'Cheers' Cast: Where Are They Now? Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman and More

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name — or in the case of Cheers, watch a show where you feel like family.

The critically acclaimed sitcom Cheers aired from 1982 to 1993, following a group of locals who hung out at a Boston bar of the same name. “Everything I do is because of the popularity of that show,” Ted Danson told Entertainment Tonight in September 2022. “It still makes me laugh when I watch sometimes. It’s funny and it’s great to see my friends and they make me laugh.”

Danson played the bar’s owner and head bartender, Sam Malone, a former Boston Red Sox relief pitcher. For the first five seasons, his character had an on-off relationship with Diane Chambers (Shelley Long). During one of their off periods, Diane dated psychiatrist and bar regular Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer). Sam, for his part, pursued savvy businesswoman Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley) after Long left the show during season 5.

Despite the lead characters’ undeniable chemistry, Cheers was first and foremost an ensemble show. Nicholas Colasanto, Rhea Perlman and George Wendt rounded out the original main cast.

‘Cheers’ Actor George Wendt Dead at 76

Former Cheers star George Wendt died on Tuesday, May 20. He was 76.

“Beloved actor and comedian, George Wendt, best known for starring in the NBC hit comedy Cheers, has passed away,” a rep for his family told Us Weekly in a statement. “George’s family confirmed the news of his death early Tuesday morning, announcing he died peacefully in his sleep while at home. George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him. He will be missed forever.”

Wendt began his career as a comedian at The Second City in the 1970s before turning his sights on TV acting. He had several guest starring roles on shows like Taxi, Alice and Hart to Hart in the 1980s before landing the role of Norm Peterson on Cheers in 1982.

Wendt portrayed the beloved character — an everyman who liked to drink beer at his local watering hole — for 11 seasons until the series ended in 1993. Throughout its run, he earned six Emmy nominations.

Why Denzel Washington Was Absent From Cannes Press Conference

UPDATE 05/20/25 at 4:55 p.m. ET — Denzel Washington’s absence from a Cannes Film Festival press conference was a planned one.

Director Spike Lee and actors Jeffrey Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera answered questions about their new film Highest 2 Lowest at the festival on Tuesday, May 20. Missing from the conference was Washington, who was seen in what seemed to be a tense exchange with a photographer at the film’s red carpet premiere the night prior.

The incident, however, was not the cause of his absence. A rep for the actor tells Us Weekly the Oscar winner was “always scheduled to be in and out of Cannes on Monday,” as it was his only day off from his Broadway play Othello.

Washington flew back to New York City after attending a cast photocall and the film’s premiere on Monday, May 19. “The studio and festival were aware weeks ago, ahead of time, that he would not be available for the press conference today due to his work commitment on the play,” his rep told Us in a statement.

Original story below:

Denzel Washington wasn’t about to let anything ruin his time at Cannes Film Festival.

Washington, 70, attended the world premiere for his film Higheset 2 Lowest on Monday, May 19. Per a video shared by the Daily Mail, the Oscar winner was spotted speaking with director Spike Lee on the red carpet when a photographer grabbed his arm to get his attention. Washington then turned to the photographer and pointed his finger warning him to stop.
Although the photographer smiled and appeared to nod in agreement, he then attempted to grab the actor again, causing Washington to turn around and once again repeatedly ask him to “stop.”
Despite the tense exchange, a rep for Washington told Us Weekly that it was a “great night at the Cannes Film Festival.”

Denzel Washington Does Not Win for 'Gladiator II' at the Golden Globes

Once inside, Washington’s evening continued to improve as his and Lee’s movie received a six-minute standing ovation, Deadline reported.
Highest 2 Lowest is the re-imagination of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller High and Low, which is based on the King’s Ransom written by Ed McBain.

In the new movie, a titan music mogul (Washington) becomes the target of a ransom plot in modern-day New York City and must face a life-or-death moral dilemma because of it.
After the Cannes screening on Monday, Lee, 68, sang Washington’s praises as he presented him with an honorary Palme d’Or Award. “This is my brother, right here,” Lee said of Washington, who replied, “This is a total surprise for me!”

Ice Spice Is Ready to Hit the Big Screen Opposite Denzel Washington

Denzel’s Cannes drama comes less than one year after he was filmed yelling at fans clamoring for an autograph in October 2024. At the time, Washington was spotted snapping at onlookers in New York City who were standing outside the Museum of Modern Art in hopes of catching his eye.
“I said, ‘I’ll see you when I get out, which part of that don’t y’all understand?’” Washington said in a video obtained by the Daily Mail last year.
He added, “It’s about showing love” and then was heard raising his voice before quipping, “Or not, or not! We can do it another way … or not, we can do it both ways!”

One Chicago Showrunners Tell Us Everything to Expect on Season Finales

There’s only one episode left for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. this season, and the One Chicago showrunners tease drama, romantic updates and danger for all.

During the May 14 episode of Chicago Med, viewers learned that Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) is pregnant with a baby presumed to be Dr. Mitch Ripley’s (Luke Mitchell). Showrunner Allen MacDonald exclusively told Us Weekly that when it comes to Hannah and Mitch’s future, it’s an “unfortunate wait and see” scenario.

He teased that fans might not get quick answers about how Hannah plans to proceed and whether she plans to tell Mitch about the pregnancy during the Wednesday, May 21, finale.

Chicago Fire, meanwhile, left fans with questions about Chief Dom Pascal’s (Dermot Mulroney) future at Firehouse 51 during the pre-finale episode. When it comes to the Wednesday conclusion, showrunner Andrea Newman told Us that Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will be caught in the middle of Pascal’s case as Pascal fights to prove he is not guilty of attempted murder.

One Chicago’s Most Heartbreaking Exits

Chicago P.D. fans will also be in for a complex and explosive conclusion during the season 12 finale, according to showrunner Gwen Sigan. (It will also show Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek’s wedding!)

“There are some dire straits when we catch up with [Intelligence] in the first scene of the last episode,” she revealed, revealing, “The fractures are really between the team and Voight.”

Scroll down for a breakdown of what viewers can expect from each One Chicago finale:

Dr. Charles’ Saga Continues

After Dr. Daniel Charles’ (Oliver Platt) mother died earlier this season, he was reunited with his two daughters, Robin (Mekia Cox) and Anna (Hannah Riley), at her funeral. According to the finale preview trailer, Charles’ daughter Anna ends up in the ED and it puts a strain on his family as a result.

“Dr. Charles through this season has been — he’s a really vivacious, gregarious guy, but he is also lonely. And that was one of the themes for everybody kind of this season, but especially Charles,” MacDonald exclusively told Us on Friday, May 16. “As great of a psychiatrist as he is, and as talented of a shrink that he is, he doesn’t necessarily do well confronting his own issues.”

Those issues will bubble to the surface during the Med finale. MacDonald explained that “the way to resolve” his guilt over not mending fences with his mom before her death is for Charles to work on his relationships with his daughters. “It was important to us to see the whole family unit together,” the showrunner said.

Frost Gets Into Hot Water

During the May 14 episode, Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) discovered that his young patient’s lung transplant was called off when a wealthy tech guru managed to jump the line and get his daughter the lungs amid her cancer battle. In the finale, Frost’s patient’s father will go off the rails after learning he might not survive without the lungs.

“Frost is going to be a big part in attempting to de-escalate,” MacDonald explained. “That story line is kind of about looking in the mirror and like really facing the truth.” The TV creator noted that ultimately the episode will come down to the kids, who both need the lungs.

MacDonald added, “Sometimes the sick kids have the clearest perspective of what’s going on and have something to teach their parents.”

‘Chicago Fire’

Severide’s on the Case — And Caught in the Middle

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago Fire
Peter Gordon/NBC

When fans last saw Chicago Fire, Pascal was taken in for interviews by the Office of Fire Investigation (OFI) after evidence pointed to him trying to kill the man that killed his wife, Monica (KaDee Strickland), in a car accident. Severide, meanwhile, was convinced of his innocence, which could get him into trouble with OFI.

“We’ve been calling that situation the ‘who’s your daddy situation’ for Severide because he’s got such daddy issues,” Newman exclusively told Us, noting that OFI leader Captain Tom Van Meter (Tim Hopper) was like a “father figure” to Severide before Pascal took over that territory.

According to the showrunner, Severide “wasn’t betraying Van Meter” by keeping his investigation into Pascal (on the hunt to prove his innocence) a secret. “Van Meter sees it as, ‘You didn’t come to me, you didn’t trust me,’” Newman explained. “So now [Severide’s] caught between these two kind of father figures that he cares about very deeply. But he is all in with Pascal and that’s gonna have consequences.”

One Chicago’s Most Memorable Couples

Violet and Carver’s Love Story Is in Jeopardy

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago Fire 2
Peter Gordon/NBC

Earlier this season, Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) wrote down her feelings for firefighter Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) in a letter but never sent it. Now that Violet is single again — she broke up with her boyfriend prior to the finale — Newman told Us, her letter could finally make its way to Carver.

“She’s been told that he is in a precarious place. He’s walking a tightrope right now where something could push him over and he’s backsliding and you know, off his recovery train [with alcohol],” the showrunner said, revealing that Violet has to be “really careful” that she’s “not pushing him in any way.”

That being said, Newman hinted that her feelings are “absolutely bubbling over” and that the finale could be the moment when that “bomb” goes off and she spills her true feelings.

‘Chicago P.D.’

The Team Is Ready to Fight

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago PD
Lori Allen/NBC

Chicago P.D.’s ongoing battle between Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy) came to a head during the May 14 episode. By episode’s end, Reid arrested Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) for sleeping with his CI and stripped Burgess (Marina Squerciati) of her badge for covering it up. He also disbanded the rest of Intelligence, leaving everyone to reconsider what’s next.

Voight, however, is “obviously not going to go down without a fight,” Sigan exclusively told Us, adding that everyone is “going off book” in the finale. She teased that viewers will be toying with the question of whether Voight has “really changed” and “evolved” as he does anything in his power to take down Reid and his dirty policing tactics.

“This really was meant to test him and put sort of this fun-house mirror that Reid represents up against him,” Sigan said. “Voight [is] trying to determine where to fight against his basic instincts in a way, and to listen to Chapman (Sara Bues) and to listen to the team.”

'Chicago P.D.' Showrunner Teases What to Expect When Season 12 Returns

The Burzek Wedding Gets Put on the Back Burner

One Chicago Finales What to Expect Chicago PD 2
Lori Allen/NBC

Sigan noted that the finale contains “really real” stakes for everyone on the team, including Burgess, who made detective shortly before Reid took away her badge. “This has been what she’s been wanting for a decade or more,” the showrunner explained. “And it’s been taken away from her in a moment. And she’s supposed to be happy, and she’s supposed to get married, and she’s supposed to have the best few weeks of her life.”

Instead of relaxing as a blissful bride-to-be, Sigan said Burgess is left asking, “Am I even gonna have a job?” She noted being a cop is a “huge” part of Burgess’ identity, which leaves her reeling prior to her wedding.

“It is a dark moment. I think they’re all wrestling with it,” Sigan added. “They’re wrestling with, ‘How far will we go to get to get it back and to take this guy down?’”

Chicago Med’s season 10 finale airs on NBC Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Chicago Fire season 13 finale at 9 p.m. ET. Chicago P.D.’s season 12 finale wraps up that same evening at 10 p.m. ET.

Holland Roden, Matthew Daddario to Star in Hallmark’s Buffalo Bills Movie

The NFL is teaming up with Hallmark for the second straight holiday season — but instead of highlighting a Kansas City Chiefs love story, the Buffalo Bills will instead get the rom-com treatment.

Hallmark announced in March that their “Countdown to Christmas” lineup for 2025 will include another football-focused film: Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. (Last year, fans saw Tyler Hynes and Hunter King bring the Chiefs fandom to life, kicking off the Holiday Touchdown franchise.)

A Bills Love Story comes on the heels of Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s engagement — which has drawn even more eyes to the NFL team.

When it comes to Hallmark’s newest NFL production, fans can expect love, football and a “touch of Christmas magic,” according to Hallmark Media senior vice president Samantha DiPippo.

Hallmark Teams Up With Buffalo Bills for New ‘Holiday Touchdown’ Movie

The cast is equally as thrilled to be part of the holiday franchise. “I am so excited to be a part of the starting lineup for Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story,” star Holland Roden said in a Hallmark video on Monday, May 19, confirming her casting.

The Teen Wolf alum wore a Bills shirt as she threw a football to her costar — and love interest — Matthew Daddario. “I am thrilled to introduce you to my handsome and talented teammate,” Roden said before throwing the ball to Daddario, who teased he’s “ready for kickoff.”

Roden and Daddario will play love interests in the upcoming rom-com. They will be joined by Tony Danza, Tracy Pollan, Caroline Aaron and Steve Schirripa.

Is ‘A Bills Love Story’ Inspired by Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s Romance?

While Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story made several nods to tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance in 2024, it is unknown whether Allen and Steinfeld’s relationship will be mentioned in A Bills Love Story. The characters, however, don’t seem to mirror Allen and Steinfeld. (Last year’s NFL Hallmark movie didn’t resemble Swift and Kelce’s relationship either, but there was a cameo from Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce.)

Fans, however, have been enthralled with Steinfeld and Allen since they began dating in 2023. The Bills quarterback proposed in November 2024, and two months later, a Buffalo billboard congratulated the pair on their engagement. “The Queen City has a new queen,” the billboard read. “Congratulations, Josh and Hailee.”

What Is ‘A Bills Love Story’ About?

Holland Roden Matthew Daddario to Star in Hallmark s A Bills Love Story
Hallmark Channel/YouTube

The movie focuses on the Quinns and DeLucas, neighbors and proud Bills Mafia members, who celebrate the last home game before Christmas side by side. “Pediatric doctor Morgan Quinn (Roden) and the Bills’ VP of Stadium Development Gabe DeLuca (Daddario) have always been close friends, but Gabe has always held a torch for her — a fact obvious to their families (Pollan, Aaron, Schirripa) and everyone else who crosses their path,” the logline reads. “When Morgan learns from her Uncle Tommy (Danza) that someone anonymously helped her family get by after he was drafted more than 60 years ago — and that he continues to receive a Christmas gift each year to this day — she decides to find his benefactor and give her uncle a Christmas he’ll always remember.”

Morgan and Gabe work together to “unwrap the gifter’s identity” and along the way develop feelings for one another. When Morgan’s “hopes of pulling off her surprise for Uncle Tommy get sacked,” Gabe “takes matters into his own hands and uses his connections with the Bills to pull off the surprise of a lifetime for Morgan and both their families that will make this a Christmas they’ll never forget,” according to Hallmark.

Holiday Movies Inspired by Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's Romance Compared

Which NFL Players Will Make Cameos?

Bills head coach Sean McDermott, running back Ray Davis, safety Damar Hamlin, offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, tight end Dawson Knox, long snapper Reid Ferguson, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter and wide receiver Joshua Palmer will all be part of the movie.

Former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly will make a cameo as will retired players Steve Tasker, Thurman Thomas and Scott Norwood. The network confirmed in May that Bills play-by-play announcer Chris Brown will make an appearance and Luke Russert will pay tribute to his late broadcast journalist father Tim Russert.

Has Production Begun?

Hallmark announced in May that production was underway in Buffalo, New York. The movie will film in several “iconic locations” in the region, per the network, including Highmark Stadium and Oishei Children’s Hospital.

‘Polyfamily' Preview: Tyler Boasts to Alysia About Licking Paint Off Taya

Polyfamily star Tyler isn’t shy about his and girlfriend Taya’s sex life — but that doesn’t mean his wife, Alysia, wants to hear about it.

In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Tuesday, May 20, episode of the TLC series, Tyler recounts his and Taya’s intimate night away from the house to his wife and Taya’s husband, Sean, but it doesn’t go over well.

“Once we got settled in, I was having fun,” Tyler tells the group while standing beside Alysia, who was home with Sean and their combined five kids. “We also had, like, this edible body paint and stuff I licked off of her arm and painted under the stencil.”

Sean appears to be unfazed by the couple’s bedroom activities, replying, “Sexy. Hot!” Taya, meanwhile, downplays just how sexy it was saying, “It was straight-up syrup.”

While Tyler explains that it is “hard to get back to being intimate” after Taya recently gave birth, Alysia doesn’t want to hear it.

“OK, yeah, I’m out. I don’t want to talk about that,” Alysia says, making an unamused face. Sean, who was also stuck at home with the kids, claims it “doesn’t bother” him, pointing out it was an “overnight trip at the beach,” after all.

Alysia quips, “I would assume too. But I don’t want to know the details of it.” Tyler tries to backpedal, noting, “I said intimate. Not naked.” Alysia fires back, “Do you get intimate with your clothes on?”

TLC’s ‘Polyfamily’: Get to Know the Couples

“Can I ask why you thought it would be OK to talk about the intimate details, like, the sex part of your guys’ overnight date when I’ve made it really, really clear that that’s not something that I care to hear about?” Alysia asks Tyler during a separate interview.

Tyler insists he “wasn’t talking about the sex” and was instead discussing his and Taya’s “intimacy and what we’re doing and activities and things.”

TLC Announces New ‘Polyfamily’ Series About ‘Closed Quad’ Family: 1st Look

Alysia is still visibly upset, saying that him talking about their fun with edible body paint was too much for her to stomach.

“I’m used to talking pretty openly with Sean and Taya and about whatever,” Tyler admits. “And sometimes it’s hard to remember to censor myself in those situations with you.”

‘Polyfamily’ Sneak Peek: 2 Women in Quad Have a ‘Complicated’ Relationship

When Polyfamily premiered last month, fans were introduced to the closed polyamorous quad made up of married couples Tyler and Alysia and Sean and Taya. In their unit, Tyler is also dating Taya, while Sean is dating Alysia.

Tyler and Alysia were married 11 years and welcomed a son and daughter before joining the closed quad. Sean and Taya, meanwhile, were married six years before entering their current arrangement.

Since creating a new family, the four adults have welcomed three more kids, the youngest of which’s birth has been a big story line this season.

Polyfamily airs on TLC Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

Sister Wives' Kody Digs Garrison’s Grave at Funeral in Gut-Wrenching Episode

Kody Brown took a hands-on approach to burying his son Garrison Brown on the latest episode of Sister Wives following Garrison’s death in March 2024.

“I talked to the sexton of the cemetery and he’s the one that would normally dig the graves,” Kody, 56, explained during the Sunday, May 18, episode of the TLC series. “And I just asked him permission if I could dig it. It means something to me. I don’t know why.”

Kody noted that it was “deeply emotional” for him to be able to bring Garrison’s ashes to his family’s home state of Wyoming and dig the actual grave they would go in.

“This is like an old west country cemetery. And I’m going to dig the grave,” Kody shared, adding that his brother and his brother-in-law were going to help.

Sister Wives’ Kody Wanted More Time With Son Garrison, Recalls His Death

As the men mapped out how to dig the grave, Kody reflected on his pilgrimage to bring Garrison to his final resting place. (Garrison died by suicide in 2024 at the age of 25.)

“I’ve never done anything like this, digging a grave. And I think this is one of the most important things I’ve ever done,” Kody told the cameras while tears built in his eyes. “It’s the last ode to my boy. … This is my duty, my job.”

Once the task was finished, an emotional Kody pulled out three chairs and sat next to the burial site and enjoyed the sunset. The next day, Kody’s family joined him for a funeral. Garrison’s mom, Janelle Brown, and her and Kody’s five other children were all in attendance.

While Kody and Janelle, 55, split in December 2022, she said the moment that she passed her son’s ashes to Kody to put in the grave they were “just parents” mourning their child.

Their extended plural family, including Kody’s other ex-wives, Meri Brown and Christine Brown, as well as his current wife, Robyn Brown, were also there for support.

Their combined 17 children were there to share final stories of Garrison before his urn — which was carved to look like a Viking ship by Aspyn Brown’s husband, Mitch Thompson — was covered up with dirt.

Prior to the burial, the officiant of the service asked everyone to take off their shoes and stand barefoot on the ground to “feel connected to the earth” and the ground that Garrison was about to be placed under.

“The theme about taking off the shoes, it’s not a Mormon thing. It’s not a fundamentalist Mormon thing,” Kody said during a confessional. “This funeral is not cookie cutter by any means. And that would be how Garrison would have it.”

Sister Wives’ Kody Has ‘Anxiety Attack’ Over Never Seeing Garrison Again

The unconventional service also included the officiant — who was a relative — wearing a Hawaiian shirt as a nod to Garrison’s love of the wardrobe staple. His brothers also paid tribute to him in a very non-traditional way.

Paedon Brown, who is Christine and Kody’s son, put his dog tags on Garrison’s grave before “pouring one out” for his late brother, and spilling beer on the urn.

“I have his tags, so I gave him my tags and his tags will hang on me forever,” Paedon, 26, explained, referring to both his and Garrison’s military service. “And I made sure to hang mine on the boat so that mine will hang with him forever. I felt really, really right to give him the military aspects that I will now have forever.”

Hunter Brown, who is one of Kody and Janelle’s sons, shared a few words before adding something to the grave.

“Garrison was my playmate he was my bunkmate for all of my life. He was my arch nemesis and my best friend and beloved brother,” Hunter, 28, said with a laugh. “Garrison was my first commissioned officer, and this was my hat that I got my first salute from Garrison in.”

'Sister Wives' Siblings Remember Their 'Beautiful Brother' Garrison Brown

Kody, for his part, told the family about a dream he’d had where Garrison was sitting on his bed and “wasn’t sad” about dying.

“I said, ‘Why you gone boy?’ He said, ‘I’m not, [it] ain’t that bad here,’” Kody recalled, laughing at the fact that in the dream Garrison asked him to “stop listening to sad music.” The patriarch noted that Garrison told him he was “OK” and that was something he thought they all needed to hear.

Alan Jackson and Wife Denise's Relationship Timeline: 45 Years and Counting

Alan Jackson is one of the biggest names in country music and his wife, Denise Jackson, has been along for the ride since day one.

The couple met in their hometown of Newnan, Georgia, as teenagers. After tying the knot in 1979, the high school sweethearts made their way to Nashville in the ‘80s.

After nearly five decades of marriage — which included health issues for both Alan and Denise and a brief separation in the 90s — the pair continue to lean on each other.

“We get up in the morning and drink coffee together and talk, and I can’t go to bed at night if she’s downstairs watching television. We go to bed together, unless I’m out of town,” Alan told The Boot in December 2022. “It’s just little things I think that have helped us more than anything. If you can last until you’re 40 years old, hopefully, you’ll be mature enough to figure out the rest of the years.”

Celebrity Couples Who Have Been Together for 50 Years (Or Longer!)

While accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 ACM Awards, Alan praised Denise as his “best friend,” saying, “I wouldn’t be here without her. So there’s not much else I can say that’s better than that.”

After high school, the couple wed in December 1979, where Alan sang to his bride.

1985

While working as a flight attendant, Denise met singer Glen Campbell in the early 1980s and talked to him about Alan, who was the lead singer of the band Dixie Steel in Georgia.

“He said, ‘Just put together a demo tape and go see Marty [Gamblin] at my office and see if he can help him,’” Denise recalled of the conversation in 2018’s Alan Jackson: Small Town Southern Man TV movie. “That was our first connection.”

After recording his demo, Alan received a songwriting contract with Campbell’s company and the couple relocated to Nashville in 1985.

It wasn’t until four years later that Alan signed his first record deal with Arista Records.

Alan and Denise’s youngest daughter, Dani, was born in August 1997.

April 1998

After Christmas in 1997, the pair separated for four months before giving their marriage another shot in 1998.

“I think Alan got to a point after 18 years where he thought, ‘We both deserve so much more than this, and we haven’t been able to fix it yet, and I don’t think it’s fixable,'” Denise recalled to the Christian Broadcasting Network. “So that was really the turning point where he said, ‘Enough is enough. I’m leaving.'”

During their time apart, Denise learned about Alan’s infidelity, but they chose to work through it together. “There’s no one-size-fits-all kind of answer for forgiveness,” she said during the TV appearance. “For each of us, the struggle will be individual. But what I found in the long run, was that forgiveness was the key to real freedom in my life.”

Alan wrote “Remember When” about his and Denise’s love story, which he released in October 2023. “Remember when / Thirty seemed so old / Now looking back, it’s just a stepping stone,” Alan sings in one verse. “To where we are, where we’ve been / Said we’d do it all again / Remember when.”

The track has since become one of Alan’s most iconic and beloved songs. It hit No. 1 on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs chart and went four-times platinum. Denise and Alan were featured slow dancing in the corresponding music video.

Denise recalled some of the harder times in her marriage in her 2007’s book, It’s All About Him: Finding the Love of My Life, in which the “him” refers to God and letting the lord take the wheel.

“Alan has such a strong personality, and the more his career grew, the more insecure I felt, and the more I absorbed myself into his world,” Denise told Today in July 2007, reflecting on their relationship highs and lows. “My dreams became his dreams, and it was all about him and his goals, and I kind of lost myself.”

Denise wrote in her book that she had to stop trying to win Alan back (during their brief separation) and instead leave it up to God. She also learned to forgive. Alan, for his part, wrote the forward for the book.

Denise was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2010 and underwent radiation and chemotherapy. She was declared cancer-free after two months of treatment.

Alan later told Coping magazine that his wife’s health scare reminded him “how important it is to have someone there to walk with you through something like this. It was the first time I felt like I was living out the phrase in our wedding vows ‘for better or for worse.’”

That same spring, Denise was on hand to see Alan receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The country singer revealed in fall 2021 that he’d been suffering from a degenerative nerve condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease for the past 10 years, which affected his ability to walk and perform on stage.

“I’ve been reluctant to talk about this publicly and to my fans, but it’s been a while, and it’s starting to affect my performance on stage a little bit where I don’t feel comfortable,” Alan said on the Today show at the time. “I just wanted the fans and the public to know if they’ve come to see me in the last few years or if they come to see me in the future if I play anymore, what’s going on.”

He noted that the condition was passed down from his father and wasn’t fatal but would “disable” him as it progressed. “I’ve had a wonderful, beautiful life, and I’ve been so blessed. I can’t even imagine what other people go through,” Alan added. “This is not a condition that I would be complaining about typically, but it is going to affect me performance-wise on stage, and I don’t know how much I’ll continue to tour.”

Podcaster Calls for 'Trigger Warning' After Cassie's Violent Testimony

Podcaster Amanda de Cadenet stands in solidarity with Cassie after she was allegedly abused by Sean “Diddy” Combs for years — but she takes issue with how graphic the testimony has been amid his sex trafficking trial.

“Love and compassion for Cassie and is a #TriggerWarning too much to ask for? #cassie #abuse,” de Cadenet captioned an Instagram video on Friday, May 16.

The celebrity interviewer then weighed in on Cassie’s days-long testimony against Diddy, 55, as his federal trial in New York City continues to make headlines. (Diddy was indicted in 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, all of which he’s denied.)

“Over the last few days, every single time I’ve gone online to look at anything, I have been inundated in my news feed with extremely graphic details of the horrendous abuse that Cassie suffered at the hands of Sean Combs,” de Cadenet began her video, referring to Cassie, 38, taking the stand against her ex-boyfriend to recount the alleged violence she experienced during their on-off relationship from 2007 to 2018.

Cassie Gives Emotional Testimony About Diddy Allegedly Raping Her

De Cadenet, who hosts “The Conversation” podcast, pointed out that Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) is eight months pregnant while having to relive these alleged atrocities in the public eye. (Cassie is expecting her third baby with husband Alex Fine.)

“She is testifying on the stand the most graphic, violent, horrendous details of the abuse that was afflicted upon her,” de Cadenet told her followers, noting that Cassie must be “retraumatized” and “reexperiencing all of these horrendous things” every minute she’s in the courthouse.

The Girlgaze founder then revealed why Cassie’s testimony has been even harder to stomach, noting she had a similar experience in a past relationship. “I really wish that the media would issue a trigger warning before sharing such graphic details because I know I’m disturbed by reading everything,” de Cadenet explained.

She said her “heart just goes out” to Cassie for “what she dealt with for so many years,” applauding the singer for the “courage” it takes to speak her truth so publicly.

De Cadenet then shifted to the haters, revealing that she’d seen “reports of people asking, like, why didn’t she leave?” after Diddy allegedly mistreated her for years. She called that way of thinking an “old trope” that isn’t as simple to execute if you’re in an abusive relationship.

“As someone who was in a relationship with someone for many years who was violent, not sexually violent, but violent nonetheless, we all know how difficult it is to leave,” de Cadenet shared. She added that many times the victim’s “self-esteem” is in a place where they think “that’s all you deserve” and can’t get out because of it.

Cassie Hid in Hotel Room for 1 Week to Protect Mom From Truth About Diddy

De Cadenet noted that’s a “bigger issue” in itself, adding that when she heard that Cassie “felt she had to do that in order to have the attention of this man” she “completely understood why she felt like that.”

The podcast host identified Cassie and Diddy’s situation as an “abuse of power” and skewed “power dynamic.” De Cadenet concluded, “It’s breaking my heart to see and to hear what this gorgeous, talented young woman put herself through for so many years.”

Cassie met Diddy in 2005 when she was 19 and signed a record deal with his label, Bad Boy Records. Two years later, their relationship turned romantic after Diddy allegedly kissed her on her 21st birthday.

Cassie claimed during the first day of her testimony earlier this week that shortly after her birthday she traveled to Miami with Diddy. While there, the pair partied on a boat and Diddy allegedly gave her a “blue dolphin” ecstasy pill and they had sex for the first time.

Cassie Addresses Claim That Diddy Dangled a Woman Over Balcony in Testimony

Diddy and Cassie dated on and off from 2007 to 2018. Once she was out of the relationship, Cassie filed a lawsuit in November 2023 against Diddy, claiming he abused her and raped her during their relationship. Diddy denied the allegations and his attorney told Us Weekly in a statement, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”

Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit out of court one day after she filed. She revealed during her testimony on Wednesday, May 14, that the settlement was for $20 million.

The following year, Cassie and Diddy’s violent relationship made headlines when CNN published a hotel surveillance video in May 2024 showing Diddy kicking and grabbing Cassie in 2016. Diddy later issued a public apology.

Cassie ‘Feels Like She Isn’t Alone’ as Accusations Against Diddy Surface

In September 2024, Diddy was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all the allegations against him.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Cassie has been a star witness for the prosecution during the first week of testimony in the case. She has detailed the alleged “freak offs” she engaged in, which she said became a “job” for her. Cassie recalled Diddy allegedly physically assaulting her in front of the escorts she hired to perform with her at Diddy’s request.

Cassie Comes Face to Face With Diddy in Courthouse Sketches From Trial

She testified on Wednesday that after she went to dinner with Diddy in 2018, when she was already dating Fine, 32, Diddy brought her home and allegedly “raped me in my living room.” Cassie told the jury, “I just remember crying and saying no, but it was very fast.”

Following her final day of testimony, Cassie’s attorney Douglas Wigdor read a statement on her behalf outside of the courthouse.

“This week has been extremely challenging but also remarkably empowering and healing for me,” the statement read on Friday. “I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear.”

Cassie’s statement concluded: “For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget.”

Kellie Pickler Called 'Callous' By In-Laws After Husband's Death, Legal Drama

Kellie Pickler’s legal battle with her in-laws, Sharon Jacobs and Reed Jacobs, is continuing to escalate after the death of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in 2023.

Following Kyle’s death, his parents were appointed as administrators of his estate after Pickler, 36, chose not to take on the role. Sharon and Reed have since been in a contentious battle with the singer over Kyle’s property. (Kyle died in February 2023 by suicide at age 49.)

“It is difficult to know how to respond once again to the latest vitriol in [Kellie’s court filing],” Sharon and Reed’s attorney wrote in their latest court filing, which was submitted on Monday, May 12, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.

The lawyer noted that Sharon and Reed are “the proud parents of a son who grew into a highly successful, talent … songwriter … who tragically took his life at a young age,” claiming that his widow has made it difficult to get anything done since his passing.

Breaking Down Kellie Pickler's Court Battle With Late Husband's Parents

After the Jacobs filed a petition in August 2024 asking the court to intervene in their attempts to get the rest of Kyle’s property from Pickler, the musician claimed there was a “dispute” over the property in question.

In response, Sharon and Reed’s attorney defended their desire to proceed in an efficient manner, writing in the Monday court filing, “To suggest that his parents’ actions here could be perceived as anything other than an effort to bring his sad chapter (the probate process) to a speedy close is shockingly callous and lacking in empathy.”

Kyle’s parents’ lawyer asked the court to take note of Pickler’s “continued invective in suggesting that [Reed and Sharon] (or any parent of a deceased child) would utilize the judicial process in such a way that serves only to prolong their suffering and anguish.”

Daniel Zuchnik/WireImage

The attorney claimed, “[Kellie] has taken what should have been a simple matter and turned it into a highly personal crucible, painting herself as the tragic victim.”

Reed and Sharon’s legal struggles with Pickler began in May 2023 after she provided them with inventory of Kyle’s property but then allegedly stopped cooperating.

“Over the course of the ensuing twelve months, [Reed and Sharon] attempted informally to recover those items through discussions with [Kellie] and her counsel; those efforts; however, had limited success,” their lawyer explained in the new docs.

Kellie Pickler and Husband Kyle Jacobs’ Relationship Timeline

His parents alleged that Pickler “agreed to turn over several items but had not done so. In addition, as to at least some of the items, [Kellie] admitted having them but subsequently maintained she could not find them.”

Reed and Sharon later accused Pickler of not allowing them to enter the home she shared with their son prior to his death. They noted that Pickler did let them in once shortly after his death but has since forbidden them from coming on the premises. (Pickler was married to Kyle from 2011 until his death.)

“Instead, on two subsequent occasions, [Kellie] insisted she would have items of personal property moved to the home’s garage, for subsequent pickup by [Reed and Sharon] under supervision arranged by [Kellie],” their attorney claimed. “On the first such occasion, [Kellie] forbade [Sharon] from being on the property.”

Legal Expert Explains Kellie Pickler's Court Battle With Her In-Laws

Sharon and Reed explained that Pickler delivered additional items following the subpoena to do so but claimed they have since reached an “impasse” while attempting to get all of Kyle’s belongings.

Pickler, for her part, sold the home where she and Kyle lived in May 2024 for $2.3 million. The singer also recently asked the court to have Reed and Sharon removed as administrators of Kyle’s estate.

Pickler then asked the court to be named the sole heir and beneficiary of Kyle’s estate, while Reed and Sharon have argued they should remain as administrators. The court has yet to rule on the case.

Us Weekly has reached out to Pickler for comment on the latest accusations from Sharon and Reed.

One Chicago’s Most Memorable Couples

Romances have run high in the Windy City since Chicago Fire’s 2012 debut and the addition of Chicago P.D. in 2014 and Chicago Med in 2015.

Whether you spent years pining over Casey and Dawson and were heartbroken when they divorced, or you counted down to Natalie and Will’s wedding only to be heartbroken by her bloody dress, even the fan-favorite relationships are definitely rocky! (Proof: The two couples just mentioned actually hooked up after those events!)

Some couples definitely work better than others — something the creative teams are well aware of. “That’s how they are in real life. They’re hilarious together in a way that they’re not with other people. They just have this magic,” Chicago Fire cocreator Derek Haas told Us Weekly in 2019 when referring to Taylor Kinney and Miranda Rae Mayo, who portray couple Severide and Stella.

Despite each going through multiple messy relationships and first connecting when he was engaged to someone else, fans have been rooting for Burzek for a long time. The duo dated and quickly got engaged, but later she called it off since he couldn't commit.
In season 8, they began hooking up again and she got pregnant, but they suffered a pregnancy loss. Beginning in season 9, the duo started coparenting Burgess’ adopted daughter, Makayla. During season 10, which aired in spring 2023, the pair once again hooked up and confessed that it felt “different” this time. Ruzek proposed for a third time in season 11 and Burgess said “yes.”

While the pair were up and down for multiple seasons, he finally came to his senses during season 7; in the finale, he told her he was done messing up and it was time to be the boyfriend she deserved. The twosome got engaged during season 9 and despite some wedding day setbacks, they tied the knot on the season 10 finale in May 2022.

After leaning on each other following Gabby’s (Monica Raymund) departure, Captain Casey finally started dating paramedic Brett during season 9 of Chicago Fire. The pair began a long-distance romance after Casey moved to Oregon to help raise a former firefighter friend’s two sons. The duo’s relationship consisted mainly of phone calls during season 10 after Jesse Spencer’s (who plays Casey) October 2021 exit from the series.
The couple reunited during the season 10 finale in May 2022 but decided to stop dating long distance following Stella and Severide’s wedding. However, when Casey returned during the season 11 finale to help thwart an attack on the Windy City, he realized how much Brett meant to him — and proposed during the final few seconds of the May 2023 episode. The twosome tied the knot during season 12 in 2024, marking Kara Killmer’s departure from the show.

Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) and Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) sparked a flirtation from the moment he joined the ED during season 9 of Chicago Med. However, their budding romance hit a snag during the season 9 finale after Mitch was accused of attacking Pawel (Kristof Konrad) in retaliation for a suspicious lawsuit that was filed against him. (He was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.)
Throughout season 10, Hannah and Mitch’s relationship ebbed and flowed, especially after he began partying to cope with his childhood best friend Sully (Daniel Dorr) dying from cancer.
When Mitch nearly died saving a woman and her daughter who were trapped in a hole, Hannah arrived at the scene just in time to tell her she loved him. Even with the confession, the pair chose to take a step back from their romance. Hannah, however, learned at the end of season 10 that she is pregnant — and it is Mitch’s baby.

Paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) began casually seeing firefighter Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) during season 12 of Chicago Fire. In the finale, Carver was deeply affected by a call and decided to take a break from his duties — and didn’t tell Violet. She realized that she had feelings for him but kept him at arm’s length.
Carver and Violet were on rocky ground when season 13 began, but after he went to rehab for alcohol, they found their way back together. Ahead of the season finale, Violet admitted to being in love with Carver but had yet to tell him her feelings.

(DeVitto, for her part, announced her official exit from the series in May 2021 at the end of season 6.)
When Will (Nick Gehlfuss) chose to turn in his lab coat during the season 8 finale, fans thought Manstead would never reunite. However, during the final moments of the May 2023 episode, Will landed in Seattle and reconnected with Natalie, serving as the perfect ending to their love story. The actor confirmed his exit from the show that same day after eight seasons.

The twosome's romance was tested during season 10 after Halstead revealed he was going to South America — following Jesse Lee Soffer's exit from the series in fall 2022 — for a minimum of eight weeks to fight against the drug cartels.
During season 11, Upton revealed she signed divorce papers after Halstead’s prolonged absence. The breakup didn’t come as a major surprise to fans after news broke in October 2023 that Tracy Spiridakos is leaving the show after season 11.

Speaking of life before Casey, for quite some time, Dawson was a bit caught up on Peter Mills. While we knew they weren't endgame, the sparks were definitely real.

This was tough for Burzek fans to handle, knowing that that was probably where he'd end up but Upton and Ruzek were there for each other when they both needed it.

Chrissy Teigen’s Sobriety Journey in Her Own Words

Chrissy Teigen has been vocal about her ups and downs while dealing with her sobriety, beginning in 2017 when she first cut out alcohol — and again in 2020 when she recommitted to being sober.

Teigen told Cosmopolitan in August 2017 that she was “point blank, just drinking too much” when she chose to ditch alcohol.

“Nobody really brought it up to me,” she said at the time, noting that she has a history of alcohol abuse in her family. “They just assumed that it was OK because I always felt OK the next morning [after drinking a lot]. I knew in my heart it wasn’t right.”

In the years that followed, Teigen started to drink again, but after receiving a book on her 35th birthday in November 2020 titled Quit Like a Woman, she recommitted to a sober life. In May 2025, Teigen confirmed she’d had a relapse with alcohol.

“I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine,” Teigen told Cosmopolitan in August 2017, noting that she needed to reduce her alcohol intake. “Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected.”
The model explained that she made the choice herself, revealing there is a history of alcohol abuse in her family. “I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober,” she said. “But now I get it. I don’t want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.”

The Chrissy’s Court star revealed in December 2020 that she was again sober. After sharing a goofy video of herself dancing in a swimsuit via Instagram, one fan jokingly commented, “I need whatever drugs you’re on!!” Teigen replied, “4 weeks sober,” alongside a string of heart emojis and praying hands emojis.

The mother of two credited writer Holly Whitaker’s book, Quit Like a Woman, for inspiring her to make a change in her life. She noted via her Instagram Story in December 2020 that she received the book on her 35th birthday one month prior, which is when everything clicked.
“I got this book from my doctor and friend,” she wrote. “I was done with making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like s--t by 6, not being able to sleep.”
Teigen continued: “I have been sober ever since. And even if you can’t see yourself doing or just plain don’t want to, it’s still an incredible read.”

Teigen revealed in February 2021 that the September 2020 loss of her son Jack following pregnancy complications brought clarity to other aspects of her life.
“Being Thai and being raised in a house that was very open about loss, I think it was really helpful because … it was a transformative thing for me,” the Cravings author told Ellen DeGeneres at the time. “In a way, [my late son, Jack], really saved me. I don’t think I would have discovered therapy and then sobriety and this path of really feeling good about myself and feeling like a new person.”

The Lip Sync Battle commentator detailed her first “sober trip” to Italy in August 2021. “We haven’t done something like this for soooo long, it made us feel young again!” she wrote via Instagram after the whirlwind getaway before thanking Unicef Italia and Luisaviaroma for having her and Legend and giving Zuhair Murad, Lorraine Schwartz and Jimmy Choo a shout-out for styling her for the event.
“But really thanks for making me feel so pretty and helping me along in my quest to have my first sober Italian getaway,” Teigen continued. “I hate the word sober by the way, it’s so rehab/medical. Anyhow, honestly it was so so trippy being sober at something you typically would have been wasted at. That paired with all the crazy hot young models and club dudes and seeing your young self over and over, oh man it was crazy.”
She concluded: “We had so much fun. I didn’t do anything I’d regret and I’m glad I’ll get to remember it all!!”

“Today is my 50-day sobriety streak,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2021. “It should be nearly a year but I had a few (wine) hiccups in the road. This is my longest streak yet!”

The cookbook author celebrated 100 days of sobriety in October 2021 after she was called out for her past bullying behavior earlier that year.
"You learn so much in the moments where you do lose so much. Your world is kinda turned upside down,” she said on the Today show at the time, noting the cyberbullying controversy made her reevaluate everything in her life. "For me it was a big moment of like, 'Wow, I need to find out how I can be better, how I can grow from this, learn from this. There's that old cliché of 'I'm glad it happened,' but truly it made me a stronger person. A better person.”
The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model recalled getting sober shortly after the scandal made headlines. “I went clean — I'm actually 100 days sober today and I'm, like, so excited, yeah. I feel so good. I feel clearheaded,” she continued. "I feel like I've done the work, and I hope these people can forgive and be able to welcome the fact that hopefully they've seen me be better.”

“The first time I have ever been able to enjoy everyone enjoying dinner!!” Teigen wrote via Instagram in November 2021 alongside photos of her family’s Thanksgiving feast. “I didn’t even make any crucial recipe errors this year! toot toot goes the horn! anyhoo hope you had a beautiful holiday. grateful for you and your love 💗.”

“6 months no alcohol! Honestly kind of sucks saying it because even though I don’t ever crave it now, time has not exactly flown by haha,” Teigen revealed in a January 2022 Instagram post. “I prob won’t be excited til a larger milestone like at leasssst [sic] 5 years, and sometimes I don’t even know if I necessarily won’t ever drink again? I have no idea what I’m doing honestly, but I do know a few things: I now have endless energy, way less anxiety (no more benzos!) and I am *happier* and more present than ever. It’s pretty cool. I look forward to having my full body reset after 1 year, then reevaluating to see my new hopes and wishes for the future!”

“Not a drop of alcohol in 365 days! I miss feeling loopy and carefree sometimes, but to be honest toward the end, it didn’t give that fun feeling anymore anyhow,” the cookbook author wrote via Instagram in July 2022. “I drank to end crazy anxiety that later mostly went away when I — get this — quit drinking! Sigh. Anyhow I feel really good.” She noted that “sometimes I get really frustrated looking back on days I should remember way better than I do because of alcohol.” Teigen playfully recalled, “Like when I drank cafe patron and fell asleep while an Outback Steakhouse chef taught me (my friends) how to make a bloomin onion at my house. I wish I was awake for that. Wish I remembered really any awards show lol.” The model continued: “There are pictures from huge moments in life where my eyes just look … gone. Some are from real work shoots, some just beach days with the family. While I honestly STILL don’t know if I’ll never have a drink again, I do know I never want to be that way again. And for now, none is best. I’ll let the bad dreams come up and try to sort them out in therapy, without booze. Prayers for a blooming onion redo, @outback?? ❤️.”

“[I] have to admit to all of you: I let it back into my life,” Teigen confessed via Instagram in May 2025, revealing she’d started drinking again.
She explained, “The truth is, I don’t know what I’m doing. I one hundred percent know I like me better sober. I one hundred percent know I get more done, I absolutely feel better in my body without it. And I am one hundred percent pissed that I can’t be normal and have a cocktail with my husband on vacay without it turning into 8 and feeling like s***.”
Teigen admitted, “I’m tired of throwing up on a Tuesday. I don’t wanna feel like I need a shot to talk to a crowd. I hate that the thought of maybe having a drink can consume me some days.”
She noted that her “plan” now was to “continue to be mindful with it” and remind herself she can have fun sober. “I still know my relationship with alcohol just isn’t normal and never will be,” Teigen added.
The mother of four concluded, “Thank you for allowing me to figure it out openly in front of you all. Anyhow. This is for all the people who are figuring it out. And to the sober community, God I am still so, so proud of you. Until we meet again.”

Chrissy Teigen Reveals She’s Drinking Again: ‘I Don’t Know What I’m Doing’

After cutting alcohol out of her life in 2017 and again in 2020, Chrissy Teigen had a relapse.

Teigen, 39, opened up about her recent setback while explaining how her latest podcast guest author Holly Whitaker “changed” her “perspective” and how she views the “f***ing beast that is alcohol.”

The Cravings author confessed via Instagram on Thursday, May 15, “[I] have to admit to all of you: I let it back into my life,” referring to alcohol.

Teigen explained that to “let a lot of you down, oh I feel it deeply,” noting, “I was so proud every time one of you told me on the street that Holly and I made you want to rethink drinking, reframe drinking. I still am.”

Teigen further confessed, “I’m tired of throwing up on a Tuesday. I don’t wanna feel like I need a shot to talk to a crowd. I hate that the thought of maybe having a drink can consume me some days.”

While the model revealed that she totally agrees that she should just “stop” drinking, she said it’s not that simple.

“All I know is my relationship with the whole process of sobriety (and messing up) has changed for the better. I am deeply aware of where this can go if I let it,” Teigen continued. “I guess my plan right now is to continue to be mindful with it.”

She reminded herself and her followers, “I can go to a concert sober and have the greatest time ever. I can avoid absinthe at the Ren Faire and be so abbbbsolutely [sic] full of joy. Photos of my kid’s birthday parties are no longer me with bleary, sleepy drinking eyes. And I am proud of that.”

Even with all the positives that come for Teigen when she’s sober, she explained that her “relationship with alcohol just isn’t normal and never will be.”

She concluded, “Thank you for allowing me to figure it out openly in front of you all. Anyhow. This is for all the people who are figuring it out. And to the sober community, God I am still so, so proud of you. Until we meet again.”

Teigen first spoke about her highs and lows with drinking in 2017, telling Cosmopolitan, “I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected.”

It was then that she chose to ditch alcohol and work on herself. Teigen, who has a history of alcohol abuse in her family, recommitted herself to being sober in 2020. She declared that December that she was “4 weeks sober” by sharing a goofy Instagram video of herself dancing in a bathing suit.

Teigen celebrated one year of being sober in July 2022, announcing via Instagram, “Not a drop of alcohol in 365 days! I miss feeling loopy and carefree sometimes, but to be honest toward the end, it didn’t give that fun feeling anymore anyhow.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar is officially passing the stake to Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new vampire slayer for the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.

Cassie Addresses Michael B. Jordan Romance During Diddy Trial

Cassie’s ex-boyfriend Michael B. Jordan was mentioned in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial on Thursday, May 15.

Cassie, 38, spoke about her past romances with both Jordan, 38, and Kid Cudi during cross-examination on Thursday, agreeing with the defense lawyer’s claim that Diddy, 55, was “irate” over her brief romance with Cudi, now 41.

Defense attorney Anna Estevao then hinted that Diddy’s jealousy over Cassie’s other relationships wasn’t rare — and that she was also jealous of the rapper at times, which Cassie admitted was true.

Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) then recalled sparking a relationship with Jordan in 2015. The romance began after Cassie discovered that Diddy was allegedly spending time with one of his on-off girlfriends while she was filming a movie in South Africa.

Cassie Gives Emotional Testimony About Diddy Allegedly Raping Her

As a result, Cassie cut off communication with the music mogul for some time and moved on with the Black Panther actor. When asked how Diddy reacted to her relationship with Jordan, Cassie told the court she didn’t know because she wasn’t there to witness it.

Cassie, however, did reveal that she was “really hurt” when Diddy was seeing someone else while she was on location. She also told the jury that one of Diddy’s staff members informed her that the musician knew about her relationship with Jordan.

The defense attorney, meanwhile, didn’t expand on Cassie’s connection to Jordan and moved on with her line of questioning.

Cassie Claims Diddy Gave Her 'Blue Dolphin' Ecstasy 1st Time They Had Sex

Cassie dated Diddy on and off from 2007 to 2018, during which time she claimed the rapper was violent toward her and controlling. Once out of the relationship, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, alleging that the was abusive and had raped her in the past.

Cassie’s relationship with Jordan was referenced in the lawsuit as was her romance with Cudi. (She alleged in the lawsuit that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi’s car, which his rep corroborated.)

Diddy denied all of Cassie’s allegations at the time, with his attorney telling Us in a statement, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.” Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit out of court one day after it was filed. (She revealed during her testimony on Wednesday, May 14, that the settlement was for $20 million.)

Every Celebrity Mentioned During the Diddy Trial: Kanye West and More

Cassie’s relationship with Diddy made headlines again in May 2024 when CNN published a hotel surveillance video of Diddy kicking and grabbing Cassie in 2016. Diddy later issued a public apology for his actions.

Later that year, Diddy was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all the allegations against him.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement in September 2024.

Cassie Recalls Diddy's Alleged Threats to ‘Hurt’ Her and Boyfriend Kid Cudi

After being denied bail four times, Diddy’s federal trial began last week with jury selection and is expected to last through early July.

Cassie has been a star witness for the prosecution, initially taking the stand to testify against Diddy on Tuesday, May 13. She recounted the start of their relationship, which began with her signing a 10-album deal with Diddy’s label, Bad Boy Records, in 2005.

Two years later, when Cassie turned 21, she claimed Diddy kissed her at her birthday party. Shortly after that exchange, Cassie alleged that Diddy gave her a “blue dolphin” ecstasy pill on a boat in Miami, and the two had sex for the first time.

Cassie Addresses Claim That Diddy Dangled a Woman Over Balcony in Testimony

Cassie told the court that it wasn’t until she was 22 when she witnessed and began taking part in Diddy’s “freak offs,” which she described as “the hiring of an escort and setting up this experience so that I could perform for Sean.”

Cassie alleged during her testimony on Wednesday that the freak offs often included men urinating on her. She claimed that Diddy would even physically abuse her when other escorts were present. “He would grab me up,” she alleged. “Push me down. Hit me in the side of the head. Kick me. You name it.”

During cross-examination on Thursday, Cassie claimed she saw Diddy go through opioid withdrawal multiple times and alleged that he’d get angry at her when he “assumed I was cheating.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs and ex-girlfriend Cassie weathered many ups and downs during their romance before parting ways for good in 2018.

While Cassie (real name Cassandra Ventura) has since married Alex Fine and become a mother, her relationship with Diddy hasn’t stopped making headlines. The New York Times reported in November 2023 that Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy claiming the music mogul had a history of abuse while they were together.

Cassie alleged in court documents obtained by the outlet that Diddy urged her to take drugs, beat her and forced her to have sex with “male sex workers” while “filming the encounters.” She further claimed that Diddy “forced her into her home and raped her” in 2018.

Hollywood's Sexual Misconduct Scandals

Diddy “vehemently” denied the allegations at the time, calling them “offensive and outrageous” in a statement to Us Weekly. In March 2024, his Los Angeles and Miami homes were investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in connection to a federal sex trafficking investigation. He was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all of the allegations against him. His trial began in 2025, and Cassie testified.

November 2023

“After years in silence and darkness,” Cassie said in a statement to The New York Times after filing a bombshell lawsuit against Diddy for alleged abuse and assault. “I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Diddy, meanwhile, issued a statement of denial via his legal team that same day. “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail,” his lawyer Ben Brafman said in a statement to the outlet. “Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

Cassie’s legal team, for its part, claimed that Diddy offered her “eight figures to silence her,” which she rejected. Instead, she sued her ex-boyfriend for allegedly harming her in the past both physically and sexually.

She alleged in the lawsuit that when she dated rapper Kid Cudi in 2012, Diddy got so angry he threatened to blow up the musician’s car. “Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway,” the documents state. Cudi told the NY Times that Cassie’s account of the story was “all true.”

One day after filing the lawsuit, Cassie confirmed to Us that she and Diddy had reached a settlement.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control over,” the singer said in a November 17 statement distributed by her attorney Doug Wigdor. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy also released a statement through Wigdor, sharing that they had decided to resolve the matter “amicably.”

March 2024

After facing more sexual assault and harassment lawsuits from multiple people, Diddy became the target of a U.S. Department of Homeland Security sex trafficking investigation. His properties across the country were raided.

“Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami and our local law enforcement partners,” Homeland Security shared in a statement with Us. “We will provide further information as it becomes available.”

Two of Diddy’s sons, Justin and King, were reportedly detained and later released as his Beverly Hills home was searched. Following the raids, Diddy was spotted pacing at a Miami airport. According to TMZ, he and his entourage were allegedly stopped from taking off in a private jet by Homeland Security. Diddy did not publicly address the raids at the time.

While it is unknown whether Cassie’s settled lawsuit against the music star is connected to the federal investigation, her lawyer Douglas Wigdor told Us in a statement that they “will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law.” The statement continued: “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”

May 2024

CNN obtained security footage taken in 2016 that allegedly showed Diddy grabbing Cassie by her neck at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles before he shoved, dragged and kicked her. He also allegedly threw an object at Cassie before walking away.

“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” Cassie’s attorney Wigdor told Us in a statement after the footage resurfaced. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

He later apologized for his actions in a video shared via Instagram.

May 2025

Cassie took the stand for the first time in Diddy’s trial in May 2025, detailing her relationship with the rap mogul. In her testimony, Cassie described the alleged freak offs, revealed an opioid addiction she developed during the relationship and claimed that he raped her. (Diddy has denied allegations of rape.)

Cassie also confirmed the financial details of her settlement after suing Diddy in 2023, claiming that he paid her $20 million to resolve the matter before going to court. (Diddy denied the allegations in her lawsuit in a statement shared by his attorney and has pleaded not guilty in his sex trafficking trial.)

Summer House's Lindsay Admits Baby Kept Her and Turner Together This Long

Lindsay Hubbard got real about why she and boyfriend Turner Kufe lasted so long in a preview for the season 9 Summer House finale.

“If I didn’t get pregnant, I don’t know if we would’ve stayed together,” Lindsay, 38, confessed to Paige DeSorbo and Amanda Batula in the teaser, which was released at the end of the Wednesday, May 14, episode of Summer House.

Lindsay’s omission, which was filmed in early 2025, took both ladies by surprise. “Wow,” Paige, 32, replied, while Amanda, 33, looked visibly shocked.

Lindsay initially dated Turner in 2020 following her split from Stephen Traversie. Once the relationship fizzled out, Lindsay moved on with housemate Carl Radke. She and Carl, 40, got engaged in August 2022 and one year later Carl called off their engagement.

Lindsay Hubbard Defends Filming New 'Summer House' Season While Pregnant

Lindsay surprised fans and her housemates when she revealed in July 2024 that she was pregnant with her first baby.

“Y’all know I’m doing math over here. Break up in September [from Carl]. Wedding didn’t happen in November. December, [Turner] reached out. July now, she’s four and a half months pregnant. … How did she do it?” Ciara Miller asked about Lindsay’s timeline during the Summer House season 9 premiere, which aired in February.

Lindsay didn’t initially reveal Turner as the father, but she later revealed that she and Turner reconnected in January 2024 and got pregnant very quickly. The reality star has since gushed about him while keeping his face off social media.

Carl Radke Says Ex Lindsay Hubbard Seemed 'Much Happier' Amid Pregnancy

“He’s already the best support system, the best partner,” Lindsay exclusively told Us of Turner in October 2024. “He comes to every single appointment, whether it’s my OB or an ultrasound scan. He talks to [the baby] every single night. He’ll put my compression socks on before flights, ties my shoes. He’s so sweet. He really is such a great support.”

The couple welcomed their daughter, Gemma, in December 2024. As Lindsay shared updates about her life as a mom, fans started to wonder whether she and Turner were still an item.

Lindsay dodged breakup rumors in February, revealing on an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that he was “backstage.”

When asked about their future, Lindsay confessed she didn’t “know” what was going to happen. “I think we’re trying to figure that out,” Lindsay said at the time. “We got pregnant very quickly upon dating, and it’s very challenging even on the strongest of relationships.”

Throughout season 9 of Summer House, Lindsay kept her relationship with Turner as private as possible, usually calling him off camera while away in the Hamptons.

On the anniversary of her and Carl’s breakup, however, she hosted a “freedom dinner” for her housemates and celebrated her life, including the pregnancy with Turner.

“I like to refer to it as my freedom dinner. Because it set me free and allowed me to go pursue everything that I’ve pursued this last year,” Lindsay told Gabby Prescod during Wednesday’s episode, which was filmed while she was pregnant. “Now all my dreams are coming true. They wouldn’t have happened if I was still in that relationship.”

During the actual dinner, Lindsay addressed Carl directly and toasted to being in a better place without him.

“I am pregnant, and that is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I don’t think that would’ve happened if we didn’t break up,” Lindsay said. “So, honestly Carl, thank you for setting me free. So that I could go and accomplish my dreams.”

Summer House’s season 9 finale airs on Bravo Wednesday, May 21, at 9 p.m. ET.

Scarlett Johansson Says 'Life Has Humbled' Bill Murray: He's 'Different'

Scarlett Johansson has known Bill Murray since she was 17 years old — and after a rocky start to their relationship, she is happy to see him in a better place.

“Bill was in a hard place,” Johansson, who worked with Murray in 2003’s Lost in Translation, recalled to Vanity Fair of shooting the film an interview published on Wednesday, May 14. “Everybody was on tenterhooks around him, including our director and the full crew, because he was dealing with his … stuff.”

The actress, now 40, was just a teenager when she and Murray, now 74, shot the movie in Tokyo. Johansson revealed she’d never worked with someone in that kind of “headspace” and Murray’s own struggles while filming left Johansson feeling lonely on set.

Flash forward more than 20 years later and Johansson says Murray is in a much healthier phase of his life. Johansson told the outlet she witnessed the evolution when they reunited at Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary Special in February.

“He’s such a different person now,” Johansson shared, noting the comedian was warm with everyone on set. “I think life has humbled him.”

Murray came under fire in 2022 when production was suspended on the film Being Mortal after he was accused of “inappropriate behavior” with a female crew member.

“I don’t go too many days or weeks without thinking of what happened,” Murray said during an April appearance on The New York Times’ podcast “The Daily.” He explained that what started out as a “funny” gesture — he gave the woman a kiss through a mask during the coronavirus pandemic — resulted in him being “barbecued” and facing legal repercussions. (The woman later received a settlement of “just north of $100,000” from Murray who also reportedly signed a non-disclosure agreement.)

Johansson confirmed that Murray’s actions on Being Mortal were “certainly” part of what she considered to be the humbling parts of his life. “That was really bad,” she told VF, noting that’s not the only thing she thinks prompted Murray to reevaluate his life.

“I also know COVID was a hard thing for him. Life — all these things have led up to him being held accountable for that kind of behavior,” Johansson explained, adding, “But you know what? How wonderful that people can change.”

While Johansson and Murray didn’t form a strong bond while filming Lost in Translation, the actress says the Oscar-winning movie helped her grow as an actor and on a personal level.

“I’m pretty proud of how I handled myself. I really just did the work, you know? It’s a good tactic for pushing through stuff,” she revealed. “Eyes on the prize.”

'True Blood' Cast: Where Are They Now? Anna Paquin and More

True Blood hooked fans in with its dark depiction of vampire life in Bon Temps, Louisiana, and its pull is still felt by many of the show’s fans today.

From 2008 to 2014, viewers tuned in to see telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) attempt to bridge the gap between the town’s residents and vampire population. She proved that humans could live with supernatural beings based on her continued friendship with Tara (Rutina Wesley) after she turned — and through her own vampire love triangle.

As Sookie juggled Civil War vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and his longtime foe Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard), her police officer brother, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), found himself getting into trouble for his “fangbanger” reputation.

The series, which lasted seven seasons on HBO, was based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. HBO confirmed in February 2021 that a reboot was in development with Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and NOS4A2 creator Jami O’Brien cowriting. The project was ultimately axed in 2023.
