6 Chic, Rentable and Compliment-Earning Wedding Guest Dresses

7 January 2025 at 04:00

The number one rule of wedding guest dressing is to never wear white or outshine the bride. However (and I think any bride would agree), you should still come to the wedding looking your absolute best. And for many of Us, that means having a stellar wedding guest dress.

Contrary to popular opinion, looking your absolute best does not have to blow your budget. I mean, going to weddings is expensive anyhow, considering the gift, the travel accommodations, the bachelorette parties, etc., so you might as well save where you can. That’s why we rounded up six chic summer wedding guest dresses from Rent the Runway so you can get designer style at a fraction of the cost.

If you haven’t already been introduced, Rent the Runway is a clothing subscription service that allows you to rent designer styles for much, much less (up to 90% off) than their original price tag. You can do one-time rentals for one big event (such as a wedding) for four or eight days, depending on how long you need it for. We recommend checking out the various subscriptions too.The 10-item subscription plan is 40% off through June 21!

You simply pick out the piece or pieces at the size that you want, pick the dates you need them for and watch as they show up, dry cleaned, at your doorstep.

These dresses below will make you look your best but also feel your best thanks to the endless compliments you’ll receive. Below, we’ve included everything from formal styles for black tie weddings, but also casual, laid-back styles for more relaxed dress codes or outdoor weddings. Kylie Jenner Leaves Timothee Chalamet Out of Golden Globes Instagram Post

One of the most talked-about moments from the 2025 Golden Globes was undoubtedly Kylie Jenner spending the evening all over her actor boyfriend Timothée Chalamet — but if you ask Jenner herself, it was actually more of a girls’ night.

On Monday, January 6, the model and reality star, 27, documented her night at the glitzy awards via her Instagram grid, sharing a series of glamorous photos from the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles with the caption: “Cuuutest night w the cutest girls in a little 1999 Versace.”

It appears Jenner’s low-cut, backless, chainmail Versace dress was inspired by one of Elizabeth Hurley’s many iconic turn-of-the-century looks. Way back in 1999, when Jenner was still in diapers, the actress wore a lilac version to the CFDA Awards, when she was Hugh Grant’s date.

Of course, on Sunday night, Jenner was on the arm of a beloved and well-respected curly-haired actor too — but, as ever, Chalamet, 29, was nowhere to be seen in her Insta post.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder attended the ceremony in support of Chalamet, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama, for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

The couple might have been dating for nearly two years but he’s conspicuous by his absence on her social media feeds. Chalamet is clearly more than happy to PDA with his girlfriend (the pair were pictured kissing at the Globes), and we’re sure her phone is brimming over with smooching selfies of the gorgeous couple, but we guess not everyone wants to be an Instagram boyfriend.

Instead, Jenner’s official account of the night was all about the girls and the dress. She shared a cute selfie of her posing with Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown costars, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro, but it was mostly her outfit that was centerstage.

It isn’t the first time Jenner has seemingly been inspired by Hurley. At last year’s Golden Globes, she recreated the long, sheer black lace outfit the 59-year-old British actress wore to the Pantages Theatre in 1997, again with Grant. Perhaps Jenner sees herself and Chalamet as a modern-day version of one of the ultimate ‘90s power couples?

Jenner wasn’t the only star at Sunday’s event to pay tribute to iconic outfits from the past: Ariana Grande’s vintage Givenchy look was a nod to Audrey Hepburn.

Hoda Kotb Teases Next Career Move After 'Today' Exit: 'Building Phase'

Hoda Kotb is ready for life after Today.

The NBC stalwart, 60, is set to leave the popular morning program on Friday, January 10, after 17 years as cohost, and has already lined up her next venture.

During a Monday, January 6, appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kotb shared that she is starting her own wellness company comprising an app, podcast and retreats. It is expected to launch in the spring, she told host Kelly Clarkson.

Clarkson prised details of the new project out of Kotb using her signature humor. “I have to say though, ma’am, as soon as they told me you were not doing the Today show, I was like, ‘So what’s that bitch doing?’” Clarkson quipped. “I was like, ‘There’s no way you’re not doing anything.’ You’re me — you like projects, you like work.”

What Is Hoda Kotb Doing After 'Today' Exit? Details on Her Career Moves

Kotb agreed, “I like things, I do,” before explaining how she got “hooked” into wellness “a couple of years ago.” She added, “I started doing stuff that I thought seemed woo-woo and weird, and then all of a sudden as I was doing it, I was like, ‘Wait, I feel calmer, I feel better.’”

Kotb said her new company will allow patrons to “get together and do things I love.”

“And when you’re done, it’s not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun. But this is something that when you leave, you’ll go like, ‘Oh my gosh. I feel transformed. I feel different.’ So I’m in the building process of that,” she continued.

Kotb announced her departure from Today in September 2024 after 17 years as cohost and nearly three decades at NBC.

“I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new. This is the right time for me to move on,” she said on the show, citing her daughters, Haley, 7, and Hope, 5, as motivation for the decision.

“I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one,” she added in a letter to her NBC coworkers. “And you all are the reason why. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show.”

Why Did Hoda Kotb Quit The ‘Today’ Show? What’s Next for the Beloved Anchor

“My time at NBC has been the longest professional love affair of my life,” she continued. “But only because you’ve been beside me on this twenty-six-year adventure. Looking back, the math is nuts. 26 years at NBC News — Ten years at Dateline, seven on the seven o’clock hour, sixteen on the ten o’clock hour.”

Kotb’s final Today, a “Hoda-bration,” airs Friday on NBC. Craig Melvin will take over her role as Savannah Guthrie’s Today coanchor. Today With Hoda & Jenna will be revamped into Today With Jenna & Friends and feature Jenna Bush Hager alongside a rotating lineup of guest hosts until a permanent replacement is picked.

Adrien Brody Addresses Whether He's Really Banned From 'SNL'

Adrien Brody is clearing up speculation that he’s banned from Saturday Night Live.

The Brutalist star hosted a May 2003 episode of the NBC sketch show, during which he controversially wore a dreadlocked wig and spoke in a Jamaican accent to introduce musical guest Sean Paul. Ever since there’s been speculation that he is banned from the show, which resurfaced Sunday, January 5, after he won a best actor award at the Golden Globes.

But in an interview with Vulture published last month, Brody, 51, denied the rumor, though he added, “But I also have never been invited back on,” he says, laughing. “So I don’t know what to tell you.”

Brody said the bit was his idea, though the show provided the costume. “They were all literally agape from me pitching,” he explained.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Controversies Through the Years

He added, “I think Lorne [Michaels, SNL creator] wasn’t happy with me embellishing a bit, but they allowed me to.”

At Sunday’s Golden Globes, Brody took home Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for his role as László Tóth in The Brutalist. The accolade came 23 years after Brody won an Academy Award for The Pianist at age 29.

“It’s been many years, it’s been decades, and I’ve had a long life and career and a lot of peaks and a lot of valleys,” Brody told Us Weekly and other reporters in the Beverly Hilton press room following his win. “It’s given me perspective. It’s given me great appreciation for this moment.”

Brody noted that “it can all go away,” referring to his career, which has spanned more than three decades.

“I am very grateful. I’ve had a very blessed career, but as you can see, it’s still a challenge to find work that is as meaningful as this,” the actor said, referring to The Brutalist.

'Emilia Perez' Takes Home the Most Movie Wins at 2025 Golden Globes

In the movie, Brody stars as a Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor who emigrates to America following World War II.

“That you can have a triumph in your life again is incredibly healing and rewarding,” Brody said, noting that the movie “speaks to my family’s struggles and the hardships that they’ve faced.” (In his acceptance speech Sunday, Brody said that his character’s story is similar to that of his own family’s experience of the Holocaust.)

Nikki Garcia Makes 1st Red Carpet Appearance Since Artem Divorce

Nikki Garcia is in her moving-on era!

The former WWE star — who rose to fame under the stage name Nikki Bella — returned to where it all started on Monday, January 6, to celebrate the premiere of WWE’s Monday Night Raw on Netflix.

Garcia, 41, joined current and former WWE stars on the red carpet at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, in her first major red carpet appearance since settling her divorce from ballroom dancer Artem Chigvintsev in November.

The WWE Hall of Famer rocked a red leather strapless corset and matching pants for Monday’s occasion.

Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev’s Relationship Timeline

Garcia’s red carpet return comes two years after she and sister Brie Garcia ended their affiliation with WWE and two months after she and Chigvintsev — who share son Matteo, 4 — divorced last year amid a domestic violence dispute. “Nikki and Artem have settled their divorce and will not be going to court,” Garcia’s rep said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “Both parties decided to drop the domestic violence restraining orders against each other in an effort to move on with their lives and effectively coparent their son.”

The statement continued: “Nikki’s number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter. She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”

Chigvintsev, 42, was arrested in August following an alleged altercation with Garcia in Napa, California. At the time, Us confirmed that the dancer was arrested for domestic battery and booked on a felony domestic violence charge. He was released on bail the same day. (In September, prosecutors declined to charge him.)

One week after news broke of his arrest, Chigvintsev and Garcia both filed for divorce.

In December, Garcia addressed her separation from Chigvintsev for the first time on an episode of her and sister Brie’s “The Nikki & Brie Show” podcast.

“I’ve been heartbroken. You dream of having this family and you have this incredible love, and it just goes the other way. You go from having a great love story to having a terrible one,” she said.

Celebrity Couples Who Have Filed for Divorce More Than Once

On a later episode of the podcast, Garcia said that she hasn’t had “a day without tears” since settling her divorce from Chigvintsev. “I just know that situations like this, divorce, whatever it may be, it takes a piece of you,” she said. “It takes a piece of your heart that will never grow back or never be replaced, but it’s, ‘How do we make that piece of you that’s gone strong?’”

Garcia and Chigvintsev began dating in 2019 after competing together on season 25 of Dancing With the Stars in 2017. The pair welcomed their son, Matteo, in 2020 and went on to tie the knot in 2022.

Pamela Anderson 'Almost Got Killed' When She Was Mistaken for The Chicks

Pamela Anderson had a scary mid-flight encounter with a man who mistook her for one of The Chicks.

Anderson, 57, shared the story on the Monday, January 6, episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast when host Josh Horowitz asked her which celebrity she’s been confused with.

“This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?’” Anderson remembered. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What have I done?’”

Anderson went on to recall that the man glared at her from his seat and eventually tried to harm her.

Revisiting the Chicks’ 2003 Controversy That Changed Country Music History

“This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me,” she said, explaining that “he thought I was a Dixie Chick. Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing? I almost got killed on a plane.”

More than 20 years ago, The Chicks — formerly known as The Dixie Chicks — received major backlash after lead singer Natalie Maines took the stage at a London concert in 2003 and denounced President George W. Bush and the decision to invade Iraq. “Just so you know,” she said between songs, “We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”

Afterward, country music stations pulled the band’s music amid listener complaints and allegations of “anti-American” rhetoric. (In 2006, Maines, 50, and bandmates Martie Maguire and Emily Robinson triumphed with the success of their seventh album, Taking the Long Way, which earned them five Grammys.)

Anderson recalled on “Happy Sad Confused” that her run-in with the angry man had shaken her.

Pamela Anderson Is a Total Babe Back in Her Bangs Era

“I was scared to fly after that, a little bit,” she said.

The Baywatch icon, meanwhile, is enjoying a career comeback for her acclaimed role in the film The Last Showgirl. Anderson earned a 2025 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, losing to Fernanda Torres. She hit the red carpet in style, however, eschewing full glam for minimal makeup — her signature.

She has recently embraced a bare-faced look at glamorous events, first at Paris Fashion Week in 2023, and inspired others to do the same.

“I’m makeup-free at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week?” she told People that year, adding, “I didn’t expect anyone to notice, but I’m glad it sparked a positive message.”

She emphasized her desire to break free from conventional beauty standards, saying, “It felt empowering to look in the mirror and say, ‘I’m OK just like this.’”

Blake Lively's Lawyers Denounce 'More Attacks' From Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively’s lawyers are denouncing “more attacks” from Justin Baldoni and his team.

The New York Times broke the news on December 21 that Lively had sued Baldoni — her costar and director of the film It Ends With Us — for sexual harassment. Baldoni denied all allegations against him made in the lawsuit, which was obtained by Us Weekly, and days later, was among 10 plaintiffs who launched a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for its coverage of Lively’s accusations.

On New Year’s Eve, Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, 40, in a New York federal court, mirroring her earlier claims that were submitted with the California Civil Rights Department. In addition to Baldoni, Lively is suing publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, as well as Wayfarer Studios, Baldoni’s production company.

Attorneys for the actress told Us in a statement on Monday, January 6, that Lively’s “serious claims of sexual harassment and retaliation” are “backed by concrete facts.”

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Alleged Feud and Lawsuits Explained

“This is not a ‘feud’ arising from ‘creative differences’ or a ‘he said/she said’ situation,” the lawyers’ statement read, per the outlet. “As alleged in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and as we will prove in litigation, Wayfarer [Studios] and its associates engaged in unlawful, retaliatory astroturfing against Ms. Lively for simply trying to protect herself and others on a film set. And their response to the lawsuit has been to launch more attacks against Ms. Lively since her filing.”

The statement noted: “Sexual harassment and retaliation are illegal in every workplace and in every industry. A classic tactic to distract from allegations of this type of misconduct is to ‘blame the victim’ by suggesting that they invited the conduct, brought it on themselves, misunderstood the intentions, or even lied.”

Lively’s team continued, “Another classic tactic is to reverse the victim and offender, and suggest that the offender is actually the victim. These concepts normalize and trivialize allegations of serious misconduct.”

And in conclusion, they wrote, “Most importantly, media statements are not a defense to Ms. Lively’s legal claims. We will continue to prosecute her claims in federal court, where the rule of law determines who prevails, not hyperbole and threats.”

Blake Lively Versus Justin Baldoni's Version of 'It Ends With Us'

Us reached out to Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, for comment.

On Thursday, January 2, Freedman told NBC News that he “absolutely” planned to sue Lively on behalf of his client.

“We plan to release every single text message between the two of them,” Freedman told the outlet. “We want the truth to be out there. We want the documents to be out there. We want people to make their determination based on receipts.”

Previously, he shared a statement with Us, vowing to “take down” The New York Times for its “vicious smear campaign.”

As for the Times, a spokesperson told Us that the outlet is planning to “vigorously defend” itself.

“The role of an independent news organization is to follow the facts where they lead,” read a statement on December 31. “Our story was meticulously and responsibly reported. It was based on a review of thousands of pages of original documents, including the text messages and emails that we quote accurately and at length in the article. Those texts and emails were also the crux of a discrimination claim filed in California by Blake Lively against Justin Baldoni and his associates.”

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Confirm Romance With L.A. Date Night

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are stepping out to confirm their romance hand in hand.

The duo were photographed holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes in Los Angeles on Monday, January 6, according to images published by People. Jackman, 56, sported a black jacket, gray T-shirt and white jeans, while Foster looked equally chic in a beige trench coat and green maxi dress.

According to the outlet, the actors — who costarred in a revival of The Music Man revival on Broadway — had dined together in Santa Monica.

Two days prior, Jackman was spotted supporting Foster’s West Coast run of Once Upon a Mattress.

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Are 'Happier Than Ever'

The Deadpool & Wolverine star was seen at L.A.’s Ahmanson Theatre on Saturday, January 4, per photos circulating on social media. In the snaps, Jackman was seen recording seatmate Carol Burnett receiving an unexpected round of applause during intermission.

Sources exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024 that a romance between Jackman and Foster sparked while the twosome began working together on The Music Man the year prior.

“They’re happier than ever,” a source said at the time, noting that their relationship is a “wonderful next chapter” with a “balance of playfulness and genuine admiration.”

Per the insider, Jackman was drawn to Foster’s “immense talent, infectious positivity and grounded nature” with the Tony-winning actress appreciating his “kindness, professionalism and ability to make others feel valued.”

Hugh Jackman, Sutton Foster’s Romance 'Is the Reason' He Divorced Wife

Jackman was previously married to Deborra-lee Furness for 27 years, announcing their separation in September 2023.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” Jackman and Furness, 69, said in a joint statement at the time. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority.”

The statement concluded, “We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

Jackman and Furness share two adult children.

Who Is Sutton Foster's Ex-Husband Ted? What She Said About Their Marriage

Foster, for her part, was married to screenwriter Ted Griffin for a decade. She filed for divorce in October 2024, which has yet to be settled. The Younger alum and Griffin, 53, share daughter Emily, whom they adopted in 2017. (Foster was also previously married to fellow Broadway star Christian Borle between 2006 and 2009.)

According to the insider, Foster and Jackman’s relationship was “the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced.”

“A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people,” the source claimed in November. “Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”

'Catwoman' Jocelyn Wildenstein to Be Cremated and Taken to Kenya

Jocelyn Wildenstein will be cremated in the wake of her death on New Year’s Eve.

The Swiss socialite, who gained notoriety — and the moniker “Catwoman” for her plastic surgery that made her resemble a feline — died peacefully in her sleep while staying in a Parisian palace on Tuesday, December 31. She was 84 years old.

Wildenstein’s longtime partner, Lloyd Klein, told TMZ on Monday, January 6, that she’ll be cremated, with her remains transported to her ranch in Kenya following an intimate funeral in Paris. According to the outlet, the ranch is the site of her father’s grave and where her mother’s ashes are located.

Days earlier, Klein revealed to People that Wildenstein had battled phlebitis, which is inflammation of the veins near your skin due to blood clots.

‘Catwoman’ Jocelyn Wildenstein Filmed a Reality Show Before Death: Report

“Because of her phlebitis, the legs were very, very swollen, and the blood was blocked, and there was no oxygen in the brain,” Klein told the outlet on January 2. “And we were having a nap and when I woke up, I said, ‘Jocelyn, we have to wake up, we have to get dressed,’ and she was cold and she was dead.”

He noted at the time, “It’s very sad. … It’s extremely sad to lay down with your other half that I have known for 21 years and waiting to celebrate New Year’s Eve and to find her cold.”

Prior to her death, Wildenstein (born Jocelyne Périsset) garnered headlines for her exaggerated cosmetic surgery. Following her first surgical procedure in the late 1970s, observers began comparing Wildenstein’s eye lift to that of a lynx, which she kept as a pet.

Wildenstein was also known for her marriage to billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein. The two wed in 1978 and divorced in 1999. Their split and legal battle received heavy media coverage, with Alec telling Vanity Fair at the time that he lacked a say in how much surgery his then-wife had, despite reports that he encouraged her dramatic physical transformation.

General Hospital’s John Capodice Dead at 83

“She was crazy. I would always find out last,” he claimed, according to The Times. “She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.”

Jocelyn, for her part, told The Times in June 2023 that her ex-husband had “hired a publicist and paid a plastic surgeon to certify that I completely changed my face” so he could “win the divorce.”

However, Jocelyn — who was also dubbed “the Bride of Wildenstein” because of her surgeries — triumphed in the end. She reportedly won $2.5 billion in the divorce, laughing all the way to the bank.

Alec died in 2008 after a battle with cancer, and Jocelyn moved on with Klein in 2003. She met the designer after attending one of his Lloyd Klein Couture fashion shows. He was reported to have proposed to Jocelyn in 2017 at the Versace Mansion in Miami.

Tom Holland's 'Low-Key' Proposal Was Exactly What Zendaya Wanted: Source

6 January 2025 at 19:56

Zendaya couldn’t be happier with how Tom Holland’s proposal played out.

“Tom figured the holidays were the best time to propose in a very low-key way,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly shortly after news of the couple’s engagement broke on Monday, January 6. “She didn’t want anything over the top.”

One day before Us confirmed the pair’s relationship milestone, Zendaya, 28, sparked engagement rumors on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet by sporting a diamond ring on her left hand. According to the insider, “Zendaya tried to keep it a secret but was very excited to show off her ring. She didn’t think people would notice but didn’t care either way.”

The source went on to note that both felt the timing was right. “Tom wanted to propose because he feels he is at the right time in his life and feels ready to settle down.” the insider said. “They had many conversations over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is giddy and excited. She knew it might have been coming but never put pressure on it.”

Zendaya and Tom Holland's Relationship Timeline

Holland, 28, previously shared that he was spending the holidays with Zendaya’s family in the U.S. during a December 2024 episode of “The Dish from Waitrose” podcast. “Where we’ll be is a secret. … I’ll know where we’re going [but fans won’t],” he said without spoiling his proposal plans.

Bringing their families together for the holidays is something he and Zendaya want to start doing going forward. “That’s what I think we want to do next time, ‘cause we’re both actors; We’re both terrible at organizing things, so it hasn’t happened yet,” he explained.

Holland and Zendaya first sparked romance rumors in 2017, the same year they costarred in their first film together, Spider-Man: Homecoming. The couple eventually took a break and Zendaya briefly dated her Euphoria costar Jacob Elordi from 2019 to 2020 before she and Holland got back together. Their romance was confirmed in July 2021 after being spotted kissing in a car. They made their red carpet debut as a couple that November at the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Another source exclusively told Us in July 2024 that the duo’s relationship was “the real deal,” noting, “They started as besties, and that’s [why] their relationship is rock solid. … They’re each other’s biggest supporters. They ‘get’ each other.”

At the time, the insider noted that Holland and Zendaya’s families were “all in” on their romance. “[They] think they’re perfect together.”

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s Quotes About Their Relationship Over the Years

In an interview with Men’s Health earlier this month, Holland revealed that he one day plans to step back from acting after starting a family. “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” he revealed. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”

When asked why he wasn’t making any awards season red carpet appearances with his now-fiancée, Holland told the outlet: “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”

HBO Sets Premiere Month for 'The Last of Us' Season 2

6 January 2025 at 19:51

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return for more post-apocalyptic adventures on the upcoming second season of HBO’s The Last of Us.

Based on the 2013 video game of the same name, the series follows Joel (Pascal), a grizzled survivor tasked with transporting Ellie (Ramsey) across the country, 20 years after a zombie-like fungus, cordyceps, wiped out much of civilization. As they continue on their journey, the unlikely duo form a surrogate father-daughter bond along the way.

Upon the show’s premiere in January 2023, the series — cocreated by Craig Mazin and the game’s writer and creative director, Neil Druckmann — was renewed for season 2 after only two of the season’s nine episodes had aired.

The second season is expected to follow the plot of the video game’s 2020 sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which picks up a few years after the original story. Though the show hasn’t been picked up for a third installment, Mazin previously teased that the series’ team may need more than one more season to properly portray Part II’s events.

“The amount of remaining story would take us more than a season to tell. But definitely, I don’t see this as something that runs on and on and on,” he told Collider in January 2023. “We don’t have that ambition. Our ambition is to tell the story that exists, as best as we can, in a different medium.”

HBO previewed the streaming slate for 2025 in August 2024, giving The Last of Us fans a first look at the new episodes. “I saved her,” Pascal as Joel says to the camera with tears in his eyes, delivering an iconic line from the video game series.
The network revealed in January 2025 that the show will premiere in April.

HBO released a teaser trailer in September 2024 to celebrate The Last of Us day. O’Hara can be seen sitting face-to-face with Pascal, asking if he wants to “start.”
The two-minute clip teased what fans can expect to see in the show — including a first look at some of the new characters. Plus, it seems more Clickers will be bringing the drama.
“You can’t heal something unless you’re brave enough to say it outloud. Say the thing you’re afraid to say,” O’Hara’s voiceover could be heard saying. “What did you do?”

Season 2 is expected to be inspired by the events of the video game's sequel, The Last of Us Part II. Without spoiling what lies in store, the story picks up with Joel and Ellie several years after the original game's events. In addition to working through struggles in their relationship, a major event sets Ellie on a dangerous journey for revenge.
As for whether the show will “deviate” from The Last of Us Part II’s story, Pascal told Deadline in January 2024, “I think that they’re always gonna find ways to build on the incredible source material that they have and surprise us with how they can use that material in a different format, like a television show.”

Pascal and Ramsey are set to return as Joel and Ellie, respectively, along with Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother, Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Tommy’s wife, Maria.

Having previously teased the show could carry over into a third season, Mazin told The Hollywood Reporter in August 2023 that he could see the series running for four seasons total.
“Some seasons, because of the story we’re telling, will need fewer episodes and some will need more. The best news is the audience wants more,” he shared. “We will not indulge a desire for more simply to make them happier when they hear how many episodes are announced. And if they don’t like how many episodes are in a season because they want more, well, OK.”
He continued: “But when all is said and done, I think the wisdom of how we lay it out will hopefully be clear. I don’t know if any season will actually have the same amount of episodes. But, whatever, the number’s not important. What’s important is when they get to the end of the season, they’re like, 'That was a good season.'”

HBO confirmed Dever was cast in the second season in January 2024 as Abby. Video game players will know the name well. The network describes Abby as a "skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those who loved."

The Schitt’s Creek alum was announced as a season 2 guest star in February 2024. Her character was not revealed at the time, leaving fans questioning who O’Hara could be playing. It is possible her role could be a new character created for the show, similar to the way that Melanie Lynskey’s season 1 character, revolutionary leader Kathleen, did not appear in the video game.
One day before her casting announcement, O’Hara revealed she was in talks to join the series during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. She also shared that one of her two sons works as a set dresser on the HBO series. O’Hara shares kids Matthew and Luke with her husband, Bo Welch.

It was announced in May 2024 that Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role as Isaac from The Last of Us Part II video game in season 2 of the series. Per Variety, the character is described as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”

Not long after Dever was cast as Abby, HBO announced that Young Mazino and Isabela Merced would be joining The Last of Us season 2 as Jesse and Dina, respectively. Dina, in particular, plays a major role as Ellie’s love interest.
Ramsey shared their excitement over Merced’s casting via their Instagram Story in January 2024, writing, “We’re gonna take over the world. @isabelamerced.”
The following month, HBO announced the addition of Danny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle and Spencer Lord to the cast. Ramirez will play Manny, a loyal soldier whose sunny outlook belies a fear that he’ll let his friends down, while Barer will portray Mel, a young doctor committed to saving lives amid war and tribalism. Gabrielle will be Nora, a military medic struggling to come to terms with her past, and Lord joins as Owen, a gentle soul in a warrior’s body who’s fighting an enemy he refuses to hate.

Inside Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Divorce: Who Got What?

When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce, they took their personal belongings with them.

The exes formally ended their marriage on Monday, January 6, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly. In doing so, both parties “agreed to divide all assets and liabilities” to avoid further litigation and expense.

Lopez, 55, keeps all of her personal belongings and earnings from their date of separation — April 26, 2024 — as well as half of their bank accounts. Affleck, 52, gets the same. Per the settlement agreement, they’ll also divide their $60 million mansion in Beverly Hills that is now on the market, but the specific terms to the agreement are sealed.

In the divorce, Lopez retains her clothing, jewelry and “miscellaneous personal effects in her possession, custody or control,” and all assets that she owns “individually or by entities of which [Lopez] is the sole owner, member or shareholder.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Relationship Timeline

Meanwhile, Affleck holds onto his interest in the Artists Equity production company that he founded with Matt Damon in November 2022. The agreement states that he “shall pay, indemnify and hold [Lopez] harmless from any and all liabilities, claims, debts, actions, causes of action and/or tax liabilities associated with” the company.

They settled their divorce via mediation in September. Lopez requested to drop “Affleck” from her last name and restore her legal name to Jennifer Lynn Lopez.

The actress filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024. Instead of tapping a lawyer to submit paperwork on her behalf, Lopez submitted it herself on the two-year anniversary of the pair’s Georgia wedding, despite their separation date being months earlier.

At the time, celebrity divorce attorney Chris Melcher suggested in an interview with Us that Lopez’s decision to file sans attorney was “intentional to send a message that this will not be a fight.” Melcher posited that the duo had possibly “worked out most of [the] issues before going public with the filing.”

Jennifer Lopez's Dating History: A Timeline of Her Famous Relationships

Lopez and Affleck share a long history. They met on the set of the box-office bomb Gigli in 2001 and got engaged in November 2002. They were headed to the altar in September 2003, but called off their wedding days before the ceremony. They confirmed their split in January 2004.

Sparks flew anew when the couple — famously known as “Bennifer” — reconnected in May 2021 and became engaged again in April 2022. They exchanged vows in Vegas that July and hosted a second ceremony in Georgia the next month.

Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and Marc Anthony — with whom she shares twins Max and Emme — from 2004 to 2014. Affleck, for his part, was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and they coparent their three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.

In May 2024, rumors of marital troubles began swirling after Lopez and Affleck weren’t seen together in public for 47 days. Us soon confirmed that Affleck had moved out of their home.

A source exclusively told Us that June that they couldn’t “get on the same page [and had] been discussing divorce as an option.”

ANTM’s Adrianne Curry Shares Breast Implant Extract Journey: 'Wept Nonstop'

America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry is opening up about how a breast implant extract changed her perception — and her life.

“Five years post breast implant explant, and I have had a total metamorphosis,” Curry, 42, wrote via X on Monday, January 6. “The first year, I wept nonstop. Had lost over 90% of my natural breasts to necrosis and refused to get a fat transfer. I wasn’t willing to risk my health anymore for vanity. I had a crash course in being humbled and laid bare.”

A “breast implant extract,” also called a “breast implant removal” or “explant,” is a surgical procedure where a doctor removes previously placed silicone or saline breast implants, according to the Cleveland Clinic. While some people have implant removal surgery because of tissue hardening around the implant or other complications, others may have surgery to replace old implants with new ones.

Curry detailed her own grueling surgery and post-op process on Monday, sharing that her husband, Matthew Rhode, had to “cut out all my stitches due to remote living and the weather.”

“I was brought to my knees in humility and came through the fire of my vanity dying,” she continued. “It took a solid 2 years for them to settle and look human. My husband was my rock….and I can’t believe how unbothered he was by my frankentitties.”

Five years later, Curry — who won the first cycle of America’s Next Top Model back in 2003 – is “happy and healthy,” and wouldn’t “wish plastic surgery” on her “worst enemy.”

“It did nothing to ease my body dysmorphia and only gave me years of suffering,” she explained, adding, “Be OK with who and what you are. In my case, with a lot LESS of what I was.”

Following her vulnerable post, people flocked to the comments section to praise Curry for being so candid about her experience with plastic surgery. When one fan thanked the model for “sharing what I can’t imagine to be easy things to share,” Curry replied, “If I can stop anyone from mutilation of their healthy bodies with this….then it was not a wasted lesson.”

A second person revealed that they sent Curry’s post to their daughter who was thinking of getting implants herself. “Dear god, I hope she doesn’t mutilate her body,” Curry responded.

Elsewhere in the comments section, Curry acknowledged that she holds herself “100 percent accountable” for her breast implants and for making what she sees now as “an uneducated and life changing decision.”

The former reality star also clarified that she did not get the extract because of cancer or illness, but due to “stupidity, vanity and body dysmorphia” noting she initially got the implants because half of her chest is “conclave,” but they didn’t “fix it.”

Curry rose to fame on the debut season of ANTM in 2003, where she was awarded a modeling contract, brand deals and more. After nine years in the fashion industry — and a stint VH1’s reality show My Fair Brady with first husband Christopher Knight — she walked away from the industry. She and Rhode went on to tie the knot in 2018.

Last month, Curry took to social media to reveal that she and Rhode have been living “VERY remote” for the past seven years.  “I can go months without hanging [with] anyone other than my husband,” she shared via X at the time. “My life is lived in the thundering, glorious silence of the wilderness.”

She added, “I get easily overwhelmed in large groups/cities now. It can take days to decompress from the experience.”

“I am more tuned into the earth than I ever have been in my life,” she explained. “My awareness of the forest and what is in it around me is quite sharp.”

Several hours later, Curry shared another image of her Montana paradise via Instagram, captioning the shot, “There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where. You’re meant to be. It’s easy. All you need is love.”

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his wife, Marissa Lawrence, are the proud parents of a baby girl.

“Shae Lynn Lawrence. Born 1/4/25 at 4:01 am. 10 pounds 2 oz 🎀🩷,” Marissa, 25, wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 6. “Mommy and daddy love you so much!!! Thank you Jesus for our girl!!”

The couple’s announcement included a photo of Marissa in her hospital bed with Trevor, 25, sitting by her side. Their daughter rested in between them as they smiled for the camera.

Marissa donned a cozy black pajama set while the football player rocked a baseball cap that read “Girl Dad” for the occasion. Trevor also wore an arm sling as he underwent shoulder surgery to repair an AC joint injury last month. Their little one looked sweet in a white onesie.

In an additional snap, Shae wore a knitted pink sweater with her name stitched in brown while resting in her hospital bassinet.

Marissa’s post also included snaps of her and Trevor taking their little one home. In one photo, Trevor carried out his daughter with his good arm as she was secured in her car seat.

As the family of three returned to their house, Marissa also shared a photo of her snuggling Shae while sitting next to the window overlooking their backyard.

Trevor and Marissa are high school sweethearts who began dating in 2016. The twosome got engaged after four years of dating. They tied the knot in April 2021. In June 2024, Marissa revealed that she was pregnant with her and Trevor’s first child.

“A little Lawrence on the way 🤍,” she captioned their announcement which featured her, Trevor and their two pups.

One month after sharing her exciting news, Marissa and Trevor learned they were expecting a baby girl. The twosome threw an ice cream-themed sex reveal party with their closest friends and family in attendance.

“Trevor and I were so grateful to have our people in town all weekend just relaxing and having fun!!” Marissa captioned a July 2024 Instagram Reel recapping the party. “We found out just the two of us earlier in the week about baby girl and couldn’t wait for everyone else to find out what our little scoop was 🍦🎀.”

Nearly one week before welcoming Shae, Marissa took to Instagram to gush about how excited she was to meet her little one as her due day approached.

“Thank you Jesus for this amazing life I get to live with the love of my life. Thank you for our sweet girl and a beautiful pregnancy,” she captioned a video with some of her pregnancy highlights. “We can’t wait to meet her!! What a gift she already is 💕.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Relationship Timeline

6 January 2025 at 17:20

The word “Bennifer” might include flashbacks to frosted lip gloss and butterfly clips, but everything comes back in style eventually. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got back together nearly 20 years after their romance first took the world by storm.

The pair first connected in 2002 on the set of the ill-fated Gigli. The movie flopped at the box office and among critics, who claimed Affleck and Lopez didn’t have much chemistry.

It was a different story off-screen. Lopez filed for divorce from second husband Cris Judd in June 2002, and she went public with the Good Will Hunting star after. The “Waiting for Tonight” singer had a 6-carat pink diamond ring on her finger by November.

Their wedding was set for September 2003, but they canceled just days before the ceremony due to “excessive media attention” before officially splitting in January 2004.

Nearly two decades after seemingly moving on (with Lopez marrying Marc Anthony and Affleck starting to see Jennifer Garner in 2004), the exes reunited in spring 2021. Lopez and Affleck finally said “I do” in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022.

Us Weekly confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in January 2025.

Lopez and Affleck were engaged by November 2002. Affleck proposed with a 6-carat pink diamond ring.
The duo even welcomed Dateline's Pat O’Brien into their Vancouver rental home to discuss their relationship, but they wouldn’t say exactly when they fell in love. “You can’t pinpoint it,” Lopez said. “We became friends first. That is the honest to God truth.”

Lopez believed tabloid attention majorly impacted the relationship. "I think different time, different thing, who knows what could've happened, but there was a genuine love there," she told Jess Cagle.

Affleck said Lopez should have received an Oscar nod for her work in Hustlers. "She should have been nominated. She's the real thing,"he told New York Times reporter Brooks Barnes. "I keep in touch periodically with her and have a lot of respect for her. How awesome is it that she had her biggest hit movie at 50? That's f--king baller."

Less than two weeks after Us confirmed that the former couple had been spending time together again, the duo were spotted vacationing in Big Sky, Montana. "They looked very happy together," an insider told Us of the trip. “It was just the two of them on vacation together. Big Sky is a special place to Ben.”

After sparking romance speculation in April 2021, a source exclusively told Us in May that the exes have “always loved each other” and Lopez’s friends “won’t be surprised if they end up together.” A second source added that the duo had a “heart-to-heart” following their respective splits from Ana de Armas and Alex Rodriguez in 2021, which “reignited a spark between them.”

Days after Us confirmed that Lopez was in California to visit Affleck, the Massachusetts native and the Grammy nominee were spotted hanging out together in Miami. The director was seen walking behind Lopez as the musician smiled during their Florida outing in photos obtained by the Daily Mail in May 2021.
“Jen and Ben are both very happy with each [other] and are excited to see where the relationship goes,” an insider told Us following the duo's Miami getaway. “They are full-on dating and very happy together.”

The Gigli costars got cozy in the Hamptons while celebrating 4th of July shortly after taking their kids on a fun-filled trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood. Days later, Lopez gushed that she's "never been better" during an interview on Zane Lowe's Apple Music radio show. "It's the best time of my life," she said.

As the duo's relationship continued to heat up, a source told Us that the pair were "fully committed" to starting a future together — and planned "on moving in together very soon." The same month, a second source revealed Affleck and Lopez had been house hunting in Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

© Kristina Bumphrey/StarPix/Shutterstock

"There's been so many times in my life where I have not felt happy, just like anybody else. And I think I'm good at hiding that from the public because I don't feel like that's their burden to carry. I don't put that on them," Lopez said while promoting her single "Cambia El Paso" on Apple Music, adding that she'd felt "really, really good" in recent months. "Everything is just amazing. And I feel great. Everything is beautiful."

The pair were spotted house-hunting in the chic Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. One of the homes they looked at was listed at $65 million and included a bowling alley, movie theater, gym and wine cellar. In video footage obtained by TMZ, the duo packed on the PDA while looking at real estate.

The "Dance Again" singer playfully dodged a question about whether she looks "happier" during an interview with Hoda Kotb. She replied she is "always happy when you see me" after the Today host commented on her appearance. When Kotb asked point-blank if she was "happier," Lopez turned the discussion back to her new song with Lin-Manuel Miranda. "The song is out, five years since we’ve done it,” she said on the Today show appearance. “And I believe that that message of loving one another and coming together and love, is never more relevant than it is right now.”

Affleck gushed over his "strong" girlfriend as she was named Adweek's 2021 Brand Visionary. "I am in awe of what Jennifer's effect on the world is. At most, as an artist, I can make movies that move people. Jennifer has inspired a massive group of people to feel they have a seat at the table in this country. That is an effect few people throughout history have had, one I will never know and one I can only stand by and admire with respect," he noted at the time.

The Marry Me star said she and Affleck are trying to keep their relationship private because they remember the publicity circus of their early '00s romance.
"I think what we learned from the last time is that love, when you are lucky enough to find it, is so sacred and special and you have to hold a little bit of that privately and that's what we've learned," Lopez said during an appearance on Today. "But we're very happy, if that's what you wondering about."

Affleck walked the red carpet alongside his girlfriend at the Los Angeles premiere of her romantic comedy Marry Me. Lopez told Entertainment Tonight that the red carpet was a night of work and fun for her.
"It's a great date night. We're super happy," the singer said. "What can I tell you? We're just having a good time."

The Last Duel star directed a special remixed music video of Lopez's “On My Way” single, which was released in conjunction with the Marry Me film.
“I am going to share something very special and personal with you that normally that I would only share with my inner circle,” Lopez wrote via her OnTheJLo newsletter on February 11. “It’s an early Valentine’s Day present from Ben. Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, it’s unexpected twists and turns, and that when it’s real, it actually can last forever. This seriously melted my heart.”

Affleck and his son, Samuel, supported Lopez as she accepted the Icon Award at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards. "Thank you for teaching me who I really am."

Marin, who worked with Lopez on Shotgun Wedding in March 2021, recalled Affleck reaching out to his ex-fiancée when they were filming. “She was just so happy all the time,” Marin told HollywoodLife one year later. “I wish them only good things in life especially if they can make it and do this at the same time.”

They’re engaged! Lopez announced that Affleck popped the question again 18 years after their initial split via her On the JLo newsletter. In a video message sent to her fans, an emotional Lopez showed off her huge, green diamond engagement ring, saying, “You’re perfect.” She also teased the “major announcement” with a video on Twitter on April 8. “So I have a really exciting and special story to share…” the singer told her followers, adding a diamond ring emoji to her Twitter handle.

A few days after her initial engagement announcement, Lopez revealed in another "On the JLo" newsletter that Affleck proposed on April 2 while she was in the bathtub. "Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed," she wrote. "I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES."

After Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan mentioned her alleged Raya exchange with Affleck during season 5 of the Netflix series, a rep for the actor told Us that the pair "never met." Hernan later clarified to E!'s Daily Pop that the dating app messages were sent in 2019, though she said on the reality show that it happened "right before" Affleck and Lopez reunited. As the scene raised eyebrows, a source told Us that the fiancés "couldn't be happier," adding, "This isn't affecting their relationship one bit."

While accepting the Generation Award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Lopez concluded her speech with a sweet message for Affleck. "Ben and everybody at home, wait for me to have dinner. I will be home by 7!" she said.
That same month, the performer reflected on the couple's full circle connection. “It’s a beautiful moment,” Lopez told Entertainment Tonight about rekindling her romance with Affleck. "I feel like there’s a lot left for me. So, I’m very excited about it. I do think it’s just halftime."

"Happy Father’s Day to the most caring, loving, affectionate, consistent and selfless Daddy ever," Lopez captioned an Instagram video of affectionate moments between her and Affleck in honor of the holiday.
The social media post also included a voiceover from the Marry Me actress, which said, "This is the best time of my life. I love my career, but nothing is more fulfilling to me than being able to build a family with someone who I love deeply and who is just as dedicated to family and to each other as we can be. And I'm feeling incredibly blessed."

The Marry Me star shared details of the pair’s Georgia wedding festivities in the September edition of her “On the J.Lo” newsletter.
“It had rained at sunset every day that week. Everyone was worried about the heat, the aptly named ‘love bugs,’ the details, would the guests all arrive on time, etc. — not to mention the thunder and lightning that arrived almost on cue each day at the exact time the ceremony was supposed to start that Saturday,” Lopez wrote. “Oh, and all of us caught a stomach bug and were recuperating ‘til late in the week, that, and along with a few other unexpected setbacks, had all the makings of a doozie of a wedding weekend.
Despite the various concerns, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer revealed she “never had a doubt” the wedding would go off without a hitch. The “sun broke free” just minutes before the couple said “I do,” and Lopez referred to it as “one of the most perfect moments” of their lives.
“The sky was clear blue, and distant clouds of pure white held fast in the sky. As the sun set behind the live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a warm breeze swept over the lawn where our closest family and friends sat and, at long-last, I started my walk down the stairs that would become the aisle that would lead me toward the rest of my life. Ahhhhh … it was actually happening,” she gushed about the romantic ceremony.
The New York native also revealed the song that played during the first dance — “The Things We Handed Down” by Marc Cohn — and spoke about serenading her hubby at the reception, which took the Good Will Hunting star’s breath away.
"When he saw me appear at the top of the stairs that moment it both made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken,” Lopez noted. when I got close enough to see his face, it made the same wonderful sense to me. Some old wounds were healed that day and the weight of the past finally lifted off our shoulders. Full-circle — and not at all the way we planned it. Better.”

An insider told Us that the duo are "still in their honeymoon phase" months after their two weddings. "They are very head over heels for each other," the source said. "Becoming husband and wife hasn't changed their relationship much, except for the fact that it solidified what they had. They're looking at homes to purchase together and hoping to find one they're both happy with. It's been an ongoing process."
After their two honeymoons, the duo are focusing on work and family. "Jen is hard at work filming, and Ben has been taking over daddy duty and helping out with the kids a lot," the insider explained. "She adores the fact that he is such a great father and she can always rely on him. He's been very supportive of her and has visited her on set, which she loves."

The Grammy nominee announced her ninth album, This Is Me ... Now, exactly 20 years after the release of 2002's This Is Me ... Then, which featured a tribute to Affleck titled "Dear Ben." When Lopez revealed the new track list via Instagram on November 25, fans noticed another song dedicated to Affleck titled "Dear Ben pt. II."

Lopez revealed during an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe that her now-husband inscribed a secret message on her second engagement ring. "Not. Going. Anywhere," she said. "Because that's how he would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like, 'Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.'"
The songwriter also reflected on losing the "love of my life" after their early 2000s split. "It was so painful after we broke up," she confessed. "Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn't get it right. ... Now, we know. And there [are] no questions and there is no kind of like, 'Well, let's see how this goes.' Like, 'Nope, it's me and you. That's it. All the way, till the end. That's it. It's going to be us.'"

In her "On the JLo" newsletter, Lopez gave fans a glimpse of how she and her husband celebrated their first Christmas as a "blended family" with their children. "I've been hunkering down at home (and loving it) since I wrapped my last movie, just getting ready for the holidays!" she wrote, explaining that her festive season was inspired by her new song "Hummingbird" from her album This Is Me ... Now. "I decided this year that the hummingbird would be a perfect theme. We have blended families, doubled the people, doubled the fun, doubled the love, doubled the presents and tripled the chaos!!"
She went on to describe a new tradition she and Affleck began for their littles ones: a Christmas Taco Tuesday. "This was the first time in a long time we were able to get together with people that we haven't seen in forever," Lopez added. "The party was filled with family, friends, colleagues, and people we've known from over the years. We sang and danced and had the most amazing time!"

The twosome packed on the PDA at the premiere of Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding. While promoting the movie on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress got candid about their Sin City wedding.
“We were planning to get married in August in Savannah, the family was going to be there, everyone’s going to be there, and it was so stressful. … And it kind of all fell apart [when we were supposed to wed in 2004] and this time, I absolutely had a little PTSD and I was like, ‘Is this happening?’” she said. “We were so happy, but I just felt the wedding was so stressful. And one day Ben just said, ‘F—k it, let’s just go to Vegas and get married tonight.’”
After admitting that she’s “learned to embrace” the Bennifer nickname, Lopez explained how her second-round at romance with Affleck inspired her upcoming album.
“I did an album 20 years ago that, obviously, had a song called ‘Dear Ben’ on it that was about the time that me and Ben were together then. I got very inspired when we got back together,” she said of This Is Me Now. “It was kind of like a miracle and something that neither one of us really ever thought would happen and I went into the studio, and I wrote an album in two months.”

Bennifer's appearance at the 2023 Grammys made headlines — but it was Affleck who stole the show with his meme-worthy facial expressions as he appeared unamused throughout the night's performances while Lopez was dancing to every song. Despite Affleck's affect going viral, Lopez wrote via Instagram that she had the "best night" at the 65th annual awards show with "my love, my husband."

Lopez showed off her new infinity tattoo — dedicated to beau — for Valentine’s Day. “Commitment ♾️,” the Marry Me star captioned a series of images via Instagram that included her new ink along with a second piece of body art that seemingly belonged to Affleck. The design included two arrows crossing over each other with the letters “J” and “B.”
In addition to their new tattoos, Lopez shared a few images of the happy couple over the years,  including some stills from a boat outing that featured the Argo director grabbing the Shotgun Wedding actress' posterior.

Affleck revealed that Lopez had been encouraging him to be more open amid speculation about his unapproachability. "She thinks that because of experiences that I’ve had, I’ve become very guarded. And she’s right," the Air star told The Hollywood Reporter. "I view these things as land mines, where if you say one wrong thing, your career might be over. She tells me today, 'Relax, be yourself. Have fun. You’re a fun guy who is real and genuine and you just seem so serious.' Do I seem serious? But as in many things, she’s right. And she loves me. She’s looking out for me. She’s trying to help me. So, it’s like, maybe I ought to f–king listen to her."

Lopez dropped her “cinematic odyssey” alongside her ninth studio album, This Is Me … Now. The record served as a sequel to 2002’s This Is Me … Then, which was released during her first go at romance with Affleck. A documentary about the making of the film was also released, titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
Affleck made cameos in both movies. While he was overall supportive of the project, also expressed his discomfort in being featured.
“I did really find the beauty and the poetry and the irony in the fact that it’s the greatest love story never told,” he told the camera during the documentary. “If you’re making a record about it, that seems kind of like telling it.”

An insider exclusively told Us that the pair were “having issues in their marriage,” which began when Lopez ramped up "work commitments” in preparation for her tour.
“Jen is very focused on work,” the source explained. “They are on two completely different pages most of the time.”
While the insider noted that Lopez also looked at a home in Los Angeles that she’s saying is intended as an investment property, a second told Us that Affleck started staying at a place in L.A. that is separate from the couple’s usual home.
The second insider also confirmed that despite any issues, the couple had no plans to separate and are working on their relationship.
Lopez canceled her This Is Me … Live Tour later that month in order to take time off “to be with her children, family and close friends,” per an email shared by Live Nation and her fan newsletter.

A source told Us that the pair, who continued to sport their wedding rings in public, were selling their shared L.A. home. “Jennifer is distraught. She wants to sell their house off-market to try and get less attention surrounding it,” another insider revealed. “Ben doesn’t care about the negative attention [because] he’s been through this before and it doesn’t faze him.”
The same source also noted that the two had been “discussing divorce” while working to sell their home.
That month, Lopez called Affleck “our hero” in an Instagram Story post for Father’s Day, while Affleck referred to her as “my wife” on an episode of Kevin Hart’s Peacock talk show Hart to Heart.

Amid news of the pair’s marital woes, a source exclusively told Us that Affleck and Lopez were “doing their own thing right now” and were “living separate lives.” However, a second insider noted that there was still a “sliver of hope” for reconciliation.
“They are going through so much individually and as a couple,” a third source shared. “They may take some time to see if this complicated moment can resolve itself and they come back to each other [as] better people.”
A different source later told Us that the couple were hoping to sell their shared home sooner rather than later. “They decided to list the house very recently, within the last week,” the insider explained. “They thought they could sell it off-market but made a game-time decision in order to put more eyes on the property. They are in a rush to sell it. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there.”

Jennifer Lopez's Dating History: A Timeline of Her Famous Relationships

6 January 2025 at 17:15

Jennifer Lopez has famously been in several high-profile romances. Lopez has been married four times, her most recent marriage being with Ben Affleck.

Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme, from 2004 to 2014. Before marrying Affleck in 2022, they were previously engaged from 2002 to 2004. In addition, Lopez got engaged to Alex Rodriguez in 2019 before they called it quits in 2021.

After ending her relationship with Rodriguez, Lopez then rekindled a romance with Affleck and the singer announced their second engagement in April 2022. Three months later, the couple tied the knot at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas. Us Weekly confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage. Us confirmed the pair had finalized their divorce four months later.

The Selena star married the producer in February 1997, but their marriage was short-lived; they divorced 11 months later. In August 2007, a court-appointed arbitrator issued a permanent injunction that forbid Noa from “criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging” his ex-wife. Noa later appeared on Millionaire Matchmaker in 2016.

Lopez began dating the hip-hop mogul in 1999 after the pair met on the set of a music video, but they later split up in 2001. In a 2003 interview with Vibe magazine, the Maid in Manhattan actress claimed Diddy was unfaithful during their relationship. The former rapper, for his part, waxed poetic about Lopez in 2017, proclaiming she was “without a doubt” one of his great loves. The former couple remain friendly, embracing each other warmly backstage at her Las Vegas residency, All I Have, in September 2018.

The Monster-in-Law actress met the dancer on the set of her "Love Don't Cost a Thing" music video and the two tied the knot in September 2001. The couple's marriage was over by June 2002 and their divorce was finalized in 2003. Judd explained that their marriage “just didn't work out” while speaking with Us Weekly in September 2014. “I can't give you the answer as to why her relationships don't work. I think that it's that it is work. It's whether you want to work on it or not. Everyone has baggage and problems. It's whether you want to deal with those problems,” he told Us at the time. “When you sign up to get married, you can't just walk away.” Judd has since remarried to Kelly Wolfe, with whom he shares daughter Vivienne.

Lopez and Anthony married in June 2004, welcoming twins Max and Emme in February 2008. However, they announced their split in July 2011. The Enough star later noted that she “knew very quickly that [their marriage] wasn’t the right thing,” telling W in April 2016, "When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness. It wasn’t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment and anger. But Marc is the father of my children, and that’s never going away. So I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do."

Just four months after splitting from Anthony, the “Dinero” singer started dating the backup dancer in November 2011. Lopez later hired Smart as the creative director of her All I Have residency in Las Vegas. The former flames endured a bump in the road in 2014, when gossip site The Dirty claimed to have evidence that Smart had been exchanging photos and messages with a transgender model. They went their separate ways in June of that year but continued with their on-again, off-again relationship before splitting up for good in 2016. There weren’t any hard feelings following their final breakup, however. Smart told Us Weekly in March 2017, “Jennifer is, like, phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal.”

The “God’s Plan” rapper and Lopez first connected backstage in December 2016 after he attended her All I Have show. In January 2017, a source revealed to Us Weekly the pair were dating and were “the real deal.” Drake pulled out all the stops while the pair dated, reportedly decking out an L.A. church for a makeshift winter wonderland-themed prom where they were “crowned” king and queen. However, in February of that year, Us confirmed that they had called it quits, with a source telling Us at the time that their brief relationship “died down a bit” after the “Nice for What” crooner embarked on his European tour. Drake touched on their romance in “Diplomatic Immunity,” rapping “2017 I lost a J. Lo / A Rotterdam trip had me on front page, though,” seemingly referring to the "Jenny From the Block" singer’s relationship with Alex Rodriguez.

Fourth time’s the charm? Lopez and the former Yankee announced their engagement in March 2019 after more than two years of dating. The pair — who were first linked in February 2017 — often gushed about their love and admiration for one another. In July 2018, the former Fly Girl penned a sweet tribute to her then-beau on his birthday: “Baby, spending time with you over the past year and a half … getting to know the real you more and more … I am surprised everyday by the generous, loving person you are to me and everyone around you.”
In October 2018, a source told Us Weekly that the couple were looking into moving in together — which made sense since they had happily merged their families together (Rodriguez shares Natasha and Ella with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis). In December 2018, Rodriguez noted that Lopez made him “feel like a kid again.” A source told Us that month, “An engagement is definitely on the horizon. Alex is obsessed with Jen and spends as much time as he can with her.”
Lopez and Rodriguez postponed their wedding multiple times amid the coronavirus pandemic. Us confirmed in March 2021 that they were "working through some things" amid reports that the pair had split and called off their two-year engagement.
She and the retired athlete broke up the following month, writing in a joint statement to Today: “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

The Justice League star and Lopez — famously nicknamed “Bennifer” by the press — met while filming Gigli, and they got engaged in November 2002. The couple called off their wedding four days ahead of the event and later split up in January 2004. “I was eviscerated. I lost my sense of self, questioned if I belonged in this business, thought maybe I did suck at everything. My relationship [with Affleck] self-destructed in front of the entire world,” the “Not Your Mama” singer told Vanity Fair in December 2017 of the headlines surrounding the critically panned Gigli and her split from the Oscar winner. “It was a two-year thing for me until I picked myself up again.” In 2005, the Gone Girl actor later married Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares daughters Violet and Seraphina, and son Samuel. Affleck and Garner’s divorce was finalized in 2018.
In May 2021, Affleck and Lopez reunited and were spotted together on multiple occasions, including on a getaway in Montana and a romantic getaway to Miami. Us confirmed later that month that the couple were officially back together.
"Jen and Ben are both very happy with each [other] and are excited to see where the relationship goes," a source exclusively revealed to Us. "They are full-on dating and very happy together."
In April 2022, Lopez announced that the couple were officially engaged for the second time. Us confirmed Affleck and the Parker actress wed in July 2022.
Us confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage. They finalized their divorce in January 2025.

Ben Affleck’s Dating History Through the Years

6 January 2025 at 17:10

Ben Affleck is no stranger to a high-profile romance — but not all of them have ended happily ever after.

Over the years, the Justice League actor has proven that he can still be on good terms with an ex despite breaking up. In a February 2020 New York Times profile, he showed his support for ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez after her 2020 Academy Awards snub for her work in Hustlers.

“She should have been nominated. She’s the real thing. I keep in touch periodically with her and have a lot of respect for her,” he told the publication at the time. “How awesome is it that she had her biggest hit movie at 50? That’s f–king baller.”

In May 2021, Us Weekly confirmed the pair were back together after splitting more than a decade earlier. In April 2022, Lopez confirmed that the couple were officially engaged for the second time. Three months later, the pair tied the knot in Las Vegas. Us confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck after two years of marriage. They finalized their divorce in January the following year.

Affleck met Paltrow at a dinner hosted by Harvey Weinstein back in 1997 and they began dating later that year. From there, the A-listers costarred in 1998’s Shakespeare In Love but called it quits in 1999. They rekindled their relationship while filming Bounce, but called off their romance a second time in late 2000.

Affleck met Lopez on the set of their film Gigli. Following the finalization of Lopez’s divorce from Cris Judd in June 2002, she and Affleck got engaged that November. The Gone Girl actor and “On the Floor” singer, who earned the power couple name of “Bennifer” during their romance, announced the end to their engagement in January 2004.
Nearly two decades later, the pair reunited following Lopez's split from Alex Rodriguez. They spent a weekend together in Montana in May 2021, and a source told Us that they have “always loved each other." After the duo were spotted kissing at a gym during a romantic getaway to Miami, a source confirmed to Us that they were back together.
"Ben and Jen feel so close to each other very quickly," the insider shared. "The old flame is absolutely rekindled. They picked up where they left off in terms of affection for each other." In April 2022, Lopez officially confirmed that the couple were engaged again for the second time. Us confirmed the pair wed in July 2022.

Affleck costarred with Garner in 2001’s Pearl Harbor and 2003’s Daredevil, but their romance wasn’t confirmed until October 2004. The Way Back actor popped the question in April 2005, and they tied the knot in Turks & Caicos in June 2005. The duo welcomed Violet in December 2005, Seraphina in January 2009 and Samuel in February 2012.
After their 10th wedding anniversary, the Live By Night actor and Alias alum announced their separation in June 2015. Their divorce was finalized in October 2018.
In February 2020, the Oscar winner said the “biggest regret” of his life was his divorce from Garner. “Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame,” he told The New York Times. “It’s just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing.”

Though Affleck kept his romance with the Saturday Night Live producer under wraps until July 2017, multiple sources confirmed to Us that the pair had started hooking up in 2014 during his marriage to Garner. “They were having a full-blown affair,” a source close to Affleck and Garner alleged to Us. “They were sleeping together, sending each other cute texts and meeting up whenever they could.”
Things appeared to be getting serious between Affleck and Shookus, as they wound up moving into an NYC apartment together in November 2017. After they called it quits in August 2018, he briefly dated Shauna Sexton.

Affleck and Armas met on set of their upcoming film, Deep Water. The duo sparked romance rumors in March 2020 when they went on a Cuban getaway together. Days later, a fan spotted the Town actor and Knives Out actress “making out” while waiting in the security line at a Cuban airport.
Us exclusively revealed later that month that the pair were “happy together and officially dating.” In May 2020, a source told Us that Affleck is “very serious” about the Knock Knock star and “wants [his] kids to spend time with her so they can get to know her.”
In January 2021, a source confirmed to Us that they had amicably split.

Al Roker Says a Final Promise to His Dad Led to His Gastric Bypass

It’s been more than 20 years since Al Roker underwent gastric bypass surgery, but he still remembers what his father told him that inspired his weight loss journey.

“To be honest, I struggled with my weight for most of my adult life,” Roker, 70, told People in an interview published on Monday, January 6. “And my dad had gotten very ill, and at one point toward the end, he made me promise that I was going to get in shape.”

The promise and his father’s blunt words changed the Today show correspondent’s life forever.

“He said, point-blank, ‘Look, we both know I’m not going to be here to help you raise your kids. You’ve got to be here for your children,’” Roker recalled of his father’s final warning. “And that really stuck with me, and that led me to do a gastric bypass.”

Todays’ Al Roker Admits His Knee Surgery Was ‘A Bit of a Bear,’ But He’s Healing

Roker underwent gastric bypass surgery in March 2002, at the time weighing 340 pounds. By the end of that year, he had lost 100 pounds.

The beloved Today cohost revealed in his 2013 memoir, Never Goin’ Back: Winning the Weight Loss Battle for Good, that he gained 40 pounds after the death of his mother in 2011. However, he managed to slim down to 205 pounds by 2012.

“I used to use travel as an excuse to eat poorly. Now I don’t go anywhere without my scale; I literally pack it with me,” Roker told Parade in December 2012. “It gives me permission to have a bad day, or even just a bad moment. In the old days it was, ‘Well, I’ve blown it; I may as well just go hog wild.’ Now it’s [like], ‘OK, I made a mistake, let’s get back on the wagon.’”

Al Roker Talks Food Struggles, Says He Won't 'Judge Anybody' Using Ozempic

Twenty years after the surgery, Roker is still celebrating his health journey. He shared a photo of his 54-size Levi jeans that he wore when he arrived at the hospital, writing via Instagram in March 2022, “It’s still a struggle but I’m never going back.”

The weatherman, who says he now tries to stay around the 190-pound mark, revealed, “I have setbacks and struggle every day, but I never forget how far I’ve come.”

Roker’s fitness journey has also been thwarted at times because of other health struggles. In September 2020, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After undergoing surgery to remove his prostate, lymph nodes and some surrounding tissue, Roker was considered cancer-free. His Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) levels dropped below 1 as a result of the surgery, which means it’s technically undetectable.

Two years later, Roker had another health scare that resulted in him missing three weeks of work on the Today show. He explained in November 2022 that he was admitted to the hospital for a blood clot in his leg. According to a social media post shared by Roker at the time, “some clots” were sent into his lungs.

Roker ultimately needed surgery to fix the blood clots and was readmitted to the hospital several days later as a result of complications. He later shared that the surgeons found two bleeding ulcers and removed his gallbladder.

He remained at home, recovering through the end of 2022. Roker returned to the NBC broadcast in January 2023.

Al Roker Thanks Wife for 'Not Pulling the Plug' on 29th Anniversary

“Al’s recent hospitalization was very scary. [He] counts himself so lucky to have gotten speedy treatment and knows that ultimately, he’s lucky to be alive,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “He’s been so brave throughout this, never complaining or feeling overly sorry for himself, always wanting to know how others are doing even when he’s at his lowest. Right now, he’s following all the doctors’ advice.”

Since his most recent health scare, Roker has refocused on his wellness journey. This month he became the Chief Motivation Officer for the Start Today fitness app, produced by the Today show.

The app allows followers to get meal plans, daily motivation tips, fitness challenges and more wellness assistance in one place.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage is officially over.

The pair settled their divorce on Monday, January 6, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly. The news comes 20 weeks after Lopez filed for a dissolution of marriage on August 20, 2024.

The relationship between Lopez and Affleck, 52, goes back more than 20 years. Lopez and Affleck met on the set of Gigli in 2001 and got engaged in November 2002. They were initially scheduled to get married in September 2003, but they called off their wedding days before the planned ceremony, and in January 2004, they confirmed their split.

The two reconnected in May 2021 and became engaged again in April 2022. They tied the knot in Las Vegas that July and hosted a second ceremony in Georgia the following month.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Relationship Timeline

In May 2024, speculation surfaced about the state of Lopez and Affleck’s marriage after they were not spotted together for 47 days. Us Weekly confirmed later that month that Affleck moved out of their Beverly Hills home.

A source exclusively told Us in June that they couldn’t “get on the same page [and had] been discussing divorce as an option.”

The following month, a second insider claimed there was a “sliver of hope” for a reconciliation.

“They are going through so much individually and as a couple,” a third source told Us. “They may take some time to see if this complicated moment can resolve itself and they come back to each other [as] better people.”

Lopez ultimately filed for divorce from Affleck in August, listing April 26 as their date of separation. Instead of utilizing an attorney, she submitted the paperwork herself on the two-year anniversary of the duo’s Georgia wedding.

History of Jennifer Lopez's Past Divorces: From Ojani Noa to Ben Affleck

According to an insider, the date of the filing was no coincidence. “The timing of the divorce was a big f–k you to Ben,” the source told Us in August.

Despite the jab, celebrity divorce attorney Chris Melcher speculated in an August interview with Us that Lopez’s decision to file without an attorney of record was “intentional to send a message that this will not be a fight.” Melcher believed that the pair had likely already “worked out most of [the] issues before going public with the filing.”
