Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia rocked her solo appearance at the Golden Globe Awards after her split from Zach Bryan.

LaPaglia, 25, walked the red carpet solo on Sunday, January 5, in a low-cut gown with a darker hue. She previously attended the 2024 broadcast with Bryan, 28, and her then-friend Grace O’Malley. The “BFFs” podcaster and O’Malley, 26, posed on the red carpet together before meeting up with Bryan, 28, inside.

LaPaglia started dating “Something in the Orange” singer Bryan in 2023. After he announced their allegedly amicable split in October 2024, LaPaglia said on her “BFFs” podcast that she was blindsided by his decision and also claimed that Bryan disapproved of her Golden Globes outfit. (LaPaglia wore a sheer gown that featured a dramatic leg slit.)

“He said he didn’t want to date someone that presents themselves that way,” LaPaglia claimed on her podcast in November 2024. “He ruined my night. Everything good, anything good I did for me, he made sure to ruin it for me.”

LaPaglia had also accused Bryan of emotional abuse and stealing her pet cat. She further claimed that he initially asked her to sign a $12 million non-disclosure agreement in exchange for not speaking out about him, but she declined to comply.

Bryan has never publicly responded to her accusations after initially announcing the breakup.

“Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with eachother [sic] and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” Bryan wrote via Instagram Story in October 2024. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.”

struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go out different ways. I am not perfect and never will be. … If you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”

LaPaglia, meanwhile, has been candid about navigating the split — from moving out of Bryan’s home to dying her hair darker — on social media.

“We have exciting news. I think I’ve gained 11 pounds. I know, I know,” she said in a TikTok video last month. “And it’s great and it’s awesome because I have an appetite again, I’m eating. I’m like, bitch, you haven’t eaten for a year but maybe relax a little bit.”

According to LaPaglia, she allegedly “lost a lot of weight” following the breakup drama.

“It was a toxic, awful, horrible situation and I was mentally going through something bad but I couldn’t eat and I became skin and bones,” she said. “So, I started force feeding myself s—-y food. Like, I’ve been eating pasta, fast food — anything that will make me gain weight.”

The 82nd annual Golden Globes airs live Sunday, January 5, 2025, on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. The ceremony will also be streamed live on Paramount+.

Camila Cabello Packs on the PDA With Billionaire Heir Henry Junior Chalhoub

Camila Cabello is seemingly ringing in the new year with a brand-new love interest.

Cabello, 27, was spotted packing on the PDA with Henry Junior Chalhoub during a beach getaway in St. Bart’s. The pair were seen holding hands while splashing around a body of water before eventually sharing a passionate smooch.

Cabello and Chalhoub, 28, have been romantically linked since November 2024 after reports surfaced speculating that they met at an Elie Saab afterparty in Saudi Arabia. Neither the singer nor Chalhoub have publicly addressed or confirmed their rumored romance.

Chalhoub is the billionaire heir to his family’s eponymous Chalhoub Group based out of Dubai. The firm is described as “a partner and creator of luxury experiences in the Middle East with a portfolio of 8 owned brands and over 300 international brands” on its website.

Where Camila Cabello and Ex Shawn Mendes Stand After 'Friendly' Reunion

Prior to his apparent romance with Cabello, Chalhoub briefly dated supermodel Joan Smalls in 2021. Cabello, for her part, last famously dated fellow singer Shawn Mendes in 2023.

Cabello and Mendes, 26, initially were together from 2019 to 2021. After their split, she briefly dated Lox Club founder Austin Kevitch, but things fizzled by February 2023. Two months later, Cabello was seen packing on the PDA with Mendes at Coachella.

Cabello and Mendes’ reunion was short-lived, however, with a source confirming to Us Weekly in June 2023 that they called it quits again.

“Camila was the one who ultimately decided to end things,” the insider told Us. “A lot of their old problems started coming back after spending so much time together.”

Cabello and Mendes have since remained on amicable terms.

“I just think that we really know each other,” he said during a November 2024 interview with Apple Music 1. “We haven’t been the closest over the last couple of years, but I think we really know each other. We’ve spent a lot of time together. We really know each other’s hearts. So even when all of the sound and all the noise is happening, we can see through each other’s both pretty easily, and it’s just nice to have that.”

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's Relationship Timeline: The Way They Were

Cabello has also been open about moving on from her ex-boyfriend.

“I was in a really public relationship and as a woman you’re like, ‘I don’t want this couple thing to be my new identity,’” she told Complex in a June 2024 profile, going on to reflect on their “Havana” and “Señorita” duets.

Cabello continued, “I think there’s always a worry when a song becomes so massive that it’s going to be bigger than you. I obviously love that they were so massive and successful. But it does get people attached to you in a certain light.”

Andrew Garfield Makes Us Feel Less Guilty for Loving ‘Too Hot to Handle’

Andrew Garfield Explains Why ‘Too Hot to Handle’ Turns Into 'A Very Beautiful Thing'

Andrew Garfield being a closet fan of Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle makes Us feel less guilty about binge-watching every season.

“My guilty pleasure is Too Hot to Handle on Netflix,” Garfield, 41, said in his Friday, January 3, profile for W magazine. “F—, it’s really good. Sorry, this is like my pitch for people who haven’t seen Too Hot to Handle.

He continued, “So, they get to the island and they’re like, ‘Woo!’ in their swimming costumes. … Then, like a day goes by and they have a party, maybe a couple of them will make out, maybe there’ll be some fellatio, I don’t know, like, it’s up to them. And then it’s revealed to them they are in fact on Too Hot to Handle.”

Garfield goes on to explain that there is a “prize pot of money” that contestants — described by host Desiree Burch as sex-crazed singles who aren’t interested in securing anything remotely resembling a long-term relationship — only win “if [they] don’t f— each other.”

Andrew Garfield Questions If On-Set Romances Can Actually Work

“It’s run by this Alexa kind of robot figure [named Lana], and she says like, ‘You’ve all been selected because you are terrified of intimacy and you are terrified of making true emotional connections. You will be here for a week, and if you do anything physically with each other that is not born out of a true emotional connection, you will be fined,’”

Garfield explained, putting on his best robotic Lana voice. “Suddenly, it’s like all these really horny [and] maybe sex-addicted people are having to not do anything sexual unless they are given permission by Alana.”

According to Garfield, it becomes an “amazing thing” when each couple begins to actually open up.

“It’s beautiful,” he mused. “And you see these people start to reveal their traumas and start to reveal that they haven’t trusted men because of a trauma in their family life or in a previous relationship. Guys who are just bro’d out that they can’t access their hearts because of the hurt [they’ve felt] and suddenly they’re softening and they’re vulnerable and, of course, they’re terrified of doing it.”

Too Hot to Handle’s Charlie Tells Us Where He Stands With Katherine Now

Garfield added, “Then, of course, everyone around them is very encouraging and it becomes a very beautiful thing.”

Netflix has aired six seasons of the dating show since its April 2020 debut. A handful of couples who have appeared on the prorgam are still together, including season 2’s Emily Miller and Cam Holmes, who welcomed son Reggie in 2024.

Bri Balram and Demari Davis, for their part, won season 6, which aired in August 2024.

“We actually have not got paid yet,” Balram,” 26, told Us Weekly exclusively at the time. “They didn’t want us to go, like, elope and spend the money, so we haven’t got paid yet.”

It is not known whether Balram and Davis, 27, have received their prize money yet, but they are still a couple.

Too Hot to Handle is streaming on Netflix.

Ariana Grande says she’s “still clean” when it comes to using injectables like Botox and Juvederm.

In her Rising Star acceptance speech at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Friday, January 3, Grande, 31, joked about her youthful glow by crediting her “good friends Botox and Juvederm.”

She has since clarified that her comments were made in jest.

“Oh, my joke! My bit,” Grande quipped to Entertainment Tonight on Friday after the ceremony. “I’m still clean, but when I start going again, I’ll let you know. I mean it. I really want to be transparent as a beauty founder.”

Ariana Grande Denies All Plastic Surgery Rumors During Lie Detector Test

Grande, who founded R.E.M. Beauty in 2021, further noted that it had been several years since she last used Botox and other similar products.

“I love it and I support it, but I am still four years clean,” the Wicked star added. “You see the lines? I love them.”

Grande previously said she stopped getting both Botox and lip fillers in 2018.

“Being exposed to so many voices at a young age, and especially when people have things to say about your appearance at a young age, it’s really hard to know what’s worth hearing or not,” she told Vogue in September 2023. “When you’re 17, you don’t really know that yet.”

She added at the time, “Over the years, I used makeup as a disguise or something to hide behind with more and more hair and more thicker eyeliner — that can be so beautiful at times and I still do have love for it and appreciation for it. But I think as I get older, I don’t love that being the intention behind it anymore.”

Grande posited that her beauty journey used to be about “hiding.”

“I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines,” the Golden Globe nominee stressed to Vogue. “I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper and I laugh more and more and I just think aging can be such a beautiful thing.”

Aubrey Plaza Once Said Jeff Baena Got ‘Death Threats’ After Their Wedding

Aubrey Plaza’s marriage to the late Jeff Baena allegedly rubbed some of her most devout, intense fans the wrong way.

“Oh my god. Jeff got death threats in his DMs,” Plaza, 40, told Cosmopolitan in a 2022 profile, referring to several of her bisexual fans mourning her singlehood on social media. “I think so. People project so much stuff onto marriage, but it wasn’t some big statement I’m trying to make where I want everybody to react to it.”

Plaza and Baena had been together from 2011 until his sudden and untimely death in January 2025. To celebrate their 10th dating anniversary, the pair tied the knot in 2020 during lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic.

“A lot of things happened during COVID for me. Yes, we got married. Big deal,” Plaza recalled during a December 2021 appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We got a little bored one night. We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s real, look it up.”

Aubrey Plaza’s Husband Jeff Baena Cause of Death Revealed

She added at the time, “We were in the lockdown. Things got a little crazy, especially in my house. My husband got really into tie-dying and when I say tie-dying, I mean 50 shirts a day.”

Plaza and Baena wed at home in what she described as a witchy affair.

“I created a very quick love altar in our yard. Facts of our love, little stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature,” she told host Ellen DeGeneres. “Then the man from Alhambra showed up in a Hawaiian shirt with a briefcase [to perform the ceremony]. … I can’t remember a lot of it, it was fuzzy. But I’m pretty sure it’s legal.”

While speaking with Cosmo, Plaza further detailed the spooky ceremony and her penchant for bewitching content.

“I’ve always loved Halloween. There was always a witchy vibe in Delaware where I grew up and my mom was always witchy. I don’t know how to explain it. It runs in our blood,” she quipped. “I have Basque blood — like a lot of witches who were burned at the stake in the European witch trials. My mom always made me believe in magic. Not, like, rabbit-out-of-a-hat magic — she was just always operating on another wavelength.”

She added, “Also, in middle school, I’d go with friends into the woods and do weird spells and stuff. Somewhere along the way, I got really into herbs and mushrooms and oils and more pagan-y things. It became less ‘I’m doing a spell to harness the power of the wind’ and more ‘I’m using these herbs medicinally’ or something.”

Aubrey Plaza Gave Insight Into Her Marriage 3 Months Before Husband's Death

Us Weekly confirmed on Saturday, January 4, that Baena, an indie filmmaker, died by suicide at age 47. Plaza has yet to publicly address his passing.

In addition to Plaza, Baena is survived by his parents, his stepparents and his siblings.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour team is still reliving some of their most memorable moments on the road.

One of her background vocalists, Jeslyn Gorman, took to Instagram on Saturday, January 4, to reflect on her favorite moments from the historic two-year Eras journey.

“Some things I’ve learned in 2024. Joy is medicine. Grace is a beautiful gift that we don’t give ourselves enough of,” Gorman wrote. “Don’t sweat the small stuff, you have a life to enjoy. Generosity not only lifts someone else up, but it magically also lifts you up. We are capable of way more than we can imagine. Strength and resilience is the result of discomfort and hard work.”

All of the Biggest Moments From Taylor Swift's Final 'Eras Tour' Shows

She added, “My chosen family is pretty freaking awesome.”

Gorman included a slew of photos from the year, including a previously unseen image with Swift, 35, on a yacht. The musicians were joined by fellow Eras performers Melanie Nyama, Eliotte Nicole and Kamilah Marshall.

Swift, for her part, stunned in a multicolored two-piece swimsuit that she paired with a neutral-colored baseball cap and an oversized pair of sunglasses. For glam, Swift rocked her signature red lip.

The Grammy winner embarked on an ambitious Eras Tour in March 2023, traversing multiple continents as she performed three-hour shows highlighting most of her decades-long discography. Swift wrapped the concert tour last month.

“I’ve never played more shows on tour or toured longer than I have with the Eras Tour,” Swift said during a December 2024 concert in Vancouver. “There are so many reasons for that, like, nobody’s backstage saying, ‘You gotta do more shows.’ I decided to make this tour the longest I’ve ever done because you have made this feel like so much more than a concert tour in so many ways.”

10 Reasons Taylor Swift Was the Queen of Our Hearts in 2023

She continued, “I’ve been going on tour since I was 15 years old, and this has felt different in every single way. It’s felt like this escape to a planet where nothing but joy and passion and togetherness and camaraderie exists every night coming out to these crowds.”

To celebrate the conclusion of the tour, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, even organized a surprise “End of an Eras” party several weeks later.

Hugh Jackman Spotted at Sutton Foster's 'Once Upon a Mattress' L.A. Show

5 January 2025 at 07:17

Hugh Jackman subtly supported Sutton Foster’s West Coast run of Once Upon a Mattress.

Jackman, 56, was spotted at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 4, according to photos published by DeuxMoi. In the snaps, Jackman was seen recording seatmate Carol Burnett receiving an unexpected round of applause during intermission.

Foster, 49, starred as Princess Winifred in the Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress, which closed in November 2024. After the production wrapped on the Great White Way, she reprised the role for a limited run in California.

Us Weekly confirmed in November 2024 that Foster and Jackman had started dating after working together on the Broadway revival of The Music Man the year before.

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Are 'Happier Than Ever'

“They’re happier than ever,” a source exclusively told Us, noting their romance is a “wonderful next chapter” with a “balance of playfulness and genuine admiration.”

Per the insider, Jackman was drawn to Foster’s “immense talent, infectious positivity and grounded nature” with the Tony-winning actress appreciating his “kindness, professionalism and ability to make others feel valued.”

Jackman was previously married to Deborra-lee Furness for 27 years, announcing their separation in September 2023.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” Jackman and Furness, 69, said in a joint statement at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.”

Sutton Foster's Divorce Case Is Ongoing Amid Hugh Jackman Romance

The note concluded, “We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

The Deadpool and Wolverine star and Furness share two adult children.

Foster, meanwhile, was married to screenwriter Ted Griffin for a decade. She filed for divorce in October 2024, which has yet to be settled. The Bunheads alum and Griffin, 53, share daughter Emily, whom they adopted in 2017. (Foster was also previously married to fellow Broadway star Christian Borle between 2006 and 2009.)

According to the insider, Foster and Jackman’s relationship was “the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced.”

“A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people,” the source claimed in November 2024. “Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”

Another source, meanwhile, alleged that Jackman initially “didn’t own up” to the apparent affair and blindsided Furness. Neither Jackman, Furness nor Foster have publicly addressed the situation.

While Timothée Chalamet had the backstage support of girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Society Film Awards, it appears that he’s not ready to discuss their relationship publicly.

Chalamet, 29, attended the Friday, January 3, festival in support of his movie A Complete Unknown and walked the red carpet solo. Jenner, 27, appeared to join her man inside as she was spotted in social media photos cozying up to Chalamet at the venue.

After the ceremony, Chalamet was asked about Jenner’s attendance.

“You have a lot of supporters in here. I know you brought your partner-in-crime, Kylie, here too. What’s it like to have her supporting you on a night like this?” an Entertainment Tonight reporter asked.

Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet’s Relationship Timeline

Chalamet, however, played it cool and declined to publicly address his romance specifically.

“It’s a great feeling to be in a room with so much love and so many great peers and people that are fantastic,” Chalamet said. “I like seeing the new way and the new generation here and I also like seeing everyone that’s been holding it down for decades-plus and probably people we haven’t even met yet.”

One day earlier, The Hollywood Reporter uploaded an X video of the 2025 Golden Globes seating chart. In the clip, eagle-eyed fans noticed there is a saved seat for Jenner beside Chalamet. (The actor is up for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama at the Sunday, January 5, awards show.)

Chalamet and Jenner, of course, made their official awards show debut as a couple at last year’s Globes in January 2024. While Jenner didn’t walk the red carpet with Chalamet, they were spotted packing on the PDA inside the Beverly Hilton.

The twosome were initially linked in April 2023, making their first public appearance together at Beyoncé’s concert the following September. That same month, Chalamet and Jenner jointly attended an NYFW dinner with Haider Ackermann, as well as the 2023 US Open.

Fans Think They Spotted Timothee Chalamet in Kylie Jenner's New Selfie

By January 2024, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Chalamet and Jenner were “madly in love.”

“Everything is going great between them. They both have really busy schedules but make as much time for each other as possible,” a second insider told Us at the time. “Timothée is always making Kylie smile. They have a very special connection.”

Still, both the Kardashians star and Chalamet have declined to publicly discuss their romance at length.

“Kylie and Timothée hang out with each other frequently and communicate on a regular basis,” a third source told Us in July 2024. “They’ve gone on a number of dates recently, but they always do their best to try and stay under the radar as much as possible.”

Nikki Glaser and Boyfriend Chris Convy's On-Off Relationship Timeline

Comedian Nikki Glaser and her boyfriend, Chris Convy, have been on and off for a decade.

“I think the off-and-on is [because] I’m just terrified of committing to anything forever,” Glaser said during a May 2024 appearance on the Howard Stern Show. “I think committing to something forever makes me think of no other adventures. It’s just, kind of, admitting defeat. It’s settling.”

According to Glaser, she and Convy have broken up “probably five times in 10 years.”

“Our breaks have gone from maybe two days to one was three years long,” she recalled. “He’s broken up with me. In the beginning of our relationship, I think I wanted a boyfriend so badly, I really misrepresented who I was. I thought getting a boyfriend meant being agreeable and just doing everything, never fighting [and] never saying, ‘I don’t like what you just said,’ because then he’d be like, ‘Well, that’s the way I am, bye.’”

With Convy’s assistance and support, Glaser has learned to “stop lying” and become a better person. Keep scrolling to revisit their complete relationship timeline:

2013

Glaser and Convy met on the set of her MTV series, Nikki & Sara Live.

“It was my first TV show and he was a producer on the show and he was from St. Louis, where I was from,” Glaser recalled during an October 2022 appearance on In Depth With Graham Bensinger. “I just quit drinking, like, a year before that and I didn’t want to have any relationships with people who were heavy drinkers.”

According to Glaser, she initially thought Convy was cute but “too fun.”

“It was, like, a party that we all met each other at,” she added. “He was dancing and he was just, like, too fun and smiley. I was like, ‘That guy’s wasted because how could you be that way?’ So, I just wrote him off, like, ‘No not for me.’”

When Glaser realized Convy was also sober, she developed a “crush.”

“I just had a crush from afar for a really long time, which was so fun because I was just, like, pining for him constantly,” she quipped. “It was very Jim and Pam [from The Office.] I was Jim and he had no idea. He was my first real boyfriend.”

Glaser previously told Us Weekly in her 2022 “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” feature that she had her first boyfriend at the age of 24.

Convy continued to work alongside Glaser, producing her one-season show Not Safe With Nikki Glaser on Comedy Central. Around the same time that the show was canceled after one season, they broke up.

2020

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Glaser moved back to her native St. Louis and sold her docuseries Welcome Home Nikki Glaser to the E! network. While the TV host initially pitched it as a dating show, she later started seeing Convy again off camera.

“I kinda [wanted] to date someone who will be on camera with me,” she told Graham Bensinger in 2022, then revealing what she told Convy. “I’ll keep seeing you in private, but I have to date on the show unless you want to be on camera and he was like, ‘I’ll do it.’”

Glaser called Convy’s willingness to publicize their relationship a “turning point” because it illustrated how much he loved her.

“He wants to, like, share a thing together, so it was just all these things,” she added. “Then I started doing things that were hard for me to do, like, making time for him.”

Nikki Glaser Paid $25K in Taylor Swift Tickets Instead of Freezing Her Eggs

2022

During Glaser’s sit-down with Bensinger, she confirmed that she and Convy briefly split that September.

“Last month was like a ‘do-or-die’ situation, where it was like, ‘What are we doing? Where is this leading me?’” she added. “We never talked about marriage. We both signed on nine years ago as people who didn’t want to get married, didn’t want to have kids, but now he’s in his 40s [and] I’m in my late 30s. What are we doing? Our priorities have changed, our goals have changed.”

2024

Glaser offered more insight into their relationship on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, noting that they previously split over her podcast confessions.

“Not because I thought he won’t hear them, but they would just come out naturally under the guise of ‘it’s comedy!’” she said. “He eventually heard them and goes, ‘I don’t recognize who this person is.’ … He had every reason to break up with me because it was jarring to him because I was just lying all the time. He really got me to stop lying, I’m better at it. I’m not perfect at it because I still fear abandonment, so there’s some issues in our relationship where I fear he’s going to be mad at me.”

Nobody Wants This' Justine Lupe Adores the 'Little Things' Her Partner Does

4 January 2025 at 14:58

Justine Lupe’s Nobody Wants This character might still be searching for The One, but the actress has stopped looking in real life after finding her partner, Tyson Mason.

“I love my house, and I love my home, and I love my animals, and my baby, my husband, all of it,” Lupe, 35, exclusively told Us Weekly at the 2025 WWD Style Awards on Friday, January 3.

Lupe and Mason, who have been together since at least 2023, welcomed their first baby in August 2024. (The couple named their daughter Ellis, publicly revealing the moniker during Lupe’s November 2024 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.)

Lupe stepped out for a solo, baby-free and partner-free night at the WWD Style Awards, rocking a one-shouldered olive gown with her long locks down in loose waves. While on the red carpet, she gushed to Us about Mason’s sweetest qualities.

Justine Lupe Clarifies Comment About Filming 'Nobody Wants This' Pregnant

“I think it’s like the day-to-day little things that he does,” she told Us. “Like, for instance, he makes me a bath every night and puts out candles and some water with electrolytes and ice. Just little things where he’s just trying to make my day a little nicer. It adds up, and he’s just an amazing partner.”

Lupe, who previously starred on Succession, was pregnant while filming Netflix’s Nobody Wants This. (Lupe portrays Morgan, the sister of Kristen Bell’s Joanne, whose character is not expecting.)

“I auditioned knowing I was pregnant and that I was not going to be telling anyone I was pregnant until I was on the set and into the show,” she told Today last month. “The more evolved, feminist version of me knew it was not my problem, and that I’m going to be private about this, and it’s my prerogative. I need to care most about my mental health and the baby.”

She added at the time, “Erin [Foster], the showrunner, was pregnant, and two other women on set were pregnant, so four of us altogether. And I’m so glad I just tried to surrender and not freak out.”

Nobody Wants This is a romantic comedy series following the unexpected love story of Joanne, an outspoken and agnostic podcaster, and a “hot rabbi” named Noah (Adam Brody). The show was loosely inspired by Foster’s real-life romance with husband Simon Tikhman. (Foster, 42, had converted to Judaism ahead of their wedding. They welcomed daughter Noa in May 2024.)

Is 'Nobody Wants This' Inspired by Erin and Sara Foster's Real Life?

Nobody Wants This was honored with three nominations at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, which will be held on Sunday, January 5. The cast, which also stars Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn, will later reunite for a recently renewed second season.

“I’m just excited for whatever the writers bring my way,” Lupe teased to Us on Friday. “They’re so good, they’re so talented. Jenni and Bruce are new to the show, and I just respect their work so much that I’m really looking forward to being surprised.”

UGA Football Coach Kirby Smart's Dad Dead After Fall Ahead of Sugar Bowl

University of Georgia football coach Kirby Smart’s dad, Sonny Smart, has died. He was 76.

Sonny had suffered a fall in New Orleans, where he had traveled to watch the UGA Bulldogs play Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. (The championship game was postponed from New Year’s Day to Thursday, January 2, after a Texas man deliberately drove a rented truck through a Bourbon Street crowd and killed 14 individuals. The driver was later killed in a police shootout.)

“[Sonny] was hospitalized and underwent hip surgery; unfortunately, complications arose,” a Saturday, January 4, statement released by UGA read, per ESPN. “He fought valiantly but was unable to overcome his injuries. The Smart family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the Ochsner hospital and medical staff for the exceptional care provided to Sonny.”

The statement continued, “Additionally, they ask for your continued prayers for those affected by the tragic events that occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day. The Smart family treasures everyone’s thoughts and prayers and now prays for God’s comfort, strength and guidance.”

NFL Tragedies of 2024: The Saddest and Most Shocking Deaths

Sonny is survived by his wife, Sharon, and their three children: Karl, Kirby and Kendall. Kirby, 49, spent part of New Year’s Day at his father’s bedside before returning to game day obligations. The UGA football team ultimately lost to Notre Dame 23-10.

Sonny was a former football star, previously playing for Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, before becoming a coach for the local Holtville High School. He also coached for Bainbridge High, where son Kirby played safety, and Rabun County High.

Kirby has been candid about their father-son relationship.

“He’s taught me so much just about the way you handle things, the right way, the wrong way,” Kirby previously told reporters in January 2023. “Control the controllables. The moment’s never too big if you’re prepared. And I always watched the way he prepared our teams and our staff in high school.”

Sports Moments That Tugged at Our Heartstrings in 2024

The collegiate coach added at the time, “He was a very wise man, a man of few words. I tried to follow his mantra as a coach. I’ve certainly evolved from going to coach for other people, but a lot of my core beliefs came from the way he ran our programs in high school.”

The college football community has expressed their condolences via social media.

“Marty, the girls and I are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Sonny Smart,” Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia, wrote via X on Saturday. “An incredible father and husband and a great coach in his own right, he was a constant presence at Georgia football games along with his wife Sharon. Sonny embodied the values and strength that we should all wish to have. We are praying for Sharon, Karl, Kirby, Kendall and all of their loved ones during this difficult time.”

Brianne Howey Teases the 'New Sides' to Ginny and Georgia in Season 3

Get ready, peaches — Ginny & Georgia season 3 will bring an array of twists and turns.

“We see entirely new sides of Ginny and Georgia,” star Brianne Howey exclusively told Us Weekly at the 2025 WWD Style Awards on Friday, January 3. “I feel, like, [it’s] surprising ’cause we’ve already seen so many sides of them, but lo and behold, there’s more.”

Howey, 35, portrays the titular Georgia in the multi-season Netflix drama about a young single mother who moves her family to Wellsbury, Massachusetts after a scandalous past. Ginny & Georgia also stars Antonia Gentry (Georgia’s daughter, Ginny), Diesel La Torraca (Georgia’s son, Austin), Felix Mallard (Felix Baker), Sara Waisglass (Maxine Baker), Scott Porter (Paul Randolph) and Raymond Ablack (Joe).

A third season was renewed in May 2023 with few details confirmed except that the latest batch of episodes will hit the streaming giant later this year.

'Ginny & Georgia' Cast: Who the Stars Have Dated in Real Life

While speaking with Us on Friday, Howey teased just three adjectives to sum up the story lines.

“Oh my gosh: It’s uplifting, heartbreaking and hysterical,” Howey quipped.

Ginny & Georgia season 2 dropped on Netflix in 2023, in which Georgia and Austin finally discovered their mother’s murderous past. By the finale, Georgia is arrested on her and Paul’s wedding day for the murder of fellow Wellsbury resident Cynthia’s husband. (Georgia kills her frenemy’s terminally ill husband after learning Cynthia blocked Austin’s dad Gil’s application to move to Wellsbury.)

“Did you believe it? She’s coming from a good place,” Howey previously told Us in January 2023. “She’s trying to put this man out of his misery and she’s trying to help this woman move on and not feel guilty about it and try to keep this pristine image of Zach’s father for Zach. But yes, that’s exactly what ruins the house of cards.”

Now that filming for season 3 is wrapped, Howey is enjoying both the red carpet glamour at events like the WWD Style Awards and the quiet moments in home life with her 18-month-old daughter and her husband, Matt Ziering. (Howey gave birth in June 2023 but has not publicly shared her daughter’s name.)

“My happy place is with my daughter,” she gushed on Friday before going on to share Ziering’s most romantic moment. “It was maybe a few years ago, but he surprised me with [a] hotel room and flowers and champagne, and you can’t really go wrong [with that].”

Revisiting Late Director Jeff Baena's Film Career and Stars He Worked With

4 January 2025 at 11:37

Jeff Baena wrote and directed a slate of indie TV shows and films ahead of his sudden death in January 2025.

“[Directing is] all I ever want to do; it felt really comfortable and fun,” Baena told Seensome in 2014, referring to directorial debut Life After Beth. “I’ve been a writer for 12 years now and it was always a means to an end, I never wanted to be a writer, I wanted to be a director so this was always my intention and it felt right.”

Life After Beth starred Aubrey Plaza, who started dating Baena four years earlier. The couple, who got married in 2020, later collaborated on films Three Little Hours and Spin Me Round.

It’s an amazing experience to work with your partner in this way,” Plaza gushed to MovieFreak in 2017. “I’ve worked with Jeff since his first movie. I’ve seen him evolve, and I’ve seen him grow. It’s a really special dynamic that we have. It’s challenging at times, but it’s also really rewarding to do something together.”

Aubrey Plaza and Late Husband Jeff Baena’s Relationship Timeline

Baena echoed Plaza’s sentiments several years later, telling Reel Talker in 2022 that “she’s awesome.”

“I’d be working with her if she wasn’t my wife, but luckily she is my wife,” Baena quipped. “The opportunity to do something creative [together] where we’re both fulfilled — how rare is that?”

Baena died nearly three years later in January 2025, at the age of 47. Keep scrolling to revisit his star-studded filmography:

‘I Heart Huckabees’

Baena cowrote the 2004 film with David O. Russell, who also served as the director. The movie starred Jude Law, Mark Wahlberg, Jason Schwartzman, Naomi Watts, Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin and Isabelle Huppert.

Life After Beth was Baena’s directorial debut, which he also wrote ahead of its 2014 release. In addition to Plaza, the film featured Dane DeHaan, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Cheryl Hines, Anna Kendrick and Matthew Gray Gubler.

‘Joshy’

He wrote and directed Joshy in 2016, working with actors Thomas Middleditch, Adam Pally, Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate, Brett Gelman, Lauren Graham and Alison Brie, in addition to Plaza.

“Jeff [came] to the set of Community in our sixth season and asked me to play a small role in his film, Joshy,” Brie recalled of working with Baena during a 2022 interview with Collider. “There was no script for that. All of his films that I’ve been involved with, prior to this one, were fully improvised. So, he came to my dressing [room]. We set a meeting, and he came to meet me. … I knew a lot of the cast members in that movie. Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate and Adam Pally were friends of mine. I just thought, “Yeah, that sounds fun to do.” It was one day. I’m in two scenes in that movie. I thought the story was cool. And then, it just grew from there.”

‘The Little Hours’

The next year, Brie and Plaza reunited to play nuns in 2017’s The Little Hours. Brie’s husband, Dave Franco, also starred in the flick, as well as Kate Micucci, Fred Armisen, Jemima Kirke and Nick Offerman.

Brie told Collider in 2022 that Baena pitched The Little Hours on a phone call with her and Franco, who were both excited about the prospect of working on a completely improvised film.

‘Horse Girl’

John Ortiz, Alison Brie Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix

Brie once again led Baena’s Horse Girl, which debuted in 2020. The film also featured Shannon, Goldenite, Stella Chestnut, John Ortiz and Debby Ryan.

Dave and I lived quite close to Jeff and Aubrey. Jeff and I started hiking together pretty regularly, just as buddies, and during these long hikes, we would talk about different ideas,” Brie told Collider two years later. “Eventually, I felt comfortable enough with him to talk to him about my idea for Horse Girl, which we co-wrote and co-produced together. That was such a good experience.”

‘Cinema Toast’

SHOWTIME

Baena created and cowrote the eclectic 2021 TV show with episodes starring the likes of Brie, Christina Ricci, Chloe Fineman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Jake Johnson.

“This project is way up my alley. I just loved just the concept of it,” Plaza told AwardsWatch in 2021. “It almost felt like a new art form for me, like, it’s beyond just overdubbing a movie, it’s creating a new movie out of old stuff, and I don’t know, there’s just something very film noir and nerdish about it. To me, it talked to my film school brain.”

‘Spin Me Round’

Alessandro Nivola, Alison Brie Duplass Brothers Productions

Baena cowrote 2022’s Spin Me Round with Brie, who also starred in the romantic comedy alongside Plaza. Other performers included Jake Picking, Lil Rel Howery, Ego Nwodim, Alessandro Nivola and Zach Woods.

“It’s an insane benefit to have the person that you’re collaborating with on all fronts also be on the other side of the camera,” Baena told AV Club in August 2022 of collaborating with the film’s leading lady, Brie. “Because in addition to understanding, obviously, where the script is coming from and what the intention is, they can also set the tone in terms of acting.”

Aubrey Plaza Gave Insight Into Her Marriage 3 Months Before Husband's Death

4 January 2025 at 10:30
Aubrey Plaza Offered Rare Insight Into Dating a Director Months Before Husband Jeff Baenas Death

Aubrey Plaza briefly gushed over her marriage to husband Jeff Baena three months before his sudden and unexpected death.

“I would stay away [from dating actors],” Plaza, 40 quipped during a September 2024 appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show. “I’m married to a writer/director. I’ve never, like, really dated an actor [or] been with an actor for a long time.”

She added, “I think about that and I think, like, ‘Oh, God, I don’t want to be with myself’ or, ‘I don’t want to do that.’ But then, sometimes, I see there are so many actor couples and you’re, like, ‘Wow, look at them. They must really laugh it up.’”

Plaza married Baena in 2020 after a decade of dating. He died on Friday, January 3, at the age of 47, according to medical examiner records viewed by Us Weekly.

Aubrey Plaza's Husband Jeff Baena Dead at 47

Per the medical examiner’s website, Baena’s case status is listed as “open” with an exam already scheduled. A cause of death has not been revealed nor has Plaza publicly addressed his passing. Us Weekly reached out for comment.

The Agatha All Along actress and Baena first crossed paths in 2011, later tying the knot to mark their 10th dating anniversary.

Aubrey Plaza and Late Husband Jeff Baena’s Relationship Timeline

She added at the time, “We were in the lockdown. Things got a little crazy, especially in my house. My husband got really into tie-dying and when I say tie-dying, I mean 50 shirts a day.”

Plaza and Baena wed at home.

“I created a very quick love altar in our yard. Facts of our love, little stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature,” she recalled to host Ellen DeGeneres. “Then the man from Alhambra showed up in a Hawaiian shirt with a briefcase [to perform the ceremony]. … I can’t remember a lot of it, it was fuzzy. But I’m pretty sure it’s legal.”

Plaza was then able to use their newlywed life as inspiration for her character in The White Lotus season 2. (Plaza played Harper, who was married.)

“This character is me,” Plaza quipped to GQ in November 2022. “It’s probably the first project that I’ve ever done that I’m like, whoa, this is really close to home. … I don’t have kids. I’ve been with my husband for 12 years. I relate to being in a relationship that has peaks and valleys, and going through a rough patch and comparing yourself to another couple that seems perfect.”

In addition to their respective solo careers, Plaza and Baena also worked together on the movies Life After Beth, The Little Hours and Spin Me Round.

“She’s awesome. I’d be working with her if she wasn’t my wife, but luckily she is my wife,” Baena told Reel Talker in August 2022. “The opportunity to do something creative [together] where we’re both fulfilled — how rare is that?”

Prince William Reacts to Nanny’s Stepson's Death in New Orleans Attack

4 January 2025 at 09:50

Prince William expressed his condolences after learning his former nanny’s stepson, Ed Pettifer, was one of the victims in the New Orleans attack on New Year’s Day.

“Catherine and I have been shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Ed Pettfer,” William, 42, wrote in a Saturday, January 4, Instagram Story statement, also mentioning wife Princess Kate Middleton. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Pettifer family and all those innocent people who have been tragically impacted by this horrific attack.”

William signed the note with a “W,” his personal designation based on his first initial.

A 42-year-old Texas man drove a rented truck through a crowd on New Orleans’ famed Bourbon Street on Wednesday, January 1. Pettifer, who was 31, was one of at least 14 fatalities. The driver was shot and killed during a shootout with police.

Prince William Through the Years: His Royal Life in Photos

“The entire family is devastated at the tragic news of Ed‘s death in New Orleans. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and a friend to so many,” a Saturday statement from Pettifer’s family read, shared with London’s Metropolitan Police. “We will all miss him terribly.”

The statement continued, “Our thoughts are with the other families who have lost their family members due to this terrible attack. We request that we can grieve the loss of Ed as a family in private. Thank you.”

Pettifer was the stepson of Tiggy Legge-Bourke, who previously worked as a nanny for William and his brother, Prince Harry, when they were children. (William and Harry, 40, are the sons of exes King Charles III and the late Princess Diana.)

“[She was] our favorite nanny, to be accurate, though Tiggy couldn’t stand being called that,” Harry recalled in his Spare memoir. “She’d bite the head off anyone who tried. ‘I’m not the nanny, I’m your friend!’ Mummy, sadly, didn’t see it that way. Mummy saw Tiggy not as a nanny, but as a rival. It’s common knowledge that Mummy suspected Tiggy was being groomed as her future replacement. (Did Mummy see Tiggy as her Spare?)”

Royal Family Addresses ‘Heinous' Stabbing at Dance Class Killing 3 Kids

As noted in the passage, Harry also named his 2023 memoir after the notion that he was brother William’s “spare” in the line of succession. William is the direct heir to father Charles, 75, as the regent of England. Harry immediately followed until William and wife Kate, 42, welcomed their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

While Harry is now the fifth in line for the British throne, he stepped down from his position as a senior working royal in 2020. Harry and his wife Meghan Markle now live in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Harry has not yet publicly addressed Pettifer’s death.

Shoguns Anna Sawai Explains How Her Emmy Win Allowed Me to Not Worry About 2025 Golden Globes

Shōgun standout Anna Sawai is preparing for her first Golden Globe Awards, but she’s not anxious about the ceremony or the possibility of taking the stage and walking away with a trophy.

“I feel like when I think about it too much, I do get quite nervous,” Sawai, 32, exclusively told Us Weekly at the 2025 WWD Style Awards on Friday, January 3, while stunning in a custom Louis Vuitton gown. “So, I’m not thinking about it at all.”

She added, “I’m just going to enjoy it, I don’t want to cry anymore. I’ll just think about it when I’m there.”

Sawai is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Drama. She is up against Kathy Bates (Matlock), Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon), Maya Erskine (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Keira Knightley (Black Doves) and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).

Golden Globes 2025 Nominations: See the Complete List

Shōgun is also up for three other Golden Globes, including Best Television Series, Drama and individual acting nods for Sawai’s costars Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano. Before Sawai steps out at the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, she explained to Us how her recent Emmy victory is informing her award show prep and mindset.

“I feel like the Emmy win has allowed me to kind of not worry about it anymore, in the sense that it doesn’t matter,” Sawai said on Friday. “I got an Emmy and that’s amazing, and this time it’s just a celebration of everyone. I don’t want to focus on who wins and not. I think it’s made me learn a little bit.”

Sawai took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the Emmys in September 2024 — the first performer of Asian descent to earn the honor.

“I was crying before my name was announced. I’m a mess today,” she said in her acceptance speech at the time. “Thank you to my team and thank you to my family. Mom, I love you. You are the reason I’m here. You showed me stoicism and that’s how I was able to portray it. This is to all the women who expect nothing and continue to be an example for everyone.”

Sawai has since honored her loved ones after her victory.

“I bought my sister and my mom a Cartier ring,” she told Us. “But, none for myself. I am always trying to give more than I treat myself.”

Anna Sawai Cries While Accepting Best Lead Actress in a Drama at 2024 Emmys

Sawai’s Emmy win and Golden Globe nod were both in honor of her Shōgun role of Mariko, who died at the end of season 1.

“I personally feel like her story has concluded, and it’s perfect,” she quipped on Friday. “So, I’m not asking to come back.”

That being said, if the Shōgun creative team were interested in Mariko’s return, then Sawai “would absolutely do it.”

Until then, Sawai has her eyes on the big screen.

“I do want to do film. I feel like I haven’t done film in a long time, and I kind of want to do something that feels independent,” she said. “I’m just reading scripts, something that’s maybe like a bittersweet love story. I would love that.”

Yes, Kylie Kelce Has Her Own 'Korner' on Husband Jason's ESPN Show

4 January 2025 at 08:32
Jason Kelce Enlists Wife Kylie Kelce for Special Role During ESPN Late Night Debut

Jason Kelce’s late-night ESPN talk show featured a VIP guest in the announcer booth — his wife, Kylie Kelce!

“One of the other cool things, not only am I getting my own show but I’m getting to make my own show with my wife, Kylie, as the announcer,” Jason, 37, said during the Saturday, January 3, broadcast of his They Call It Late Night series. “Kylie’s corner, I love that sign. Ky, is this not the f—ing best?”

Kylie, 32, sat up in a box with a microphone in front of a green-painted poster that read “Kylie’s Korner.” (Green, of course, is a not-so-subtle tribute to the Philadelphia Eagles, where Jason played 14 seasons as an NFL center before announcing his retirement last year.)

“It’s amazing,” Kylie gushed. “I do have an official disclaimer, though, that I’m obligated to read. ‘To our viewers, this evening’s program is intended for mature audiences. Young viewers, such as your children, may hear language that is inappropriate for them.’”

Jason Kelce and Pregnant Wife Kylie Kelce's Relationship Timeline

She added, “Not our kids! They hear s— like this all the time. Right, J?”

Jason then replied that “swearing is not an issue” in their house.

“So, you may hear the occasional F-bomb or something, like this: I f—ing love you, Ky,” he told his wife, who repeated the phrase back to her husband.

Jason and Kylie have been married since 2018 after infamously matching on the dating app Tinder. They later welcomed daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 22 months. Kylie revealed in fall 2024 that she and Jason are currently expecting their fourth daughter.

During a December 2024 episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie revealed why she is excited about being a mother of four.

Jason Kelce Calls Embarrassing Wife Kylie 1 of His 'Great Joys'

“I really like even numbers,” she joked during the podcast episode. “Jason was always like, ‘I’ll do whatever you wanna do,’ and I was always in the camp of I wanted four with room for one pleasant surprise.”

She added, “We got to three and I was like, ‘Three’s cool. This feels good.’ Then, we got out of the rough baby sleeping and all that, and I was like, ‘You know what, I like even numbers, let’s do it.’”

While Kylie and Jason are ready to tackle (pun intended) the newborn phase again, they haven’t yet settled on a name for their future little one.

“First of all, love the confidence, but even if I did have a name picked out, I’d probably keep that one in the family,” Kylie said on an earlier podcast episode. “What I will say: We don’t have a name picked out, so you’re not missing out on anything. And I have seen a number of the suggestions come through in the comments section so I appreciate that.”

They Call It Late Night airs Saturdays on ESPN at 1 a.m. ET.

Nicki Minaj Reportedly Sued for Assault and Battery, Denies Claims

4 January 2025 at 07:09
Nicki Minaj Sued for Assault and Battery by Former Tour Manager, Denies 'False and Frivolous' Claims
Nicki Minaj Prince Williams/FilmMagic

Nicki Minaj was named in a lawsuit filed by a former employee, who accused the rapper of assault and battery.

Brandon Garrett, who claimed to work as Minaj’s manager during her 2024 tour, sued Minaj, 42, according to Friday, January 3, court documents obtained by TMZ. In the filing, Garrett claimed that Minaj summoned him to her dressing room after an April 2024 concert in Detroit, where she allegedly became agitated to learn he asked someone else to pick up a prescription.

“[Another employee, Luke Montgomery] explained that his duties entailed tasks like venue dressing room set-up, private jet set-up, hotel room set-up, quick change room refreshments, and tour bus set-up,” the docs read. “Mr. Montgomery mentioned these duties were in addition to any requests from [Minaj] communicated by [Garrett], including food orders, drinks, personal items, baby items and, most notably, prescriptions.”

Garrett reportedly explained to Minaj that he was preoccupied with another task during the show and needed another assistant to run the errand. Upon hearing his reasoning, Minaj allegedly got “visibly upset” and “angrily screamed” at him. She apparently said, “Are you f—ing crazy having him pick up my prescription?” and “If my husband [Kenneth Petty] was here, he would knock out your f — ing teeth.”

Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion’s Feud: A Complete Timeline

Garrett further claimed that Minaj then “open-handly struck” him on the right side of his face and subsequently on his right wrist. Several hours later, Garrett claimed that another staffer on Minaj’s team told him that he’d no longer be joining her team for her tour stop in Chicago.

Minaj has denied Garrett’s allegations through her attorney. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.

“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations,” Minaj’s lawyer Judd Burstein told Variety in a statement. “However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

Minaj is a rapper who broke into the music industry with the release of her 2010 album Pink Friday. She has had several ups and downs throughout her career, including a 2024 arrest in Amsterdam.

During the international leg of her tour, Minaj claimed that she was stopped by police after marijuana pre-rolls were apparently found in her luggage.

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty’s Relationship Timeline

“They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” Minaj wrote via Instagram in May 2024. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”

Minaj claimed that the drugs had belonged to her security guards and she was released several hours later.

“We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol on suspicion of exporting soft drugs,” Royal Netherlands Marechaussee said in an X statement, presumably referring to Minaj. “After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey.”

UPDATE — January 4, 2024 at 7:01 p.m. EST: Medical examiner records were updated to reveal that Baena died by suicide at his residence in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, January 3.

Original story:

Aubrey Plaza’s husband, director Jeff Baena, has died at the age of 47, according to medical examiner records viewed by Us Weekly.

Circumstances surrounding Baena’s death are currently unknown, according to Deadline. Records indicate that the case status is listed as “open,” with an exam scheduled. Us has reached out for further comment.

Baena is survived by 40-year-old Plaza, whom he married in 2020. They initially started dating in 2011 and often kept their relationship private.

“She’s awesome. I’d be working with her if she wasn’t my wife, but luckily she is my wife,” Baena told Reel Talker in August 2022. “The opportunity to do something creative [together] where we’re both fulfilled — how rare is that?”

Aubrey Plaza and Late Husband Jeff Baena’s Relationship Timeline

Baena was best known for his work on Life After Beth, Joshy, The Little Hours, Horse Girl, Spin Me Round and I Heart Huckabees. (Life After Beth, The Little Hours and Spin Me Round were professional collaborations with Plaza.)

After a decade together, Plaza and Baena tied the knot.

“We got a little bored one night,” Plaza recalled on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in December 2021. “We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s real, look it up.”

She added, “I created a very quick love altar in our yard. Facts of our love, little stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature. Then the man from Alhambra showed up. I can’t remember a lot of it, it was fuzzy. But, I’m pretty sure it was legal.”

'The White Lotus' Season 2 Cast's Dating Histories

Plaza’s marriage even informed her role on HBO’s The White Lotus season 2, in which her character, Harper, was also in a longtime relationship.

“This character is me,” she quipped to GQ in 2022.

Baena got to see Plaza transform into Harper firsthand.

“I went to go visit Aubrey. She was shooting The White Lotus a couple of weeks ago,” he told Digital Trends that same year. “I’d been to Sicily before, but I still went to Cefalù, which I’d never been to before, and that blew my mind. The Amalfi Coast is incredible. We went to Puglia, which I’d never been to before. It’s insanely beautiful. The people are so kind to me. To me, they have it worked out, like, that’s the place. I’m just drawn to it.”

David and Victoria Beckham’s son Cruz Beckham was first romantically linked to songwriter Jackie Apostel when they were 19 and 29, respectively.

Cruz and Apostel have been together since 2024 and appear to have the approval of his famous family. In September 2024, Apostel joined Cruz at Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week presentation for her eponymous fashion label.

Cruz is the youngest son of David and Victoria, who have been married since 1999. They also share sons Brooklyn, born in 1999, and Romeo, born in 2002, and daughter Harper, born in 2011. The famous couple have been candid about the experience of watching their children enter the dating scene.

“We’re being strong parents and strict parents,” David told Entertainment Tonight in January 2016. “We love our kids and we want what’s best for them, so we’ll see. [Harper] will definitely be different.”

David also gives his kids advice about relationships directly. Brooklyn once told Us Weekly what he gleaned from the retired soccer star before marrying Nicola Peltz Beckham.

“My dad was just always [like] look, ‘Just always treat her like a princess,’” Brooklyn told Us in September 2023. “‘Just talk and have fun. Enjoy each other and just work and do you guys’ thing.’”

It appears that Cruz is following in his dad and brother’s footsteps as he romances Apostel. Scroll below for their relationship timeline:

Cruz brought his girlfriend to Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show, where they sat in the front row with David, Brooklyn, Romeo and Harper. Apostel even wore a custom dress designed by the former Spice Girl.

“The most beautiful show and the most beautiful dress. 🥺❤ Congratulations @victoriabeckham,” Apostel gushed via Instagram, referring to her white halter gown.

Apostel returned the favor that same month, dropping a pic with Cruz from Victoria’s September show in a carousel except their heads were cropped out of the frame.
