PSU Volleyball Coach Wins National Championship Amid Breast Cancer Battle
Penn State women’s volleyball head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley made history on Sunday night, three months after being diagnosed with stage II breast cancer.
Schumacher-Cawley, 44, became the first woman head coach to win the national championship since the NCAA tournament began in 1981, when her Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the University of Louisville Cardinals on Sunday, December 22.
“There have been so many that have been before me that have paved the way for me,” Schumacher-Cawley told ESPN after the win, Penn State’s eighth national championship in history. “I’m so grateful and hopefully there will be more in the future that want to coach and be a part of it.”
After leaving the court, Schumacher-Cawley gushed about the support she has been shown by her Penn State family in the midst of her cancer battle.

“I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by so many great people from this team to the staff I have,” Schumacher-Cawley told reporters. “I’m just really lucky to have great people around me that go above and beyond.”
Schumacher-Cawley also gave a nod to younger cancer patients, who she routinely crosses paths with on her own journey.
“I am inspired by the young kids that are sick,” she added. “I’m doing treatment at UPenn and every time I walk into the hospital, I walk right past the children’s hospital. Sure, if I can be an inspiration to someone. then I take that. But I feel good and I’m lucky to have the people around me. I think that’s why we’re successful.”
Schumacher-Cawley, a former volleyball player at Penn State who took over as head coach in January 2022, announced she had been diagnosed with cancer in October.

“This news has been a lot to process, and as you can imagine, it has brought a range of emotions,” she shared via Instagram. “But I’m approaching this with strength, determination, and an unwavering sense of hope. We will draw inspiration from the many people in our lives that have battled cancer and have emerged victorious.”
She added, “I know this journey will have its challenges, but I also know that with the care and strength of those around me, I am ready to meet it head-on. I also want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the women and men who have gone through this before me. The strength, courage, and determination you’ve shown have not only been inspiring, but you have also helped advance the incredible progress we see in medicine today. Your journeys have paved the way for better treatments and outcomes, and I’m deeply grateful for that.”
Schumacher-Cawley only missed a few practices while jugging her diagnosis and her on-court responsibilities — which didn’t go unnoticed by her players.
“Even if she’s not feeling well, you would literally never be able to tell,” outside hitter Jess Mruzik told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in a story published Thursday, December 19. “She’s always herself and she’s always just fun.”
Teddi Mellencamp Shares Horseback Riding Photos After Trainer Affair Claims
Teddi Mellencamp’s love of horses hasn’t wavered since news broke last month of her alleged affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder.
Mellencamp, 43, enjoyed an afternoon at the stables on Sunday, December 22, with her daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, according to her Instagram Stories.
“Frog Santa is my fave Santa,” she captioned one photo with Dove, who wore Christmas tree-shaped glasses on her face that looked a little like a frog.
Mellencamp was all smiles in the snap, wearing black riding pants and boots, a white Nike sweatshirt and her helmet. The mother-daughter duo posed by a hose wearing a Santa hat.
Teddi Mellencamp Speaks Out After Affair News: 'I Won't Confirm or Deny'
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star also shared several videos of both Slate and Dove riding different horses. One of the animals even wore reindeer antlers as Slate galloped.
Slate and Dove, whom Mellencamp shares with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, also dressed up for the festive riding day. (Mellencamp and Arroyave also share son Cruz, 10, and Arroyave, 47, is the father of daughter Isabella from a previous relationship.)
Dove traded in her tree glasses for sparkly reindeer glasses to ride with her big sister, who added antlers to her helmet.
“Santa’s little helper,” Mellencamp captioned a separate Instagram Story video of her youngest child walking one of the horses out of its stable.
Later that day, Mellencamp posted photos of Slate and Cruz with friends during their VIP experience at Cirque du Soleil Kooza in Santa Monica, California.
The reality’s star’s family-filled weekend came nearly two months after she announced on November 2 that she and Arroyave split after 13 years of marriage.
Mellencamp initially requested sole physical and legal custody of the pair’s three children with Arroyave having “reasonable and frequent” visitation. However, Us Weekly confirmed on November 22 that she changed her petition, asking the court for joint physical and legal custody of the kids.
Teddi Mellencamp Had Affair With Horse Trainer Before Divorce
Arroyave, for his part, previously asked for joint legal and physical custody of the kids in his November response to Mellencamp’s filing. “Edwin and Teddi have always wanted to keep this amicable for the children,” a source told Us at the time, claiming that “Teddi and Edwin both knew each other were filing — it was not a surprise.”
While the estranged spouses appear to be handling their divorce amicably, Mellencamp has remained in the hot seat over the past two months for other extramarital affairs.
Us confirmed on November 13 that Mellencamp had an affair with her horse trainer, Schroeder, months before she filed for divorce.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” a source exclusively told Us last month, claiming that Mellencamp and Arroyave were both unfaithful during their marriage.
While the insider said, “Teddi isn’t excusing her behavior,” they alleged it was “the first and only time she strayed outside the marriage.” The source added that Mellencamp says “there’s two sides to the story” and both she and Arroyave are to “blame.”
A second insider told Us that Arroyave “insists he has not had an affair since” he cheated on Mellencamp eight years ago. “Since then, he’s been focused on family and faith,” the source claimed.
Following their separation, Mellencamp has kept quiet about what led to the split. She briefly touched upon the rumors during the November 14 episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, saying, “There’s multiple sides to every story.”
Teddi Mellencamp Changes Position on Custody During Edwin Arroyave Divorce
She added, “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything. But there’s many people involved.”
Mellencamp has since begun to pick up the pieces in her life, revealing during the December 5 episode of Erika Jayne’s “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast that she is living part-time with RHOBH’s Kyle Richards. She is also splitting time with Arroyave in their marital home with their kids, which she called “nesting.”
“Some places you can just file for divorce … in California, there’s a six-month cooling-off period,” Mellencamp explained. “During that six months, you can do a multitude of things. The way I learned about nesting was one of my good girlfriends, she’s a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”
She noted that both she and her estranged husband “can be there for sporting events” and other activities for the kids. “We’re completely happy to be around one another,” Mellencamp claimed.
Justin Baldoni’s Possible Next Legal Steps Amid Blake Lively Lawsuit
Justin Baldoni’s legal battle with Blake Lively appears to be just beginning.
After Lively, 37, sued her It Ends With Us costar and director for sexual harassment, a high-profile attorney is sharing his perspective about what could happen next.
“He’s gotta lawyer up,” attorney Ron Zambrano, who is not affiliated with the case, exclusively told Us Weekly. “Then he has to respond to the [Civil Rights Department’s] requests to rebut the complaint in whatever way his team deems best.” (Baldoni, 40, is currently being represented by attorney Bryan Freedman.)
According to Zambrano, the rules in the civil rights department investigation are “not as high stakes as in civil claims in that there are no real consequences for being evasive like there is in civil court.”
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's Reported 'It Ends With Us' Drama Explained
“But if he’s too evasive, the full might of the [Civil Rights Department] may aim its ire at Baldoni, and he wouldn’t want that either,” Zambrano — who also weighed in on Lively’s possible next steps with Us — added. “But there may be a real motivator to keep it out of civil court.”
In the lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, December 20, and obtained by Us Weekly, Lively accused Baldoni of launching a “social manipulation” campaign against her to “destroy” her reputation.
Lively also accused Baldoni of body-shaming her on set and alleged that Baldoni improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life.
Baldoni’s lawyer called Lively’s accusations “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” in a statement to Us, claiming that the actress filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” about the film’s production.
While it’s too soon to say if the suit will eventually go to trial, Zambrano predicts the Civil Rights Department may order both parties to mediate.
“Whether they actually settle is up to the parties,” Zambrano explained to Us. “The requirement is only to participate in mediation. It’s always in the benefit of the defendant to resolve the case.”
Everything Justin Baldoni Has Said About Working With Blake Lively
Since the lawsuit was filed, Lively has received support from the It Ends With Us book author Colleen Hoover as well as her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars including America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel.
“As Blake’s friends and sisters for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation,” the trio shared in a joint statement. “Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice.”
In a statement to The New York Times regarding her lawsuit, Lively said, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
'VPR' Fans Think They Spotted James Kennedy's Mom on 'Dexter: Original Sin'
Vanderpump Rules fans were in for a surprise when they seemingly spotted James Kennedy‘s mother, Jacqueline Georgiou, in a scene from Showtime’s Dexter prequel.
“Just watching the new season of Dexter and rewinded like 6 times trying to remember where I know this lady from,” a social media user wrote via Reddit alongside a screen grab from the new series.
The comments section largely agreed that the background actress resembled Georgiou, 54. “Yes she’s been an extra in a lot of shows,” read one reply while another Bravo viewer added, “Jax [Taylor] was an extra on Dexter too .” (Taylor was an uncredited extra in a 2012 episode of the original Dexter series.)
According to another commentator, Georgiou and Kennedy’s girlfriend, Ally Lewber, “were extras in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” together, which they actually confirmed in a deleted VPR season 10 scene. Georgiou’s IMDB, however, doesn’t reflect the gig in the Brad Pitt film, which means something similar could’ve happened for Dexter: Original Sin. (TV shows and movies Call Me Crazy and Ray Donovan are included as her only scripted roles.)
See the 'Dexter: OG Sin' TV Cast Compared to Their Sequel Show Counterparts
One thing is for sure, Georgiou appeared in numerous episodes of Vanderpump Rules after Kennedy, 32, was hired as a busser at Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant SUR. Kennedy’s behavior — which often stemmed from his alcohol issues — frequently caused him to get fired or be on the outs with his costars. Georgiou, for her part, showed her support for Kennedy during her appearances on the show.
Earlier this month, Us Weekly confirmed that Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. Police were dispatched to Kennedy’s home, where he lives with Lewber, 28, on December 10 after they received a call about an argument between a man and a woman. The authorities allegedly saw Kennedy grabbing the woman and officers who responded to the scene did not see any visible injuries.
Kennedy was released on a $20,000 bail and his legal team subsequently released a statement.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” his attorneys told Us. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
After the arrest made headlines, Kennedy noted that he is prioritizing his mental health, writing via Instagram, “I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones.”
‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast: Then and Now
He continued: “Navigating challenging moments is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
Lewber was subsequently seen carrying boxes outside of her and Kennedy’s shared home after sources told Us the couple was taking space.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me,” Lewber wrote via her Instagram Story. “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”

QVC Host Kerstin Lindquist Leaving Shopping Network After 13 Years
QVC program host Kerstin Lindquist announced she is leaving the shopping network in early 2025.
“After a prayerful year, God has led me to such a time as this,” Lindquist shared via Instagram on Saturday, December 21. “It’s time for me to step back from my position at QVC. It’s time for me to have more time for my teens & family. It’s time for God to make a greater impact through me by focusing on faith & wellness in women’s lives.”
After more than 13 years with QVC, Lindquist will host her final Saturday Morning Q show on Saturday, December 28. She will still make special appearances in early 2025.
“You will see me a few more times in January/February for health and wellness shows,” she shared without revealing her final show just yet. “I make this move with all the love in my heart for QVC.”
'Today' Show Hosts React to Hoda Kotb's Surprising Exit
Lindquist joined QVC in 2011 and her first item ever sold was a metal birdhouse.
During her time with the shopping network, she was able to work with familiar faces like Candace Cameron Bure, Venus Williams and Josie Maran.
In addition to collaborating on a fashion line with Studio Park, Lindquist also became passionate about sharing health and wellness products with viewers.
“When I decided to come to QVC more than 13 years ago, it was because of the way I was able to connect with you in an honest, vulnerable manner unlike any other job in TV or retail,” Lindquist wrote via Instagram. “You were with me when we brought home my son, lost my mom, moved to be missionaries and all the heartbreak and joy in between.”
According to Lindquist, her bond with viewers was “more than shopping, it’s a relationship, and we will always be family.”
“I pray I’ll still be able to serve you in what’s to come for me in 2025,” she continued, “and I know if you follow along you will continue to be blessed. Xoxo.”
Soon after sharing her announcement, Lindquist received support from viewers and members of the QVC family.

My Favorite Mascara That Makes Lashes 'Voluminous and Bold' Is 30% Off Right Now
I once tested over 40 mascaras in two months for an article. Yes, really. As a beauty writer, I get to find the best formulas and products for beauty enthusiasts like myself to add to their collections. At the time, I was loyal to a mascara I had used since high school, but once Too Faced’s Better Than Sex instantly lifted, curled and enhanced my lashes in a few swipes, I was converted. I always keep one or two extras on my hand, so I had to sound the alarm when I saw this mascara duo for 30% off at Ulta.
I Haven't Used Another Mascara Since Trying Charlotte Tilbury's New Launch
Better Than Sex Mascara really packs a punch. Once you apply the product, it works to create full, defined lashes that appear significantly longer. How? The film-forming polymer formula keeps hairs in place while the included acacia-senegal-tree extract increases volume. There is also a unique blend of peptides that condition lashes. I even appreciate the brush, which offers an hourglass shape that hits and separates each lash.

Don’t just take my word for it. Ulta shoppers are also repeat buyers of the mascara.
“This is a staple in your makeup routine!” one reviewer wrote. “I get so many compliments on how long my natural lashes are when wearing this! This is my third tube and I will buy it again and again!”
“Absolutely love this brand of mascara,” another shared. “No smudging no flaking. It is the best out there hands-down. I will never buy another brand. My eyes have never looked better.”
A final shopper shared: “I love this mascara. I have super short, super fine lashes but when I put this on, pow, my lashes are full and plush. They almost look fake. It’s a 100% buy.”
I was shocked to find the mascara marked down during the holidays. This is the best time to try it for yourself or stock up if you’re already loyal to using this pick.

7 Times Celebs Clapped Back At Aging Comments
Last week, Jennifer Lopez made headlines with her response to an interviewer who brought up her age.
“Listen, I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since Selena. I can’t believe that 30 years we do the retrospective of this and you will be 60 by then,” Variety’s Senior Awards Editor, Clayton Davis, said on Sunday, December 15, in a video obtained by TMZ.
Lopez, 55, interjected to add, “Wow,” as Davis continued to comment on her age, “which is getting up there” according to the reporter. Lopez nodded at the remark, replying, “I am.”
The comment elicited laughter — as well as some confusion — from the audience, with one person asking, “Did he really just say that?”
Davis continued the conversation by applauding Lopez for “one of your best performances” yet in Unstoppable, which was released in September.
“It’s funny you think that I’m getting up there,” Lopez began, while Davis spoke up to clarify that his comment was a “joke.” Lopez appeared unfazed by the remark, and instead chose to praise the audience.
“It’s because I want to say thank you, you guys. Because we’ve been doing this a long time together. Been doing it a long time and you guys have been here with me,” Lopez said. “Today, I was singing some new songs and I went back and sang ‘If You Had My Love,’ which is my first song, 1999. It’s that thing, of like, what a journey this has been.”
“I honestly feel that the best is yet to come,” she continued. “I honestly feel that my creativity and who I am as an artist — like you said, I also feel that this for me, was another kind of level for me of going deeper into who I am as a person, as an artist.”
And Lopez is far from the first woman in Hollywood to feel and prove that age is indeed just a number. For more moments where celebrities have rightfully clapped back at comments in response to comments about their age, keep scrolling:
Justin Baldoni Told Us Men 'Want to Be Better' Before Blake Lively Lawsuit
Justin Baldoni spoke out about believing that men “want to be better” months before Blake Lively accused him of sexual harassment.
While speaking exclusively with Us Weekly in October, Baldoni, 40, said that while men are “the driving force of all crime,” their behavior is “a cry for help.”
“This is not because men are bad men. I believe that there is a cry for help. There’s a cry for community right now. We want to be good men. We want to be better men,” the actor told Us at the time. “What I’ve learned is that men are awesome. What I’ve learned is that every man I meet wants to be a good man and a better man. That men are not trash, that men are not to be labeled this thing, but we as men have to do a better job supporting other men and creating safe spaces for them.”
Justin Baldoni Previously Admitted to ‘Unhealthy Relationship’ With Porn
Baldoni made the comments while discussing his podcast “Man Enough,” which “explores what it means to be a man today and how rigid gender roles have affected all people,” per the podcast’s website. He told Us that he had intentionally “made an effort” not to use the phrase “toxic masculinity” when discussing men on his podcast.
“The reason why is because it’s one of those phrases that’s been politicized, and you lose a bunch of people. In my experience, a word isn’t worth it. If 50 percent of the people will not hear my message because of a phrase, then I won’t [use it],” he explained.
Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit on Friday, December 20, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign to damage her reputation. In the legal filing, Lively claimed that a meeting was held to address her claims that there was a “hostile work environment” on the set of the film It Ends With Us, which Baldoni directed and starred in alongside Lively.
Breaking Down Blake Lively’s Accusations Against Justin Baldoni
Some of Lively’s demands for the meeting included “no more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake, no more mention of Baldoni’s alleged previous ‘pornography addiction,’ no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew’s genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake’s weight, and no further mention of Blake’s dead father.”
Lively also alleged in the lawsuit that Baldoni improvised unwanted kissing for the film, which hit theaters in August.
“Mr. Baldoni improvised physical intimacy that had not been rehearsed, choreographed, or discussed with Ms. Lively, with no intimacy coordinator involved,” the court documents state. “For instance, Mr. Baldoni discreetly bit and sucked on Ms. Lively’s lower lip during a scene in which he improvised numerous kisses on each take. Mr. Baldoni insisted on shooting the full scene over and over again, well beyond what would have been required on an ordinary set, and without advance notice or consent.”
Blake Lively Claims Justin Baldoni Texted About Ruining Her Reputation
The suit also includes text messages and emails which Lively obtained through a subpoena. The text messages allegedly show that Baldoni worked with a crisis PR team to prevent stories about his behavior and boost negative stories about Lively. In one message allegedly sent on August 2, a publicist working with Baldoni wrote to a crisis management expert, “He wants to feel like she can be buried.”
Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman called the suit’s claims “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” in a statement shared with Us, claiming that Lively filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” about the film’s production.
Lively, meanwhile, said in a statement to The New York Times, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”

Brittany posed with Patrick, who wore a knit top and tan pants, as well as their two kids, daughter Sterling and son Bronze, who also wore all-white outfits.

Tom Sandoval Brings Girlfriend Victoria Home to Missouri After Cheating Drama
Tom Sandoval is ringing in the holidays with his girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, by his side.
In the Instagram Story video reshared on Monday, December 23, Sandoval, 42, leaned over a table that featured a line of numerous lit candles. A decorated Christmas tree was visible in the background as family members were seen chatting.
While saying “Merry Christmas,” Sandoval attempted to blow out all of the candles in the line — and nearly did. Only five candles remained lit after his try, which received praise from his family members.
“Had to try this w his fam,” Robinson captioned the upload, tagging Sandoval and the location as St. Charles, Missouri.
Sandoval and Robinson’s holiday festivities came days after she appeared to suggest that he cheated on her with a reference to his past affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, which ended his decade-long romance with Ariana Madix.
“Wow … you guys were right. Tiger never changes its stripes,” she wrote via Instagram on December 16. “He loves the best friends apparently. I feel like a fool. Completely heartbroken.”
Sandoval proceeded to go on Instagram Live and hinted at tension between the twosome. “Victoria is calling me,” Sandoval noted in a clip. “Definitely made a big mistake earlier.”
Hours later, Robinson apologized for her claims. “I would like to sincerely apologize for my previous post. I had a true misjudgment in a situation. Tom did not do anything,” she wrote via Instagram Story. “From my own personal trauma and experiences hearing false accusations about him all the time clouded my judgment and got the best of me.”
Tom Sandoval's Girlfriend Apologizes to Him After Cheating Accusations
“Please respect him and know he’s actually been the most supportive partner,” she continued. “The internet can be harsh sometimes and I’m learning how to block out the noise.”
Sandoval and Robinson went public with their relationship in February after he shared an Instagram photo of her kissing him on the shoulder. Robinson also uploaded a snap of the duo cuddling.
“This week, my addiction of the week is definitely my friend Victoria that I have been hanging out with. She’s definitely super awesome and she’s one of the sweetest people,” Sandoval shared on the “Billie and the Kid” podcast in February. “Obviously I have known her for a really long time, but we went on our first date last night.”
Sandoval gushed over Robinson’s sweet nature, adding, “That s— turns me on so much.”
“She is a model, she works a lot and she is very successful. She does well for herself but she is also very humble and really cool,” he said. “She is just a very sweet, thoughtful person.”
Blake Lively’s Next Steps Include Calculating Economic and Noneconomic Damages
In the days following Blake Lively’s lawsuit against It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni, many have been wondering what the next steps are for the actress.
Ron Zambrano, the Employment Litigation Chair at West Coast Trial Lawyers who is not affiliated with the case, exclusively told Us Weekly that the Civil Rights Department will start its investigation and request a formal response with any evidence any of the defendants want to provide. (In the docs obtained by Us and filed on Friday, December 20, Lively, 37, accused Baldoni, 40, of launching a “social manipulation” campaign against her to “destroy” her reputation. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, called Lively’s accusations “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” in a statement to Us, claiming that Lively filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” about the film’s production.)
“Then the CDR evaluates whether to do follow up fact gathering, require a mediation, or escalate matters to file on Lively’s behalf,” Zambrano said. “The latter likely won’t happen as she’s represented by two national firms known mostly for defending these types of claims.”
Zambrano pointed out that at any point in the process, Lively’s team can request “an immediate Right to Sue letter, which ends the CDR’s jurisdiction.”
Breaking Down Blake Lively’s Accusations Against Justin Baldoni
Lively would have a year from the letter to file a civil complaint. “When that happens depends on the CDR, unless Lively requests one immediately,” Zambrano — who also weighed in on Baldoni’s possible next steps with Us — said.
Zambrano explained that there are both economic and noneconomic damages Lively’s team could potentially be able to calculate. (Lively is currently seeking unspecified damages.)
“The [economic damages] is calculable,” he said. (The docs filed by Lively address how her businesses were allegedly affected by the online backlash she believes was encouraged and spearheaded by Baldoni. “For example, Ms. Lively canceled a critical Target corporate event for her hair care company [Blake Brown Beauty], and she backed out of her scheduled role to host the premier episode of the 50th anniversary season of Saturday Night Live in September 2024,” the suit reads, adding that “the sudden and unexpected negative media campaign launched against Ms. Lively depressed retail sales of Blake Brown products by 56 percent [to] 78 percent” while her other businesses were negatively affected because she felt forced to go dark on social media.)
As for the noneconomic damages, Zambrano told Us: “The latter is a number that is ‘told’ to us by Lively’s team is the value of her emotional distress or other human harm. It’s an art, not a science. What’s asked for in a complaint is not necessarily what is asked of a jury to award. Monetary demands in civil cases (unless it’s a business dispute) isn’t very consequential in my view.”

Zambrano noted that the Civil Rights Department may order that the parties mediate. “Whether they actually settle is up to the parties,” he said. “The requirement is only to participate in mediation. It’s always in the benefit of the defendant to resolve the case.”
Us reached out to Lively’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back. In a statement to The New York Times regarding her lawsuit, Lively said, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
Breaking Down One Direction's Solo Careers by the Numbers
Since One Direction’s 2016 split, members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have each embarked on their own solo careers.
Malik was the first to do so after abruptly leaving the boy band in March 2015. He subsequently signed a solo contract with RCA Records, and released his debut album, Mind of Mine, the following year.
Styles followed suit in June 2016, re-signing with Columbia Records and dropping his self-titled debut in May 2017. Horan, meanwhile, inked a deal with Capitol Records in September 2016, and released his first album, Flicker, in October 2017.
Payne and Tomlinson, meanwhile, put out a series of singles before releasing their debut albums LP1 and Walls in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Despite parting ways, the former boy banders remained in touch over the years and even reunited at Payne’s funeral in November 2024 funeral. (Paye died at age 31 one month prior after falling from a third story hotel balcony in Argentina.)
“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” the remaining members wrote in a joint statement in October 2024. “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.”
