'White Lotus' Star Breaks Their Silence After Shocking Multiple Finale Deaths

The White Lotus fans are not the only ones mourning that shocking double murder — and now one of the stars is speaking out about the season 3 love story gone awry.

Walton Goggins took to Instagram on Sunday, April 6, with a tribute after Rick and Chelsea’s (Aimee Lou Wood) onscreen deaths.

“With the heaviest of hearts … To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma,” Goggins, 53, wrote alongside photos of him and Wood, 31. “We all have them … but can we move past them.”

The actor opened up about how he related to Rick and Chelsea’s story, adding, “In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us. If we can sit with our pain, just sit with it … not react … not be defined by it … It’s there … the love the world is constantly giving in any given moment is there. Always waiting for us to see it… Trust me I know.”

Goggins praised creator Mike White for “your imagination, your tender heart, for the privilege of giving us the opportunity to tell it.” He also thanked Wood, adding, “For being my partner … a journey I will never forget.”

Elsewhere in the message, Goggins offered a shout-out to scene partner Sam Rockwell — and the other cast and crew.

“Sammy Rock for being the best wing man a fella could ask for. And every stellar f***ing actor in this cast. You’re just incredible to watch. Bernad, John, Ben, Kamine … and this whole crew. I love you,” he continued. “We’ll always have Thailand. And to all of you … thank you for going on this journey with us. Goggins concluded the post with an Aeschylus quote. “’Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God,'” he added.

During Sunday’s episode, Rick (Goggins) briefly found peace with his decision not to kill Sritala (Lek Patravadi)’s husband to avenge his late father. He did ultimately murder Jim (Scott Glenn) — who turned out to be his father and Chelsea (Wood) got stuck in the crossfire.

Rick tried to get Chelsea medical help but Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) killed him while protecting Sritala. The duo died together in the pond at The White Lotus resort.

Before the third installment came to an end, Charlotte Le Bon joked about the potential fan response, telling The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month, “People are going to hate Mike White.”

White weighed in on the pressure to deliver a satisfying conclusion as well, adding, “To be honest, I’m a bit of a head case right now. I’m crying in my car. This show is my whole life, then it’s over and I’m back in my house with my dog, trying to remember who my friends are and what did I do before the show. I don’t want to become one of those crazy people who’s lost the plot. I had to take these MMPI psych tests, and they were like, ‘You’ve become one standard deviation less nice than you were in 2018.’ Yep, that sounds right.”

'The White Lotus' Ending Explained: Who Died — And Was There More Incest?

The third season of The White Lotus came to a deadly end with multiple murders — but did every major question get answered?

Warning: This story contains spoilers about the season 3 finale of The White Lotus

During the finale, which aired on Sunday, April 6, there are three major deaths before the episode is done. Rick (Walton Goggins) briefly finds peace with his decision not to kill Sritala (Lek Patravadi)’s husband to avenge his late father but ultimately his decisions lead not only to his death. His girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) — and Sritala’s husband Jim (Scott Glenn) who is actually his father — end up getting killed in the process as well.

There was also Belinda’s (Natasha Rothwell) face-off with Greg a.k.a Gary (Jon Gries) that got addressed, the Ratcliff family left the resort in a different state than how they arrived and the girls’ trip between Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), Laurie (Carrie Coon) and Kate (Leslie Bibb) offered closure.

Sunday’s episode wrapped up a chaotic season full of incest, feuds and surprising sexual turns. Before the third installment came to an end, the cast and creator Mike White weighed in on trying to properly address every story line.

“To be honest, I’m a bit of a head case right now. I’m crying in my car. This show is my whole life, then it’s over and I’m back in my house with my dog, trying to remember who my friends are and what did I do before the show,” White, 54, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday, April 2. “I don’t want to become one of those crazy people who’s lost the plot.”

He continued: “I had to take these MMPI psych tests, and they were like, ‘You’ve become one standard deviation less nice than you were in 2018.’ Yep, that sounds right.”

Parker Posey, meanwhile, surprised Us when she admitted she “forgot who died” after filming the last episode of the season. “It was so stressful when I read it. The dark stuff, I blazed through,” she noted before Jon Gries added, “Whatever you think you know, you’re going to get it wrong.”

Charlotte Le Bon joked about the potential fan response, saying, “People are going to hate Mike White.”

White, for his part, offered a glimpse at what is to come next in a featurette that played after the finale, in which he said, “I want to get a little out of the crashing waves against rocks vernacular. But there’s also room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”

The trio found peace during their last dinner together when Laurie opened up about the sadness she faced while trying to explain her life choices to them. Instead, Laurie has not come to a place of understanding and peace about her life, which has made her appreciate her friendships more.

Before getting on the boat, Kate, Laurie and Jaclyn had a front row seat to Rick shooting Sritala’s husband. They seemed affected on the ride back home but it feels like a story they will be telling on many joint trips to come.

The Ratliffs

Despite Piper’s (Sarah Catherine Hook) initial interest in staying behind, she quickly admitted that she wasn’t willing to give up her luxurious life to live in a monastery. That was music to Victoria’s (Parker Posey) ears but Timothy (Jason Isaacs) realized he needed his daughter to die too.

His plan was to poison them with drinks made from the seeds of the fruit he was told not to drink. Everyone but Lochlan (Sam Nivola) was meant to drink the spiked cocktails but Timothy chickened out.

Lochlan, who told his father he could see himself living a simple life, then ended up drinking the concoction anyway when making a smoothie. Luckily, Lochlan survived and no one in the family was the wiser to Timothy’s plan. The last shot was of them on the boat getting their devices back as Timothy warned them that their lives would change.

Rick and Chelsea

Initially, Rick seemed to be moving on from his plan to get revenge. He returned to the hotel, reunited with Chelsea and surprised her when he admitted he planned for them to be together forever.

But Sritala’s husband Jim then arrived at the hotel where he taunted Rick by calling his mother a liar and his father a disappointment. Despite Chelsea’s — and Rick’s — best efforts, Rick shot him. Sritala, however, revealed to him that Jim was actually Rick’s father.

In a shoot out with Sritala’s guards, Chelsea ended up injured. Rick tried to get her help but he was shot as well (more on that later) and they both died together.

P.S. Frank (Sam Rockwell) is back at the monastery after a night of partying.

Belinda — And Her Hot Son

The reservations about taking Greg’s money continued to drive Belinda and her son Zion (Nicholas Duvernay). They negotiated with Greg up to $5 million, which Belinda received and promptly planned to leave the White Lotus. In a parallel to the season 1 scene between Belinda and Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), Belinda told Pornchai (Dom Hetrakul) that her circumstances changed and she couldn’t open a spa with him anymore.

After paying off Belinda, Greg a.k.a Gary returned to his life in Thailand. The last shot was of Chloe (Le Bon) propositioning a new guest at the resort to have sex with her while Gary watched.

Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) planned to turn Valentin (Arnas Fedaravicius) and his friends in for robbing the White Lotus. But then that changed to him wanting to quit because he didn’t feel he was doing right by his values and morals. In a last minute shakeup, Gaitok was at the scene when Jim got shot and sprung into action. He shot Rick — which killed him — and thus got a promotion to Sritala’s driver and bodyguard, which made Mook (Lalisa Manobal) proud.

Clayton Echard Reacts to Ex Gabby Windey Criticizing His Dancing Videos

Clayton Echard has reacted to criticism from ex Gabby Windey over his dance moves.

After Windey, 34, criticized Echard’s online dancing videos during her appearance on the Thursday, April 3, episode of the “Las Culturistas” podcast, the season 26 Bachelor, 31, called her remarks “bullying.”

“Gabby, what you’re doing is bullying. There’s no other way around it,” Echard said in a Sunday, April 6, Instagram video that addressed Windey telling the podcast’s hosts, Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, that Echard’s dancing posts “will make you run … you’ll wish you didn’t have eyes.”

“You’re attacking me for my physical appearance, you’re attacking me for a passion that I love that’s changed my life. It’s unnecessary and it’s not funny,” Echard added. “You have such a large platform and you’re setting a really bad example, which is just disheartening. I don’t want people to be scared to try something new because [of] bullying online, like what you’re doing. Do better Gabby.”

Echard, who dated Windey on the ABC reality show and ultimately dumped her as well as Rachel Recchia to pursue a relationship with Susie Evans, has regularly shared videos of himself dancing for the camera since 2023. (Echard and his now ex-girlfriend Evans, 31, revealed they were an item in the After the Final Rose special but split for good in September 2022.)

While Echard received support from fans who commented on his filmed response, some pointed out that Windey’s podcast comments may have been taken out of context. “I really think she was just being cheeky and sarcastic in the podcast,” one commenter wrote. “I do agree she took it too far, but I don’t think that was her intention.”

Echard explained in his video that dancing has helped him evolve as a human. “[Dancing] has brought so much self love and self confidence that I’m truly so grateful to have found something that I get to work on myself every day and challenge myself,” he said. “I’m not the greatest at it and I’m aware of that, I’m not delusional but it’s me versus me every single day I get into that studio and it’s movement therapy and it’s allowed me to release a lot of my anger and frustrations.”

He added that he hadn’t talked to Windey, who served as a Bachelorette alongside Recchia, 29, in 2022, “in three years,” but that Windey continues “to take shots at me and it’s just unnecessary.”

Windey, who married comedian Robby Hoffman in a secret Las Vegas wedding in January, openly discussed Echard when he was accused of fathering a former flame’s twins in 2023, later confirming that he was not the father via an Instagram video.

“I feel like that’s the wrong tone for being accused of being a dad of twins,” she said on “The Viall Files” podcast in October that year. “This isn’t how I would respond. At least match the seriousness of this.”
