Dakota Johnson just proved that a maxi skirt is all you need to turn a basic beach look into something special. She paired a Dôen Elowena silk skirt with a basic bikini top, creating a look that’s polished and easygoing. If you’re after that same breezy, romantic vibe, Amazon has a lookalike that shoppers swear by, and it’s just $34.
This version features a soft satin fabric that drapes beautifully and a wide waistband that’s flattering and easy to style. It’s the kind of skirt that works just as well with a tank and sandals for a casual day out as it does with a dressier top and heels for dinner.
Shoppers love how versatile and affordable it is. One wrote, “I was going on a cruise and was looking for a satin skirt that was well-made and affordable. I ordered this skirt and received so many compliments! It definitely looks as good as skirts 10x the price.”
Another reviewer shared, “The skirt is very pretty with a wide waistband, soft-to-the-touch material, and the perfect thickness to not be see-through but still have nice movement.”
Some petite shoppers have also praised the fit. “I’m 5’1” and bought this midi to use as a long skirt. It comes right above my ankles. Just what I was looking for,” one shopper said.
If you want Dakota’s summer-ready maxi skirt style without blowing your budget, this Amazon option is an easy, stylish and wallet-friendly choice that actually lives up to the hype.
“Love makes the world go round… and in the times you feel heavy… KNOW… you are special. Peace is a state of mind. And your mind is all that can tell you otherwise,” Kelley, 48, wrote via Instagram on Friday, July 4. “I love you all and I am HAPPY. And that’s OK… it’s OK to hold many things at once. We are dynamic… and I am ready to begin again…”
Kelley shared a video alongside her message, featuring a porch set up with multiple drinks and beverages. The upload was set to John Mellencamp’s track “Small Town.”
Kelley and Scott, now 57, tied the knot in 2004 before welcoming kids Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11. News broke in June that the Party of Five actor filed for divorce.
“After 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife Kelley,” he said in a statement at the time. “Our children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.”
Kelley also addressed the split in a statement, sharing that it has been a “long, quiet journey” for her that was “rooted in hope, patience and care for our children.”
“While I will not speak publicly about the details, I feel peace knowing that I’ve done everything I can to walk this path with integrity and compassion,” she said at the time.
Days later, Us confirmed that Kelley was detained by Utah authorities amid filming an Instagram Live after she made “concerning” comments regarding her relationship with Scott. Kelley was hospitalized and later released, claiming that her hospitalization was ordered against her will.
Later that month, Us exclusively confirmed that a judge granted Scott a temporary restraining order against Kelley. He was also awarded temporary sole physical and legal custody of their kids, with sole and exclusive use and possession of their home in Park City, Utah.
Amid the drama, a source close to Kelley weighed in on her mindset. “It’s so sad for the kids, but Kelley is ready to fight like hell for her children,” the insider told Us. “It is not warranted, it’s cruel. And it’s incorrect.”
Twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry are ringing in their shared birthday by celebrating each other.
On Sunday, July 6, Tia shared three photos featuring herself, her sister and their brothers Tajh and Tavior via Instagram. “And just like that we are 47,” she wrote.
Tamera also noted the big day on social media via a series of collages and throwback photos of herself and Tia shared on Instagram.
“Happy 47th birthday to my twin, Tia! It’s crazy to think we’ve been doing life together for 47 years,” she wrote “From the silly moments to the tough ones, you’ve always had this determination to keep going and growing — no matter what life throws your way.”
She continued, “I love you more than words can say. Here’s to us, to sisterhood, and spending our birthday today! Together.”

The sisters have been through a lot together since their cult classic TV series Sister, Sister debuted in April 1994 — and that has sometimes included periods in which they weren’t as close.
In a trailer for the WeTV docuseries Tia Mowry: My Next Act released in September 2024, Tia said she and her sister had previously grown apart.
“I’ve always wanted the family dynamic of having a mom and a dad in one household. When you’re dropping your kids off, you actually visually see how that is no longer,” she said. “Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce.”
She continued, “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her, but that’s just not where we are right now.”

But in November 2024, Tamera made it clear there was no drama with her sister. While speaking about her family’s plans for the Christmas holidays when she said that she and her husband had invited Tia to spend the time with them.
“My husband and I have been doing this since we’ve been together, so it’s about 20 years,” she explained. “We start on Christmas Eve. We invite everyone to our house that maybe doesn’t have a place, their family is not around. We bake cookies and we have a little, it’s not like a big party, but a get-together.”
She added, “Every Christmas, we invite our entire family. This year my sister’s invited, my brothers, my mom, my dad, pretty much everybody in the family. And we make Christmas beef. It usually ends up being a roast beef with mashed potatoes, green beans. Those are some of the staples, with a Christmas drink that I look for. We just get together and enjoy each other.”
Shakira is reaching out to help the victims of and families devastated by the ongoing floods in central Texas.
“Dear San Antonio, Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas,” Shakira wrote on X on Saturday, July 5. “We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted.”
She continued, “If you would like to join me in donating, please click on the link below. Your help is important and appreciated.” The singer added a link to a donation platform operated by Catholic Charities.
The singer’s performance in Texas Saturday night was her last until her tour resumes in California in August.
At least 70 people have died after flash floods consumed Texas Hill Country over the holiday weekend. Rescuers attempted to assist as many people as they could along the banks of the Guadalupe River, where water levels rose rapidly while many residents were sleeping. A dozen children are missing from Camp Mystic, a children’s summer camp located in the area at the time of the flood.
Of those 70, at least 59 are residents of Kerr County. The deceased include 38 adults and 21 children. At the time of publication, 11 girls and one counselor are still presumed missing from the camp. While Kerr County is considered the epicenter of the flooding, some of the victims lived in other parts of the state, including Burnet County, Tom Green county, Travis County, and Williamson County.

President Trump declared a state of emergency for Kerr County on Sunday, July 6.
The flooding happened after the river broke its banks following a period of rapid and intense rain, Reuters reported. Officials have been able to rescue more than 850 people, including some that found refuge in trees, the news outlet also noted.
According to Reuters, approximately 700 girls were attending Camp Mystic at the time of the floods.
“Our cabins at the tippity top of hills were completely flooded with water. I mean, y’all have seen the complete devastation, we never even imagined that this could happen,” counselor Katharine Somerville said in an interview on Fox News on Sunday. She added that all of her campers were safe and accounted for.
Photos from the scene show that water rose at least six feet from the floor in the cabins where the girls were sleeping, and some of the cabins are now missing walls that presumably washed away.
Ahead of their July 2016 nuptials, the couple spoke candidly about their decision to remain celibate until marriage.
“We’re hanging in there. I’m not gonna lie. I’m human, so it is not easy,” Ciara, who was already the mother of son Future Jr. from her previous relationship with ex-fiancé Future, told Cosmopolitan in February 2016. “Especially when I look at him and I think he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen — that I’ve ever laid my eyes on, to be honest. I’m like, ‘Look the other way! Look the other way!’”
After tying the knot, Ciara and Wilson went on to welcome daughter Sienna in 2017 and son Win in 2020. Their third baby, and Ciara’s fourth child, daughter Amora was born in December 2023.
Scroll down to relive Wilson and Ciara’s sweetest relationship moments:
The pair kept their budding romance private after being linked at NBC’s I Can Do That wrap party. “They were cozy in a booth together at the party,” an eyewitness exclusively told Us at the time, with multiple sources confirming that the duo were spending time together.
The athlete revealed that he and Ciara were abstaining from sex until they were married. “I asked her, ‘What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus’ way, no sex?'” Wilson said during an interview at The Rock Church. “I knew God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me and to bless so many people with the impact that she has and I have. We’re not going to be perfect, by any means.”
The singer’s rep confirmed to Us that Wilson proposed during a European getaway. “Following Paris Fashion Week, Russell surprised Ciara with a surprise holiday,” the rep told Us at the time. “She was shocked when they landed in the Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island. The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancé at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach, located on North Island.”
Us confirmed that the “Goodies” singer and the NFL star tied the knot in England surrounded by more than 100 friends and family members including six bridesmaids. La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland and Serena Williams were all in attendance.
The newlyweds joked about their sex life one day after walking down the aisle. “So, baby, you know what we’re doing tonight,” Ciara asked her husband in a Snapchat video in July 2016, to which Wilson said, “And what we did last night, I want to do multiple times.”
“I will forever win bc I get to come home to you every night,” Wilson wrote via Instagram alongside a kissing video with Ciara after his team, the Seattle Seahawks loss. “The love of my life. I love you. This past year has been full of so much joy & happiness. From getting Married to having our little one on the way, to your constant endless love. I couldn't be more grateful to have you in my life Mrs. Wilson. You make everyday a perfect day. #ForeverGrateful.”
The lovebirds welcomed their first child together, daughter Sienna, nine months after getting married. “Dear Sienna Princess Wilson, No matter how big the wave, we will always be your calm in the storm,” the musician wrote via Instagram, announcing her daughter’s birth. “We Love You. Love, Mommy & Daddy.”
“I’m grateful to God for the love he has given me, by putting you in my life,” the Texas native wrote via Instagram alongside a video of a plane pulling a custom one-year anniversary banner while on a trip to Mexico. “I have all that I need. Truly one of the best years of my life.”
Ciara gushed over her man after he surprised her with flowers on her birthday following her performance on Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic tour. “It was the best feeling because not only was it my birthday, but since he hasn’t been able to see me on tour yet,” she exclusively told Us of the moment. “Afterwards we had date night. The night was full of love.”
The twosome expanded their family once again in the summer of 2020 when they welcomed son Win into their lives. The duo announced his birth via Instagram.
The “Level Up” singer and her husband revealed during a game of “Never Have I Ever” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that they are members of the Mile High Club.
“Always Loving. Always Caring. Always There. Every day I get to see the power of God’s love through how you love our children, and how dedicated you are to seeing them grow to be everything God’s called them to be!” the “1, 2 Step” singer wrote via Instagram honoring Wilson. “We love you so much! You are our Rock! Happy Fathers Day Baby @DangeRussWilson! ❤️.”
The songstress and football player announced their joint R&C fragrance launch with a black-and-white photo together. “I’m grateful for the ability to build brands we love together. @ciara,” Wilson captioned the snap via Instagram. “This fragrance embodies so much of our love and the power of togetherness. We’ve got big plans for @randcfragrance. Keep watching this space. 🖤.”
After injuring his right middle finger during the Seahawks game against the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson underwent surgery. His wife showed support via Instagram, writing, “You’re the toughest Man I know. Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes. I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby #3 #RareBreed.”
“Perfect in every way. God made you for me. He made you to fit perfectly in my arms. Made you to be the amazing woman and mother you are. God made you to entertain the world with your gift to sing & dance!” the Ohio native wrote via Instagram on Ciara’s 36th birthday. “He gifted you with the ability to Tilt the room.. when you walk in ALL the furniture slides towards you. He gifted you with the ability to smile and bring joy to ALL things! Gifted you with the ability to LOVE. Happy Birthday my Queen @Ciara Heaven sent!”
Ciara told Entertainment Tonight that she wants to “enjoy” her “flat tummy” before welcoming another child, saying, “I look forward to the next baby when the time is right.”
During an interview on Kevin Hart's Laugh Out Loud radio show, Wilson recalled his first interaction with his now-wife, in which she roasted his worn-down wallet. "First day we met — and we had been talking for two-and-a-half hours, hanging out — she saw the wallet, sitting on the table. She said, 'What the hell is that? You're losing with that,'" he shared. "I put my finger [up] and said, 'First of all, with me, you're never losing.'"
He continued: "'Second of all, that wallet, that shows consistency. That's what you're going to get from me. You're going to get somebody who is consistent for you every day. Inside that wallet, there's something that's real in there.'"
The pair celebrated their five-year anniversary with an Italian getaway. While in Italy, they recreated Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s iconic photo from the same restaurant during the former couple’s 1985 visit. “You Always Make Me Feel Like A Princess,” Ciara captioned a series of snaps of her and Wilson posing as the royals.
Wilson surprised the “Love, Sex, Magic” singer with a new dog during a Mother’s Day celebration.
“Got a puppy! Her name is Bronco,” the Texas native said in an Instagram video showing off the new family pet. “Say hi, Bronco!”
The quarterback can be seen in the video standing beside his wife as he holds Bronco in his arms.
“Meet... BRONCO 🐶 The kids call her Bronco Love Brownie :)," she captioned the Instagram post, "The sweetest surprise. I love you baby @DangeRussWilson. #MothersDay❤️."
“Oh my gosh! What the heck! What are you doing here?” the “Goodies” singer exclaimed in an Instagram video after her husband snuck up on her to present her with a large floral bouquet.
“Doing life with you has been everything I’ve hoped for, dreamt of, and more,” the Texas native captioned a sweet video of her and her NFL star husband on various idyllic vacations together in celebration of their six-year anniversary. “It’s the best feeling in the world waking up to you everyday. I’m a better woman because of you.”
Ciara continued by wishing her “best friend” a “Happy Anniversary,” also showing clips from their romantic Chesire, England, wedding. “God is Good! Year 6. Forever to Go ❤️,” the singer concluded her post.
"Denver's amazing," Ciara told Entertainment Tonight, referring to her family’s recent move from Seattle for Wilson’s career. "The fans have been amazing. The food is amazing. The way to my heart is good.”
The musican added: "I'm so happy. I love our home. My kids are happy in school. I love Denver — it's pretty amazing.”
Ciara announced that she is pregnant with the couple’s third child together, her fourth. “You look at me like that again, we make another kid,” she wrote via Instagram, quoting a lyric from her song “How We Roll” alongside a video showing her baby bump. “You my heart I’m your rib.” In his own Instagram post, Wilson added, “That’s just ‘How We Roll.’”
Wilson gushed about his wife in a sweet birthday tribute.
“Happy Birthday to my Queen, @ciara ❤️. You truly are Heaven sent, the perfect mother to our children, and God’s blessing to me as we get to do life together as Husband & Wife,” he wrote via Instagram.
Wilson continued: “I’m so grateful that God put you into my life and we’ve been able to create an amazing (growing) family. … I Thank Jesus for you every day! I Love You Mrs. Wilson.”
The twosome announced that they had welcomed their third baby.
“Amora Princess Wilson,” they captioned a photo of their newborn daughter. “9lbs 1oz. We Love You so much!”
"When I asked her to marry me, once she said yes, I said, 'Before we go do this, can we pray? I want to make sure we always put God at the center of it all,'" Wilson recalled during an interview with Essence. "And so I think the thing that hopefully exudes from our love is that, listen, love is never perfect. But we continue to try to put God first and pray over each other. We have these four beautiful children that we get to raise every day and it's the greatest gift in the world."
Wilson paid tribute to Ciara on their 9th wedding anniversary, sharing a series of clips of the couple through the years. “From the moment I met you, I knew God was showing me the way. Every day since has been a reflection of His grace — full of love, laughter, purpose, and the kind of partnership I used to pray for. Happy Anniversary, my queen @ciara,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “You light up my life in ways words can’t explain. Here’s to the journey we’ve walked…and the one we’re still writing together. I love you, endlessly. ❤️.”
Brooks Nader has proved time and time again that she’s just like Us.
After being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars season 33, Nader reunited with former partner and ex Gleb Savchenko while he was on the road for the show’s live tour — and got candid about the logistics of fitting two people in a twin bed. (Us Weekly confirmed in April 2025 that Nader and Savchenko had called it quits on their whirlwind romance.)
“He was so funny because we were in the one twin bunk or whatever on the bus and he, the night before, was like, ‘I’ve been practicing how I’m going to sleep with my arms up like a sliver just so that you could have room,’” she told People in February 2025. “And he slept on the edge so that I didn’t fall off. What a gentleman. Chivalry. Get you a man who sleeps on the edge of the tour bus bed.”
Later that year, Nader suffered a wardrobe malfunction at Wimbledon when she unexpectedly started her period while wearing a long white skirt. Nader shared a TikTok video at the time of her wearing a cap-sleeve black blouse with the skirt, spinning around to show a small blood stain. “Tries to be chic,” Nader wrote at the time. “Starts at Wimbledon.” She added in her caption, “Of course #wimbledon.”
Scroll down to see more of Nader’s most relatable moments:
Surviving an Embarrassing 1st Date
Nader opened up about her first date with Billy Haire, whom she ultimately married in 2019, at a restaurant in New York City. (Us confirmed in 2024 that the pair had separated.)
“I ate like my first bite of sushi — he already had everything ordered—and I sprinted to the bathroom and I was projectile vomiting everywhere,” she said to Sports Illustrated Lifestyle in November 2022. “Because I got really sick, I had a stomach disease that I didn’t know about.”
Nader continued, “The waitress went back to the table and said, ‘Your date’s in the bathroom having a really rough time.’ Didn’t specify throw up or what it was. Then I sprinted out of the date and he thought that I just didn’t like him, and that was my way of getting out of it. But I did like him at the time, and I do now. There were many dates after that — he was totally hooked after I sprinted out throwing up.”
Navigating Life After Divorce
Nader shared that she repurposed her engagement ring after being spotted wearing the jewelry on her finger.
“This is my divorce ring,” she told People in December 2024. “A 9-carat offset pear on a simple gold band — that I designed with my longtime jeweler, Ring Concierge. Why should guys have all the fun? It’s my way of celebrating the next chapter of my life. Women deserve to buy themselves something fabulous just because, so why not a sick divorce ring?!”
Sleeping in Bunk Beds

While visiting Savchenko on tour, Nader revealed that her sisters “made so much fun” of her.
“They were like, ‘You have things to do. You have shoots. What are you doing sleeping in a bunk?’ And I did. I slept in the bunk with them for one night on the road. I wanted to be a road dog for a night. And I went to one of the shows and it was so much fun,” she told People in February 2025. “I’ve always wanted to sleep on a tour bus for a night, and we fit great in that bunk. It was so cozy!”
Suffering Sister Squabbles
She publicly got into it with her sister when Grace Ann revealed on a May 2025 episode of the “Chicks in the Office” podcast that Nader and Savchenko would frequently have sex on the Dancing With the Stars set.
“Every time I visited Brooks’ trailer — [it] was shaking every single time,” Grace Ann said at the time. “I never wanted to go in there. I was always knocking. He was always at our house, it was just a lot. So, I think it was very real.”
In the aftermath of that reveal, Nader quipped to Us that she hadn’t spoken to her sister since the interview.
“I don’t plan to speak to her ever again, maybe. Although, it’s hard because we’re filming a show together. Lemme check back in with you in a few weeks and tell you how that’s going,” she said, referring to the sisters’ Love Thy Nader Hulu show. “That was crazy. She’s in trouble [and] she’s in the dog house — big time.”

As Nader displayed her small blood stain on her long white skirt at Wimbledon in July 2025, her followers praised her candidness. When one user joked that the incident happened “the one time” she chose to wear “something non-sheer and maxi,” Nader replied, “LITERALLY. Back to sheer.”
On Sunday, July 6, the singer shared a sweet black and white video of himself playing with his son, Jack Blues. In the post, Justin smiles and caresses his son as Jack Blues rolls around on the floor.
Though the baby’s face wasn’t visible in the social media upload, it’s clear that Justin is incredibly happy in the footage.
The post was welcomed news for fans of the singer, 31, amid reports that Justin’s recent erratic online behavior has caused “tension” in his marriage with his wife, Hailey Bieber.
After Justin posted a series of concerning videos and photos on Instagram, a source close to the couple exclusively told Us Weekly that, “Things aren’t great right now.” According to the insider, Justin’s behavior has caused “a lot of stress” for Hailey, 28.
Things were compounded by the fact that Hailey recently sold her company Rhode for $1 billion — a monumental move the couple have reportedly not properly celebrated. “Family issues have clouded her success,” the source added. A second person also told Us, “Justin’s going through a difficult time, and Hailey is giving him room to get himself back on track. He’s doing his best, but it’s tough.”
Justin’s posts have ranged from hints at alleged drug use and anger problems (in March he wrote, “I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic”) to issues with photographers, such as when he told a group, “You don’t get to disrespect me and get away with it” in June.
And though Hailey and Justin are still together, the tension has been a lot for her to bear. The first source explained, “Justin’s been a hard person to deal with recently because of what he’s going through. Hailey is the stable parent and the one keeping their family together. It’s been really hard on her.”
Her husband’s apparent downs have taken a toll on how Hailey operates. “Things have been very tense in the last month. Hailey’s worried about Justin, especially with a [baby at home]. He hasn’t been down like this in quite some time, so there’s concern,” the source added.
But both sources also affirmed that Hailey and Justin will make it through the tough times they’ve been battling, something the video he shared Sunday appears to affirm.
“Faith is a big part of their life,” the source explained. “They believe they are soulmates and meant for each other.”
Glen Norris is breaking down the lyrics behind a song he wrote in honor of his late grandson Preston Ordone, known as “Okay Baby” online, after his death at age 2.
“After finding out my grandson Preston passed, I found myself questioning how this could happen,” Norris wrote over a TikTok video on Saturday, July 5. “In the midst of my grief, God gave me the words for this song. If we had it our way … you’d still be here with us. But we thank God for giving us the opportunity to meet again in heaven.”
While the video played several clips of Preston through the years, lyrics from the track ran over the clip: “Now that he’s home, he’s probably dancing around your thrown [sic]. And I can almost hear him say … ‘OK.’”
Norris captioned the post, “A lot of you have asked and the song is out now on all platforms. Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube music, ETC! Okay by Glen Norris.”
News broke in April that Preston died in a single-vehicle car crash while with his parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone. His parents survived, while Preston’s 7-year-old sister, Paisley, was at school at the time.
The Louisiana State Police shared at the time that an investigation was underway, including a routine toxicology test of the driver. Authorities claimed that the driver and front passenger of the vehicle were both “properly restrained,” while Preston was “seated in the rear” and “improperly restrained in a child safety seat.” Norris, for his part, disputed the claims.
The next month, Us Weekly confirmed that the toddler died from “blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash.” Preston’s death was ruled accidental, the St. Tammany Parish coroner’s office shared at the time.
Days later, Katelynn shared that she and Jaelan have “no memory” of the accident. Katelynn also alleged that the couple hired an “independent accident reconstruction expert” to review the incident.
“According to the vehicle’s black box data, the vehicle was traveling at 70 mph before decelerating and making a right turn, impacting at approximately 60 mph,” Katelynn wrote via Instagram in May. “Preston was properly secured in a two-piece, 360-degree car seat positioned behind the passenger seat.”
She continued, “He was removed from the vehicle still securely fastened and brought to the side of the road by bystanders — this occurred before any emergency vehicle arrived at the scene. Witnesses shared that it appeared to take at least 15 minutes for first responders to arrive, at which point Preston was still secured in his car seat and handed over to them.”
Katelynn claimed that the report confirmed that the car seat base “was properly installed and belted in,” however, the pair have since learned of a different issue.
“There appears to have been an issue with how the seat attached to the base: the locking pins were stuck in the engaged position, which may have prevented the seat from fully securing to the base,” Katelynn said. “After learning this, we further researched this particular car seat and discovered the issue has been reported by others as well.”
Katelynn noted that the cause of the accident is “believed to have been the result of a medical emergency, which is consistent with the vehicle’s deceleration and steering behavior.”
“We deeply appreciate the continued prayers and support as we navigate this unbearable tragedy,” she concluded. “We are grateful for the continued prayers. Our only source of strength right now is our faith and the hope we have in God. We can’t imagine walking through this without the assurance of eternal life and then peace that comes from knowing this truth.”
Later that month, Katelynn shared that her dad wrote a “beautiful song” for Preston. She added, “We miss you every second of every day. #prestonforever #okaybaby.”
Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy will bring Sarah Hogle’s bestselling romance novel You Deserve Each Other to life on the big screen.
Hogle’s debut novel, You Deserve Each Other, was published in April 2020. The lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance follows Naomi Westfield and Nicholas “Nick” Rose in the lead-up to their wedding. The catch? Neither wants to get married — but they don’t want to get stuck paying the bill for the canceled nuptials either.
You Deserve Each Other was adapted for the silver screen in 2025, with Badgley and Fahy being cast as Nick and Naomi, respectively.
Keep scrolling to learn more about You Deserve Each Other:
Who Is Starring in ‘You Deserve Each Other’?
Badgley and Fahy are the only actors whose casting has been formally announced thus far.
Who Wrote the ‘You Deserve Each Other’ Script?
Brett Haley and Marc Basch wrote an early draft, which Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn (Never Been Kissed, He’s Just Not That Into You) revised. Silverstein and Kohn will also co-direct the film.
The book charts Naomi and Nick’s journey to the altar as they each pull off elaborate schemes and pranks in an attempt to get the other to call off the nuptials first. Of course, in true romantic-comedy fashion, the duo might just remember why they fell in love along the way.
Has Filming Started?
Badgley and Fahy were spotted on set in New York City in July 2025. (The book is notably set in the Midwest, so it is currently unclear how the cityscape could tweak the story line.)

What Have Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy Said About Each Other?
“So I don’t usually do this, but my wife [Domino Kirke] and I just finished Sirens. OK Sirens, want to give her her flowers,” he said in an Instagram Reel. “Now obviously there’s Julianne, there’s Kevin, there’s Milly, but this Meghann Fahy. This newcomer, this refreshing gawky beauty, love it, love you.”
Fahy replied, “Penn! This is so kind. Thank you. Tell Domino I say hi. And that her taste is flawless.”
Badgley’s “newcomer” line was seemingly in reference to Fahy’s cameo on an episode of his Gossip Girl series. Since playing an assistant to a rival of Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Fahy has gone on to star in the likes of The Bold Type, The White Lotus and Drop.
Is There a Premiere Date for ‘You Deserve Each Other’?
Former Spice GirlMel C is making sure Mel Band Rory McPhee feel the love on their wedding day — even though she personally had to miss out.
“So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn’t be there,” Mel C, 51, wrote via her Instagram Story on Saturday, July 5. “Excited to celebrate with you really soon! Yippee!”
Mel C reposted Mel B and McPhee’s joint Instagram post, where they smiled on their wedding day at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral while looking at each other. “ 05.07.25,” the couple captioned the upload on Saturday.
McPhee got down on one knee and proposed to Mel B while vacationing together in Berkshire, U.K. in 2022. The pair had been together for three years.

“He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,’” she recalled on an episode of U.K. talk show Gogglebox at the time. “There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was [luxury hotel] Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers.”
Mel B was initially married to Jimmy Gulzar, with whom she shares daughter Phoenix, from 1998 to 2000. She later dated Eddie Murphy, welcoming daughter Angel in 2007 after their split. Mel B moved on with Stephen Belafonte in 2007, welcoming daughter Madison in 2011. The pair split in 2016, with their divorce finalized the following year.
While reflecting on her romance with McPhee, Mel B later told Us Weekly that her longtime love helped her believe in love “again” after her two previous marriages.
“Leaving that 10-year relationship, I was not looking to be in another. I was all about my kids, making sure they [were] OK and on their healing journey,” she exclusively told Us in May. “Rory, a lovely family friend, is a hairdresser, so he was nurturing my curls back. When I left my ex, I cut my hair off and dyed it blonde. I wanted to get rid of anything that made me think of [the relationship].”
She continued, “So I’m like, ‘Can you come and help me?’ As [Rory] was nurturing my curls, he was nurturing my belief in love again and trust — which is a huge thing for me because the person I loved and trusted turned out to be the worst mistake I ever made. Up until two years ago, I was like, ‘You can find somebody else. I’m too broken.’ Rory goes, ‘Melanie, I’m not going anywhere. Because I absolutely love you.’”
Melanie “Mel B” Brown and her husband, Rory McPhee, started out as friends before their romance blossomed.
“Leaving that 10-year relationship, I was not looking to be in another. I was all about my kids, making sure they [were] OK and on their healing journey,” Brown exclusively told Us Weekly in a May 2025 cover story. “Rory, a lovely family friend, is a hairdresser, so he was nurturing my curls back. When I left my ex, I cut my hair off and dyed it blonde. I wanted to get rid of anything that made me think of [the relationship].”
According to the former Spice Girl, McPhee nurtured both her natural curls and her “belief in love again.”
“Up until two years ago, I was like, ‘You can find somebody else. I’m too broken,” Brown told Us. “Rory goes, ‘Melanie, I’m not going anywhere. Because I absolutely love you.’”
Brown, who tied the knot with the hairstylist in July 2025, has been married twice before. She was married to Jimmy Gulzar from 1998 to 2000 and Stephen Belafonte from 2007 to 2017. (Mel shares daughter Phoenix with Gulzar, daughter Angel with Eddie Murphy and daughter Madison with Belafonte.)

Once Brown started dating McPhee, she realized how “special” he is.
“He’s a very confident man, and that, to me, is a man,” Brown gushed to Us in 2025. “He makes me feel so safe — I didn’t realize how unsafe I felt because that became normal to me. Whereas now I have to pinch myself and go, ‘You are so kind. Are you still going to be kind? Can I marry you? Can I trust my own instincts?’ And you can.”
2022
After three years of dating, McPhee popped the question during a vacation in Berkshire, England.
“There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was [the luxury hotel] Cliveden,” Brown recalled on an October episode of Gogglebox. “It was very romantic. I love flowers.”
She added, “He said, ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’”

McPhee accompanied Brown to her former Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party in London. While Brown sizzled in a red gown, McPhee opted for a classic tuxedo.

To celebrate Brown’s own 50th birthday, McPhee shared a gushing social media tribute.
“50 my love never looked finer. Sooo many exciting things this year, but today is all about you,” he wrote. “Happy birthday. I love you soooo much.”
Kim Kardashian is remembering her late friend, Lindsay May.
On Sunday, July 6, Kardashian shared a series of photos in honor of May, who died from cancer in November 2024.
“It was just your birthday and I know you never liked to make a big deal of it, but Happy Heavenly Birthday, Lindz,” Kardashian wrote via Instagram, alongside a series o photos that showed herself and her friend group at a lake. “I waited months to post this, mostly because I couldn’t find the right words. Nothing really captures how quiet and empty our lifers chat feels without you in it. I know you’d probably roll your eyes at me posting anything — especially since you didn’t really even have social media — but I couldn’t go through this lake trip without feeling you everywhere, and I needed to share it.”
“The lake was your happy place. It made you feel lighter, healthier… you were you,” she continued. “It’ll always be our favorite lifers tradition because it’s where we spend time with all of our kids being together and get real time with each other without any outside noise. We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment.”
“Looking back at these pictures from a year ago, I feel so grateful for all the memories we made. We miss you so f–king much, Lindz. Our world is not the same without you. I guess that’s why I hold onto this lake tradition so tightly. We’ll always have the lake — and in that, we’ll always have a piece of you,” Kardashian concluded.

Kardashian confirmed May’s death on June 17 via her Instagram Story, as reported by E! News at the time. The pair’s mutual friend Simone Harouche offered her own tribute to May in January.
“My world stopped on Nov 2nd. you took a little of me with you, but thank God I took some of you,” Harouche wrote via Instagram. “A beautiful sunset took on a whole new meaning. Reminisced a lot and the 90s were f–king fun. went on some beautiful adventures. had a lot of family time. I said yes to more. I experienced what it means when people talk about the power of community (very cliche, but very true).”
“Felt like I was in a daze a lot of the time, but also felt grateful for every second of this life (another cliché, but also very true). You are always with me. I feel you all the time,” Harouche added.
Kardashian’s close-knit friend group also includes Allison Statter, Sarah Meyer Michaelson, Ashley Kassan and Zoe Winkler.
“I got sober,” the former Fashion Police host exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2021. “I replaced drugs and alcohol with food, my body metabolized differently. Once I got sober and I gained weight uncontrollably, it was insane. [People] kept telling me, ‘You should do the [gastric sleeve] surgery.’ I was so against it. … I thought the surgery was a cop-out and that it was like cheating. That couldn’t be further from the truth. What the surgery did was give me a fighting chance.”
“I lost, like, I want to say 35 pounds, 40 pounds, and then I stopped losing weight,” she told Us. “I just stopped because I didn’t listen to what they said. I just thought it was going to be a quick fix. I’d be done. I’d be skinny. [I thought I] didn’t have to work out or do anything. I could not have been more wrong. You have to do every single thing that they tell you to do when you do the surgery, or it doesn’t work.”
After her 2009 stint on Dancing With the Stars, Osbourne lost nearly 20 pounds thanks to the daily cardio sessions and a change to her diet.
"I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life," she recalled to Shape magazine one year later of her weight loss journey. "I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me.”
When the ABC competition had ended, she later struggled with her weight and workout motivation, telling the magazine, “I didn't like it one bit. I thought, 'Kelly, you've come this far, let's see what you can really do!’ I would look at myself and think, ‘Ugh!' To get to the gym, when you already don't like yourself, is really hard."
The reality TV alum opened up being diagnosed with Lyme disease in her 2018 memoir, There Is No F—king Secret. She wrote at the time, “The doctors kept changing my prescription, trying to get the dosage right, and it turned me into a zombie. You know in movies where a mental patient sits in a rocking chair in a cardigan and nightgown and stares at a wall all day? That was me.”
After her initial diagnosis, she underwent stem cell therapy treatment, writing, “I’ve kept quiet about my Lyme disease, not only for fear of pharmaceutical companies coming after me because of the cure I found in Germany but also because it seems like the trendy disease to have right now, and I’m tired of seeing sad celebrities play the victim on the cover of weekly mags. Since I know firsthand how awfully debilitating it is, I know who really has it and who is just trying to prolong their 15 minutes. I don’t understand how anyone could think that the life you have to live with Lyme disease is glamorous.”
While marking one year of sobriety, Osbourne thanked her family for their support, sharing via Instagram, “I have spend the past year truly working on my mind body and soul! I had to take a step out of the public eye away from work and give myself a chance to heal and figure out who the fuck I really am without a camera in my face. … Thank you to my Mum and Dad for never giving up on me. I love my family with all my heart. Thank you to the friends who have walked the path of sobriety with me I could not have done this with out there love and support. I can’t believe It’s been a year!!! I still don’t know who the f—k I am or what the f—k I want but I can whole heartedly confess that I’m finally at peace with myself and truly starting to understand what true happiness is. I’m sorry if I let anyone down it was just time for me to work on me!”
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter opened up about undergoing gastric sleeve surgery two years prior.
“I had really bad TMJ. One of the things they did to stop it was they gave me injections in my jaw. It kinda made my jaw look skinnier. That’s when people started to notice that I had really lost weight because it changed the shape of everything,” Kelly said during an episode of the “Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn” podcast at the time. “I found out It’s called buckle fat. It changed everything on my face! How the f–k did I not know about this sooner?”
She continued, “I don’t give a f–k what anyone has to say. I did it, I’m proud of it, they can suck s–t. I did the gastric sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost two years ago. I will never, ever, ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”
The England native showed her impressive weight loss while celebrating her birthday. Months earlier, she shared a selfie of her weight loss progress, writing, “Today I’m feeling #Gucci.” At the time, a friend commented that she “lost a lot of weight,” to which Kelly replied, “That’s right mamma Mai I lost 85lbs since I last saw you. Can you believe it?”
After nearly four years sober, the TV host relapsed amid the coronavirus pandemic. “This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery,” she explained via her Instagram Story. “I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track.”
During a Red Table Talk appearance, the designer opened about her addiction struggles, telling the hosts, “I had a really bad case of tonsillitis. They ended up having to give me some crazy surgery and then after that they gave me Vicodin and that was all I needed. I went from having every voice in my head being like, ‘You’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re not good enough, no one likes you, you don’t deserve this, people only like you for who your parents are,’ then all of a sudden every single voice was silent. It felt like life gave me a hug.”
“Today marks my 37th birthday and I’m 5 months sober!!! I am filled with so much gratitude it’s almost overwhelming! 💜,” she captioned a birthday selfie via Instagram.
Osbourne announced that she was expecting her first child via Instagram, sharing sonogram photos. She captioned her post: “I know that I have been very quiet these past few months so I thought I would share with you all as to why… I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma. To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!”
Weeks after Kelly announced she is expecting her first child, she opened up about her latest sobriety milestone.
“What a difference a year can make! If you would have told me 365 days ago that I would be sober, happy, and about to be a mumma I would have laughed in your face,” Kelly wrote via Instagram, revealing she has been sober for one year. “Life is truly amazing when you do the work. Thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey. I love you all so much!!!!!!!”
She gave birth to son Sidney the following November.
Osbourne's boyfriend, Wilson, proposed backstage at her dad's last Black Sabbath concert.
"Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world,” Wilson said at the time. “Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. In front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”
Kelly Osbourneand her longtime partner, Sid Wilson, are engaged!
“Oh, and this happened yesterday!” Kelly, 40, captioned Sunday, July 6, Instagram footage from her dad Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath concert the day before.
In the clip, Kelly joined Ozzy, 76, and mom Sharon Osbourne backstage at the Birmingham, England, venue when Wilson, 48, got down on one knee.
“Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world,” Wilson said. “Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. In front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”
“I truly believe my baby saved me and made me a whole human,” Kelly said in her Us Weekly cover story published in October 2024. “I don’t think I knew what love was before having a baby.”
She added, “I don’t remember life before having the baby because everything has changed. I didn’t realize just how powerful the feeling of love was [going to be] when you have the baby. It’s the most … addictive feeling I have ever felt. You realize in that one second, ‘You’ve given me purpose like nothing has ever given me before.’ I don’t think I had purpose.”
At the time, Kelly also gushed to Us that the Slipknot performer was The One.
“I found my guy. We don’t need the certificate, but I know Sid really wants to get married, so we will get married,” she said. “It’s not as important to me. I’ve worn so many beautiful dresses and had so many moments that have been just about me, so that whole idea of a big day isn’t as important to me.”
Kelly further joked that “never in a million f***ing years” did she believe she would “end up with a rock star partner” like her dad.
“But, I did,” she quipped. “We’ve known each other for 25 years.”
Kelly, who proclaimed to Us that she “definitely” wants to have more children down the line, had attended her dad’s musical farewell on Saturday.
“I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you,” Kelly said in an Instagram Story video earlier on Sunday. “Thank you to everyone who came to the show last night, [and] thank you to everybody who was involved in the show last night. You have no idea what it did for my dad.”
Ozzy confirmed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020.

Bindi Irwin is celebrating a milestone moment for her and husband Chandler Powell’s daughter, Grace.
“This is the first photo Grace has ever taken of us. She asked me if she could take a photo on my phone, looked at it, and said, ‘cuuute,’” Irwin, 26, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, July 5. “Everything about these few minutes in time makes my heart happy. It’s the little moments that really mean the most.”
In the image, Irwin was all smiles as she cuddled up next to Powell, 28, while they sat on a swing outside.
Irwin and Powell, who tied the knot in 2020, welcomed daughter Grace the next year. After Grace’s arrival, Bindi noted that the little one’s name honors several family members — including late dadSteve Irwin. (The Australian wildlife expert died unexpectedly in 2006 after being injured by a stingray.)
“Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s,” she via Instagram at the time. “Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad, and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell, and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad. There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”
As Grace has gotten older, Bindi quipped that her daughter is the one to run the show at the zoo.
“She is so much fun,” Bindi exclusively told Us Weekly in 2024. “Honestly, she’s the one that runs Australia Zoo at this point — 100 percent. She’s like, ‘I run this zoo and I will take care of everyone,’ but she’s 3.”
Bindi shared that she’s finding a way to pay tribute to Steve and make sure Grace knows her grandfather.
“He’s not here, and it’s so hard not having him around to be able to run around with Grace,” Bindi said of her dad. “Because I know if he was still alive today, we would never see Grace. He would just take her and be like, ‘Let’s go climb the mountain and climb the street and go see these animals.’ But being able to show her documentaries is so incredibly special because she’s all in. As soon as we turn on Dad, knows who he is and she starts doing her imitations. So I’ll say, ‘Crikey.’ And she’ll be yelling, ‘Crikey,’ through the living room and It’s really sweet.”
Love Island USAstar Austin Shepard is clarifying his recent social media activity since leaving the villa.
“I want to take a moment to address my recent repost that has caused offense to some of you,” Austin, 26, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 5. “As you all know, I have a very dry sense of humor, and I genuinely didn’t think before sharing that content.”
He added, It was never my intention to hurt or upset anyone. I value and respect all individuals and their perspectives.”
Since being dumped from the villa, Austin sparked backlash when he shared an allegedly racist post on his social media account. (The post has since been deleted.)
“I recognize that my choice of content did not resonate well with everyone, and for that, I sincerely apologize,” he added on Saturday. “I’m committed to learning from this experience and to being more mindful in the future. Thank you for your understanding and for holding me accountable.”
Austin concluded, “Love you all [and] thank you so much for an incredible experience.”

Austin was one of the original Islanders on season 7 of Love Island USA. He was dumped earlier this week alongside fellow contestants Andreina Santos, TJ Palma, Gracyn Blackmore and Jaden Duggar.
After getting his phone back, Austin completed a Q&A on his Instagram Stories on Friday, July 4, where he responded to one question wondering whether he was a “racist bigot.”
“I’m going to give this attention only one time because this is, like, crazy,” Austin said in the video. “Are you f***ing dumb? Like, honestly, are you dumb? Do you not think?”
Austin appeared to deny the accusations, citing one of his tattoos as proof.
“I have a Black woman tatted on my side,” he quipped. “Use your head.”
Earlier this season, his costar Yulissa Escober was removed from the villa when past racially insensitive comments she made resurfaced online. (Yulissa, 27, has since apologized for her remarks.)
“I wasn’t dragged out in the dark. I walked out in broad daylight head high, lashes on,” Yulissa said in a Thursday, July 3, TikTok video. “I did not wake up in the middle of the night. They didn’t drag my ass out of bed. I was actually just getting comfortable and just coming out of my shell because initially I was kind of timid and shy. I was upset that I got pulled out on that day because I was like, ‘Damn, I was just starting to have fun.’”
Her departure was subtly addressed on the show by narrator Iain Stirling, who briefly mentioned that she had “left the villa” but did not further explain the situation.
Reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisleyhave had a lot to say about their previous incarceration.
The Chrisleys were both released on May 28, 2025, after they received pardons from President Donald Trump the day prior. The pair were originally sentenced to 19 years combined after they were found guilty of federal fraud charges and hiding their wealth from tax authorities. The pair each reported to prison in January 2023. They continue to maintain their innocence.
Since their release, the duo have been outspoken about what life behind bars was actually like.
Here is a look at what Todd and Julie Chrisley have said about spending 28 months in prison.
Todd and Julie ChrisleyDanielle Del Valle/Getty Images for E3 Chophouse Nashville
In a December 8 interview on Chris Cuomo’sCUOMO show, Todd described the conditions at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola as “disgustingly filthy.”
“The food is dated and it’s out of date by, at minimum, a year. It’s a year past expiration. And they’re literally starving these men to death here,” he explained. “These men are getting — I don’t know — they are getting 1,000 calories a day.”
“You’ve got rats, you’ve got squirrels in the storage facility where the food is,” Todd added. “They just covered it up with plastic and then tore the ceiling out because of all the black mold and found a dead cat in the ceiling, and it dropped down on the top of the food.”
Julie, who was held at the Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky, also had a “scary” experience in prison, she explained on the July 1 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast.
“I was [in] a satellite camp off of a federal medical center, which housed all custody levels,” Julie said. “So, there was the fence and the razor wire and the security there. Where I was in particular there wasn’t, but it was right next door to it.”
They connected with their faith

During a press conference following his release, Todd joked he had a “BOP glow.” He then elaborated on how he passed the time in prison, which included deepening his Christian faith.
“I actually have more access to better products right now that I’m out,” he explained. “I had nothing to do other than to read and to work out. I worked out every morning at 10:45 until 12, with my buddies there, and I read, and my walk with Christ became deeper, and I talked to my daughter every day [and] to Chase to Greyson. I was able to email with Julie every day. … Maybe it’s all the residual botox that didn’t wear off.”
Reuniting was overwhelming

Todd and Julie were able to finally reconnect after two years apart when they were each released on May 28.
“It was overwhelming,” Todd said at the time. “Julie and I have been together for over 30 years. She is my best friend. We have raised our children together. We’ve had all the ups and downs. We’ve gone through breast cancer together and it was great to be home.”
Making friends
Todd and Julie ChrisleyMichael Tran/FilmMagic
During the July 1 episode of daughter Savannah’s “Unlocked” podcast, Todd revealed he made good friends while behind bars. When he arrived at his room on the first day, there was “all this stuff laying on my bed.”
“I had read that you [were] going to be taking nothing for free because then you got to give something up, and I’m too old to be fighting all these people off,” he continued, before he shared that he was given the items from a man named Jig.
Jig told Todd that he was told to take care of the reality star in prison. “I said, ‘Well, I can take care of myself.’ He said, ‘I don’t have no doubt. … But I still got to do what I got to do,’” Todd added. “From that point forward, Jig and I became best buddies.”
Julie also managed to make friends in prison. In the same podcast episode, she revealed the first woman she met told her she would “hate” life there.
“I walked in the door and then I was just bombarded,” Julie said. “I walk in the door, there was someone there to show me where to go. I didn’t know at the time, but a girl got me to the room, got me a bed — a nice bed, actually — she ended up being my bunkie later on.”
She added, “It was very overwhelming because people kept coming in, and because I was new, and people knew who I was. It was really overwhelming for the first few days for me.”
Sharon Osbourne allegedly canceled a band’s set at Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning” concert after feeling disrespected.
“I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy [Osbourne, my husband] and Sabbath. And it was probably the worst way I’ve felt in years,” Sharon, 72, recently told Metal Hammer ahead of the band’s Saturday, July 5, final show. “I don’t care what this person says about me [or] thinks about it, because he doesn’t know me. And he’s now going around making up bulls*** lies because I threw his band off the bill.”
She added, “I don’t care what people say. Because do you know what? I don’t love them. I care about people who love me, what they say about me. You can’t care what an industry says because you don’t love them, so how can it hurt you? It doesn’t.”
Sharon further claimed to Billboard that the group allegedly just wanted to “make a profit” during the show.
“It’s not the time to make a profit,” she added. “After the show, I’ll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked.”
Sharon did not identify the name of the band that she allegedly removed from the “Back to the Beginning” roster, but she did tell the magazine that she wasn’t referring to Iron Maiden.
“Oh god, no. Ozzy only has respect for the guys in Maiden,” Sharon stressed to Metal Hammer. “And he didn’t even know what Bruce [Dickinson] was doing. I never told him, until the night that it happened, when it was the last show, and he just looked at me and goes, ‘You’re terrible.’”
Iron Maiden was previously invited to perform at the Osbournes’ Ozzfest in 2005 as a support act for Black Sabbath. When Ozzy’s band was unable to go on as planned, Iron Maiden played the headline slot, as well. Fans ended up throwing ice, lighters and other items at the band after Dickinson, now 66, made jokes about Ozzy, now 76. The drama led to a now-infamous falling-out between Dickinson and Sharon and Ozzy.
“I love Iron Maiden, it’s just the singer because he was so horribly disrespectful,” Sharon told Metal Hammer. “But if you’re going to take Ozzy’s money, and play before him every night of a festival, and you’re bad-mouthing him to the crowd, you’ve got to pay. So I had him pelted with cans of baked beans that were open, and cut his sound.”
Ozzy, who revealed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020, reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates in Birmingham, England, on Saturday, July 5, to raise funds for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice. The show was also Ozzy’s farewell performance.
