Twenty years on from the group’s genre-splicing debut album, Mark Beaumont talks to those who were there, from The Rapture to Hot Chip, about the most influential New York band of the Noughties
Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman has never shied away from professing his love for his support system off the field: wife Joanna Freeman.
Marcus and Joanna got married in 2010 after meeting while Marcus was a star linebacker at The Ohio State University. Along the way, they have welcomed six kids together: son Vinny, daughter Siena, son Gino, son Nico, daughter Capri and son Rocco.
Before being named the head coach at Notre Dame in December 2021, Marcus’ coaching journey took him all over — from his Ohio State alma mater and Kent State to Purdue and four seasons at the University of Cincinnati as the school’s defensive coordinator.
Joanna, a former news anchor, has always been candid about the highs and lows of life as a football wife.
“We don’t have a super romantic love story,” Joanna told Yahoo! Sports in 2021. “We had a lot of breakups and make-ups. We fell hard. We fell fast. We were really young when we met, and in a lot of ways, we really grew and matured into adults together.”
For Marcus’s best quotes about Joanna, keep reading.

Marcus celebrated the couple’s 9-year anniversary with a post via Instagram.
“9 years and 6 kids later she still chooses to be called Mrs. Freeman. Happy anniversary,” Marcus wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the couple from their 2010 wedding.
Joanna responded in the comments, “We haven’t changed a bit! Love YOU! .”
May 2019
Marcus posted via Instagram about a hectic Mother’s Day weekend that involved a trip to the emergency room for their daughter, Capri.
“Crazy weekend: our 1 year old breaks her arm; our oldest wins his wrestling tourney; and most importantly we celebrated Mother’s Day with this unselfish woman who is the glue to our family,” Marcus wrote alongside a trio of photos, including one of Capri showing off her new arm sling.

To celebrate the couple’s milestone 10th wedding anniversary, Marcus posted a carousel of photos via Instagram spanning the history of their relationship.
“Celebrating 10 years of being married to the love of my life and the glue to the Freeman family,” Marcus wrote. “Happy anniversary Jo!”
Marcus showed off photos from a family beach photoshoot via Instagram to commemorate Joanna’s birthday.
“Wishing the happiest of birthdays to the Freeman rock!” Marcus wrote. “Thank you for all you do Mrs. Freeman. We love you.”
May 2021
Marcus gushed about his wife’s ability to run the family household in a post to celebrate Mother’s Day.
“I don’t know how you do it but somehow you make raising 6 kids by yourself seem like it’s nothing Happy Mother’s Day to the best ever! #YouTheBest#YouTheBestEver,” he wrote via Instagram.
December 2021
During his introductory press conference after being named the head coach at Notre Dame, Marcus took time to mention Joanna as he wrapped up his remarks.
“Lastly, there’s a few thank yous I want to give,” Marcus said. “I want to start with my wife, Joanna. My wife, my partner, thank you for your unselfishness. Thank you for always being there and your support most of the time. You can be my toughest critic, but thank you for just being there.”
May 2023
Freeman also gave a special shoutout to his mother, Chong Freeman, in his Mother’s Day post in 2023.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing Moms out there, today we celebrate you!” he wrote via Instagram. “I’m especially grateful for these two special women—my wife, Joanna, and my Mom!”
May 2024
Marcus mentioned both Joanna and his mother to celebrate Mother’s Day in 2024.
“I’m so blessed to have these two amazing women in my life,” Marcus wrote via Instagram, sharing pictures of him with both of them. “They have impacted our family in so many ways with their selflessness and unconditional love. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible moms out there!”
December 2024
During an appearance on former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III’s podcast “Outta Pocket With RGIII,” Marcus called Joanna “the most unselfish wife in the world.”
“A lot of times she is a single parent,” Marcus continued. “And the other part is that I try to blend. There’s no balance. There is not a balance being a head coach and being a husband and father. So, I try to blend my family with our football family as much as I can. My wife can bring two kids and just let them run around at practice.”
Marcus concluded, “I want our players to see me as a father and husband.”
Steven Weber and Tim Daly no longer play TV brothers, but Weber would happily reunite with his former Wings costar on Chicago Med.
Weber — who plays Dr. Dean Archer on the NBC drama — already has an idea for a ChicagoMed story line that would be both funny and embarrassing for Daly, 68.
“It would be great if he came on as himself,” Weber, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly of Daly while promoting season 10 of Chicago Med.
The actor teased that in his dream scenario, Daly “suddenly finds himself in Chicago and I’ve got to operate on him. And he keeps saying, ‘God, you remind me of somebody,’” hinting at their past connection.
Weber joked that no matter who Daly played on a hypothetical Med episode, his character, Dr. Archer, would “have to give him some embarrassing operation, like, a colonoscopy.”
The One Chicago star noted, “It would be huge” to get Daly to come onto the medical drama, noting that they had yet to discuss the possibility.
Weber and Daly previously played brothers Brian Michael Hackett and Joe Montgomery Hackett, respectively, on Wings.
The comedy ran for eight seasons — from 1990 to 1997 — and centered around Brian and Joe as they tried to run an airline on the New England island of Nantucket. The cast also included Crystal Bernard, David Schramm, Rebecca Schull, Tony Shalhoub and Thomas Haden Church.
Weber previously revealed that there is a “slim” chance that he and Daly could reunite for a Wings reunion on camera. “We’re all around, so if the public really demands it [then, maybe],” he teased during a March 2020 appearance on The Talk.
Weber explained at the time that he was just “so grateful” to still be a part of the acting industry. “If we never have some sort of reboot, that’s fine. We did a good show and people love it,” he added.
While Weber told Us that he is all-in on Daly popping up on Chicago Med at some point, he said there are a lot of other things to look forward to as season 10 continues.
“There are more nuanced aspects to his staying on,” Weber said of Archer’s decision not to leave the Emergency Department after successfully saving Sharon Goodwin’s (S. Epatha Merkerson) life during the midseason premiere earlier this month.
The actor noted that even though Archer is staying on that doesn’t mean it’ll be smooth sailing. (Archer previously slid his resignation letter under Goodwin’s door during the midseason finale in fall 2024. At the time, he didn’t know Goodwin had been stabbed by a stalker in her office and was fighting to stay alive.)
“This incident really affects him, and it affects him emotionally down the line,” Weber said, referring to Goodwin almost dying on his operating table.
He added that while Archer’s job is secure for now, he will have “some surprises going forward” in his personal life.
Weber told Us that Archer’s “connection” to fellow doctor Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) will also be a big part of season 10’s remaining episodes.
He called Archer a “fatherly or brotherly” figure for Hannah. “There’s something there that he’s not used to that he hasn’t … really experienced that he’s experiencing with her,” Weber shared.
He concluded that Archer and Asher’s bond is complex, especially now that Asher is romantically involved with Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell). “He wants her to be happy, but he also feels kind of protective of her,” Weber revealed.
Nina Dobrev is reflecting on the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires — and is encouraging her fans to do the same.
“Hi everyone. It’s been such a tragic time in Los Angeles recently,” Dobrev, 36, said in a Sunday, January 19, Instagram post. “I have been absolutely sick to my stomach with all the destruction and devastation that these fires have caused and displaced so many families. My heart is broken for all the people affected by these wildfires.”
Dobrev explained that she was among the tens of thousands of people who evacuated their homes due to the wildfires that began earlier this month. Dobrev left her home on January 9, which was her 36th birthday.
“Definitely not how I planned on spending my birthday,” Dobrev said. “But I wanted to make this video to thank everyone for their birthday wishes and to make a request. I don’t know about you, but I have been feeling survivor’s guilt.”
Dobrev noted that her home was “close to one of the fires,” but ultimately “made it.” She added, “But so many others were not so lucky.”
Dobrev encouraged her followers to donate, linking a spreadsheet in her bio that highlights the GoFundMe links of “many of the families” who lost their homes.
“What people really need right now is financial aid to help them get back on their feet and start rebuilding their lives and their homes,” she said. “The Pacific Palisades, the Altadena-Pasadena community, in particular, needs it the most.”
For her birthday, Dobrev donated to the GoFundMe pages and said she “would love it” if her followers could do the same gesture — small or big donations.
“I put myself in the shoes of all these people whose homes have burned down to the ground with their belongings, their memories, their everything that made them feel safe in the world now gone, and their insurance dropped them,” Dobrev said. “For some of them, the level of tragedy is immeasurable and it’s really hard to comprehend. They’ve lost everything.”
Dobrev said her heart has broken into “a million pieces” for the families impacted by the fires. Dobrev concluded her video by sharing that she was thinking of those affected, saying, “My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.”
“The devastation in LA is immeasurable and heartbreaking This is my plea to help. For my birthday, my only wish this year is that you help a family in need,” Dobrev captioned her post. “I’ve donated to the families on the Google doc that is linked in my bio. If you have been seeing all of the pictures and videos online and if you want to help too, please consider donating as well. There is a dedicated section for the black families & other historically marginalized groups in the Altadena community who have been hit especially hard.”
She concluded, “Thank you for your support always, but especially now. The road to rebuilding and healing for so many families who have lost everything starts now, and it will be a long one… #LosAngelesfires.”

The Oklahoma native shot to fame in 2005 after becoming the champion of the TV singing competition’s fourth season. Following the success of her debut single, “Inside Your Heaven,” which made her the first country music artist to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, she released her album Some Hearts.
And Underwood’s career was only just beginning. Hot on the heels of “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats” taking over radio stations, she won her first two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, in 2007.
She was honored in 2018 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but her biggest accomplishment is becoming a mother. Underwood shares two sons, Isaiah and Jacob, with husband Mike Fisher, whom she wed in 2010.

Rachel Lindsay was beaming as she stepped out for a college football event in Atlanta just weeks after finalizing her divorce from Bryan Abasolo.
The former Bachelorette, 39, smiled from ear to ear while attending the 11th Annual Allstate Party at The Playoff on Saturday, January 18.
Lindsay wore a black blouse and black skirt with a black and gold belt and black suede boots for the bash, which was hosted by ESPN and the College Football Playoff ahead of the National Championship game on Monday. (Ohio State University and University of Notre Dame will play in Atlanta on Monday night.)
The former reality star topped off her party look with a brown suede overcoat, a black necklace and a golden charm necklace. She wore her hair down with a slight wave. Lindsay’s best accessory, however, might’ve been her big, white smile.
The college football event marked Lindsay’s first public outing since Us confirmed that she and Abasolo, 44, finalized their divorce on January 7.
Lindsay and Abasolo fell in love during season 13 of The Bachelorette, which aired in 2017. They got married two years later after getting engaged on the show.
Abasolo filed for divorce in January 2024, listing their date of separation as December 31, 2023.
The estranged couple quickly found themselves in a messy legal battle in part because they didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding.
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2024 that Lindsay was ordered to pay her ex-husband $13,257 a month in temporary spousal support. She was also ordered by a judge to pay Abasolo $15,000 in attorney’s fees and $5,000 for forensic expert expenses.
When it comes to their divorce settlement, Us confirmed that Abasolo “waives, discharges and releases” Lindsay from “any and all” future payments. However, the January filing revealed that Lindsay still owes Abasolo $460,229.
Outside of Lindsay’s outstanding payments to Abasolo, the former spouses appeared to come to a somewhat equal agreement for splitting their properties.
Abasolo will keep their Miami home and his 2021 Honda Accord, according to the docs. Lindsay, meanwhile, gets to keep her engagement and wedding rings along with her California home and 2023 Porsche Macan.
Days before finalizing her divorce, Lindsay reflected on her rocky 2024 and all the positives that came from her journey.
“WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES!!! Literally crying as I write this because I am looking back on this year and am so thankful for the friends, family and moments that lifted me up, encouraged me, and just made me laugh through it all,” she captioned a December 31, 2024, Instagram post, featuring clips of Lindsay hosting different shows, attending football games and traveling with friends.
She added: “I am a living testimony because This time last year I was crying tears of sadness and confusion BUT this year I have tears full of happiness and hopefulness. Here’s to believing you are stronger than you think! I am so grateful and excited for 2025!! .”
Kelly Stafford is praising her husband, Matthew Stafford, after the Los Angeles Rams were defeated in the divisional round of the playoffs — and wondering about a possible retirement.
“Aren’t enough words to express how proud I am,” Kelly, 35, wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 20. “I joke about us being old and tired but honestly I could never get tired of watching you out there or watching our girls cheer for their daddy.”
Kelly also shared a carousel of photos from the Sunday, January 19, game against the Philadelphia Eagles. In one image, Kelly and Matthew’s daughters surrounded the Rams quarterback, 36, as he leaned down to talk with them. (Kelly and Matthew, who wed in 2015, share four daughters: twins Chandler and Sawyer, born in March 2017, Hunter, born in August 2018, and Tyler, born in June 2020.)
“I’m wondering if this is the end or not … guess we will find out,” Kelly concluded.
Following the loss, Matthew shared he would “take some time to think” about his future in the NFL. “But I feel like I was playing some pretty good ball,” Matthew told reporters on Sunday. When asked whether he has football left in him, Matthew replied, “Sure feels like it.”
Ahead of the game, Kelly and their four daughters were seen giving Matthew words of encouragement on the field. Matthew got down on one knee and hugged his daughters as Kelly leaned into the huddle. “Pregame group hug for the Stafford family,” the NFL’s official Instagram account wrote over a post on Sunday.
Kelly and their daughters have been by Matthew’s side during the NFL season, even while battling illness. After the Rams’ game against the Minnesota Vikings on January 13 was relocated, the Rams organization organized a plane for the team and their families to travel together to the game.
“We were sick on that flight,” Kelly admitted on the January 15 episode of her “Morning After” podcast. “There was a huge guilt factor to me going, ‘Should we be on this plane right now because of everyone surrounding us and everyone who has to play this game?’”
Before Kelly and her daughters got on the plane, she reached out to others in the Ram family for advice. “They were like, ‘Get your ass on that plane. We all need to be together,’” Kelly said. “That was such an incredible thing for me to hear because there was a little bit of like, ‘Should I just stay back with my children?’”
Matthew also insisted that Kelly and the girls travel with him to the matchup. “Matthew was like, ’No, we will do whatever it takes. We are all getting on this plane. We are going to be together right now,’” Kelly said.
Despite the hesitation, Kelly was ultimately glad that she attended the game — which the Rams won. “That win, besides the Super Bowl [in 2022], was probably my favorite win while being a Ram,” Kelly gushed.
From the delicious food to top-tier fashion and stunning views, there’s something magical going on within the Italian land. So it comes as no surprise to Us that skincare from the region is just world-class as well. Meant to channel a glow that’s as radiant as the moon an Italian night, this crystal-infused serum will deliver hydrated and bright skin like no other.
Mixing traditional Italian excellence with cutting-edge Western wellness is the Moonkissed Radiant Skin Restorative Serum-Oil by Ieró Beauty. It was made entirely in the heart of la dolce vita, is crystal-infused and contains an array of all-natural ingredients. With a range of benefits for the skin, it brightens, hydrates, fights signs of aging and has many other holistic properties as well.
The two-in-one face oil and serum has a power-packed ingredient list with several high-performing stars. The alba and sunflower seed oils were included to add a youthful bounce and extra shine. The pomegranate peel and grapefruit extracts clam inflammation and boosts the skin’s barrier. The blend is antioxidant rich and has mineral-derived compounds as well help to fight fine lines and protect against the elements.
A rare find on the skincare market, this serum-oil is just as good for the vibes as it is for the skin. As mentioned, it’s infused with crystals from the heart of Italy like moonstone, black onyx and malachite. They were each thoughtfully selected, as they all have healing properties like helping to detoxify the skin (and spirit), bring good fortune, provide protection and boost confidence. I mean . . . what else could we ask for in your skincare?!
If you thought the benefits of the serum stopped there . . . think again! The serum even includes three aromatherapeutic ingredients, meant for mood boosting as well. They include lavender, chamomile and frankincense, which can help with de-stressing and relaxation. The serum-oil is also kind-to-the-microbiome certified (a.k.a. it’s gentle on the skin) and is free from the bad stuff too, like microplastics, fragrance, parabens, silicone and more. Application is easy, simply add 3 to 4 drops to your hands and press into your skin right after having washed it.
This serum-oil is so outstanding that if it had one more benefit, we’d think it’s mythical. Thankfully, it’s the real deal in gold standard skincare. Crystals, anti-aging, aromatherapy and good vibes usually cost way more, but you can get this serum for just $78 — a major steal!
