Emma Grede is nothing short of inspirational.

She’s the Founding Partner of Skims, the cofounder and CEO of Good American and Forbes listed her as one of America’s richest self-made women. She also does philanthropic work for the Fifteen Percent Pledge and the Obama Foundation.

But that’s not all: the fashion and consumer brand mastermind’s resume just became even more impressive. She recently launched her namesake podcast, Aspire with Emma Grede.

The serial entrepreneur told Us that the inspiration behind the name stemmed from the notion of “believing in something” and then “aspiring” to achieve those goals. For Grede, it’s not just about having hopes and dreams, but “doing the work” to achieve them.

The show, which is now listed at number three on Apple’s Top New Shows list, has since released several episodes, featuring chats with business moguls from Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Rubin to Karlie Kloss. But don’t expect Aspire to be just another podcast in the entrepreneurship space that will leave people “entertained” — it goes beyond that.

It’s safe to say the founder’s upbringing helped set the blueprint for this show. “[I] grew up in a place that was not very inspiring,” she said, revealing that she is “super dyslexic” herself. “I need things broken down in a really simple way,” Grede admitted. “And I really want to be able to do that for people.”

And though Grede is quick to also acknowledge how “fortunate” she feels to have “had exposure to so many incredible people,” she understands that’s not the case for everyone.

“Sometimes you don’t have the people around you that can give you [the right] information,” she shared. “[Aspire] is about giving people actionable, tangible advice that they can listen to and [use].”

Of course, we at Us are also curious about the daily habits Grede has attributed to her success. Discussing the topic of manifestation — a word that seems to be everywhere nowadays, Grede takes a more traditional approach.

Although she’s not completely against the idea of repeating positive affirmations and meditation, she stresses how nothing beats “real hard work and some sacrifice.” Added Grede: “None of it is a substitute for really hard work,” she emphasized. “You need to have a plan and you need to work really, really hard towards it. That’s what’s going to make you successful.”

She brought up another fantastic point. “If you’re gonna be successful to be successful in business, you have to be successful in life, right? You can’t really have one without the other,” she stated. “There’s other things that I do, parts of my routine, that enable me to be successful,” she noted. One of those other things: how she uses her free time upon waking up.

“My first ever job was a paper route. And when you have a paper route, you have to get up really, really early in the morning to go and get the papers,” she explained. “[That’s where] I learned the power of the mornings.”

But no morning is ever the same for the mom-of-four, and that’s completely OK and besides the point. Whether she uses an “hour and a half to work out” or to sip on some hot water with lemon, it doesn’t matter. Speaking of self-care practices, what beauty products can she not live without? “I have to confess: I am a product junkie,” she joked. But her answer is surprisingly simple when it comes to the pampering buys she truly swears by.

It’s safe to say we all know how crucial wearing SPF is. But with so much information and products on the market, how do we know which formulas to use and the best application techniques to practice?

Luckily for us, Dr. Dhaval G. Bhanusali, a celebrity board-certified dermatologist at Hudson Dermatology & Laser Surgery—whose clients include Hailey Bieber and Martha Stewart — shared his top tips for effectively shielding against UV rays.

From his honest take on mineral sunscreens to the keywords to look out for on labels, here’s his foolproof guide to solid suncare.

ONE SIZE DOESN’T FIT ALL

Are mineral sunscreens — a.k.a. formulas infused with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide — a must for delicate complexions? Not always. “Previously, it was believed that [they] were better for sensitive skin, but with improved formulas and science, there is no longer such a divide,” Bhanusali explained. If you are a fan of physical blends, we’re loving the Future Screen SPF 50 Modern Mineral Skinscreen from Ultra Violette.

YES, YOU NEED TO WEAR SPF INDOORS

The expert reminded Us that you’re not only susceptible to UV damage when you’re in the sun: “UV rays can penetrate through glass and are even present during the cloudy days when you expect it least.”

Bhanusali encourages choosing a sunscreen with “at least an SPF of 30 or higher” and making sure “broad-spectrum” is on the packaging. His go-to? “One of the best anti-aging hacks I teach my patients is to apply sunscreen to the neck, décolletage and back of hands,” he shared. “While it may not seem important now, it makes all the difference when someone gets older.”

RETHINK YOUR POST-BEACH BRONZE

“A tan is actually the sign of your body trying to protect itself after injury,” Bhanusali says. “A sunburn is really the result of cell death. The hyperpigmentation you get later is directly because of the decisions you make today,” he emphasizes. And if you’re currently trying to minimize the intensity of dark spots, we recommend a radiance booster like Mother Science’s Molecular Hero Serum.

THE TRICK TO PROPER SPF APPLICATION

“Apply about two finger-lengths of sunscreen and reapply every two hours or so, especially if out in the sun,” the dermatologist says. “I like [using] three finger-lengths a bit better, so there’s enough for the neck as well.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT MAKEUP-INFUSED SPF

“There are a lot of tinted sunscreens [and powders] that can help improve the appearance of skin,” he notes, adding that the latter is best suited for “reapplication” purposes only. “The warm tonality naturally enhances the complexion [by] bringing a flush to the cheeks and a warmer tint to the lips,” celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel said of the trending color, which is particularly an ideal choice for brunettes. The creative director of hair care brand Virtue further explained that the “sunkissed” tone “mixes bronze and honey tones with [brown] shades,” which is why it’s a perfect option for the warm-weather season.

London dished out simple style tips that will help you step up your daily outfits without breaking the bank. Some of them were surprising but refreshing, such as opting for a particular vibrant hue rather than season-typical pastels or earthy colorways. The expert also emphasized how a certain unexpected pattern is taking center stage, and it’s actually an easy print to incorporate into your everyday looks.

Another must-have style she spoke to is one that’s been all over the red carpet, and it reiterates the fact that, yes, less is more.

Last but far from least, she revealed to the cool-girl accessory that’s having a big-time resurgence and the forever iconic wardrobe must item will leave you effortlessly channeling Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis with a modern-day twist.

Blue Is the New Black

“All trends come back sooner or later,” London told Us, explaining that while “last year was all about red,” now we’re seeing a pivot towards “blue shades, including periwinkle, cornflower, azure and cobalt.” The reason? “Blues are generally flattering on all skin tones.”

“The headscarf trend comes around year after year, but especially [during the warm weather months] when photos of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis [who’s widely credited with kicking off the timeless trend in the 1960s] start to surface,” London said.

Not sure how to put it on? It’s easier than you think. “Take a large square scarf and fold it into a triangle,” she explained. Then, “position it on top of your head, with the pointed edge facing backward, and either tie it behind your head or underneath your chin.” The style guru said a “light silk scarf” is a popular choice, and Sabrina Carpenter is jut the latest in a long line of proof.

Lucy Hale should add “beauty guru” to her résumé.

The Met Gala may be fashion’s biggest night, but red carpet-ready beauty was also key this year.

Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 5, the theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which inspired the “Tailored for You” dress code, as the guests were encouraged to put a spin on menswear and suiting, which extended to the artfully curated glam and grooming.

The best looks were all about the finer details.

It’s safe to say that glowing, lit-from-within skin was definitely in. (We’re still not over Law Roach‘s radiant finish, which celebrity makeup artist A. Love helped achieve with e.l.f. “It’s a perfect blend of structure and ease,” explains Stimac, who calls the style “a must-have for every wardrobe.” A spring-perfect flat, like The Danza from M.Gemi, or a design featuring a pointed or rounded toe, as seen on Zoe Saldana, are your best footwear pairings for this silhouette.

2. Cuffed

The fad is “a modern refresh on baggy, straight-leg and wide-leg jeans,” said Stimac, who also suggested completing this look with sporty trainers (we love the Gola Daytona Blaze Sneaker) or sexy heels just like Naomi Watts did.

3. Barrel

“These are quickly becoming a closet essential,” the fashion pro told Us. “The curved, wide-leg silhouette [creates] an editorial feel, making even the simplest pairings — tees, tanks and cardigans — look instantly cool.” Although statement stilettos or peep-toe pumps, like Julianne Moore’s, would look amazing with balloon jeans, preppy loafers like this pair from Steve Madden will be just as stylishly in step.

4. Capri

“With a ’60s mod feel and a touch of ’90s nostalgia, denim capris are making a strong comeback,” ensured Stimac. “Keep the look clean and chic by pairing them with a fitted top and sleek thong sandals.” And don’t think too much about it, either: Throw on a simple black tank like Gigi Hadid and versatile ballerina shoes, such as Boden’s Kitty Flexi Sole Ballet Flats.

5. Wide-Leg

Fashion meets function: “This is a timeless silhouette that flatters every body type,” the expert said of the baggy style. Elevate your pair with a retro platform, such as the Seychelles Paloma Sandal, and a romantic, ruffled blouse à la Sydney Sweeney.

6. Bootcut

“It’s a throwback with a modern twist,” Stimac said of the slightly flared pants, which give off subtle ’70 vibes. Meghan Markle was spotted wearing the style back in February of this year, and we love how she paired it with a simple bootie and oversized sweater. If the weather feels too hot for a closed-toe shoe, Stimac suggested reaching for an attention-grabbing slingback or a lace-up sandal with a slight heel.

But the dancer-inspired shoe doesn’t have to be worn solely with slacks or denim. On Tuesday, March 11, in Paris, Hadid, 29, gave her Mansur Gavriel Glove Flats an edgier twist by opting for leather barrel bottoms.

The Guest in Residence mastermind complemented the sleek, high-waisted Loewe trousers with a basic white top and an Alexander Wang bomber jacket. She topped off the simple but statement-making getup with two Miu Miu accessories that blend form and fashion: a black belt and the Arcadie Matelassé Nappa Leather Bag.

For centuries, fashion has inspired, fostered creativity, sparked innovation and brought joy. However, the industry and its endless offerings can be harmful to the environment.

In fact, it’s the second-biggest consumer of water and responsible for about 10 percent of global carbon emissions. But there is good news! Eco-friendly fashion is more in demand than ever, with consumers and designers prioritizing sustainability.

“If I were celebrating one thing in the fashion industry today, it’s that they’re so willing to change the narrative,” Dr. Karen Pearson, Fashion Institute of Technology professor and chair of the school’s sustainability effort, shared with Us Weekly exclusively. Here, we salute some of the stars and designers making a (still stylish) impact.

ARCHIVAL AESTHETIC

Everything old is new (and hot!) again. Rocking pre-loved pieces has become a major Hollywood trend, and nobody has committed to it like Zendaya, who’s brought new life to archival items from Bob Mackie, Mugler, Maison Margiela and more. With Law Roach as her longtime image architect, it’s no surprise: Roach — who started his career with the now-defunct Deliciously Vintage clothing store — has made it his personal mission to reinvent iconic looks.

“I’ve been championing vintage for all of my career, and I was at the forefront of bringing vintage and archival to the red carpet,” he’s said. “I think the easiest way to be sustainable is just to wear something someone else has already worn and purchased.” Other stars famous for wearing archival and vintage stunners include Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and Amal Clooney, to name a few.

STEP AND REPEAT

Even in the glamorous world of celebrities, there’s no shame in repeating outfits. “We’ve seen over the last decade [that fashion] used to be seasonal, now it’s trans-seasonal, multiseasonal and brands are designing for outlet stores,” Cate Blanchett has said. “When you know the world is consuming 18 billion pieces of clothing a year, which is up 400 percent from a decade ago, you think, ‘This is not working.’” And that is why the Black Bag actress has become known as the Queen of Sustainable Fashion. “This is not some strange club. I’m not the only person doing this,” she said. In fact, the club is getting larger all the time: Everyone from Kate Middleton to Halle Berry and Tiffany Haddish has recycled red-carpet looks.

FAMILY HEIRLOOMS

Angelina Jolie’s children have taken an eco-friendly approach to dressing by shopping her closet, a lesson they no doubt learned from their Oscar-winning mom. “We did all vintage and upcycled my old stuff,” the actress said of her family while on the red carpet at the 2021 Los Angeles premiere of Eternals. The actress went on to launch her purpose-driven label, Atelier Jolie, in 2023 and backed New York’s Fashion Act, aiming to make the industry more sustainable. She noted, “Everyone is aware, I think, of the waste of natural resources, overconsumption and overproduction and labor rights violations that currently take place in the industry and society as a whole.”

ECO-CHIC

“Who says sustainability can’t be sexy?” asked designer Stella McCartney, who’s been a leader in eco-friendly design since 2001, after debuting a jumpsuit with the first-ever biodegradable sequins modeled by Cara Delevingne in the pages of Vogue. The designer continues to lead the way through her use of innovative fabrics and her commitment to circular fashion.

While McCartney set the bar for sustainable red carpet dressing, many designers are following suit — especially when it’s at the request of an A-lister! “If I’m going to go to the Met Ball, there has to be solar panels on my head, or I’m not going,” joked Amanda Seyfried, who asked Prada to create a gown for last year’s annual Costume Institue gala. The result? A striking silver confection that was repurposed from the fashion house’s Spring 2009 collection.

Sustainability is also at the forefront for celeb-loved labels like Reformation. Kacey Musgraves recently joined forces with the eco-friendly clothing label (which has been 100 percent carbon-neutral since 2015) on a capsule collection. “Partnering with an earth-conscious brand I’m organically a fan of was such a joy,” the country singer said.

These are just a few examples of the many celebrities, designers and brands working towards sustainability. “We should celebrate the innovations, and we should absolutely cheer for anybody who is willing to talk and try to do things differently,” Dr. Pearson noted. “We’re starting to see real movement and power towards that direction.”

And that’s good for all of Us!

HOW YOU CAN DO YOUR PART

If you’re in a position to splurge, take note from some of Hollywood’s best-dressed A-listers and dip your toes into the pre-loved luxury fashion market by shopping styles from the stars. Look no further for glam inspiration for your next night out: Jenna Ortega’s beauty look at the Death of a Unicorn screening in New York City on March 11 holds the answers.

The striking yet subtly glitzy eye makeup shut down the red carpet. So naturally, we just had to get the scoop from the mastermind behind it all, Vincent Oquendo. In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly, he broke it down step by step with the exact products he used on the actress.

“When I showed Jenna the combination of the black eyeliner with the sparkle on top, she felt like it looked like the skin of the unicorn from the film and got instantly excited,” the celebrity makeup artist told Us of the inspiration behind the aesthetic.

The moody-slash-glamorous vibes — which Oquendo described as “East Village punk meets a unicorn” — are surprisingly not that complicated to achieve. “I am a huge fan of negative space, so there are some parts of the eye makeup that don’t have anything but the natural skin tone,” Oquendo pointed out.

To create the “double-winged eyeliner” look, the pro first grabbed Dior’s Diorshow On Stage Crayon in #099 Black. He applied the smudge-proof formula along the upper lash line and drew a classic winged eyeliner. Then, he glided the pencil along the bottom lash line to create another “double” winged effect.

As her reminded Us: Don’t forget to apply it along the bottom waterline, as he did for Ortega. “It’s the perfect way to create a punk-inspired look that is universally flattering on almost any eye shape,” Oquendo explained.

Next, he picked up the Diorshow 5 Couleurs in #073 Pied-de-Poule and swept the “sparkly black shade” over the eyeliner, “carving into it” with cotton swabs (specifically, the kind that have thin, precise tips). Layering the eye shadow over the black eyeliner added just the right hint of glitz along with that “feathered, yet precise dropped double eyeliner look.” For the grand finale, he emphasized Ortega’s lashes with Dior’s Diorshow Mascara in #090 Black.

Holmes, 46, was spotted in New York City on Friday, March 7, wearing the perfect work-to-weekend outfit. The sharp yet casual look consisted of an earthy hued textured blazer — that featured slightly exaggerated shoulders — and a breezy button-down shirt underneath that she tucked inside a pair of high-waisted black jeans.

No, it may not be spring quite yet, but her laid-back getup was a happy reminder that the warm-weather months are approaching and that yes, there’s nothing quite like a preppy blazer and sporty shoe combination.

Leave it to Holmes to impeccably style the semi-monochromatic ensemble that radiated quiet luxury. She opted for two of spring’s hottest trends: retro-inspired kicks and a top-handle suede bag in a dark mocha shade (which may or may not have been a nod to Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2025).

It all started when D’Amelio, 20, was spotted at the Prada Fall 2025 runway show during Milan Fashion Week on Thursday, February 27, and let’s just say the TikTok sensation is continuing to take her personal style to the next level.

The social media star chose a midriff-baring ensemble from the Italian fashion house’s Spring 2025 collection. The two-piece set consisted of an emerald-green Radzimir Strapless Bra Top and a low-slung pleated skirt that was attached to a moto-chic belt.

Of course, the & Juliet ensemble member made the impossible-to-miss outfit appear timeless, effortless and classic. Long, beach-like waves added soft, earthy vibes and helped balance out the overall edgy flair, while minimal jewelry kept the attention on the show’s main star — a.k.a. her belt — which just so happened to accentuate her abs.
