The family’s first reality series, 19 Kids and Counting, quickly became one of the most popular shows on TLC from 2008 to 2015. They later returned for a spinoff, Counting On, which ran for 11 seasons before the network canceled it in June 2021.
Due to their conservative Christian background, the family enforces a number of strict rules when it comes to courting. Kissing, hand-holding and other physical markers of affection aren’t allowed until a couple’s wedding day. Early in the courtship process, partners must have a chaperone present on their dates. For many of the Duggar daughters, their brothers have been by their sides when getting to know their suitors.
“Having that accountability really keeps things from going in the wrong direction,” Jim Bob told Today in 2014.

“Jeanne is very mature for her age. She’s quirky, smart and loves history, reading; she’s a really great and well-rounded person,” a source explained. “She and Jake really took things slow, but are now pretty serious.”
The private couple have only made a handful of public appearances together — and have kept their romance largely off of social media. Before falling for the French model, Gyllenhaal gave some insight into his approach toward dating in the spotlight.
“I think when you’re in a relationship, you are constantly scrutinized, your friends are scrutinized, but … I would love to not talk about my personal life,” he said in a 2017 interview with The Guardian.
Over the years, the Brokeback Mountain star has sparked his fair share of high-profile relationships. He was linked to Reese Witherspoon and Kirsten Dunst, before dating Taylor Swift for three months in 2010. The whirlwind romance was allegedly the inspiration for the Grammy winner’s fourth record, Red, and its devastating breakup track “All Too Well.”
Though the Southpaw star tends to keep his love life under wraps, he’s frequently spoken out about his desire to start a family someday.
“I’m not someone who has ever existed in a space where I’ve really known what’s coming next. But you do have to be open to it,” he told British Vogue in May 2020.
At the time, Gyllenhaal didn’t mention his girlfriend by name, but he explained that he’d “lightened up” over the course of his Hollywood career.
“I’m interested in my life, even more so than my work. I’ve reached a point in my career where I feel hungry in a different way. I’ve seen how much of my life I’ve neglected as a result of being committed to that work and that idea,” the October Sky actor added. “[I’m] seeing life as something that is, you know, fleeting, and the world being as it is now.”
Three years prior, the Broadway performer gushed over his nieces, Ramona and Gloria, who his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, shares with husband Peter Sarsgaard.
“My sister has raised two extraordinary daughters,” Jake told Us exclusively in September 2017. “They are so well-behaved and they are so thoughtful and so observant of the world around them. I’m so proud of not only them but my sister as a mother. When they come to me, I get two great girls, [but] at the end of the day there are times where it’s not bad to hand them back.”
At the time, the Nocturnal Animals actor said he loved his role as the girls’ “fun uncle,” adding, “When I’m with them, all I can think about is what incredible work my sister has put in and what a good mother she is with all the things she has on her plate already. With her extraordinary talent and everything she does there, it says a lot about her and it says a lot about her husband. Fully devoted to their family.”

Jay-Z filed a new motion to dismiss the lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl more than 20 years ago, requesting to impose sanctions on the accuser’s lawyer.
The 55-year-old rapper filed the new motion on Wednesday, January 8, after being granted permission to do so by United States District Judge Analisa Torres. In court docs obtained by Variety and Rolling Stone, Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro points to a December 2024 interview with NBC News wherein the Jane Doe accuser admitted to making “some mistakes” within her claims.
Spiro argued that the woman’s attorney Tony Buzbee — who Jay-Z previously accused of defamation and extortion — is claiming Jay-Z committed “a horrific crime without adequately vetting the allegation.”
Referring to alleged inconsistencies in her recounting of the incident, the filing continues, “By any objective measure, the fact that nearly every step in Plaintiff’s narrative — from her arrival at the VMAs to her interactions with the limousine driver and celebrities to the ride with her father — turns out to be false or highly unlikely casts considerable doubt on Plaintiff’s allegation that Mr. Carter raped her, which he did not.”
The motion also requests monetary sanctions against Buzbee and the Buzbee Law Firm for “alleging facts without a sufficient investigation.”
According to Spiro, “If lawyers do not face consequences for such a cavalier effort to destroy another person’s reputation and inflict emotional harm on his loved ones, that tactic will proliferate.”
Buzbee insisted in a statement to Rolling Stone that he would not be “bullied or intimidated” by the “desperation” of Jay-Z’s attorneys.
“He and his team think the laws and rules don’t apply to them. They are flat wrong,” the statement continued. “They also think they can bully or intimidate counsel for victims by filing meritless and frivolous pleadings full of lies and half-truths. Again, they are dead wrong. … We will address the utter lack of merit with his filing with the Court, rather than with the press.”
News broke in December 2024 that Jay-Z was accused of rape in a civil lawsuit alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs. When the suit was initially filed in October 2024, Diddy, 55, was the only defendant listed. The accusations were refiled to include Jay-Z.
According to the accuser, the incident took place at an afterparty for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z has repeatedly denied the allegations against him, previously calling out the “blackmail attempt” in a lengthy statement. (Diddy, meanwhile, remains incarcerated after pleading not guilty to federal sex trafficking charges last year.)
Judge Torres previously granted Jay-Z permission to file a motion to dismiss the case against him by February 6. The accuser’s attorneys are able to file opposition papers by February 28, giving Jay-Z the chance to respond by March 14. (The judge has also condemned Spiro’s “relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks” on Buzbee throughout the legal drama.)
Despite the efforts of Jay-Z’s lawyers to throw out the case, Jane Doe has stood by her claims. “Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me,” she told NBC News in December.

Meghan Markle has faced plenty of challenges since marrying into the British royal family — but she hasn’t let them dim her light.
The former Suits star fell into a whirlwind romance with Prince Harry in 2016, and by November 2017, the pair were engaged. During a candid interview with the BBC shortly after their engagement made headlines, Meghan and her then-fiancé opened up about the extreme negativity they’d been subject to while living in the public eye.
“Of course, it’s disheartening,” Meghan said at the time. “You know, it’s a shame that that is the climate in this world … but I think at the end of the day, I’m really just proud of who I am and where I come from, and we have never put any focus on that. We’ve just focused on who we are as a couple. And so, when you take all those extra layers away and all of that noise, I think it makes it really easy to just enjoy being together and tune all the rest of that out.”
Eventually, the stresses of royal life became too much. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their senior roles within the palace in January 2020, and three months later, settled down in Los Angeles with their son. In July 2020, the family of three relocated to the quieter Montecito neighborhood of Santa Barbara, California. Meghan and Harry continued to put down roots in California as they expanded their family with daughter Lilibet whom they welcomed in June 2021.
Scroll down to relive some of Meghan’s most honest quotes about the struggles of royal life, motherhood and more.

The twosome hope to have “a big family” someday, according to the source, but they aren’t in a rush to give Jack a sibling. “[It’s] up to God’s plan,” the insider tells Us. So You Think Can Dance alum Allison Holker is opening up about the “triggering” discovery she made following late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ death. In a new interview with People, Holker, 36, revealed she found a “cornucopia” of drugs in Boss’ closet, including mushrooms and “other substances I had to look up on my phone.” Holker admitted that “it was a really scary moment” to uncover things she “did not know existed” in her own home. “It also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much,” she added, “and there must have been a lot of shame in that.” Boss died by suicide at age 40 in December 2022, shortly after he and Holker celebrated nine years of marriage. The couple shared daughter Zaia, 5, and son Maddox, 8, and Boss was the adoptive father of Holker’s eldest daughter, Weslie, 16. Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged, a source confirms to Us Weekly. Rumors began to swirl about a possible proposal following Zendaya’s appearance at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 5. Though Holland, 28, did not accompany his now-fiancée on the red carpet, fans spotted a diamond ring adorning Zendaya’s left hand. According to a Los Angeles Times report from inside the venue, the actress, also 28, “smiled coyly and shrugged her shoulders mysteriously” when asked whether the rock was an engagement ring. Zendaya and Holland met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, with Us confirming their relationship the following year. While attending the 2025 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5, the 25-year-old exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her post-breakup state of mind. “I’m doing well,” she told Us. “I feel like myself again.”
When it comes to moving on from her rocky relationship with the country singer, 28, LaPaglia isn’t in a rush. “Dating looks like a dark hole that I don’t want to jump into,” she joked, revealing that she made a wager with her “BFFs” podcast cohost Josh Richards about her love life. “We made a bet … I’m not allowed to have a boyfriend until summer. June 21st. [Josh] doesn’t think I can do it. I think I can do it. No boyfriends.”
LaPaglia insisted that she’s “not looking for anyone” right now, but she has an idea of the qualities she’d want in a future partner. “Height, hair, kindness,” she told Us.
Bryan announced in October 2024 that he and LaPaglia called it quits after more than a year of dating. At the time, the Barstool Sports personality claimed that she was “blindsided” by him going public with the split news. Following a brief social media break, LaPaglia shared insight into her relationship with Bryan on a bombshell episode of her “BFFs” podcast in November 2024, claiming she was “emotionally abused” by the musician. (Us reached out to Bryan’s team at the time and received no response.)
While opening up about her experience, LaPaglia reflected on attending the 2024 Golden Globes in a dress that Bryan allegedly disapproved of. The gown hugged her figure and featured a dramatic leg slit, which she claimed didn’t sit well with Bryan.
“He said he didn’t want to date someone that presents themselves that way,” she said on the podcast. “He ruined my night. Everything good, anything good I did for me, he made sure to ruin it for me.”
LaPaglia attended last year’s awards show with her then-friend Grace O’Malley. On Sunday night, she rocked the red carpet solo in a low-cut gown with a sculptural neckline. (“I wanted to go a little Gladiator,” she told Us of the inspiration behind her look.)
Returning to the Golden Globes felt like a milestone moment in LaPaglia’s healing journey. “Last year I was in a bad spot when I was here and now I’m in a good spot and I’m just excited to be here,” she gushed. “I’m like, ‘Where’s the champagne?’ Let me have some fun. … I’m just excited to be me again.”
Awards season got off to an early start as the 82nd annual Golden Globes celebrated the best performances in TV and film on Sunday, January 5.
When nominations were announced in December 2024, Emilia Pérez made Golden Globes history as the most-nominated film in the comedy or musical categories, earning a total of 10 nods. The Brutalist and Conclave followed with seven and six nominations, respectively.
On the TV side, The Bear led the pack with five nods, continuing the debate of whether the series is truly a comedy. (For some of Us, the answer is a clear yes.) Shōgun and Only Murders in the Building were each recognized four times. The former won in all of its categories, while the latter walked away empty-handed.
With roles in both OMITB and Emilia Pérez, Selena Gomez received the rare honor of being nominated in film and television categories in the same year. She faced off against costar Zoe Saldaña, Wicked’s Ariana Grande and more for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Film and was bested by Hacks star Jean Smart in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy category.
“I don’t even know what to write,” Gomez gushed via her Instagram Story last month. “I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I am so grateful and honored @goldenglobes.”

Bradley Cooperstarted off as a struggling actor from humble beginnings, but he quickly transformed into one of Hollywood’s hottest household names.
Before racking up awards, Cooper worked his way up from guest-starring roles on some of the most well-known television series of the early 2000s. In 2001, Cooper found a steadier position on ABC’s cult classic Alias.
It was around this same time that Cooper started to realize he was abusing alcohol and other substances to cope with life as a struggling actor. Cooper made a promise to himself in 2004 to stay sober after a night of heavy partying landed him in the hospital.
From that moment on, Cooper was primed for success and earned his first Oscar nomination in 2013. Cooper doesn’t let his busy career distract him from his daughter, Lea, whom he shares with ex Irina Shayk.
“They share a balanced schedule with their daughter, which also varies based on their work obligations,” a source exclusively told Us Weeklyof the former couple in February 2021. “There have been no arguments about Lea’s schedule. Bradley usually is busier and has back-to-back films lined up, but he makes sure he spends a lot of time with Lea.”
Scroll down to learn more about Cooper’s rise to Hollywood stardom:
Following her theatrical debut in the original 1968 production of Broadway’s Hair, Keaton turned to film. Her first role was in 1970’s Lovers and Other Strangers, two years before she got her big break in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather.
“I always thought I was the most outsider, weird person in the movie, and ‘Why was I cast in it?’ and I had no voice,” Keaton said of her character, Kay Adams, while celebrating the original movie’s 45th anniversary at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. “But then I had a couple of good scenes with Al [Pacino].”
At the time, the Oscar winner confessed that she hadn’t seen the iconic mafia movie in nearly three decades. “I saw it on my computer. I hadn’t seen it for I think about 30 years,” she said. “And … I just remember all the people, I couldn’t handle it, it was so astonishing, it was so beautiful, and everybody is so great in it, and the music, and every choice [Coppola] made.”
Keaton went on to appear in the franchise’s 1974 sequel and 1990 follow-up. While her dramatic turns are award-worthy, fans also love the Then Again author’s comedic timing in Annie Hall, Father of the Bride, The Family Stone and more.
“Diane, of course, she was kind of our leader on the movie,” Family Stone costar Luke Wilson exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2021. “She would never say that but everyone was so admiring of her.”
Scroll down for a look back at Keaton’s most memorable roles through the years:
Some things will always be “for the girls,” but with the way male celebrities have been acting on the internet — and in some cases, in front of the cameras — petty drama isn’t one of them.
In the words of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks herself, we can go there with the husbands. Season 5 of the series got off to an icy start for longtime snowflake holders Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose, who clashed at Angie Katsanevas’ wedding anniversary party. What began as just another “she said, she said” argument between costars made Us reach for our popcorn (and pour a shot of Vida Tequila) when the husbands stepped in to defend their spouses. Justin Rose told security at the party to get John Barlow “the f— away from” him, threatening to “pound his ass.”
According to Heather Gay, the RHOSLC husbands had “never” tried to fight their wives’ battles on camera before — but Justin vs. John wasn’t even the only confrontation to be featured this season. Shawn Trujillo, married to Katsanevas, and Meredith’s husband, Seth Marks, entered a sparring match of their own during a group dinner in Palm Springs. Seth brought his own “receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots” to the (literal) table, fueling the fire by calling out the “biatches” sitting around him. Us needs Andy Cohen and a Bravo camera for an official mens’ spinoff ASAP.
Personal drama might be hard to avoid as a supporting character on a reality show, but Bravo isn’t the only place bros are dishing out healthy doses of gossip. It turns out, podcasts are an equally popular outlet for men to air their dirty laundry.
Barstool Sports cofounder Dave Portnoy had plenty to say about his “BFFs” cohost Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s breakup from ex Zach Bryan, calling the country singer “a really immature, not confident baby” for his alleged behavior during their relationship. Portnoy got even more eloquent on not one, but two original diss tracks: “Smallest Man” and “Country Diddy.” Yes, it’s a reference to Sean “Diddy” Combs. No, Bryan did not publicly respond. How old school!
Portnoy admitted to being “a little out of my wheelhouse” when it comes to “talking about teenage drama” and claimed he doesn’t have much “interest” in the back-and-forth despite being one of the chief pot-stirrers in the aftermath of LaPaglia’s split. Take it from Us, sports personalities can be just as petty as Housewives.
In the Super Bowl of throwing shade, NFL free agent Isaac Rochell has proven to be a leading passer. Often appearing alongside his wife, influencer Allison Kuch, on her “Sunday Sports Club” podcast, Rochell has given Us an inside look at life as a pro football player — and it isn’t all fun and games. From claiming he turned down a $10,000 bribe to change his jersey number to dropping “homemaker” merch in the middle of NFL kicker Harrison Butker’s highly publicized commencement speech scandal, Rochell is putting the “tea” in TDs.
So while society may try to convince Us that men and women are inherently different, the willingness of even the most masculine personalities to stir the pot every now and then — cameras not required, but usually preferred — proves pettiness is gender neutral.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer is speaking out amid the actor’s drama with It Ends With Us costar Blake Lively. Confirming that Baldoni, 40, “absolutely” has plans to countersue Lively, 37, attorney Bryan Freedman told NBC News’ Liz Kreutz in a new interview that Baldoni had no intentions of coordinating a smear campaign against the actress despite her allegations otherwise. “One hundred percent no,” Freedman claimed. “Justin Baldoni, from the get-go, said, ‘I don’t want to do anything negative toward her. I don’t want to hurt her.’” Freedman previously denied Lively’s “outrageous” claims in a statement to Us Weekly after she accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of their movie, which debuted last summer. Baldoni subsequently filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for libel regarding their reporting on Lively’s accusations. Lively’s attorney, meanwhile, insisted in a statement to Us that “nothing in [Baldoni’s] lawsuit changes anything about the claims” she brought forward as a spokesperson for The Times stood by their reporting. Cameron Diaz is making her highly anticipated Hollywood comeback, and Us Weekly has exclusive insight into her acting return. In a new cover story, a source reveals that Diaz, 52, felt “burnt out” before stepping away from the spotlight as her “priorities shifted.” According to the insider, Diaz wasn’t sure if she’d make another movie following her appearance in 2014’s Annie. During her hiatus from the public eye, the actress started a family with husband Benji Madden, welcoming two children. “Having kids was something she always wanted, [but] didn’t feel like she could while working in Hollywood,” the source tells Us, adding that Diaz “is in a good place mentally” as she prepares to return to the screen in the upcoming movie Back in Action with Jamie Foxx. Dolly Parton, for her part, celebrates her birthday on January 19 and was “born for entertainment.” Miller points to the country singer’s natal moon being in Leo. With her creativity “blossoming like a rose,” the astrologer advises Parton to strike while the iron is hot. “Some of her best creative inspiration that she’s had in a decade is happening now,” she tells Us.
Fellow musician John Legend, meanwhile, would make a “great psychiatrist” due to his three planets in Sagittarius. “He’s a careful, thoughtful observer of character,” Miller shares.
For the multi-talented performer, born December 28, the sky’s the limit when it comes to making money. “[There’s] no ceiling at all — he should keep creating,” Miller tells Us.
Scroll on for a breakdown of Miller’s predictions for Capricorns this year, from career moves to love lives:
What Capricorns Are Really Like
Those born between December 22 and January 19 are trustworthy, ambitious and financially savvy. “Capricorn is a big money sign,” Miller tells Us. “They know how to invest, do their due diligence and [won’t] squander their earnings.” Capricorns, represented by the sea goat, are also notorious for ferociously safeguarding their reputation. “They do whatever they can to protect it,” the astrologer adds. “If anyone says anything about them that’s not true, they will fiercely stand up for themselves.”
Work and Career
Capricorns’ professional lives are ruled by Venus, and the planet — which also rules profit — goes into retrograde from March 1 to April 12. (Venus isn’t the only one, Miller explains: “We have on retrograde after another, [including] Mercury and Mars.”) As such, take heed when it comes to business. Caps “should think carefully about their next career move during that six-week period,” Miller cautions. “Venus is associated with money — when Venus sleeps, profits suffer.”
Relationships
Good news! According to Miller, now is the perfect time for the Earth sign — who had the “best love aspects” in early 2024 — to connect. “If they’re still going out with someone they met last year, that is the right person [for them],” Miller advises. If you’re looking to seal the deal, do so in the 12 months between June 9, 2025, and June 30, 2026, when Jupiter spends time in Cancer. “That’s the very best time for Capricorn to get engaged or married” — and if you’re already spoken for, expect “much success, prosperity and health in the marriage.” Either way, Miller tells Us, this is a “golden” time for Caps and romance.
What to Watch For
Looking to purchase a new home? Capricorns may have trouble finding the perfect property that fits their needs. “It could be that they are discarding that opportunity because it doesn’t feel right,” Miller shares. Listen to your gut — and wait until after September 1, when Saturn goes into the house of home. Capricorns will “probably get their best deal” then, the astrologer predicts, as interest rates fall.
A Tale of Two Kates
It was written in the stars that both Princess Kate Middleton (January 9, 1982) and Kate Moss (January 16, 1974) would be leaders. Middleton’s Leo rising means she was “born for this role,” Miller explains, noting the sign signifies royalty, and with multiple planets in her sixth house (the house of service), she was destined “to serve others with dignity and a joyful spirit.” Meanwhile, Moss has an unprecedented five planets in Sagittarius, with most in the house of friendship, social groups, charities and humanitarian. “There’s a humanitarian cause that she might feel compelled to spearhead,” Miller says. “She sees the need to help areas of society that others overlook. It might have to do with endangered animals or the environment.”

Jennifer Lopez hinted at experiencing ups and downs in her personal life while discussing her role in the movie Unstoppable.
Lopez, 55, recently opened up to Variety about how she related to her character in the biopic, which highlights the life and career of wrestler Anthony Robles. Lopez portrays Anthony’s mom, Judy Robles, whose son was born without his right leg.
“I tell her all the time, ‘You need to own who you are and what you’ve done,'” Lopez said. “You’re inspiring every mother who has ever struggled. You really have triumphed. You’ve raised a son who has become a leader, and you deserve credit.’ But she’s very humble.”
Lopez noted that she and Judy felt like “kindred spirits,” adding, “We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them. We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together.”
As single mom Judy supported her son’s wrestling journey — Anthony won the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling national championship in his weight class — she chased big dreams of her own. She went back to school, eventually becoming associate athletic director at Arizona State University, the same college her son attended.
Lopez, meanwhile, faced her own highs and lows with the added challenge of being in the public eye. She was previously married to Ojani Noa in 1997 and to Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003. Amid her split from Judd, Lopez moved on with Ben Affleck, to whom she was engaged until 2004. The pair called off their wedding due to heightened media attention.
Lopez was subsequently married to Marc Anthony for 10 years from 2004 to 2014. The former couple coparent 16-year-old twins Emme and Max.
Following the end of her engagement to Alex Rodriguez in 2021, Lopez and Affleck, 52, rekindled their romance. The twosome got engaged once again in 2022 and held two wedding ceremonies later that year, exchanging vows in Las Vegas before celebrating with friends and family in Georgia. (Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children.)
Us Weekly confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage. A source exclusively revealed one month later that “there’s still a lot of love” between the exes despite their split.
Affleck made his appreciation for Lopez known in November 2024 while praising Lopez’s performance in Unstoppable, which he produced. “Jennifer is spectacular,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
Discussing her role with Variety, Lopez highlighted the “strength” Judy displayed throughout her life. “Women are strong,” she explained. “We have to be. From the minute women are born, we’re always having to prove ourselves, to show we’re good enough. That creates a type of strength. And then a lot of us give birth — and there’s nothing that makes you stronger than doing that.”
Bravo personalities Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover have called it quits after three years of dating. Weeks after Southern Charm’s Conover, 35, shut down breakup rumors, DeSorbo, 32, confirmed on Monday, December 30, that the fan-favorite couple are no longer together. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” the Summer House star said on “The Giggly Squad” podcast. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.” DeSorbo added that she still has “so much love and respect” for Conover, referring to him as “one of the best people” she’s ever met, but she insisted that the breakup “is the right decision for both of us.” Keep reading for more of Us Weekly’s top stories:

Multiple people have reportedly been charged in connection to Liam Payne‘s death at age 31.
According to a local news outlet in Argentina, five charges have been made. Payne’s friend Roger Nores is among those facing manslaughter charges, along with Esteban Grassi, a receptionist at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, and the hotel’s head of security Gilda Martin.
Braian Paiz, a waiter, and CasaSur employee Ezequiel Pereyra were charged with allegedly supplying drugs to Payne ahead of his death, per the report. All five of those charged were summoned to appear in court.
News broke in November that three charges were made in connection to Payne’s death. The prosecutor’s office announced at the time that the three individuals were charged with abandonment leading to death and the supply and facilitation of narcotics. Depositions and arrests were requested in a 180-page indictment, which detailed attempts to “reconstruct the days Payne spent” at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
Nine raids were conducted in Buenos Aires City, and investigators gathered testimonies from hotel staff, family, friends and medical professionals. More than 800 hours of footage from security cameras and other public cameras were reviewed amid the investigation. The prosecutors found “clear evidence of at least four instances of narcotics supply from third parties and other facilitation of addictive consumption by Payne’s direct circle during his stay at the hotel between October 13 and 16.”
Payne was found dead on October 16 after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony. A preliminary autopsy cited “multiple traumas” as the cause of Payne’s death, including hemorrhages in his chest, skull and abdomen, and multiple drugs were reportedly found in his system. The incident was not ruled a suicide.
Nores previously spoke out regarding his alleged involvement in Payne’s death, telling the Daily Mail in November that he “never abandoned” the former One Direction singer. “There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen. … I’m really heartbroken with this tragedy, and I’ve been missing my friend every day,” he claimed.
Earlier this month, Nores reportedly filed a complaint alleging that the CasaSur Palermo Hotel didn’t properly protect Payne during his stay. “A world-famous person was staying with obvious signs of being going through a crisis caused by drug intake at that very moment, and they did not even make an effort there to make up for their legal omission of having a 24-hour doctor,” read documents obtained by TMZ.
Nores claimed that the hotel manager was aware that Payne was intoxicated and argued a doctor should have been present from the time the singer checked in. He further accused the staff of doing nothing to help Payne before his fatal fall.
In a subsequent court filing obtained by Rolling Stone, Nores testified about Payne’s history with drug use. “I was a friend who loved him very much, who helped him selflessly in everything I could, who spent my own money to help him, and even then it was not enough,” he claimed. “I do not consider that I deserve the accusation that is being leveled at me.”
Nores claimed that Payne was previously “close to death” following an incident in September 2023 that left him hospitalized in Milan. He was allegedly hospitalized twice more in London that year.
“Professionals had to resort to resuscitation maneuvers to save his life, without his family or friends being able to do anything to avoid these situations or help him,” Nores claimed.
Payne was laid to rest in England one month after his death. He is survived by his parents, sisters and son Bear, whom he shared with ex Cheryl Cole.
Aaron Judge and Samantha Bracksieck try to keep their marriage out of the spotlight, but their chemistry can’t be hidden.
The New York Yankees outfielder and Bracksieck began their romance as high school sweethearts, dating on and off as teenagers before drifting apart. They reportedly rekindled their flame in 2019 and have been going strong ever since.
Through all the highs and lows of his career, Bracksieck has remained Judge’s No. 1 fan. The couple have been spotted together at several sporting events over the years. While Judge is active on social media, he hardly gives glimpses of his life at home with Bracksieck.
The pair exchanged vows in December 2021 at the Montage Kapalua Bay hotel in Lahaina, Hawaii, but the MLB All-Star has never shared any photos from the big day with his fans. Bracksieck, for her part, doesn’t appear to have any public-facing social media accounts.
