Naomi Watts enjoyed her own little slice of paradise to kick off 2025.
“A perfect vacation in the sun,” Watts, 56, captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, January 2. “Thank you Barbados!!”
The 15-photo social media slideshow included Watts smiling with family and friends, including husband Billy Crudup and kids Sasha and Kai Schreiber. (Watts shares Sasha, 17, and Kai, 16, with exLiev Schreiber.)
Crudup, 56, appeared in several of the vacation photos. One image showed him cozying up to Watts with his arm around the actress. The couple donned soft smiles and looked relaxed as ever. Both Watts and Crudup wore hats, keeping a low profile and keeping cool in the sun.
Watts also snapped a selfie with Crudup and Sasha while sitting down for a meal on the beach. It appeared Watts played photographer for the entire trip, snapping pictures of Crudup with their friends as well.
After meeting in 2017, Watts and Crudup started dating. The two have cemented themselves as one of Hollywood’s favorite couples since making their red carpet debut in February 2018. While the duo have no qualms about their relationship being in the public eye, Watts and Crudup have also mastered the art of keeping things low-key.
The couple secretly tied the knot in June 2023, according to an Instagram announcement from Watts. “Hitched,” she wrote, revealing that they got married in New York City.
“They wanted to keep it low-key and have this moment to themselves, and they pulled it off beautifully,” a source told Us Weekly at the time, calling the wedding “stress-free” and “spur of the moment.”
The insider explained that Watts and Crudup “never wanted” to have “a big A-list wedding.” Opting for a courthouse wedding was “so special” for the couple, the source added. (They hosted a larger wedding ceremony in June 2024.)
While they tend to keep details of their marriage out of any interviews, Watts did speak candidly about her “pretty great” sex life with Crudup during an August 2023 event.
“I personally think sex becomes more pleasurable when you take out the fear of making babies,” Watts said at the time, noting that she’s felt “more confident” in the bedroom with a partner who is “100 percent empathetic” without referring to Crudup by name.
“Whatever it is you’re going through, if you can talk to your partner, if you can be honest and have a really authentic conversation and take away the awkwardness, and most of the time if they’re good people, they will be empathetic,” Watts continued. “And that’s hot.”
Camille Grammer is going into 2025 with an all-new physical and mental mindset.
“New Year, new look,” Grammer, 56, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 2, sharing a bikini selfie. “I was over the look of my implants and wanted the natural look. I feel much better without them.”
Grammer also expressed her gratitude to plastic surgeon Robert Cohen for performing the procedure.
“Omg so amazing love! You look great,” Gretchen Rossi wrote via Instagram comment, while Sutton Stracke added, “Yep.”
Actress Eden Alpert, for her part, chimed in: “Amazing, it was the best thing I ever did.”
Grammer has been candid about the plastic surgery she’s had through the years.
“Oh God, what have I done? Let’s see, obviously, I’ve had a breast augmentation and Botox absolutely,” she said on Judith Regan’s SiriusXM radio show in 2010. “Just a crock full of Botox.”
Grammer is also a cancer survivor, battling endometrial cancer in 2013 followed by skin cancer in 2017.
“It’s a squamous cell carcinoma and it could show up on the skin or in your lungs, it could be in the back of your throat, in your vagina, in your labia, there’s many places it could show up,” she told Us Weekly in December 2017. “I had surgery three days ago and I’m out and about but I’m still healing and I’m still in some pain.”
At the time, Grammer praised her family’s support during the health scare.
“I think keeping your family close and having them support you helps you so much,” she said, adding she got her “strength” from her late mother. “Also having a good man in your life, and I have a lot of great friends, too.”
Grammer wed now-husband David C. Meyer one year later in October 2018. She was previously married to actor Kelsey Grammer before divorcing in 2010. Camille and Kelsey, 69, share daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20.
“I’m very strong and I get that from my mother because my mother is the strongest person I know,” Mason gushed in June 2024. “She’s just amazing. Just being strong is really important.”
Mason is also hoping to follow in her family’s acting footsteps, telling Us, “I’m taking classes. I’m working towards that but I also love being behind the camera. Anything I can do within the film industry, I’ll be really happy doing so that’s my goal.”
Michael B. Jordan found himself mentioned on another Netflix real estate show — but this time because of his past situationship with Selling the City‘s Gisselle Meneses Nunez.
During the first season of the Netflix series, which premiered on Friday, January 3, Eleonora Srugo introduced her employees at Douglas Elliman to a penthouse at the Olympia Dumbo which is valued at nearly 20 million dollars.
“So a major, pretty well-known buyer came in here, decided to enter a contract to purchase the apartment. They actually asked the developer here to stop building,” Eleonora, 37, explained. “You know that when a contract gets signed — especially when a building like this isn’t complete yet — you need to wait for a certain percentage of the other units to sell to be able to close on it. That time allowed the buyers to actually walk away from this purchase.”
“I think it is someone that both Jordyn [Taylor Braff] and Gisselle know well. People still think that this person is in contract and going to move forward with the purchase,” she noted. “Even the brokerage community is not aware that this buyer for a 20 million dollar apartment is potentially out there still looking.”
In a confessional, Abigail Godfrey confirmed it was Jordan, 37, adding, “We all know. It’s public record. Everybody knows who it is. I don’t know why we are all talking in code.”
Eleonora encouraged her team to use the tip that Jordan is still in the market for an apartment to their advantage. Later in the episode, Jordyn, 34, revealed she “nabbed him” as a possible client.
“I went out one night with my boyfriend and by chance we stumbled upon each other. Drinks were flowing, he let us know what his real estate needs were,” she recalled. “There were three other real estate agents in the room so I had to make sure it was ours. We are bringing it to the team.”
“This client is someone who I had a situationship with seven years ago. But we are still in touch and we are still good friends. We have spoken about real estate,” she told the cameras. “Jordyn doesn’t even have his personal phone number. So I expected for her to at least — just the bare minimum — to just let me know that she ran into this person. It is girl code.”
The duo subsequently attempted to hash out their issues in private. Gisselle initiated the conversation by saying Jordyn “should have sent” her a message before getting in contact with the actor.
“Don’t forget I have known this person for years as well,” Jordyn fired back. “This person is a friend of mine. We’ve been distant friends for years. My point is there is no personal relationship. It is a cut and dry business relationship, which is why this works so well.”
Jordyn argued that Gisselle was making the business deal too personal.
“To me, it was unclear that you guys had any type of real estate relationship. For me, it felt very personal to you. It muddies things,” Jordyn said, to which Gisselle replied, “Me and him are just friends. There’s nothing there anymore.”
Gisselle continued: “I was upset because they have asked me to calculate numbers for them before. So I have had somewhat of a relationship with him and his partners in that sense.”
“What you are saying is if I run into Trevor Noah and now I go after him and get him as a client, that is fine?” Gisselle asked, which didn’t sit well with Jordyn, who asked, “Is that a threat? Are you now on a mission to go do that?”
The coworkers ultimately acknowledged they weren’t sure how to “build trust” after their argument. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly before Selling the City‘s premiere, Jordyn said they “were still working” on the “very long” process with the listing.
This isn’t the first time Jordan was brought up on a Netflix reality show. Selling Sunset’s Bre Tiesi revealed that she hooked up with Jordan during season 7 of the hit series.
“Who would you sleep with celebrity-wise? Who would you pick?” Chrishell Stause asked before Amanza Smith chose the Marvel actor. Bre, 33, meanwhile, replied, “I could do that, and I’ve done that. I’ve slept with all of my favorites. I’m kidding.”
Bre later claimed her comment was part of a larger conversation about her relationship with Nick Cannon, with whom she shares 2-year-old son Legendary.
“We were all having girl talk, and we were sitting and resetting the cameras — it wasn’t a conversation that was technically [meant to be filmed]. I know better and that’s my own fault. I know better,” Bre told Entertainment Tonight in November 2023. “I’ve definitely learned a lot these last few seasons but that was in no way me trying to be like ‘Oh, I did X, Y and Z.’ I was actually having a conversation and I had said that I had had a baby with my celebrity crush, but that didn’t make it.”
She continued: “You know, there’s other things that happen in these conversations but remember, we want to make a good show. Whatever makes it, makes it and whatever doesn’t, doesn’t. But also, that wasn’t my intention.”
Bre played coy when asked what “era of Michael B. Jordan” her hookup occurred, saying, “We’re not going to get into that too much.”

In an interview with Sports Illustrated — where she was named 2024 Sportsperson of the Year — published on Thursday, January 2, Biles, 27, said returning for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics would feel like “life and death” after winning four medals in Paris this past summer.
“Because I’ve accomplished so much, there’s almost nothing left to do rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what?” she explained. “I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done.”
Though Biles did not confirm a firm decision, she told the outlet it would feel “greedy” if she did return to the Games. “Those are the consequences. But that’s also your decision to decide,” she said. “What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you’re younger, it’s like, prom, college. Now it’s like, starting a family, being away from my husband [Jonathan Owens]. What’s really worth it?”
Biles took home a total of four medals at the Paris Summer Olympics, which ran from July 2024 to August 2024, bringing her total medal count to 11. (The 2024 Olympics also marked a major return for Biles after she was forced to withdraw from several events at the Tokyo Olympics.)
In addition to helping the U.S. women’s gymnastics team win gold in the women’s team competition, Biles won two individual gold in the women’s all-around and vault events. She also earned a silver in the women’s floor exercise, coming in second to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade.
Her wins in Paris earned her the honor of the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history taking the title from former Olympian Shannon Miller.
Having never expected to become the face of U.S. gymnastics, Biles told the outlet she’s not ready to wrestle with the legacy she’ll leave behind. “I don’t think the reality has set in of what I’ve exactly done in the sport,” she noted. “I can see it, and I hear it from people, and I see a glimpse of it, but the full magnitude I don’t think I’ve realized just yet. I don’t think I’ll realize ’til maybe I retire and look back in a couple years like, ‘Damn, she was good.’ Because I can see that, but I do it every day. So, for me, it’s normal.”
Shortly after the Paris Games came to a close, Biles exclusively told Us Weekly what she would change about the Olympic Village in 2028. “We’re elite athletes trying to compete on the biggest stage of our life, the most important meet of our life, and they’re like, ‘Hey, try doing it after you sleep on this cardboard bed,’” she shared in September. “We’re the best athletes in the world, so I feel like for just one or two weeks we deserve the best of the best. You know, we shouldn’t be stressing about sleeping on a cardboard bed.”
She later hinted at a possible retirement in the second half of her Simone Biles Rising Netflix docuseries, which dropped in October 2024. “At this moment in my career, I feel like if I had to process it, it would be bittersweet,” she said of hanging up her leotard after Paris. “I mean, we’ve been longing for this for a while now and now it’s here. It’s gone.”
Noting that she felt “a lot of relief” after competing in Paris, she added: “Now, I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. Like, what happens in life now?’”
Josh Gad rips the Band-Aid off in his forthcoming memoir, In Gad We Trust: A Tell-Some, proving that he’s so much more than just a musical Mormon and an animated snowman.
The triple threat sat down with Us Weekly exclusively to look back at some of his most memorable stories from the book (out Tuesday, January 14), including his slow rise to fame, which required putting in the work despite tough times and setbacks along the way. Today, however, Gad can say he’s officially made it. With this book, he tells both personal and professional tales. Confused about him calling it “a tell-some”? The actor was quick to set the record straight.
“It’s more of a joke. If anything, I tell all and then some,” Gad explained to Us. “I looked at the exercise, as I was getting further into it, as if it was therapy in front of a mirror. The more vulnerable I got, the more I allowed myself to go down that path — even though I was hesitant to, scared to and, maybe, resistant.”
Gad decided that he wanted to “give people a reason to read this” book, which meant being honest.
“That was sort of a kind of obvious decision, but also a profound one for me because I’m not usually an open book — no pun intended,” he explained. “I learned a lot about myself in the process of writing this and talking about all aspects from personal to career to family stuff.”
The Frozen star writes about having a father who was absent for most of his life and explains how that impacted his own journey into parenthood. (Gad shares Ava, 13, and Isabella, 10, with wife Ida Darvish.)
For those more interested in his Hollywood success, he also shares a lot of career anecdotes.
“I enjoyed the hell out of writing [the book], and I hope everyone who reads it takes away something that’s useful and inspires them,” he told Us. “At the very least, I hope they have a good laugh.”

Live From New York … It’s Rejection
After his 2003 graduation from Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University, Gad decided to try out for Saturday Night Live. His friend Bryce Dallas Howard recruited her dad, famed director Ron Howard, to open his audition tape — yet Gad was turned down three times.
“I love failing because it gives me a platform to succeed. Don’t let others force you to give up on yourself. I think perseverance is as important as skill,” Gad shared. “I didn’t love it at the time, certainly hated it — but rejection was as important to me and continues to be as important to me as acceptance. A part of it is, ‘F— me? F— you. I’m gonna prove you wrong.’”
A Lifelong Struggle
“I had always been uncomfortable and ashamed of my overweight body,” Gad wrote in the book. By 2007, Hollywood had put him in a “loud fat best friend” box when it came to casting, something he worried would continue throughout his career.
“It’s always in the background,” he admitted to Us. “I hope discussing issues like struggles with weight [and] severe anxiety give people a sense [of], ‘If I can be here and do this and overcome those things but still deal with them, you’ve got this. We’ve got this together.’ I felt strongly that this was something I needed to talk about [in the book], as uncomfortable as it was.”
Watching Aladdin at age 11 profoundly impacted Gad. Robin Williams’ Genie made him want to voice a Disney cartoon character (which he did with Olaf in 2013’s Frozen). After Gad met the legend during his run in The Book of Mormon, they started a friendship that ended too soon. (Williams died by suicide at age 63 in August 2014.)
“It’s so frustrating because you imagine somebody’s gonna be around forever. There was so much I planned to talk to him about. We had been speaking less and less. I saw him, I think, the year before he passed,” Gad remembered. “I could tell he was down. He wasn’t his vibrant self, but I didn’t really know what was going on. I didn’t want to burden him with any conversations, certainly about myself. I feel grateful that he would’ve had an opportunity to hear me talk about how he inspired me — it’s something I said to him personally.”
A Memorable Encounter
Years before Kevin Spacey’s fall from grace, Gad appeared alongside him in the 2008 movie 21. While filming, he wrote, Spacey would “force” him into an “impression-off” over dinners in Boston. (The disgraced actor has faced multiple sexual assault allegations since 2017, which he has denied. He was acquitted of nine charges in July 2023.)
“It was such a strange thing,” Gad told Us. “But also it felt like a sign of respect where he was really, I think, tickled by the fact that I could do voices.”
Gad explained that he was not apprehensive when bringing up Spacey in the book.
“I’m not saying anything uncomfortable,” he continued. “This is my life; these are the people I’ve encountered. Kevin Spacey happens to be one of them, and I have a very entertaining story to tell. I’m gonna leave the controversy to other writers but just tell you, hopefully, an anecdote that will make you go, ‘That’s wild.’”
Vanessa Williams is honoring her mother, Helen, after she died at the age of 85.
“On December 28th, the world lost a powerhouse, dynamo and force of nature packed into a 5ft frame,” the actress, 61, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 2. “Our mom, Helen Williams, aka Gaga to many, took her final bow in London 20 days after celebrating her 85th birthday surrounded by family and friends.”
She added, “It’s impossible to describe all she meant to everyone because each person saw a different facet of her. Loyal friend to many, icy stares to a chosen few. We will miss it all.”
Williams further revealed that her mom’s cause of death was “due to complications of acute liver failure.”
Helen saw her daughter’s performance in The Devil Wears Prada musical shortly before her death.Williams stars as Miranda Priestly in the London stage adaptation, a role made famous by Meryl Streep in the 2006 film.
“She had recently traveled to London for opening night of Devil Wears Prada The Musical in the West End and to celebrate her 85th birthday party surrounded by 150 of her family and friends,” Williams added in her statement. “During her visit, she suffered a major decline in health, which ended her life.”
Helen is survived by the Ugly Betty alum, as well as son Christopher, 57, and multiple grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Milton, who died in 2006 after a battle with pancreatitis.
It was later announced that Williams will no longer perform at a selection of Devil Wears Prada shows later this month.
“Due to a sudden loss in her family, Vanessa Williams will not be appearing from Wednesday 8th to Wednesday 15th January,” a statement on the show’s official social media page read. “During this time, the role of Miranda Priestly will be played by Debbie Kurup. Vanessa will return to TheDevil Wears Prada from Thursday 16th January.”
Williams reshared the casting news via her Instagram Story on Friday, January 3.
Williams was particularly close to her mother, with the pair coauthoring the 2012 memoir You Have No Idea: A Famous Daughter, Her No-Nonsense Mother, and How They Survived Pageants, Hollywood, Love, Loss (and Each Other).
“I had two parents and a family that always supported me. Support is very important and when they saw that I had the desire to pursue a career in the arts, I received the proper training,” Williams told Forbes at the time. “I danced my entire life. I was a musician. I acted and went to musical theater. The preparation is what gave me the skills that gave me longevity in this career. Follow your dreams, but it’s also nice to have a family that supports your dreams instead of saying, ‘Get a real job.’”
Helen joined Williams for the interview, gushing that one of her favorite memories was attending her daughter’s Broadway debut in 1994 “because that was something that she had always wanted to do all of her life.”
Halsey and Avan Jogia are no longer hiding their love. The couple is Instagram official and has no problem packing on the PDA.
The duo first sparked romance rumors in September 2023 when they were photographed packing on the PDA during a night out in Los Angeles, according to photos obtained by Page Six at the time.
That same month, Us Weekly confirmed that things between Halsey (whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) and Jogia were “getting more serious” as they continued to hang out.
“Halsey and Avan are spending a lot of time together,” a source told Us in September 2023. “He’s been with her day and night. While she’s working or with her son, Avan’s been there to support her. He even goes on errands and coffee runs. They seem like a good team.”
The following month, Halsey hard-launched their relationship with Jogia when attending the Luis De Javier fashion show in October 2023. They uploaded a series of Instagram photos, two of which included Jogia.
In the first image, the two were standing next to each other holding hands, Halsey also had their hand in his pocket. In a second picture, Jogia had his arm around Halsey as they posed in matching outfits.
Later that month, the couple proved they were going strong with matching Halloween costumes.
Halsey and Jogia’s relationship came after the “Nightmare” singer split from longtime boyfriend Alev Aydin, whom they started dating in 2019. Usconfirmed in April 2023, that Halsey had filed for full custody of their son, Ender, who was born in July 2021. Halsey sought joint legal custody and visitation rights for their ex, court documents show. The former flames eventually reached an amicable custody arrangement.
Despite the breakup, and the singer’s new relationship, there’s no bad blood between Halsey and Alev. A source told Us in September 2023 that they were “getting along and coparenting well,” during an outing that same month.
That being said, Halsey seems happy with Jogia. Keep scrolling for a timeline of their whirlwind romance:
June 2023
While romance rumors didn’t start swirling until months later, eagle-eyed fans spotted Halsey and Jogia on vacation in Barcelona, Spain.
September 2023
When the duo were photographed packing on the PDA during a date night in L.A., the relationship speculation started.
That same month Us obtained photos of Jogia leaving Halsey’s home amid the budding romance. A source told Us that Jogia showed Halsey a lot of “support.”
October 2023
Halsey and Jogia took things to the next level by making their relationship Instagram official. The couple dressed up as a siren and sailor for Halloween and showed off their look. “Here is a lighthouse in the middle of the deep,” Halsey captioned photos of the costume, referencing the lyrics to their song “Lighthouse.”
May 2024
Jogia and Halsey enjoyed a night out in Los Angeles to attend the 2024 Gold Gala, which celebrates Asian and Pacific Islander representation in entertainment. The couple rocked coordinating Sabyasachi ensembles.
September 2024
One day after walking the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet solo, Halsey seemingly confirmed that she and Jogia had gotten engaged. Resharing an X post which read, “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” she corrected the tweet by writing, “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”
October 2024
Halsey shared details about Jogia’s “really sweet” proposal during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“He proposed in Barcelona,” she told host Alex Cooper. “It’s kind of where we first started hanging out, so it’s really special to us. … Immediately afterwards [he] left to go shoot a show for, like, six months in Canada, and I was like, ‘OK, bye.’”
Halsey then recalled that she “wasn’t sure that [she] was ready” for a relationship when she and Jogia first started hanging out in Barcelona, even though he was the “most amazing, smartest, hottest, nicest person [I’d] ever met in my life.”
Despite her initial reservations, Jogia went on to become Halsey’s ideal partner and changed her perspective on marriage.
“I never wanted to be married,” Halsey said. “[But with] Avan … I just knew I wanted to marry him.”
January 2025
Jogia shared a glimpse of the couple on a romantic getaway, writing via Instagram, “Happy new year To my future wife.”
Jack Nicholson has welcomed six children with five women over the years — but he has only publicly commented on four of them.
Throughout his time in the spotlight, Jack has only married once. He and Sandra Knight tied the knot in 1962 and welcomed daughter Jennifer Nicholson the following year. Once their divorce was finalized in 1968, The Departed actor allegedly had a fling with his Five Easy Pieces costar Susan Anspach that resulted in the birth of his second child, Caleb Goddard. Jack, however, has not publicly acknowledged his paternity.
The Something’s Gotta Give star moved on with Danish supermodel and actress Winnie Hollman, whom he dated for five years. The pair welcomed daughter Honey Hollman in 1982.
Jack’s relationship with American actress Rebecca Broussard is one of his more public romances. The twosome had an affair during his 17-year relationship with Anjelica Huston, which led to the arrival of their first child together, daughter Lorraine Nicholson, in 1990. Two years later, Jack welcomed son Ray Nicholson with Broussard. The duo called it quits in 1993.
Tessa Gourin — who was born to waitress Jennine Gourin in 1994 — has claimed that Jack is her biological father, sharing in a 2023 interview that she never knew her dad growing up. The actor has not confirmed his paternity.

Billy Baldwin and Chynna Phillips have experienced a few bumps in their relationship over the years.
The actor and the Wilson Phillips singer met in 1991 before boarding a flight to New York. Phillips recalled in 2021 that Baldwin asked her out when they arrived at baggage claim. They tied the knot four years later. Baldwin and Phillips went on to expand their family with their three children: Jameson, Vance and Brooke, who arrived in 2000, 2001 and 2004, respectively.
While the early years of their marriage were seemingly joyful, the couple experienced their first rough patch in 2010 when Phillips filed for divorce. Days later, she withdrew the paperwork and decided to give her marriage another chance.
More than a decade later, Phillips revealed that she and Baldwin endured a lengthier separation at one point in their relationship.
“When Billy and I separated for six months and he was out of the house, I was holding on to anger and resentment because I felt it made me justified,” the musician said in a January 2024 YouTube livestream. “It made me feel like I was right, he was wrong, and it gave me this justification, this feeling of righteousness, this pride.”

The twosome completed their family with daughter Brooke.
2010
After nearly two decades of marriage, Phillips filed for divorce from Baldwin. The Grammy nominee withdrew the papers a few days later, and the couple subsequently reconciled.
“I started to feel a little flatlined, like I need more and want more, and I know we deserve more from our marriage,” Phillips exclusively told Us Weekly about why she decided to file. “It became so about the children and so about my business, his business, and I missed him. I really missed him. I missed laughing together, taking our little vacations together.”
Phillips explained that she reached a point where she felt “hopeless” that things between her and Baldwin would ever change. The pair decided to work on their relationship, however, and Phillips credited “working in therapy together” and making more time to communicate with helping them resolve their issues.
September 2023
Ahead of their 28th wedding anniversary, the pair shared that they were struggling to connect after their kids moved out of the house.
“Billy and I are having serious empty nest syndrome and we are hitting walls when it comes to finding joint interests! It’s a scary reality that we both feel uncomfortable admitting,” Phillips said in a YouTube video. “We’re trying to remain hopeful that we can have a meeting of minds and find activities that we both find stimulating.”
January 2024
Phillips confessed that she believes her interest in religion has led to a “power struggle” between her and Baldwin.
“I’ve been with Billy for 32 years, and we have an awesome marriage, but we definitely had the hardest couple years of our lives,” Phillips said in a YouTube livestream. “I think it’s because I just took the deep dive into Jesus, and I think he didn’t quite know what to do with that.”
She also shared that embracing her faith has made her a different person than she was when the duo first met.
“I’m not the same person I was 30 years ago, and I refused to have the same marriage that we had 30 years ago,” Phillips explained. “It’s time for us to mature and grow. He was on board, but I think that for him it was also like, ‘Well, you’re not into the things that I’m into.’”
April 2024
Phillips revealed that a recent rough patch in her marriage to Baldwin came after she made a cross-country move. She noted in a YouTube video that they were “getting on each other’s last nerve” during a trip from the East to West Coast before being able to have a “normal conversation.”
Phillips explained that sometimes things get “frustrating because just when I feel like we’re on a roll and things are starting to get better, we start the bickering again.” However, it seemed they’ve gotten to a place with “effective communication.”
“It was definitely a victory for us because we have a tendency to just sort of spiral and the communication breakdown gets worse and worse and we’re off to the races,” she added. “Billy’s my life partner. He’s the one I want to have the healthiest relationship with. But sometimes I don’t. A lot of times I don’t because I don’t want to rock the boat, or I don’t want to put him in a bad mood, or I’m walking on eggshells.”
Despite the progress in their relationship, Phillips admitted she still never wants to “trigger” Baldwin.
“The truth is that me having that fear is keeping us from true intimacy, because it’s preventing me from opening up to him and I’m trying to guard his feelings and yet I’m causing more trouble in our marriage by doing that,” she explained. “I’m shooting myself in the foot.”
November 2024
Phillips revealed in a YouTube video that the couple started living in separate houses but hadn’t broken up.
“Billy and I are sort of in this new kind of arrangement that is actually really working for me. I don’t know if it’s working for Billster, but I’m very happy with what we’re doing,” Phillips said in the clip. “I just really felt like, where in the Bible does it say that I have to live under the same roof 24/7 with my husband? Can you please find me that scripture?”
Phillips clarified that she and Baldwin still often meet up for date nights, therapy sessions and more.
“We enjoy each other’s company. That’s what is so hard to articulate to people: that we’re madly in love, we really enjoy being around one another, we cherish our marriage, we don’t ever want to separate,” she explained. “We just need a little bit of time apart because we are sort of an allergy to one another. And it’s OK, I’m sure lots of different couples are allergies to each other.”
December 2024
One month after the pair publicly detailed their separate living arrangements, they had a change of heart.
“At that time I felt like I needed a little bit of space and really felt like that would be the most logical answer, but I have reneged,” Phillips said in a December 29 YouTube video. “I am retracting that comment, and I am now saying that is probably a very foolish, very unwise, very destructive, stupid decision because that’s not going to solve our problem with the allergy.”
The singer gushed that she and Baldwin were in a “way better place” now that they started cohabitating again.
“It’s being kind and gentle … and being more playful,” she explained. “I need more playfulness in my life, and I feel like Billy sometimes struggles with playfulness, but you know what? He’s not me, and I have to grow up and I have to realize that just because Billy is not always as playful as I consider myself to be, that is not something that I need to come down on him for.”
Florence Pugh is not only a skilled actress but a fearless style star.
Through the years, Pugh has graced Us with memorable fashion moments — some of which she’s made headlines for. In July 2022, theBritish actressnailed theBarbiecore trend when she attended the Valentino Haute Couture fashion show ina hot pink halter dress. Though Pugh stunned in the whimsical tulle number, she was criticized because her nipples were visible through the sheer fabric.
Pugh, however, didn’t let the trolls get her down. “Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing,” the Marvel star wrote via Instagram. “I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn’t before, during or even now after. What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see.”
She continued: “Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14.”

Caelynn and Dean Bell’s 2025 vision board includes expanding their family.
“We are trying to start a family,” Caelynn, 29, said in a YouTube vlog posted on Thursday, January 2. “It’s on the vision board, which might be weird. I don’t know if that’s considered a goal because we are actively trying. It’s just harder to make a baby than I thought it would be.”
She added, “I know everyone says that, ‘No, I’m gonna get pregnant so easily.’ My mom got pregnant so fast with all of her kids. I was like, ‘That’s gonna be me too.’”
According to Caelynn, she has learned that “ovulation is tricky.”
“I’m still figuring all that out,” the Bachelor in Paradise alum added. “I did get Mira. I also finally got in with the OB in January, but I got this Mira [Fertility Tracker] device. So, you plug in the tester, pee on a stick and it tells you your [luteinizing hormone] LH levels. I was peeing on the other sticks that show lines and I was having such a hard time. I was like, ‘When am I ovulating?’ This, I’m still figuring it out.”
One of Caelynn’s friends had used the same Mira device and got pregnant within a month.
“But, that’s not the case for me,” she quipped. “Should I be sharing this?”
Caelynn, who was one of Colton Underwood’s final four contestants on season 23 of The Bachelor in 2019, met 33-year-old Dean on Bachelor in Paradise season 6. They left the show early to travel the world together in his camper van. After three years together, Dean and Caelynn proposed to each other.
By that point, they were both already wearing commitment rings.
“I’m committed to Caelynn and only Caelynn. And that’s why I’ve been wearing it for the past six or so months,” Dean said on a 2020 episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! “It’s our way of telling the world or the people that we’re around that we’re committed to each other. I think it’s one of those comforting things where you can wake up in the morning and see your partner wearing that ring and be like, ‘OK, yes, they know that I’m committed to them and vice versa.’”
“He started wearing a hair tie around his ring finger, just to fight women off,” she gushed to then-host Chris Harrison. “And I liked the idea. And then we just talked about getting rings. It’s just nice to know that we’re in a strong, committed relationship without necessarily having to get the government involved, as Dean likes to say.”
Dean and Caelynn tied the knot in September 2023, opting to change their last names to Bell in honor of Dean’s late mother. (Bell was her maiden name.)
Us Weekly is celebrating the stars who are changing the conversation when it comes to body standards.
“Body image and body positivity have become major buzzwords and part of the cultural conversation,” Lexie Kite, Ph.D. and coauthor of More Than a Body: Your Body Is an Instrument, Not an Ornament, tells Us in the latest issue of Us.
Hollywood has played a part in that too, thanks to stars who’ve embraced the movement rather than the unrealistic body goals of the past. And even though Zoë Bisbing, LCSW, director of Body-Positive Therapy NYC, admits there’s “definitely better representation of diverse body types now” compared to the waif-like ideals of the ’90s, the work isn’t finished. “Positive body image isn’t believing your body looks good — it’s knowing your body is good, regardless of how it looks.”
These celebs are leading the way:
LIZZO
‘My Body Is Nobody’s Business’
The “Good as Hell” singer’s health journey has both impressed and polarized her fan base. After years of proudly flaunting a fuller figure, Lizzo, 36, has been showing off her recent weight loss — which she credits to switching up her diet and weight training — on social media. “2021 me would be soooo proud of 2024 me,” the cocreator of Yitty by Lizzo shapewear and swimwear proudly wrote on Instagram in August. Critics accused her of turning her back on fat acceptance and body positivity and of using Ozempic. (She denies taking the weight-loss medication but did cheekily use the popular drug as inspiration for this year’s Halloween costume.) Despite the haters, Lizzo is committed to working on her mind, body and soul — and doing it for herself. “I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they’re doing is to be thin,” she said. Ultimately, she added, “my body is nobody’s business.”
The Takeaway Losing — or gaining — weight is not at odds with body neutrality. “If we really believe our bodies are instruments for our own use and experience, not ornaments to be admired, that means we need to trust people to make the right choices for their own bodies as we trust ourselves to do the same,” Kite tells Us. “Health is personal.”
FLORENCE PUGH
You Don’t Wake Up Like This
Florence Pugh is known for showing up and showing out on red carpets, but the Don’t Worry Darling star, 29, doesn’t wake up flawless and isn’t afraid to admit it. “There’s no pretending with me,” she’s said. “When I put on makeup and step into a wonderful dress, I give credit to the people that made me look like that, and I also want my fans to know that a) I don’t look like that all the time and b) I also have stress acne, and I also have hairy eyebrows, and I also have greasy hair.” And to those who critique her body: “It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f— it and f— that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive,” she wrote on Instagram.
The Takeaway “In addition to photo editing and filters as an industry standard… it is so vital for media consumers to be aware of the time, effort, money and pain that goes into qualifying to be on screen at all,” Kite says. “We applaud every celebrity and influencer who tells the truth about what it takes to be ‘camera-ready.’” Actress and fitness guru Brooke Burke agrees. “No one should feel pressure to look a certain way, but I’m realistic in knowing that we all do it, even those of us who know 99 percent of what we see in photos has been airbrushed and hundreds of dollars have been paid to the magical makeup artists and hairstylists that can make us look like a million dollars even on our worst days.”
CELESTE BARBER
Promoting Body Positivity Through Parody
It’s been 10 years since comedian Celeste Barber began posting videos and photos parodying celebrity images. The pics quickly went viral. “I found it hilarious that heavily curated, Photoshopped images being posted on social media were being sold to us as ‘normal,’” Barber, 42, tells Us. “When I saw these edited photos of influencers posing on a yacht drinking green juice with the caption ‘just dropping the kids off at school,’ I realized I could do something with it. I knew it would be funny, but did I think that 10 years later, people would still be loving it? No.” Her 9.6 million followers — including some of the subjects of her posts — beg to differ! “Most of the people that I parody love it. It’s great, they’re in on the joke,” the Booie Beauty founder says. While images of unattainable bodies are the fodder for her comedy, Barber is aware of the damage they can do. Her advice? “Unfollow accounts that make you feel s— about yourself,” she says. “I’ve unfollowed a handful of accounts recently and I feel better for it. You have to be active in who you follow, or it will seep in and mess with your head.”
RIHANNA
Bodies Fluctuate
You may know Rihanna for her unapologetic personality, but she’s also a fierce example of what it means to practice self-compassion. The star, 36, has referred to her own shape as “fluctuating,” but she “accepts” it. And her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, is all about inclusivity, featuring models of every body type and offering bras in sizes 30A to 46DDD. The Fenty mastermind continues to embrace the current stage she’s at. “Winter body workout,” she playfully captioned an October 30 Instagram post of her playing with sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 16 months.
The Takeaway Don’t give in to unrealistic expectations, especially if you’re a new mom. “Given the size fluctuations women frequently experience postpartum, I suggest they listen to their bodies, not the tag,” says body acceptance advocate and wellness expert Katie Sturino, who’s teamed up with Stitch Fix. According to the online styling service, “45 percent of people experience added stress when navigating a significant size change.” And when it comes to picking out an outfit, the expert is on board with Rihanna: “I believe clothes are not for hiding; they’re for self-expression!”
NICOLA COUGHLAN
‘A Cracking Pair of Boobs!’
Nicola Coughlan has been praised for her portrayal of Penelope Featherington, but the Bridgerton star has left a lasting impression for more than her acting chops. After years of being body-shamed, Coughlan, 37, turned the tables, opting to take charge of the narrative. In May, she revealed she advocated for a nude scene, explaining, “I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f—ing hot I looked!’” Responding to someone who called her brave, the recent Skims campaign star said: “I have a cracking pair of boobs. There’s nothing brave about that, that’s actually just me showing them off.”
The Takeaway Be unapologetically proud of your body. If you’re having trouble getting there, “cultivating a compassionate self-talk that gets you out of your head and into your senses can help,” Bisbing says. Charlotte H. Markey, Ph.D, professor of psychology at Rutgers University and author of The Body Image Book series, agrees: “Remind yourself that you’re hot — and that your hotness is just one small part of who you are.”
EVA LONGORIA
Exercise for Mental Health
For Eva Longoria, working out is truly about self-care. The actress, 49, has long valued exercise for its mental health benefits, calling it a “part of [her] life.” The Desperate Housewives alum’s passion began during her college days at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she led aerobics classes and studied kinesiology, a science that focuses on human movement while examining the mind-body connection. So, whether the star’s lifting weights, practicing yoga or bouncing on a trampoline, she’s ultimately breaking a sweat to boost energy and enhance her emotional well-being. “I don’t really do it for vain reasons,” she said. She also prioritizes physical activity to support longevity: “I’m doing everything, not because I don’t want to age but because I do want to age.”
The Takeaway A question that helps promote a healthy relationship with exercise: “Is there anything I can do today to do my future self a favor?” Sturino shares. This shifts the attention to the long-term benefits. “[It’s not about] how you look in a swimsuit or how your jeans fit,” she adds. “Instead, I’ve framed exercise through the lens of strength.”
KESHA
Standing Strong
For Kesha, body shaming is so “Blah Blah Blah.” After starring in a PSA for the National Eating Disorders Association, she looked back on recovering from an eating disorder with the help of therapy and creating new routines. “Knowing that I don’t count any calories, I don’t know what my pant size is and I don’t weigh myself is so beautiful,” she said. The singer, 37, honors her body — “I am a strong, badass, motherf—ing woman, and quite frankly, I like my junk” — and she’s not having it when critics share their unsolicited opinions. “I am so proud of my body. She’s been through a lot. She’s torn her ACL on stage and finished the show. She’s held my… broken heart together,” she wrote via Instagram.
The Takeaway Celebrate your body for what it can do. “Focusing on functionality is important to body image improvement,” says Markey. Having a tough time getting there? Burke recommends “I AM” meditations (a combination of yoga, pranayama and meditation) to develop positive inner dialogue, personal strength and appreciation: “Your body is listening to your thoughts and words.”
ARIANA GRANDE
There Are Different Ways to Look Healthy
Ariana Grande is no stranger to body shaming. But now, the Wicked star, 31, has had enough. While promoting the film, she opened up about the “horrible” comments made about her, noting that she’s been “a specimen in a petri dish, really, since I was 16 or 17.” It’s not the first time the “Thank U, Next” singer has addressed her critics. “There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful,” she told her 37 million TikTok followers last year. “[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider ‘my healthy.’” Despite her pleas, Grande’s figure has continued to be a topic of discussion — but she does her best to block out the noise. “I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on,” she said. “It’s not invited, so I don’t leave space for it anymore.”
The Takeaway Keep your opinions to yourself — what you may think is a compliment could be harmful. “The biggest problem with body comments/shaming is that we never know what the impact of our [words] is going to be on the person we are talking about,” Bisbing tells Us. “Body comments increase body consciousness — and body consciousness is directly linked to negative body image.”
SELENA GOMEZ
It’s OK to Be Me
After being in the spotlight for over two decades, Selena Gomez has learned to speak up. The Emilia Pérez star, 32, clapped back at the haters who posted negative comments regarding her appearance at the film’s November premiere. “This makes me sick,” she wrote. “I have [SIBO] in my small intestine [small intestine bacterial overgrowth]. It flares up… End of story. I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.” Earlier in the year, Gomez shared words of wisdom with her fans: “I’m not perfect, but I am proud to be who I am… Sometimes I forget it’s OK to be me…,” she said. “Yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s—, but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself.”
The Takeaway On days you don’t feel confident, Sturino suggests practicing gratitude “to get your brain in the mind frame of what’s important.” She recommends crafting “a confidence capsule”: an assortment of clothes that boost your mood. It’s the perfect reference to “remind yourself that you look great,” she adds, “and that you have dependable outfits to make you feel empowered.”
CODY RIGSBY
Finding the Right Balance
There are more than 74,000 posts on TikTok about #BodyNeutrality, a concept defined as having a neutral stance on your body — i.e., not loving it, not hating it, just appreciating it for what it does. According to Cody Rigsby, who’s gained a loyal following because of his empowering Peloton cycling classes, it’s possible to be both body neutral and committed to staying healthy. “Start from that foundation of knowing that you don’t need to change anything [about yourself],” the fitness instructor, 37, tells Us. “Tap into yourself and hone in on the things that are important to you, which may be having more energy or feeling strong.” Trying to rewire your brain to appreciate your body may seem daunting at first, but the Tactful Pettiness podcast host knows the perfect place to start: “Have gratitude for what you can do today — because you don’t know what things are going to be in your way in the future.”
ILONA MAHER
Strength = Beauty
For Ilona Maher, body positivity is about appreciation. “[It’s] realizing what your body does for you and giving it the tools it needs to continue doing that,” the Olympian rugby player tells Us. The Vermont native, 28, is like the internet’s supportive sister with the uplifting messages she shares on social media, and she makes a point to keep it real. “You’re not going to love your body all the time,” she admits. “[But] for a lot of us, that’s the size we’re supposed to be, and I think we have to come to terms with that.” The athlete continues to disrupt unfair standards and stereotypes in her male-driven sport, whether by rocking her signature red lip on the field or challenging weight comparisons. She once clapped back: “[We] are not known for our thigh gaps in rugby — and we don’t want to be!”
The TAKEAWAY “Maher doesn’t try to fit into the beauty ideals that many of us feel beholden to,” Markey tells Us. “Her pride in her strength is wonderful to see. We need more messengers that say ‘F what is expected of me as a woman! I am strong and tough and don’t need to fit into any mold.’ The more people who say this, the easier it will be for us to believe.” Adds Kite: “Seeing women be powerful and strong and break free from the notion that we exist to be looked at is life-giving!”
SABRINA CARPENTER
Words Matter
When you’re a pop sensation like Sabrina Carpenter with access to some of the best glam squads in the business — it’s hard to imagine you would ever feel anything but confident. But the Grammy nominee, 25, admits she has her good and bad days. “Some days you feel like truly borderline so conceited and obnoxiously confident and then all it takes is like someone saying one thing that strikes a chord in you to be like, ‘I’m actually the ugliest person to ever exist,’” the “Espresso” singer said. “And then it kinda is a big flip flop. But I think for me, I just feel like I have better things to worry about than the way that I look.”
The TAKEAWAY Carpenter’s coping strategies may seem easier said than done, but Sturino shares a unique and fun fix for moments you don’t feel hot. “I’ll look to my go-to style icons on social media for inspiration,” she tells Us. “I’ve made sure my [Instagram] feed is curated to include stylish, empowering women with diverse body shapes and sizes. Seeing others confidently rocking different styles can boost your own confidence.”

It’s been over a year since Flipping Out alum Trace Lehnhoffjoined OnlyFans, and he doesn’t regret the career move.
During a Thursday, January 2, Instagram Story Q&A, Lehnhoff, 37, was asked how he feels knowing that OnlyFans subscribers have seen him strip down and have sex with fiancé Miles McMillan.
“[It’s] exciting and empowering,” he candidly replied. “I didn’t anticipate the community there. Walls come down and people tend to speak more freely. I chat directly with all of my ‘fans.’ I’ve learned so much from so many.”
Lehnhoff, an interior designer who used to show off his artistic skills on Flipping Out, joined the subscription platform in 2023.
“I launched my OnlyFans today. Come say hi, I’ll keep it fun there,” he wrote via Instagram in September 2023.
Lehnhoff has continued to work as an interior designer and architect despite his newfound career, further clapping back at any judgment of still doing both.
“If someone judges it, I just don’t think they really get it,” Lehnhoff wrote in a follow-up Instagram Story post on Thursday. “It’s one thing if it isn’t for them, but to judge, it seems closed-minded.”
He added, “I’d say most of us all do it, I’m just sharing some of my experiences and from my POV. I know wayyyy too many colleagues who I respect that like and support it — and that easily outweighs those who judge.”
Despite Lehnhoff being open on OnlyFans, he is still “pretty reserved” in his daily life.
“I keep to myself a lot and I am always observing,” he wrote later on Thursday. “When I say something, I mean it and I’m thoughtful about what I say to people [who] are close to me. I keep my circle small because each person in it, I try to give my all and I never want to compromise myself with people [who] are dear to me. So, I am proud about how I show my love to the people I love.”
For instance, Lehnhoff can depend on 35-year-old fiancé McMillan. They got engaged in June 2023.
“I’ve gotten so many encouraging and kind comments about this,” Lehnhoff captioned another Thursday post when asked about their monogamous relationship. “I support whatever works in anyone’s relationship. This is what works and what I love about ours.”
Prior to his relationship with McMillan, Lehnhoff dated Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski in 2018 and broke up in August 2019.
The Pretty Little Liars alum, 35, took to Instagram on Thursday, January 2, to celebrate her milestone. She shared a screenshot of a sobriety app telling her that she has been sober for three years — which is equivalent to 1,097 days or 26,312 hours.
In a second snap, Hale pictured herself sitting on a brick wall overlooking a body of water with her back to the camera as she stared contemplatively into the distance.
“Damn. 3 years ago today, I began my journey in remembering who I am,” Hale captioned her post. “Since then, I’ve experienced moments that can only be described as pure miracles and magic. I am deeply grateful every day—for the people who have been guiding lights, for a power greater than myself that loves me unconditionally, and for my own perseverance in not giving up. To all of you who have supported my journey, I have felt your love and it means everything to me.”
“I made the choice on the morning of January 2, 2022, that I was going to do everything I could to get sober,” she told People. “I knew if I continued on that path, I would’ve lost everything I cared about. It was the scariest choice in my life, but also it’s been the best gift. When I made that change, everything else changed. My whole life has changed.”
Hale was 32 at the time and first began drinking at the age of 18.
“Since a very young age, I always felt alone and misunderstood,” she said. “So as a teenager, I found alcohol — which of course shut my brain off. And it worked for me for a while, until it turned really dark.”
According to the actress, she felt “powerless to this obsession” despite a willingness to stop drinking.
“I definitely had to go through my own process of getting sober,” she told the outlet. “It took many, many, many years, many relapses, many dark moments, many falling on my face quite literally, but figuratively as well, to figure out what was working in my life, finding out why I was drinking, because removing alcohol is just one part of it.”
Hale first opened up about her efforts to get sober in February 2023 after quietly celebrating one year of sobriety the month prior, explaining via Instagram, “While this journey has mostly been private, I felt compelled tonight to let anyone who is struggling know that you are not alone and you are loved.”
Hale later said she was “a textbook binge drinker” while reflecting on her decision to stop using alcohol.
“I have been working on getting sober since I was 20. I’m 33. It takes time. It took time. It took patience with myself,” she said on “The Diary of a CEO” podcast in February 2023, admitting she thought the “real Lucy” came out when she drank. “Guess what? Real Lucy did come out, but it was that rage and pain that I had been holding on to for so long, but it also quieted my mind. My brain just doesn’t shut off, and it’s exhausting.”

On Thursday, January 2, Judge Analisa Torres of the Southern District of New York granted a request from the rap mogul’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, to file a motion to dismiss the case on procedural grounds, per court documents shared via X by legal affairs journalist Meghann M. Cuniff.
Spiro argued in a Monday, December 30, letter to Judge Torres that the woman suing Jay-Z cannot make a claim against the rapper (real name Shawn Carter) under New York City’s Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act law because it only came into effect after she alleges she was assaulted by Jay-Z.
In her lawsuit, the woman — identified only as “Jane Doe” — claimed she was raped by Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in September 2000 when she was just 13. (Both stars have denied the allegations.) The NYC law offering civil recourse to victims of gender-motivated violence came into effect in December that year. (It was amended in December 2022 to allow a two-year window for people to come forward with historical claims that might have otherwise passed the statute of limitations.)
According to Judge Torres’ decision Thursday, Jay-Z’s lawyer has been granted permission to file a motion to dismiss the case by February 6. Jane Doe’s attorneys will then have until February 28 to file opposition papers. Jay-Z has a chance to reply by March 14.
“Plaintiff cannot recover for her sole claim under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act (the GMV Law), as a matter of law, because the statute does not have retroactive effect,” Spiro wrote in a letter to Judge Torres on Monday.
He continued, “Plaintiff asserts a violation of the GMV Law for conduct that purportedly occurred in September 2000. But the GMV Law was not enacted until December 19, 2000, three months after the FAC claims the conduct occurred, and cannot apply retroactively to create a cause of action unavailable to Plaintiff at the time in question.”
Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, wrote a letter to Judge Torres on Tuesday, December 31, opposing Jay-Z’s request to file for dismissal. Buzbee wrote that “Defendant’s argument as to the GMVA is unpersuasive, as it is contrary to the law’s primary intention: to make it easier for victims of gender-motivated violence to seek civil remedies in court—not, as Defendant would have it, make it harder,” per a court document shared by Cuniff on Thursday.
Last week, Judge Torres said in court documents obtained by TMZ that Jane Doe can remain unnamed as she refused Jay-Z’s first attempt to have the lawsuit dismissed and Doe’s identity revealed. However, the judge noted the circumstances could change as the case moves forward. Torres stated she intends to revisit the issue if and when the case progresses.
Doe’s attorney, Buzbee, and Jay-Z are also locked in their own legal battle. Jay-Z is suing Buzbee, accusing him of extortion and defamation. Buzbee filed his own suit against Jay-Z’s Roc Nation earlier this month, alleging the company bribed his clients to file suits against his firm, threatened former clients and impersonated state officials. (Roc Nation called the lawsuit “baloney.”)
The Guardians of the Galaxy actress, 37, took to Instagram on Thursday, January 2, to reveal that she welcomed her first child with husband Nick Kocher at the tail-end of 2024.
“2024 thank you for giving us Clementine ,” Gillan shared alongside a series of cute photos revealing baby Clementine for the first time. In one pic, the Scotland-born actress is seen holding her newborn, who sweetly rests her head on her mom’s shoulder. Another photo shows Kocher holding Clementine. A third photo shows the new parents holding mugs that read, “Best Dad Ever” and “Best Mom Ever.”
Gillan continued in her caption, “Also as per the last slide – I shot a film called ‘Let’s Have Kids’ right as I got preggo in real life so take that Daniel Day-Lewis.” The last slide of Gillan’s post shows her on the set of the movie, sitting at the foot of the bed of a person about to give birth.
The former Doctor Who star debuted her baby bump last September during the red carpet premiere of her film, The Life of Chuck, at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The actress wore a yellow bodycon dress and cradled her stomach as she posed for photographs at the Prince of Wales Theatre alongside her Life of Chuck costars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tom Hiddleston.
Gillan married Kocher in May 2022 when the couple secretly tied the knot at Castle Toward in Scotland.
During a 2023 appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, Gillan revealed that she met her husband through social media, saying that the “algorithm” brought them together after seeing him via Instagram’s recommended friends list.
“I DMed him on Twitter saying, ‘Hi, your tweets are really funny. I’m Karen, by the way,’” the Guardians of the Galaxy star shared at the time. “It wasn’t very interesting. I hadn’t really read his tweets.”
For the most part, the couple has kept their relationship out of the public eye, though Gillan revealed in 2023 that she once attended a couples therapy appointment in her full Nebula makeup while filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters Friday, here’s a screenshot of the time I forgot I had scheduled a COUPLES THERAPY session on a day we were shooting,” the actress, who portrays the gruff, blue cyborg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wrote via X at the time.
In an interview with Allure published on Thursday, January 2, the Friends star, 55, was asked about her relationship with her body. “Well, we really love each other,” Aniston shared.
She continued, “We’ve got to love our bodies. It’s doing the best it can. It’s been with us since the day we started, so we can’t be too hard on it.”
“I was working on a movie and there was an older man on set. I’d seen him on a couple of different jobs and he was just working, working, working. I go, ‘You are impressive. I mean, you just never stop.’ And he said, ‘I just don’t let the old man in.’ There was something about that,” Aniston added.
The actress told Allure that she works out a minimum of four times a week, however, she didn’t always have such a healthy lifestyle.
“Of course, we’re all going to grow older, but how can we thrive as we grow older? And that is about giving your body the attention that it deserves,” Aniston said. “For me personally, I loved my 30s, but my 20s were nothing. I was a nightmare. I didn’t understand working out until my 30s and 40s.”
In addition to working out, The Morning Show star takes an 80-20 approach to indulgence.
“Eighty percent healthy living and then 20 percent is: Go have a martini, go have your pizza and burgers and stay up late with your friends. There’s a balance,” she said.
Aniston also shared her stance on aging as she enters her mid-50s.
“With positivity and gratitude,” she said of her approach to growing older. “I mean, we are still here. What’s the alternative? I’m trying not to think about growing older. I try not to think about age. The world will always be there telling us what your age is and what women should do in society when you’re this or that.”
She added, “I think we’re realizing how people are so impressionable. It’s like, ‘Okay, well if they say this happens at this age, that’s what happens at this age.’ But then you go, ‘No! Who’s making these rules?!’ Our muscles are going to go limp as we get older? No, let’s keep them strong. We can make our own rules. It’s all bulls–t.”
Kaley Cuoco had a special role to play in her little sister’s big day!
The Big Bang Theory star, 39, officiated the wedding between sister Briana Cuoco, 36, and Brian Logan Dales, 35, which took place on Tuesday, December 31 at the Cathedral of St. Vibiana in Los Angeles.
While mom Kaley was busy with her officiating duties, her 22-month-old daughter Matilda, whom the actress shares with Tom Pelphrey, acted as flower girl for her aunt’s big day.
Taking to social media, Kaley shared snaps from the special occasion via her Instagram on Thursday, January 2 and raved about her involvement.
“ The best NYE to date ” she captioned the post. “I got to marry my sis and her love , blend two amazing families together surrounded by our friends , a gorgeous environment , a kiss at midnight with the love of my life , and a perfect flower girl what a night to remember!”
Kaley also shared several posts via her Instagram Story, including adorable clips of herself and Pelphrey walking Matilda down the aisle in her flower girl attire.
Per ET, the cathedral that Briana and Dales tied the knot in was decorated with a “French museum” theme. Red lighting, 1,200 candles and Renaissance paintings projected onto the ceiling created the “dark and moody” vibe they were looking for.
There was a nod to New Year’s Eve during the wedding, with fireworks projected on to the ceiling as the clock changed to midnight.
Briana wore a Kim Kassas Couture corset-style strapless dress for the couple’s ceremony and changed into a Selkie mini-dress for her reception attire. Groom Dales, who is The Summer Set’s lead vocalist, wore a black double-breasted tuxedo for the big day.
Following the ceremony and reception, guests were treated to late-night dining from Taco Bell.
Kaley previously shared her joy about her sister’s relationship, announcing via her Instagram in September 2023 that her sibling was engaged.
“Engagement of the year!! we love you @bricuoco @brianlogandales !! Fam for life! congratulations!!!!!!!” Kaley wrote.
Over on her own Instagram account at the time, Briana shared photos of the proposal and captioned the post, “9.12.23 .”
Briana previously spoke about the close bond she shares with her sister and the rest of her family.
“My sister and my parents, we all have just forever and ever wanted to be rocks and supports for each other,” she told E! News in 2013. “Kaley is that for me and I am that for her, and it was incredible having her there at truly one of the best moments of my life. My parents are just the best people on the planet and they’re so happy for me.”
