Eagle-eyed fans who looked beyond Zenday’s sparkling ring on Sunday, January 5, took to social media to speculate over what appeared to be a small tattoo on the left side of her torso. Some claimed that the tattoo was of the letter T, serving as an ode to Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland.
One X user posted on Sunday, “Finding out that Zendaya has a tiny “t” tattoo and an engagement ring was not on my golden globes bingo card … I’m so happy for my girl.” Other fans agreed that Zendaya, 28, did indeed seem to be branded with a lowercase T.
However, the mark also resembled an anchor, as noted by another X user who posted an anchor emoji and questioned the marking’s true meaning. “Isn’t it this tho,” the user wrote.
Us Weekly has reached out to Zendaya’s representative for comment regarding the engagement rumors.
The Challengers star, who met Holland while working on 2016’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, attended the awards ceremony on her own. She was nominated in the category of Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role as Tashi Duncan in Challengers, but lost out to Demi Moore who starred in The Substance.

Zendaya started the night wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown and Bulgari jewelry, but changed into a white halterneck dress once inside the ceremony. In a photo taken alongside The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri inside the event, the tattoo was no longer visible.
Zendaya and Holland kept their relationship a secret for several years, going public five years after they met when photos of the pair being affectionate in a car surfaced. After their relationship was confirmed, a source exclusively told Us at the time that the pair’s friendship played a pivotal role in taking their connection to the next level.
Zendaya and Holland have since shared sweet glimpses of their romance through the years. After being asked in February 2024 who from the Dune cast had the best “rizz,” Zendaya gave a sweet shout-out to Holland. “I don’t know. Rizz is short for charisma, right? Everybody’s kind of got their own,” Zendaya told Buzzfeed at the time. “I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not on the Dune cast, but personally works for me, is Mr. Tom Holland.”
As for the topic of tattoos, Zendaya stated in a 2020 interview with Allure that, “I love tattoos … but I don’t want any.”
For Holland’s part, the Marvel star is known to have a spider tattooed to his foot as a tribute to his ongoing role as Spiderman.
According to Craig, Weisz, 54, had a very good reason for opting out of the Sunday, January 5, event, sharing details into her no-show with Extra on the red carpet.
When asked by Extra’s Adam Glassman whether or not Weisz was, “with you tonight,” Craig, 56, replied, “She’s not, no, she’s getting our little one back in school.” Craig and Weisz, who got married in 2011, share a daughter, Grace, 6.
Craig, who was nominated in the category of Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture but lost out to Adrien Brody for his work in The Brutalist, and Weisz are notoriously private when it comes to family life. (Craig is also father to daughter Ella, 32, whom he shares with ex-wife Fiona Loudon, and stepdad to Weisz’s son, Henry, whom she shares with ex Darren Aronofsky.)
In a rare comment in April 2023, Weisz shed light into the couple’s home life, telling Stephen Colbert during the April 20 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, that, “Daniel and our daughter have been watching Star Wars.”
The Constant Gardener star added, “It was like a father-daughter, kind of, bonding experience, and they started on the original ones.” Weisz then revealed that the youngster “got obsessed” and began asking her mother to Google things like, “What does Darth Vader look like under his mask?”
“She wants to know everything,” Weisz explained. “She’s obsessed with the mythology and these characters are so real for her.”
Weisz added that her daughter had also watched Craig’s brief cameo in 2015’s The Force Awakens which involved Craig depicting a stormtrooper whom Daisy Ridley’s Rey performs a Jedi mind trick upon.
As for Craig, the actor shared insight of his own in November 2024, telling The New York Times he chooses acting projects that allow him to be at home as much as possible. “I’ve got a six-year-old at home,” Craig told the outlet. “And I don’t want to be away from home as much as I have been in the past.”
Craig’s candid comments coincided with the release of his interview on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast, recorded mid-November 2024, which delved into Craig’s thoughts on his sophomore James Bond film Quantum of Solace.
Despite taking pride in the film’s “amazing stunt sequences,” Craig said he felt the movie “didn’t quite work” as a whole. “The storytelling wasn’t there,” he said at the time. “And that’s the abject lesson: going to start a movie without a script, it’s just not a good idea.”
Nikki Glaser might have had a nip slip, but any Swiftie can agree that it was worth it.
Glaser, 40, took to Instagram on Sunday, January 5, to share her getting-ready process ahead of hosting the 2025 Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In the clip, the comedian hilariously thrashed around while dramatically dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?” from her Tortured Poets Department album. Glaser leaned forward during the video, and accidentally let her chest fall out of the top of her shimmery nude Prabal Gurung gown.
To conceal her wardrobe malfunction, Glaser blacked out her exposed nipple with “Oops” written over the screen.
The rest of Glaser’s glamorous look featured a fitted bodice and a column skirt with a Watteau train.
Glaser elevated her look with diamond earrings and a full beat, including brown eyeshadow, blushed and bronzed cheeks and nude lips. Her blonde hair was parted down the middle and styled in beachy waves.

During her monologue, Glaser had the audience in stitches with her racy jokes about Glen Powell and a diss to Timothée Chalamet, quipping his mustache looked like eyelashes. She also poked fun at Benny Blanco, joking that a genie granted his wish for a romance with Selena Gomez, as the couple announced their engagement last month.
Going into the awards show, FX’s The Bear and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building had the most TV nominations with five and four, respectively. Netflix’s musical-thriller Emilia Pérez topped the movies nominations with 10 total. The Brutalist followed with seven nods.
While seeing who won is the purpose of the event, fans were, as usual, treated to electric and heartwarming speeches (Us is looking at you, Demi Moore) and hilarious, meme-worthy skits from presenters including Catherine O’Hara and Seth Rogen.

Zendaya and Ariana Grande were just two of the standout style stars at this year’s Golden Globes. Zendaya, who was nominated for The Challengers, wore a dramatic custom Louis Vuitton gown with matching pumps.
Grande, meanwhile, paid homage to her Wicked character, Glinda, with her pale-yellow Hubert de Givenchy gown from 1966. “It’s yellow because of the yellow brick road,” the actress told Variety while walking the red carpet. “And it’s one of Glinda’s favorite colors.”
Nikki Glaser Knocks It Out of the Park — And No One Is Safe

Glaser, 40, brought the laughs and gasps during her opening monologue, calling the awards show “Ozempic’s biggest night.” While she promised not to “roast” the A-listers in attendance she couldn’t help but troll a few.
After praising Chalamet, 29, for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown she poked fun at his facial hair, saying, “You have the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip.”
The comedian applauded Powell, 36, for being “in everything” in 2024 including “my head when I’m having sex with my boyfriend.” Glaser teased, “Thank you for the assist.”
Glaser didn’t avoid more controversial fare either, throwing a Sean “Diddy” Combs joke in for good measure.
“Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” she said. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.” (Diddy, 55, was arrested in September 2024 for sex trafficking and more charges but has pleaded not guilty. He is awaiting trial later this year.)

“I’m feeling a little …” Culkin, 42, said while shaking his hand to make a woozy-type gesture during his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture. “My wife and I did this shot of tequila with Mario Lopez.”
He confessed, “Definitely feeling that. Little speech is gone. Rip it, Kiernan. You’re doing fine!”
The A Real Pain actor then took a jab at the traditional playoff music, telling the crowd, “A couple of quick thank yous then I’ll piss off.” He proceeded to thank his “gorgeous wife” Jazz Charton, his manager and his mom before exiting the stage.
The star also turned heads for his temporary tattoos on his forearm and wrist full of friendship bracelets, which fans suspected could be courtesy of his kids.
Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Top the Hottest Couples’ List

Low-key couple Chalamet and Jenner, 27, made a rare appearance at the Los Angeles awards show. Although they didn’t walk the red carpet together, the pair were spotted looking cozy inside the venue alongside Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown castmates.
Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco also turned heads during the show after Glaser gave them a shout-out in her monologue. “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy,” Glaser teased as Gomez, 32, let out a laugh.
Two of Hollywood’s favorite married couples, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons and Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, also had Us talking after they stepped out on the red carpet in sizzling style.
Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara Represent for Canada

The Canadian actors brought the laughs while presenting the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor, Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television. (Jodie Foster won for True Detective: Night Country.)
O’Hara, 70, kicked things off, saying, “What an honor it is to be here, at one of America’s most prestigious award shows. And while I’m grateful to have won a Golden Globe.” Rogen, 42, chimed in, “And I’m grateful to have been in a thing that has won a golden globe, we’re actually both much more acclaimed for our Canadian work.”
The two proceeded to joke about their stereotypically Canadian roles that no one has heard of, including O’Hara’s “golden antler” award for “her work as mama Morissette in The Alanis Morissette Story,” according to Rogen.
“What about you and your brave golden antler win?” O’Hara asked Rogen. “Your return as young Ryan in Gosling, the unauthorized Ryan Gosling biopic.”
Rogen teased, “It was unauthorized” but it “felt very important to depict.” The actors, who were both born in Canada, continued to joke about O’Hara’s fictional “Otter’s Tale” movie and Rogen’s “Moose Knuckles Trilogy” before leaving the stage.
“I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this a long time, like, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor,” she began. “And I am just so humbled and so grateful.”
Moore recalled a producer telling her decades ago that she was a “popcorn actress” which led her to believe that winning awards was “not something I was allowed to have.”
“That I could do movies that were successful and made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that,” she revealed. “That corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I had done what I was supposed to do. And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absently bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance.”
Moore took the script as a sign from the “universe” telling her, “You are not done.” She gushed about the project and the film’s team who championed her every step of the way.
“I will just leave you with one thing that I think this movie is imparting. In those moments when we don’t think we are smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough,” she added. “I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’”
Moore concluded: “So today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me, and the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much.”
Audrey Plaza Skips Show After Heartbreaking Loss

Plaza, 40, was initially slated to present during the awards show. She ultimately chose not to attend — and didn’t present as scheduled — after a sudden death in her family.
The actress’ husband, Jeff Baena, was found dead on Friday, January 3, at their Los Angeles home. Us later confirmed the screenwriter died by suicide. He was 47.
Although Plaza wasn’t on hand to participate in the event, she was honored by The Brutalist writer and director, Brady Corbet, during his acceptance speech for Best Director, Motion Picture. “My heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family,” he said to conclude his speech.
Surprising TV Show Shut-Outs

Fans were stunned when beloved series Only Murders in the Building was shut out completely during the awards show after being nominated for four categories. Nobody Wants This was also left without any wins following their three nods, while Abbott Elementary lost both of its two categories.
Vin Diesel Raises Eyebrows Over ‘The Rock’ Shout-Out

Diesel, 57, caused a stir when he took the stage to present the trophy for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The Fast and the Furious star paused to greet his frenemy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — who he has feuded with on and off since 2016 — during an awkward moment. “Hey, Dwayne,” Diesel said as the camera panned to Johnson, who just smiled and laughed from the audience.
‘Emilia Perez’ and ‘The Brutalist’ Win Big

Netflix’s Emilia Pérez, which stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón and Gomez, came out on top in four film categories. The movie won the biggest award of the night, Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, capping off the show. Earlier in the broadcast, Saldaña took home the trophy for Best Supporting Female Actor, Film. The film also nabbed the awards for Best Original Song, Motion Picture and Best Picture, Non-English Language.
The Brutalist also had a great night with three big wins: Best Motion Picture, Drama, Best Performance by a Male Actor (Adrien Brody) in a Motion Picture, Drama, Best Director, Motion Picture.
Shōgun had the most TV wins, taking home four trophies for Best Male Supporting Actor, Television, Best Performance by a Female Actor (Anna Sawai) in a Television Series, Drama, Best Performance by a Male Actor (Hiroyuki Sanada) in a Television Series, Drama and Best Television Series, Drama.
The actor, 77, accepted the award ahead of the live show during the Golden Globes‘ Golden Gala on Friday, January 3, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The accolade was presented by his wife, Mary Steenburgen.
“To him, all of you at the Golden Globes should know, receiving the Carol Burnett Award is like being allowed into creativity heaven,” the actress, 71, said of Danson while introducing him per The Hollywood Reporter. “Because whether it’s The Good Place, or Man on the Inside, Fargo, Damages, Board to Death, Becker, Cheers or the extraordinary podcast he does with Woody Harrelson, he, like Carol Burnett, has always known that it’s a precious honor to take people on a journey through television.”
In Danson’s speech, he joked that while he normally has a “confusing relationship” when it comes to receiving awards but he felt the complete opposite with this specific accolade.
“If I win, I feel a little embarrassed and lonely. If I don’t win, I feel a little embarrassed and lonely. But not tonight. Not tonight,” he explained. “I am so thrilled to get this award, Carol. I cannot tell you how much it means to me. You have brought so much joy and happiness into households all over the world. You radiate kindness. I love you so much.”
Burnett, for her part, shouted “I love you,” to Danson from the audience.
The Carol Burnett Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen. The honoree is selected based on their body of work and the enduring impact of their television career achievements on the industry and viewers.
Since the award’s 2019 creation, Danson is the fifth recipient, following in the footsteps of Burnett, 91, Ellen DeGeneres, Norman Lear and Ryan Murphy.
The Golden Globes named Danson as this year’s honoree in December 2024.
“Ted Danson has entertained audiences for decades with his performances that will forever be ingrained in television history,” Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, said in a statement at the time. “His career is a testament to his remarkable talent and versatility as an actor and bears resemblance to the award’s namesake. It is an honor to present him with the 2025 Carol Burnett Award to celebrate the tremendous impact he has made and continues to make in television.”
Danson is a three-time Golden Globe winner, having previously secured trophies for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for Something About Amelia in 1985 and for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Cheers in 1990 and 1991. Throughout his career, he has racked up 13 nominations, including for his work on Becker and Damages.
This year, Danson earned another nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for his role as Charles, a widower who goes undercover at a retirement community while assisting a private detective on a case, on the Netflix series A Man on the Inside.
In November 2024, Danson opened up about exploring themes of aging on the show.
“For us people, my age and older, you still have something to contribute hugely,” he told People at the time. “So get out there and keep going, and the way you engage life right up until the end is an inspiration to those younger people behind [you] that are coming up and your children. Because a lot of times people think there’s a shelf life to creativity and contributing to life. There isn’t. That’s self-imposed.”
The Golden Globes is one of the few awards shows that serves food and drink to the star-studded audience during the broadcast, meaning celebrities occasionally imbibe a bit too much on the big night.
In 2014, Cate Blanchett won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, for her role in Blue Jasmine. “Well that crept up. I have a few vodkas under my belt and now here we are,” she said as she reached the podium.
A couple of weeks later, she told The Telegraphthat she’d had a few too many by the end of the show. “Unfortunately my category came up rather late in the evening so I was a couple of sheets to the wind,” the Australia native told the U.K. outlet. “Once your name is read out it’s a high like no other so I can’t remember a lot. I hope I didn’t do too many things I’ll regret.”
It’s not just the winners who have to keep it together, though. Chrissy Teigencouldn’t control her emotions when her husband, John Legend, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song at the 2015 Golden Globes and became an iconic meme.
“Sorry I don’t practice my cry face okay,” she tweeted later that night after the cameras caught her painful-looking cry face. “It’s been 5 minutes and I’m a meme.”
In February 2021, Teigen, who has since gone sober, admitted that she’d been over-served. “Happy anniversary to this drunk dumbass lmao,” she captioned an Instagram photo of the viral moment.
When the actress got up to accept her Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama award for her work on The Crown, she was genuinely surprised by the win. “Thank you so much. I said I had money on this, not happening,” she said in her acceptance speech. “For the last year, I feel like I’ve lived someone else’s life and now I feel like I’ve definitely won someone else’s award. I’ve had the loveliest time doing this, and to all my fellow nominees who are all just marvelous.”
In 2014, the Australian actress ascended the Golden Globes stage to claim the Best Actress in a Motion Picture prize for Blue Jasmine, and she began her acceptance speech by telling the audience she was a bit buzzed. “I have a few vodkas under my belt and here we are,” she declared, before being played off the stage. “Can people at home hear this music?” she asked as the audience laughed. “Or do they suddenly think that you’re just getting very fast because you’re having a panic attack? Which I’m probably having.”
Also in 2014, the Bridget Jones's Baby actress took to the stage with her shoes in one hand and a martini in the other to present the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay. When it came time to announce the winner, Thompson tossed her shoes aside (literally!) and handed her partially finished drink to that year’s Miss Golden Globe, actress Sosie Bacon.
The beloved comedy duo cohosted the ceremony in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and at one point during their first hosting gig, they walked onto the stage with drinks in hand after both losing that year’s Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy trophy to Girls star Lena Dunham. “The show is really taken a turn,” Poehler said after her loss, as Fey lamented it was “time to start drinking.” Poehler added: “Everybody’s getting a little loose now that we’re all losers.”
As part of the same bit, Poehler and Fey then went on to mention how “sloppy” the room was getting, and brought in another actress to join in on the fun. “Look how drunk Glenn Close is,” Fey remarked as the camera panned to the wiggling and “drunk” Damages star. Though seemingly not under the influence of alcohol, Close playfully went along with the bit so well that Fey later joked she “might need a medic.”
The Bridesmaids trio were on stage in 2012 to discuss their movie and its nomination for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The women, who were holding cocktails, taught the audience the drinking game they played on set, which involved imbibing each time someone says “Scorsese.” McCarthy, who took several swigs on stage, told the crowd, “You’d be surprised at how much that comes up in casual conversation.”
The British comedian has hosted the Globes four times – in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016 – so he’s fully aware of how difficult and nerve-wracking the process can be. Perhaps that’s why the Derek star kicked things off in 2016 by drinking a beer on stage during his opening monologue. “I’m going to do this monologue, and then go into hiding,” he told the audience as he took a sip of his drink. “Not even Sean Penn will find me.”
When the Jerry Maguire star was MIA in 2001 after it was announced she’d won the Best Actress award for her performance in Nurse Betty, presenter Hugh Grant joked the actress may have had a few too many. “Where is she?” the Brit asked from the stage. “Is she under the table? Renee is drunk, ladies and gentlemen.”
In January 2023, the White Lotus creator admitted he had thrown back one too many before accepting the award for Best Limited or Anthology Series or Television Film.
“I was going to give this speech in Italian, but I’m too drunk,” White quipped while on stage. “There was no food! When got there, the food was over. They were like, ‘You can drink.’”
The alcohol allowed the Survivor alum to get candid during his big moment — and he even called out members of the audience for “passing” on his anthology series before it eventually got picked up by HBO.
After ten years of marriage, Chapman filed for divorce from Weinstein in October 2017 after he was accused of sexual assault by hundreds of women. (Chapman and Weinstein share daughter India and son Dashiell together. Weinstein also shares daughters Lily, Emma and Ruth with ex-wife Eve Chilton, whom he divorced in 2004 after 17 years of marriage.)
Two years later, Chapman was spotted with Brody were seen getting cozy while having a candlelit dinner with friends in Puerto Rico, which they both attended for the launch of model Helena Christensen’s swimwear line. The duo went public with their romance two years later.
In December 2023, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the couple were still going strong.
“Adrien is the most supportive partner to Georgina,” the insider shared. “He’s never judged her for past relationships and is always empathetic and caring. He’s such a positive light.”

“I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him no matter whether he won or lost,” Garfield said days later while on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “It doesn’t matter, it’s how you play the game. He showed up, he gave his all. It doesn’t change anything in my heart.”
In December 2021, Garfield reflected on the surprise smooch. “It was a really fun moment. I said to him, ‘If you win, kiss me instead of Blake [Lively], your wife, because Blake was on the other side.’ He was like, ‘Amazing, let’s do it,'” Garfield recalled during Wired’s auto-complete interview video series.
Not every joke is memorable for the laughter, however. Seth Rogen made audiences cringe when he presented an award alongside Kate Beckinsale in 2011 and said, “Hello, I’m Seth Rogen, and I am currently trying to conceal a massive erection.” Beckinsale chuckled uncomfortably. “How nice,” she replied.

When the Golden Globes first started in 1944, the trophies were presented exclusively by journalists. Then, in 1958, during the first-ever telecast of the awards, Rat Packers Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis Jr. stormed the stage -- whiskeys in hand -- and hijacked the show. Much to the delight of their fellow attendees, the trio were invited back for a repeat performance in 1959.
Oliver Stone’s 1979 best screenplay acceptance speech for Midnight Express turned into a rant about the United States’ drug policy. Though host Chevy Chase requested for Stone to “just say ‘thank you’ and leave the stage” and the audience began to boo him, he continued to make his point. Security guards ultimately escorted him off the stage.
After her double win at the 1980 Golden Globes -- for Best Actress in The Rose and Best New Female Star -- Bette Midler drew the audience's attention to two other trophies: her breasts! "I'm reminded of when Joan Crawford actually won her Golden Globe and she said...'I'll show you a pair of Golden Globes,'" Midler joked, pretending to grope herself. Covering her face in embarrassment after, she said, "Excuse me, I'm sorry. I'm different now. I'm a good girl!"
Accepting the Best Supporting Actor award for 12 Monkeys in 1996, Brad Pitt started off his speech not by thanking his director, co-stars, or then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow but by acknowledging "the makers of Kaopectate," a medication that treats indigestion and diarrhea. "I have a nervous stomach, and it works," the A-lister explained later. "I'll be expecting those calls from Kaopectate any minute now."
Chicago Hope star Christine Lahti almost missed her big moment in the spotlight when Michael J. Fox announced her as the 1998 winner of Best Actress in a TV Drama -- while she was in the bathroom! Running onstage to accept the award, she confessed she had been flushing the toilet when her name was called. The next year, when she presented at the show, Lahti stuck a piece of toilet paper to her shoe as a joke.
During his tearful acceptance speech for Don King: Only in America in 1998, Best Actor winner Ving Rhames surprised the crowd by giving away his trophy to fellow nominee Jack Lemmon. "I feel that being an artist is about giving," Rhames said as he handed the award to the 12 Angry Men star, "and I'd like to give this to you, Mr. Jack Lemmon." Lemmon accepted, saying, "That is one of the nicest, sweetest moments I've ever known in my life."
When Jack Nicholson accepted the Golden Globe in 2003 for best actor in a drama for About Schmidt, he admitted that he “took a Valium” earlier that evening. The medication helps with treating anxiety, muscle spasms and seizures.
When Richard Gere won the Golden Globe in 2003 for his role in Chicago, he initially couldn’t get through his speech without Sharon Stone repeatedly interrupting him.
Jamie Foxx's 2005 acceptance speech for Ray is widely considered one of the most heartfelt speeches in Golden Globes history. "I wish I could take what I'm feeling right now and put it in the water systems...we would all love each other a whole lot more," he began. Later, he fought back tears as he paid tribute to his late grandmother Estelle Talley. "I used to think it was corny when people would say that people were looking down on you," he said. "I didn't believe it. But I got a feeling."
House actor Hugh Laurie deserves an award just for his creativity during his 2006 acceptance speech for Best Actor in a TV Series. Realizing he had too many people to thank -- 172! -- and too little time in which to do it, the star wrote down all 172 names on little pieces of paper and drew three at random to acknowledge on stage. The lucky few? His script supervisor, hairstylist, and agent.
Staying true to his trademark no-holds-barred-style of comedy, Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen had the audience doubled over with laughter as he described "the dark side of America" -- a.k.a. the private parts of his co-star Ken Davitian, with whom he filmed an infamous nude wrestling scene. The actor also memorably alluded to the many lawsuits that had been leveled against him after the film by thanking "every American who has not sued me so far."
Former Grey's Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington stunned both his cast mates and reporters in the 2007 Golden Globes press room when he used a slur while discussing an alleged incident between himself and fellow Grey's star T.R. Knight, who came out as gay in 2006. "I did not call T.R. a f----t," he said. "Never happened." Responding to Washington's statement, Knight's pal Katherine Heigl said angrily: "I'm going to be really honest right now. [Isaiah] needs to just not speak in public. Period."
During his three-year reign as the host of the Golden Globes, British star Ricky Gervais managed to insult or offend nearly everyone in Hollywood. Nothing was off-limits -- he took aim at Mel Gibson's alcoholism, Charlie Sheen's meltdown, Robert Downey Jr.'s rehab stays, and even Salma Hayek's accent. Addressing the comic's acerbic remarks onstage in 2011, Downey Jr. said sarcastically: "Aside from the fact that it's been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I'd say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far."
Taking the stage to present the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture in 2012, Knocked Up star Seth Rogen couldn't contain his excitement. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted the Globes in 2013, 2014 and 2015, repeatedly roasted George Clooney during their tenure. In their final year as hosts, Fey quipped, "George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria and was selected to a three-person U.N. commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award." One year earlier, she mocked his tendency to date younger women, joking, "Gravity is nominated for best film. It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."
Dame Emma Thompson kept it real when she arrived onstage at the 2014 Golden Globes to present the award for best screenplay. She carried her Louboutins in one hand and a martini glass in the other. “I just want you to know, this red, it’s my blood,” she said to the audience, looking at the red bottom of her designer heels.
While presenting with Jennifer Lopez at the 2015 ceremony, Jeremy Renner remarked on her cleavage in her glam Zuhair Murad gown. After he asked her to open the envelope, she noted that she had the nails for it, to which he replied, "You've got the globes, too." Lopez laughed it off, but people watching from home were not as amused, with some saying the comment was inappropriate. He later responded to the backlash on Twitter, writing, "A reminder not to take this s--t so serious. Thanks Jennifer -- You're a gem.x #goldenglobes #hadtosayit #jlo"
Leonardo DiCaprio’s reaction when Lady Gaga bumped into him during the 2016 ceremony immediately went viral. "That's trending, huh?" he later told Entertainment Tonight. "I just didn't know what was passing me. I was like, 'Oh!'"
Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield decided to kiss as Ryan Gosling walked to the stage to accept an award during the 2017 ceremony. Reynolds would later joke that wife Blake Lively — who laughed during their intimate moment — was a better kisser than the Hacksaw Ridge actor.
After grimacing throughout host Ricky Gervais’ no-holds-barred opening monologue, Tom Hanks charmed the 2020 Golden Globes audience with his emotional Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech. “[I’m] a man [who] is blessed. … Blessed with a family sitting down front like that,” he said, tearing up. “A wife, [Rita Wilson], who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is. Five kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is, and a loving group of people who have put up with me being away months and months at a time.”
Jason Sudeikis was in awe of Norman Lear as the legendary TV writer noted that he was “close to 99” while accepting the Carol Burnett Award in 2021. “He’s 99? Wow,” the Ted Lasso star mouthed on camera during the virtual ceremony.
Glaser made jabs at several stars during her opening monologue at the 2025 Golden Globes. “So, tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”
Glaser also made a comment about Diddy, who was arrested for sex trafficking and more charges in September 2024. (He pleaded not guilty and has denied all allegations.)
“Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” Glaser said. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.”
She continued, “Oh, I’m upset too. The afterparty’s not going to be good this year. But, we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak-off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

Before the year’s biggest movies and TV shows were honored at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, Viola Davis was honored with the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award.
The actress, 59, received the honor on at the Golden Gala: A Celebration of Excellence at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday, January 3. The Cecil B. DeMille Award is named after the late director and recognizes outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. Since its creation in 1952, the accolade has been given to 69 honorees, making Davis the 70th recipient.
“I was born into a life that just simply did not make sense. I didn’t fit in. … I just wanted to be somebody. I wanted some of those little gold nuggets,” Davis remarked while accepting the award, per Variety. “What I had was magic. I was curious. I could teleport — I could take myself out of this worthless world and relieve myself of it at times.”
Davis went on to state that her “curiosity” led her to start her acting journey. “I had enough curiosity to know that not only could I perform magic and inhabit these people, but I knew what they could give me,” she explained. “What could I find in all these lives that could somehow rain down those gold nuggets from Gordo and give to me and to make my life make sense.”
Davis ended her speech on a heartfelt note, stating that her younger self would be “squealing” at her accomplishments. “She’s standing behind me now, she’s pulling on my dress. She’s wearing the same red rubber boots that she wore rain or shine because they made her feel purdy,” she told attendees. “She’s squealing. She’s saying one thing. She says ‘Make them hear this.’ What she’s whispering is: I told you I was a magician.”
Davis sported a silky pink V-neck dress at the Golden Gala, which she followed up with a dramatic black gown with multi-colored sparkles on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, January 5, at the Beverly Hilton. She posed for pics alongside her husband, Julius Tennon, who donned a classic black tux and white dress shirt. She took to the stage during the ceremony to present I’m Still Here‘s Fernanda Torreswith the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.

The Golden Globes announced Davis as the 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award honoree in November 2024.
“Viola Davis is a luminary whose profound talent has continuously shifted the lens through which we see and understand film,” Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, said in a statement at the time. “Presenting her with the 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award is not only an honor but a reflection of our admiration for her relentless dedication to her craft and her monumental impact on the industry. Viola’s courage in portraying complex, powerful characters has broken barriers and paved new paths, making her an emblem of excellence and an ideal recipient of this prestigious award.”
Davis reacted to the news via Instagram at the time, writing, “Thrilled! Overwhelmed! Honored! Thank you @GoldenGlobes. .”
Throughout her career, Davis has been nominated for seven Golden Globes, winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Fences in 2017. Her remaining nods were for her work in Doubt, The Help, How to Get Away With Murder, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and The Woman King.

Davis is also an EGOT winner, having earned an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and two Tony Awards. In January 2023, she opened up about her passion for her craft while explaining what the EGOT honor meant to her.
“I think that everybody wants their life to mean something,” she told Grammy.com. “I believe in the Cherokee birth blessing, which is, ‘May you live long enough to know why you were born.’ I do believe that you literally wanna blow a hole through this world in whatever way you can.”
She added: “A lot of people don’t know how to do that. A lot of people haven’t found that thing that they’re passionate about, that they can do. Some have. But we all are looking for that, blowing a hole through this earth before we leave it. I think about that in my work a lot. I really found that thing that I love to do. So I always wanna make it meaningful.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Tyra Sanchez has been criticized for making a joke about the death of James Lee Williams, better known as The Vivienne.
The backlash was sparked when Tyra, formerly known as King Tyra and whose birth name was James Ross, took to X on Sunday, January 5, to respond to a 2020 tweet from The Vivienne that discussed Tyra, 36. Tyra’s joke was posted the same day that The Vivienne’s death was confirmed by their manager, Simon Jones, via Instagram.
The Vivienne’s 2020 tweet read, “Bet Tyra was fuming when she Realised Netflix Spoiled the win Too. Sorry gal. You Tried though,” to which Tyra replied on Sunday with, “Yet it doesn’t compare to the fumes of the crematorium.”
Fellow drag queen Kandy Muse, whose real name is Kevin Gabriel Candalario, responded to Tyra’s post, “I’ve defended you for years but now you can absolutely go f— yourself and if our path were to ever cross it’s absolutely on sight bitch, it’s not a threat it’s a promise. you disgusting person.”
Another X user commented, “You are disgusting … Shame on you,” and another wrote, “this was very twisted. As someone who used to admire you, this is so coldhearted and disappointing.”
The widespread criticism did nothing to dampen Tyra’s stance, however, as Tyra posted later that evening, “She’s dead. Rotting. Sending me all the hate in the world won’t bring her back. But you do as you must. Because of you the tweet has reached over 25k individuals. Thanks for the much needed attention that I oh so desperately needed.”

The Vivienne’s death shocked fans of the show who had followed the drag queen’s career path closely after they won the inaugural Drag Race UK series in 2019. Jones’ Instagram announcement on Sunday read, “It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams — The Vivienne, has passed this weekend. James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person. Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle.” The Vivienne was 32.
In a follow-up statement regarding The Vivienne’s death, also shared via Jones’ Instagram account, Jones shared a more personal reaction to the news, writing that The Vivienne was more than a client — they were a friend.
Kandy Muse, who was the runner-up on season 13 of Drag Race, shared their own tribute to The Vivienne via Instagram on Sunday. “you f—ing rockstar, you angel. I am in utter shock, devastated and absolutely heartbroken, one of the sweetest person I’ve ever gotten to meet and spend time with – you kept me up while I was at my lowest in life on tour with your bright energy and smile, I’ll miss you friend. rest easy you beauty. I’m Still Here’s Fernanda Torres took home the trophy for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama during the Sunday, January 5, ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
“My god, I did not prepare anything … This is such an amazing year for female performances, so many actresses here that I admire so much,” Torres, 59, said during her acceptance speech, while dedicating the award to her mom. “You have no idea, she was here 25 years ago and this is, like, proof that art can endure.”
There were five other nominees in the category, including Pamela Anderson for The Last Showgirl, Angelina Jolie for Maria, Nicole Kidman for Babygirl, Tilda Swinton for The Room Next Door and Kate Winslet for Lee.
The category was stacked with talent from the get-go. Kidman, 57, led the pack with a total of six wins and 18 nominations throughout her career. She previously secured awards for To Die For in 1996, Moulin Rouge! in 2002, The Hours in 2003, Big Little Lies in 2018 and Being the Ricardos in 2022, while also earning nods for Billy Bathgate, The Others, Cold Mountain, Birth, Rabbit Hole, Hemingway & Gellhorn, The Paperboy, Lion, Destroyer, Big Little Lies season 2 and The Undoing.

Winslet, 49, followed closely behind with five wins — for The Reader and Revolutionary Road in 2009, Mildred Pierce in 2012, Steve Jobs in 2016 and Mare of Easttown in 2022 — and 14 nominations for Sense and Sensibility, Titanic, Iris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Little Children, Carnage and Labor Day. This year, she landed a second nod in a different category: Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for the HBO miniseries The Regime.
For her part, Jolie, 49, already had three wins under her belt for George Wallace in 1998, Gia in 1999 and Girl, Interrupted in 2000. She also had a total of nine career nominations, including for A Mighty Heart, Changeling, The Tourist, In the Land of Blood and Honey and First They Killed My Father.
Prior to the 2025 ceremony, Swinton, 64, received three previous nods for The Deep End in 2002, Michael Clayton in 2008 and We Need to Talk About Kevin in 2012.
As for Anderson, 57, and Torres, 59, this year marked their first-ever Golden Globes nominations.
Talk about a shocker … or 10! The Golden Globe Awards are not always predictable, despite the intensive guessing games some play leading up to the annual ceremony. In fact, the awards show delivered major surprises and snubs during its decades-long history.
Each year gives fans and industry folks names left off the nominations roster or an upset, but some are the kind of moments that will never be forgotten. From critically beloved TV shows that never received nods to lauded performances that were overlooked to statues being awarded to those who seemed like long shots, the Golden Globes know how to keep viewers on their toes.
“Thank you to my mom and dad for telling me to dream and to never stop dreaming,” the actress gushed in her speech. “My father used to tell me to say every morning, ‘Today’s going to be a great day. I can and I will.’ Well, Dad, today’s a great day. I can and I did.”
Keri Russell pulled off a similar upset in 1999 when she won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for her leading role on Felicity. However, as the actress earned critical acclaim for her work on The Americans nearly two decades later, she admitted exclusively to Us Weekly that she prefers to be snubbed.
“It’s such a cool thing to be nominated and I’m always very secretly thankful I don’t have to speak publicly,” she confessed in September 2017. “Always secretly relieved. Always. I just go, ‘Oh, my God. Thank God.’”
Other stars and projects — such as Alfred Hitchcock, Robert De Niro, Friday Night Lights and True Grit — were shut out of the awards-show fervor, leading to much backlash.

The director was repeatedly snubbed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which overlooked Psycho, Rear Window and Vertigo. He eventually received a nod in 1973 for Best Director – Motion Picture for Frenzy and the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award in 1972.
The actor failed to secure a nomination for 1974’s The Godfather Part II, though the film received six nods. De Niro went on to win the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as a young Vito Corleone.
The actress was snubbed for her performance in 1976’s Taxi Driver. She later received an Oscar nomination for the film, while the Golden Globes chose to nominate her during the same year for her part in Freaky Friday.
Unprecedented! The 1989 Golden Globe Awards delivered a big surprise when Weaver, Foster and MacLaine won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama in a three-way tie. Four other categories ended in ties too.
The actress was a long shot for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama in 1999. However, her work on Felicity led her to the prize, beating out Julianna Margulies, Roma Downey, Gillian Anderson and Kim Delaney.
The HBO series, which ran from 2002 to 2008, is considered one of the best television shows ever to hit the airwaves, but that did not lead to a single Golden Globe nomination for the crime drama.
Another critical darling! Friday Night Lights, which aired from 2006 to 2011, still receives acclaim for its realistic yet captivating story lines and acting. The drama never received a nod from the HFPA, though.
Birdman won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2015, but The Grand Budapest Hotel beat the film for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.
Make that two upsets in 2015! Rodriguez secured The CW’s first Golden Globe when she won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Jane the Virgin.
The Netflix comedy is beloved by some fans, but it's hate-watched by others — including critics, who widely panned the show after season 1 debuted in 2020. Awards watchers were then surprised when Emily in Paris scored a best TV series nod at the 2021 Golden Globes, with a best actress nod for Lily Collins. It didn't help that Michaela Coel was completely shut out of any nominations for her HBO series I May Destroy You, which ended up on many best-of-the-year lists.
Up against movie star heavyweights like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Pamela Anderson, Kate Winslet and Tilda Swinton, Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres took home Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama at the 2025 Golden Globes for her performance in I’m Still Here.
“My God, I didn’t prepare anything because I was glad already [to be nominated]. This is such an amazing year for female performers. There are so many actresses here that I admire so much,” she gushed during her acceptance speech. “I want to dedicate it to my mother ... this is, like, proof that art can endure through life even in difficult moments.”
Kody Brown let his walls down during the latest episode of Sister Wives and shared the truth about when he lost his virginity.
“You want to know the craziest thing?” Kody, 55, asked viewers during the Sunday, January 5, episode of the TLC series. “I had a lover in college, and it was a little tryst.”
The reality star confessed he was “a naughty boy based on my faith” because of his dalliance in school. “I had a relationship in college where I lost my virginity,” he shared. “It was devastating to me. It was heartbreaking.”
Kody explained that since “purity” was “everything” in his childhood church, having sex out of wedlock messed with him. “It’s like you’re working your way back for it,” he told the cameras, reiterating, “It is devastating.”
Kody — who went on to father 15 children with his four wives — revealed that “nobody knew” about his college hookup except for first wife Meri Brown and fourth wife Robyn Brown.
“It was really because I don’t believe I ever got intimate enough with [my other wives] Christine [Brown] and Janelle [Brown] to tell them,” he continued, noting that Robyn, 46, learned about his past within the “first month we knew each other.”
Kody said his ability to tell Robyn such an intimate detail about his life was because he “felt safe” with her from the start.
“I’m not safe with them and they’re not safe with me,” he said of Janelle, 55, and Christine, 52.
Kody’s confession was prompted by a conversation he had with Robyn during the episode about whether he ever loved his first three wives completely. (Christine and Kody split in November 2021. Janelle announced her separation in December 2022 and Meri, 53, confirmed their breakup in January 2023.)
“You were in love when you married them and, like, when you were together, right, like, in the beginning?” Robyn asked her husband.
He grimaced before answering his spouse, saying, “Don’t make me compare, please.” Kody explained that he “didn’t know” what it was like to “really have deep divine love” until Robyn came into his life.
“I’m a flip-flopping fool when it comes to those ex-wives,” Kody said during a confessional, claiming, “All of us are rewriting the past. I mean, Meri’s rewriting it like crazy. I’m rewriting I’m sure because yes, I probably loved them. I had Robyn convinced I was in love with them.”
Kody added that he must have “sold” Robyn on the idea that his family was “something special” because once it fell apart it’s been “messing with her.”
When he later told Robyn that he needs her to “let that go” and “not hold it against” him that he was no longer in love with his exes. He alleged that he “agreed” with Christine, Janelle and Meri that their respective relationships had run their course.
“I’m not trying to be cruel to Robyn. And yet, it’s just heartbreaking to her when the reality finally hits right in front of her,” Kody concluded.

The Abbott Elementary cast traded the classroom for a night out at the 2025 Golden Globes — although the beloved show did not add to its collection of awards this time.
The cast arrived at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5, for the 82nd iteration of the award show, celebrating their two nominations. The ABC series earned a nod for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy while the show’s creator and star Quinta Brunson was up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Comedy.
Brunson, 35, ultimately lost to Jean Smart for her performance on Hacks. Later in the evening, Abbott Elementary lost Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy to Hacks.
In the best comedy category, Abbott Elementary faced some tough competition from Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, Nobody Wants This, The Gentlemen and The Bear. This is Abbott’s third year being nominated in the category, previously taking home the coveted prize in 2023. At last year’s ceremony, The Bear won.
Sunday also marked the third time Brunson, 35, received a nod for her portrayal of Janine Teagues. This year, she was recognized alongside Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) and Jean Smart (Hacks). Brunson won the Golden Globe in 2023 as a first-time nominee. She was also nominated last year but lost to Edebiri.
None of Abbott’s supporting cast were nominated for a Golden Globe this year. Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph were both up for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series – Comedy/Musical or Drama in 2023 but lost to Julia Garner for Ozark. Tyler James Williams, who plays Bruson’s love interest, Gregory Eddie, won Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series – Comedy/Musical or Drama in 2023 as a first-time nominee.
Since Abbott’s first Golden Globe win for its inaugural season, the sitcom has come a long way. Fans got their wish as Janine and Gregory became a couple in season 3. Following its October 2024 premiere, season 4 has brought a lot of laughs and is prepared to deliver more in a highly anticipated crossover with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
“I think it’s very cool,” Brunson exclusively told Us Weekly of the special event. “I think it’s unexpected and I think that it’ll be like a delight to the audience of both shows. You know, I think it’ll be very exciting for the people who watch our shows. And if they watch one show and not the other, I think that’s cool too because it’ll make people interested in that show. I’m just excited about it and I think it’s just a fun way to shake up TV.”
Kieran Culkin and his wife, Jazz Charton, have been by each other’s sides for more than a decade.
The Succession star and the London native met at a New York City bar in 2012. Culkin recalled his hilarious first conversation with his future wife in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I said, ‘I’m Kieran. You have an English accent. What’s your name?’” he shared in October 2021. “She said, ‘I’m Jazz.’ I said, ‘J-A-Z-Z, like the music?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s f—ing stupid.’”
His humor worked the trick, and the two tied the knot a year later.Culkin and Charton welcomed their first child in September 2019. Their second baby arrived in August 2021 — the same year Kieran’s brother Macaulay Culkin and fiancée Brenda Song became parents.

The couple first met at a bar in New York City while Charton was working in the music department of an advertising company. "I said, ‘I’m Kieran. You have an English accent. The two tied the knot while on a road trip together in Iowa. A month after their low-key nuptials, Charton shared a pic of their matching pillows that read "Mrs. Culkin" and "Mr. Culkin" via Instagram.
The Home Alone star called his wife the "most beautiful girl" in an interview with iNews, adding, “When someone is as beautiful as my wife, you just want to be close to that.”
He went on to share more details about their first meeting. Noticing that Charton was with another guy at the bar where he introduces himself, the actor shared, “I asked if he was her boyfriend and when she said no, I asked if I could be her boyfriend. We’ve been together ever since."
Six years after saying "I do," the duo announced they were expecting their first child. "My favourite surprise so far," Charton captioned a sonogram pic via Instagram. "We had no idea how much we wanted this until it happened. We’re excited/terrified/ecstatic/unprepared but we cannot wait to meet our little unexpected creation in September."
"And just like that our little Kinsey Sioux (‘Zissou’) is home," Charton captioned an Instagram pic of herself holding her and the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star's newborn daughter. "After 25 hours of laboring at home, we arrived at the hospital too late for any pain meds as I was already dilated and ready to push (if I ever do this again I want ALL THE DRUGS, all of them!) and she was out within the hour during a full moon on Friday the 13th. Of course our daughter was born on Friday the 13th."
She continued: "This is me 4 days postpartum - I live in sexy surgical mesh underwear that’s keeping a world of pain in check, my boobs are engorged, I burst blood vessels In my face from pushing, my big pregnant belly that I loved so much deflated to a mere paunch but it’s all so worth it. I’ve never been more in love and we’ve never felt more complete."
The proud parents revealed that they welcomed their son, Wilder Wolf, a month after he was born in August 2021. "One month with our perfect little man 8.17.21," Charton captioned a slideshow of Instagram pics with her baby.
Two months after becoming a father of two, the Paper Man star revealed that he and his wife didn't have a name picked out for their son until seven weeks after Wilder Wolf was born.
“We had a dry-erase board, and we just went over every name we’d thought of," he said on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "We were like, ‘Let’s focus on girl names because we like these,’ and we narrowed it down to two names we really liked. We agreed it was going to be one of those two names if it’s a girl, and if it’s a boy, we’re screwed. And we had a boy. And spent seven weeks arguing about names.”
Charton showed her support for her husband's first-time Saturday Night Live hosting gig via Instagram. "Proud would be an understatement," she captioned a pic from his SNL photo shoot. "So lucky to see this impressive man achieve his dreams - even while our kids deprive me of sleep and just general quality of life. Going to the after party was a mistake."
"9 years," Charton captioned a sweet photo of herself and Kieran kissing at their wedding via Instagram in honor of their almost 10-year anniversary.
The pair looked more in love than ever while walking the red carpet at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. While posing for photographers, Culkin playfully bit his wife’s shoulder while Charton burst into laughter.
Culkin and Charton rocked the Met Gala carpet in New York City on May 6. The duo were the perfect picture of romance in complementary outfits, with Culkin sporting an oil painting-inspired suit by KidSuper and Charton donning a floor-length yellow gown featuring a thigh-high slit.
The cast and crew of Baby Reindeer had an evening to remember at the 2025 Golden Globes.
After being nominated for Best Limited Series Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and Best Female Supporting Actor — Television, Richard Gadd, Jessica Gunning and the Netflix grew discovered they had won two Golden Globes.
“I cannot believe any of this is happening to me,” Gunning, 38, said upon accepting her award for Best Female Supporting Actor — Television. “Baby Reindeer has changed my life in ways that I can’t even explain.”
Gadd, 35, lost the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television to Colin Farrell for his role on The Penguin.
However, Gadd had the opportunity to thank fans of the show when he and the Baby Reindeer cast and crew accepted the award for Best Limited Series Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television.
“The way you guys have embraced this show means the absolute world to me. To us,” he said in his acceptance speech. “Right now, when the world is in the state that it is in and people are really struggling, we need stories that speak to the complicated and difficult nature of our times. Any story, when done right, is universal, and all the weird, idiosyncratic struggles we go through on a daily basis are just as worthy of being committed to screen as any.”
Before any awards were handed out on Sunday, January 5, at The Beverly Hilton, both Gadd and Gunning expressed gratitude for being recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press.
“I am beyond thrilled that Baby Reindeer has been nominated for three Golden Globes,” Gadd said in a statement in December 2024 when nominations were first announced. “Almost every year, I have watched the event hoping that one day I might be there in the audience, sitting among the industry’s finest, getting roasted on an international scale. So it is a dream come true.”
Gadd found himself up against several Hollywood legends including Colin Farrell (The Penguin), Kevin Kline (Disclaimer), Cooper Koch (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Ewan McGregor, (A Gentleman in Moscow) and Andrew Scott (Ripley).
Gunning was just as thrilled to be in the same category as Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), Dakota Fanning (Ripley), Allison Janney (The Diplomat) and Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country).

“Words can’t really do justice to how thrilled I am to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress — alongside some of my idols as well, no less!” she said in December 2024. “I think I might need someone to pinch me to check I’m not dreaming.”
Baby Reindeer, which first premiered in April 2024, follows a comedian named Donny (Gadd) as he deals with a female stalker named Martha (Gunning).
Donny’s tense situation takes a toll on his relationships with friends and family and forces him to face past traumas.
“I remember thinking, ‘Maybe someone might watch it [over] the weekend. Maybe I’ll get a few texts.’ But literally the second it went out, my phone was exploding,” Gadd said in a June 2024 appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna. “It felt like it was overnight, that everyone was talking about us suddenly — talking about us, talking about the show. And then, it just started becoming No. 1 in all these countries around the globe. It’s just been crazy.”
“No, no!” Vergara, 52, who was nominated for her role in Griselda, yelled, standing up and flailing her arms while Foster, 62, accepted the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor, Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for her performance in True Detective: Night Country at the 82nd annual Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5.
“I know, I know,” Foster said in response to Vergara as she took the stage and began her acceptance speech for her fifth Golden Globe out of 10 total nominations in her career. She previously took home awards for The Accused (1989), The Silence of the Lambs (1992) and The Mauritanian (2021), and she was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2013.
“Give me one!” Vergara continued to protest, playfully interrupting Foster’s speech while laughing.
Foster confirmed there were no hard feelings between the two actresses when she gave Vergara a shout-out.
“The greatest thing about being this age and being this time is having a community of all these people, especially you, Sofia,” Foster said. “Our True Detective team, who I love so much, we’re really only here for one reason, and that is the wonderful, beautiful Issa López, our showrunner, writer [and] director. So grateful to you for your talent and your friendship.”

When the camera panned back to the Griselda actress, she was smiling.
Foster went on to thank the network, cast and crew of True Detective: Night Country, the fourth season of the anthology crime drama, which premiered in 2014, and she gave special thanks to “the Indigenous people who shared their stories with us,” noting “they changed my life and hopefully they’ll change yours.”
Foster and Vergara were also up against Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Kate Winslet (The Regime) and Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans) in this category.
The five-time Globe winner gave a shout-out to her wife, Alexandra Hedison, but her date at the event was her 23-year-old son, Kit, who looked on proudly during his mom’s speech.
“Kit, my scientist son, and Charlie, my actor son who is starting his career, hopefully, you understand the joy, such joy that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work,” she told her children from the stage. (Charlie, 26, was not present at the show.)
True Detective: Night Country was also nominated for Best Female Supporting Actor, Television and Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, both of which the show lost to Baby Reindeer.
True Detective: Night Country is currently streaming on Hulu.
Elton John may be struggling with his eyesight, but he’s still got jokes.
“I don’t know if you know, but there’s been a lot of stories going on around about my recursive eyesight,” John, 77, said when taking the 2025 Golden Globes stage on Sunday, January 5. “I just wanted to reassure everybody that it’s not as bad as it seems.”
The legendary singer took the stage alongside Brandi Carlile to present the award for Best Original Score, Motion Picture. (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross took home the win for Challengers.)
“I’m so pleased to be here with my cohost, Rihanna,” John continued, motioning toward Carlile, 43, who held back laughter before presenting the award.
John first revealed his health issue in a September 2024 Instagram statement. He offered more details during a November 2024 interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, explaining that he had lost sight in his right eye following an illness.

“I had an infection in the South of France. It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see, and my left eye’s not the greatest,” the musician said, noting that there’s “hope and encouragement” he will eventually be able to see.
“I’m kind of stuck in the moment,” John explained, admitting he’s unsure whether recording music is possible at the moment.
Elton John, while standing next to Brandi Carlile, reassured everyone that his health issues with his eyes aren’t as bad as everyone thinks:
“I can’t see a lyric, for start. We’re taking an initiative to try and get it better, but at the moment, that’s really what we’re concentrating on,” he continued. “It’s never fortunate for anything like this to happen. It kinda floored me, and I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything.”
John also spoke candidly about his eyesight last month when addressing the crowd at the opening of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical in London. It was reported at the time that John was assisted getting off stage by husband David Furnish. (John provided the music for the new stage show.)
“As some of you may know I have had issues and now I have lost my sight. I haven’t been able to see the performance but I have enjoyed it,” he said when taking the stage, according to the Daily Mail. “To my husband who’s been my rock because I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews … it’s hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it and it sounded good tonight. Thank you for coming.”
Only Murders in the Building had been nominated in four categories, including Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy. The three lead actors — Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez— were also honored with individual nominations. OMITB lost Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy to Hacks.
Martin, 79, and Short, 74, were nominated against one another for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Comedy alongside Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Ted Danson (AMan on the Inside), Jason Segel (Shrinking) and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear). White, 33, took home the honor despite an absence at the ceremony.
Gomez, 32, was honored in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy category against Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) and Jean Smart (Hacks). When Gomez lost to Smart, 73, she was seen enthusiastically applauding from her seat.
Gomez was also a double nominee who was honored in the Best Supporting Female Actor, Film category for her role in Emilia Pérez. The Rare Beauty founder was up against costar Zoe Saldaña, Wicked’s Ariana Grande, The Brutalist star Felicity Jones, The Substance standout Margaret Qualley and Conclave’s Isabella Rossellini. (Saldaña, 46, took home the trophy in her debut Globes win.)

“I don’t even know what to write,” Gomez gushed via Instagram Story last month. “I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I am so grateful and honored @goldenglobes.”
She continued in a follow-up upload, “@karsiagascon mi amor I am so proud and grateful to know you! Congratulations to Jacques, [Clément Ducol] and Camille. … So proud of my @onlymurdershulu family .”
Gomez was previously nominated for a Golden Globe for her OMITB role of Mabel Mora during the 2023 and 2024 ceremonies. Martin and Short have also consistently earned nominations since the Hulu series premiered in 2021. While OMITB has been nominated for 16 total Globes, the show had yet to win a single trophy ahead of Sunday’s ceremony.
Despite OMITB’s lack of wins, it remains a standout series for its star-studded crop of actors.
“It is truly a no-hazing set. It is absolutely and completely supportive, generous and kind,” Kumal Nanjiani, who joined during season 4 last year, exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024. “It’s just a very, very joyful set.”
He gushed, “What we get to do should be joyful. It’s hard work but that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be joy with it. And [they] really understand that. [Steve and Martin] have been doing it so long, I’m sure they’ve been on all kinds of sets and they’ve decided if they are on a set, everyone is going to feel safe and joyful. And that’s what they do.”
The Die Hard star and the actress tied the knot in 1987 and started growing their family the following year. Rumer arrived in 1988, followed by sisters Scout and Tallulah in 1991 and 1994, respectively. They announced their separation in 1998, filing for divorce two years later.
The former couple’s eldest daughter gushed about her parents’ coparenting relationship in 2015, telling Larry King at the time: “They always made an effort to do all of the family events still together and made such an effort to still have our family be as one unit, as opposed to two separate things, which I think really made an impact.”
While Moore moved on with Ashton Kutcher and was married to the That ‘70s Show star from 2005 to 2013, Willis wed Heming in 2009 and renewed their vows a decade later. The couple share daughters Mabel and Evelyn, whom they welcomed in April 2012 and May 2014, respectively.

It was important for her to be there."
After the Ghost star and Willis posted pictures quarantining in matching pajamas with their daughters via Instagram, the former model commented, "Love and miss you guys."
“Happy birthday @demimoore,” Heming captioned an Instagram Story selfie with her husband in honor of Moore’s 58th birthday. “We adore you!” The couple held up the Ghost actress’ autobiography, Inside Out, in their cheeky tribute snap.
Moore gushed about Heming on International Women's Day in an Instagram post honoring “the women who inspire me. “I #SeeHer as family who I am honored to call a friend. Our children are sisters and yet there is no name for what our family connection is to one another,” Moore wrote in March 2021. “We are mothers united, sisters bonded on this crazy adventure of life."Heming was equally effusive, telling the Inside Out author that she "touch[ed] my soul" with her kind words: "Thank you Demi ♥️ I adore you too."
The women and their respective daughters released a letter announcing Willis' struggle with aphasia and subsequent retirement. Heming signed the note first, followed by Moore. Willis' daughters were listed from oldest to youngest.
"To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," the joint statement, released via Instagram, read. "As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him."
They went on to note that it was "a really challenging time" for them. "We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him," they wrote. "As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that."
When Moore shared a throwback photo with her ex-husband from the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, the model gushed in an Instagram comment, "All the feels ❤️ beautiful."
"Loving my 🩱 @demimoore x @andieswim," Heming wrote alongside an Instagram snap of her posing in a swimsuit from Moore's vintage-inspired collection.
The CocoBaba founder and her husband sent Moore well-wishes on her 60th birthday, gushing in an Instagram Story: "We love you inside and out."
"We are FAMILY!! Getting into the holiday spirit!" Moore gushed via Instagram as the blended family posed together in front of a Christmas tree.
One month after sharing an update on the actor's dementia battle, the women teamed up to celebrate his 68th birthday in March 2023. "Happy birthday, BW! So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them," Moore captioned an Instagram video, which featured herself, Heming Willis and their respective children singing to Willis.
