Caspar Lee Says He Made $1 Million on YouTube at the Age of 21

5 July 2025 at 11:44

Caspar Lee went viral on YouTube in the 2010s, leading to some mind-boggling million-dollar paydays.

“I started making YouTube videos when I was 16. It wasn’t really a business avenue. I just thought, this is a cool thing and I want to try to build it up as big as I can,” Lee, 31, told The Times of London in a Friday, July 4, profile. “When I was 18, I asked my parents if I could take a year off before going to university and do YouTube full time. At that point I had two or three thousand pounds in my bank account.”

As Lee started making more videos, his income slowly grew, too.

“I was fortunate to be part of [a] group of YouTubers in the right place at the right time, and the audience and figures grew,” Lee recalled. “I managed to interview Ed Sheeran, Kevin Hart [and] Dwayne Johnson. I turned my YouTube channel into a talk show. I think nearly 10 million people saw the Ed Sheeran video — that was when things really took off. By the time I was 21, I’d made my first million.”

He added, “It felt good to get to that point and have a financial cushion for me and my family, but making even more money doesn’t incrementally make you more happy. Even though I made an extreme amount of money quickly, I didn’t know how long it would last.”

For Lee, who didn’t grow up overtly wealthy, he tried to save “as much as possible.”

“It’s kind of how someone feels when they win the lottery,” he said. “I don’t really get a buzz from spending. If I spend money on something that I think can make more money one day, then I get a buzz, but I don’t like buying something that I know is just going to lose its value the second I walk out the room.”

Lee has since transitioned his career offline, launching multiple businesses and a venture capital fund, also worth millions.

“I can’t really see a time when I’ll stop working. You never know what’s going to happen with global politics or economics, so I hope to have a diverse portfolio of investments that will keep me going,” he added. “My venture fund has been incredible. I’ve invested a lot of my personal money into that.”

All in all, Lee wants to be able to build “a nest to look after [his] family.”

“I don’t have children yet, but I want to make sure my future family will be well looked after,” Lee, who married model Ambar Driscoll in February, added. “Once you feel secure financially, any additional money doesn’t necessarily make you happier. Some people spend their life trying to just chase money for the wrong reason, but I really enjoy building things. It’s the process, not the money, that makes me happy.”

A Look Back at Julian McMahon's Relationship History

5 July 2025 at 11:12

In the wake of Charmed and Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon’s shocking death, fans of the beloved actor are looking back at his previous relationships and deep loves of his life.

“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” his wife, Kelly Panigua, told Deadline in a statement on July 4, confirming the actor’s passing. “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

McMahon was best known for his roles on the two hit series, as well as his appearance as Dr. Doom in two Fantastic Four movies, 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

McMahon’s personal life included three marriages to singer Dannii Minogue, actress Brooke Burns and his longest marriage to Paniagua.

McMahon and the Australian singer and actress — who is also the younger sister of Kylie Minogue — met while filming the 1988 series Home and Away. The pair wed in 1994, but their marriage ended after 18 months.

The pair spent a lot of their marriage apart, as Minogue worked in England and McMahon was pursuing roles in the United States. In an interview with Mamma Mia’s podcast No Filter, Minogue also said that McMahon’s mother played a role in their split.

“There was no relationship, she wouldn’t speak to me, I wasn’t allowed to be near her in the house, she said she wasn’t coming to the wedding,” Minogue said. “We just had no idea how to handle it — we were just trying to.”

Minogue also said traveling frequently to see McMahon was expensive. “I was travelling every two weeks to see him, and I not only ran out of money – I was in debt,” she said.

“I thought, ‘I’ll support you until you get on your feet. Then we can support each other,’” the singer added. “Then the marriage was off… it was a huge struggle emotionally, physically, mentally, financially.”

Burns and McMahon were married from 1999 to 2001 and share one daughter, Madison, who was born in June 2000. In the wake of McMahon’s death, the actress paid tribute to her ex-husband on social media.

Burns shared a photo of her ex-husband and daughter together via Instagram on July 5 and captioned it, “Rest in peace” alongside a broken heart emoji.

Doherty and McMahon dated briefly when they were both starring on Charmed. The pair’s relationship reportedly took place while he was married to Burns, during the same time frame of Doherty’s third and final season on the show, which aired from October 2000 to May 2001. The pair also costarred in the 2001 TV movie Another Day.

Nicki Swift reported Burns found out about the relationship via the National Enquirer and once explained, “It was the straw that broke the camel’s back. He’s a good father. Funny, he was really great when we were together … he got carried away by all the Los Angeles hoopla.”

McMahon and Paniagua began dating in 2003 and tied the knot in Lake Tahoe in June 2014, the Daily Telegraph reported at the time. The pair had gotten engaged in November 2013 while on a trip to Melbourne, Australia.

The pair were very private and did not speak about their relationship frequently. In her statement confirming McMahon’s death, Paniagua described him as her “beloved husband.”

Kelly Monaco Says She Was Warned Against Doing 'DWTS' as an Actor

5 July 2025 at 11:04

Before Kelly Monaco was crowned the first-ever Dancing With the Stars winner, she was warned that joining the hit reality competition series could damage her career.

“I had a letter in my mailbox in my dressing room at General Hospital. We have these little mailboxes outside of our dressing rooms, and there was a letter in there, and it was a request to do Dancing with the Stars,” Monaco, 49, recalled to Entertainment Weekly in a profile published on Saturday, July 5.I remember bringing it home and getting feedback from family, friends, and so forth, and they were like, ‘You can’t do a reality show. Actors don’t do a reality show.’”

She added, “I had never heard of ballroom dancing before. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But I was just like, ‘F*** it. I’ll try anything once.’ That’s how I’ve always rolled in life. If an opportunity comes, I’ll try it.”

DWTS, based on England’s popular Strictly Come Dancing reality TV competition, premiered in 2005. Monaco, who was paired with pro dancer Alec Mazo, competed against John O’Hurley, Joey McIntyre, Rachel Hunter, Evander Holyfield and Trista Sutter.

Kelly Monaco Speaks Out on ‘General Hospital’ Exit After 21 Years

“The first season was only six episodes. It was a test run, and I was like, ‘I’m not going to tell anyone I’m doing it and hopefully I get voted off first and no one will ever see it,’” the soap opera star recalled to EW. “After the first episode, I was horrified by the comments from the judges, and I got the lowest score, I think, ever in the history of Dancing With the Stars. So, I was like, ‘OK, it’s on. We’re going in and we’re doing this.’ Then I took it seriously, and I was all in at that point.”

According to Monaco, she thought she would be eliminated each week.

“I didn’t think I was a good dancer at all. I improved weekly. I think people related to me in that I went from duck feet to being able to spin,” she said. “I have ruptured eardrums, equilibrium problems, and for me to even be able to do that without falling flat on my face was a journey in itself. I was so proud every week that I made it a week further.”

Monaco’s ballroom journey also included a now-infamous wardrobe malfunction, where her dress broke during her and Mazo’s samba in week four.

“Alec was very strict, and he prepared me for every obstacle. He would have whoever was around throw obstacles at us,” Monaco added. “So, he prepared me for that, but oh my God, it was so scary. I felt like someone had a laser beam from five miles away and shot my costume. It was a countdown to going live, ‘Five, four, three, pop!’ I was like, ‘What am I supposed to do?’”

How ‘Days’ Cast Reacted to Kelly Monaco’s ‘General Hospital’ Exit

She continued, “I know I get at least five counts of a walk over to Alec, walking toward him for our dance. But I remember looking at the judges, looking at whoever like, ‘Is there a stop button? Okay, there’s nothing. I just have to go through it.’ So, I’m like, ‘OK, well, I’ll just hold my dress up while I dance.’ Alec supported me every step of the way. I don’t think I felt more confident in any dance.”

According to Monaco, the wardrobe mishap was “the turnaround of [her] experience with dance and the show.”

“After that, the audience related to me because I was on soap operas for so long, I had only been known as this villain and was only called by my soap name in public,” she said. “This gave the audience a chance to see the real me in a circumstance where you can either fall flat or rise above.”

Monaco’s performance — she later returned to the first and only All-Stars season in 2012, finishing in third place with partner Val Chermovskiy — has set the standard for the competition. A 34th season has been greenlit this fall, starring Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt and more.

'Marvel's Runaways' Cast Reacts to Julian McMahon's Death at 56

5 July 2025 at 10:07

The Marvel’s Runaways cast will forever remember their late costar Julian McMahon.

McMahon played Jonah, an alien magistrate, on the Hulu series, which aired from 2016 to 2019. The Marvel Television show was adapted from the comic book of the same name, highlighting a group of teens in Los Angeles who run away from their respective parents when they find out about their nefarious deeds under Jonah’s leadership. Jonah is also the biological father of teen Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner).

“The show is pretty full-on,” McMahon said during a December 2018 appearance on AOL’s Build Series. “I really enjoyed this season [2] because we shot a lot of stuff in 70 mill. It’s all digital, but 70 mill, so everything’s got this epic, kind of seismic vibe to it.”

Runaways was canceled in November 2019 after its third season. McMahon died six years later after a battle with cancer. He was 56.

“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” his wife, Kelly McMahon, said in a statement shared on Friday, July 4. “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

She continued, “We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

In addition to Kelly, Julian is survived by 25-year-old daughter Madison, whom he shared with ex-wife Brooke Burns.

‘8 Simple Rules’ Alum Amy Davidson Gives Sobriety Journey Update

5 July 2025 at 09:32

Amy Davidson is opening up about her ongoing sobriety journey and how she sidesteps any potential pitfalls.

“Let’s talk triggers. I went to one of my favorite wineries/restaurants to celebrate a dear friend of mine yesterday and was surprised (and not fully prepared) by my reaction,” Davidson, 45, wrote via an Instagram post on Friday, July 4. “I felt like I was slapped in the face with a huge life lesson. Being around wine, something I would drink every single day, with girlfriends celebrating a friend’s milestone birthday, everywhere I looked we were surrounded by wine and wine and more wine — it was challenging at first and I got in my head big time.”

Davidson went on to explain that she quietly asked herself “what would happen if I had a sip or just one glass of wine?” while “feeling envious” of the people who were “able to enjoy it without the internal dialogue of wanting more and more.”

“Being amongst the ‘normalcy’ of drinking alcohol and not participating was a very big step for me,” she continued. “I haven’t participated in six months. I’m slowly changing my headspace from missing wine to being beyond grateful for not consuming it anymore. It sneaks up on you. The cravings, feeling like it’s going to fix a bad day, like it’s your best friend you get to hang out with on the couch, your sidekick, your confidence builder, your liquid courage.”

Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian and More Stars Who Don't Drink

She added, “Sorry friends, but that’s all bulls***. Alcohol simply takes from us and what we think it gives us in return is a facade. I’m not preaching I’m just sharing. I’ve been learning way too much not to share… Anyway, we’ll save it for another day.”

In February, the 8 Simple Rules alum announced she was 30 days sober in another Instagram post.

“I am one month sober — today. And counting. And I’m so happy,” she said at the time. “I feel really good and I am excited and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey.”

Since then, Davidson has documented her sobriety journey while celebrating important milestones, including 100 days sober.

“Gratitude doesn’t even explain it,” Davidson wrote at the time after achieving her 100-day milestone. “I’ve been pretty MIA lately. Not sure why? I will try to be more present. I am still here to share my experience, possibly help you with yours, and seek advice from those who are ahead of me.”

Brooks Nader Suffers Wardrobe Mishap in White Skirt on Her Period

5 July 2025 at 09:31

Brooks Nader selected the perfect tennis whites to wear to Wimbledon — until she unexpectedly started her period while watching the match.

“Tries to be chic,” Nader, 28, wrote via TikTok on Friday, July 4. “Starts 🩸 at Wimbledon.”

The model wore a cap-sleeve black blouse with a long white skirt to watch the tournament on Friday. In her video, she spun around to reveal that the back of her crisp, white skirt had a small blood stain.

“Of course 🎾 #wimbledon,” she added in her caption.

Nader’s unfortunate wardrobe malfunction was all too familiar to her social media followers.

“You’re so real for this,” a TikTok user wrote, with another adding, “A canon event for all us girlies.”

A third chimed in, “🩸happens. Thank you for NORMALIZING it 😎.”

Another social media user joked that the issue happened “the one time” that Nader chose to wear “something non-sheer and maxi.”

The Most Embarrassing Wardrobe Malfunctions of All Time

“LITERALLY,” Nader replied. “Back to sheer.”

Brooks went to watch the tennis championship with her sisters Grace Ann Nader and Sarah Jane Nader. Brooks and her siblings, including sister Mary Holland Nader, are famously close and even recently filmed a Hulu docuseries called Love Thy Nader about their tight-knit bond.

“There’s four of us. I can’t even count on one hand how many of them there are,” Brooks exclusively told Us Weekly in May. “You can expect everything to be laid out there. There’s chaos, there’s drama, there’s boys [and] there’s girls. There’s everything you can imagine under the sun. Just four girls from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, living in the big city in SoHo — all under the same roof. What can go wrong?”

She added, “We grew up from very humble beginnings. We just had this dream; we all shared the same dream, and we moved to New York City and we’re just chasing that.”

Brooks further teased to Us that the new series will also feature a “little crossover moment” with the Kardashian sisters, who have their own Hulu docuseries.

Love Thy Nader premieres on Hulu later this summer.

Glen Powell Dons His Best Tennis Whites While Attending 2025 Wimbledon

5 July 2025 at 09:07

Wimbledon 2025 is well under way and the stars are out in full force — including Glen Powell, who showed up dressed to impress.

Powell was photographed attending the annual tennis tournament on Saturday, July 5. The actor, 36, arrived wearing an off-white patterned suit and a white button-up underneath. To complete the tennis-worthy look, he wore brown loafers, dark sunglasses and a spiky hairstyle.

The actor isn’t the only famous face who has been spotted at Wimbledon this week. The tournament, which has historically been well-attended by members of the British royal family, has featured appearances from Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra in addition to plenty of high-profile couples.

Louis Partridge and Olivia Rodrigo, who confirmed their relationship in December 2023, were spotted in the Royal Box during the Gentlemen’s Singles second round match between Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Oliver Tarvet of Great Britain on Wednesday, July 2. Chopra and Jonas were also seen at the same match.

Tom Cruise, Zendaya and More Stars Step Out at Wimbledon Finals

Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum also attended the tournament this week, a rare outing for the duo since the Foo Fighters singer admitted to an affair and fathering a baby with another woman in September 2024.

Powell is currently gearing up for the September 2025 release of his Hulu comedy series Chad Powers. The half-hour series is inspired by Eli Manning’s 2022 ESPN+ docuseries Eli’s Places.

“We’re both diehard college football fans. When we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew that was the way into a big, fun story about this world,” Powell and cocreator Michael Waldron said in a joint statement shared in February 2024. “We’re excited to be part of this team, and can’t wait to get Chad in the game. Think fast, run fast.”

Both Eli Manning and his brother Peyton Manning serve as executive producers on the show.

Glen Powell’s Look for New Show ‘Chad Powers’ Has the Internet Talking

“I thought he looked unbelievable. I mean, he looked terrible, which is hard for Glen to look really bad. He looked bad like I did!” Eli exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2024. “I’ve been talking to him, working with him a little bit in the offseason and to get him ready. And he’s fired up to play quarterback and to play Chad. He’s gonna do a great job. I can’t wait to see him in action.”

Eli added that he never imagined the skit would turn into a full-fledged series.

“Who would’ve ever known?” he also said. “I thought it was a funny idea: ‘Go and try out for a Penn State football team. Have a little fun.’ I hadn’t played football in a couple years, and so [I wanted to] see if I can still throw it and go back out there and compete. And now it’s turning into a show on Hulu. I mean, it’s unbelievable.”
