Beyoncé brought a little country Christmas to her halftime show performance during the NFL’s Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game, armed with many tricks up her sleeve.
The Grammy winner, 43, performed songs from her Cowboy Carter album during her set at NRG Stadium in her hometown of Houston on Wednesday, December 25, in what was dubbed the “Christmas Game Day Beyoncé Bowl.”
Beyoncé arrived on the stage via horseback, galloping past a garage of vintage cars while wearing a white oversized fur coat with a coordinating cowboy hat and a diamond choker necklace. After renditions of “16 Carriages” and “Black Bird,” the singing icon strutted onto the field for a showstopping performance of “Ya Ya,” changing into a sequined bodysuit. Beyoncé also sang “RIIVERDANCE” with Shaboozey, “LEVII’S Jeans” with Post Malone (sitting in a denim-covered truck), “Jolene” and “Texas Hold ‘Em” featuring 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy joining the backing dancers.
“It’s only right that we do ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ for the first time in Houston, Texas on Christmas,” Beyoncé quipped in her introduction before concluding, “Merry Christmas, God bless y’all.”
While singing “Black Bird,” Beyoncé was joined by Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts, all of whom were featured on the LP.
The Christmas Day halftime show, which aired on Netflix, marks the first time Beyoncé sang Cowboy Carter songs live since the album’s March release. However, it is not her first rodeo when it comes to the NFL as she previously headlined the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans and returned to perform alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars during the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show.
Earlier this year, Beyoncé made history with her Cowboy Carter album, venturing into the country music genre for the first time in her career after previously dominating the pop and R&B fields. Her single “Texas Hold ‘Em” was the first song by a Black female artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and she became the first Black woman ever to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
Despite its success, the project still drew controversy, with some country music radio stations ignoring fan requests to play the songs on air and the 2024 Country Music Association Awards completely snubbing the album.
While accepting the Innovator Award from Stevie Wonder at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in April, Beyoncé called out “all the record labels, every radio station [and] every awards show,” emphasizing that the music industry needs to become “more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art with no preconceived notions.”
In her speech, Beyoncé explained, “Innovation starts with a dream. But then you have to execute that dream, and that road can be very bumpy. Being an innovator is saying what everyone believes is impossible.”
“Being an innovator often means being criticized, which often will test your mental strength,” she added. “Being an innovator is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you and guide you.”
Beyoncé also mentioned several artists who have “dedicated their lives and their art to creating shifts,” including Tracy Chapman, Prince, Tina Turner and Michael Jackson.
She noted, “[They] defied any label placed upon them, thank you for executing your dream so we could all follow.”
The pop star, 35, dropped a “like” on a Chiefs Instagram post celebrating Kelce, also 35, earning the most receiving touchdowns in KC history.
Kelce and the Chiefs played the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, December 25, in which the tight end earned his third touchdown of the NFL season. His overall record now surpasses Tony Gonzalez.
“It’s everything to me. Tony’s been a mentor to me, he’s been there right there for me [with] any questions I’ve ever had,” Kelce said in a postgame interview. “I feel like I’m still trying to fill that guy’s shoes. He’s such an unbelievable competitor and I’ve got so much love for him. It’s an honor to be in conversations with him.”
Swift, however, was not present at Pennsylvania’s Acrisure Stadium to watch Kelce and the Chiefs win 29-10.
Last year, Taylor brought her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, and her brother, Austin Swift, with her to Kansas City, Missouri, for Christmas. At the time, the family attended Kelce’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
Despite a disappointing Christmas Day loss for the Chiefs in 2023, Kelce offered some insight into how he celebrated with Taylor and her family, crediting Austin, 32, with reviving the holiday cheer by dressing up in a Santa suit and handing out personal gifts.
“It was a full commit. He killed it,” Travis recalled on his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in December 2023. “He actually made me feel like a child because his gift to me was straight out of the bag.”
He added, “[He] handed me a VHS of my favorite football movie of all time … Little Giants.”
Despite the negativity from the game, Travis expressed gratitude for his loved ones who helped to salvage the holiday.
“It ended well with good Christmas cheer and great people,” he said. “That’s always going to save Christmas no matter if you lose to the Raiders or not.”
Earlier this month, Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Taylor planned to host Christmas with her and Travis’ families this year.
The holiday comes just weeks after Taylor concluded her Eras Tour in Vancouver on December 8. The 149-date tour ran from March 2023 to December 2024, spanned five continents, raked in more than $2 billion and was attended by 10.1 million fans. Now, she is ready to enjoy some much-needed rest.
“Taylor’s exhausted,” a source exclusively told Us earlier this month. “She’s excited for some relaxation and downtime.”
Taylor’s time off will of course include Travis after contending with their busy schedules since the beginning of their relationship in the summer of 2023.
“Taylor plans to stay in and hibernate [with Travis] for a while,” the insider shared. “They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple.”
As the pair consider the next step in their relationship, the source said their two families are “very intertwined,” adding that it feels “as if they’ve been a part of each other’s [lives] for years.”
Mariah Carey delivered plenty of holiday cheer while kicking off the NFL’s Christmas Day games with a performance of her seasonal hit.
The Grammy winner, 55, opened both games — the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET and the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET, which streamed on Netflix — with a taped rendition of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on Wednesday, December 25. Carey stunned in a red sequin bodysuit during a rooftop performance, flanked by dancers in Nutcracker costumes.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was released 30 years ago as the lead single from Carey’s first holiday album, 1994’s Merry Christmas. Three decades later, the song continues to dominate the charts and has been certified 16 times platinum, making it the highest-certified single ever performed by a female artist.
In November, Carey reflected on the song’s origin in an interview with ABC News.
“I was working on it by myself … on this little Casio keyboard and writing down words and thinking about, ‘What do I think of at Christmas? What do I love? What do I want? What do I dream of?’” she recalled. “And that’s what started it.”
While crafting the track, Carey hoped it would become a holiday classic.
“My goal was to do something timeless, so it didn’t feel like the ‘90s, which is when I wrote it,” she added.
Now, 30 years later, the song is still one of the season’s most popular tracks, which Carey attributed to the fact that she “really, truly” loves Christmas. “It’s not fake,” she emphasized.
Despite her authentic love for the holiday season, in a November interview with The New York Times Carey revealed that her 1994 Christmas album almost didn’t happen.
“I felt it was too early in my career,” she told the outlet.
Ultimately, Carey’s love for the holidays won out and she eventually became known as the queen of Christmas.
This year, Carey took her appreciation for the season up a notch by embarking on the 16-date Merry Christmas One and All Tour, which made various stops throughout the United States and Canada from November 15 through December 17. (Her 2023 holiday tour only consisted of a total of four shows in Toronto and New York City.)
“Last year we didn’t go, like, across the country,” she told ABC News. “So this year we’re doing that.”
Carey hoped that the tour would give her fans “the merriest of Christmases” while also allowing them to enjoy “being together.”
She went on to tease that new music is “on the horizon,” hinting that she had recently been “writing new songs” and spending time in the studio “working on something with a choir.”
Baby Driver actor Hudson Joseph Meekdied after falling off a moving vehicle at the age of 16.
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” a Saturday, December 21, statement on Meek’s official Instagram read. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
The statement added, “Please pray for Hudson’s family and friends as we all process this sudden and tragic loss.”
Meek, who is survived by parents Lani and Derek and brother Tucker, sustained blunt force trauma after he fell from a moving vehicle, according to local NBC affiliate WVTM.
Per the outlet, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said in a statement that Meek died 48 hours after he was ejected from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Canyon Road near Highway 31. An investigation is currently ongoing.
Meek’s professional acting credits date back to 2014 and include The Santa Con, episodes of the MacGyver reboot, The School Duel and Baby Driver. Meek portrayed the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s Baby in the 2017 film.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the untimely passing of Hudson Meek, a beloved member of the JPTA family,” an Instagram statement shared by J. Pervis Talent Agency read. “Hudson was an extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry. Over the past 10 years, he contributed so much to the spirit of our agency and his loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us.”
The message continued, “Hudson was more than just a talent, he was a source of inspiration and touched so many lives with his enthusiasm, kindness, smile and innate ability to light up a room and never meet a stranger. He will be remembered with great affection by us all.”
Several of Meek’s loved ones and friends paid tribute in emotional social media tributes.
“I am so so sorry. Keeping you are all in my prayers. ,” Descendants actress Brenna D’Amico wrote via Instagram comment.
Meek’s older brother, Tucker, replied, “I’m gonna miss you Hud. Love you bro.”
A celebration of life service in Meek’s honor is scheduled for Saturday, December 28, in Homewood, Alabama.
“Hudson’s personality was one of a kind. He was confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous, and quick-witted,” an obituary read. “He never let the facts get in the way of a funny story, and he loved friendly banter. He was a prankster, loved a good joke, and was happiest when he was making others laugh. Hudson thrived in settings that allowed him to me.”
After Us Weekly confirmed Jenner and Chalamet’s romance that April, a source exclusively told Us that the actor “is a total gentleman and treats [Kylie] with respect.”
“He’s very charming and he makes her laugh, and he’s easy to talk to,” the insider said, adding, “He’s not like any of the other guys she’s dated before and although he may not seem like her type, they have really good chemistry.”

That can make it hard to build a solid foundation, but they’re still in communication and open to seeing where things go.”
The pair were photographed for the first time together as they enjoyed a day date in Los Angeles at Chalamet’s home. That same week, a source exclusively told Us that some of Jenner’s family has met the Lady Bird actor, including mom Kris Jenner and sister Kendall Jenner.
“They really like him and think he’s different from anybody Kylie has dated in the past,” the insider said of Kylie’s relative’s opinion of her new flame. “He has a great sense of humor, and he makes her smile which is the most important thing to them. They love seeing how happy she is and absolutely approve of them dating.”
As the summer came to an end, a source exclusively told Us that the duo’s “busy schedules” had been keeping them apart, emphasizing that the twosome’s romance is “very casual.”
“Kylie and Timothée haven't been spending that much time together recently because they both have very busy schedules. But they're still communicating on a pretty regular basis and have remained friends despite the fact that they don't hang out that often,” the insider said. ”They run in the same circle of friends, and have a great time when they're together, but it's not that serious. One month later in September, the duo made two public appearances together: at Beyoncé’s birthday concert in Los Angeles and at Haider Ackermann’s NYFW dinner.

Us confirmed on December 10 that Kylie quietly attended Chalamet’s L.A. Wonka premiere. “She’s one of his biggest supporters and was so glad she and Kris were able to be there,” a source told Us of the event, noting that things between Kylie and the actor have “become fairly serious.”
Later in the month, fans were convinced that Chalamet was at Kylie’s family Christmas Eve bash after a man resembling him appeared in one of Landon Barker’s Snapchat videos.
“Things are going great between Kylie and Timothée,” an insider told Us after the Christmas party, noting that the pair have been “spending more time together since they both have some free time during the holiday season.” The source noted, “Kylie appreciates how well he gets along with her family because their approval means everything.”
While Chalamet walked the red carpet solo at the 2024 Golden Globes, Kylie joined him inside The Beverly Hilton when the awards show began. The pair were spotted looking cozy for the camera, even sharing a sweet kiss at one point.
Jenner and Chalamet were spotted on a low-key movie date in Los Angeles, shortly before a source gave Us a status update on their relationship.
“Kylie and Timothée hang out with each other frequently and communicate on a regular basis,” a source told Us weeks later in July. “They’ve gone on a number of dates recently, but they always do their best to try and stay under the radar as much as possible.”
The following December, Jenner was spotted supporting Chalamet at the premiere of his movie A Complete Unknown.
Travis Kelce scored a touchdown during his Wednesday, December 25, game, breaking a major Kansas City Chiefs record.
Kelce’s touchdown on Wednesday meant that the 35-year-old athlete beat Tony Gonzalez’s previously held record for the most career touchdown receptions. In celebration, Kelce dunked the ball in an homage to Gonzalez himself.
“I’ve been following him since he was a rookie and I’m not surprised by it,” Gonzalez, 48, said during a November broadcast of NFL on Prime Video. “He is one of the greatest tight ends of all time. … If he dunks it, I will pay that fine!”
It is against NFL rules to toss a football through the goalpost, often resulting in a hefty fine for unsportsmanlike conduct. The league has not confirmed further details about a potential fine.
Kelce’s touchdown led the Chiefs to victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10. He and teammate Patrick Mahomes were named the official game MVPs, earning Santa-inspired puffy robes and a red velvet cake packed into the shape of a football.
In a postgame interview, Kelce opened up about his milestone receiving record.

The Chiefs’ win over the Steelers earns the Missouri team the No. 1 seed in its AFC conference.
“I thought it was a full-team performance. Defense stepped up, offense stepped up [and] everyone had their imprint on the game,” Mahomes quipped. “I told my pregnant wife [Brittany Mahomes] I was going to get the No. 1 seed, so we can have the baby.”
Patrick and Brittany, 29, are currently expecting their third baby. In a pregame interview on Wednesday, Patrick told sportscaster Kay Adams that his wife is due “any day now.”
Brittany, for her part, did not travel to Pittsburgh for game day and instead watched the NFL matchup from home in KC with kids Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 21.
“Baking and watching Daddy,” Brittany wrote via Instagram Story on Wednesday afternoon.
Christmas Day was holly and jolly for many celebrities and their loved ones.
“Christmas morning in London! Merry Christmas, guys. We love you so much,” Chrissy Teigen wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, December 25.
Teigen and her husband, John Legend, kicked off the festivities in a London hotel room with daughter Luna and Esti and sons Miles and Wren. All four kids twinned in matching plaid pajamas.
In their kids’ stockings, Teigen and Legend handed out an array of toys, including stuffed animals of British staple Paddington Bear.
Across the pond, Reese Witherspoon enjoyed a festive brunch with daughter Ava and sons Deacon and Tennessee. (She shares Ava and Deacon with Ryan Phillippe and Tennessee with Jim Toth.)
“Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! ,” Witherspoon captioned family photos via Instagram.

Swift and Kelce’s package included a Santa-themed gift bag and a box wrapped in red rose paper. There was also a “Louis 200” box from Louis Vuitton.
“Merry Christmas She She and Chris,” a gift tag read, which was signed by “Travis and Taylor.” A separate tag was addressed solely to “She She” from “Tay Tay.”
Jones, who shares two sons with Weathersby, is one of Kelce’s teammates on the Chiefs. Swift has often invited Weathersby, alongside fellow NFL partner Chariah Gordon, to watch home games from a private suite.
Neither Swift nor Weathersby attended Wednesday’s away game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Jones, 30, was out on injured reserve and did not play but still traveled with his teammates.)
“Every time you play the Steelers, you know it’s going to be a fight,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said in a Netflix interview earlier on Wednesday. “They’re gonna give you your best shot every single time — and it’s a great football team. That’s why they’re in the position that they’re in. It’ll be a great game, we’ll be in a great environment in Pittsburgh and I’m excited for it.”
While Weathersby has been a devoted member of Chiefs Kingdom for many years in support of Jones, Swift only just started to appreciate the squad.
“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift said in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
Swift started dating Kelce, 35, in summer 2023, going public with their romance the following September when she went to her first Chiefs game.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift added to the outlet. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
When Swift reps Kelce from the stands, she’s not concerned about being seen on the Jumbotron.
“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” Swift stressed at the time. “I’m just there to support Travis. Throughout the 2024-2025 NFL season, Swift only attended home games in between her Eras Tour concerts across the globe. After she wrapped the performances earlier this month, Kelce organized a blowout “end of an era” party to celebrate and invited many of his Chiefs teammates and their significant others.

“Callum is really the first serious relationship she’s had in the past few years,” a source exclusively told Us Weeklyin March. “Dua and Callum spend almost all their time together and are nearly inseparable.”
According to the insider, Lipa and Turner are “very serious about one another” and had introduced their families to each other
“They have a very balanced energy and Dua couldn’t be happier than she is with Callum,” the source added to Us.
Lipa and Turner have since been staples on her social media pages and enjoyed several public dates. It is Lipa’s first serious relationship since she and Anwar Hadid split in 2021.
Their romance also appeared to inspire Lipa musically. She released Radical Optimism in May featuring lead single “Training Season,” which fans believed was about her relationship with Turner.
“I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to write down what I want,’” Lipa told Elle in May. “The power of manifestation and writing things into existence with the power of words. When you know your worth, you know what you want and what you don’t want.”

“The [coronavirus] pandemic happened and we got stuck at home, all I wanted to do was get back into the club and make a record that was solely for dancing,” she explained in her November video. “The whole story was built on the basis of reputation in a dance track that makes it very easily digestible for people who are listening to it.
