Kelly Stafford is doing her best to keep her daughters humble — but so far the results are a mixed bag.
Stafford, 35, and her husband, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, share four girls: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6 and Tyler, 4.
On the Thursday, April 17, episode of her podcast “The Morning After,” Kelly said she and Matthew, 37, are in a constant “battle” to make sure their daughters are thankful for their lifestyle.
“My kids have been on a couple playdates and this has come out of their mouth, two of them,” Kelly recalled. “Different playdates, two different kids. I was like, ‘How was the playdate, did you guys have fun?’ They were like, ‘Yeah, it was really fun. Their house is kinda small, though.’”
Kelly continued, “I think Matthew and I just stopped in our steps and sat them down and said, ‘First off, the size of the house does not matter at all. Literally. It’s who’s in the house. If you were in a mansion and you didn’t have your friend there, would you have had fun? No.’”
Matthew signed a restructured deal in February to stay with the Rams, though specific details have not been revealed. He was due to make $27 million next season and the new contract has reportedly given him a “significant” raise.

“Whenever we have an opportunity to give back and it is something that we can take the kids to, we do,” Kelly said. “I also don’t think there’s anything wrong when there’s a homeless person on the side of the street, educating [the girls].”
Kelly explained it’s been a learning curve for herself and Matthew because “neither of us grew up like this.”
“Do you take [the girls] in the car and do you drive them through and show them like, ‘Alright, this is this and this is that?’ Kelly pondered. “We have to realize how blessed we are and how grateful we should be for what we have. At the same time, when they’re young that’s a hard thing for them to conceptualize. They’re like, ‘Great, can we go back home now?’”
When her daughters are back at home, Kelly has found herself facing a battle of a different kind.
“The worst comment that comes out of their mouths [is]: ‘I’m bored,’” Kelly said. “I want to shake them. I’m like, ‘You don’t understand boredom. You have everything at your fingertips here. We shouldn’t, but you do.’”
Kelly Marie Tran opened up about her experience of coming out as “a queer person” after facing intense backlash from Star Wars fans.
“I was already being ridiculed. There were comments about my race or comments about me being a woman [from Star Wars fans]. I already felt like I was being persecuted for those things,” Tran, 36, told Entertainment Weeklyin an interview published Thursday, April 17.
The actress was thrust into international fame overnight when she was cast as Rose Tico in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Before anyone had even seen Tran’s performance as Rose, she became the target of complaints from a subset of Star Wars fans who opposed efforts to diversify the franchise. John Boyega and Jodie Turner-Smith have both spoken out about enduring similar mistreatment from the Star Wars fandom.
Tran related the scrutiny of her Star Wars casting to her decision to come out as queer, telling EW, “[After the backlash], I’m like, ‘Am I going to publicly come out?’ It was a complicated thing to think about.”
“But I’m going to quote [The Wedding Banquet costar] Lily Gladstone here, someone who I love dearly and I’ve learned so much from,” she added. “She says that, ‘Joy is an act of resistance.’ And I think that is really true. When I see other people experiencing joy despite their communities being persecuted, it’s such a beautiful, brave, inspiring thing to witness. I don’t think that I could have done that without the support of my amazing cast and crew and friends.”
Tran also spoke to Us Weekly exclusively about the circumstances that led to her coming out while shooting her new movie, The Wedding Banquet, which revolves around a gay man proposing a “green card wedding” to a female friend in exchange for paying for her IVF treatments.
“I did not plan to do it at all,” she told Us. “I was on set that day. We were filming the Korean wedding scene, and this journalist from Vanity Fair, David Canfield, who we love and adore, came and did this first look. And he asked me what I was excited about, and the first thing that came out of my mouth was, ‘I’m excited to tell a queer story as a queer person.’ And then I was like, ‘Uh-oh, oh, wait, let me think about it.’”
Tran praised the reporter for being “kind” and consulting with her about the way she wanted to share her queer identity with the world.
“That was such a gift,” she told Us. “I knew that that’s not normal, and so I’m so grateful to David Canfield. But yeah, I thought about it and I also had the experience of making this movie with all of my friends who were celebrating this part of our identity. And I was like, ‘Why would I hide this?’”
The star continued, “So I’m really, really grateful to be celebrating that now here in a time when it’s become a really complicated time for the queer community. So to be able to have this thing that we get to celebrate means the world to me.”
Fire Island filmmaker Andrew Ahn remade legendary director Ang Lee’s 1993 comedy for a modern audience with help from an acclaimed cast, including Tran, Gladstone, Saturday Night Live’s Bowen Yang and Twin Peaks icon Joan Chen.
“I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember how old I was exactly when I saw the original [Wedding Banquet film], but I did do a rewatch of it recently, right before Sundance,” Tran told Us. “And I was just in awe at how beautiful that film is and how well it holds up.”
Tran went on to say, “I also had the joy of working on this reimagining of it and recognizing all these little references that Andrew and [cowriter] James [Schamus] put into our version that are from the original film. So it’s just really exciting to not only be such a fan of Ang Lee and his work, but also to be now in this little reimagining.”
The Wedding Banquet hits theaters Friday, April 18.
Kesha’s own music led her to realize that she wasn’t ready to say “I do.”
The singer revealed in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up on Thursday, April 17, that she was secretly engaged and broke off the relationship after listening back to one of her songs.
“Basically, I find that writing songs leads me to my truth,” said Kesha, 38. “I was engaged and I didn’t wanna be anymore and I didn’t even realize that I was gonna break up with him until I wrote a song about it, and then I listened back to it, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, I’m gonna break up with him now.’”
Kesha did not reveal the name of the man she was engaged to. She began dating longtime boyfriend Brad Ashenfelter in 2014 and was last seen with him in 2021. She has also been linked to entrepreneur Michael Gilvary and producer Riccardo Maddalosso.
“It led me to my truth ’cause I can’t lie in the song,” the “Tik Tok” singer continued. “You can’t lie in a song. A, your song will suck, but also, that’s not what it’s there for, you know?”
Rolling Stone reported in 2023 that Kesha wrote her song “Too Far Gone” after breaking off an engagement. The song was featured on her 2023 album, Gag Order. She told the outlet that while she didn’t want to name the man in question, the two remain friends.

Kesha opened up more about her love life in a March interview with People, where she said she’s “explored nonmonogamy” but was looking for more in a relationship.
“I’ve dated a lot of very cool, very broke hipsters with very bad attitudes, and so I’m trying to swing the pendulum 180 degrees and go in the entirely opposite direction,” she said. “I want someone that goes to an office building because they own the office building.”
She also admitted she’s “looking for a sugar daddy.”
“I love being able to just be open and honest about it, because I’m f***ing into somebody taking care of me, putting me on a pedestal, taking me on their yacht and flying me on their plane,” she added. “I’m just into it, and I will not feel shame about that.”
Professionally, Kesha is getting ready to release her next album, Period, in July. It will be her first released under her label, Kesha Records, following the conclusion of her legal battle with her former producer Dr. Luke.
“I finally feel free. And I’m excited. I am the CEO of my own record label … and I have written every song, and I have produced every song, and I have chosen all of the artwork and every take, vocally — it’s all been up to me, and I love it,” Kesha told The Morning Mash Up. “I listen to it all the time. I listen to my own record when I need to pump myself up.”
Monica Garcia is a mom of five after welcoming her first baby with boyfriend Braxton Knight.
“Getting pregnant at 40 was never the plan, but just like the last couple years of my life, nothing has gone to plan,” Garcia, 41, wrote in an Instagram video documenting the arrival of her newborn uploaded on Thursday, April 17. “Dear God & body … thank you. Thank you for holding this baby safely through 9 months and a delivery.”
Garcia added that she was “grateful” for her baby and was going to miss “every hiccup and every kick felt.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum already shares daughters Bri, Jaidyn, West and Kendall with ex-husband Mike Fowler, whom she was married to from 2009 to 2023.
“It was difficult coming off such a tumultuous whirlwind with RHOSLC and all the love and hate I received from all of that,” she told People at the time. “Old friends turned on me, I was iced out by the cast, I lost my job, my relationship with my mother has never recovered, my world was crumbling. Then I had an unexpected pregnancy and miscarriage at 40. The entire time I was going through all of that, the world chose to spit on me and continue to kick me while I was down. The accusations of me lying about a pregnancy and miscarriage that I received daily while dealing with such an unexpected loss was a pain that I will never forget. I was losing a baby while being shredded apart by some of the most awful comments I’ve ever had said to and about me.”

Garcia — who appeared on season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City from September 2023 to January 2024 — met Knight while filming a snowmobiling scene for the Bravo reality series. She revealed in April 2024 that the couple were expecting their first baby together, but she suffered a miscarriage later that month.
After her previous experience, Garcia chose to keep this pregnancy private until one month before her due date, telling People, “That miscarriage was my lowest point with being in the public eye and I wasn’t going to put myself through that again, for the sake of the pregnancy and the baby.”
“God has been there for me every single step of the way,” she added. “I have been so blessed and been silent about all of it. I just hope someone reads this and it resonates with them on some level. Reminds them that no matter what people do to you, say about you or try to take from you, they can NEVER take what God has for you.”
Per court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, April 17, Murphey’s sister Robyn Polinsky filed a petition in March seeking to be named administrator of his estate. In Touchwas the first to report the news.
“[David] was a single, unmarried man, with no children, either living or deceased,” Polinsky alleged in the documents. “He was predeceased by both of his parents.”
Polinsky claimed in the filing that she and sister Cheryl Hastings are his only immediate family members that are alive today. Polinsky alleged that their other sister Linda Murphey died before David.
“Due inquiry and search have been made to ascertain if [David] left a Last Will and Testament, or some other instrument dispositive of his estate, but none has been found and, according to [Robyn’s] best knowledge, information, and belief, [David] died intestate,” the docs claimed.
Polinsky alleged that the heirs to the estate are her and Hastings, claiming that she was “competent to serve as administrator of the estate” and “hereby consents to act as administrator.”
“So far as known to [her], the property of [David] within the State of Nevada consists of real and personal property of a gross value, which after deducting encumbrances, exceeds” $300,000,” the filing read. “All liquid assets of the estate should be placed in an attorney trust account, pending further order of this court.”
Weeks after filing her petition, In Touch reported that Polinsky filed new information explaining she learned that David owned a Montana LLC named Daves Nomadic Life. She alleged that the company owned a 2023 Cornerstone, 45-B, motor vehicle.
“It is in the best interest of the estate, and it is necessary that the administrator have authority to continue the operation of such company and to have authority to access bank accounts, receive payments and pay bills, execute agreements, contracts and other legal documents on behalf of the company and to liquidate and dispose of the motor vehicle.”
“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the last several years. He was 66 years old,” they wrote.
In the statement, the family referred to David as a “veteran, small business owner and software engineer.” The statement claimed that he recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s office in Nevada, and worked for H&R Block and IGT.
“He was also well known for his time as a cast member on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” they wrote. “His time on the show allowed him to connect with viewers, see the world, and share his experiences with his thousands of followers on Instagram. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans. David has survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera. The family asked for privacy during this difficult time.”
Later that month, a Clark County, Nevada, spokesperson told Us that David — who had a history of pulmonary embolism — died from “cardiac arrhythmia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease.” His death was ruled natural.

Those closest to Michelle Trachtenberg continue to grieve the actress’ sudden death.
“The whole family is still very much in mourning and still devastated,” a source exclusively shares with Us Weekly.
On February 26, the Gossip Girl star’s death was confirmed by her rep after she was found unconscious inside her New York City apartment. She was 39.
While her cause of death was initially deemed “undetermined,” the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed to Us on Wednesday, April 16, that Trachtenberg died as a result of complications from diabetes mellitus. Her death was deemed natural.
“Michelle’s family knew what the cause of death was likely to be,” the insider adds. “They were aware of her health issues, so it’s not a surprise.”
Us has reached out to Trachtenberg’s rep for comment.
According to the Mayo Clinic, diabetes mellitus refers to a “group of diseases that affect how the body uses blood sugar,” a.k.a. glucose. Glucose is the brain’s main source of fuel and a key source of energy for cells in the human body.
“She was very open with those close to her about having the transplant,” a friend of Trachtenberg said in March, adding that the late actress “never went into detail.”
Director Casey Tebotold TMZ in March that the actress had written a screenplay based on the book Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel. According to Tebo, it was one of the best screenplays he’d read, and the pair were in talks with a studio to make the potential film a reality.
Since her passing, Trachtenberg has received countless tributes from costars and friends.
“I loved her very much,” Rosie O’Donnellsaid about her Harriet the Spy costar. “She struggled the last few years. I wish I could have helped.”
Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford also honored his coworker with a social media post.
“Michelle was one of a kind,” he wrote via Instagram. “I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it. She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic.. remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you .”
Sean Lowe and his wife, Catherine Giudici, are eager to get back to their normal lives after dealing with their tragic dog attack.
On Thursday, April 17, Lowe, 41, and Giudici, 38, gave an update on how they and their kids — Samuel, Isaiah and Mia — are coping.
“Once again, thank you so much to everyone who sent us really nice DMs, we appreciate it more than you know,” Lowe explained in an Instagram video. “But if it’s OK with you I think we would like to be getting back to what we do best, and that is really just making fun of our kids and creating really dumb content.”
Giudici agreed with her husband, adding that they want to go back to “having fun.”
“On Thursday, I was having some friends of mine over to barbecue,” Lowe shared in an Instagram post. “Catherine took the kids to the mall, and we’re just barbecuing here on my patio, and it was a really nice night, so I had the doors and windows open, and some of the smoke from the barbecue started to drift inside, and our smoke alarm started going off. So I grab a dish rag and I’m going over to waft the smoke away from the smoke alarm, because the siren was insanely loud. And as I’m holding the dish rag, Moose comes up and, like, bites it and kind of nips my finger really aggressively, which is something that he does not do. So, you know, I kind of gave him a, ‘No, Moose.’”
Lowe went on to explain that Moose began biting his feet and eventually started attacking him.
“I feel him just kind of ripping into the flesh of my arm,” Lowe recalled. “And at this point, I am doing everything I possibly can just to fend this dog off.”
The former Bachelor had to be rushed to the ER and received stitches in “five or six different places.” The following day, Lowe’s parents came to the house to take the children as he researched “the best plan of action” to take Moose away.
“I’m waiting in the front yard for my parents to show up with the kids. They show up, and we’re getting the kids in the car so that they can go with them, and the next thing I know, I hear a ‘No, no, no, no.’ And it’s Catherine from inside the house,” Lowe remembered. “And I look at the front door because I’m standing in the front yard, and I see Moose running out the front door.”
Moose began attacking Lowe again, “ripping into” his flesh before the family called 911 and he received more stitches.
“We miss our dog, as weird as that sounds. He was a really, really good dog,” Lowe added. “And we miss him.”
On Tuesday, April 15, Lowe confirmed that he is “doing great” now and is “healing.”
“My scars aren’t as bad as I thought they would be,” he shared on his Instagram Story. “Isaiah likes to kiss this one here. The doctor told me that one is about as good as it’s going to get, it’s kind of red. It won’t be red forever, but I’ll have a cool scar there forever.”
Haley Joel Osment was involved in an argument with staff at the Mammoth Mountain resort in California shortly before his arrest earlier this month.
Video obtained by TMZ shows Osment, 37, prepared to board a chairlift despite not having his snowboard with him. As a staff member pleads with him to get out of line, onlookers can be heard seeming to grow frustrated with the delay. One even pleaded for security to step in.
A witness told TMZ that one guest tried to tug on him, encouraging him to get out of line, leading to both falling over.
When the staffer told Osment that security was on its way, the Sixth Sense actor finally relented and exited the line. Another bystander alleged to the outlet that Osment “absolutely reeked of alcohol” and that after leaving the line, he walked over to his snowboard and appeared to “fumble around with it.”
Osment was arrested on April 8 after police received a call around 2 p.m. local time regarding an allegedly intoxicated individual at the resort. He was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance. The unknown substance was sent to the lab for testing, per TMZ.
He stayed in jail overnight before being released. Us Weekly has reached out to Osment for comment.
This isn’t Osment’s first run-in with law enforcement. The actor was arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence after an automobile accident. He pleaded no contest to a DUI and one count of marijuana possession. Osment was sentenced to three years probation and fined $1,500. He was also required to seek treatment for alcohol use.
His most recent arrest comes three months after he lost his home in the Los Angeles wildfires. Osment told Us Weekly exclusively that he is now living with his sister, actress Emily Osment.
“Because I lost my house in the fires, I’ve been living with her for the past a couple months,” he told Us in a story published April 2. “So she’s been very generous and helping me out there. She’s fantastic.”
He spoke glowingly of life with Emily, 33, who is currently starring in Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“She’s great. Her show is just wrapping up season 1 right now,” he said. “Great community of people there.”
Though Haley and Emily have yet to work together on a project, they’ve stayed close, even before the older brother moved in. The two were spotted celebrating Emily’s 33rd birthday in March, grabbing lunch together in Studio City.
Emily had finalized her divorce from ex-husband Jack Anthony just two days before.
