Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin is the latest professional athlete whose home was burglarized while away at a game.
The home of Malkin, 38, was robbed on Saturday, January 13, with his three Stanley Cup rings among the stolen items. Malkin won the Cup as a member of the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017.
According to local CBS affiliate KDKA-TV, which first reported the news, Malkin lives in the Pittsburgh suburb of Sewickley Heights, roughly 15 miles away from the Penguins’ home at PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh.
A 911 call was made about the break-in “a few hours” after the Penguins hosted the Ottawa Senators at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 11. Malkin did not play in the game due to an upper body injury, but he returned to the Penguin’s lineup on Tuesday, January 14, against the Seattle Kraken.
The Penguins organization released a statement on Tuesday, confirming the incident at Malkin’s home.
“Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin’s home was burglarized this past weekend,” the statement read. “Details of the situation will not be made public as this is an ongoing investigation. We are working closely with local authorities and team security. Malkin has requested that his privacy be respected during this time and we will have no further comment on the matter.”
According to The Athletic, the FBI is involved in the matter and the investigation remains ongoing.
The robbery at Malkin’s home furthers a trend of pro athletes being burglarized while they are publicly away from their homes.
In December 2024, the Ohio residence of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrowwas robbed while he was in Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
Burrow’s rumored girlfriend, Olivia Ponton, was at the home at the time of the robbery. Ponton, 22, told authorities a room in the home had been “ransacked” and gave “a non-detailed itemization of what items were possibly missing.”
Kansas City Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were robbed in separate incidents less than 48 hours apart in October 2024.
The Belton, Missouri residence of Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, was burglarized in the early morning hours of October 6. Police were dispatched to the home on a burglary/breaking and entering call. According to the police report, there were no signs of forced entry.
The following evening, October 7, the Leawood, Kansas home of Kelce was similarly broken into. Police reported that $20,000 was taken and a rear door was broken. At the time of the break-in at Kelce’s home, the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
In November 2024, a watch belonging to Kelce that was taken during the robbery was found in Providence, Rhode Island.
No arrests have been made in the Burrow, Mahomes or Kelce robberies.
Princess Michael of Kent celebrated her 80th Birthday on Wednesday, January 15.
The royal, born Marie-Christine von Reibnitz, has been married to Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, since 1978. They have two children: Lord Frederick Windsor, 45, and Lady Gabriella Windsor, 43.
In recent years, Princess Michael has faced several controversies, including an uncomfortable encounter with the Duchess of Sussex in December 2018.
The Princess wore a Blackamoor brooch to Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas lunch, which was also attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The style of art has previously been denounced as racist by many due to its depiction of enslaved African people.
“The brooch was a gift and had been worn many times before. Princess Michael is very sorry and distressed that it has caused offense,” a spokesperson for the princess said at the time.
The brooch was briefly referenced during the couple’s Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries which aired in December 2022.
Afua Hirsch, a journalist and author of ‘Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging,’ spoke about the incident on the docuseries, saying she wasn’t “hugely surprised” because it’s common to be “faced with racist imagery” in palaces and stately homes in the UK.
More recently, the Princess mourned the loss of her son-in-law, Thomas Kingston.
Lady Gabriella’s husband died by suicide at the age of 45 in February 2024. Speaking to members of the British press in December, Princess Michael said Kingston was “a lovely man, so kind and thoughtful.”
Here are six things to know about Princess Michael.
1. Princess Michael met Prince Michael when she was married to her first husband.
The Princess’ first marriage was to the late Thomas Troubridge, a banker, in 1971. They divorced after six years together.
According to various reports, the Princess was first introduced to Prince Michael shortly after marrying Troubridge, while visiting her husband’s friend, Prince William of Gloucester, at his Barnwell Manor estate in Northamptonshire.
Prince and Princess of Michael became good friends after her marriage to Troubridge ended, reports said.
Prince and Princess Michael were married in 1978, and Prince Michael temporarily lost his place in the line of succession because British royals were not allowed to marry Catholics until 2013, when the law changed.
As of January 2025, Prince Michael is 52nd in line to the British throne.
2. Though not a British royal by birth, Princess Michael has royal heritage.
The Princess is the granddaughter of Princess Hedwig von Windisch-Graetz, and was raised on her Carlsbad estate in Bohemia, which was originally part of the Austrian empire.
The Princess was born on January 15, 1945, eight months before the end of World War II.
The royal’s father, Gunther von Reibnitz, was a major in Hitler’s SS, a military unit within the Nazi party.
Speaking to various outlets in 1985, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said Princess Michael was shocked to learn of her father’s involvement with the SS.
“It came as a total surprise to her when she heard the news,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “And it came as a total shock. There will be no further comment or statement from the princess,” they added.
4. Princess Michael is an author and historian.
She has penned several books, including three novels and three non-fiction books. A Cheetah’s Tale, an autobiographical account of her experience living on her father’s farm in Mozambique, was published in 2017.
When she’s not busy writing or undertaking royal engagements, Princess Michael gives history lectures. Her a
reas of interest include 18th Century Europe, 18th Century Russia, and Monarchy and Motherhood, according to her website.
5. She previously worked as an interior designer.
After studying Fine and Decorative Arts at the Victoria & Albert Museum in the early 70s, the Princess spent five years working as an apprentice to interior designers in London before becoming one herself.
After completing her training, the royal opened her own interior design business, SZAPAR DESIGNS.
6. The Princess is a night owl.
Princess Michael shared her writing routine in an essay for The Huffington Post in 2015, revealing that she is a “night-writer.”
“It is the only time I am undisturbed and often at my laptop until three or four in the morning,” she wrote. “For me, the night feels like an embracing cocoon of black velvet, welcoming and warm; also mysterious — layer upon layer of shifting thoughts allowed to overlap,” she added.
Melora Hardin still has fond memories from her time working on Little House on the Prairie.
“I remember quite a few things because I auditioned with Matthew Labyorteaux when we were 9 to play Young Caroline and young Michael Landon’s character, Charles,” Hardin, 57, said on the Monday, January 13, episode of the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast. “Charles and Caroline had to be dancing together — and Matthew had already been cast. He said that he wanted me to play the part because I didn’t step on his feet and all the other girls did.”
Hardin, who grew up dancing ballet, wasn’t cast for the role of Young Caroline but was called back for another part.
“When the new Nelly was introduced, it was when I was 13 and my character was Belinda,” the actress recalled. “She got locked in the ice house by the new Nelly, who was just as mean as the old Nelly and then I got cast when Matthew’s character was leaving the show because he died of leukemia. I played his love interest.”
Hardin and Labyorteaux, 58, even shared their “first screen kiss together” and have remained friends.
“He’s still a very good friend of mine and the godfather of my second daughter,” the Office alum said on Monday’s episode. “He’s still in my life. And, you know, [my husband Gildart Jackson and I] didn’t let our kids watch much TV at all. We really hand-selected what they could watch and our youngest daughter, Piper, just got obsessed with Little House on the Prairie — and watched all of them over and over again. And so, it was a great, really fun experience.”
Looking back at Little House through her daughter’s point of view also reminded Hardin of her time on the set.
“I think, maybe, [it was] my first time working with someone like Michael Landon, who really had that community feeling,” Hardin said. “I also got a real feeling from Clint Eastwood when I did Absolute Power. He’s similar; he has that crew that follows him from movie to movie and he also works very much in the same way that Michael Landon works with TV pace, fast.”
Landon, who died in 1991, played patriarch Charles Ingalls on Little House. (The series was famously based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books of the same name.)
“He was just so warm [and] he was so sweet,” Hardin recalled of Landon. “He just really made all the kids and adults, I think, … feel like he had really chosen you. He just let you do your thing and even when he gave you direction, you never felt admonished by him. He was just lovely [and] he knew how to talk to kids.”
Little House ran for nine seasons starting in 1974 and also starredMelissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle and Melissa Sue Anderson as the rest of the pioneer Ingalls family.
“The big formative years for them, I was really struggling with issues,” Caitlyn — who went by Bruce before coming out as a trans woman in 2015 — said on 20/20that same year. “I didn’t do a good job. And I apologized to my kids for that.”
Caitlyn, who is a former Olympic decathlete and motivational speaker, has six children with three different wives: Burt Jenner and Cassandra Marino with Chrystie Scott, Brandon Jenner and Brody with Linda Thompson and Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner with Kris Jenner.
“There’s no excuse for not being a good parent,” Caitlyn reiterated to ABC in 2017, “no matter how many problems you have.”
Keep reading to see how Brody and Caitlyn’s relationship played out in the spotlight and where they stand today:
Inside Brody’s Childhood
While Caitlyn’s older kids were not regular guests on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Brody made several appearances when the show first launched on E! in 2007.
In a 2013 episode, the DJ shared a glimpse into being raised by Caitlyn. “I think Bruce is an incredible human being and I think that Bruce is a great father, he just wasn’t a great father to me. I grew up with my stepdad [David Foster],” Brody said. “Bruce was never around. I can’t tell you how many birthdays went by where Bruce wasn’t there. I resent him for that.”
Brody’s Reaction to Caitlyn’s Transition
Throughout Caitlyn’s transition, Brody was a supportive son and shined a light on what the process meant to him.
“The first thing I thought was just, like, ‘It finally makes sense,'” Brody told ABC News in 2017. “I’ve known Bruce for a long time and I didn’t really get along with Bruce. Caitlyn and I get along a little more, because Caitlyn is actually who she really is and she’s living her life finally now as the person she actually was.”
Where Brody Stands With Caitlyn Today
In October 2024, Brody attended Caitlyn’s 75th birthday party.
“Last night bday dinner in Malibu was so special,” Caitlyn wrote via Instagram at the time. “Family is everything! So many kids and so many of the grandkids, all in one place, at one time. …I love you all so much.”
After welcoming a baby girl with Tia Blanco in July 2023, Brody shared his perspective on parenting.
“I think that what I’m most excited about is doing things differently than my father did,” Brody said in an August 2023 YouTube video. “Growing up I didn’t have the greatest relationship with then-Bruce [now Caitlyn]. [Caitlyn] wasn’t really around for me growing up. So I think that just doing the exact opposite, being the absolute best father I could possibly be and getting ready for the journey and just so very excited.”
At the height of her family’s adoption scandal, YouTube star Myka Stauffer was called out for wearing Cartier.
Myka and her husband, James Stauffer, are the subjects of a new docuseries titled An Update on Our Family, which debuted on HBO Wednesday, January 15, following its Tribeca Film Festival premiere last year. The Stauffers, who did not respond to producers’ requests for comment, rose to fame for their candid family vlogs and brought fans along on their journey to adopt son Huxley from China. Viewers turned against the family in 2020, however, when Myka and James “rehomed” their adopted son, who was diagnosed with autism.
Before Huxley was given a new forever home, Myka was widely criticized for appearing to disengage from raising the “little guy,” who was 2 at the time of his adoption. While the family attempted to care for his medical needs, Myka and James put Huxley in speech therapy.
“We’re gonna go to a different speech therapist,” Myka said in a 2018 YouTube vlog, which was featured in episode 3 of the docuseries. “Not the one that’s $500 a month. But we’re gonna go to the one that’s, like, $70 for 30 minutes.”
Some viewers claimed the comments were hypocritical after noticing that Myka was wearing a Cartier bracelet as she spoke about cutting back on Huxley’s expenses. At the time the video was uploaded, the jewelry was reportedly worth roughly $6,500.
“But you can’t afford $500 a month for a speech therapist?” one critic said in a reaction video.
Social media personality Sophie Ross, who was at the forefront of dissecting the adoption scandal, reflected on going down the Stauffer family “rabbit hole.”
“[Myka] clearly was just living the life of luxury while apparently saying that, you know, she didn’t have the resources to take care of this human being that she had adopted,” Ross said in the doc.
Others have debated whether Myka and James only adopted Huxley to increase engagement on their YouTube channels. The pair’s popularity skyrocketed from their vulnerable videos about the adoption process, and Myka scored deals with brands like Fabletics, Huggies, Kroger and more. (The majority of these brands terminated their relationships with the Stauffers amid the rehoming scandal.)
Fans of the Stauffers began to grow concerned for Huxley after he was noticeably absent from the family’s videos. When the couple initially brought Huxley home in October 2017, Myka declared that she and James felt confident about the decision no matter what challenges they might experience.
“If anything, my child is not returnable,” Myka said in a YouTube video uploaded months before Huxley’s adoption was made official.
Myka and James are also the parents of kids Kova, Jaka, Radley and Onyx, who were not adopted. As Huxley was seemingly phased out from the vlogs, Myka was called out for deleting comments about his whereabouts. She and James eventually offered their explanation in a May 2020 video.
“We would never just give up a child with special needs, this is a personal matter to Hux it had nothing to do with he just had Autism,” Myka added while responding to critics in the comments section, claiming Huxley “wanted this decision.”
One month later, Us Weekly confirmed an investigation was launched into Huxley’s welfare after news broke that he was placed with another family. The case was eventually closed, as authorities determined that Huxley was safe and happy with his new adoptive parents.
The Stauffers have largely gone off the grid following the scandal, deleting their family YouTube channel. In a June 2020 Instagram post — her last on the platform — Myka issued a public apology to the adoption community.
“We did not adopt a child to gain wealth,” she insisted. “While we did receive a small portion of money from videos featuring Huxley and his journey, every penny and much more went back into his care. Getting Huxley the care and services he needed was very expensive and we made sure he got every service, and resource we could possibly find. … We love Huxley and know that this was the right decision for him and his future. Praying that Huxley only has the best future in the entire world.”
Eric Johnson and Keri D’Angelo’s love story came to an end the year before he met his estranged wife, Jessica Simpson.
Johnson and D’Angelo tied the knot in 2005. After four years of marriage, the pair separated in 2009. Johnson and D’Angelo finalized their divorce a year later.
The NFL alum moved on with Simpson — he popped the question in 2010 after six months of dating. “He knocked on my dreamy cottage door (sigh), I let him in and never let him leave,” Simpson wrote via Instagram in 2020, noting that she “fell head over slippers in love” on that day.
Before walking down the aisle, the couple welcomed daughter Maxwell in 2012 and son Ace in 2013. They went on to tie the knot in 2014, welcoming daughter Birdie in 2019.
Simpson announced in 2025 that she and Johnson had parted ways. “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Winter white was having a moment, but winter beige is stealing the show. Gone are the days we shunned white from Labor Day to Memorial Day . . . and we’re not complaining. Wearing lighter colors during the winter can make Us look much more tan than we actually are, which is a total win in our books.
The other benefit of wearing beige is what we call the “rich European mom effect”. Rich European moms — think moms in Italy and France — lean on colors like white, black, tan and beige for their everyday outfits, so you can easily look like you attend outdoor Pilates classes and drive a Range Rover. Hooray!
Some of our all-time favorite beige sweaters are all on Amazon, and most don’t cross the $40 mark. So whether you’re shopping on a budget or simply want to load up on rich-looking fashion pieces, read on! We gathered our faves below.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have called it quits and are working on making their split official.
Alba, 43, plans to file for divorce “soon,” a source close to her and Warren exclusively told Us Weekly. In the meantime, the Los Angeles wildfires have slowed the process — the pair are spending more time together and with their three kids, Honor, 16, Haven, 13 and Hayes, 6.
“Cash has been slowly moving things out of their house but since the fires, they have been spending more time under one roof as a family,” the source explains. “They are being there for each other right now as it is a very stressful time.”
Alba has also been spending her time working with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit on whose board she serves, by putting together fire relief hygiene kits. She posted photos and videos of the kits via her Instagram story on Tuesday, January 14, urging her followers to donate to relief efforts.
The source adds that Alba plans to keep the couple’s Beverly Hills home and that they are “working it all out behind the scenes.”
Alba and Warren, 46, married in 2008 — four years after the two met on the set of The Fantastic Four in 2004, where Alba played Sue Storm and Warren was a production assistant. After 16 years of marriage, on January 8 news broke of their split.
“They have had many ups and downs as any marriage would after being together for so many years,” the insider says. “They have tried therapy and have worked out past issues over the years.”
Noting that “at the end of the day, the romance was gone between them,” the source adds that “there were trust issues in the past which led to many arguments.”
Alba has spoken publicly about the challenges in her marriage before, including on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s “BDA Baby” podcast in April 2024.
“It’s all rosy for 2 and a half years, but then after that you become roommates,” she said at the time. “And it’s just, like, you’re roommates. You’re just going through the motion. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes.”
Pratt empathized with Alba, asking how she balances work with making sure “your husband feels tended to.’
“If you’ve figured it out in your relationship, let me know,” Alba replied. “You know, I think that [Warren] probably gets the short end of the stick. … It’s hard. It’s impossible.”
Warren, for his part, opened up about the “hard work” that went into his marriage in an exclusive interview with Us in July 2024.
“I think, ultimately, the friendship and support and just knowing that your partner has your back means everything to us,” he said. “I think that would be the secret, is just having each other’s back. It’s hard work, but we roll up our sleeves and we do it. It’s wild. It’s the longest relationship I could have ever imagined.”
It’s almost time for lucky season 13 of The Masked Singer, and Us Weekly has an exclusive first look at the show’s first set of contestants.
The Wednesday, February 12, premiere will introduce five new singers competing for the coveted Golden Mask trophy: Ant, Coral, Paparazzo, Fuzzy Peas and Honey Pot. (The remaining 10 singers will be introduced in later episodes.)
Not pictured is new season 13 addition Lucky Duck, who Fox describes as a “delightfully mischievous” character that “will pop in throughout the season to offer cheeky and luck-related clues.” Lucky Duck will be unmasked at the end of season, and the network notes that “there could be a very special connection to someone on the show!”
Lucky Duck’s role seems to be similar to that of Cluedle-Doo, who periodically interrupted the competition to share additional clues from his lair. He eventually performed “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison and was unmasked as Donnie Wahlberg, who happens to be married to panelist Jenny McCarthy. (McCarthy, 52, was completely shocked by her husband’s appearance.)
Us also has a sneak peek of a new promo for the season, which introduces additional characters whose names have yet to be revealed: a dinosaur-esque monster, a cowboy that’s also an alien, some sort of bird, a dog wearing sunglasses and a few other unidentifiable creatures.
“I didn’t think this show could get any crazier,” judge Rita Ora says in the clip.
Another scene shows Ora, 34, packed into an elevator with fellow panelists McCarthy, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong.
“I’m having a hard time breathing,” Jeong, 55, jokes in the clip.
After Thicke, 47, suggests “putting your arms above your head,” Jeong replies, “Shut up!”
In the season 12 finale last month, the Buffalos — revealed to be Boyz II Men — were crowned the winners, becoming the first group to take home the Golden Mask.
“It allowed us to be ourselves, believe it or not,” Shawn Stockmanexclusively told Us of competing on the show. “The masks allowed us to reveal things about who we are as singers, who we are as people, music lovers, ’cause a lot of people wouldn’t connect Boyz II Men to Toto or other songs that we did on the show, so it was nice for people to get a glimpse of our playlist, songs and music that we love from artists that we enjoyed ever since we were kids in some cases. So it was nice and it became deeper than just winning the whole thing.”

Ellen DeGeneres is embracing the natural look in the new year.
DeGeneres, 66, was recently spotted rocking a gray pixie cut during an outing in Montecito, California, earlier this month.
The talk show host spent most of her Hollywood career as a blonde, later going darker when she and wife Portia de Rossi traded their Montecito pad for an estate in England last year.
In November 2024, DeGeneres was spotted with a short, brunette ‘do while out with de Rossi, 51, and other pals at a local pub called Farmer’s Dog. Weeks earlier, news broke that the couple left Montecito for the British countryside. They settled in the Cotswolds and have since been spotted at Soho Farmhouse nearby. (The hotspot is a luxurious member’s club and hotel in the Cotswolds, where the likes of David Beckham, Victoria Beckham, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell often frequent.)
“She was with two female friends walking from the car park towards the farm buildings where the clubhouse is — we passed on a stone bridge over a stream,” an eyewitness exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “She was dressed in a country casual way. She was super understated and no one was really paying much attention to her … but then you just don’t expect to see Ellen there as it’s more a haunt of U.K. celebrities.”
While DeGeneres has remained tight-lipped about her England move, she’s previously been candid about switching up her hairstyle.
“You may notice my hair is a little bit blonder today than usual and a little bit shorter than usual,” she said on an April 2019 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “That’s ‘cause I had my hair done over the weekend. And by the weekend, I mean the entire weekend. When you have short hair, you have to color it often because my hair grows really fast. I’m constantly coloring it. Some days it’s a different tone.”
Kelly Stafford was admittedly concerned about bringing her sick family on the Los Angeles Rams’ private plane for their playoff trip to Arizona.
After the Rams’ playoff showdown against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, January 13, was relocated from Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, the Rams organization facilitated a plane for the entire team and their families to travel together to the game.
Kelly, the wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, was sick with a flu at the time, which had also impacted other members of her household. Kelly and Matthew share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6 and Tyler, 4.
“We were sick on that flight,” Kelly admitted on the Wednesday, January 15, episode of her “Morning After” podcast. “There was a huge guilt factor to me going, ‘Should we be on this plane right now because of everyone surrounding us and everyone who has to play this game?’”
Before boarding, Kelly reached out to other members of the Rams family for advice on how to handle the situation.
“They were like, ‘Get your ass on that plane. We all need to be together,’” Kelly said. “That was such an incredible thing for me to hear because there was a little bit of like, ‘Should I just stay back with my children?’”
Kelly also had the blessing of her husband, who insisted his wife and daughters accompany him on the trip.
“Matthew was like, ’No, we will do whatever it takes. We are all getting on this plane. We are going to be together right now,’” Kelly said.
Despite all the uncertainty, Kelly was grateful she took the leap of faith to attend the game — a 27-9 victory for the Rams, which earned them a trip to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in the NFL Divisional Round on Sunday, January 19.
“That win, besides the Super Bowl [in 2022], was probably my favorite win while being a Ram,” Kelly gushed.
The game certainly didn’t come without its difficulties, however. Via her Instagram Story, Kelly revealed that one of her girls spent most of the game sick.
“This girl . In the middle of her pukes in the bathroom, ‘Mommy, are we still winning,’” Kelly wrote alongside a picture of her daughter hugging Matthew after the game. “She couldn’t wait to be in his arms.”
In a separate post, Kelly wrote, “Fun to watch my guy, but damn are we glad that game is over.”
Sofia Vergara and Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton are nothing more than friends after a recent outing sparked romance rumors.
In photos obtained by TMZ, Vergara, 52, was all smiles during a group lunch at a restaurant in the Big Apple on Tuesday, January 14. She was seen chatting with Hamilton, 40, while waiting for her car after the two-hour dining experience.
A source exclusively tells Us Weekly that the gathering was “merely a casual lunch with a big group of friends in a group setting” and “by no means a date.”
The actress has appeared to be in good spirits following her divorce from Joe Manganiello. Us confirmed in July 2023 that Manganiello, 48, filed to end their marriage after seven years.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement, days before the actor officially filed the paperwork. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
A source later told Us that Vergara and Manganiello were no longer “on the same page” about their relationship. “She would rather go out with friends and he would rather stay home, so they wouldn’t spend a lot of time together,” the insider explained. “They’ve been living separate lives for about a year now, so it was time to call things off.”
Manganiello has since moved on with Caitlin O’Connor, and the couple made their red carpet debut in December 2023. Vergara, for her part, was linked to Justin Saliman in October 2023 but telling Us one year later that she’s “kind of single” at the moment.
“Well, I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger,” she revealed to Spanish newspaper El País in January 2024. “He wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom.”
Vergara said she didn’t want more children, while Manganiello was interested in being a father. (The Modern Family alum welcomed son Manolo in 1991 with then-husband Joe Gonzalez. The former couple called it quits two years later.)
“I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore,” she continued at the time. “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother.”
Despite her marriage coming to an end, Vergara remained optimistic about the future, adding, “So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children. I’m almost in menopause, it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life. That’s what I have to do.”
Hamilton, meanwhile, dated Nicole Scherzinger on and off for seven years before their split in 2015. He has since been linked toRihanna and Shakira.
“One day [I want kids],” he told the Sunday Times in September 2024. “I wouldn’t be able to do what I do to the level that I do it today with that. One of my best friends has just had a kid and I’m seeing how manic it is — and my nieces and nephew are a handful.”
Hamilton added: “There will be a time and a place for it, and I can’t wait for that part. But right now I have some work to do.”
Myka Stauffer is no longer active on YouTube since sparking backlash over her son’s adoption dissolution, but some prior videos haven’t aged well post-scandal.
Myka and her husband, James Stauffer, were family vloggers whose popularity skyrocketed as they documented their path to adopting a child. In October 2017, they brought home son Huxley from China, but the transition wasn’t easy. The couple — who share another four children who were not adopted — eventually chose to place Huxley with another family in 2020 after he was diagnosed with autism.
The scandal blew up online as viewers following along with the journey grew concerned about Huxley’s wellbeing. While the Stauffer family’s YouTube channel has since been deleted, past footage was dissected in the docuseries An Update on Our Family, which premiered on HBO Wednesday, January 15. (The doc was previously unveiled at Tribeca Film Festival in June 2024.)
Myka and James were all in on Huxley before even meeting their “gorgeous little baby boy” in person. “I love him so much,” Myka gushed in a vlog featured in episode 1 of the docuseries. “It was just an instant connection. … This is my little guy.”
In another 2017 video, Myka got candid about the potential of adopting a child who might require medical care. “The only need that our little boy has is a nice family that really, truly cares about him,” she said at the time.
Myka confessed that she didn’t know “what his medical diagnosis was gonna look like,” but she told viewers that she and James were confident about adopting Huxley. “If anything, my child is not returnable,” she claimed.
An Update on Our Family gives a closer look at the Stauffer family’s first in-person interactions with Huxley and the challenges they encountered after making his adoption official. In episode 2, Myka admitted that she was unsure how much of the “hard part” to share with fans.
“If I were daily vlogging every single moment, I feel like I would be really wrong,” she said in another YouTube video.
The family continued to document their daily lives, however, and Myka began to strike up deals with big-name brands. James referred to the YouTube channel as “a full-time business” in a video shown during episode 2.
Myka was even asked to share some of her tips of the trade in a sit-down interview at VidSummit in 2018. At the time, the Stauffer family’s channel had nearly 500,000 followers.
“There’s way better YouTubers out there, but one of the big things I did was I started studying analytics really hard,” she told Think Media’s Sean Cannell, adding that she lucked out with her “liquid goldmine” of content.
When discussing to name her “favorite failure” from throughout her career, Myka referenced Huxley’s journey. “Well, I wouldn’t call it a failure,” she said. “But I would call it something that was really, really, really, really, really challenging. We recently adopted a little guy from China, definitely not a failure.”
She continued, “When you adopt a child, it’s forever. And when you adopt a child and there’s stuff that you didn’t know … it just puts you in a spot you didn’t know you were gonna be in.”
Cannell appeared in An Update on Our Family and cringed while rewatching the conversation, saying, “This interview didn’t age well.”
Huxley began to appear in fewer of the Stauffers’ videos, which triggered red flags for some viewers. In May 2020, the couple explained that Huxley was no longer part of their family. Us Weekly confirmed at the time that an investigation was subsequently launched, but authorities found that Huxley was safe with his new adoptive parents. No charges were filed.
Amid the backlash, Myka apologized in a lengthy Instagram statement, which remains her last post on the platform to date. (Myka and James did not respond to interview requests for the Vox Media Studios doc.)
“This decision has caused so many people heart break and I’m sorry for letting down so many women that looked up to me as a mother. I’m sorry for the confusion, and pain I have caused, and I am sorry for not being able to tell more of my story from the beginning,” she wrote in June 2020. “I could have never anticipated the incidents which occurred on a private level to ever have happened, and I was trying my best to navigate the hardest thing I have ever been through.”
She insisted that Huxley was not adopted for the couple’s personal gain, adding, “We love Huxley and know that this was the right decision for him and his future. Praying that Huxley only has the best future in the entire world.”
Julia Stiles is singing the praises of her 10 Things I Hate About You costar Heath Ledger years after his untimely death.
“He was amazing,” Stiles, 43, exclusively told E! News in an interview published on Tuesday, January 14. “He was such a bright light.”
While Stiles gushed that she and all of her costars had “such a good time and were close on that set” of the 1998 film, she recalled there being something different about Ledger’s interactions. “He just walked into the room and lit it up,” she said.
Stiles, who’s first-ever starring role was in the beloved romantic comedy, said Ledger “was very kind and generous to me.”
“Which you know, when you’re an actress in your first leading role in a big studio movie, you need to feel comfortable with the other person,” Stiles said. “And he was very generous that way.”
Stiles and Ledger played high school love interests in the film, which also starredJoseph Gordon-Levitt (Cameron James), Gabrielle Union (Chastity), Allison Janney (Ms. Perky), David Krumholtz (Michael Eckman), Larisa Oleynik (Bianca Stratford), Andrew Keegan (Joey Donner) and Susan May Pratt (Mandella).
Ledger died at age 28 in 2008 following an accidental drug overdose. The toxicology report released at the time showed that Ledger died from “acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine.”
While recalling filming with Ledger, Stiles said her character Kat Strafford’s paintball date with Heath’s Patrick Verona was “really, really fun.” Stiles also noted that the scene where Kat read her poem out loud in class elicited an emotional reaction.
“The scene where I read the poem, I did not expect to start crying or tearing up or choking up, whatever,” Stiles recalled. “But it just happened because the movie was coming to an end, the production was coming to an end. And I think I was just so moved by the whole experience.”
In the years following the release of 10 Things I Hate About You, Stiles revealed to Us Weekly in 2019 that her memories from the movie are slipping away.
“I have so many great memories from that movie that are fading because it has been 20 years,” Stiles said. “But it was just such a special time where we were all so excited.”
She added, “It was my first big job and I really loved that part because I hadn’t seen the character of a teenage girl so feisty before and that just felt really refreshing and I was really, really happy to be a part of it.”
LaPaglia, 25, opened up about her breakup with Zach Bryan while stunning on the magazine’s cover, which launched on Wednesday, January 14. For her photo shoot, she rocked a number of sexy bikinis, beaded swimsuits, plunging one pieces and more.
Photographed by Katherine Goguen at The Austin Estate, LaPaglia first wore a black Christopher Esber design featuring a deep V-neck, a halter top and an open back. She wrapped her hands around her stomach and chest while posing for the camera in the sand. For glam, she donned mascara, manicured eyebrows and glossy lined lips. She crimped her honey blonde strands to fit the beachy aesthetic.
Next, she changed into a brown swimsuit that accented her bronzed skin. The beaded design, by Tropic of C. Top by Andres Otalora, hugged her curves as she wore a trial printed top underneath.
LaPaglia also wore a silky gold design that exposed her bellybutton and sideboob, as well as a snakeskin SAME Los Angeles halter top and cheeky bottoms.
In the article, the “BFFs” podcast cohost got candid about Bryan, 28, revealing he told her in May 2024 that if she hosted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 60th anniversary celebration red carpet, it would come off as “trashy” and off-brand.
Now that she’s made her steamy debut on the magazine’s cover, LaPaglia quipped that her photoshoot “is just, on a petty level, my favorite f— you.” She quipped, “This is me, and I wanted to do this, and now I’m on the digital cover.”
LaPaglia continued, “It’s a lot more than me looking quote-unquote hot in a swimsuit — it’s me reclaiming who I am as a woman, reclaiming my body and my decisions and my choices.” She added, “This cover is me being me again and taking control of my life. This is my body; my body isn’t that experience, and even though I’m not 100% in it right now, this is me. This doesn’t have anything to do with anybody else.”
The influencer, who split with Bryan in October 2024 after more than a year of dating, spilled that the singer was allegedly emotionally abusive and controlling while they dated. LaPaglia also claimed that Bryan offered her $12 million and an apartment in New York City if she stayed silent about what happened during their relationship. (He hasn’t publicly commented on the breakup since his initial statement. Us has reached out multiple times for comment.)
Refusing to take the money and opening up about her experience, LaPaglia became a spokesperson for women who went through similar situations.
“I think people do tend to forget I’m just 25,” LaPaglia said about the “overwhelming” response she received after opening up about her relationship.
“It’s really overwhelming to feel the pressure of being a role model on top of everything in my life being very public, because at the end of the day, I’m still just a girl trying to figure her life out.”
During the Tuesday, January 14, episode of the “Dinner’s On Me” podcast, Bates, 76, said the executive producer “rejuvenated” her career after he cast her in his FX anthology series American Horror Story.
“Right before he gave me the opportunity to do the show, I had breast cancer and [my show] Harry’s Law had been cancelled rather unpleasantly,” Bates told host Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “When that summer happened, it was degrading.”
Bates recalled feeling “kind of humiliated” at the time, adding, “I felt like I had let my cast down and had never been through an experience like that. And then breast cancer, which does run in my family, so I wasn’t surprised.”
The actress wasn’t sure whether she would book more roles before Murphy, 59, came along.
“But, it was more painful than I thought it was going to be,” she noted. “And I really felt like this is my career over.”
Bates appeared on season 3 of American Horror Story as Delphine LaLaurie before returningfor three more installments of the anthology series. She last appeared in season 8 as Miriam Mead and she has since struck gold with CBS reboot of Matlock.
“I remember calling my agents and saying, ‘I think maybe I want to go into, if not retirement, semi-retirement. If I can’t afford to keep my house, I’ll sell it and maybe go to New York,’” Bates told People in October 2024 about hitting a lull. “Then this happened. I couldn’t believe it.”
Despite fan concerns that Matlockwould be her final project, Bates denied that she was done with acting.
“I think people got confused and thought I was going to retire,” she added at the time. “What I meant was, how can it get any better? I would love for this to keep going.”
Bates currently plays Madeline “Matty” Matlock on the hit CBS series, which premiered in September 2024 to critical acclaim. Despite sharing the same last name as the iconic Matlock from the ’80s, Matty was introduced as a former lawyer hoping to get hired at a prestigious law firm after falling on hard times.
It was later revealed, however, that it was all an act. Matty is actually the wealthy Madeline Kingston, who went undercover at the firm to track down who is responsible for her daughter’s death. The current suspects on Matty’s list include Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), Julian (Jason Ritter) and Senior (Beau Bridges) — all of whom could have had access to documents that would have taken opioids off the streets before her daughter died from an overdose.
“Certainly, I think that there’s a level of guilt, which is in the deep marrow of Matty. The fact that she feels tremendously guilty that she failed her child, and was unable to win the battle between the drugs and her child’s future, no matter what she did,” Bates told Entertainment Weekly after the premiere. “And also the level of, she’s been grieving for 10 years and I think she spent the last couple of years with her grandson Alfie cooking up this plan and using their wits. And I think all of that level of excitement and joy of working with him and finding that he was very passionate about bringing those people to justice that killed his mother.”
Months and months ago, I decided to stop getting my nails done. There were a few motives for my decision, one being the price and two being the nail damage. I also get impatient sitting for long periods of time, so that was likely part of it! Getting my nails done every three weeks was something I could justify until I realized that I could do a better job myself — with zero experience.
And no, I’m not a nail whiz or a shockingly artistic individual. (Actually, I probably fall on the opposite side of the spectrum!) But you don’t have to be gifted in art to get a long-lasting salon-quality manicure. I tried this Daisy DND Gel Polish Set on Amazon and haven’t looked back! My nails, pocketbook and busy schedule are much happier since I switched.
This polish is made without formaldehyde, xylene, triphenyl phosphate and other harmful ingredients that are hard to pronounce as well as animal-derived ingredients, a major bonus for Us ingredient-conscious folks. You never know what you’re getting at the salon! Without all the chemicals, my nails are much stronger and healthier after removal, which only takes about 10 minutes.
The set comes with a matching gel polish and nail lacquer, both of which last much longer than regular polish; the gel polish (when applied correctly) doesn’t chip, has an ultra-glossy finish and shines from a mile away. Plus, the vibrant color lasts for up to three weeks! I constantly use my hands, so I get closer to two, but still . . . it’s much better than regular polish that chips the first day — or the first hour.
You need the DND Base Gel, Top Gel and an LED lamp to use this set, so be sure to have those before you start. Once you have the proper setup, your salon-grade manicures will cost pennies on the dollar! There are endless colors to choose from, but I love the DND collection for winter. You can also check out the Diva and DC collections for a twist!
And it’s not just me who loves this polish. Over 11,000 reviewers on Amazon give it five stars, calling it “perfect”, “bold” and “just like the salon”, one writing that it’s “worth every penny”. Salons use this brand, too, so it’s quite literally like the salon! Many reviewers buy multiple bottles of their favorites, but I’m in an experimental phase, trying as many different colors as I can. It makes sense why people are obsessed!
Get the DND Gel Pink Collection Polish Set for $17 on Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate at the date of publication, January 15, 2024, but are subject to change.

Myka and James Stauffer made a name for their family on YouTube, but everything drastically changed after they rehomed their adopted son, Huxley.
The couple adopted Huxley from China in 2017 when he was 2 years old. Myka and James also share children Kova, Jaka, Radley and Onyx, who were not adopted. The entire Stauffer family was featured in videos shared via their YouTube channel, which documented their daily lives together.
Huxley was eventually diagnosed with autism after his adoption, and fans grew concerned when they noticed he was no longer appearing in new videos. In 2020, Myka and James made an emotional confession explaining that they rehomed Huxley because they struggled to provide him with the proper care.
While the Stauffers were adamant Huxley was in a better place with a new family, they faced backlash from fans following the incident. Myka and James subsequently deleted their YouTube channel.
Despite their step away from the spotlight, the Stauffer scandal is taking center stage again thanks to the HBO docuseries An Update on Our Family, which explores Huxley’s rehoming and the family vlogging industry.

What Tipped Off Fans About Huxley?
In April 2020, fans noticed in a video on James’ individual channel, Stauffer Garage, that Huxley’s car seat was missing from the backseat of his vehicle. When viewers inquired about Huxley’s whereabouts, the comments were allegedly deleted. Myka and James also changed the viewing settings for their videos with Huxley from public to private.
What Did the Stauffers Say About Reversing the Adoption?
In a May 2020 video, Myka and James revealed that Huxley had found a “new mommy” and a “forever home” that could better care for him.
“Once Huxley came home, there were a lot more special needs that we weren’t aware of and that we were not told. So over the past few years, Huxley has been in numerous therapies to try and help him with all of his needs. Over the last year has been the more intense therapy to try and help him as much as possible,” James said in the video. “For us, it’s been really hard hearing from the medical professionals. A lot of their feedback [has been] really upsetting for us, because it’s not what we ever wanted to hear. We never wanted to be in this position, and we’ve been trying to get his needs met and help him out as much as possible.”
Myka, for her part, shared that she and James loved Huxley and tried their “hardest” to be the best parents they could for him.
“Do I feel like a failure as a mom? Like, 500 percent,” she said. “So when I get insidious, hurtful comments, it just, like, really makes it hurt worse. It’s not about me at all, but … the last couple of months have been the hardest thing I could’ve ever imagined.”
Were the Stauffers Investigated?
Us Weekly confirmed in June 2020 that law enforcement was looking into Huxley’s welfare after news broke that Myka and James placed him with another family. The authorities shared in a press release at the time that “all adoption cases are confidential,” so there are “legal requirements that must be adhered to,” including “home studies as well as background checks.”
One month later, the case against Myka and James was closed and charges were not filed. Authorities met with Huxley’s new adopted parents and found that the toddler seemed to be “very happy and well taken care of,” per a report obtained by Us at the time.
What Are the Stauffers Doing Now?
After facing backlash from rehoming Huxley, the family deleted their YouTube channel. Myka has not been active on social media, but her last Instagram post featured an apology to the adoption community.
“We did not adopt a child to gain wealth. While we did receive a small portion of money from videos featuring Huxley and his journey, every penny and much more went back into his care,” she wrote in June 2020. “Secondly, we are not under any type of investigation. I’m hoping to share more from my side of the story soon. And lastly, I’m so sorry for letting you down.”
James, for his part, continues to run his Stauffer Garage page where he shares videos of his various automobile projects.
Simone Biles treated herself to a timeless Birkin bag.
Biles, 27, took to Instagram on Tuesday, January 15, to show off the latest Hermès Birkin she purchased. The gymnast shared an unboxing video, where an employee pulled the accessory out of a dust bag. Biles zoomed in on the purse, which featured a brown body, white stitching, gold hardware and tan embellishments. The Birkin, which had small structured handles, retails for $34,000, per Maison de Luxe.
“,” Biles captioned the post. “Treated myself to a new lil baby while in New York.” She continued, gushing over her husband, Johnathan Owens, “Johnathan came for emotional support, baby I was sweaaaating.”
While this is possibly the largest purchase Biles has made, she’s also the proud owner of an Hermès Kelly bag.
Biles showed off her sleek black Kelly bag while posing with Owens, 29, on a date night in New York City on Monday, January 13. Her bag featured small hand straps and a single long crossbody hook. The design, which retails for $30,000, was complete with silver hardware.
While the accessory is the epitome of elegance, Biles dressed it down with a white zip-up hoodie and charcoal baggy jeans festooned with tiered fringe. She added the perfect amount of sparkle with a silver “JO” ring, Owens’ initials, dainty necklaces and a hand chain.
Owens, for his part, coordinated in a black bomber jacket, dark pants and a graphic white T-shirt. He teamed his look with a chain necklace and a flashy watch.
Her Kelly bag is perhaps the same one that she splurged on after becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time during the 2024 summer Paris Olympic games. While shopping, she shared pics of printed Birkins, a brown crocodile-skin Kelly and more. She later teased the purchase by snapping a pic of her orange Hermès shopping bag.
