5 Great Shows and Movies About Food You Can Stream Right Now
Netflix‘s Nonnas, starring Vince Vaughn, is currently one of the most popular movies on the streamer right now.
The sweet film is a tribute to the way human beings express love through food and how fine cooking can be an art form.
If you love detailed tributes to deliciousness and close-ups on culinary confections, Watch With Us has recommendations for you.
These five movies and shows, from Ratatouille to The Bear, are incredible examples of the art of “food on film,” in addition to being entertaining stories with wonderful casts.
Warning: You will be hungry after viewing.
Jon Favreau and John Leguizamo star in this charming road trip movie about Carl Casper (Favreau), a chef who has grown frustrated and creatively stifled. He's also grown disconnected from his son Percy (Emjay Anthony) and his ex-wife, Inez (Sofia Vergara). When he's let go from his restaurant job, he starts a food truck with his friend Martin (Leguizamo) and Percy. Together, they drive across the country, incorporating local ingredients into their delicious sandwiches. Thanks to Percy's tech savviness, they become a social media phenomenon, and father and son grow closer than ever.
Chef is a feel-good comedy with an earnest love of food that will bring a smile to your face. The sweet story combined with the delicious dishes will leave you hungry for more.

Across oceans, years and cultures, food connects us. In From Scratch, it's what helps the love between artist Amy (Zoe Saldaña) and chef Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea) survive family drama, illness and more of life's ups and downs. The first episode of this limited series, which is based on Tembi Locke's memoir of the same name, features a particularly sensuous montage at Lino's restaurant when he serves food to Amy and her friends.
Throughout the couple's many hardships, food is a constant source of both comfort and passion. The cinematography in this stunningly beautiful series captures the magic of Italian cuisine, Texan barbecue and everything in between. It's a tearjerker, but the whole series is also mouth-wateringly satisfying.
Watch From Scratch on Netflix.
Liz (Julia Roberts) takes a culinary trip around the world in this romantic dramedy, an adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir of the same name. Whether you dream of pasta, pizza, curry or naan, you can salivate over any of them in this film, which follows Liz from Italy to India to Bali on a journey of self-discovery following a difficult divorce.
The film's cinematography captures the essence of her delicious meals in such detail that audiences can almost taste them themselves, which plays a significant role in communicating Liz's rediscovered love for life's simple pleasures. She also delivers a moving monologue about refusing to let an obsession with calories keep her from enjoying incredible food. Directed by Ryan Murphy, Eat, Pray, Love skillfully combines lush visual storytelling with an exploration of themes such as self-discovery, spirituality, and the pursuit of happiness.

This Emmy-winning FX and Hulu series is a runaway hit for its depiction of the chaotic energy of a real gourmet kitchen. Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) is a Michelin Star-winning chef who returns to his hometown of Chicago and transforms his brother's beloved but decrepit sandwich shop into a fine dining establishment. Real-life chef Courtney Storer creates the incredible dishes on this show, which all look so delicious you can almost smell them through your screen. In addition to its stellar cast, which features Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bacharach and Abby Elliot (among others), The Bear also shines a spotlight on real chefs like Matty Matheson, Christina Tosi, Christopher Zucchero and more.
The culinary artistry showcased in The Bear is a visual feast, elevating the series beyond traditional kitchen drama. It's a tribute to the craft of cooking, in all its beauty and its ugliness. Should you watch it? "Yes, Chef!"
Watch The Bear on Hulu.
If you've ever wished you were a better chef but felt too intimidated to step into the kitchen, think back to Ratatouille's theme: "Anyone can cook." Remy (Patton Oswalt), a rat, has a passion for flavor that emanates from the screen in this heartwarming animated movie. When he befriends Linguini (Lou Romano), a food-lover who lacks much in the way of cooking skill, the duo team up to form an unstoppable (albeit unconventional) culinary team.
Ratatouille captures the essence and artistry, beautifully depicting food and the passion of the people who make it. From the sizzle of fresh vegetables to the aromatic wafts of prepared dishes, every scene is a testament to the film’s love for the culinary arts. Characters are seen treating ingredients with reverence, showcasing not just the technical skills required to prepare exquisite meals but also the creativity and love that go into creating extraordinary cuisine. No matter where you come from, Ratatouille seems to say, the culinary arts belong to you, too.

3 Must-Watch Comedy Movies to Stream on Memorial Day Weekend
Comedy movies and war films aren’t the easiest genres to combine in a single project.
There are a handful of war comedies, but not as many as you may think. Satirical war films are difficult to make, and sometimes, given the subject matter, they’re also difficult to laugh at.
The Watch With Us team’s picks for the three must-watch comedy movies to stream on Memorial Day weekend include two rare films that successfully combined armed conflict and hilarious situations.
However, the final selection only has a slight connection to war. But if you love broad comedy, you’ll be laughing too much to care about that.
5 Great TV Shows to Watch on Memorial Day Weekend
‘Stripes’ (1981)
It’s hard to go wrong with two out of the four original Ghostbusters appearing alongside fellow comedy legends John Candy and John Larroquette. Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman helmed Stripes and cast Bill Murray as John Winger, a down-on-his-luck slacker who impulsively joins the army. He also talks his best friend, Russell Ziskey (Harold Ramis), into enlisting with him.
However, Winger has a severe personality clash with his drill sergeant, Sergeant Hulka (Warren Oates), and figures out too late that army life isn’t a good fit for him. He and Ziskey also find time to romance Louise Cooper (Sean Young) and Stella Hansen (P. J. Soles), a pair of military police women. Winger’s antics may be hilarious for audiences, but they get him and Ziskey in a lot of trouble. And they can only stay in training for so long before being sent on an actual military assignment.
Stripes is streaming on Philo.
‘War Machine’ (2017)
War Machine is a satire that’s loosely based on events that actually happened during the war in Afghanistan during the term of President Barack Obama (Reggie Brown). Brad Pitt stars as General Glen McMahon, a man who has been given broad leeway to come up with a plan to end the war, as long as it doesn’t include a request for more troops.
Why Jon Watts Canceled a 'Wolfs' Sequel With Brad Pitt and George Clooney
Journalist Sean Cullen (Scoot McNairy) gets a first-hand look at McMahon’s contempt for civilian authority and his conclusion that there is no way to win without a troop surge. McMahon’s efforts to change the armed forces’ strategy are thwarted more than once, and it’s darkly comical that he can’t seem to fully comprehend that the people of Afghanistan have long since tired of having the U.S. troops around.
War Machine is streaming on Netflix.
‘Top Secret!’ (1984)
Top Secret! isn’t really a war movie, but it is a very funny spy comedy that parodies everything from Elvis Presley movies to World War II flicks. The Naked Gun directors Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker gave Val Kilmer his first leading role as Nick Rivers, a rock star who doubles as a spy for the U.S. government.
Nick’s cover as a musician gets him undercover inside East Germany as a performer. But his actual mission is to foil a reunification plot by General Streck (Jeremy Kemp) that will bring West Germany under the control of the communist-led East German government. Things get very silly as Nick attempts to carry out his orders, and this is a true comedy classic.
Top Secret! is streaming on Pluto TV.

'The Last of Us' Season 2 Finale — Release Time, Date, Plot and How to Watch
There’s only one episode remaining in The Last of Us season 2, but the finale is far from the end of the story.
However, The Last of Us season 2, episode 6 may be the final time that Pedro Pascal appears as Joel. Following Joel’s death at the hands of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) earlier this season, Pascal has been kept off-screen. Fortunately, episode 6’s extended flashbacks gave the audience some closure for Joel’s time on the show.
Ellie (Bella Ramsey), on the other hand, won’t be satisfied until she’s tracked down Abby and made her pay for Joel’s demise. She can’t be at peace until that happens.
To get everyone ready for the last episode of the season, Watch With Us has put together this guide to everything you need to know about The Last of Us season 2 finale.

Where Is ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Streaming?
The Last of Us season 2, episodes 1-6 are streaming on Max. The entire first season is also available to watch.

What Happened in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2, Episode 6?
Almost the entire episode took place in the past. The first flashback introduced Better Call Saul‘s Tony Dalton as Javier Miller, the father of Joel and Tommy. Joel put himself between his father’s abusive rage and his younger brother, and he was rewarded for his bravery with a heart-to-heart conversation. Javier also expressed his hope that Joel will do better with his own children than he did with his.
To a certain extent, Joel did. The rest of the episode touches on Joel’s life with Ellie in Jackson, including the time he gave her a hand-crafted guitar for her birthday. However, the emotional distance between Joel and Ellie grew larger over the years, especially when she declared her intent to move out of his house. On Ellie’s 19th birthday, she and Joel went out on patrol and encountered Eugene (Joe Pantoliano) after he had been infected. Eugene begged Joel to let him see his wife, Gail (Catherine O’Hara), one last time. Ellie made Joel agree to that, but she was angered when Joel executed Eugene anyway. That’s why she exposed his lies to Gail.
In the final flashback, Ellie confronted Joel after the New Year’s Eve party and demanded the truth about what happened with the Fireflies. Joel admitted that he executed all of them rather than let Ellie be euthanized in the name of finding a cure. Ellie was angered because she felt that was worth dying for, but she told Joel that she wanted to try to forgive him. In turn, Joel told Ellie that he hopes she does better with her children.
What’s Going to Happen in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2, Episode 7?
Expect to see a major turning point for Ellie’s story, since this episode will be the last for at least a year or two. It will be interesting to see if The Last of Us leans into a cliffhanger ending or if the conclusion to season 2 will be left more open-ended.
14 Must-See Shows on HBO and Max Right Now (May 2025)
Is There a Trailer for ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2, Episode 7?
Yes, and it looks like Ellie and her girlfriend, Dina, will be reunited at least one more time this season. Dina’s ex, Jesse, appears and makes a very good point about the war for Seattle that they’ve inadvertently stepped into. It’s not their fight, but they may not get a choice in the matter if he tries to leave with Dina.
As for Ellie, she’s already made her decision. She’s going to find Abby or die trying.
How Many Episodes Are There in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2?
There are seven episodes in The Last of Us season 2.
Who’s Joined the Cast of ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2?
In addition to Dever as Abby, Merced as Dina and Wright as Isaac Dixon, Young Mazino also joined the cast as Dina’s ex, Jesse.
Catherine O’Hara plays Gail, who was Joel’s therapist in Jackson before he passed away. While Gail’s husband, Eugene, was only briefly seen in the game, Joe Pantoliano portrayed that character on the show. Gabriel Luna is reprising his season 1 role as Joel’s younger brother, Tommy.
