Dora the Explorer Roasts Texans QB During Nickelodeon NFL Playoff Broadcast
Dora the Explorer provided some much-needed comic relief during the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers’ Wild Card playoff game.
The Saturday, January 11, matchup was concurrently broadcasted on CBS and Nickelodeon, with the animated character serving as an analyst alongside SpongeBob and Patrick from the hit kids’ show SpongeBob Squarepants.
After the Chargers forced a fumble to take possession of the ball in the first quarter, Dora couldn’t resist getting in a subtle dig at the Texans.
“Did you see the defense player?” Dora popped up to say, referring to Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. “I guess the quarterback didn’t either.”
SpongeBob Roasts Leonardo DiCaprio During Nickelodeon’s Super Bowl Stream
Swiper, one of Dora’s onscreen frenemies, chimed in to add, “Now, that’s how you swipe!” (The animated explorer notably tells the fox, “Swiper, no swiping” whenever he tries to steal something.)
The NFL shared footage on its TikTok page with the caption, “She didn’t hold back ,” inspiring many social media comments about her shady antics.
“Dora messy for that,” one user wrote, while another quipped, “Dora dissing CJ Stroud.”
A third pointed out that Nickelodeon was “making NFL Games far better than usual.”
Dora stuck around for the entire game, popping up here and there to define illegal holding and other terms for the (presumably younger) audience before lamenting the game’s score.
“Who needs a map to find the end zone?” Dora quipped, which she previously said during the first quarter of the 2024 Super Bowl featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
Baltimore Ravens Troll Taylor Swift, Chiefs Fans With 'Swag Surf' TD Dance
Nickelodeon has broadcast several NFL games, including the 2023 Christmas game — featuring a dedicated Taylor Swift camera as she cheered on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs — and the most recent championship matchup. At both games, Dora teamed up with Swiper and SpongeBob to explain the plays and share the scores with viewers.
Despite the Chargers forcing a fumble and subsequent turnover early on in Saturday’s game, the Texans recovered and handily won 32-2. The L.A. team’s season is now officially over, while the Texans move forward to the divisional playoffs.
In addition to the Texans, the Chiefs — who have a bye week during NFL’s Wild Card weekend after earning the No. 1 seed ranking — are still in the running alongside the Buffalo Bills, the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers also lost their Saturday game to the Ravens, eliminating them from playoff contention.
The AFC teams are all fighting for a chance to represent the conference in February’s Super Bowl against the winner of the NFC playoffs.
Super Bowl LIX takes place on Sunday, February 9, at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome and will feature a halftime performance from Kendrick Lamar.
Kim Kardashian Praises Incarcerated Firefighters Battling L.A. Flames
Kim Kardashian is using her massive platform to bring attention to a relatively unknown and overlooked group of firefighters battling the devastating Los Angeles fires.
“I have spent the last week watching my city burning. And have seen and spoken to many firefighter who are up all night long using every ounce of their strength to save our community,” Kardashian, 44, said in a series of posts shared via Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 11.
“Thank you to @calfire la County Fire and Los Angeles City Fire for everything you are doing to save lives, homes property,” she added.
Kardashian then went on to praise the incarcerated firefighters battling the flames. (According to a recent report from The New York Times, at least 900 prisoners are currently fighting the historic fires in and around the greater Los Angeles area.)
Celebrities Share Personal Photos of Heartbreaking Los Angeles Wildfires
“On all 5 fires in Los Angeles, there are hundreds of incarcerated firefighters, risking their lives to save us,” Kardashian explained. “They are on the Palisades fire and Eaton fire and Pasadena fire working 24 hour shifts. They get paid almost nothing, risk their lives, some have died, to prove to the community that they have changed and are now first responders. I see them as heroes.”
According to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in California, incarcerated firefighters in the area are “working to cut fire lines and remove fuel to slow fire spread,” as reported by The New York Times. “Their presence provides much-needed manpower to depleted fire crews,” the outlet writes.
“The incarcerated firefighters have been paid $1/hour to risk their lives and this pay has been the same since 1984,” Kardashian continues in her Instagram Stories. “It has never been raised with inflation. It’s never been raised when fires got worse and many [firefighters] died. This year there was an agreement to raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to $5/hour, but it got shot down last minute.”
Kardashian, who is also known for her prison reform advocacy work, then urged California Governor Gavin Newsom to increase the pay incarcerated firefighters receive when battling wildfires.
“I am urging @cagovernor to do what no Governor has done in 4 decades, and raise the incarcerated firefighters pay to a rate that honors a human being risking their life to save our lives and homes,” she wrote.
Which Stars Have Been Affected by the Los Angeles Fires?
At least 16 people have lost their lives as a result of the five wildfires burning around L.A., according to local officials. According to NBC News, the fires have burned through at least 37,000 acres and destroyed more than 12,000 structures.
A number of Hollywood celebrities — from Milo Ventimiglia and Anthony Hopkins to Eugene Levy and Paris Hilton — have lost their homes.
In her Saturday post, Kardashian also thanked the “firefighters from the @calfire Ventura Training Center for saving my community when it started burning this week.”
“These are all FORMERLY incarcerated firefighters who have come home, and want to continue serving our communities as firefighters,” she continued. “Due to bills passed by @antirecidivismcoalition, these guys can now get their sentences reduced, expunging the felonies from their records for their fire service. And when they come home can get six figure jobs working for the fire departments.”

Heidi Montag Tops Music Charts After Losing Home in L.A. Fire: ‘Oh My Gosh’
Heidi Montag is overwhelmed by her fans’ support after they helped her top the music charts following the loss of her home in the Pacific Palisades wildfire.
“Thank you so much to everyone. No. 1 on iTunes chart, oh my gosh,” Montag, 38, shared via an Instagram Stories video on Saturday, January 11. “Thank you for the overwhelming love and support of my music and really rallying behind us in this devastating time and making it such a blessing.”
Montag and her husband and fellow The Hills alum Spencer Pratt shared news that their home burned down in the wildfire on Tuesday, January 7. Since then, the couple have continued to post updates and plead with fans to support them financially amid their devastating loss.
As of Sunday, Montag’s album Superficial, which was originally released on January 11, 2010, topped the iTunes albums chart ahead of the likes of Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS and the Wicked movie soundtrack.

The titular song off the album also charted No. 1 ahead of “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars, “Are You Even Real” by Teddy Swims and GIVĒON, “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, “Smile” by Morgan Wallen and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey. Her song “I’ll Do It” also landed at No. 7.
“Thank you for helping support us, helping build us back up, helping to encourage us, give us that hope and faith and excitement in such a dark, dark time,” Montag continued in her video post. “No. 1, ahhh! Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it. And it’s the 15th anniversary of Superficial. So, the timing is just crazy. It’s so crazy, thank you…”
Celebrities including Paris Hilton and Jhené Aiko, who lost their homes in the wildfires as well, supported Montag on Pratt’s celebratory Instagram post. “Congrats @heidimontag ,” Hilton, 43, commented, with Aiko, 36, adding, “Love this!!!!!!! @heidimontag !!!”
Model Emily Ratajkowski also cheered on Montag by sharing a TikTok video of herself listening to the reality star’s “I’ll Do It.”
“Didn’t expect this Heidi Montag song to be the soundtrack to the 2025 apocalypse but you know what f*** yeah,” she wrote over the clip.
Pratt, 41, and Montag have had no qualms about asking for help after losing their home and belongings this week. In a video shared via TikTok on Friday, Pratt asked his followers to watch and like a previous video shared to his account, which featured the song “What It Feels Like” by Aly & AJ.
“I’ll get up to $1,100 from TikTok if it’s one of the top 10 most liked TikToks with that song, so more likely $200 it says, but it can go up to $1,100,” Pratt explained in the video. “So, if you’re bored, please go like that last video. It’s a great song actually and Aly & AJ wear Pratt Daddy Crystals — my friend Amber goes to all their shows and gives them all crystals so it’s kind of an authentic promo since they wear my crystals. I also want to get that $1,100.”
After receiving some backlash in the comments, Pratt shared on Friday, “Some demonic monster just wrote on my IG and tagged me, ‘Of course Spencer’s gonna milk his burned down house for every dollar it’s worth.’ Duh. Duh. That’s right. Let me figure out every dollar I can get.”
He continued: “How do you people not have brains? Are you just the stupidest living creatures? Of course I’m trying to get money to pay for my life with my family because our house and all of our possessions burned down. And if I can do it on social media, which I’ve been making the only money I’ve made for years now continuously, showing my journey of our house burning down and all of our possessions, do you not think I’m going to keep milking it for every dollar?”
Heidi Montag Shares Tearful Video After L.A. Fires Destroyed Her Home
Pratt and Montag, who have been married since 2008 and share sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months, also hoped fans would support them by choosing not to re-watch episodes of The Hills.
“Pretty much I’d rather you watch anything in the world but The Hills. Do not give that show a single dollar, or that narrator a single brain cell listening to her voice,” Pratt said in a video shared via TikTok, referring to Lauren Conrad. “No, there’s no residuals. So, pretty much, I’d rather have you watch paint dry, tag me in [you] staring at a wall — that would help my life more. Do not waste your energy watching The Hills thinking that helps our lives.”
As for a reality TV future, Pratt shared a possible new opportunity with Hulu amid his family’s heartbreaking situation. He asked fans to “spam” all of Hulu’s accounts so their social team could tell the network executives in an alleged meeting on Monday, “You better give Spencer and Heidi a new reality docuseries about rebuilding their lives and their house out of the rubble.”

Kylie Kelce Says She Had 'Severe Baby Blues' After Birth of 1st Daughter
Pregnant Kylie Kelce is getting candid about the highs and lows of new motherhood.
“I have had periods of my life where I truly believe I was experiencing postpartum [depression],” Kelce, 32, said during the Sunday, January 12, episode of the “Sunday Sports Club” podcast. “I know with Wyatt that I had severe baby blues. We left the hospital and I was like, ‘So, you’re telling me this is mine?’”
She continued, “I always tell people the biggest milestone for me with Wyatt was when she could smile and on purpose, because it showed that there was a connection. Most people will take their baby home and it’s this sensitized social media of, ‘Look at how beautiful my baby is.’ No, my baby cried from the bewitching hour at 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. if I wasn’t holding her or she wasn’t on my boob.”
Kylie welcomed her first child, daughter Wyatt, with husband Jason Kelce in October 2019. They later welcomed daughters Ellie and Bennett in 2021 and 2023, respectively. Kylie is currently pregnant with baby No. 4 — another girl.
Everything Jason Kelce and Pregnant Wife Kylie Have Said About Parenting
While speaking with podcast host Allison Kuch on Sunday’s episode, Kylie joked that she and Wyatt “were not cool” during their first few weeks together.
Wyatt is also Kylie and Jason’s rainbow baby after the field hockey coach said that she previously suffered a pregnancy loss.
“When we were about to have our first [child], my brain immediately [went] to, ‘We’re going to do it, like, there is no wavering here,” Kylie recalled. “That held true because I originally got pregnant the year before and miscarried when I went into our 13-week appointment. I found out I had a missed miscarriage and had to end up having a D&C a few days later.”
She added, “I was extremely fortunate [and] I think my body [and I] just weren’t on the same page. My body was like, ‘Oh, sorry, I didn’t know what we were doing.’ In my next full cycle, I got pregnant with Wyatt.”
With Wyatt, Kylie was due to give birth during Jason’s NFL season. (The 37-year-old Super Bowl champ played center for the Philadelphia Eagles for 14 seasons until his retirement in 2024.)
Jason Kelce Says He and Kylie Are 'Pretty Set' to Welcome Baby No. 4
“The most frequent question was, ‘What happens if you go into labor on game day?’” Kylie said. “Well, thank you so much for your concern about me. I am the type of person who’s just like, ‘I’m going to do it.’ So, a conversation I had if I go into labor … [while Jason had a game was], ‘I’m not telling you. I’ll tell you when you’re done. I’m not going to ask you to leave the game.’”
Luckily, Wyatt was born on a Wednesday “with a full induction” in between Jason’s Eagles commitments. He was able to witness his eldest child’s birth and then leave for his next game two days later.
Now that Jason is retired, baby No. 4’s birth will be less stressful.
“It’s significantly less planning, honestly,” Kylie said. “With Wyatt, there were so many conversations with our OBs, who are my saviors. I love them.”
