Jalen Milroe, Dillon Gabriel both taken ahead of Shedeur Sanders in unprecedented NFL Draft slide
After once being in the conversation to go top-five overall, Shedeur Sanders is not even a top-five quarterback taken.
Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart were first-round selections, but the New Orleans Saints took Tyler Shough with the 40th pick.
The Seattle Seahawks had the 92nd pick, and they pulled off a stunner by taking Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Three picks later, the Cleveland Browns, who had plenty of chances to take Sanders, went with Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
The Seahawks traded Geno Smith to the Raiders earlier this offseason and brought in Sam Darnold on a three-year, $100 million.
Milroe isn't very known for his arm, but some scouts say he has some of the best raw athleticism of any quarterback in the NFL Draft.
Gabriel, meanwhile, transferred to Oregon for his final year of NCAA eligibility, and the Ducks were the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. But, they lost to Ohio State, who won the national championship.

That's now five quarterbacks taken ahead of Sanders, who continues to fall.
The Colorado quarterback said on Thursday night after round one that he "didn't expect" to fall into night two of the draft, so one can only imagine what is going through his mind right now.
Milroe threw for 5,678 yards and ran for 1,257 in his last two years at Alabama. He led his squad to the Rose Bowl after winning the SEC championship in the 2023 season, but they lost to the eventual national champions in Michigan.
Gabriel finished in third place in the Heisman Trophy vote this past season, leading the Big Ten in both completions and attempts. He threw for 3,857 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Quinn Ewers is also waiting on his name to be called - which would be as big a shock as anything.

Trump says if the US still has high tariffs a year from now, it would be a 'total victory'

- Trump considers high tariffs a "total victory" if they remain in place next year.
- He believes tariffs will encourage US production and reduce trade deficits with other countries.
- Despite claims of trade talks, China denies ongoing negotiations with the US.
President Donald Trump said if the US still has high tariffs on foreign imports a year from now, he would consider it a "total victory."
Trump made the comment in an interview with "Time" magazine published Friday about the first 100 days of his term, which he will reach on April 30. The interview took place at the White House on Tuesday.
During the interview, which was conducted by senior political correspondent Eric Cortellessa and editor in chief Sam Jacobs, "Time" asked the president if he'd consider it a victory if "high tariffs, whether it's 20% or 30% or 50%," were still in place in a year.
"Total victory," Trump replied, adding, "Because the country will be making a fortune."
Trump said that having zero tariffs "would be easy" but that it would not incentivize companies to produce their goods in the US.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Trump has said his sweeping tariff policy would encourage companies to build and invest in the US. The tariffs currently include a universal 10% tariff on most countries and a 145% tariff on China. Higher tariffs on other countries are currently under a 90-day pause that Trump announced earlier this month.
Trump's tariff announcement on April 2 tanked stock prices and financial markets around the world. Though there's been some recovery, markets have remained volatile as the uncertainty around tariffs continues.
Trump has said he wants to lower or eliminate US trade deficits with other countries and that he has been in talks with leaders around the world to strike deals on trade. He has also said Americans could feel "short-term" pain as a result of tariffs.
On Tuesday, the same day Trump gave the interview to Time, he told reporters at the White House that tariffs on China would "come down substantially," but not to zero.
Markets also reacted positively on Wednesday after The Wall Street Journal reported Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said there was an "opportunity" for a big trade deal with China.
But Chinese officials on Thursday denied Trump's claim that China and the US were in talks on a trade deal.
Trump also told "Time" he has made 200 trade deals, though as of Friday none had been announced.
He declined to elaborate on the deals when asked, but said they would be finished "over the next three to four weeks."

‘1000-lb Sisters’ Preview: See Amy Slaton Get Bit by a Camel During Zoo Outing
Amy Slaton’s traumatic zoo experience — including her camel bite — was caught on camera for an upcoming episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters.
Us Weekly has an exclusive first look at the Tuesday, April 29, episode, where Amy, 37, was attacked while driving through the Tennessee Safari Park.
“This zoo is a family safe zoo. You just drive through,” Amy tells the cameras in the preview, noting, “You don’t get out of your cars or anything like that. You keep the kids buckled in.”
She reveals that she and boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvorn bought 12 buckets of food for the animals to feed them during the outing.

“The boys are having fun. There’s food all over the truck and it’s just a perfect day,” Amy gushes while feeding an ostrich and a llama from the passenger side of the car.
The video then shows a camel approaching her window and sticking its head in to grab food. “He leaked on me!” Amy yells after the animal spit on her leg.
As Amy leans forward to clean off, the camera pans to the other side of the car. “Ow, ow, ow!” Amy screams as the video flips back to show the camel biting her arm.
1000-Lb. Sisters’ Amy Slaton Went to the ER for Camel Bite Before Arrest
The camel appears to have a very tight grip as Amy continues to yell out in pain. “F***, the camel just bit me,” she says. “He got me good.”
Us previously confirmed that in September 2024 Amy needed a stretcher after she said she was bitten by a camel at the wildlife and safari park. Police later confirmed that a zoo employee called 911 after the incident and Amy was taken to the emergency room to tend to her injury.
After receiving medical care and being discharged by the ER, Amy and Brian were both arrested on “illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment,” according to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s department, when officers arrived on scene for Amy’s camel bite, “Deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the police said in a statement shared via Facebook. Authorities presumed that the pair had mushrooms and marijuana in their possession.
Amy and Brian were released on bond the following day. Because Amy’s sons, Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, were in the car during the arrest a Department of Children and Family Services investigation was also opened. (Amy shares her two children with ex-husband Michael Halterman.)
'1,000-Lb. Sisters' Sneak Peek: Amanda Worries About Amy's Love Life
In October 2024, Amy shared photos of her boys at home dressed in Halloween pajamas. Two months later, she pleaded guilty to “simple possession” in a plea deal submitted to the Crockett County courthouse in December 2024.
According to court docs obtained by Us, Amy received a suspended sentence of 11 months and 29 days to time served and therefore won’t spend any time behind bars. She had to pay a $500 fine and attend an alcohol and drug assessment. Additionally, she cannot have any contact with the Tennessee Safari Park.
Amy’s additional charges of child abuse and child endangerment were dismissed, per the filing.
1000-Lb. Sisters airs on TLC Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.

Brooks Nader Laughs Off a Red Carpet Nip Slip in Sexy Dress: See the Pics
Brooks Nader laughed off a wardrobe malfunction.
Nader, 29, suffered a fashion faux pas on the red carpet at the Daily Front Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday, April 24. As she posed for photographers, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model tugged at the side of her barely there dress, featuring cutouts and a completely open back that plunged to her derriere before cascading into a flowy skirt.
As she adjusted the top of her look, which was designed to show off a little side boob, Nader’s nipple slipped out. She quickly laughed off the moment and grabbed her chest to cover up.
Nader teamed the ultra-sexy look with statement jet-black earrings, which coordinated with the bow detail on her waist. She had a full beat, including dewy skin, manicured eyebrows, bronzed cheeks and long, flirty lashes.
Brooks Nader Wows in Sheer Dress on Date Night With Gleb Savchenko
She finished her look with lined, pink lips. The season 33 Dancing With the Stars competitor styled her bronde hair in a half-up coif, with her crown pulled back into a slicked-back ponytail.

This isn’t the first time Nader has put her, ahem, assets on full display. While out and about with her ex, DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko, she rocked a completely see-through top and pinstripe midi skirt that left very little to the imagination.

Nader also isn’t the only celebrity who is a proponent of freeing the nipple, which went from a feminist movement to a full-on fashion trend.
Back in 2014, Rihanna (who all but originated the naked dress) famously told Vogue, “If I’m wearing a top, I don’t wear a bra. If I’m wearing a bra, I just wear a bra.”

That same year, the singer showcased her enviable figure in a shockingly sheer custom Adam Selman dress, covered with 230,000 Swarovski crystals, at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York, where she won Fashion Icon of the Year.

Rihanna, now 37, styled her sultry look with a headscarf and opera-length gloves in the same glittering finish, then topped it off with a pink fur stole. Talk about a must-see moment.

Rickea Jackson and James Pearce Were the NFL Draft’s Surprise Couple
Los Angeles Sparks star Rickea Jackson and new Atlanta Falcons rookie James Pearce appeared to hard-launch their relationship on NFL Draft night.
Pearce, 21, went to the Falcons with the 26th overall pick in the draft, the first round of which played out Thursday, April 24.
When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement, ESPN’s cameras cut to Pearce’s draft party. Pearce took plenty of hugs and congratulations from friends and family sitting around him, including from Jackson, 24, who was seated by his side and clad in a black dress.
Pearce attended the University of Tennessee with Jackson, who played the last two years of her college career with the Vols after starting at Mississippi State.
Celeb Wives and Girlfriends of NFL Players Past and Present
As social media lit up with WNBA fans reacting to Jackson’s NFL Draft cameo, the second-year Spark took to X to have some fun with them.
“Soooo I have a doppelganger. Wow,” she posted late Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the fans watching from home couldn’t get enough.
“Look at Rickea,” wrote one fan via X. “This why James BEEN the man lowkey lol.”
“Go ahead and trade Rickea to the Atlanta Dream too,” said another, referring to the WNBA team.

As another fan pointed out, the Falcons acquired their pick in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. If the Rams had hung onto their pick and used it on Pearce, he would be able to play in the same city as his apparent girlfriend.
A potential romance between Jackson and Pearce has been rumored for over a year, dating back to their shared college days. Pearce was there when the Sparks drafted Jackson at the 2024 WNBA Draft and even shared video of her selection that night via his Instagram Story.
Jackson and Pearce aren’t the only WNBA-NFL couple. New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is married to center Hroniss Grasu, who played for six different NFL teams in his career. They both attended the University of Oregon and share a Romanian background.
Jackson’s new teammate, Kelsey Plum, joined the Sparks this offseason and was married to Darren Waller, a former member of the New York Giants from 2023 to 2024. Meanwhile, Washington Mystics rookie Sonia Citron is in a relationship with a fellow Notre Dame alum, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Marist Liufau.
Looking ahead, the Sparks make only one trip to Atlanta to face the Dream, but it’s for two games. We’ll see whether Pearce shows up to either contest on September 3 or 5.

- Shedeur Sanders prank-called during NFL Draft slide by imposter: 'Have to wait a little longer'
Shedeur Sanders prank-called during NFL Draft slide by imposter: 'Have to wait a little longer'
The emotional roller coaster for Shedeur Sanders plunged even harder during the second day of the NFL Draft.
After falling to the third round and getting passed on in favor of two other quarterbacks projected to go much later than Sanders, he fell victim to an ill-timed prank call as the world watched.
While he and his family live-streamed day two of their NFL Draft party on Twitch Friday night, Sanders was seen answering a phone call that he assumed was from a general manager making the decision to draft him.
The 23-year-old quarterback had a big smile on his face as he answered and greeted the caller, with friends and family crowding around him.
"I'm good, been waiting on you," he said.
But the imposter on the other side told the eager young athlete that he would "have to wait a little longer," as Sanders' smile quickly faded.
GET FULL 2025 NFL DRAFT COVERAGE WITH REAL-TIME PICKS, EXPERT ANALYSIS AND CAN'T-MISS MOMENTS
After the call ended, the crowd around Sanders broke out into concerned conversation, as he glared at his phone.
Sanders has since ended his Twitch stream.
Sanders' draft slide has been the biggest and most controversial storyline of this year's draft.
After fellow quarterback Cam Ward out of Miami was selected with the first overall pick on Thursday, experts assumed Sanders would follow soon after as the second quarterback taken. But instead, Jaxson Dart was taken by the Giants late in the first round Tyler Shough was taken by the Saints early in the second.
Both Dart and Shough were projected to go much later than Sanders by scouts and analysts.
At one point during the quarterback's slide on Thursday, his other brother, NFL safety prospect Shilo Sanders, insisted "something is going on" with Shedeur not being selected, as seen in footage posted by their other brother, Deion Sanders Jr.
"Bro, if they don't take you right now, it's something going on," Shilo said. "If they don't take him right now, it's something going on. I don't know what's going on, but it's something."
NFL DRAFT QUARTERBACK MISTAKES THAT SHAPED LEAGUE LANDSCAPE
In additional footage posted by Deion Jr. Thursday night, Shedeur addressed not being taken in a speech to his family when the first night of the draft was over.
"We all didn't expect this, of course, but I feel like with God, anything possible, everything possible. I don't feel like this happened for no reason. All of this is, of course, fuel to the fire. Under no circumstances did we all know this was going to happen, but we understand we on to bigger and better things," the quarterback said.
"Tomorrow's the day. We going to be happy regardless. Legendary."
President Donald Trump even joined in on the debate on Friday, when he ripped "stupid" NFL owners for passing on the star Colorado quarterback and allowing him to fall into the second round.
"What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
"He should be "picked" IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!"
Former Democratic U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman joined the debate Friday, suggesting Sanders slid because "America continues to fear strong black men."
"The NFL doesn’t like [Shedeur] Sanders because he wears gold chains and talks like a rapper. They don’t care that he’s a leader, intelligent, tough and completed 77% of his passes with no O-line and no running game. He’s entitled but Eli Manning wasn’t entitled when he refused to be drafted by San Diego?" Bowman wrote on X.
