Andrew Rannells is down to dive into more onscreen drama and suspense with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.
“Well, [director] Paul Feig is always coming up with something,” Rannells, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly of a potential third installment in the A Simple Favor film series at the New York City special screening of his new movie, I Don’t Understand You, on Monday, June 2. “He doesn’t do sequels. He sort of broke his own rule to do this sequel.”
As for whether he would return for a potential third movie? “100 percent,” Rannells told Us, adding that he hopes it would take place somewhere “as beautiful as Italy.”
Rannells returned as Darren, a friend of Kendrick’s Stephanie, in Another Simple Favor, which premiered on Prime Video last month. Set five years after the events of 2018’s A Simple Favor, the sequel sees Emily (Lively) coerce Stephanie into being the maid of honor at her Italian wedding under the threat of filing a lawsuit for the book Stephanie published about the first film’s events.
The wedding trip doesn’t go to plan, as drama stirs between Emily’s fiancé’s (Michele Morrone) family and their organized crime rivals, family members from Emily’s past bring new secrets to light and a murder mystery ignites.
Rannell’s latest movie, I Don’t Understand You, shares many similarities with Another Simple Favor, as both are set in Italy and follow characters wrapped up in dangerous and unexpected circumstances.
The film stars Rannells and Nick Kroll as a couple looking to adopt a child who travel abroad for a romantic babymoon. After winding up at a remote restaurant, things go south when they accidentally kill someone. Chaos ensues as they try to cover up the crime.
“Brian Crano and David Craig, who wrote and directed the movie, just crafted this really wild ride of a script that really, when I started reading it, I was like, ‘Oh, it’s like a rom-com for Nick and I, like a gay rom-com. And we’re in Italy and that’s fun and it’ll be real pretty,’” Rannells told Us at the film’s screening. “And then we started murdering people. I didn’t see that coming.”
He added, “I know the audience knows that there’s some murder involved, but yeah, it was a real twist. And it was a nice reminder that, you know what, gay people can kill people too. It’s equality. It’s all about equality.”
Rannells could relate to his character getting close to achieving a goal before it fell apart, telling Us that an ex of his broke up with him just days before the 2011 Tony Awards, where he performed and was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in The Book of Mormon.
“I still had to take him to the Tonys because I was so overwhelmed,” he recalled. “And, in retrospect, that was not the right decision, but I was so overwhelmed by I had to perform, and you’re doing the show during the day, and I was like, ‘You know what? Just still come with me, I guess. We both have these tuxedos.’ But it was such an exciting, exciting moment for me personally, professionally, and then [it was] heartbreaking.”
Jennifer Garner shared a rare PDA moment with boyfriend John C. Miller during a recent outing.
Garner, 53, and Miller, 47, shared passionate kisses outside of Miller’s Los Angeles home on Friday, June 6, according to photos obtained by TMZ. The couple could be seen snuggling as a flannel-clad Garner slipped her hand in the back pocket of Miller’s pants.
Garner has been dating Miller— who is the chairman of investment firm Cali Group and CEO of portfolio company PopID — on and off since 2018. A source close to the couple exclusively told Us Weekly in April that Miller was “basically living with Jennifer part-time.”
“He has an office in L.A., and splits his time between staying there and at Jennifer’s home,” the insider told Us. “But he’s been staying with Jennifer more often [and] doesn’t want to impose, so he’s looking for his own place… [and] deciding whether he’ll rent or buy.”
Miller shares two children — Quest, 18, and Violet, 15 — with ex-wife Caroline Campbell. Garner, meanwhile, shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck: Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13.
Garner has maintained a close coparenting relationship with Affleck since their 2018 divorce. Affleck recently referred to Garner as a “good coparent and partner” while discussing what his life has been like since splitting with second wifeJennifer Lopez.
“We used to have a thing, my ex-wife [Garner] and I, when [the kids] would see something on a supermarket stand, we would say, well, ‘You know this isn’t always true because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant,’” Affleck told GQ.
He went on, “I’m really lucky that I have a really good coparent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well.”
Despite Affleck and Garner’s close coparenting relationship, a source close to the former couple told Us in March that they had no interest in getting back together.
“Their relationship has deepened since [Ben’s] divorce, but there is nothing romantic between them,” the source explained to Us. “There’s just a real trust and familiarity there… which makes it easier to coparent. They are family for life.”
A second source insisted to Us that Miller “doesn’t get jealous” of Affleck and Garner spending time together because he knows they are simply putting their children first.
“[Miller] understands Jennifer prioritizing her kids,” the source said. “[John] sleeps over at her home often. The way he talks about her is the same. There are no whispers of a status change in their relationship.”

Garner’s daughter, Violet, offered some insight into her family dynamic for an essay in Yale University’s student-run’s Yale Global Health Review in May. Violet wrote about spending a month in “Los Angeles arguing with [her] mother in a hotel room” when their community was threatened by the Pacific Palisades wildfires.
“She was shell-shocked, astonished at the scale of destruction in the neighborhood where she raised myself and my siblings,” Violet wrote of her mother. “I was surprised at her surprise: as a lifelong Angelena and climate-literate member of generation Z, my question had not been whether the Palisades would burn but when.”

As the show went on, because it must, the singer slowly crouched down on the stage and tried to pick her pants back up. The lights then dimmed as she shook her hips and danced while a dancer helped secure her trousers back in place. The crowd cheered her in support of her staying professional.
Even more BeyHive members praised Beyoncé — and her team — in the comments section, writing, “The dancers are AMAZING and professional, they all deserve to be known.”
A second social media user added, “The pants did their own choreography matched with the beat,” while a third joked that they hope the incident “makes it into the documentary.” (Beyoncé has not confirmed if she’s making a documentary, but she did make a concert movie following her Renaissance World Tour, named Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. Johnny and Matthew were also survived by their parents, Guy and Jane, and their older sister Kristen. Johnny was married to his wife, Meredith, and the couple shared three children: daughter Noa, 2, and sons Johnny, 15 months, and Carter, who was born in April, seven months after Johnny’s death.
Matthew was married to his wife, Madeline, who gave birth to the couple’s first baby, son Tripp, in December 2024, four months after Matthew’s death.
Devin and Katie celebrated their ninth anniversary of dating in March, which Katie marked with a post via social media.

Love Island USA‘s Yulissa Escobar spoke out for the first time after being removed from the hit Peacock series for past racist posts.
“First, I want to apologize for using a word I had no right in using. Podcast clips from years ago have recently resurfaced, and I want to address it directly,” Yulissa wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 6. “In those clips, I used a word I never should’ve used, a racial slur.”
Yulissa addressed the clips, which circulated online, adding, “I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn’t trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn’t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It’s tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use.”
“At the time, I was speaking casually in conversation, not thinking deeply or critically about what I was saying. But that doesn’t take away from how wrong it was,” she noted. “The truth is, I didn’t know better then, but I do now. I’ve taken the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow from that moment.”
Yulissa continued: “I’ve changed a lot since then, not just in how I speak, but in how I show up, how I carry myself, and how I honor the experiences of others. Growth means recognizing when you were wrong, even if it’s uncomfortable, and choosing to move forward with humility and accountability.”
“There have also been fake statements circulating, things written or said by others that don’t reflect me or my heart. I want to clarify that this is my voice and my words,” she added. “I don’t need anyone to speak for me. I’m choosing to speak for myself because I take full ownership of my actions. The second episode of season 7, which aired on Wednesday, June 4, revealed that Yulissa was leaving the show after clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast circulated online. Yulissa’s abrupt departure was explained away when narrator Iain Stirling announced that she “has left the villa.”
The rest of the contestants didn’t discuss Yulissa’s disappearance except when fellow contestant Ace Greene acknowledged that he is now single again after previously pairing off with her. The shocking exit came after TMZ posted footage of Yulissa using the n-word several times during podcast appearances.

Following Reid’s post, Lochte broke his silence on their separation.
“This past year has brought major changes for both of us as we’ve come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. I’m deeply grateful for the life we’ve built together and especially for the love we share for our three children,” he wrote in an Instagram statement. “Although this decision hasn’t been easy, I believe it’s the right step toward peace and well-being for us both.”
Lochte added that he is “committed to healing, growth and coparenting with care and respect” as he and Reid navigate their “new chapter.”

Rae previously gave fans a peek at her underwear in May while sharing a behind-the-scenes clip of her rehearsing in nothing but a black lace bra. She hilariously tackled her backup dancers before getting back in formation and continuing her routine.
