“Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy,” Glaser, 40, quipped at the top of the Sunday, January 5, awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
The couple looked loved up inside the ceremony after Gomez, 32, posed for solo red carpet pics. She channeled classic Hollywood glamor in a stunning pale blue and diamond jewels. Blanco, 36, complemented her look in an all-white suit.
Blanco was on hand to support Gomez, who was nominated in two separate acting categories this year. She received nods for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for her character of Jessi Del Monte — the wife of the titular cartel leader — in Emilia Pérez and for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her role as crime-solving podcaster Mabel Mora on Only Murders in the Building. (She was previously nominated for her performance on the Hulu series in 2023 and 2024, too.)
She ultimately lost in both categories to her Emilia Pérez costar Zoe Saldaña and Hacks‘ Jean Smart.
Gomez also competed against Wicked’s Ariana Grande, The Brutalist’s Felicity Jones, The Substance’s Margaret Qualley and Conclave’s Isabella Rossellini for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture and Nobody Wants This’ Kristen Bell, Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri and Agatha All Along’s Kathryn Hahn for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
Gomez and Blanco’s appearance at the Golden Globes comes less than one month after they confirmed their engagement. “Forever begins now..,” she captioned Instagram photos of her ring and the pair celebrating on December 11.
Blanco commented on Gomez’s post at the time, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”
One week later, Blanco reshared the engagement photos via his Instagram Stories, writing, “Still can’t believe it!”
Gomez and Blanco went public with their relationship in December 2023, with Gomez revealing via Instagram that they had secretly been together for “six months” at that point.
“He is my absolute everything in my heart,” she gushed at the time. “He [has] been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. The end. … He’s still better than anyone I’ve been with. Facts.”
In July 2024, a source hinted that an engagement was coming for the twosome. “She and Benny are very serious and have talked about marriage,” the insider exclusively told Us Weekly, adding that the romance was “definitely endgame” for Gomez.
Lizzo is ready to tackle the new year with dialed-up confidence.
The “About Damn Time” singer, 36, took to Instagram on Sunday, January 5, to share two photos of herself dressed in a skimpy black bikini paired with a black shirt emblazoned with the words, “F— you.”
Lizzo captioned the carousel with a fierce mantra she’s committed to taking into this year. “2025 is the year of keeping the vibration on a higher frequency than what the world tries to lower it to,” she wrote. “Don’t subscribe to the bulls— just to make others feel comfortable live truthfully and don’t hold back— it’s your world!”
While the first photo in the series captured the singer gazing sultrily into the camera while sipping on a coconut, the second shot presented a close-up of the coconut, etched with the script, “Case G3 Lizzo,” as she kept her face hidden behind the tropical fruit.
The social media post cements Lizzo’s self-confidence era as she continues to show off her figure online after shutting down Ozempic accusations.
During the early months of 2024, Lizzo’s weight loss journey was attributed by some online fans to GLP-1 drugs primarily prescribed for adults who struggle with obesity. The speculation ran rife despite Lizzo telling The New York Times during an interview published in April of last year that she had been, “methodical, losing weight very slowly.”
The online rumors led to Lizzo addressing them head on in September 2024. “When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,” Lizzo wrote via social media at the time.
Lizzo stood up to the accusations just one month later by dressing up as Ozempic packaging for Halloween, revealing the costume via Instagram on October 26, 2024, and captioning it, “LizzOzempic dump.”
Lizzo’s epic shutdown was amplified by her choice to bedazzle the packaging with her name in capitalized block letters. Furthermore, a tape measure was fastened around her waist to indicate a slim-down, and she also carted around a fake slice of pizza as an accessory.
As for Lizzo’s latest post, fans were quick to show their support for the musician’s unwavering body confidence. One Instagram user wrote in the comments, “Now THIS is what protecting your peace looks like! Now tag the maker of that shirt please! ,” while another wrote, “STRONG, CONFIDENT and ENOUGH..”
One particularly supportive fan commented, “Weight loss doin its thang gurl keep it up! Proud of u!!!”
“We’re very supportive of each other. I’m very lucky to have a family member who’s in the business. She understands what it’s like and what you’re going through,” Elle exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2018. “Of course, we talk about [our] movies and, ‘Oh, what are you about to go do?’ And that’s exciting, but there’s other things to talk about.”
Elle further explained that her big sibling knows her personality better than anybody else. “My sister would probably describe me as a free-spirited person,” she told Us. “In the grocery store going down the aisles when I was a kid, I would be dancing and running and kind of carefree. … I bounce off the energy around me.”
The celebrated actor, 70, was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Gladiator II. He ultimately did not win during the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Kieran Culkin took home the award for his performance in A Real Pain.
Washington had some stiff competition in the category, with Anora’s Yura Borisov, A Complete Unknown’s Edward Norton, The Brutalist’s Guy Pearce and The Apprentice’s Jeremy Strong rounding out the list of nominees.
Prior to this year’s Golden Globes ceremony, Washington already had a lengthy history with the awards show. He is the most-nominated Black male actor of all time, with 11 total nods throughout his decades-long career.
Washington previously won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Glory in 1990 and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Hurricane in 2000. He racked up nine additional nominations in the latter category, including for Cry Freedom in 1988, Malcolm X in 1993, Training Day in 2002, American Gangster in 2008, Flight in 2013, Fences in 2017, Roman J. Israel, Esq. in 2018, The Tragedy of Macbeth in 2022 and Gladiator II in 2025.
Washington also received the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award — which recognizes outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment — during the 2016 Golden Globes.
Tom Hanks, his costar in Philadelphia, honored Washington at the time, describing him as “the actor of our generation” with a “legendary and noble” body of work.
“Great cinema lasts forever, and a great actor will forever astound us. Now, these clips will remind us that a single name can be a superlative synonymous with extraordinary,” Hanks said while introducing Washington. “A single name can define an artist who is a peer and equal of all of the greatest legends of our craft. If Washington doesn’t ring out loud enough, then let the first name carry all the weight. And that name is Denzel.”
At the time, Washington accepted the award with his wife, Pauletta Washington, and three of the couple’s children — son John David and daughters Katia and Olivia — on stage beside him. (The pair’s son Malcolm was not present.)
After receiving a standing ovation, Denzel joked, “You really do forget everything you’re supposed to do [up here],” adding that he was “speechless” over the honor.
Former Scientology executive and whistleblower Mike Rinder has died at age 69.
Rinder’s wife, Christie King Collbran, announced his passing on Sunday, January 5, after his battle with advanced esophageal cancer.
“Rest in peace, my sweet, beautiful husband,” King Collbran wrote via Instagram. “I speak for so many when I say the sadness and pain we feel mirror the depth of our unwavering love for you. Your courage, bravery, and integrity are unmatched and will forever inspire us. You have been the pillar of stability in our lives, filling our days with your strength, wisdom, love, laughter and devotion. The world will remember you. My best friend, my hero, my love, Michael John Rinder.”
“If you are reading this, I have shuffled off this mortal coil in accordance with the immutable law that there are only two certainties in life: death and taxes,” his statement read. “My only real regret is not having achieved what I said I wanted to — ending the abuses of Scientology, especially disconnection and seeing [my son] into adulthood.”
The message continued: “If you are in any way fighting to end those abuses please keep the flag flying — never give up. And please, if you are able in some way, help Christie and the boys to move forward into the next chapter of their lives.”
Rinder’s cause of death has not been revealed, but he revealed in June 2023 that he was diagnosed with cancer. Before his passing, Rinder was raised in the Church of Scientology until he renounced the organization in 2007. He took part in HBO’s 2015 Going Clear documentary, which revealed alleged abusive practices within the church.
The church, however, has denied allegations made by Rinder. “Mike Rinder is an inveterate liar who seeks to profit from his dishonesty,” read a September 2022 statement following the release of Rinder’s memoir, A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology. “He supports himself by orchestrating the harassment of his former Church and its leader through false police reports, incendiary propaganda and fraudulent media stories.”
After actress Leah Remini left Scientology in 2013, she and Rinder collaborated on A&E’s Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. The docuseries ran from 2016 to 2019, and the duo continued to speak out about the organization with their “Scientology: Fair Game” podcast.
Remini, 54, has yet to address Rinder’s death, but she spent the holidays with him and his family.
“Spreading a little holiday cheer in Florida with my @rindermike and his beautiful family,” she wrote via Instagram in December 2024. “I am so moved by the outpouring of love and care shown to Mike and his family.”
Remini urged her followers to send love to Rinder, adding, “As many of you know, Mike has been courageously battling cancer, and your messages of love truly lift his spirits. Please keep Mike, Christie, and their two boys in your prayers. Surround them with all the love and strength they so deserve.”
Nikki Glaser couldn’t resist shading some stars in her 2025 Golden Globes opening monologue.
“I am not here to roast you tonight, and how could I? You are all so famous, so talented, so powerful,” Glaser, 40, began after taking the stage on Sunday, January 5,. “I mean you could really do anything.”
While poking fun at some honorees at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel, she made more savage digs at celebrities who weren’t present.
“So, tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”
Glaser continued, “Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good. And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.”
She added, “Oh, I’m upset too. The afterparty’s not going to be good this year. But, we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak-off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”
Diddy, 55, was arrested for sex trafficking and more charges in September 2024. He pleaded not guilty and has denied all allegations. He was remanded to prison until his trial later this year despite appealing for bail four times.
During another monologue moment, Glaser called nominee Adrien Brody a “two-time Holocaust survivor” based on his roles in WWII-era films The Pianist and The Brutalist. (Brody, 51, won an Oscar for The Pianist and is garnering buzz for The Brutalist.
She also referenced any “future criminals” in the crowd, seemingly another reference to Diddy. “I really think this is going to be a very memorable night, and maybe not in the way that you think,” Glaser added. “I predict five years from now when you’re watching old clips of this on YouTube, you’ll see someone in one of the crowd shots and you’ll be like, ‘Oh, my God, that was before they caught that guy!’ We could be making history tonight and we don’t even know with who. He knows, you know, or she! It could be a woman. … It won’t be. It never is. Kind of like Best Director.”
On a positive note, Glaser marveled at double nominee Selena Gomez bringing her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, as her date. “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish,” the comedian added. “Man, lucky guy!”
It is Glaser’s first time emceeing the Globes, taking over the reins from fellow comedian Jo Koy.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front-row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage),” Glaser said in a statement shared in August 2024. “The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so).”
She added at the time, “It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars, who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes.”
Late last month, Glaser predicted that she was “gonna nail” her hosting responsibilities.
“Maybe I won’t nail it in some people’s eyes, but I will have nailed it in my eyes because I have set up a system leading up to it that I couldn’t possibly work harder on it,” the FBoy Island host told CBS Sunday Morningson December 29, 2024. “I thrive on anxiety. I like feeling like, ‘Oh, what’s gonna happen?’ I like that feeling. I kill it when I’m anxious.”
Glaser also hoped that none of her Globes jokes would be mean-spirited.
“I think my new challenge is, I wanna be known for being a nice celebrity,” Glaser added. “I just wanna be someone that people go, ‘Oh, she’s really great to work with. She was really nice to us,’ and not in an inauthentic way. … I wanna spread honesty.”
Last year’s ceremony went viral after Koy, 53, made an apparent dig at attendee Taylor Swift.
“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I swear,” he said during the January 2024 broadcast, referring to the 35-year-old pop star often being shown on the Jumbotron during boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football games.
Glaser, for her part, is a noted fan of Swift’s and even attended the singer’s Eras Tour more than 20 times. Ahead of Sunday’s ceremony, she told Varietythat she didn’t plan on mentioning Swift during the broadcast.
Kieran Culkin is at it again, reigniting his playful feud with Pedro Pascal for another awards season. Except, the actors are not going head-to-head this year.
“Is he here tonight? Oh he’s not? Sorry, Pedro, were you not nominated this year?” Culkin quipped while talking with Variety on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, January 5. “Next year. Maybe next year. When I won’t be.”
Pascal, for his part, posted a photo via Instagram Stories from a tropical location ahead of the awards ceremony.
Culkin did make it clear that he does find Pascal to be a “lovely man” during Sunday’s red carpet and noted that he wants to work with The Last of Us star in the future.
Original story continues below:
Kieran Culkin and Pedro Pascal have referenced their “feud” multiple times during awards season, but what’s really going on?
The drama began when Culkin, 41, called out Pascal, 48, during his Golden Globes speech earlier this month while accepting the trophy for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series — Drama for his role as Roman Roy in Succession.
“I was nominated for a Golden Globe, like, 20 years ago, and when that moment passed, I sort of remember thinking, ‘I’m never going to be back in this room again.’ Which was fine, whatever,” Culkin said on January 7. “But thanks to Succession, I’ve been in here a couple times. It’s nice, but I sort of accepted I was never going to be on this stage, so this is a nice moment. Suck it, Pedro. Sorry. Mine!”
Pascal was nominated in the same category for his performance as Joel Miller in The Last of Us. After Culkin made his joke, the camera panned to Pascal, who pretended to cry over the dig.
A little over a week later, the men came head-to-head a second time at the Emmy Awards on January 15. This time, Pascal had the upper hand when presenting Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. (Matthew Macfadyen took home the award for his role as Tom Wambsgans in Succession.)
“I’d like to just take a second and make this about me,” Pascal, whose right arm was in a sling, joked while taking the stage. “A lot of people have been asking about my arm. It’s actually my shoulder, and I think tonight is a perfect time to tell everyone that Kieran Culkin beat the s–t out of me.”
The crowd laughed as the camera panned to Culkin, who had a rather serious look on his face. Pascal also started to laugh while announcing the nominees, and Culkin eventually broke out into a smile.
After the Emmy Awards came to an end, however, Culkin and Pascal put any feud rumors to rest during the afterparties. The duo were photographed hanging out during HBO and Max’s reception. Pascal even included a selfie with Culkin in his January 16 photo roundup from the awards show.
While Culkin didn’t actually have a physical altercation with Pascal, there hasn’t been much information to go on when it comes to the nature of Pascal’s arm — ahem, shoulder — injury.
“I fell!” he told reporters on the Golden Globes red carpet. “Be careful. It can happen to anybody.”
Pascal and Culkin faced off once again at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards in February, where they were both nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. During the February 24 awards show, Pascal came out victorious and Culkin applauded his win.
“I’m gonna make out with Kieran, that’ll be my revenge. I did know him [before this awards circuit], he is the greatest,” Pascal said in his post-victory speech, talking about their history with host Tan France. “I can remember years and years ago, taking one of my siblings to FAO Schwarz … and he came up to me and complimented me on my work in this play.”
He continued, “It’s been amazing to see him in this show and I feel guilty about not seeing his speech tonight, but he’ll be fine. But, I got to give things a fair amount of balance.”
Pascal continued the lovefest in a series of post-SAG Awards interviews, even telling Access Hollywood that he voted for Culkin to win the trophy. “If anything I should thank the male members of that cast for creating the opportunity for me to up my numbers, I guess,” Pascal said. “I voted for Kieran!”
The actor was unprepared to accept the SAG Award, revealing he had been drinking because he didn’t think he’d have to give a speech. However, he told Access that the party wasn’t over after the show. Pascal referred to himself and Culkin as “besties” and said they planned to celebrate together at afterparties.
Some of Hollywood’s biggest names competed in the same category at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, but only one star could take home the prize.
Zoe Saldaña ultimately won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture during the Sunday, January 5, ceremony, which was held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. She immediately burst into tears after presenters Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho named her as the winner.
“My heart is full of gratitude. Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film and honoring the women of Emilia Pérez,” the actress, 46, said. “This is a first time for me and I’m just so blessed that I’m sharing this moment with Selena and Karla and our fellow nominees. I know that it is a competition but all that I have witnessed is just us showing up for each other and celebrating each other and it’s just so beautiful.”
She went on to thank her husband, Marco Perego, and their three children.
Saldaña beat out a high-profile group of actresses for the award, including her Emilia Pérez costar Selena Gomez, Wicked’s Ariana Grande, The Brutalist’s Felicity Jones, The Substance’s Margaret Qualley and Conclave’s Isabella Rossellini.
Gomez, 32, was the only person to be nominated in two categories, having also picked up a nod for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Only Murders in the Building this year. She was previously nominated for her role on the Hulu series in 2023 and 2024 too.
“I don’t even know what to write,” Gomez captioned an Instagram Story video of herself sitting in bed after the nominations were announced in December 2024. “I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I am so grateful and honored @goldenglobes.”
For Saldaña, 46, and Grande, 31, this marked the first time they received Golden Globes nods.
“After a while, I stopped hoping for that and thinking that there was going to be better,” Saldaña told Variety in December 2024. “We work really hard because we have an innate need to connect with other people. That’s why an artist makes art — they don’t need the art to hold in a closet or just for their own pleasure. They make it to connect and share it with so many people. And so when what you do lands, it gives you an instant connection, even if it’s just temporary.”
Grande, for her part, became emotional over her nomination.
“It is so surreal I don’t even know how to articulate it. I am so moved and grateful,” she told the outlet. “I have always respected this role and have always been aware of what it requires to play it. That’s why I’ve always adored and admired so many brilliant women who have played it before me. I know what it requires, and all I wanted to do was the work. From my first audition to my last day on set, I was so grateful for that privilege. When you’re focused on something for that long, and to see this kind of acknowledgement — it really is extraordinary.”
The remaining nominees in the category already landed nods in years past: Rossellini, 72, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television in Crime of the Century in 1997; Jones, 41, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama in The Theory of Everything in 2015; and Qualley, 30, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television in Maid in 2022.
The 28-year-old actress walked the red carpet solo on Sunday, January 5, ahead of the awards show at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. She stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton gown paired with Bulgari jewelry.
Zendaya is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role as former tennis star-turned-coach Tashi Duncan in Challengers. She is competing against Nightbitch’s Amy Adams, Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo, The Substance’s Demi Moore, Emilia Pérez’s Karla Sofía Gascón and Anora’s Mikey Madison in the category.
Prior to this year’s ceremony, Zendaya was already a Golden Globe winner, having secured a trophy in 2023 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for Euphoria.
Zendaya and Holland went public with their romance in July 2021. While the couple largely keep their personal lives out of the spotlight, a source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly in July that they are still going strong.
“These two are the real deal,” the insider told Us at the time. “They started as besties, and that’s [why] their relationship is rock solid.”
Holland and Zendaya’s “low-key” approach to their romance has endeared them to their inner circle, the source noted.
“Their families are all in” on their relationship, the insider added, explaining that their loved ones “think they’re perfect together.”
Although fans are fascinated by the pair’s dynamic, they have not let the outside attention impact their connection.
“They’re each other’s biggest supporters,” the source said. “They ‘get’ each other.”
Since they began dating, Holland and Zendaya have continued to share the screen. They previously starred in three Spider-Man films together between 2017 and 2021, and he teased in October that they are gearing up to portray Peter Parker and Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson again in the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man 4.
“Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room,” Holland said of the script on the “Rich Roll” podcast.
The duo are also set to star alongside Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon in director Christopher Nolan’s next film, Deadline reported in November. Though plot details have not been revealed yet, the movie is scheduled to be released in July 2026.
The actor, 57, stepped out for the event at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Speaking to Zuri Hallduring E! Live From the Red Carpet, the comedian said that he’s feeling incredible after recovering from his 2023 health scare.
“You know how you take a picture on your cell phone and you hit that first filter and it brightens up? That’s the way life looks now. Everything is altered,” Foxx said, noting that the cliché of living every day like it’s your last has more meaning for him now. “When it actually happens to you, you appreciate it more, I appreciate these moments more. My two daughters in the back kept me alive … I’m just blessed, man.”
Foxx noted that he “drew upon” comedy greats George Carlin and Richard Pryor for his Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was, which is nominated for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television at the awards show. Nikki Glaser, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong and Ramy Youssef also received nods in the category.
After the heavy subject matter of What Had Happened Was, Foxx noted that he wants to make something “funny funny” this year. “I had to do this first though,” he explained. “I had to let people know [what happened] in my way.”
Prior to Sunday’s ceremony, Foxx was already a Golden Globe winner, having secured a trophy in 2005 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his role as late musician Ray Charles in the biopic Ray. That same year, Foxx was also nominated for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture – Television for Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story and for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture for Collateral.
Foxx’s appearance at the 2025 Golden Globes comes nearly two years after he suffered a medical emergency that left him hospitalized in April 2023. In his December 2024 Netflix special, he revealed for the first time that he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
Foxx explained that he experienced a bad headache at the time and asked a friend for some medicine. “Before I could get the aspirin, I went out,” he said.
“I don’t remember 20 days. What they told me was that they took me to the first doctor and that first doctor gave me a cortisone shot and sent me home,” he continued. “What the f— is that? I don’t know if you can do Yelps for doctors, but that’s half a star, n—-.”
Foxx’s younger sister, Deidra Dixon, ultimately sought a second opinion at Atlanta’s Piedmont Hospital, where a doctor informed her of Foxx’s brain bleed and stroke and told her, “If I don’t go into his head right now, we’re gonna lose him.”
After operating on Foxx, the doctor told his sister, “He may be able to make a full recovery, but it’s gonna be the worst year of his life.” He woke up from a coma after 20 days and then went to Chicago for rehab.
Foxx divulged that his sister and his daughter Corinne, 30 — whom he shares with ex Connie Kline — kept him out of the spotlight amid his recovery. (Foxx is also the father of daughter Anelise, 16, with ex Kristin Grannis.)
“They held me the f— down. ‘Nobody sees him!’ They cut it all off,” he recalled. “They didn’t want you to see me like that and I didn’t want you to see me like that. There’s another reason, too, why my daughter didn’t want nobody to see me. I was dizzy from the stroke. I was so dizzy, so my head would [shake]. She said, ‘They gon’ meme the f— out of this motherf—er.’”
The actor, 29, and the reality star, 27, were spotted at the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The pair were seen smiling and laughing while host Nikki Glaser made a jab at Chalamet’s mustache.
Chalamet is nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown. He is competing against The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody, Queer’s Daniel Craig, Sing Sing’s Colman Domingo, Conclave’s Ralph Fiennes and The Apprentice’s Sebastian Stan in the category. (Brody took home the award.)
This marks Chalamet’s fourth Golden Globe nomination during his career. He previously received nods for Call Me by Your Name in 2018, Beautiful Boy in 2019 and Wonka in 2024.
Last January, Jenner was on hand to support Chalamet at the 2024 awards show. Although he walked the red carpet solo, she joined him inside the venue, where the couple — who were first linked in April 2023 — showed PDA.
The pair “couldn’t keep their hands off each other” during the ceremony, a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time.
“They only had eyes for each other, and it was clear they were totally into one another,” the insider added.
While Jenner — who shares daughter Stormi, 6, and son Aire, 2, with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott — opted not to accompany Chalamet on the red carpet, the two “barely left each other’s sides” once they met up inside.
“They shared a few kisses, and it was obvious they had amazing chemistry,” the source said, noting that the duo had their legs interlocked while chatting at their table. “They didn’t stop flirting the entire night.”
“Everything is going great between them. They both have really busy schedules but make as much time for each other as possible,” the second source shared in January 2024. “Timothée is always making Kylie smile. They have a very special connection.”
Throughout the past year, Chalamet and Jenner have rarely been seen in public together, but a third insider revealed in July 2024 that the couple prefers to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.
“Kylie and Timothée hang out with each other frequently and communicate on a regular basis,” the third insider told Us. “They’ve gone on a number of dates recently, but they always do their best to try and stay under the radar as much as possible.”
The actor, 44, and the model, 28, made a rare joint public appearance at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Gyllenhaal wore an unbuttoned white dress shirt with his tuxedo and sported a buzzcut. Cadieu also showcased a black-and-white tuxedo-inspired look on the red carpet.
Gyllenhaal is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role as prosecutor turned murder suspect Rusty Sabich in the Apple TV+ show Presumed Innocent. He is competing against Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s Donald Glover, Slow Horses’ Gary Oldman, The Day of the Jackal’s Eddie Redmayne, Shōgun’s Hiroyuki Sanada and Landman’s Billy Bob Thornton in the category.
Prior to the 2025 awards show, Gyllenhaal was previously nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Love & Other Drugs in 2011 and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Nightcrawler in 2015.
Still, Gyllenhaal revealed that his personal life had become a priority as of late.
“I think we all get into that space of work, work, work, and for a long time my career took precedence, but I’m at a point in my life where I realize that family really is the only thing that matters to me,” he explained.
Nearly three years earlier, Gyllenhaal pointed to his desire to settle down during an October 2021 appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
“All I want is to be a good husband and a father. … That really is all I want,” he said at the time. “And now that I have fulfilled a lot of things in my career that I feel comfortable with, I can safely say that. I don’t know if I could have said that before.”
Gyllenhaal also gushed over Cadieu, calling her “such a good person” who is not a fan of the spotlight.
“That’s part of the reason why I just adore her. … Not at all the main reason, but you know, one of them,” he raved. “I love her so much.”
Stone, 36, stunned at the Sunday, January 5, awards show in a strapless red gown with a matching belt at the waist while rocking her new hairstyle. She walked the red carpet with her husband, Dave McCary. (Stone and McCary, 39, tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed daughter Louise the following year.)
To create the look, Stone collaborated with longtime stylist and OLAPLEX Global Ambassador Tracey Cunningham, who described the current cut as “like Mia Farrow.” Cunningham added in a statement to Us Weekly, “She basically has no hair. It’s super short, and she’s going to have it cut again, so it’ll be even shorter.” Cunningham noted that the color was “auburn, a smidge darker than her usual color. I call it ‘Nutmeg.’”
Fans previously speculated that Stone may have had a hair transformation when she attended the 2024 New York Film Festival in October 2024. In a clip shared via X, Stone could be seen adjusting what appeared to be a wig on her head after hugging Kieran Culkin’s wife, Jazz Charton.
“I’m so intrigued by why Emma Stone is wearing a wig at NYFF,” one user wrote via X.
The rumors were fueled the following day when photos began circulating online of Stone wearing a tight beanie — without her previous long locks visible — while in New York City on the set of Yorgos Lanthimos’ new movie, Bugonia.
The film, which stars Stone and Jesse Plemons, is a remake of the 2003 movie Save the Green Planet! Per The Hollywood Reporter, Bugonia “tells the story of two conspiracy theory-obsessed protagonists who kidnap a CEO of a major pharmaceutical company, convinced that he is an alien out to destroy the planet.” Bugonia is set to hit theaters in November 2025.
Stone has previously collaborated with Lanthimos in 2018’s The Favourite, 2023’s Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness, which was released in June 2024. While promoting Kinds of Kindness, Stone made headlines when she playfully corrected Lanthimos when he told a reporter she went by “Emma.”
Stone previously revealed that her name was Emily upon birth — but she changed it to Emma when she started acting because there was another Emily Stone working for SAG-AFTRA. Stone chose the name as a nod to Emma Bunton.
“Growing up, I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what? Now I am,” Stone previously said during a 2018 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It wasn’t necessarily because of her but yes, in second grade, did I go up to the teacher on the first day and ask her to call me Emma? Yes, I did, and was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes, it was.”
Comedian Nikki Glaser has been open about her journey with sobriety since she stopped drinking alcohol in 2011.
“I drank every single night of my life and it was, like, the only thing I looked forward to in my life,” Glaser said in a December 2024 interview with CBS ahead of her first time hosting the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2025.
Glaser has also quit smoking both cigarettes and marijuana and is also in recovery for several eating disorders. “For me, drinking was the worst of all of them,” she continued. “And it’s been kind of whack-a-mole with all of those. But those have never caused me as much pain as drinking did. So, I’m glad that drinking is just not an option.”
The Someday You’ll Die comedian has been sober for over a decade. Keep scrolling to see some of Glaser’s most candid quotes about getting sober — and staying that way:
October 2019
Glaser quit drinking on December 9, 2011 — at least, that’s what she said while appearing on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast in 2019. During the interview, the comedian recounted waking up with one of the worst hangovers of her life after only drinking two beers the night prior.
“I was at a point in my life where it was like, this has got to stop, because my hangovers were getting so ridiculous and debilitating for a whole day. I would black out from like, two drinks,” she recalled.
“I woke up the next morning and I was just the sickest I’ve ever been,” she continued. “So I was like in the shower, in the fetal position, thinking, ‘This is how I should feel if I’m dying. I really don’t want to feel this bad unless I am on my way out. So, I’m not doing this anymore.’ And I read a book and I was done.”
Glaser credited her sobriety to Allen Carr’s book The Easy Way to Stop Drinking.
October 2021
Glaser opened up about her history with disordered eating and smoking marijuana on an episode of “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown” podcast.
“I quit drinking 10 years ago, then I was bulimic, then I had to quit doing bulimia because I was getting mouth acne that I just couldn’t stand,” she explained. “So then I started starving, exercising, exercising, bulimia, then smoking a ton of pot.”
Glaser noted then that she was thinking of putting down the pot for good as well. “Recently I just got to the point with pot where I was like, ‘It’s affecting my vocal cords, it smells, I’m burning holes in everything, it’s illegal in many places that I go to,’” she said. “I can’t be smoking weed all day long. … I’m committed to not doing it again and kind of putting it down in the same way I did with alcohol.”
May 2022
In an interview with the “Addiction Talk” podcast hosted by American Addiction Centers, Glaser observed that “no one wants to inconvenience everyone in their life” while talking about a therapist of hers who had a stutter. He told her other people would get frustrated while he was talking that he could not just “spit it out.”
“I really felt a lot of empathy from him and he said, ‘Why don’t you look at your illness as like The Exorcist? That girl that gets possessed by the devil? Why don’t you think of it like that? Like a little voice. That voice that says, don’t eat, you need to exercise. You’re not allowed to have this many calories. Acknowledge the voice, but it’s not you. Be separate from your thoughts,’” she explained, adding, “And that was the first step for me of a long journey. I mean, that was 20 years ago at the very beginning of my recovery. But that was actually the essence of, ‘It’s not my fault. I’m not a bad person. I am not a weak person. I’m not, I’m just doing my best.’”
Glaser went on to say that “what really freed me was that you’re not choosing this, no one would choose to be an addict.”
“I’m always doing my best, and sometimes that looks really messy,” she said. “But if I was able to be better, I would. I can’t. And I think once I forgave myself for the things that seemed under my control and I let go and I stopped trying to control things that truly were never my fault to begin with, I was able to be free of it.”
“I can dance now without it, I can have sex without it,” she said. “Like, I used to drink because I was nervous to be around people — I don’t need that anymore. I don’t have social anxiety in that way.”
She added that after giving up alcohol her “eating disorders cranked up,” but she noted it was “a better thing to be abusing at the time than alcohol.” She said, “Alcohol was like, I was going to get a DUI, which was going to financially destroy me and, potentially, physically destroy me or others.”
March 2023
“I was just at a point where I was drinking every night,” the comedian told Triad City Beat, adding that often young comedians “get paid in booze” when they’re just starting out.
“Then I started to see the hangovers. I quit because I had just gotten a pilot and it was my first big shot and you can’t make a show sleeping until 4 p.m. every day,” she said. “I saw all the comics that got the most work done weren’t drinking; the most successful ones didn’t drink. It wasn’t a fix-all for me, but I think it was the greatest decision I ever made for me.”
July 2024
Glaser further praised Carr’s book, The Easy Way to Stop Drinking, on an episode of the “Plan Bri Uncut” podcast.
“You’re brainwashed to think you need to drink to be fun or to have a good time,” Glaser explained. “That’s what you think, but it’s not true. He pretty much disproves it and by the end of it you’re like, ‘Oh, wait, I guess every reason I had to drink doesn’t really make sense anymore.’”
She added, “Your life definitely changes. You pick up other things, you know, but nothing as detrimental as drinking, at least for me, have I picked up yet.”
Strong, 46, stepped out on the red carpet ahead of the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The Succession star opted for a mint green velvet bucket hat and matching suit from Loro Piana.
In addition to the complimentary blazer and trousers, Strong wore a cozy white turtleneck. He completed the look with matching mint green sunglasses, a neutral wristwatch and black shoes.
Strong attended the Golden Globes alongside his wife, Emma Wall. The couple walked the red carpet and posed for photos together. Unlike Strong’s bold look, Hall kept it chic in a dainty white sleeveless floor-length gown.
Strong is up for one award tonight. He is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Roy Cohn in the film The Apprentice. After learning the news about his nomination, Strong had an emotional reaction.
“I was sort of prepared for the film to be overlooked, given the way it’s been going … So it is just indescribably meaningful to me that the Globes recognized the film on the grounds of its artistry and as a film,” Strong said in a December 2024 statement to the Associated Press. “I think this has been a real battle from the get-go to get it made, but even more so to get it seen. And to sort of convince the industry that it was worthy of being seen. It’s a human and archetypal story that could not possibly be more relevant or essential to the moment that we are living through.”
Strong continued: “I’m just happy because I think this means more people will see the movie, which has been the only goal. If you want to understand where America is in 2024, a lot of it points to Roy Cohn and his influence on Donald Trump.”
The Apprentice, which is directed by Ali Abbasi, also stars Sebastian Stan who plays a young Donald Trump who is mentored by Cohn. Stan, 42, is also up for Best Actor.
This is Strong’s third Golden Globe nomination. The actor was a first-time nominee in 2021 for Best Actor – Television Series Drama for his role of Kendall Roy in Succession. Strong ended up taking home the trophy that year beating out his costar Brian Cox, Squid Games’ Lee Jung-jae, Billy Porter and Omar Sy.
At last year’s ceremony, Strong was nominated for a second time but lost to his Succession costar Kieran Culkin. His former costar is nominated against him again this year for his performance in A Real Pain.
The actress, 49, was accompanied by her eldest daughter, Zahara, 19, at the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. “Z is here,” Jolie told Variety on the red carpet, noting that Zahara gave her metallic gown her stamp of approval. “She’s hiding over there ‘cause you’re live,” she joked about her daughter not joining her on camera.
Zahara complemented her mother’s sparkling look in a white dress featuring silver metallic embroidered detail. While Jolie wore her hair half-up, Zahara pulled hers back in a chic updo.
Two days before their Golden Globes outing, Zahara joined her mother at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards in Palm Springs, California. The two sported opposite colors at the event, with Jolie contrasting her daughter’s white gown in a black silk dress.
Zahara is one of six kids Jolie shares with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, including Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
At this year’s Golden Globes, Jolie is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in the biographical drama Maria. The Last Showgirl’s Pamela Anderson, Babygirl’s Nicole Kidman, The Room Next Door’s Tilda Swinton, I’m Still Here’s Fernanda Torres and Lee’s Kate Winslet are also up for the award.
Prior to the 2025 awards show, Jolie won three consecutive Golden Globes between 1998 and 2000 for her performances in George Wallace, Gia and Girl, Interrupted. She has received a total of nine nominations throughout her career.
Jolie’s family outing at the Golden Globes comes just days after news broke that she finalized her divorce from Pitt, 61. The exes split in September 2016 and were declared legally single in 2019 but did not sign off on a divorce settlement until Monday, December 30.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyer James Simon told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
A rep for Pitt declined to confirm or comment on the news.
As for the pair’s children, they have supported their mother throughout the lengthy legal battle.
“The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don’t matter. Their pain doesn’t count,” a source close to the matter told Us in December 2024. “They have wanted [Angelina] to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories.”
Despite the headline-making ordeal, the insider said that Jolie “doesn’t speak ill” of Pitt publicly or privately to their children, adding that she has been “trying hard to be light after a dark time.”
Grande, 31, and Erivo, 37, looked beyond fabulous at the 2025 Golden Globes, which took place on Sunday, January 5. Grande, for her part, stunned in a vintage Givenchy yellow gown featuring a delicate beaded neckline and an empire waist. She dressed up her look even more with white gloves and diamond jewelry from Swarovski. Grande, who is nominated for Best Supporting Female Actor for her role as Glinda in Wicked, also showed off her new hair color: a strawberry blonde hue a shade darker than her usual blonde locks.
Erivo — up for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy — looked timeless in a glittery Roberto Coin gown featuring silver florals and a plunging neckline. The pièce de résistance was the skirt of her dress, which had a structural rectangular shape that protruded from her hips. Underneath, the skirt plummeted into long pleats.
Erivo opened up to E! about her color switch-up, sharing, “The thing is, green is Elphaba’s favorite color but what she wears is black. So we’ve been playing around with it and bringing green in occasionally.”
Her makeup was just as exquisite, featuring smokey eyeshadow and long lashes. Erivo topped off her look with a fabulous nail design complete with different colored nails and silver jewels, which she said took five hours.
While the stars decided not to wear their Wicked character’s iconic colors, green and pink, they previously channeled Glinda and Elphaba’s wardrobe while hitting the red carpet during the movie’s press tour.
Perhaps Grande’s most talked-about look came at the London premiere in November. For the occasion, she donned a yellow Ralph Lauren gown reminiscent of her Broadway character’s costume that Glinda wore while singing “One Short Day.” Just as Glinda did on stage, Grace accessorized with round green-tinted sunglasses.
Erivo also looked fabulous at each Wicked premiere, with most ethereal look coming at the Mexico City premiere, where she wore a custom Thom Browne dress featuring hands on her shoulder in the iconic shape of the Wicked Witch of the West’s talons.
The Nobody Wants This star, 44, and the Parenthood alum, 49, walked the red carpet together on Sunday, January 5, before the event at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Bell wore a shimmery metallic gown for the big night, completing the look with rose gold earrings, cuff bracelet and two rings, all courtesy of Reza.
Shepard finished off his classic suit with a pair of casual Vans black-and-white checkerboard sneakers and black sunglasses.
Bell is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of agnostic sex and dating podcaster Joanne on the Netflix romantic comedy Nobody Wants This. The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri, Hacks’ Jean Smart, Agatha All Along’s Kathryn Hahn, Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson and Only Murders in the Building’s Selena Gomez are also competing in the category.
Bell was previously up for the same award in 2019 for her performance on The Good Place, but she ultimately lost to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Rachel Brosnahan.
As for her personal life, Bell has been married to Shepard since October 2013. The couple share daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 10.
After Bell and her Nobody Wants This costar Adam Brody made headlines for their impressive chemistry on the series, Shepard expressed his support for the duo.
“Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, ‘Whoa, that’s hot,’” Bell told eTalk in September 2024 of her onscreen PDA with Brody, 45. “My husband said the same thing. Like, watching the first episode he was like, ‘Oh, my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.’”
The following month, Shepard joked about Bell’s fictional connection with Brody.
“We watched that scene together, the kissing scene, which I’d argue is the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film,” he said at the New Yorker Festival in October 2024. “And my best friend, Aaron, from childhood, he goes, ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’ No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that.”
Shepard then quipped that his chemistry with Bell is “not as good as her and Brody.”
Bell, for her part, attempted to explain the approach behind her unique bond with Brody, who has been married to Leighton Meester since February 2014 and shares daughter Arlo, 9, and a 4-year-old son (whose name has not been revealed) with the actress, 38.
“I’m not trying to be reductive, but I think there’s a math to it,” Bell told eTalk. “You have two actors that know how to stare dopily into each other’s eyes, and you have to have the confidence to expand that and really sit the anticipatory value before the kiss — which I think is really important.”
She added: “Whether or not people want to see you end up with someone is a crapshoot, and we just kind of got lightning in a bottle.”
Moore, 62, stepped onto the red carpet on Sunday, January 5, with a full beat. For her first Golden Globes appearance since 2009, Moore donned glamorous makeup, featuring a brown shade blended into her crease. She added the perfect amount of sparkle to her beat with a golden shimmer swept across her eyelids. Her cheeks were defined with a soft contour and blush that complimented her lips.
Moore tied her goddess look together with her brunette hair parted to the side and styled in loose curls with a bounce at her ends.
Moore’s outfit was just as noteworthy as her glam, including an asymmetrical neckline that artistically folded on her bodice. She added the perfect amount of sparkle to her look with diamond jewelry.
On the red carpet, she opened up to E! about aging in the spotlight. “The beauty in this is that we all understand there has been the circumstances of women being marginalized at a certain age but for me the most captivating is the exploration of the violence and harshness we have against ourselves because that is within our power to shift,” she said. “How we hold ourselves is everything.” On the line ‘at 50 it stops’: Just because there’s a collective agreement doesn’t mean it’s the truth. We as women have bought into it but when we change how we view ourselves the world with follow.”
This year, Moore is presenting at the awards ceremony, which is held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Comedian Nikki Glaser is hosting the event. She is also nominated for Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance. (Other nominees in the category include Amy Adams, Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón, Mikey Madison and Zendaya.)
Although she hasn’t been to the Golden Globes since 2009, Moore stunned on the red carpet at the Golden Globes party during the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.
For the event, she looked fiery in a red leather dress featuring thin straps, a square neckline and a flowy skirt with a wrap dress. Moore matched her frock with scrappy heels and a cherry red pedicure.
In true Moore fashion, she wore her long hair down and straightened. She topped off her look with bedazzled hoops and soft makeup including blushed cheeks, filled-in eyebrows and nude lips.
Back in 2009, Moore sported a halter nude dress featuring a tiered skirt. The actress paired her gown with stacked bracelets and beachy waves.
“93,” Glaser, 40, told E! News on the red carpet ahead of the awards show of how many times she practiced her monologue. “[Tonight] will be my 94th time telling some version of this. I mean, it’s still changed even from the last time I told it until now, so we’re constantly making edits, trying to top jokes, trying to strike the right note and tone for the evening. But a lot of work has gone into it.”
While she’s practiced her set nearly 100 times, Glaser wants to be clear: there’s a lot of room for improv, and anything can happen at the 82nd Annual Golden Globes, which air on CBS on Sunday, January 5, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
“I don’t want people to think, ‘Oh she’s just reciting some monologue.’ I practice so much, so that when I get up there, I’m off-book and I can just be in it,” she said. “And then that’s when stuff’s gonna start coming out that wasn’t planned. And so now I know it so well that I can be myself up there.”
While this is her first time hosting the Globes, the comedian is no stranger to commanding an audience: Glaser went viral late last year for her performance on Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady, and she has been performing stand-up comedy for over two decades.
“I am feeling so ready,” she said on the red carpet. “I can’t wait to perform. The nerves aren’t there yet. I just got done with rehearsal, I feel so comfortable with it. I just am like, ‘God I can’t wait to tell this to a room full of people.’ It’s going to be so much fun.”
Included in that room of people are heartthrobs and 2025 nominees Timothée Chalamet and Glen Powell, who Glaser thinks might “set off something new in my head” when she sees them in the audience during the show.
“[Glen] is going to be in the back and he has to wear sunglasses so he can’t make eye contact with me because it will throw me, I need to stay dry,” Glaser joked about Powell, 36, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, for his performance in Hit Man. “These people don’t talk to me outside of a setting like this, so this is my time to talk to them, for them to look at me. Not that they think they’re better than me, it’s just that I don’t run into these people a lot, so I’m standing up there, and it’s blowing my mind that Angelina Jolie has to listen to me talk for nine minutes.”
Included in Glaser’s 93 practice rounds were nine performances in and around Los Angeles over just a few days leading up to the show.
“Not every host does that,” she told The Hollywood Reporter of her preparation on Thursday, January 2. “I’m lucky enough to be a comedian that can go and find these rehearsal spaces in front of a live audience and I trust my audience members to not leak jokes to tell anyone.”
She continued: “it’s been a really collaborative process. I go on stage and I just say, ‘Hey guys, do you mind if I run my set?’ and everyone’s so excited. They feel like they’re part of this interesting, secretive process because they are. And I just go, ‘If you laugh at a joke tonight, and then you hear that same joke Sunday night when you watch the Globes, you can literally be like, ‘I told her to do that joke,’ because you did!’”
