis latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook. This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender,β the message read. βWayfarer has opted to use the resources of its billionaire co-founder to issue media statements, launch meritless lawsuits, and threaten litigation to overwhelm the publicβs ability to understand that what they are doing is retaliation against sexual harassment allegations.β

βMob Wivesβ Star Natalie DiDonato Reported Missing in Las Vegas
Mob Wives alum Natalie DiDonato has been reported missing in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 21, that a missing person report has been filed for the reality star. TMZ was the first to report the news.
According to the outlet, the TV personality missed two separate flights β including a January 5 plane ride home to Florida β sparking concern among DiDonatoβs family members.
DiDonatoβs mother, Denise Fuoco, last spoke to the South Florida resident on Tuesday, January 14, during a FaceTime call.

Fuoco told TMZ the conversation was brief β DiDonato allegedly rushed to end the phone call without clarifying where she was.
After failing to get in contact with her daughter over the next few days, Fuoco contacted police.
According to Fuoco, the last update she received was from a friend of DiDonatoβs named Ben, who alleged the Mob Wives star was in Las Vegas. Ben claimed the reality TV star asked for money in order to obtain a plane ticket to Florida.
Fuoco told TMZ Ben purchased a ticket for DiDonato, but she never made the flight to Florida.
Us Weekly has reached out to DiDonatoβs team for additional comment.
In her last social media post before her reported disappearance, DiDonato reflected on her mindset as 2024 came to an end.
βNot bad for 44 I love me some me,β she wrote via Instagram in December 2024. β44 sitting on 24βs still. (itβs not my bdayβ¦Iβm just feelin myself, dropped 10 lbsβ¦hit that goal weight) .β
In her post, DiDonato said she couldnβt βbelieve I made it this far.β
βGetting older is a blessing,β she added. βIβm embracing my age because to me itβs a badge of honor to have made it to 44.β
In another post, DiDonato documented her experience at a gun range. βIf you stay readyβ¦you never have to get ready,β she shared via Instagram in June 2024. β(Itβs been awhileβ¦not so bad for itβs being some time, practice makes perfect) #newtoys.β

During the show, DiDonato feuded with Natalie Guercio after accusing her of being a βrat.β She also questioned Drita DβAvanzoβs integrity in a particularly memorable clip.
βI like her. I think sheβs a cool chick,β she said in a confessional. βI just want to know what the fβ is going on in her mind.β

βThe Price Is Right' Announcer George Gray Files for Divorce After 5 Years
The Price Is Right announcer George Gray and wife Brittney Green have called it quits after five years of marriage.
Gray, 57, filed for divorce on Tuesday, January 21, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. The pair were married more than five years before parting ways. They do not share any children. (TMZ was first to report the news.)
The former talk show host listed the pairβs date of separation as August 1, 2024, citing βirreconcilable differencesβ as the reason for their split.
Gray and Green β a high school math teacher βΒ tied the knot in April 2019 at The Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona. Grayβs brother officiated the ceremony.
Failed Reality TV Romances Over the Years
A year into their marriage, Gray had a near-death experience when he suffered a heart attack in April 2020. βThis was [like] tons of bricks hit me. Turns out I was 100 percent blocked on the right side of my heart,β Gray told Entertainment Tonight five months after his first surgery.
He was rushed to the hospital and underwent two emergency surgeries to clear the blocked arteries. While Gray was preparing for his necessary open-heart surgery, he suffered another heart attack.
βSo I have stints and a quadruple bypass on top of that,β Gray recalled.

Although Gray was the one experiencing multiple surgeries, his spouse was equally worried about his life expectancy.
βAfter the second [heart attack] I thought he was gone in surgery,β Green told ET in 2020. βI was like, βSomething could happen.ββ
Five months later, Gray returned to work at The Price Is Right as an announcer, celebrating a decade on the game show team. Gray was a guest announcer in 2010 before becoming the full-time announcer in 2015 during season 44.

Gray also works as the announcer for The Price Is Right at Night. He previously hosted The Weakest Link, HGTV Showdown and Gimme My Reality Show!
While Green was by Grayβs side in his time of need, their marriage has seemingly dwindled. Gray last posted about his estranged wife on social media in April 2024.
At the time, he shared a video from The Price Is Right set and gave the band Grouplove a shout-out after attending one of their shows with Green earlier that month.

Gray proceeded to invite the band to The Price Is Right set since they revealed that the game show was at the top of their must-watch list. βYou rock,β he concluded.
Green, meanwhile, has a private Instagram account. She still has a link to Grayβs heart attack and recovery story from ET linked in her bio.
