Meghan Markle Shares Never-Seen Photos With Harry, Kids on 7th Anniversary

19 May 2025 at 07:20

Meghan Markle is reflecting on her marriage to Prince Harry with a sweet anniversary tribute.

“Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories,” Meghan, 43, captioned an Instagram post on Monday, May 19. “Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story — we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!”

The photo shared appeared to be a bulletin board showcasing the timeline of “our love story,” featuring several photos of Meghan and Harry, 40, throughout the years.

A few never-before-seen images from the early days of their relationship in 2016 appeared on the board alongside the cities where they had been taken. Their 2017 engagement photos and one picture from Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding were also displayed.

The 2019 section of their love story featured an ultrasound of firstborn son, Archie, and a Polaroid of a pregnant Meghan showing off her baby bump. One image showed Harry leaning over Archie after their son was born in May of that year.

2020 (when the couple relocated from London to Montecito after stepping down from senior-working-royal duties) featured romantic photos of the pair, while 2021 brought more family photos. In fact, their daughter Lilibet — who was born in June of that year — could be seen in full as a newborn. The year 2022 had the most images of the couple and their entire family, while 2023 and 2024 were majority of just Harry and Meghan showing off their love.

Along with the images, Meghan included handwritten notes about the pictures, including photo credits, in her signature script. “Love wins,” also appeared to be written alongside the final image of Harry and Meghan kissing, which was taken this year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Relationship Timeline

Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November 2017, getting married months later in May 2018. Their highly publicized romance has been a topic of conversation for years — especially after the duo announced their decision to leave the royal family in 2020 and relocate to California.

Meghan’s anniversary post comes amid Harry’s drama with his family. Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex lost an appeal in his ongoing legal battle for government-funded security in the U.K. (Harry and Meghan lost their security detail following their departure from the royal family.)

Harry spoke out in a bombshell interview, subtly referencing his wife and kids, while hinting that his father, King Charles III was involved in his legal loss.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” Harry said, in part. “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done.”

Michelle Williams Gets Emotional While Discussing 'Special' Heath Ledger

19 May 2025 at 07:00

Michelle Williams made a rare comment about how her and ex Heath Ledger‘s 19-year-old daughter, Matilda, keeps his memory alive.

During the Monday, May 19, episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast, host Dax Shepard spoke with Williams, 44, about the impact Ledger left behind, saying, “I feel obligated to say that I knew him a little bit when he was getting sober, and I don’t know that I’ve ever fallen in love with somebody so quickly.”

Shepard expressed gratitude for the time he spent with Ledger. “This is one of the most special boys I’ve ever met, and I can feel the weight of the world on him in a very special way that kind of broke my heart,” he added. “I was very, very sad, and I thought he was just so special.”

Williams got emotional about Shepard’s praise for Ledger. “[He was] so special, so special,” she whispered. “Thank God there’s Matilda.” When Shepard described Ledger as “this heart here that’s just leaking out everywhere,” Williams wholeheartedly agreed, saying, “Yeah, an incredible sensitivity.”

Stars Who Have Tragically Lost Their Significant Others Through the Years

After meeting on set of Brokeback Mountain in 2004, Williams and Ledger started dating. Matilda was born in October 2005.

“We had a baby. But I suppose maybe it’s a good thing about being young is that you don’t have so much life experience that you can contextualize things,” Williams added on Monday’s podcast episode. “So you’re really just going with the flow.”

The pair ultimately called it quits in October 2007 and three months later, Ledger died at age 28 due to an accidental drug overdose. It would be years before Williams made a comment about raising Matilda as a single mom.

“In all honesty, for pretty much everything else, I feel like I’m a believer in not fighting circumstances, accepting where you are and where you’ve been. In pretty much all senses but one,” she told Porter magazine in 2016. “I would be able to go totally down that line of thinking were it not for Matilda not having her dad. You know, that’s just something that doesn’t … I mean, it just won’t ever be right.”

Heath Ledger’s Dating History: Michelle Williams and More

Williams went on to marry musician Phil Elverum in 2018. Less than a year later, the duo parted ways and Us Weekly confirmed in December 2019 that Williams was engaged to director Thomas Kail. They tied the knot in 2020 and have welcomed three kids together.

As Williams’ eldest has gotten older, the actress has reflected on Matlida’s close bond with actor Jeremy Strong.

“[Matilda] didn’t grow up with her father but she grew up with her Jeremy,” Williams told Variety in May 2022. “[She] was changed by [Strong’s] ability to play as though his life depended on it, because hers did. Jeremy was serious enough to hold the weight of a child’s broken heart and sensitive enough to understand how to approach her through play and games and silliness.”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Smile in NYC Amid Ongoing Legal Drama

19 May 2025 at 06:54

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were in good spirits while out and about in New York City amid their ongoing legal drama.

Reynolds, 48, led Lively, 37, through the streets of SoHo while holding her hand on Sunday, May 18. The Welcome to Wrexham star kept it casual in a short-sleeved button down with black pants and sneakers. His wife, on the other hand, appeared a little more dressed up. Lively opted for a floral-print dress and white denim jacket with heels.

Lively was all smiles during their walk while Reynolds kept a more serious face, smirking at the cameras.

Their rare outing comes amid Lively’s ongoing drama with former It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. The pair have been at odds since December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the film’s set. Baldoni countersued the actress and Reynolds for $400 million. (Both Lively and Baldoni have continued to vehemently deny each other’s accusations.)

How Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Are Coping Amid Justin Baldoni Lawsuits

As the back and forth continues, Taylor Swift was dragged into the legal drama after she was subpoenaed earlier this month.

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film,” Swift’s rep shared in a statement to Us Weekly on May 9. “She did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”

The statement continued: “The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’ Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

With Swift’s name coming up in reference to the lawsuit, fans have wondered what that means for the singer’s friendship with Lively. (Swift is the godmother to three of Lively and Reynolds’ four kids: James, Inez, Betty and Olin.)

“Taylor and Blake have talked, but it’s strained,” a source exclusively told Us in a recent cover story. “Their friendship is not what it used to be.”

The insider noted that Swift was “uncomfortable” with her name being included in the lawsuit.

“Taylor’s biggest issue seems to be protecting herself emotionally and legally,” the source explained. “She’s always been someone who values loyalty, and right now, she’s navigating how to preserve that while also setting boundaries in a complicated, high-stakes situation.”

'American Idol' Winners: Where Are Fantasia Barrino and More Now?

19 May 2025 at 06:52

American Idol paved the way for reality competition shows to help everyday people achieve their dreams of music stardom.

The series premiered in 2002 on Fox with a star-studded judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. American Idol‘s freshman season introduced Kelly Clarkson, who would become the show’s first breakout star.

The three judges reunited in September 2019 on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where they admitted they weren’t certain the show’s premise could work — until Clarkson walked through the door.

“I actually, genuinely do not believe we would be sitting here today if you hadn’t entered the show that year,” Cowell said.

Jackson added, “We looked at each other at the end of the finale and said, ‘Wow, this thing is really gonna work.’ I think that was the moment that we knew.”

After winning the inaugural title, the Texas native signed a record deal with RCA Records and released her debut album, Thankful, in 2003. Later that year, Clarkson costarred in the movie From Justin to Kelly with season 1 runner-up, Justin Guarini. She went on to release 10 studio albums and has won three Grammys, including for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2006 and 2013. She published the children’s book, River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, in 2016.
Clarkson became a coach on season 14 of The Voice in 2018. One year later, she became the host of her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The songstress married talent manager Brandon Blackstock in 2013, and Us confirmed that she filed for divorce in June 2020. The former couple, who finalized their split in 2022, are the parents of daughter River Rose and son Remington. Clarkson addressed her divorce on her 10th studio album, Chemistry, which was released in 2023.

Studdard — who was dubbed American Idol’s “velvet teddy bear” — beat out season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken in 2003. Studdard released his first album, Soulful, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. The Alabama native released a gospel album in 2004 before switching back to R&B in 2006 with his album, The Return. However, his label, J Records, dropped him in 2007. He released his latest album, Ruben Sings Luther — a tribute to the late Luther Vandross — in 2018.
Studdard made his return to reality TV when he competed on season 15 of The Biggest Loser as the show’s first-ever celebrity contestant. He married Zuri McCants in 2008, but the pair divorced in 2012.

Barrino released her Grammy-nominated debut album, Free Yourself, in 2004 after she won season 3. She later earned 12 Grammy nominations and one Grammy win for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in 2011. Barrino has recorded a total of seven studio albums including her 2019 album, Sketchbook.
The singer took on Broadway when she starred in the musicals The Color Purple in 2007 and After Midnight in 2013. Barrino also opened up about her personal life in her memoir, Fantasia: Life Is Not a Fairytale, which was turned into a Lifetime movie in 2006. In 2010, Barrino starred in her VH1 reality series, Fantasia for Real, for two seasons. Later that year, she suffered from an aspirin overdose which she later admitted was a suicide attempt.
Barrino married businessman Kendall Taylor in 2015. In May 2021, the pair welcomed their first child together, daughter Keziah. Barrino is also the mother of daughter Zion and son Dallas from previous relationships.
Barrino reprised her role as Celie in the 2023 film adaptation of The Color Purple. During a December 2023 interview with The New York Times, she opened up about the challenges of returning to the emotional subject matter.
“There were times that I just felt like I’m not going to make it. I cannot do it. I would cry going to set. I would cry leaving set,” she said. “I would talk to God, and I would tell him, ‘You’ve got to make this make sense. Make it make sense. There’s got to be something out of this.’ It was so hard.”
Shortly before the interview, Barrino learned that she’d been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for the film.
“That was my prayer. Like, Lord, don’t let my work be in vain, meaning not for awards, but meaning, let these girls see — you are beautiful,” she told the outlet. “You’re placed on this Earth for a reason. You’re brilliant. You’re smart. You are seen. And you can fall, but you can get back up.”

Underwood scored the winning title on season 4 in 2005 before she released her debut album, Some Hearts, which included the singles “Jesus Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats.” The Tennessee native recorded six studio albums, which awarded her seven Grammys — the most of any Idol winner. She also set the 2010 Guinness World Record for most country No. 1 songs for a female artist in the U.S. The “Drinking Alone” singer made her acting debut as Maria von Trapp in NBC’s The Sound of Music: Live in 2013.
In November 2017, Underwood fell on the steps outside of her house in Nashville, Tennessee, which resulted in a broken wrist and 40 stitches to her face.
Underwood married hockey player Mike Fisher in 2010. The couple share sons Isaiah and Jacob.

Hicks beat out runner-up Katharine McPhee on season 5 in 2006 with the help of his loyal fanbase, Soul Patrol. He released his self-titled debut album later that year. After poor record sales, Hicks was dropped from his record label in 2008, which caused him to form his own label, Modern Whomp. The Alabama native recorded three studio albums and released his latest single, “Six Strings and Diamond Rings,” in 2017. Hicks starred on Broadway in Grease in 2008 before joining the national tour in 2009.
He landed a Las Vegas residency in 2012 — a first for an Idol winner. Hicks is co-owner of Saw’s Juke Joint in Birmingham, Alabama, and host of INSP’s food and travel series, State Plate.

Sparks released her self-titled first album in 2007 after winning season 6 that year. The album included the hit singles “Tattoo” and “No Air,” which featured Chris Brown. Sparks has released three studio albums and earned one Grammy nomination.
The Arizona native starred in the 2010 Broadway musical In the Heights and the 2012 movie Sparkle alongside the late Whitney Houston. In 2016, Sparks appeared in a pilot for the reality series Sugar and Sparks — which chronicled her journey to open a bakery — on the Food Network. The episode was not picked up for a full series.
Sparks had a high-profile relationship with Jason Derulo from 2011 to 2014. She returned to the music scene later that year with the mixtape, #ByeFelicia. Sparks married fitness model Dana Isaiah in 2017 and welcomed their son, Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr., in May 2018.

The Arkansas native was in a car accident in 2013, which left him with a shattered wrist that needed three surgeries over the following years. His accident forced him to re-learn playing the guitar.
Allen married his high school sweetheart, Katy O’Connell, in 2008. The duo are the parents of sons Marlo and Oliver and daughter Rose.

The Georgia native was in a legal battle over his contract with American Idol’s production company 19 Entertainment in 2015, which prevented him from releasing new music. The lawsuit was settled in 2017.

I felt like it would be something that I did for fun, you know, relive an old moment or memory, you know?” Just Sam said during a November 2023 interview, per The Washington Post. “But I literally could not afford to pay my rent. I couldn’t afford to eat.”

Jessica Biel Was 'A Little Afraid' of Beverly Mitchell During '7th Heaven'

19 May 2025 at 06:30

7th Heaven fans might be surprised to know that Jessica Biel was “secretly a little afraid” of Beverly Mitchell.

“I say this with all the love in the world — because I love her — she was tough, man,” Biel, 43, told InStyle during an interview published on Monday, May 19. “I pushed her buttons.”

Similar to their dynamic on screen, the duo had “a sisterly relationship,” with Biel adding, “I think I did it because I looked up to her and I loved her. We got under each other’s skin in the best way possible.”

Biel reflected on her time playing Mary, crediting 7th Heaven for its influence on her as an actress.

‘7th Heaven’ Cast Through the Years: Where Are They Now?

“What I remember most, probably, is the camaraderie of all the kids,” she said. “The ability to have that longevity and stamina, that’s a huge part of what I can do kind of easily, because it’s what I did ever since I was little.”

She added: “I definitely work with people now who talk about, ‘Man, these hours are long’ and ‘Man, this is a long schedule.’ And I’m like, ‘Is it?’”

7th Heaven, which ran from 1996 to 2007, followed a minister living in the fictional town of Glen Oak, California, as he and his wife dealt with the drama of raising seven children. In addition to Biel and Mitchell, 44, the ensemble cast also included Stephen Collins, Barry Watson, David Gallagher, Mackenzie Rosman and Catherine Hicks.

The hit series aired for 10 seasons before it was canceled at The WB. When The WB became The CW, the show was given one more season but was canceled for good in 2007.

Biel, for her part, went on to appear in a variety of movie roles including Valentine’s Day, The A-Team, New Year’s Eve, Total Recall and Hitchcock. She admitted to InStyle that “playing the girlfriend” role over and over left her feeling “creatively uninteresting.”

“It was at a time when men’s stories were really important. Where’s my Mad Men?” she noted. “It just felt like a bummer, like, ‘When is somebody going to see that I have more to offer them?’”

More recently, Biel expanded her focus to being an executive producer on TV shows such as Cruel Summer, The Sinner, Candy and Prime Video’s The Better Sister, in which she stars alongside Elizabeth Banks. Biel’s success behind the scenes has only made her more hungry to explore different avenues in the entertainment industry.

Celebrities Who Became BFFs With Their Costars

“I’m still not working with [some of] the A-list directors of my dreams, you know? So, I don’t feel like, ‘Done it. Did it.’ What more can I do?” she explained. “I feel like I have so much more to go, not in a weird, dysfunctional way, just like, ‘Man, there’s a lot of people I haven’t been able to work with that I want to work with.’”

Biel even named some of the people on her wish list, saying, “I love a good manifestation. David Fincher, he’s one of my favorites, favorite favorites. And so many actresses that are incredible — the Helen Mirrens of the world, the Olivia Colmans of the world. And then, I haven’t worked with almost any women that are peers of mine besides Elizabeth [Banks]. Now it’s stories about sisters and families and friendships, so I’m hoping for more of that in the future. What more ladies can I work with?”

She concluded: “It’s such a delicate business, one thing goes away and everything falls apart. People have to trust and take risks. You gotta risk it for the biscuit. That’s a new thing [my husband] Justin [Timberlake] and I are saying: ‘You gotta risk it for the biscuit.’ I don’t even know what it means, like, tangibly.'”

'American Idol' Winners Through the Years

19 May 2025 at 06:27

A lasting impact. Since it initially aired in June 2002, American Idol has made many dreams come true for its winners.

“When I was a little girl … if you had asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I would have told you I wanted to be a famous country music singer,” season 4 winner Carrie Underwood told fans during her concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville in September 2019. “As I got older, dreams tend to give way to practicalities, so I started going to school to get a real job. One day there was an open door, and I walked through it and my life was changed forever.”

Underwood is not the only past winner whose life was changed after appearing on American Idol. For Jordin Sparks, the experience was even more unique because she was a fan of the hit competition show first.

“I was such a huge fan of Idol that I was more excited to audition for that than to get my driver’s license,” Sparks told AZCentral in August 2017. “That’s how a big a fan I was.”

The season 6 winner admitted that being on a show like American Idol was overwhelming. Following her win, Sparks suffered from “bad anxiety and panic attacks” as a result of how quickly things changed in her life.

“The down side is a lot of sacrifice and being alone — not lonely, but alone,” she reflected. “I’m a huge family person and not being able to make some things — that’s not easy. But my family has been completely understanding and they are so great and supportive. There are times when I want to go to see my nieces and [think], ‘Crap, I have an interview and I can’t go.’ So it’s hard, but I’ve learned how to balance things. It took a while, but I think I’ve got the hang of it and I’m happy about it now.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Her ‘Text Friendship’ With Meghan Markle

19 May 2025 at 06:06

When Meghan Markle launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, a lot of people wondered if Gwyneth Paltrow would regard her as serious competition for her own wellness empire, Goop — but it turns out the two ambitious women have actually bonded over their common interests.

Speaking at the Mindvalley Manifesting Summit in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 17, Paltrow, 52, revealed that she and the Duchess of Sussex have even been chatting over text. “We have a text friendship so far,” she told People. She added that she’s “been traveling quite a bit,” making an IRL meetup tricky despite she and husband Brad Falchuk living in the same Montecito, California neighborhood as Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry.

Paltrow said that she doesn’t like the idea of being compared to Meghan. “I don‘t like that, when people try to pit women against each other,” she said. In fact, Paltrow even revealed that she would be open to appearing on the second season of Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, in which the duchess makes recipes and other creations while chatting about life with a few high-profile friends. “Sure!” said Paltrow. “Why not? You never know. I don’t bake that well, but I can always try.”

It’s not the first time both Paltrow and Meghan have been at pains to emphasize that they’re on good terms. “I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” the actress told Vanity Fair in March, when the comparisons between Goop and As ever were first drawn. “I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. Another woman is never your competition.”

What Meghan Markle's Friends, Colleagues Said About Her and Public Opinion

Also in March, the two women responded to rumors of their beef in very amusing style on Instagram stories, when Paltrow shared a question she’d been asked in a follower Q&A, which read, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?” Paltrow said “I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever” before moving her camera to show that she and Meghan were sitting at the same kitchen table.

Really, it makes total sense that these two would be friends — they have a ton in common, from acting to wellness to famous husbands. And Meghan’s interest in all things wellbeing goes way back: she launched her food and lifestyle blog The Tig in 2014, long before she met Prince Harry in 2017. Paltrow’s Goop, meanwhile, has been going since 2008, initially as a weekly newsletter, but now an empire worth an estimated $250 million.

The truth is, a potential collab between the two would be a huge deal for both of them — plus, they have enough crucial differences to both stand out. After all, we can’t ever see Meghan launching a vagina candle

Queen Latifah Reveals If 'Equalizer' Could Return After Surprise Cancelation

19 May 2025 at 06:00

For many CBS viewers, The Equalizer came to an end too soon — but is there a chance Queen Latifah‘s show could return?

“It is a little out of my hands in terms of what happens with it from this point forward,” Latifah, 55, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Novo Nordisk. “But I do appreciate what we were able to do and we made some good TV.”

Latifah noted how proud she was of the final product, adding, “I am processing [the cancellation]. It occurred to me that it has been such a big part of my life for the last — more than — five years actually. I’m thankful. I’m very grateful. I’m in a very grateful place. I’m grateful to the fans of the show for sticking with it.”

The experience was a positive highlight in Latifah’s prolific career.

Which TV Shows Are Canceled in 2025-2026?

“I appreciate CBS putting us on and my producing partners and the wonderful cast I got to work with,” Latifah continued. “They became my family. There is also this wonderful crew, writers, showrunners and everybody was involved in it. And really the fans who rocked with us.”

While reflecting on The Equalizer‘s time on CBS, Latifah acknowledged the challenges, which included delays over the times.

What The Equalizer Had Planned for Season 6 Before Cancellation
CBS

“Whether the time got moved here or there, the fans are approaching me on the street, like, ‘Where is my show?’” she added before joking, “I’m tired of getting rolled up on because sometimes they choose violence when they want their show. I’m just kidding. They have to tune in [whenever it aired].”

Based on the original series of the same name, The Equalizer, which premiered in 2021, centered on Queen Latifah’s character who used her mysterious background and extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Days before the show wrapped up its fifth season, CBS confirmed that The Equalizer was canceled.

The decision not to bring The Equalizer back came after fans questioned online why every Sunday shows on CBS — including Tracker and Watson — were pushed back. The answer is sports, since CBS is home to football broadcasts, but that has affected Tracker, Watson and The Equalizer’s airtime.

“I made this show for my grandmother — who’s sitting right in that recliner watching it. And she just said, ‘I just love that action.’ Then some of the guys in my life, they’re like, ‘I just love the family aspect].’ It’s just so interesting what people love about The Equalizer,” Latifah noted to Us. “But I appreciate everyone that tuned in to watch it. They can still catch it on Netflix and they’ll catch the 72 episodes that there are to watch.”

Latifah continued: “I am onto the next one. There will be a lot more to come. Y’all know me, I’m always going to do something else and so will this brilliant cast. So just keep an eye out for them and all the wonderful things they’re going to do.”

Which Broadcast TV Shows Are Still Not Renewed?

Currently, Latifah is focused on partnering with Novo Nordisk to highlight the increased risk of cardiovascular-related conditions.

“Obesity is a disease and many people are living with it. It impacts 2 out of 5 Americans. That is a lot of people — and it disproportionately affects people of color and it’s a chronic disease. But it’s manageable. So the goal is to bring attention to this,” Latifah explained. “Many people are living with this disease. But also it is important to raise awareness about the connection between living with obesity and cardiovascular disease. 70 percent of people living with obesity are at risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, heart attack or a stroke. We want to make sure that they are aware of this and that if they can do something about it that they’re able to do.”

Latifah added: “There’s a website we have called TruthAboutWeight.com where people can go to get lots of information and then hopefully talk to their physician about what to do next or how to have a conversation with someone that they’re concerned about who’s living with obesity and create a plan. So we can start knocking these numbers.”

‘American Idol’ Runner-Up John Foster Reacts to Season 23 Loss

19 May 2025 at 05:48

American Idol season 23 runner-up John Foster is feeling some type of way after his loss.

“Man, what a true blessing to share this Idol stage with so many incredible heroes, both new faces and legends,” the 18-year-old singer shared via Instagram on Sunday, May 18. “I’m beyond thankful, and I can’t wait to keep making music for y’all as long as the good Lord lets me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart — times a million.”

Foster was up against Breanna Nix and Jamal Roberts during Sunday’s finale, performing Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” and Randy Travis’ “Deeper than the Holler” alongside judge Luke Bryan. Foster also performed “We Are the Champions” with the remaining two finalists.

The Louisiana native had impressed the judges during season 23 auditions with his version of “Goodbye Time” by Conway Twitty, which got him a golden ticket into the competition.

American Idol's Season Finale Is Almost Here: Who Made the Top 3?

Bryan, 48, and fellow judge Carrie Underwood both took to X after his March audition and praised the up-and-coming star.

“I absolutely love John Foster!!! He looks and sounds like a 90s Country superstar!!!” Underwood, 42, shared on social media at the time. “AND we all know that was the PRIME era of Country! I can’t wait to see what he does and what America thinks.”

Disney/Christopher Willard

Underwood also speculated that Foster might take home the American Idol crown during an episode that aired earlier this month.

“I felt like I had this diamond in the rough standing right in front of me,” Underwood said during the show’s May 12 episode. “I had to do a little convincing on my fellow judges, but I love that you’re standing here right now, proving me right. And I’m going to tell you right now, if you ain’t real careful, you might just win this whole thing.”

Judge Lionel Richie shared a similar sentiment, praising Foster’s vocal abilities.

“I am totally in love with the timbre of your voice,” he said at the time. “I call it ‘instant identity.’ I know that’s you on your first note. That’s what makes an artist. The difference between a singer and a stylist is, I know your voice in three notes.”

A Look Back at Carrie Underwood's 'American Idol' Winning Season

Despite praise from the judges, Foster came in second during Sunday’s finale. When Roberts, 27, was crowned the winner, the two singers had a sweet moment on the stage with Foster offering congratulatory pats on the back.

Foster might have lost the competition, but he previously spoke about feeling like a winner no matter what happens.

“I’ve been saying since I won the golden ticket that I feel like I’ve won,” Foster said during a recent interview with a local Louisiana outlet. “To think that I’ve continued to progress, all the way up to the top three, is amazing.”

'The Handmaid's Tale' Series Finale Will Have an 'Honest Conclusion'

19 May 2025 at 05:30

The Handmaid’s Tale is coming to an end after six seasons — and the series finale won’t sugarcoat the story.

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, coshowrunners Yahlin Chang and Eric Tuchman teased the final two episodes of the show.

“I think we can expect an honest conclusion to the story. We keep using the word honest because we try our best to be realistic,” Tuchman noted. “What would happen in real life — and what we hope people take away — is this feeling of hopefulness and resilience that June and many of the other characters have demonstrated and will demonstrate in the last couple of episodes.”

With June (Elisabeth Moss) finally leading the resistance, viewers should expect genuine twists and turns, with Tuchman adding, “When you’re up against an oppressive regime and when your rights are stripped away, you just never stop fighting. You keep going. Hopefully people will draw some optimism and feel empowered by what plays out.”

Everything ‘The Handmaid's Tale’ Cast Said About the Show Ending

Chang, meanwhile, specifically praised the ninth episode of the season.

“It is really the most epic episode of the entire series. It’s incredibly satisfying because we’ve teased even in the marketing that the revolution is here,” she explained. “You really get that in episode 9 and it comes to the forefront. It is so emotional and amazing.”

After wrapping the series, Chang told Us she found herself rewatching that specific episode as a way to “pump myself up.”

The Handmaid's Tale Stages Deadly Revolution
Disney/Steve Wilkie

” It is really like a tour de force. We wanted audience members to be jumping out of their seats and so excited, so happy and to feel so good,” she added. “It’s amazing. Our fans are amazing that they have stuck with us through a lot of bad moments. So they, more than anyone, deserve some feel good moments. That really gets delivered in episode 9.”

Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, The Handmaid’s Tale takes place in a dystopian future where low fertility rates have resulted in women being forcefully assigned to men for the sole purpose of bearing children. In addition to Moss, Samira Wiley, Yvonne Strahovski, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Max Minghella and Amanda Brugel have led the cast since the show’s premiere.

'The Handmaid's Tale' Cast: See the Hulu Show's Stars Then and Now

Executive producer Warren Littlefield also called the show’s finale “really satisfying,” sharing with Us in April, “Living in the world of Gilead for our audience is sometimes a tough journey. But I think their patience will be rewarded because this final year is ordinary women doing extraordinary things. The revolution is here and they’re highly effective. There’s joy. Is there still a Gilead? Yeah. But we celebrate what they accomplish and I think it’ll be very satisfying for the audience.”

Viewers, however, shouldn’t expect to get all their questions answered.

“We are going to begin a journey right away with The Testaments. That is still a world that has Gilead. But it’s a completely different point of view,” he teased. “We will satisfy and really deliver triumphantly for our audience who’s been with us through six seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale. They will want and be curious to see more and see where The Testaments goes.”

The Handmaid’s Tale airs Tuesdays on Hulu.

Stars React to Joe Biden's 'Aggressive' Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

19 May 2025 at 05:20

Celebrities and other high-profile figures are sharing their well-wishes for former President Joe Biden.

Biden’s office announced on Sunday, May 18, that the former U.S. president has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” said a statement. “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

The statement added, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Joe, 82, and his family, including wife Dr. Jill Biden, are currently “reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement concluded.

Since the news broke, President Donald Trump, former President Barack Obama and more have shared their thoughts with the Bidens. Scroll down to read what they said:

President Donald Trump

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” Trump wrote via his Truth Social account.

Barack Obama

In a post shared via X on Sunday, Obama wrote, “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery.”

Kamala Harris

The former vice president sent well-wishes on behalf of herself and her husband, Doug Emhoff, via X.

“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time,” Harris wrote. “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

The daughter of Joe’s longtime friend, the late John McCain, shared via X: “Cancer is the absolute worst. It is hell. It is incredibly difficult for any family, anywhere that has to deal with it. Wishing nothing but healing, prayers, light and strength to President Biden and his family.”

She concluded, “I don’t believe times like these are appropriate for politics.”

Meghan and Joe made headlines in 2017 when he comforted her on the set of The View after she broke down in tears over her father’s cancer battle. (McCain died in August 2018.)

The Today weather anchor, who previously battled prostate cancer, showed his support for Joe via Instagram.

“Sending out prayers and a good outcome for President @joebiden after hearing about his #prostatecancer diagnosis. General Hospital's Steve Burton Marries Michelle Lundstrom After Divorce

19 May 2025 at 05:19

General Hospital star Steve Burton has found a happy ending with new wife Michelle Lundstrom.

The 54-year-old actor married Lundstrom on Saturday, May 17, surrounded by family in an intimate Orthodox church ceremony. They celebrated the milestone with a reception at Montage Laguna Beach in California.

“This day isn’t just about a ceremony,” Burton gushed to People. “It’s the beginning of forever with the love of my life.”

According to the outlet, some of Burton’s General Hospital pals were on hand to celebrate the happy couple. (Jonathan Jackson and wife Lisa Vultaggio were included in the wedding party.)

Burton’s three children — daughters Makena, 21, and Brooklyn, 10, and son Jack, 19 — had roles in the special occasion, as did Lundstrom’s daughters from a previous relationship — Lilah, 14, and Hannah, 10. Her daughters also helped choose the perfect wedding dress: a strapless gown custom-made by Lee Petra Grebenau.

“When I tried on my dress I knew it was the one,” Lundstrom said. “I came out to show my girls and they both said, ‘That’s the one, Mom!’ We all knew.”

As they begin their next chapter together, Lundstrom gushed that she has “never felt so safe and loved” before — and the feeling is mutual. “I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, growing together each day in faith and love,” Burton added. “Honestly, I’ve never felt so loved and cared for in my entire life. I’m incredibly grateful to have her by my side. She is the most amazing, beautiful, and selfless woman I’ve ever known. I love her so much.”

For Lundstrom, finding love with Burton feels just like a fairy tale. “He’s like pure sunshine — always uplifting, endlessly caring. His love makes me a better person every single day,” the bride said. “To have the most incredible man I’ve ever known by my side forever brings me so much peace and happiness. He is the love of my life, and I feel so blessed to call him mine.”

The soap star was previously married to Sheree Burton from 1999 to 2023. Steve filed for divorce in July 2022, two months after alleging that Sheree was pregnant with another man’s baby. In documents obtained by Us Weekly, he listed their date of separation as March 1 and cited “irreconcilable differences.”

The exes reached a settlement in December 2023, agreeing to share joint legal and physical custody of their younger children. Steve was ordered to pay Sheree $12,500 per month in child support until April 2024, with the amount reduced to $10,000 per month thereafter. He also owed $2,500 per month in additional support until his payments reached a total of $50,000.

Sheree gave birth to her fourth child, daughter Izabella, in February 2023. “I know I’m far from perfect but my kids know they’re loved and ultimately that’s really all that matters. 💕,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

One year later, Sheree announced that she welcomed her fifth baby, daughter Addy Jay. She has not publicly identified the father of her youngest children.

Steve, meanwhile, proposed to Lundstrom in January after confirming their romance in May 2024.

Former President Joe Biden Breaks Silence After Cancer Diagnosis

19 May 2025 at 05:03

Former President Joe Biden is speaking out after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“Cancer touches us all,” he captioned an Instagram post on Monday, May 19. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

The politician, 82, shared a selfie with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, who held a cat in her arms in the photo. Well-wishes flooded the comments section, including a message from Today show personality Jill Martin, who wrote, “Sending love and prayers.”

News broke of Joe’s diagnosis on Sunday, May 18. “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” read a statement from his personal office to CNN. “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

The statement continued, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Joe and his family were “reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” per the statement.

The former first couple share daughter Ashley, while Joe shared daughter Naomi, son Hunter and late son Beau with late first wife Neilia Biden. Beau was 46 years old when he died in 2015 after battling brain cancer.

“He knew his time was up and, one night, we were having dinner at our home before he was hospitalized, and he said, ‘Dad, can we talk?'” Joe recalled in an April 2024 interview with Howard Stern. “He said, ‘Promise me that you won’t leave public life [and public office]. I know when I go, you’ll want to quit. Give me your word as a Biden.’ … I gave him my word.”

Following news of Joe’s own health battle, former President Barack Obama issued a heartfelt message of support. (Joe served as Obama’s vice president throughout two terms in the White House from 2009 to 2017.)

“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama tweeted on Sunday.

Meghan McCain also sent her best to the Biden family nearly 10 years after sharing an emotional moment with Joe on The View in the wake of the late John McCain‘s 2017 brain tumor diagnosis.

“Cancer is the absolute worst. It is hell,” she wrote via X on Sunday. “It is incredibly difficult for any family, anywhere that has to deal with it. Wishing nothing but healing, prayers, light and strength to President Biden and his family.”

She concluded, “I don’t believe times like these are appropriate for politics.”

Victoria Beckham Shares Love for Son Brooklyn Amid Family Drama

19 May 2025 at 03:55

Victoria Beckham made a public declaration of love for all four of her children amid ongoing speculation about the relationship between her eldest son, Brooklyn, and his parents following his no-show at dad David’s recent 50th birthday celebrations.

Posting to her Instagram Stories on Monday, May 19, Victoria, 51, shared a cute photo of her parents, Jackie and Anthony, alongside Brooklyn, 26, and his siblings, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13. She accompanied the photo with the words, “We both love you all so much,” and a heart emoji.

The affectionate post came a day after Victoria also tagged Brooklyn in a selection of family throwback photos to celebrate Anthony’s birthday. So far, Brooklyn hasn’t reshared or acknowledged any of his mom’s content. He has, however, used his Instagram Stories to share pictures and appeals from his wife Nicola Peltz’s rescue dog shelter.

The Beckham family has allegedly been navigating a difficult time in recent months, with Brooklyn and Nicola seemingly distancing themselves from his parents and siblings. The Beckhams threw several different events to celebrate David’s milestone birthday on May 2, including a black-tie meal in London and a family party in the Cotswolds, but the young couple were conspicuously absent.

“David and Victoria are over it,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier in May of the perceived drama. “They’ve thrown in the towel over the whole thing. David and Victoria just want to treat everyone the same and approach life like a family, and the family does things a certain way, but Brooklyn isn’t playing it like that, and everything is a drama.”

While it’s not known why Brooklyn and Nicola skipped the birthday celebrations, a second source claimed to Us that there was lingering tension between the actress and Victoria.  Rumors of a feud began circulating in 2022 after Nicola didn’t wear a wedding gown made by her future mother-in-law’s eponymous fashion brand. Victoria, Nicola and Brooklyn, however, all denied any bad blood or hurt feelings.

What Brooklyn Beckham Has Said About His Relationships With Parents, Siblings

The latest twist in the saga broke on Thursday, May 15, when reports emerged that Brooklyn and Nicola had joined Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a VIP group dinner at their home in Montecito, California. With the Sussexes in the middle of a very high-profile rift with the royals, the world couldn’t help but wonder if the two couples might have discussed their eerily similar family dramas.

Victoria, meanwhile, has been eager to show how blissful life is chez Beckham. On Sunday, May 18, she shared a photo of a heart-shaped shortbread cookie David had baked for her. “Apparently they taste great!” she wrote, alongside a laughing emoji, implying she hadn’t tasted the treat yet.

Tom Cruise Plans to Make Movies Into His 100s: 'I Will Never Stop'

19 May 2025 at 03:52

Tom Cruise has another near-impossible mission on his hands.

The Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning star, 62, revealed his grand ambitions to continue making movies well past the age of 100.

During the New York City premiere of the latest Mission: Impossible movie on Sunday, May 18, Cruise was reminded of a quote he gave a couple of years ago that he wants to continue making movies into his 80s.

Now, he’s pushing that goalpost even further.

Tom Cruise Through the Years

“Maybe, movies, I’m actually going to make them into my 100s,” Cruise shared with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet. “I will never stop. I will never stop doing action. I will never stop doing drama, comedy films. I’m excited.”

Cruise’s latest film marks the eighth and seemingly final installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise. The actor has played secret agent Ethan Hunt in the action franchise for almost three decades. (The first Mission: Impossible hit theaters in 1996.)

While there have been hints (the title, for one) that Final Reckoning could be the last Mission: Impossible film ever, Cruise has avoided confirming or denying whether the franchise is coming to an end.

“You gotta see the movie,” he told Empire in an interview published in February. “It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment because it really is something that you have to experience.”

Tom Cruise’s Dating History: A Look Back at His A-List Romances

Cruise described Final Reckoning as “an epic, emotional journey of the entire franchise.”

Director Christopher McQuarrie also played coy in the interview, teasing the future of Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character, a spy who specializes in completing (as the title suggests) ostensibly impossible missions.

“It is, I hope, the satisfying conclusion to a 30-year story arc,” McQuarrie, 56, told the outlet. “I’m pretty confident that people are going to feel that the title was appropriate.”

Cruise made headlines last week after he praised Ana de Armas’ latest blockbuster, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, amid ongoing speculation that the two are dating.

“I saw the movie, which kicks ass,” Cruise said, per footage shared via social media. “Oh, man, it’s right in that tone. It’s right in that big world, and you’re gonna love it.”

What's Going on With Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas? An Insider Explains

A source recently told Us Weekly that de Armas, 37, and Cruise had gone on a few dates amid rumors of a romance.

“It’s low-key, still new and in the early stages,” the insider exclusively told Us. “Their romance is definitely on the down-low.”

According to the source, de Armas and Cruise met through mutual friends, including Penélope Cruz.

“Penélope put in a good word for her both personally and professionally,” the source added.
