As a member of Rent‘s original Broadway cast, Anthony Rapp got to witness Jonathan Larson‘s genius firsthand.
“He was so prolific,” Rapp, 53, told Us Weekly exclusively on Monday, March 10, while celebrating opening night of the new Off-Broadway musical, The Jonathan Larson Project, in New York City. “And he was so young, but so prolific.”
Now a legend in the musical theater world, Larson died unexpectedly at age 35 shortly before the first preview performance of Rent in January 1996. Rapp starred as Mark Cohen in the original cast alongside Adam Pascal, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs and more.
Rent became a career-defining success, earning Larson multiple posthumous awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. While it may be his most beloved work, Larson’s archive of music is expansive — and The Jonathan Larson Project finally gives fans access to the songwriter’s previously unheard work.
“I really went into this not knowing,” Rapp told Us. “I didn’t want to know how they structured it. I didn’t want to know what songs were in it. I wanted to come to it totally open to whatever it was going to be, and I was very moved.”

Rapp recognized “four or five” of the numbers chosen for the sung-through showcase, which stars Adam Chanler-Berat, Taylor Iman Jones, Andy Mientus, Jason Tam and Lauren Marcus.
“[‘Valentine’s Day’] was a song that was in an early version of Rent that got cut and changed and, you know, became something else. … We from the company did a version of ‘Love Heals,’ so that was a song I was very familiar with,” Rapp told Us, also citing “Pura Vida” and “Hosing the Furniture” as deep cuts he had a knowledge of.
Along with being introduced to songs he hadn’t heard before, Rapp pointed out how special it was to see Larson’s inner circle get bigger.
“The family extends,” he gushed, detailing his own personal history with Chanler-Berat and Tam. “It’s not Rent-direct, but it’s all [connected]. So it feels like being home.”
Despite his familiarity with the new show’s cast, Rapp was hands-off during the rehearsal process. “This is theirs. I just feel grateful as a member of the family that they’re doing this beautiful work to keep him alive,” he explained. “You know, both things are true — he lives on in his work and he’s also gone forever. His legacy lives on, and his legacy is so pure. That’s remarkable.”

Speaking to Larson’s passion, Rapp told Us, “I know he had moments of doubt and he had moments where he almost gave up, but … he really did always believe in himself. And he always believed in the possibility and the power of what art and theater could be, of what song and music could do, and he was profoundly driven by that. So that’s also up and through all of this [show].”
Larson’s family was also on hand to celebrate the emotional opening night. “It’s very hard to process it and to articulate it right away,” his sister, Julie Larson, told Us after the performance. “But this has been a long time coming and [conceiver] Jen Teffer has had this in her heart and in her sights for years. To see it come to fruition with such a talented, passionate group of people and to hear some of these songs that very few people have ever heard except our family, you know, on cassette tapes, is lovely.”
Julie continued, “It’s wonderful. And it’s always complicated emotionally, but I’m very happy at the moment.”
The project “shows a lot more colors of where he came from [and] where he started,” Julie said, praising the “wide range of styles” seen on stage. Mientus agreed, telling Us that he was struck by the “curiosity and playfulness” in Jonathan’s writing.
“Jonathan Larson is the whole reason that I do this … and I thought we’d seen all the work we had of his,” the actor continued. “So to not only have new work playing in New York City right now, but to be a part of it — to be in Jonathan Larson’s third-ever original cast in New York City — is a dream I didn’t even know I could have, and it’s somehow come true.”
The Jonathan Larson Project is now in performances for a 16-week limited engagement, ending June 1, at the Orpheum Theatre in New York City.
Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and her fiancé, Ollie Sutherland, got candid about their “future plans” after revealing their engagement on the Love Is Blind reunion.
The couple opened up about their relationship during the Tuesday, March 11, episode of AD’s “What’s the Reality” podcast. “We do have a wedding to plan,” AD said, teasing, “We have a date.”
While the pair wouldn’t reveal exactly when they’ll be tying the knot, Ollie hinted that the date they chose is “quite important to us.”
“We’ll let people speculate on what that is,” he continued. “But yeah, we’ve got a date in mind. I think it’s achievable.”
The reality stars have double the planning to do as they’ll be holding two ceremonies. “[We’re getting] married here in the States so that, obviously, your family can be there and share the experience,” Ollie explained. “And then some of my people will still come.”

The Love Is Blind: UK alum continued, “For those who can’t, I want a big thing in the U.K. as well, so that those who couldn’t make it to the stateside one can make it to the U.K. one. Plus it gives us an excuse to have two big ceremonies, which I’m looking forward to.”
When AD pointed out that she was excited about choosing two dresses and two pairs of shoes, Ollie joked that she won’t be getting two rings. “I’m just letting you know in advance,” he teased.
Ollie and AD — both of whom credit the Love Is Blind franchise for their reality TV beginnings — surprised fans with their engagement news during the Netflix show’s season 8 reunion on Sunday, March 9. The twosome crossed paths while filming Perfect Match season 3, which will air this summer.
Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey rolled footage from Ollie’s romantic proposal during the special. As he got down on one knee, Ollie told AD, “You’re my best friend, you’re the love of my life. I’ve never felt as happy as I have since I’ve met you. Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life loving you.”
The pair noted on Wednesday’s podcast that their individual experiences in the Love Is Blind pods helped them connect on a deeper level with each other more quickly.

“We were probably, like, three days into our very early relationship and I feel like we were already having quite profound conversations about, like, ‘Oh, what’s your outlook on raising children in this way?’ Or like, ‘What are your goals for the future?’ … We kind of fell into a natural rhythm of doing that.”
While some details of their love story are being kept under wraps until it plays out on camera, the couple are already looking forward to their future together. On Wednesday’s podcast, Ollie dropped hints about “starting a family at some point” after the pair settle down in Los Angeles.
“It goes without saying, that’s the natural progression of things,” Ollie continued. “We both want kids — I mean, some people don’t — but we both want kids.”
The twosome might be on the same page about becoming parents, but they seem to have different ideas about choosing a home. “[I want] luxury,” AD teased. “That’s why we’re working hard, honey.”
Olivia Culpo and her husband, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, are expanding their family. The model announced her pregnancy on Monday, March 10, sharing a series of maternity photos via Instagram alongside the caption, “Next chapter, motherhood .” In a subsequent social media video, Culpo gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her and McCaffrey’s photo shoot. Friends and fellow 49ers spouses sent the couple well-wishes in the comments section, including George Kittle’s wife, Claire Kittle, who wrote, “That’s one lucky baby in there love you guys !!!!!!!” Culpo and McCaffrey began dating in 2019, announcing their engagement in 2023. Last year, the twosome exchanged vows in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Culpo — who previously dated Nick Jonas and former NFL star Danny Amendola — told Vogue at the time that she viewed marriage as “the beginning of the rest of your life.” For more of Us Weekly’s top stories, scroll below:

Love Is Blind stars Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland didn’t find love in the pods, but they’re ready to start their next chapter together.
The reality stars were featured on the Netflix show’s season 8 reunion, which aired via the streaming platform on Sunday, March 9. Fans will remember AD from season 6, while Ollie appeared on season 1 of Love Is Blind: UK. The couple — who sparked romance rumors last fall — got engaged after meeting on the upcoming third season of Perfect Match.
Following a promo for the new season, footage was shown of Ollie getting down on one knee at sunset as the couple walked together on a beach. “You’re my best friend, you’re the love of my life. I’ve never felt as happy as I have since I’ve met you,” he gushed. “Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life loving you.”
AD could hardly contain her excitement — or verbally give Ollie her answer — before he presented her with a ring.
During the reunion, AD revealed she was “so surprised” by the proposal. Ollie went on to explain that the duo’s individual experiences on Love Is Blind helped them connect.
“Even as early on as when we were on Perfect Match, I noticed that we were having the deeper conversations, the more important conversations, talking about shared values and similar outlooks on life,” he said. “I think that really laid the groundwork and the foundation for the beautiful relationship we have now, and I definitely attribute a lot of that to our experiences on Love Is Blind.”
Viewers saw AD venture into the Netflix pods when season 6 dropped last year. She got engaged to Clay Gravesande, but he turned her down at the altar on their wedding day. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, AD joked that Clay was “a walking red flag,” especially when he asked for details about her looks during the experiment.

While attending the ESPYs in July 2024, AD hinted that she was looking for love on Raya. “Dating is interesting. It’s kind of far and few in between. I’m kind of picky these days,” she told Us at the time. “I don’t let everybody get my time. You gotta be real special to chat with me.”
Ollie, meanwhile, sparked a romance with Demi Brown on the U.K. version of the reality dating series. The pair got engaged but ultimately didn’t tie the knot.
Perfect Match, which debuted in 2023, brings together fan favorites from various Netflix reality shows who pair up and compete in challenges to form relationships. Past contestants include Love Is Blind‘s Damian Powers, Too Hot to Handle‘s Francesca Farago, The Circle‘s Joey Sasso and The Ultimatum‘s Jake Cunningham.
Seasons 1 through 8 of Love Is Blind are available to stream on Netflix. Perfect Match season 3 is expected to air this summer.
Season 23 hopeful Abi Bowen may have given one of the most memorable auditions in American Idol history.
During the season premiere of the singing competition, which aired Sunday, March 9, the Tennessee native tried to conquer her stage fright as she stepped in front of judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie for a chance at earning a golden ticket to Hollywood. She was inspired to audition by her late mother, Miriam Collins, who was a fan of the show before her 2023 death.
Before she began to sing Bonnie Raitt‘s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” — the same song Underwood, 41, auditioned with back in 2005 — Bowen took the judges by surprise by turning away from their table and donning a pair of sunglasses. She performed the song with her back to the trio, who eventually snuck away from their seats to stand in front of her.
The unconventional audition left a big impression on the judges in more ways than one. Bryan, 48, even compared Bowen to season 22 alum Emmy Russell, granddaughter of country legend Loretta Lynn, who referred to herself as “timid” during her own audition last year.
While impressed by Bowen’s soulful voice, Underwood urged her to consider what she wanted to get out of the competition — especially with live shows on the horizon.
The judges also teased that Bowen’s eclectic fashion sense — she entered the audition room wearing a large Western hat, bolo tie, a blue shirt and dark-washed denim — didn’t quite help her blend in with the crowd.

Despite her stage fright, Bowen earned her ticket to the next round, celebrating the milestone with her husband and her young son, Stetson.
“This is something I would have absolutely never done before. … I’ve been dealing with stage fright my whole life,” Bowen said in an interview before her audition aired. “This is a big step for me not just in music, but in proving to myself that I can do hard things.”
Bowen added that she has a “go with the flow” mentality, which helped her make the choice to put herself out there. “I kind of woke up one day and decided I was just gonna do it and see what happens because no matter what happens, it’s an experience of a lifetime,” she said of appearing on Idol.
No matter the show, it’s rare for reality TV contestants to be in it to make friends, but making new connections was top of mind for Bowen.
“You don’t realize how many stories there are in this, such a small world,” she said. “Like, you get to know all these people and you find out why they’re doing it. And you know, some people have some pretty crazy stories and I’m really excited to hopefully make friendships that last a lifetime.”

Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell got emotional watching his son, Baylee Littrell, chasing his American Idol dreams.
The 22-year-old’s audition was shown during the Sunday, March 9, premiere of the singing competition’s 23rd season. New judge Carrie Underwood said she noticed something “familiar” about Baylee before he revealed his dad’s identity.
“You must forgive me, I didn’t have your dad’s posters in my room,” Luke Bryan teased as Underwood, 41, exclaimed that Baylee resembled his father.
“Following in my dad’s footsteps is scary because his career to me is one of the most extraordinary in music history. No one can ever compare,” Baylee gushed. “I remember being 8 or 9 years old and they sold out this huge arena and I got to open up for them. I just had my two little songs and I came off stage and when the guys went on, the screams and the lights went down. I was just mesmerized.”
Brian, now 50, reflected on how his time as a boy band star affected his son, whom he shares with wife Leighanne Wallace.

“Obviously, growing up in the industry, a lot of people look at that as such a perk. But it’s not easy,” Brian said. “I’ve always told everybody that he’s 10 times more talented than I ever was.”
Outside of the audition room, Brian teared up while praising Baylee’s hard work. “We’re super proud. … I think he’s cut out for it,” he added.
Baylee went on to perform an “emotional” original song for Bryan, 48, Underwood and Lionel Richie. “This song is about me personally wanting to give up and not giving up yet,” he told the cameras. “Trust me, I wish I wanted to do something completely different. But if I’m not doing music, there’s no way I can really exist.”
His performance left Underwood stunned — even more so due to the fact that he wrote the song himself. “I think you could go very, very far in this competition,” she said.

Bryan subsequently invited Baylee’s dad to sing the chorus with him. “I don’t know what to do anymore / I seem to be all alone in this war / Always by myself with no one by my side,” the pair sang. “What to do, what to do with my life / It seems I have no more tears left to cry / Misery takes my time / I’m waiting on myself to die.”
Following the surprise duet, Underwood reiterated that Baylee’s talent spoke for itself. “For your superstar singer dad to come in here, I feel like for anybody else, it would make you look bad. But it didn’t. You were right there with him,” she said. “You didn’t pale, you didn’t shy away. You were like, ‘This is my moment.’”
When all three judges agreed on sending Baylee to Hollywood, Brian said proudly, “I’m gonna cry. I’m crying.”
Tony Finau‘s wife, Alayna Finau, has been there to cheer him on throughout his professional golf career.
The Utah native and Alayna exchanged vows in 2012 and later welcomed five children: Jraice, Leilene “Neenee” Aiaga, Tony, Sage and Sienna-Vee. Before their youngest child’s arrival in 2021, Tony hinted at his desire to keep expanding his big brood.
“We’ll probably do five or six [kids],” he told The Charlotte Observer. “We come from big families. I think Polynesians in general, but also [in] the Mormon community, [Latter Day Saints], we like big families. I have five brothers and three sisters. [My wife] has three sisters and a brother.”
The twosome have not publicly outlined the story of how they met, but they’ve bonded over their faith throughout their romance. “I hear people say things like, ‘Oh, wow, I wouldn’t think that you’re a member [of the church] or Mormon, or anything like that.’ Some people hear different things about Mormons and what we do, what we believe,” Tony said in a 2017 interview. “So, I think it’s a compliment to me.”

The twosome tied the knot on Mother's Day 2012. While celebrating their 10th anniversary, Alayna revealed via Instagram that they played "'how mom & dad met' trivia" with their kids and "reminiscing [on] our love story."
Alayna praised her husband during a joint interview for making "a lot of time for all of us" despite his busy schedule. Tony, for his part, wished he could do more.
"I think the biggest challenge when I'm on the road is being away from my family," he told Deseret News. "I always had parents who were there for me ... I don't have as much time with my children as I'd like."
Tony's wife and children caddied for him during the Par 3 Contest at the 2018 Masters. "The kids also witnessed a hole in one from Dad 😱..Nothing short of an AMAZING experience to sum up the day," Alayna gushed via Instagram alongside a sweet family pic.
The athlete celebrated eight years of marriage by sharing eight photos from throughout his relationship with Alayna. "Couldn't imagine my life without you by my side," he captioned an Instagram tribute, adding, "We've had our ups and downs like any couple through marriage but you've always been my number 1 fan and my number 1 support!"
"10 yrs 🤍 Happy anniversary to my one & only! peaks & valleys, learning, growing, compromising & lots of loving. Nobody else I rather do life w/ than you. 🫶🏼 I love you! @tonyfinaugolf ✨," Alayna wrote via social media in honor of the duo's marriage milestone.
The couple were featured in Netflix's Full Swing documentary, which showed a glimpse of their lives at home and how they supported each other through personal challenges.
Tony opened up about the pair’s marriage struggles in a March interview.
“I honestly can say before COVID, I don’t think my wife and I spent more than two weeks together,” he told Skratch. “We went into it and we were like, ‘We’re about to fall more in love or get a divorce.’ This is only going to end in one of those two ways. And luckily, it was the first.”
Seven years after her split from Eric Dane, actress Rebecca Gayheart is calling off their divorce. According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Gayheart, 53, requested to dismiss her initial divorce filing, which was submitted in February 2018. At the time, Gayheart cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the pair’s split. She and Dane, 52, tied the knot in 2004, welcoming daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. Before Gayheart filed to dismiss her divorce petition, she and Dane proved themselves to be friendly coparents, often reuniting for vacations with their two children. Gayheart previously confessed to Us in October 2018 that raising kids with her then-estranged husband wasn’t “easy,” but she emphasized that the duo were “committed” to trying their “best.” For more exclusive updates and top stories, scroll below:

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart have been candid about their relationship ups and downs over the years.
The pair tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2004 and welcomed their first child, daughter Billie, in March 2010. Billie became a big sister the following year when the pair’s second daughter, Georgia, was born.
The twosome kept their children relatively far from the spotlight over the years before Gayheart filed for divorce in February 2018. Later that year, the actress opened up about adjusting to coparenting with Dane.
“We’re doing our best. It isn’t easy,” Gayheart exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2018.
In March 2025, news broke that the exes planned to call off their 7-year-long split. According to docs obtained by TMZ at the time, Gayheart filed a petition for the dismissal of their divorce, which had never been finalized in the years since their split.
Scroll down for a look back at the estranged couple’s relationship:
The pair exchanged vows in Las Vegas. The pair exchanged vows in Las Vegas. When asked about how their romance began, Dane told Flaunt magazine in 2008, "It's probably one of the least interesting stories in the world. It went basically like this: 'You wanna go out?' 'Yeah, sure.' Ten months later, we were married."
At the height of his Grey's fame, Dane checked himself into treatment for prescription drug addiction. He grew dependent on painkillers after suffering a "sports injury," per his rep.
The California native exited Grey's after six seasons as Dr. Mark Sloan. He returned to the ABC series in 2021 for the first time since his character was killed off.
Dane briefly stepped away from his TNT show The Last Ship in April 2017 amid his battle with depression. "Eric asked for a break to deal with personal issues," Dane's rep told Us in a statement at the time. "He suffers from depression and has asked for a few weeks of downtime and the producers kindly granted that request. He looks forward to returning."
Two months later, he and Gayheart made their first public appearance together since his acting hiatus at the 16th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum filed for divorce from Dane after 14 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split. At the time, Gayheart sought spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of their two daughters.
"We're doing our best. It isn't easy," Gayheart exclusively told Us of coparenting with her then-estranged husband. "But we are trying and we are committed. ... There are so many things [that make it challenging]."
She continued, "I think that as a female you need to be able to always take care of yourself and never depend on a man. I’m going back to work and I think it’s partly because I want my daughters to see me work. I took some time off to have my kids."
A decade after he and Gayheart made headlines for their leaked nude bathtub video, Dane said he wasn't ashamed of the 2009 footage. "I didn't regret it," he told Glamour of the infamous video, which also featured another woman. "I have no regrets nor do I make any apologies for my life experience. It's my life experience and I am at peace with all of it."
He continued, "I often think about that answer I gave [in 2014 calling it a regret]. And looking back now, was it a mistake? Absolutely not. Three consenting adults, one of them being my wife? I wasn't doing anything wrong. ... We were just three people taking a bath."
"This is us, family vacay 2022 🇫🇷🥳❣️#familia #travel #goodtimes #moretocome #eurodanes," Gayheart captioned an Instagram photo, reuniting with Dane for a family trip.
When Gayheart shared even more footage from her European vacation, eagle-eyed fans spotted a romantic tablescape in the family's hotel room: champagne, white roses and chocolate-covered strawberries, sparking reconciliation rumors.
The pair kicked off the new year on a trip to Mexico with their daughters and a group of friends. Dane and Gayheart were photographed holding hands during the getaway after spending time on a boat.
TMZ reported that Gayheart filed a dismissal of divorce petition to end her initial 2018 divorce filing from Dane. Us reached out to reps for both at the time.

Berner, 33, cohosted the red carpet on Sunday, March 2, with her BFF and former Summer House costar Paige DeSorbo, interviewing celebs as they arrived for the annual awards show afterparty. Following the event, a clip of Berner speaking to Megan Thee Stallion went viral online, with some fans claiming the Bravo alum showed racial bias by telling the rapper, “When I want to fight someone, I listen to your music.” Berner addressed the controversy in a social media statement on Thursday, March 6, writing, “Interviewing Megan Thee Stallion was a dream of mine. I love her music and it’s my go to whenever I need to boost my confidence before a show. Country singer Ingrid Andress felt the support of her community after sparking backlash with her drunk national anthem performance last summer.
Andress, 33, spoke for the first time about the now-viral mishap — which resulted in her checking into rehab — on the Thursday, March 6, episode of Nick Viall‘s “Viall Files” podcast. Andress said it was “really meaningful” that other musicians rallied around her in that moment.
“I was expecting no one to reach out, but there was just so much outpouring of love from female country artists in Nashville,” she said. “I actually felt, like, so loved and seen going into rehab.”
Andress named Elle King and Kelsea Ballerini as being among the artists who sent her support. “Elle King was like, ‘This is just all part of it, girl,'” Andress recalled. “She’s obviously been there before, too. … And that really meant a lot to me.”
In June 2024, Andress sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the MLB Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas, and her rendition quickly made headlines. One day after the event, Andress announced she was seeking professional help.
“I’m not gonna bulls— y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote in an Instagram statement at the time. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun.”
As she reflected on the mishap on Thursday, Andress admitted that she “was really loving the numbing feeling” that she had after drinking. “It wasn’t until I woke up the next day where I was like, ‘OK, this is so unlike me.’ Like, ‘This is not OK.’ … Because I actually walked out [onto the field] and did not care. I was just like, ‘I don’t care how this goes,'” she said.
Andress was “so f—ed up” that she initially thought she “kind of nailed” her performance. “My best friend called me after I got off the field and I remember briefly talking to her. She’s like, ‘So how do you think that went?’ … She was very delicate,” Andress recalled.
The songwriter added that when she woke up the next morning, she didn’t have much recollection of the performance, which was “terrifying.” At that point, she made the decision to call her management and go to rehab.
“It only took, you know, global humiliation for me to be like, ‘This is a problem,'” she joked. (Andress recently performed the anthem again at a Colorado Avalanche hockey game, her first public event since the MLB incident.)
King, meanwhile, gave her own drunken performance at the Grand Ole Opry in January 2024 during a tribute to Dolly Parton. “I’ll tell you one thing more: ‘Hi, my name is Elle King [and] I’m f—ing hammered,'” she said in footage from the event shared online.
Several months later, King revealed on the “Dear Chelsea” podcast that she was going through something “very heavy and traumatic,” which led to her “big no-no” on stage. “I suffer from severe PTSD. That day, I hadn’t eaten, I hadn’t slept in days, and I was really overwhelmed. I was like a shell of myself,” she explained in May 2024. “I take one shot too many, and I’m just not there in my body, I’m not there. I don’t remember it. … I was mortified.”
King said she apologized to both the Opry and Parton, who told her, “Well, Dolly’s not mad at you, why should the world be?”

In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, the reality star revealed that she and Hoffman, who have been dating since 2023, exchanged vows after evacuating Los Angeles due to the Pacific Palisades wildfires. “Literally cue Rihanna, ‘We found love in a hopeless place.’ What better time to get married than right now? Because if the world is ending, we want to be with each other,” Windey told the outlet. Having a private wedding “felt right,” according to Hoffman, who proposed with the help of a crossword puzzle. Before her Sin City wedding — which cost just under $800 overall — Windey appeared on season 26 of The Bachelor in 2022. That same year, she and Rachel Recchia were named co-leads of The Bachelorette’s season 19. Windey got engaged to Erich Schwer during the season finale, but the pair called it quits less than two months after their engagement aired on the ABC reality series. During the Wednesday, March 5, episode of “New Heights” — cohosted by his brother, Jason Kelce — Travis, 35, opened up about why he didn’t think it was the right time to retire.
“I think the biggest thing is that I f—ing love playing the game of football,” he explained. “I love playing, I still feel like I can play at a high level. And possibly at a higher level than I did last year, I don’t think it was my best outing. I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I’ve been in years past. I just, you know, I wanna give it a good run.”
Travis said he has “a bad taste in my mouth” after last season, adding, “I love so many people in Kansas City … it’s home for me now. I don’t wanna leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and I put in a lot of focus into being the best that I can for KC and last year it didn’t end well for us.”
“I feel like there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I got, and that’s what I’m gonna do, man,” he said.
Jason, 37, joked that his own 2024 retirement swayed Travis in the other direction before asking for more details about his decision-making process.
“It’s similar to all the other decisions I make, it’s just off of feel. I’m not a big measure the pros and cons [person] and all that. I just go off of feel, pure gut feeling. And I f—ing love this game, man,” Travis said. “And not only that, I love going into the building with the guys that are there.”
Head coach Andy Reid played into the decision as well. “Coach Reid has been one of the biggest influences on my life, not just in the game of football. And I don’t wanna stop going to work with him, I don’t wanna stop learning from him. I don’t wanna stop being the reason why he has success or being part of the reason he has success,” Travis continued. “I want that guy to have the most success in the world because of who he’s been in my life, and that’s the same with Pat [Mahomes]. … I wanna keep living out those dreams.”

Speculation swirled about Travis’ NFL future last month after the Chiefs lost Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles. The defeat capped off an underwhelming season for Travis, who previously declared that he didn’t pay attention to commentary about his stats. During the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, Travis only made four catches for 39 yards — his worst Super Bowl performance to date.
Travis spoke candidly about his mindset post-Super Bowl during a February episode of “New Heights,” revealing that he wasn’t ready to be “making any crazy decisions.” He said on Wednesday that losing the Super Bowl “was probably the biggest factor” in his choice to come back.
“I never once kinda second-guessed it, it was always in the back of my mind,” he explained. “Even when it got tough last year on the body or when it got tough after the Super Bowl, you know, you’re at your all-time low. There’s just something in a motivating factor that you can do this and you wanna do this. I pulled the trigger as soon as I had that feeling. … I can’t say whether or not this is going to be the last year because I still love a lot of what I do for the city of Kansas City and the Chiefs organization.”
The Chiefs reportedly gave Travis a deadline of March 14 to inform them of his plans for next season, and he made the call with time to spare. Pat McAfee revealed on the Thursday, February 26, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that he received a text from Travis that read, “My dawg!!! I’m coming back for sure.”
The text continued: “I’m gonna try to get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle.”

Travis’ decision was celebrated in an Instagram post shared by the Chiefs with the caption, “YEAR 13.” The official “New Heights” account wrote in the comments section, “LETS GOOOO.”
Before Travis’ return made headlines, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that he had the support of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, regardless of his decision. Swift, 35, attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023 and has become a staple at Arrowhead Stadium as her romance with the tight end continues. She attended the 2024 Super Bowl, cheering on Travis and the Chiefs as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers. In February, Swift made her second Super Bowl appearance.
“Taylor and Travis work so well [together],” a second insider revealed last month. “They’re still madly in love, and their relationship just keeps getting better and better.”
The Valley star Jax Taylor opened up about his past cocaine addiction, revealing that he’s 83 days sober. During the latest episode of the “Hot Mic” podcast, Taylor, 45, admitted that it was “hard to say out loud” that he’s struggled with “substance issues” throughout his life. “I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45. There [were] times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I’d go heavy on it,” he explained. Taylor, who first appeared on Bravo on Vanderpump Rules, hinted that fans “could kind of tell that I was on something” while watching the reality show, but he claimed producers were unaware. He further revealed that his current sobriety streak is the “longest I’ve ever gone in my life without either” cocaine or alcohol, two things he said “go hand in hand” in his experience. Taylor’s revelation comes one year after his split from Brittany Cartwright, with whom he welcomed son Cruz in 2021. Taylor previously completed a 30-day mental health treatment program last summer. Former soccer star Ashlyn Harris got candid about where she stands with ex-wife Ali Krieger after their divorce. In a new podcast interview, 39-year-old Harris reflected on the “grieving process” that comes with navigating the end of a marriage in the public eye, emphasizing that she “will not allow” any negative comments about the breakup “in my presence or around my children.” Harris added that she doesn’t want kids Sloane and Ocean, whom she coparents with Krieger, to feel “like they have to choose sides” as a result of the breakup. While she and Krieger, who were married for nearly four years before their 2023 split, aren’t in a “perfect place” with one another right now, Harris hopes they’ll “get there” eventually. “I think all I want for my ex-wife is to be happy and she’s in a new relationship that brings her a lot of joy,” Harris said. Both athletes have moved on following their divorce — Harris is dating actress Sophia Bush, while Krieger went public with Scottish soccer player Jen Beattie last fall. The 33-year-old was given another opportunity to sing the national anthem, this time at a Colorado Avalanche hockey game on Friday, February 28. “We’re back baby. Thank you @coloradoavalanche ,” Andress captioned a video from the event via Instagram.
In the clip, Andress stood on the ice wearing skinny jeans and a custom jersey with her last name and No. 91 on the back. The crowd cheered as Andress hit the notoriously challenging notes at the end of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
The Avalanche defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-2 at their home stadium in Denver. Friday’s game marked Andress’ first public appearance since her viral national anthem attempt — and subsequent rehab stint — last summer.
When Andress hit the field in Arlington, Texas, for the annual MLB Home Run Derby, viewers and players alike were left stunned by her interpretation of the anthem. As mixed reviews poured in via social media, Andress gave an explanation for her performance in an Instagram statement.
“I’m not gonna bulls— y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote in June 2024. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun.”
A rep for the singer later told the Associated Press that several of her tour dates were canceled as she sought treatment. According to Billboard, however, Andress’ streaming numbers saw a 229 percent surge on the day of the Home Run Derby and the day after.
Before her appearance in Denver on Friday, Andress had stayed silent on social media (trust Us, we’ve been checking). While she’s shared little insight into her rehab stay, Andress is turning over a new leaf with the release of her latest single, “Footprints.”
“When I was growing up, I had the honor of having very hard working parents. They instilled in me a steadfast work ethic that, to this day, I am so grateful for. But with it came the message that ‘failure’ was not an option, and if it did happen, it meant failing as a person. A sort of red mark against the rest of your life. As a kid, it was a scary thing to hear,” she wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 3, while announcing her new song. “This inability to fail brought me great success, but also brought extreme burnout and more fear than joy.”
Andress noted that her perspective has since changed, adding, “As I’ve gotten older and experienced more life, I think the most human thing on earth is failing. It’s getting kicked off, feeling the sting of it, but getting back on the same damn horse anyway. The sister, daughter, and human I want to be is resilient. Without the mistakes in my life, I would not be the person I am today, and I sure as hell wouldn’t have the stories to pass on about my journey. We have to talk about our mistakes in order for our success to make sense.”
Andress described her single as “a reminder to all the people I love the most, and also to myself, that I’m out here trying my best at this ‘life’ thing, and if there’s any helpful guidance anyone can take from it, it’s all worth it,” concluding, “Here’s to making it worse, making it right, and making it.”
Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom are notoriously private about their marriage — but fans still think the stars are couple goals.
The harp player was introduced to Samberg when he attended one of her shows in 2008 with fellow Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen. “I was a big fan of his. In fact, the night that I met him … I had just been with my band backstage, like, an hour before, watching Just 2 Guyz,” Newsom recalled during a March 2016 appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, referring to an old sketch the comedian had “a tiny part” in. “He plays Steve the c—. … So when I met him, he was kinda shy, and I said, ‘Oh, my God, you’re Steve the c—!’ He always says he saw heart bubbles.”
Seth Meyers joked that the story checked out, adding, “Everything I know about him, I know that is the dream way for a girl to greet him.”
Us Weekly broke the news in February 2013 that the duo got engaged after five years of dating. They tied the knot in California that September in front of a star-studded group of friends, from Lorne Michaels to Nick Kroll.
The pair’s romance remained low-key over the years, and Us confirmed in March 2017 that they quietly welcomed their first child. Fellow Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone revealed in February 2023 that Samberg and Newsom welcomed their second child one year prior.
Scroll down for a closer look at Samberg and Newsom’s love story:
Samberg and the Family Jams star tied the knot at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California, after five years together.
"Andy's speech was the perfect mix of comedy and sentiment," a source exclusively revealed after the ceremony. "Both he and Joanna were crying throughout the speech."
Newsom accompanied her husband to the 71st annual Golden Globes, where he won Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for his work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The sitcom also took home the trophy for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
"I remember being on tour, watching his old, pre-SNL stuff with my band, forwarding it to friends," the Portlandia alum told Rolling Stone, gushing that she was a big fan of Samberg "before I ever met him."
"It's been the best thing that's ever happened to me," Samberg gushed to The New York Times of becoming a dad. "It has surpassed every expectation I ever had. It's definitely been very blissful."
The "Easy" artist helped Samberg and the Palm Springs team map out the Hulu film's soundtrack. "When my wife, Joanna Newsom, read the script, she said, 'Do you know that song 'When the Morning Comes' by Hall and Oates?' And I was like, 'No, I haven't heard that one,'" the writer recalled to Consequence of Sound. "And I love Hall and Oates. So, she played it for me and I was like, 'Holy s--t.'"
Newsom made a brief appearance during the series finale of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Caroline St. Jacques Renard, the associate principal cellist for the Berlin Philharmonic. Samberg's character calls her "some nerd" with "a giant violin," and she eventually refers to him as "the ugly one that made fun of my cello."
Taccone joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Samberg’s expanding family was the reason fans didn’t see The Lonely Island in the 2022 movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. “We were supposed to do a cameo, like, as The Lonely Island, and it coincided with Andy having his second child,” he said at the time.

The former couple were spotted together at the Searchlight Pictures Post-Oscars Celebration at Cipriani Beverly Hills on Sunday, March 2, following the 97th annual Academy Awards. Stone, 36, and Culkin, 42, shared a sweet hug as they chatted at the star-studded event.
Elsewhere at the bash, the twosome posed for a group pic with Culkin’s A Real Pain costar and director Jesse Eisenberg, among others.
Stone was joined by husband Dave McCary at the party. In a rare showing of PDA, the actress was photographed sitting on McCary’s lap. (At the Oscars, Stone had another ex in the room — Andrew Garfield — but it’s unclear in The Amazing Spider-Man costars interacted.)
Culkin, for his part, had the support of wife Jazz Charton as he celebrated his Best Supporting Actor victory. He clutched his trophy while planting a kiss on Charton’s cheek.

Culkin and Stone have crossed paths several times in the years since their brief romance, which began on the set of the 2009 movie Paper Man. The exes previously partied together at the 2022 Met Gala and reunited at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, where they both won trophies. (Stone took home Best Actress for her role in Poor Things, while Culkin earned Best Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Succession.)
The pair have also proven to be dynamic collaborators. Stone and her husband are both credited as producers on A Real Pain.
“She’s great,” Culkin gushed over Stone during a January 2024 interview with E! News. “She’s a really wonderful person.”

Culkin noted that he was glad to have Stone’s support behind the scenes on the project. “It’s nice because you go into a job and most of the time you don’t really know anybody. But in this case, going in, I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, well, at least that part’s taken care of,'” he continued. “I’m going into a situation where the producers are going to be great, and where the filmmaker will be nice, too. It was good.”
A Real Pain had an impressive awards season, with nominations at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, BAFTAs and the Oscars. Culkin’s performance earned him multiple wins, culminating with his first-ever Academy Award victory on Sunday.
As he took the stage to accept his trophy, Culkin gave an explicit shout-out to his former Succession costar Jeremy Strong, who was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
“Jeremy, you are amazing in The Apprentice. I love your work. It’s f—ing … f—, I cursed. I didn’t mean to. There we go, I cursed. I didn’t mean to,” Culkin said. “I’m not supposed to single anyone out, it’s favoritism. Anyway, but you were great.”
The couple did a quick change following the ceremony on Sunday, March 2, stepping out in matching black outfits at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills. Jenner, 27, sidled up to Chalamet, 29, in a slinky lace dress with a strapless neckline and corseted bodice. Chalamet, meanwhile, left his crisp white dress shirt slightly unbuttoned beneath a dark velvet jacket.
Jenner was also photographed with a handful of Chalamet’s costars from A Complete Unknown, including Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro.
A Complete Unknown was up for a total of eight awards at the Oscars on Sunday, with both Chalamet and Barbaro, 34, earning individual nominations for their respective performances as Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. The James Mangold–directed biopic was also in the running for Best Picture, losing to Sean Baker‘s Anora. (A Complete Unknown ultimately earned zero trophies.)
Despite losing his chance to become the youngest Best Actor winner in Academy Awards history — The Brutalist‘s Adrien Brody took home the win — Chalamet appeared in good spirits as he left the ceremony with Jenner. Exclusive video footage obtained by Us Weekly showed Chalamet holding on to Jenner’s hips as they walked out of the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Earlier in the night, the couple were spotted kissing after taking their seats inside the venue. Chalamet walked the red carpet solo in a bold yellow Givenchy suit before meeting up with Jenner, who looked glamorous in a black Miu Miu gown.
The twosome were seated in the front row, making them prime targets for Oscars host Conan O’Brien. “Timmy Chalamet is up for Best Actor tonight, you’re amazing and you look amazing. I love that suit. You will not get hit on your bike tonight,” the comedian teased in his monologue. “Safe! Amazing actor. Timothée is nominated for his portrayal of Bob Dylan, yeah. Bob Dylan wanted to be here tonight, but not that badly.”

O’Brien, 61, also took aim at Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two, which earned five nominations that night. “Guess what? I’m told [director Denis Villeneuve] banned smartphones on the set of Dune 2. Apparently, his actors kept Googling, ‘What is this movie about?'”
When the host quipped that he and Chalamet would “hang” after the ceremony, Chalamet jokingly turned down the offer by shaking his head. “That was a no,” O’Brien teased.
Jenner has supported Chalamet throughout his awards season run, previously joining him at the 2025 BAFTAs in London. The couple have been dating since 2023.
“Timothée is very focused on his career and Kylie loves being on the sidelines cheering him on,” a source exclusively told Us last month. “She loves that she’s in the spotlight more than her. It’s been a breath of fresh air.”
The pair’s big night out at the Oscars comes as Jenner mourns the loss of Jesus Guerrero, her friend and hairstylist. Ahead of the awards show, an insider told Us that Jenner is “beyond devastated” by Guerrero’s death at age 34 and “offered to pay for all of [his] funeral expenses.”
