In 2003, writerMike White collaborated with Jack Black and directorRichard Linklater on the musical comedy School of Rock that later spawned a Nickelodeon series and a Tony-nominated musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Inthe original movie, struggling singer Dewey Finn (Black) goes undercover as a substitute teacher for a local prep school in order to earn some quick cash to pay his rent. He pretends to be his best friend and former bandmate, Ned Schneebly (White), and discovers that his students all have gifted musical talents. He teams up with the children to form a band, intent on entering a Battle of the Bands competition to bag its cash prize.
White originally penned the script after living next to Black in Los Angeles, wanting to show off his comedic chops.
“He was starting to get a lot of heat as an actor and he would occasionally give me scripts that had been submitted to him to star in,” White recalled to Viacom in October 2018. “They were invariably these flat comedies or he was, like, theJohn Belushi guy who gets drunk and falls through a sliding glass door or something. I’m reading these scripts and I was like, ‘I could do better than this.’”
The White Lotus creator continued, “Obviously, music is a big passion of [Black’s]; he has his band Tenacious D. I had the idea of him leading a band of little kids — somehow it just seemed like a funny visual.”

“Look … @kaitlynn_carter and I finally get to go to a wedding together!!!” he captioned a later-deleted photo.
The Sex With Brody alum gave insight into where he stood with Kylie after he admitted he didn’t know she was pregnant with her first child until after she welcomed Stormi.
“Well, to be honest, I didn’t even know she was pregnant for the entire pregnancy. Now I found out and would love to see her,” he told TMZ. “Relationship’s always been there, but you know, they’re busy. It is what it is. I would love to meet the baby.”
That same year, he revealed Kendall and Kylie didn’t respond to his invite to his wedding. “My two little sisters, we never even heard from them. They never even RSVP’d I don’t think,” he said.
Brody gave an update on his relationship with his dad, who transitioned in 2015.
“Bruce was just never really around — every so often, maybe once every couple years. Wasn’t around for my graduation, wasn’t around for most of my birthdays so, yeah, it really wasn’t any relationship. It was very surface,” he said on The Hills: New Beginnings in 2019. “Eventually, we started to become closer but then all of a sudden, it’s like, I was just getting to know Bruce and then Bruce became Caitlyn. … She’s totally different. It’s awesome, it’s great. She’s happy, she’s running around. She’s off living her life, so what I’ve learned is to just not expect too much from her.”
During another episode, he slammed Caitlyn for missing his wedding. “Honestly, it really did hurt and I would have loved to have had her there,” he said. “But she had better things to do. Apparently."
Brandon seemingly confirmed he wasn’t notified about Kylie’s second pregnancy, commenting, “No way!!!!! Congratulations,” on her Instagram reveal. She gave birth to a son with Travis Scott in 2022.
While they haven’t been publicly photographed together in years, an insider told Us that there wasn’t an active feud between Brody and Brandon and their half and step-siblings.
“There is no bad blood between the siblings at all. Brody and Brandon are supportive of the Jenners [and] Kardashians even if they’re not physically seen together all the time,” the source said. “Everyone has their own busy life. They live in the same town so they run into each other and sometimes even see each other at events. It’s not like they would ever avoid each other if they’re in the same room. They’re not obviously as close as they were when Kendall and Kylie were younger, but that happens in life – people grow apart.”
During an episode of The Kardashians, Brody joined Scott Disick in Las Vegas — where they ran into Kendall. "That's my beautiful sister," the Hills alum said in the October 2022 episode before hugging the model.
After having a rocky relationship for years, Brandon revealed that he and Caitlyn are “very close” and they talk “almost every day.”
“We’re both pilots, so we share a hanger, and we're up there at least a couple times a week working on planes and flying and stuff,” he told Us in January 2024 of the duo’s shared interests. “So, we're very good friends and we have a great relationship, definitely better than it's ever been, or just more close than it's ever been, which is nice.”
Brandon also confirmed that his three kids have met Kylie’s children but haven’t spent a lot of time together due to their busy schedules.
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have been vocal about their efforts to keep the spark in their relationship alive while raising three children.
The couple met while working on 2004’s Fantastic Four, which Alba starred in as Susan Storm and Warren was a production assistant. After dating for nearly four years, the duo tied the knot in May 2008.
Warren cofounder reflected on their spur-of-the-moment decision to get hitched in 2019 while honoring his wife on their 11-year anniversary. He noted that the choice to get married came one month before they welcomed their first child, daughter Honor, in June 2008.
“Prior to that day, neither of us thought marriage was important … it felt outdated and we weren’t going to fall for an antiquated social construction,” Warren wrote via Instagram in May 2019 of the last-minute nuptials. “But something changed in us that morning.”
Warren — the pair also share daughter Haven and son Hayes, born in 2011 and 2017, respectively — added that their quick wedding was just the right fit for them as a family.
“11 years and 3 kids later, we’re still learning, growing, giggling and loving,” he added. “Here’s to a lifetime of pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves and catching each other when we fall.”
In January 2025, news broke that Alba and Warren called it quits after 16 years of marriage.

While celebrating the couple’s anniversary in May 2019, Warren reflected on the “awkward” way their nuptials came to be. “11 years ago ... we were lying in bed having one of those amazing lazy mornings where we we’d do nothing. You were 9 months pregnant with Honor and we were so excited to meet her in the coming weeks,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “Not sure who thought of it first but the decision we made that day would forever change the course of our lives. We hopped up, got dressed and drove straight to the courthouse.”
The Being Terry Kennedy executive producer noted that it “wasn’t the dream wedding you deserved. In fact, it was laughably awkward. Standing under an arch of dusty plastic flowers in the courthouse chapel, we held hands and said I Do.” He remembered not having any friends or family by their side as they tied the knot, but it didn’t matter.
“Just you, me and the courthouse employee who served as our witness. We walked out holding hands, giggling with excitement and a touch of nervousness,” he continued. “I remember opening the car door for you and as you climbed in, calling you ‘Mrs. Warren’ for the first time.”

During a joint interview on “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast in May 2019, the duo argued over whether onscreen sex scenes were a perk of the job as an actor. Alba called the whole thing “disgusting,” while Warren joked about how nice it would be to get intimate with someone else on camera.
“There’s no way hooking up with someone else is not fun. You’re still having fun, that dude’s a stud. There’s no way you’re not gonna enjoy hooking up with him,” the Los Angeles native said. “I would be an actor just to have that moment.”
The Flipper alum, however, had a difference of opinion, saying, “That’s the difference between me and you. It’s just disgusting most of the time because they are usually a stranger.” Warren fired back, “Even more fun. No way.”
“One thing that Jessica and I are 100 percent aligned on is that we’re not raising a–holes,” Warren said in the June 2020 issue of Drew + Scott Reveal magazine. “If they get out of line, we’re not going to stand for it. We’ve tried to maintain the values our parents taught us.”

Alba got real about the ups and downs in her marriage during a July 2021 appearance on Schwarzenegger’s Instagram show, Before, During and After Baby. "It's all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that you become roommates," Alba said, laughing. "You're just going through the motions. You have the responsibilities; it's a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?"
The actress explained that her and Warren’s romantic bond has at times become their last priority, despite trying to make time for weekly date nights. "We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, 'You're not going anywhere,' and so sometimes you don't treat those people the best, right?” she added. “You don't consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people's feelings. So that is something that I think is a constant one to work on."
Alba also revealed Warren sometimes gets “the short end of the stick” when it comes to her time. At the end of the day, however, they are dedicated to keeping their marriage a priority. “The second one of you is checked out then it's a one-sided relationship,” she explained. “Because you're not always gonna be on the same page, and you're not always gonna grow at the same pace."
“When we first started dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention that she was getting from other guys, and it just wasn’t making me feel good,” Warren revealed during an August 2023 appearance on Jana Kramer’s “Whine Down” podcast. “I was always a pretty confident person in my own, kind of, walking my own path and really happy there. And next thing you know, I’m looking up and just feeling jealous all the time.”
After his jealousy led to a breakup with Alba “four years into our relationship,” Warren said he vowed to “channel [my jealousy] in a different way, into a more productive way.”
He also gushed about being Alba’s “biggest cheerleader” and letting her enjoy her career successes. “When we got together, I was like, ‘Pursue your passion. Pursue your careers. Travis Kelce might be head over heels for girlfriend Taylor Swift, but that doesn’t mean he’s automatically willing to possibly walk down the wedding aisle during football season.
During the Wednesday, January 8, episode of his hit podcast “New Heights,” Travis, 35, and his brother Jason Kelce answered an inquiry about fall weddings as part of their “No Dumb Questions” segment.
“I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall, because the all the weddings I’ve been to — my friends always do it in the summer,” the tight end said in response to a caller who revealed his girlfriend wants to get married in the fall despite his insistence that he is “gonna be at a football game.”
“You guys gotta be more in sync on things,” Travis added, voicing his concern for the caller’s relationship dynamic and willingness to find common ground. “You gotta be willing to, you know, find a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good.”
The Super Bowl champ went on to say that he’s “seen weddings in f–king February, I’ve seen weddings everywhere, but the fall… I’m not so sure if the fall is a good wedding season.”
Though Travis and Swift have been mum about their own relationship plans, others in their orbit have been only too happy to chime in on where they think the pair’s romance is headed.
In an interview with The Mirror published Friday, January 3, former NFL corner and pro-bowler Adam “Pacman” Jones said Travis and Swift “are going to get married” this year, “after football.”
Jones also took issue with the conspiracy theory that the pair are not in a “real” relationship. “I think they are in a real relationship,” he said. “I know Trav, because he went to UC. His love [is genuine]. When he says he is with somebody, he is with somebody.”
Of Travis’ most recent ex-girlfriend, Jones added that “he was with her and he found something better and he moved on.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Jones also praised the two for how their relationship has elevated Travis’ position on and off the field. “I love it,” he said. “I wish I was that smart when I was young.
