Simpson, 44, confirmed their decision to part ways in a statement on Monday, January 13, which read, “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
A source confirmed to Us Weekly in November 2024 that Simpson and Johnson were “living separately” at the moment.
Meanwhile, a second insider revealed that Simpson and Johnson planned to spend the holidays as a family, adding, “Jessica and Eric plan on being all together for the holidays with the kids. It’s all about the kids and family. They don’t hate each other.”
Simpson and Johnson, 45, who share kids Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5, started dating in 2010 following their respective divorces from Nick Lachey and Keri D’Angelo. After six months together, Johnson proposed and they tied the knot in 2014.
Simpson previously opened up about her evolving dynamic with Johnson, exclusively telling Us in April 2022, “I don’t feel like our marriage has been long, but I feel like I’ve loved Eric my whole life. I guess the moment I met him, it felt like a marriage. We rarely fight. If we do, it’s more conversational, and it’s not like, ‘He’s right or she’s right.’ It’s not about winning.”
The singer gushed over her partnership with Johnson. “In terms of my marriage to Eric, I have never felt more myself or more free,” Simpson shared with Us in February 2020. “Eric and I have a true mind, body [and] soul connection. Some of the things he loves most about me are my flaws. I am most certainly in this marriage and this life with Eric by my side with free will!”

Not Wearing Their Rings
Simpson raised eyebrows in late 2023 when she was spotted without her wedding ring in several Instagram photos. The duo briefly quieted split speculation in April 2024 when they went on a family trip but by the end of the year, Simpson and Johnson were once again making public appearances without their respective wedding bands.
In November 2024, a third insider confirmed to Us that Simpson and Johnson were “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible.”
“They are both really committed to the wellbeing of the kids and trying to figure out what’s best for them,” the source added while a four insider said Simpson was “heartbroken” and it wasn’t an “easy decision” to make.
After taking a break from her music career, Simpson teased a “comeback” in November 2024 with photos of her in a recording studio.
“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she captioned an Instagram post at the time. “This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”
As Simpson continued to spend more time in Nashville (while her family is based in California), she teased a candid glimpse into her life, writing via social media, “I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul .”
Ashlee Dodges the Question
Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson Ross, had an awkward response when asked about the rumors by TMZ in November 2024. Seemingly trying to get out of the situation, the “Pieces of Me” singer mumbled “no” before opting not to answer any more questions about the speculation.
While Johnson isn’t active on social media, Simpson often shares highlights from her life. Her last post that prominently featured Johnson was posted in September 2023. (Simpson and Johnson’s last public outing was in summer 2024.)
“Eric turned 44 on Sept 15 and his family gave him all the love cells we have to celebrate his life. My heart is so taken with this Man, I could hardly call it my own,” she wrote. “We love youuuu. (he ain’t an Instagram guy, but I always think the more good wishes the better ).”
“I was talking to a doctor recently who inquired about my sex life, and I explained to her that I have no desire and I’m fine with it,” Shields, 59, wrote in her latest memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, published on Tuesday, January 14. “Turned out, she was not fine with it.”
Shields wrote that she “had a fervent sex drive” when she was younger. “But I never felt like I could step into that appetite in the way that I wanted to,” the actress added.
Shields detailed how losing her virginity, and in turn, having sex with previous boyfriends, impacted her relationship with her late mom, Teri Shields.
“My connection with my boyfriend was a personal affront to her, because having a man in my life in such a real way meant that she was losing me,” she wrote. “Oh, how I wish I’d just let the lust take over! But regrettably I was never able to do that.”
This has continued to play out in her marriage to Henchy, 60. (Shields and Henchy have been married since 2001. They share daughters Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18.)
“Here I am, more than thirty-five years later, sometimes pretending I’m asleep when I know Chris is in the mood,” Shields admitted in the book. “That has nothing to do with Chris —he’s hot! He’s been working out at a boxing gym recently, and he looks incredible.”
Shields explained to readers that her lack of sex drive comes alongside all the “bodily s—” that she has experienced as an aging woman. She also noted that pretending to be asleep is “not great” — but she’s working on that.
After telling the doctor about her lack of sex, Shields recalled being “on the receiving end of a lecture about how important sex is to a relationship.” The actress also admitted that because of a previous surgery, sex has become “painful.” (Shields told Us Weekly exclusively earlier this month about a plastic surgeon giving her a vaginal rejuvenation surgery without consent.)
“For me to fully enjoy sex at this point, I need my lotions and potions, the right sleepwear (maybe calling it sleepwear is contributing to the problem), my special pillow, and maybe a tequila so I can relax,” she wrote, noting “again” that Henchy is “not at all the problem.”
“Listen, there’s nothing wrong with using whatever you need!” she stated. “Whatever it takes.”
Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old is out now.
“So today, we have a full moon in Cancer at 23 degrees. Full moons represent peaks, heightened emotions, heightened everything,” the astrologer, 29, began in an Instagram Reel shared on Monday, January 13. “When the moon is full, she’s like, ‘Remember me? I had to go through all of these phases over the past month and work really hard and set intentions and follow through on them so that I could be here tonight sparkling, shining.’”
Lewber went on to note that “this full moon is offering us opportunities to be protective and nurturing, emotional and maybe even a little nostalgic” before explaining why she’s less than thrilled about the placement.
“This full moon is sitting right next to Mars, which is retrograde in Cancer right now,” she said. “Not my favorite placement, because the moon — which, again, is our emotions and safety — is sitting next to Mars, the planet of conflict and action. So this isn’t soothing or serene, but it is a moment to express our emotions or to vent or to just feel a sense of, ‘OK, I just need to address this thing that’s been bugging me,’ or, ‘OK, maybe I need to finally set some boundaries here.’”
She continued, “Basically, just be cautious of any irritants that might show up, and of course on a full moon always take time to at some point in the day to love yourself and be proud of how far you’ve come. Take an Epsom salt bath, journal, cry, feel the feelings, release the feelings and then give yourself a really big warm hug.”
Earlier this week, Lewber said this year would be a “transition,” astrology-wise. “We are moving into new territory that we haven’t experienced ever, or in a really long time,” she explained in a TikTok video on Sunday, January 12. “We’re all experiencing and cocreating a new reality together. So it’s really up to us on how we want to show up this year.”
She also encouraged her viewers to “expect change” in 2025, adding, “Remember that it is OK to feel, it’s great to feel. Again, we’re human. But it’s also nice to just remember that we are just in the process of change. There is still so, so, so much magic to look forward to this year.”
Lewber’s astrology analysis comes one month after Kennedy, 32, was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence after Burbank Police responded to a call “regarding an argument between a man and a woman.” A witness claimed they saw Kennedy allegedly grab a woman and throw her to the ground, but officers who responded to the scene reportedly did not see any visible injuries on the woman. Kennedy was later released on a $20,000 bond.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” Kennedy’s attorneys said in a statement to Us at the time. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
Days later, Lewber, who has been dating the Vanderpump Rules alum since 2022, broke her silence via Instagram Story, thanking “everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me.” She added, “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
According to an insider, Kennedy and Lewber are “still living apart but haven’t broken up” following his arrest. “James has been super focused on self-improvement and his sobriety and doing well,” the source said on Monday. “He’s been attending a schedule of meetings and support and taking it very seriously.”
If you or someone you know are experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were able to return home just in time for their daughter Esti’s second birthday.
“I’m feeling grateful to be back home,” Teigen, 39, wrote via Instagram Story on Monday, January 13, alongside a photo of a homemade cake. “This is all I could muster up for Esti’s birthday.”
The cake was decorated with chocolate frosting and multicolored sprinkles and featured two action figures of Esti’s favorite wrestler John Cena. In addition to Esti, Teigen and Legend, 46, share Luna, 8, Miles, 6, and Wren, 18 months.
Before Esti’s special day, the family was forced to evacuate their home amid the Los Angeles wildfires.
“This is surreal I’m very scared now. Packing,” Teigen wrote on Wednesday, January 8, as she prepared to go to a hotel with Legend and their children.
Wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades on January 7 and quickly spread throughout other parts of Los Angeles. Many celebrities who live in the area have offered updates about losing their homes and personal belongings. Others continue to evacuate the city amid the rapidly changing natural disaster.
Actor Milo Ventimiglia got emotional on Thursday, January 9, as he revealed that his home with wife Jarah Mariano, who is nine months pregnant, was completely destroyed.
“You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and whatnot and then you see your neighbor’s houses and everything kind of around and your heart just breaks,” he told CBS News. “It’s a kind of a shock moment where you go, ‘This is real, this is happening,’ and at a certain point, you just turn it off. What good is it to continue watching? We kind of accepted the loss.”
Ventimiglia, 47, acknowledged the parallel between his loss and his This Is Us character, Jack Pearson, who died from smoke inhalation after a slow cooker caused his family’s home to burn to the ground.
“You know, it’s not lost on me, life imitating art,” he added while reflecting on his personal next steps. “We got good friends and we got good people we’re working with and we’ll make do. Wife and baby and dog, most important.”
“This is the most valuable thing I own. It’s a folder of photos of my father, spanning his life from being a baby, an educator, a husband and a father. It’s the only evidence of his life that will exist over time,” he wrote via Instagram on Thursday alongside a photo of a folder. “These are the ‘documents’ you read about people taking from their homes. When you hear someone say they’ve lost everything in a fire, this is much of that everything, if not all of it.”
He continued: “Those who say they’ll be okay still have their folders and their albums. Those who are inconsolable have lost them. Just behind the immeasurable loss of life is the loss of the proof of life.”
“I don’t practice prayer but tonight I will say one for everyone who no longer has these items. It’s not about the art and the collectibles. It’s the photos, the letters, the class rings, the eyeglasses and the things we keep to remind us that those we loved were here,” he added. “May those who have lost so much find some semblance of hope and support from their family and friends. Stay safe, look out for yourself and for one another, and trust that humanity and all it entails, though sometimes hard to see, is alive and well. This is truly devastating.”

For her first public engagement of 2025, Princess Kate Middleton returned to the hospital where she underwent cancer treatment.
The Princess of Wales, 43, paid a visit to the staff and patients of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, January 14, during which she opened up about her own recovery journey. “You think treatment’s finished, crack on with that … daily tasks, but that’s still, like, a real challenge,” she said to staff members, per the Daily Mail. “And talking … the words totally disappear … understanding that as a patient, yes, there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long-term side effects.”
According to the outlet, Kate emphasized the power of “resilience” to one patient, stating: “It’s to keep coming back … to be as positive as you are. The treatments are really so different and so varied, it impacts families differently.”
Kate braved the winter weather in a brown plaid coat for her latest outing, which she wore on top of a simple and chic maroon long-sleeved dress. She completed the look with a matching maroon handbag.
Catherine, Princess of Wales talks with Katherine Field during a visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital on January 14, 2025 in London, England.
She was greeted by the hospital’s chief executive, Dame Cally Palmer, and chairman, Sir Douglas Flint. “I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it’s quite nice,” she said upon arrival, per Hello! magazine.
While speaking with more patients, one person reportedly told Kate that she’s “managed the children amazingly well” while dealing with her health issues, to which she replied, “Oh thanks … it’s just trying to do the best.” (Kate shares kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, with her husband, Prince William.)
Per Hello!, Kate also stated that cancer treatments “are really so different and varied, it impacts families differently.”
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace told multiple outlets on Tuesday that Kate “wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team, but also highlight the world leading care and treatment [that] Marsden provides.”
Kate’s visit to the hospital comes amid news that she and William, 42, have become joint patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. William, however, did not join his wife during her Tuesday visit.
“We were honored to welcome Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales to The Royal Marsden in Chelsea this morning, and are delighted that Her Royal Highness is now joining His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in becoming Joint Patrons of our specialist cancer center,” Palmer, 67, said in a Tuesday statement, per Hello! magazine.
She added: “We are incredibly fortunate to receive Royal Patronage – it is inspiring for staff and patients and enables us to shine a light on the outstanding work our staff deliver every day for patients and their families.”
One month after King Charles III announced his own cancer diagnosis, and following months of speculation, Kate revealed in March 2024 that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer. “We hope that you’ll understand that as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment,” she said in a video statement at the time. “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I’m able. But for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.”
In September 2024, Kate shared that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment but was still on a “long” road to recovery. “Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling,” she said in a video featuring new footage of herself, and William with their kids. “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
Josh Gad’s career is full of highs and lows — plus a lot of strange moments with A-list stars, at least according to his memoir, In Gad We Trust: A Tell-Some.
“It sort of became the theme of the book,” Gad, 43, told Us Weeklyexclusively while promoting the book, which was released on Tuesday, January 14. “In the face of adversity, how do you overcome obstacles in order to achieve bigger dreams than you could have set out for yourself? That has been the story of my life.”
Gad explained that he’s had “stumbles” during his rise to fame which have acted as “learning curves” throughout his career.
“I love failing because it gives me a platform to succeed,” he shared. “Don’t let others force you to give up on yourself. I think perseverance is as important as skill. Those two things together can be a very powerful elixir.”
Gad continued, “I didn’t love it at the time, certainly hated it — but rejection was as important to me and continues to be as important to me as acceptance. A part of it is, ‘F— me? F— you. I’m gonna prove you wrong.’”
Part inspirational story about success and part reflecting on his upbringing (Gad grew up with a single mother and absent father), his book offered moments of levity with some major name drops.
Keep scrolling for a breakdown of the celebrity encounters from Gad’s memoir:
Sharing the Classroom With the Stars
Gad went to high school in Florida where the early days of his acting career started. He wrote that Scott Weinger (Steve on Full House or the voice of Aladdin, depending on what generation you grew up in) was one of his “school heroes.”
When Gad went to Carnegie Mellon University, the actor discovered that he had shared the halls with other industry giants, including “a young nebbish boy from Southern California with a very rich singing voice named Josh Groban, a ferociously talented and fiercely confident kid from Philly named Leslie Odom Jr., and a fair-skinned Irish boy from Cleveland named Rory O’Malley.” Gad also noted that Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello were his “big brothers” at school.
Longtime Besties
Gad has been friends with Seth Gabel from childhood. Gabel, as some may know, went on to marryBryce Dallas Howard. Gad admittedly “hated” Howard when he first met her, but they became “lifelong friends” after one night where he wore her “pink fluffy bathrobe” all over New York City.
Couch-Surfing Roommates
At the beginning of his career, Gad would crash on Gabel and Howard’s couch in Los Angeles. He wrote that two others were also couch surfing: Katherine Waterston and Jeremy Strong, who Gad referred to as “an interesting recent Yale drama grad who was working as an apprentice to Daniel Day-Lewis.”
A Memorable Encounter With a Legend
Those same early years in Los Angeles brought “an exciting or thrilling moment” — one of which included Robert Downey Jr.
Gad wrote that he spotted the actor during a trip to The Coffee Bean in 2003. The pair spoke about Downey’s role in the movie Chaplin.
“I took a deep breath, tapped him on the shoulder, introduced myself, and for the next five minutes the two of us shared a beautiful and inspiring conversation about our admiration for one of the world’s great comedians,” Gad recalled, noting that he “felt so moved” by the interaction.
“As we approached the cashier, [Downey] suddenly turned to me and said: ‘Hey, I forgot my wallet. Do you mind covering this?’” Gad wrote.
Whose House Is This?
Gad wrote about meeting his friend at her boyfriend’s house, not knowing who owned the home.
“I rang the bell and a few seconds later my friend, dressed in a bathrobe, answered the door. Before I had time to ask why she was in a bathrobe, her boyfriend, the owner of this monstrous house, strolled up beside her in a matching bathrobe,” he wrote. “It was Jeff Goldblum.”
The trio “made small talk” until Goldblum started practicing a Meisner method acting exercise on Gad. “Why I was playing it with a robed Jeff Goldblum in his Mount Olympus home on a small uncomfortable cushion, I had and still have no idea,” Gad shared.
Tax Advice From Kelsey Grammer
Gad worked with Grammer on the 2007 series Back to You and the Frasier star once discussed the importance of being “a fiscal conservative” while they were on set.
“Emmy Award–winning actor Kelsey Grammer shared the virtues of paying less in taxes and encouraged me to join the cause (which for the record, had I not been brought up in a very liberal household, I probably would have run with because, well, money is really nice to keep once you’ve earned it),” Gad wrote, sharing that they have stayed “incredibly close” over the years.
‘The Artist Formerly Known as’ Kevin Spacey
Gad appeared alongside Spacey in the 2008 movie 21. While filming the movie, Spacey would take Gad out to dinner and “force” him into an “impression-off.” In an aside included in the memoir, Gad explained this was years before Spacey’s legal troubles. (The disgraced actor has faced multiple sexual assault allegations since 2017, which he has denied. He was acquitted of nine charges in July 2023.)
“It was such a strange thing,” Gad told Us about working with Spacey. “But also it felt like a sign of respect where he was really, I think, tickled by the fact that I could do voices.”
Harrison Ford Says No
Despite working on the 2008 movie Crossing Over with Ford, the Hollywood legend wouldn’t take a photo with Gad years later.
“I was hanging out with a young Hailee Steinfeld, whom my agent also represented, when she approached him and got a selfie. After Hailee took the pic, I asked Harrison if we could also snap a picture together,” Gad wrote. “Harrison looked at me and said in that iconic gruffy snarl, ‘No.’”
How Jake Gyllenhaal Is Connected to ‘The Book of Mormon’
Gad played Gyllenhaal’s friend in the 2010 movie Love and Other Drugs. When they were driving home from set, Gad played the Broadway movie’s soundtrack.
“I played the opening number. Jake laughed his ass off,” Gad wrote. “I skipped to another track on the album and his face slowly went from joyful enthusiasm to abject fear and terror.”
Hello, My Name Is Elder Price
Before Andrew Rannells was cast alongside Gad in The Book of Mormon, stars like Cheyenne Jackson, T.R. Knight and Nick Lachey auditioned for the role.
A Meaningful Friendship
Gad met Robin Williams (one of his longtime heroes) backstage at The Book of Mormon and they started a friendship that would last until the comedian’s 2014 death.
“It’s so frustrating because you imagine somebody’s gonna be around forever. There was so much I planned to talk to him about. We had been speaking less and less. I saw him, I think, the year before he passed,” Gad told Us. “I could tell he was down. He wasn’t his vibrant self, but I didn’t really know what was going on. I didn’t want to burden him with any conversations, certainly about myself. I feel grateful that he would’ve had an opportunity to hear me talk about how he inspired me — it’s something I said to him personally.”
A-List Fans
Throughout the course of the book, Gad mentioned some stars who proved themselves to be fans. Henry Winkler saw the actor in The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee on Broadway, while Philip Seymour Hoffman went to The Book of Mormon. Multiple stars — Sacha Baron Cohen, Adam Sandler and Melissa McCarthy — have asked Gad to do the Olaf voice from Frozen at parties over the years.
Johnny Depp, Huge YouTube Guy
Gad appeared alongside Depp in the 2017 movie Murder on the Orient Express. The two actors would often “watch TV” in Depp’s trailer while on set, which meant “old YouTube videos” like “Charlie Bit My Finger.”
According to Gad’s book, these clips “blew Johnny’s mind.” While talking with Us, Gad said “it was so wild” to have this experience, which he noted was “the last thing” anyone would expect to do with Depp.
“This was an out of body experience to just sit on a couch and be like, ‘Oh, yes, I remember seeing these YouTube videos 10 years ago.’ But I loved the novelty of them to him,” Gad shared with Us. “Watching him see these things with the eyes of a child was fascinating and wonderful and just sort of amazing.”
His Last Text With Chadwick Boseman
The late Boseman appeared alongside Gad in the 2017 movie Marshall.
“The production, which was shot in Buffalo, got off to a somewhat choppy start because Chad had something wrong with his stomach that he was being treated for in LA,” Gad wrote. “It wouldn’t be until almost three years later that I would realize the medical issue was in actuality colon cancer, and that Chad was somehow shooting our film in the early stages of the disease that would ultimately take his life.”
Gad shared his final text exchange with Boseman, from June 2020. “Love you too brother Gad,” the actor wrote. Boseman died two months later.
19 Kids and Counting alum Jinger Duggar‘s latest book reveals some unexpected details about the effects of her ultra-conservative upbringing.
In People Pleaser: Breaking Free From the Burden of Imaginary Expectations, which debuted Tuesday, January 14, the 31-year-old revealed that she didn’t learn to swim as a kid due to the constraints of her family’s modest wardrobe. (Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their 19 children as followers of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, with women expected to wear dresses or skirts falling at least to knee-length.)
“Since I was a little girl, I wanted to know what it felt like to push myself through the water, to swing my arms and kick my legs to keep me at the surface. But I didn’t know how,” Jinger wrote. “Here’s what I did know for sure: Long skirts were not designed for learning how to swim.”
Jinger went on to joke that “the laws of physics, gravity and buoyancy don’t play well with long skirts,” explaining that she gave swimming a try when she was younger — and it didn’t go well. “Another way of saying ‘long-skirt swimmer’ is ‘one who sinks,'” she added. “And because long skirts were the only swimming fashion available to me as a kid, and because I had a thing about not wanting to sink, the skill of swimming was not something I picked up during that time.”
The former reality star admitted that being around “water of all kinds” felt “scary” without knowing how to swim. As an adult, however, Jinger has begun to dip a toe in since welcoming daughters Felicity, 6, and Evangeline, 4, with husband Jeremy Vuolo. (Jinger announced in October 2024 that she’s pregnant with the pair’s third baby.)
“I want [my kids] to know how to swim. I want them to know that I can too,” Jinger wrote. “But I was still so scared, thinking back to the few times I’d tried as a kid, the long skirt encasing my flailing legs.”
Jinger was initially “hesitant” to try again — her people-pleasing tendencies made her “scared to fail” — but she found comfort in a friend named Rebekah, who helped her learn.
“We’re still at it, my swimming lessons, taking it baby step by baby step (or maybe I should say baby lap by baby lap),” Jinger wrote.
People Pleaser isn’t the first time Jinger has discussed her experience with dressing modestly. In May 2021, Jinger opened up about making the choice to break free from the rules of her upbringing.
“My mom had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard that was taken from Deuteronomy 22:5, which says, ‘A woman shall not wear a man’s garment,'” she wrote in her second book, The Hope We Hold. “Modesty was a huge topic in our house, and we believed that wearing skirts instead of pants was a central part of being modest. But I wanted to discover for myself what the Bible had to say.”
Jinger explained that she started “digging into” the deeper meaning behind familiar passages of scripture after she married Vuolo, 37, in 2016. She realized that modesty isn’t “only about what you wear” but is also “about the position of your heart.” Jinger also “never found a passage specifically forbidding women from wearing pants.”
Last year, Jinger recalled the first time she wore pants around her parents. “The first few times I went back [home], I was not wearing pants. I wore a skirt just to honor [them],” she said on the “Unplanned” podcast. “That’s a big deal for my family, and my heart is not to rub anything in anyone’s face and be like, ‘I’m doing this. I’m doing my own thing.’ … It’s not to make them mad.”
People Pleaser: Breaking Free From the Burden of Imaginary Expectations is available now.
Swift, 35, dropped a “like” on Brittany’s Monday, January 13, Instagram post announcing the birth of her third child, daughter Golden. Brittany’s post revealed that the little one arrived one day prior on Sunday, January 12. (She and Patrick, 29, are also the parents of daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 2.)
Swift and Brittany, 29, have become close since the pop star began dating Travis Kelce in 2023. Travis, 35, plays on the Kansas City Chiefs with Brittany’s husband.
“Brittany is thrilled to be building a genuine friendship with Taylor. They’ve hung out a couple of times and have grown fairly close in a short period of time,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2023. “Brittany thinks Taylor is so sweet and down to earth, and they get along really great.”
The duo have since traveled together, including in Europe last year when Swift played a string of Eras Tour dates. “London & Amsterdam, a time was had ,” Brittany captioned an Instagram photo carousel from the trip in July 2024. In one snap, Brittany and Swift embraced while their respective partners stood behind the duo. In another image, Swift dropped a kiss on Brittany’s head while her pal flashed a grin at the camera.
“They have a really genuine friendship and love hanging out at the games together and cheering on their men,” an insider exclusively told Us in January 2024. “Brittany loves that Taylor is dating Travis, and she’s so supportive of their relationship. They have a very similar sense of humor and are always cracking jokes and laughing.”
While Swift’s “like” is her first public acknowledgment of baby Golden, she has been known to give her friends handmade gifts for their babies. In 2020, she sent Katy Perry a hand-embroidered blanket for daughter Daisy Dove, now 4, whom Perry, 40, shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
“Miss adores her hand embroidered blankie from miss @taylorswift ,” Perry wrote via Instagram after the blanket’s delivery, sharing a snap of the gift and Swift’s accompanying handwritten note.
Last year, Chariah Gordon, who is engaged to Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., revealed that Swift had sent her daughter a gift while in Europe for the Eras Tour. (The couple share son Mecole III, 23 months, and daughter Cianna, who was born in April 2024.)
“It’s so freaking cute and so thoughtful,” Gordon told Glamour in November 2024. “In between shows … [she] was keeping my kids super near.”
Brooke Shields is offering more details about her public falling-out with Tom Cruise — and why she wrote that 2005 op-ed.
“Had Tom taken a public swing at me before I became a mother, I probably would have stayed quiet. I would have ignored his ridiculous rant. I might have been content to sit back while this very famous man hijacked my experience to advance his own (deluded) agenda,” Shields, 59, wrote in her latest memoir, Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman. “I would have been satisfied that his behavior would speak for itself.”
Cruise’s comments from 2005 came just after Shields turned 40. She explained in the book — released on Tuesday, January 14 — how this changed her perspective.
“Sitting quietly and letting myself be attacked might have been my approach a decade earlier — I might have even regretted sharing my story or felt insecure that maybe my career was stalling while a powerful male movie star was singling me out, sure that I’d never stand a chance in that fight — but now I was emboldened by life experience,” Shields wrote, adding that she was “growing into my self-confidence.”
For a little backstory, Shields released her Down Came the Rain memoir in May 2005, detailing her experience with postpartum depression after welcoming daughter Rowan, now 21. (Along with Rowan, Shields and husband Chris Henchy also share 18-year-old daughter Grier.)
Following the release, Cruise went on the Today show and “disparaged me,” Shields wrote. Cruise, she recalled, referred to her “use of antidepressants” as “dangerous.”
“I was, according to Tom, spreading misinformation,” she wrote. “An interesting opinion, coming from someone without ovaries.”
In response, Shields published an op-ed in The New York Times.
“I was sticking up for myself, and for women who were suffering, against irrational and dangerous comments from an unschooled actor who was speaking way out of his depth,” Shields wrote in Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old, noting that while her op-ed “sparked outrage” at Cruise, it also “spurred discussions on the reality and prevalence of postpartum depression.”
Shields confirmed in her book that Cruise “eventually” apologized for starting the feud, albeit “not publicly.” Per Shields, the actor went to her house and they had a conversation.
It wasn’t the world’s best apology, but it’s what he was capable of, and I accepted it,” she wrote.
Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old is out now.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to save money, we’re all in the same boat. Extensive spending on gifts for the holidays, outfits for New Year’s Eve and healthy snacks for the New Year really does it to your bank account! But if you’re also resolving to be more fashionable this year, we’re in the same boat there, too. There’s no better way out of a fashion rut than a little retail therapy!
You may think the solution to your style situation is to toss everything in your closet and start over, but it’s much simpler — and more affordable — than that. To elevate your look for 2025, all you need is a new accessory! There are a lot of options to choose from, ranging from bags and sunglasses to hats, belts and jewelry, but one of the best looks we’ve seen is one that Hailey Bieber and other celebs can’t get enough. If you guessed knocker earrings, you guessed correctly!
Unlike stud earrings, these knocker earrings add a dynamic flair to your face and outfit; unlike dangle earrings, they don’t weigh your ears down. These showstopping earrings are an ideal combination of subtle and bold, featuring a three-hoop anchor that holds three hanging hoops. The style is beyond classy and makes any outfit a trendsetting one.
These knocker earrings are shockingly lightweight and dainty, hanging under an inch from your piercing. They don’t overpower your look, either, but add a modern twist that can only be achieved with this style. We love wearing these earrings everywhere from the office to brunch with the girls or a fancy date night out! If you want to dress them up, no need . . . they do it on their own.
For a casual everyday look, try pairing these earrings with jeans, a blouse, your favorite trench coat and a handbag. If you’re attending a wedding, going to a gala, stopping by your best friend’s birthday party or anything in between, we love the look of these earrings with a sweater dress, bodycon dress or flowy maxi. Oh, and if you’re a corporate queen, these earrings look stunning with dress pants and a white button-up shirt!
Another beautiful thing about these earrings is that you don’t even need to wear a necklace. Some earrings, when worn solo, leave your chest looking barren, but it’s just the opposite with this style. They subtly steal the show! These earrings come in silver and gold, so you may want to grab a pair for yourself and your silver-loving bestie. We’re tempted to grab both for ourselves!
“It breaks my heart that I couldn’t make Jessica happy. I wanted to be everything to my wife,” Lachey — who later married Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo) in July 2011 — recalled to Rolling Stone in April 2006. “I wanted her to look at me with love in her eyes, the way she did at the beginning, and have her feel like I was the most wonderful, awe-inspiring man on the planet. And when that stopped, it was the worst feeling in the world.”
“Nick loved the fact I was so strong in my faith and that I had this wide-eyed innocent approach to life. When he proposed in 2002, I said yes,” Simpson wrote in the book, which was published in 2020. “We were young and pioneering our way through reality television, always mic’ed and always on. We worked and we were great at it but when it came time to being alone, we weren’t great at it anymore.”
She added at the time: “I was 22, and I had just pledged my life and destiny of this man. And I don’t regret it. Nick was meant to be my husband. No one else was supposed to have my virginity.”
Brooke Shields is recalling an “inside joke” from the Friends set that “you’d get canceled” for today.
The Pretty Baby actress, 59, memorably appeared in season 2 of the NBC sitcom, playing Erika, an obsessed Joey Tribbiani fan who believed that Joey — played by Matt LeBlanc — really was his Days of Our Lives character, Dr. Drake Ramoray.
On set, Shields said she was eager to ingratiate herself with the show’s famous cast — LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and the late Matthew Perry — and copied a risqué joke that Perry often did. However, she admits that it probably wouldn’t fly today.
“You go on to a show that’s so well-oiled and so successful … I was such a fan. All I wanted was for them to like me,” the actress explained Monday, January 13, on The View. “I just wanted to be funny. But I wasn’t in the group. They were very tight. They had all these inside jokes.”
“I watched and they had this one inside joke that they did a lot, and Matthew Perry did it,” Shields continued. “And I thought, ‘If I can make him laugh, it’s just gonna feel so good.’”
Admitting that “you couldn’t do it now, you’d get canceled,” Shields explained that Perry would slide across the floor “in front of a girl and pretend to look up her skirt.”
“Again, you’d get canceled today,” she reiterated.
To impress the cast, Shields turned the tables on Perry.
“I ran so fast from one end of the stage all the way to the other, threw myself on the ground, and pretended to look up his pant leg,” she recalled. “Everybody was quiet. I was on the floor and I was like, ‘I just suck! I look like a crazy person!’ I’m on the floor for what felt like an hour, but was probably one second, and all of a sudden he started laughing, and they all started laughing.”
“That afternoon they invited me to have lunch with them and go to the gym on the lot,” Shields writes, per an excerpt published by Real Simple. “I had made it in Hollywood! And in the episode itself, my willingness to embrace the crazy and go hard for the laugh made an impression, too. The day after the show aired, I got a call asking me to star in my own sitcom, Suddenly Susan.”
Perry died at his Los Angeles home in October 2023 at age 54. His official cause of death was later determined as his “the acute effects of ketamine,” which is used to treat opioid use.

OnlyFans influencer Lily Phillips, who got the whole world talking when she had sex with 101 men in one day, has revealed how much money she makes from her career in the sex industry — and it’s an eye-wateringly high figure.
In an interview with E! News published on Monday, January 13, the 23-year-old Brit revealed that her income is “in the millions” — although she doesn’t yet consider herself “set for life.”
Phillips made global headlines when she embarked on her astonishing sex challenge late last year, which saw dozens of men fly to London from across the world for just a few minutes with the influencer.
In a YouTube film released in December documenting Phillips’s stunt, the former nutrition student appeared emotional and admitted she felt “robotic” after having sex with the first 30 or so men — but it hasn’t deterred her, and she’s now “in training” to sleep with 300 men in one day in March.
“For me, there’s no amount of money that would make me stop,” she said in her E! News interview. “There’s no goal. It’s not like, ‘Oh, if I hit this figure, I’ll stop doing this.’ I’m doing it for the love of the game. I just really enjoy it.”
Phillips added that “sleeping with a lot of guys” has always been something she enjoys, so she’s just delighted she’s now making money from it. “I did this as a hobby before I did it for work, so it’s not that outrageous to me,” she said. “I want to be unique in the industry. This is kind of my niche. I have no regrets because everything I’ve done has led up to this point in my life.”
Phillips is also keen to debunk speculation that she’s turned to sex work because she’s reacting to traumatic events. “People think when it comes to the adult industry, everyone in it is doing it because they’ve had some kind of trauma in their life,” she said, adding that this is “so far from the truth.”
Instead, Phillips said she just wants to be “one of these legends in the porn game who are hammering it and doing it so well.”
Phillips’ career on the controversial adult subscription platform began while she was studying at college and realized she could monetize her love of sex and men. While Phillips didn’t originally plan to make OnlyFans her entire career, she quickly realized that it could be seriously lucrative. She now has a staff of nine to help her create her content.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said on the Monday, January 13, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that he has a “few scenes” in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy and that filming was a “hefty load” of work.
“That was a dream come true. I thought SNL was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain,” he added, per Variety.
Kelce shared that acting alongside Sandler was not dissimilar from working with Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
“They’re so professional and yet so fun to work with. I felt like I was working with like the Andy Reid of the acting world,” he said. “[Sandler] is every bit as cool off the screen as he is on the screen. That was a dream come true. That was awesome.”
The NFL star publicly lobbied for a role in the comedy sequel during a May 2024 episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
Addressing a theory that he might appear in the movie, Travis said: “Man, I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2.”
Travis added that he’s a “huge fan of the Sandman” and would jump at the opportunity to appear in a movie with Sandler, but said ultimately it was all “a conspiracy theory.”
“I’ll be a f—ing extra… anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set — count me in,” he added. “I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can.”
A few months later, in August 2024, Sandler confirmed that Travis would make an appearance in the film.
“Travis has … he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler, 58, said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The actor gushed over Travis, adding, “He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
Happy Gilmore 2 is set for release on Netflix later this year. As well as Travis, rapper Eminem and WWE star Becky Lynch are also set for cameos

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host, 57, returned to his late-night ABC slot on Monday, January 13, and opened the show with an emotional monologue about the fires, which began earlier this month and continue to burn, decimating homes and displacing thousands of people.
“It’s been a very scary, very stressful, very strange week here in L.A., where we work, where we live, where our kids go to school,” Kimmel said. “We are back at our studio, which we had to evacuate.”
“That’s our building right there, the El Capitan,” he said, showing footage of a fire near the studio where the show is taped. “That’s how close this fire was to our theater here. Many of us had to leave our homes in a hurry. Some of our coworkers lost their homes. It’s been terrible.”
Kimmel continued, “Everyone who lives in this city knows someone — most of us, multiple people — families, friends, colleagues, neighbors, whose houses burned down. And the truth is we don’t even know if it’s over.”
Though the fires continue to ravage L.A., the comedian said he was heartened to see so many people coming together during the tragedy.
“I think I speak for all of us when I say it has been a sickening, shocking, awful experience. But it has also been, in a lot of ways, a beautiful experience because once again we see our fellow men and women coming together to support each other,” he said. “People who lost their own homes were out volunteering in parking lots, helping others who lost theirs.”
Kimmel noted that his Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, “almost had to come live with me” because he was at risk of being evacuated from his home.
The late-night talk show host said that, in total, he had nearly 20 people staying with him sheltering from the fires. (Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney have two children, Jane, 10, and Billy, 7. He also shares two adult children, Katie, 33, and Kevin, 31, with ex-wife Gina Maddy.)
“We had 19 people living with us, and four dogs. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced,” Kimmel said. “It’s so strange to look around your house and decide what you want to take, and then fight with your kids about what they want to take. We had to leave a lot of stuffed animals behind.”
“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing fires around the area of Los Angeles,” the pop superstar, 43, shared via Instagram on Monday, January 13.
She continued, “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
Beyoncé set a major announcement — which fans have speculated could be anything from a new tour to a new album — for January 14 following her NFL Christmas Gameday halftime show in Houston, Texas. The star performed songs from her Cowboy Carter album for the first time during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game on December 25.
The singer’s family has been affected by wildfires in the Los Angeles area, which have ravaged areas such as the Pacific Palisades and the Hollywood Hills. Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, shared via Instagram on Thursday, January 9, that she had lost her Malibu bungalow to the fires. “It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred happy place,” Tina, 71, revealed.
“God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions,” Tina continued. “We [thank you] for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives. This could have been so much worse without the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders. I’m so sad for the people who lost the five family members. My deepest prayers are with you!!!!!”
She added, “To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you worked so hard and sacrificed so much to own! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you I cannot imagine the pain and suffering and fear that you are enduring. I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles!! We are resilient though and we will recover!”
“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the organization said.
Maria Menounos is opening up about the time friends shamed her decision to have a child via surrogate.
“They were friends. One of them worked for me for a while,” Menounos, 46, shared on the Monday, January 13, episode of the “Women in the Nude” podcast.
“This is somebody who was, like, so sweet and I, like, loved,” she explained to host Sasha Pieterse. “She said to my husband, ‘What do you mean she can’t carry? Like, that doesn’t make any sense.’”
“And he goes, ‘Her neurosurgeon — the top neurosurgeon in the world — said she can’t carry.’ And she was like, ‘I just don’t get it. It just doesn’t make any sense.’”
Following that exchange, Menounos cut ties with her friend.
“I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t ever want to talk to you again,’” She recalled. “It’s one thing to be judged by outside people who don’t know and don’t get it. But you actually know me, and you know what we’ve gone through. For you to even say anything so judgmental is just crazy to me.”
Menounos and husband Keven Undergaro welcomed their daughter, Athena Alexandra, with the help of a surrogate in June 2023.
The former E! News anchor had faced infertility issues that led to IVF treatments, which were halted when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017. The tumor was removed and she was given a clean bill of health, but her neurosurgeon advised her against carrying a child.
When Menounos and Undergaro’s first surrogate fell through in 2020, Menounos had all but given up hope — then she joyously announced in February 2023 that they’d found another and were expecting a baby.
“Athena is our miracle baby,” the “Heal Squad” podcast host told Usafter her daughter’s birth. “I’m so grateful for her.”
Menounos expanded on Athena’s impact on her life in an interview with Us last November, saying, “It’s been the greatest gift. I think the first thing that I felt after she was born is that I finally knew where I belonged. And that was a really incredible feeling. I didn’t feel like I was chasing after anything anymore. And she’s just magic. And I just love every second of it. She’s just brought so much joy to all of us, and I’m so grateful.”
As for whether she sees more kids in their future, Menounos told Us that “it would be a dream.”
“We’ve already discussed that we wanted to. The second she was born, I’m like, ‘I want more, I need more,’” she said. “And then we were kind of like, ‘Well, let’s wait ‘till she’s old enough so that transition feels good for her.’ So she doesn’t feel like a loss; she feels like a gain and that she’s got a new role. So that’s kind of what we’re thinking.”
Haack, 41, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, January 13, to share a photo of firewood burning in a large bowl. She captioned the post “energy cutting” and added emojis of a peace sign as well as a wolf and a moon — a reference to the full Wolf Moon in the skies that night.
The HGTV personality seemed to be engaged in a wellness practice called “cord cutting,” which energy healer George Lizos recently described on Goop.com.
“Toxic cords of attachment … are created deliberately over time,” Lizos said. “The majority of these ties are formed as a result of the time and energy you spend deliberately with others — moments shared and words exchanged. Although these cords may have been positive at the start of a relationship, they have since become negative as the relationship has deteriorated.”
While Haack attempted to release negative attachments, her ex Hall went Instagram-official with new girlfriend Stephanie Gabrys.
On Monday, Hall updated his Instagram Stories with a pic of himself and Gabrys cuddling near a fire pit with mountains in the background. “Happy 35th to this real life [angel],” Hall captioned the photo, adding an angel emoji and tagging Gabrys.
Earlier this month, a source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly that Hall had “met someone wonderful in Nashville, and they have been happily dating for some time.” The insider noted that while Josh “wasn’t trying to date,” he met someone who is a “perfect match.”
Meanwhile, Haack revealed that her divorce battle with Hall was intensifying.
“We’re going to be going to trial I hear,” she said on the Thursday, January 9, episode of Radio Andy’s Jeff Lewis Live, alleging that Hall “doesn’t want to do mediation” and inferring that he wasn’t moving the process along.
“It’s going to be fun,” she told host Jeff Lewis. “Can’t wait.”
Haack and Hall both filed for divorce in July 2024 after more than two years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by Us, Haack — who hired divorce attorney Laura Wasser — requested that neither party receive spousal support and wanted Hall to pay her lawyer fees. Hall, meanwhile, was seeking spousal support from his ex and asked her to pay his attorney fees.
“[The court hasn’t] ordered me yet but he’s been asking me [for money],” Haack, who is now reportedly dating businessman Christopher LaRocca, alleged in her latest interview. “I’ve already had to give a little something but then he bought a Bentley. I gave him money to live and he bought a Bentley but he also doesn’t have a job so.”
Responding to Haack’s latest interview, Hall’s spokesperson told Us: “Hall is not available for comment, as he’s continuing to live his life in the present and celebrating his beautiful new girlfriend’s birthday. With that said, it’s sad Christina must resort to low blows about her ex Josh to promote her new show. She should focus on her new boyfriend and stop talking about Josh. As the great Mariah Carey once sang, ‘Why you so obsessed with me?’ We wish Christina the best.”
Hall’s rep added, “Christina knows nothing about Josh’s life, and it’s sad she keeps speculating. Her accusations are baseless.”
Jessica Simpson announced she and her husband, Eric Johnson, have called it quits after 10 years of marriage.
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told Us Weekly in a statement on Monday, January 13. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Simpson sparked split rumors in November 2024 while teasing new music. “Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she wrote via Instagram. “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve .”
Though she did not specify the hardships she went through, fans were quick to theorize that her comments were about her relationship with Johnson. “Is this j simp saying she’s single?” one user commented on the post, while another fan added: “Yep, called this a while ago. We love you. Stay strong.”
Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson, addressed the rumors while walking in Los Angeles with her husband, Evan Ross, that same day. When asked by TMZ whether it was “true” that Jessica and Johnson were calling it quits, she simply told the outlet: “No.”
Johnson added fuel to the fire when he was photographed walking around L.A. sans wedding ring later that month, per pics obtained by People.
Amid the drama, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the now-exes were “living separately.” A second insider added that they were “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible.” (The duo share kids Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.)
A third source noted that Jessica was “heartbroken” by the situation, stating, “[It was] not an easy decision for her.”
Jessica was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006. She was first spotted with Johnson in 2010, the same year he split from his ex-wife, Keri D’Angelo. In November of that year, Us confirmed that Johnson popped the question to Jessica after six months of dating.
Prior to tying the knot in July 2014, the former couple became parents with the birth of Maxwell in May 2012, followed by Ace in June 2013. They completed their family of five with the birth of Birdie in March 2019.
Johnson last appeared on Jessica’s social media in April, as she posted several Instagram pics from the family’s spring break trip to Cabo San Lucas and their Easter celebrations.
“2024 Spring Breakin’ with the fam was EPIC!” she wrote alongside Instagram snaps of their tropical vacation on April 8. “Thank you @tinasimpsonofficial for giving these kiddos memorable moments in Cabo that they will hold close to their precious hearts and cherish for a lifetime!”
