Why ‘Elsbeth’ Mentioned Prince Harry, Meghan Markle in Relation to a Funeral
Elsbeth found a new and surprising way to bring up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — but this time in connection to a funeral.
During the Thursday, April 10, episode of the hit CBS series, Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) investigated the owner of an elite funeral home, Arthur Greene Jr. (David Alan Grier), who appeared to be involved in his nephew’s murder. The investigation overlapped with a burial service for a high-profile public figure, which meant Elsbeth ran into a photographer outside of the historic funeral home.
“Are you hoping to take pictures of the senator’s family?” Elsbeth asked, to which the photographer responded, “Family? No. Friends? Yes. Rumor has it, Harry and Meghan are going to be here. A good shot of them will make my whole year.”
Elsbeth wished the photographer “good luck” before reuniting with him later in the episode. This time, the royals weren’t mentioned because the photographer informed Elsbeth he was leaving after the “family decided to cremate instead.”
Did You Realize 'Elsbeth' on CBS Is Subtly Throwing the Best Celeb Shade?
ICYMI, Elsbeth has previously mentioned the Duchess of Sussex, 43. A January episode followed Elsbeth’s investigation into a holistic wellness center after a patient was found dead in his car. Elsbeth immediately got a bad feeling about the facility’s founder (Eric McCormack) after getting the case assignment from Captain Wagner (Wendell Pierce).

“In the meantime, I need you on a case. A young man, Cole Campbell, was found deceased on the highway. His car ran off the road,” Captain Wagner said. “The last place he was seen was some fancy spa where celebrities and the royals go to.”
Wagner poked fun at the wellness center, adding, “The global press was already trying to frame Meghan Markle, and she wasn’t even there!”
Ethan Slater Is Playing a Cop on Carrie Preston's CBS Show 'Elsbeth'
Before his lead role on the quirky procedural, Pierce, 61, played Meghan’s onscreen dad in Suits, which ran from 2011 to 2019. Meghan filmed her final scene for Suits in 2017 amid her engagement to Harry, 40. Meghan later departed the series, moved to the U.K. and married the Duke of Sussex in 2018.
“It was the last night of working and I said, ‘Meghan, your life is going to change, and you’re going to be in a bubble, but just always remember, no matter what, I’m your friend, you have lots of friends,'” he recalled on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? in March 2024. “‘We’re always thinking about you, we’ll always be there for you. And you know, no matter where you are, always know you have a friend in me.'”

Harry and Meghan’s time in the U.K. was full of ups and downs and the couple made headlines in 2020 when they announced that they were stepping back from their duties as working members of the royal family. Harry and Meghan confirmed in February 2021 that they would not return to their senior roles and instead moved to California with son Prince Archie, now 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet, now 3.
While Harry and Meghan were only mentioned on Elsbeth in passing, other celebrities have made onscreen cameos. Jane Krakowski, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Blair Underwood, Keegan-Michael Key, Laura Benanti and Vanessa Williams are just some of the stars who have played fictional roles since Elsbeth premiered in 2024.
Elsbeth airs on CBS Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.

Jack Wagner Returns to 'The Bold and the Beautiful' Amid Brooke, Ridge Split
Jack Wagner is all set to reprise his popular Bold and the Beautiful character — more than two decades after he first joined the long-running soap.
The actor, 65, will return as Nick Marone in scenes set to air from mid June, Deadline reported on Thursday, April 10. The outlet reported that Wagner is already back on set and kicked off filming on Thursday, April 10.
Wagner played Nick on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2003 to 2012 and last made an appearance on the show in 2022 for the soap’s 35th anniversary special.
The character’s upcoming return comes just as fan favorite couple Brooke Logan (played by Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) long term on-again, off-again relationship is falling apart. This time, it could be over for good.
Jack Wagner Says Women Are Still 'Overwhelmed' When They See Him in Public
Nick was previously romantically linked to Brooke during his time on the show. His unexpected arrival to Los Angeles this time around could be a chance for Brooke to move on from Ridge and reignite an old romance.
His return could also spell trouble for Ridge, who he has had his ups and downs with over the years. Nick was at times an ally to Ridge but his romantic pursuits with Brooke often caused tension.
Wagner currently stars on the Hallmark Channel’s When Calls The Heart and recently name-dropped Lang as he credited his scene partners as being the driving forces behind the success of most of the shows he’s worked on throughout his career.

“I think the success of [When Calls the Heart] has to do with Erin Krakow, our lead actress. I’ve always felt that way about any show that I’ve been on,” Wagner explained to Us. “It was Heather [Locklear] from Melrose, it was Bold and the Beautiful with Katherine Kelly Lang.”
The Bold and the Beautiful premiered in 1987 and since then has followed the ongoing drama surrounding the Forrester family and the Logan family. The families have endured conflict across several generations — with the characters of Brooke and Ridge embroiled in much of the drama and sizzling story lines over the years. Lang has played Brooke since the first season debuted in the 1980s.
Jack Wagner Gives an Update on His Relationship With Ex Heather Locklear
Speaking to Us Weekly last month, actress Heather Tom, who has played Katie Lang since 2007, touched on the family’s enduring legacy that still resonates with fans.
“It’s Romeo and Juliet, right? House divided. The characters have such histories,” Tom, 49, told Us. “You have decades and decades and decades of history to be played and that’s one of the most unique things about our genre.”

Blake Lively Accuses Justin Baldoni of ‘Scorched Earth’ Legal Tactics
Blake Lively’s legal team has accused Justin Baldoni’s side of using “scorched earth litigation” to prevent people speaking out against alleged sexual harassment perpetrators.
Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, lawyers for Lively, shared a statement with Us Weekly on Thursday, April 10, accusing Baldoni of attempting to “tear down” laws that protect accusers.
“Mr. Baldoni has gone from monetizing a brand devoted to believing and supporting women, to leading the charge to tear down the very law that protects women who come forward about sexual assault, harassment and discrimination.” the statement to Us reads. “California’s sexual harassment privilege, AB 933, was enacted to stop perpetrators of sexual harassment from abusing defamation lawsuits to sue their accusers into oblivion.”
The legal back and forth between Lively and Baldoni, who worked together on It Ends With Us, began in December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and conducting a “smear campaign” against her. The same month, Baldoni, 41, launched separate lawsuits against The New York Times, who reported the allegations, and Lively, 37, alleging defamation among other claims. (All parties involved have vehemently denied all allegations against them.)
Blake Lively Officially Files Lawsuit Against ‘It Ends With Us’ Director Justin Baldoni
In Thursday’s statement, Hudson and Gottlieb added that Baldoni’s team’s legal tactics sent a “chilling message.”
“The chilling message scorched earth litigation sends to victims is stay silent or be destroyed,” the statement reads. “As demonstrated in the reply brief Ms. Lively filed today, the Wayfarer Parties’ attempt to slap Ms. Lively with a retaliatory lawsuit for her decision to speak out against the sexual harassment she experienced on set has not only failed miserably but exposes them to substantial economic damages. Ms. Lively will continue to show all victims that they are not alone, that they do not have to stay silent, and that the law is on their side.”
Lively’s team filed a reply brief on Thursday, April 10 as they attempt to have the lawsuit against the actress dismissed, claiming in documents seen by Us Weekly that “Wayfarer Parties have tied themselves in knots trying to state a defamation claim against Ms. Lively that is not barred by the statute of limitations or wholly contained within her Legal Complaints, which they concede cannot form the basis of any actionable claims.”

Late last month, Lively’s lawyers filed the motion to dismiss while calling Baldoni’s claims “vengeful and rambling” and an abuse of the legal system. The paperwork argued that the California Civil Code Section 47.1 prohibits retaliatory lawsuits tied to public disclosures of sexual harassment.
Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, responded to the motion on Thursday, April 3, by defending Baldoni’s complaint, which allegedly provides details of “Lively’s calculated efforts first to extort and manipulate” Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production team “into ceding total control over the film It Ends with Us and then to defame and scapegoat them when her plan backfired.”
Blake Lively's Lawyers Denounce 'More Attacks' From Justin Baldoni
“Ms. Lively and her circle of Hollywood elites cannot prevent my clients from exercising their constitutional right to petition the court to clear their names from her false and harmful claims,” read Freedman’s statement on April 3. “What Ms. Lively is attempting to do is to set a dangerous precedent by barring the courthouse doors to my clients and punishing them for having their day in court, a right protected by the First Amendment.”
The response continued: “This right protects not only Mr. Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties in this particular case, but all Americans in the future who have false accusations levied against them and seek relief from our justice system. This must stop here, and we will continue to fight against this blatant attempt to block access to the court system and to weaken our nation’s Constitution to serve those who are in the position of power.”

Is Joshua Jackson the Father of Phillipa Soo's Baby on 'Doctor Odyssey'?
Doctor Odyssey finally answered the paternity question we have all been waiting for — is the father of Phillipa Soo‘s baby Joshua Jackson or Sean Teale?
During the Thursday, April 10, episode of the hit ABC series, Max (Jackson) and Tristan (Teale) gave samples so Avery (Soo) could determine who was the dad to her unborn child. The answer? No one. Avery found out she was never pregnant and accidentally received a false positive due to a cyst, which made her think she was expecting a baby for weeks.
Doctor Odyssey had Us on the edge of our seats since the medical drama introduced a threesome between Avery, Max and Tristan earlier this season that escalated into a condom breaking — and a pregnancy. (The show followed that up with Captain Massey (Don Johnson) and Heather (Shania Twain) reconnecting during Cougar Week, which also led to a pregnancy.)
“[Creator] Ryan [Murphy]‘s imagination is prolific and bizarre in its ability to hold [space] for the absolutely grotesque and absurd — and then there are his lighter and happier shows. All of that being inside of one man’s imagination is amazing,” Jackson, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly in March. “I will say that for myself, I have wanted to work for Ryan for quite a long time.”
Us Investigates How the New Slate of Medical TV Shows Differ From Each Other
Jackson praised Murphy for providing a platform for actors to explore more fun and light-hearted storytelling, adding, “Ryan’s word was sparkle. He said, ‘Make sure that my show sparkles.’ And we have tried to make sure that this show sparkles as much as possible and just hope that the joy that we feel in performing it and doing it all together is what comes across while you’re watching it.”

After being involved in quite a different love triangle on Dawson’s Creek, Jackson was proud to push boundaries on Doctor Odyssey.
“Well [our characters] didn’t have sex on Dawson’s Creek,” he said to Us with a smile. “I feel like Ryan’s approach to this is a much more adult approach than when I’ve done this on previous shows. It was a ballsy thing to do to not just have the triangle be consummated but to have them consummated together. I have to say [that is] one of the things I’m most proud of [with] us this year.”
Best Medical TV Shows of All Time: ‘ER,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and More
Jackson broke down the dynamic between Max, Tristan and Avery.

“There are still certain limitations and restrictions to doing something on network television because of the standards and practice issues that you deal with. [We were] able to take something that is very challenging and daring and play inside of the box of network TV,” Jackson told Us. “We got to explore what you can and cannot show and still created a scene that I think is very sexy and challenging.”
He continued: “It was within the boundaries of what we are allowed to do [and] that is one of the high watermarks of what we were able to achieve from directorial to writing to acting. Everybody came together to make something that you really hadn’t seen before — particularly on network TV. I think we did a pretty good job with that.”
Doctor Odyssey airs on ABC Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Hulu.

Shawn Hatosy Breaks Down Dr. Abbot's Surprising ‘The Pitt’ Finale Reveal
Nothing prepared The Pitt fans for Dr. Jack Abbot’s season 1 finale reveal.
Warning: Spoilers for The Pitt season 1 finale, “9:00 P.M.,” below.
The Thursday, April 10, episode of HBO’s hit medical drama brought an end to Dr. Robby’s (Noah Wyle) nightmarish 15-hour shift in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital emergency room. It also offered a hint at combat veteran Dr. Abbot’s (Shawn Hatosy) past by revealing him to be a single-leg amputee.
“I knew from the beginning,” Hatosy, 49, told Us Weekly exclusively about his character’s reveal. “This revelation at the end is a big surprise to many of our characters who just met Abbot that day. But it’s also a big surprise for the audience.”
The Pitt's Taylor Shuts Down Potential Mel, Langdon Romance: 'She's Asexual'
Hatosy said that the reveal did exactly what it was intended.

“Him being a single leg amputee doesn’t define him,” the actor declared. “What defines him is not this injury, it’s his strength, it’s his presence, it’s his talent in emergency medicine. He’s the guy that you want in the room when things are failing.”
Hatosy further explained that there was a discussion before filming about having Abbot “work with some kind of physical attribute” before filming — however, they decided against it.
“We felt that would maybe tip it in a certain way,” he said. “I definitely had it in my mind when I had to move fast. I tried to keep it a secret, without going too fast. But it’s amazing with these prosthetics, how mobile you can be now with the technology. It’s incredible, really.”
Fans were introduced to Dr. Abbot during The Pitt’s series premiere back in January when Dr. Robby found him “literally on the roof about to jump” off the hospital. While Abbot leaves work in a “very emotional place” following his night shift, the doctor returns when a mass shooting at the fictional PittFest music festival contributes to a large number of casualties.
The Pitt's Isa Briones Says Internalized Sexism Caused Santos, Langdon Bias
“When Abbot returns, he says, ‘I was listening to my police scanner’ and shows up with a go bag,” Hatosy tells Us, explaining how that one line tells viewers exactly who Abbot is — and why he’s become a fan favorite among viewers.
“I think it’s just that his flaws are human and relatable. Despite them, or maybe because of them, people respect him, and they trust him. They want him in the room when everything’s failing.”
“I’ve never experienced a character that has received this much attention, who’s been universally liked,” Hatosy added. “I’ve carved out a lot of characters over the years.”
All episodes of The Pitt season 1 are now streaming via Max.

What to Know About ‘The Pitt’ Season 2: From Possible Cast Exits to Spinoffs
The Pitt has been renewed for a second season — but what possible changes could the Max series go through?
The medical drama, which premiered in January 2025, highlighted the highs and lows of working in emergency medicine with an unconventional approach — 15 episodes that showcase 15 hours of one shift.
The Pitt ultimately turned into weekly appointment viewing, which marked Noah Wyle‘s second successful medical series. ER, which aired from 1994 to 2009, followed the inner life of an emergency room in a fictionalized version of Chicago’s real Cook County Hospital. Wyle starred alongside George Clooney, Julianna Marguiles, Anthony Edwards, Eriq La Salle and Sherry Stringfield (and later John Stamos, Mekhi Pfifer and Linda Cardellini).
More than a decade after ER ended, Wyle returned as the star and executive producer of The Pitt. One month after its debut, The Pitt won over fans and critics alike and earned itself a second season.

Keep scrolling for everything to know about season 2 of Max’s The Pitt:
When Will Season 2 Premiere?
The second installment is expected to premiere in January 2026.
Will There Be a Time Jump in Season 2?

During an appearance at Deadline’s “Contenders TV” panel in April 2025, executive producer R. Scott Gemmill revealed that season 2 of the hit Max series will take place over the Fourth of July weekend. Gemmill confirmed that the new episodes will pick up 10 months after the season 1 finale.
Who Would Reprise Their Characters for Season 2?

It hasn’t been confirmed whether the same cast will return for season 2 but the day shift was made up of Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle), Dr. Collins (Tracy Ifeachor), Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball), Dana (Katherine LaNasa), Dr. Moha (Supriya Ganesh), Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif), Dr. King (Taylor Dearden), Dr. Santos (Isa Briones), Whitaker (Gerran Howell) and Javadi (Shabana Azeez).
There is also the night shift to consider including Dr. Abbot (Shawn Hatosy), Dr. Shen (Ken Kirby) and Dr. Ellis (Ayesha Harris).
Noah Wyle Breaks His Silence About ‘ER’ Lawsuit Over ‘The Pitt’
Could There Be a Spinoff of ‘The Pitt’?

Speaking of the night shift, fans were immediately intrigued by the batch of new characters who work overnight. If season 2 returns to following the day shift, is there a chance their replacements could get their own show?
“I want to keep going with him as far as they want to go. I enjoy the show so much,” Hatosy told Us in April 2025 about expanding the universe. “It’s like a theater troupe. It’s a wonderful thing to collaborate on, and sky’s the limit. If they wanna make a [The] Pitt: Night Shift, I am all in, wholeheartedly.”
What Does the Cast Know About The Pitt’s Future?

“As we were shooting, we asked them [about the season 2 setup] and they said, ‘We have no idea what we’re going to do yet.’ They are very good at what they do,” Dearden told Us in February 2025. “We have no information but it would be interesting to see the next day, I don’t think it’s going to be pick up right there [though].”
Which Story Lines Still Need to Be Addressed in Season 2?
The major opened-ended arc belongs to Ball’s character Langdon. The senior resident originally was dismissed by Robby after the senior attending was tipped off about Langdon stealing opioids from patients to treat his own drug addiction. Langdon returned during the mass shooting to assist but ended on bad terms with Robby — and refused to get help.
Where Did Season 1 Leave Off?

During the season 1 finale, which aired in April 2025, Dr. Robby and the rest of the day shift concluded their cases before heading out for the night. He was still dealing with the fallout of not being able to save his ex-girlfriend’s son Jake’s girlfriend. Collins was recovering from a miscarriage, Mohan was questioning her work and life balance, McKay was nearly arrested and more.
Who Could Leave Before Season 2?
In addition to Langdon, Dana and Javadi were the ones most likely not to return to season 2 after a tumultuous day shift.

'The Pitt' Season 1 Ending Explained: How Did the Shift End? Who Might Leave?
The Pitt finale didn’t just wrap up the first shift — it also hinted at multiple possible cast exits.
During the Thursday, April 10, episode of the hit Max series, Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) and the rest of the day shift concluded their cases before heading out for the night. Robby was still struggling with the weight of the mass shooting as Dana (Katherine LaNasa) and Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) supported him.
The hospital staff wrapped up but several characters including Dana and Javadi’s (Shabana Azeez) respective futures at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital remained unclear. The Pitt, which premiered in January, follows a group of employees at a fictional Pittsburgh hospital’s ER working a single 15-hour shift.
One month after its debut, the show was renewed for a second season, which is expected to air in January 2026. The next installment will be set months later during July 4th weekend. Before season 1 came to an end, star Isa Briones applauded The Pitt for its medical accuracy.
Noah Wyle Breaks His Silence About ‘ER’ Lawsuit Over ‘The Pitt’
“The 10 of us doctors all got medical bootcamp for two weeks before we started filming, which was so helpful,” Briones, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly in February. “On set we always have [technical advisor] Dr. Joe Sachs — he’s there all the time.”
She added: “[They] cycle through every episode. So a different doctor is assigned to every episode and they handle choreographing all of the big trauma scenes — anything that involves medical choreography. But the bootcamp was so helpful because it’s not like they can teach us how to be a doctor in two weeks, obviously. But it gave us the tools and gave us the language of the right questions to ask when we are actually choreographing something like that.”
Keep scrolling to find out where each character on The Pitt ended up:
Dr. Robby Robinavitch

While wrapping up for the day, Robby tried to speak with his ex-girlfriend’s son after not being able to save his girlfriend after a mass shooting. Jake wasn’t having it and instead told Robby that he wasn’t his father to hurt him. Robby struggled mentally but pep talks from Dana and Abbot helped him before he headed home.
Dr. Heather Collins

Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) never returned after leaving the hospital because she presumably was getting some rest after experiencing a miscarriage at work.
Dr. Frank Langdon

The first season wrapped up with one final conversation between Langdon (Patrick Ball) and Robby (Noah Wyle), which turned into an argument. The mentor-mentee shouted at each other as Robby headed back into the hospital but Langdon’s fate remained unknown after he refused to get help for his addiction.
Dana Evans

After getting punched earlier in the season, Dana heavily hinted that she was ready to leave her job. She mentioned it to Langdon and Robby before quietly collecting her valuables from her desk and potentially leaving Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital for good.
Us Investigates How the New Slate of Medical TV Shows Differ From Each Other
Dr. Samira Moha

The finale started with Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) still riding a high after working on overdrive. She eventually came back down — and briefly cried in the bathroom — before wrapping up for the day. Mohan also debated whether her life was fulfilling if she didn’t have a life outside of work before reuniting with her coworkers for an after-shift drink.
Dr. Cassie McKay

Despite getting arrested for tampering with her ankle monitor, McKay (Fiona Dourif) was quickly set free when Robby stepped in and pointed out how many lives she saved — including a police officer’s. She left the hospital to reunite with her son at home.
Dr. Mel King

Mel’s (Taylor Dearden) first shift ended with her getting to do the spinal tap on the boy with measles. She then picked up her sister and they headed for dinner — and a movie — while Mel was obviously exhausted.
Dr. Trinity Santos

The last case of Santos’ (Isa Briones) shift gave her a chance to work on her bedside manner. After suspecting that a guy tried to die by suicide, she offered him support and opened up about her own issues with mental health, which inspired him to get help.
Santos also discovered a secret about Whitaker (Gerran Howell) that led to her getting a roommate.
Dennis Whitaker

Following his shift, Whitaker was seen by Santos heading to an abandoned part of the hospital. It turned out he had no home and has been squatting on an empty floor of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical. Santos offered him a place to stay, which he accepted.
Best Medical TV Shows of All Time: ‘ER,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and More
Victoria Javadi

The chaotic 15-hour shift seemed to make Javadi reconsider emergency medicine but then Mateo (Jalen Thomas Brooks) invited her to an after-work drink with some of their coworkers and suddenly Javadi was back in.
Dr. Jack Abbot

Abbot wrapped up his shift along with Robby and joined the others for a drink. It was subsequently revealed that Abbot is an amputee — presumably from his time in the military.
