  • Zoe McGrady is one of 25 contestants on season 29 of "The Bachelor," which stars Grant Ellis.
  • During week two, her competitive approach to dating frustrates the other women.
  • Zoe is a 27-year-old tech engineer and model based in New York.

"The Bachelor" season 29 contestant Zoe McGrady wants to win over Grant Ellis β€” and she'll do whatever it takes to spend time with him.

Zoe, 27, is one of 25 women participating in the latest season of the reality TV show. The competition intensifies during week two, when Zoe steals Grant away for a private chat during the first group date of the season, a slam dunk competition.

Zoe causes more drama later when she interrupts Grant's one-on-one conversations with contestants Juliana Pasquarosa and Alli Jo Hinkes so she can talk to him further.

"We have one shot at all of this," she tells the women. "We had one shot at basketball, we had one shot on our group date today. We have one shot at this whole experience, and I know personally I gave it my all today and I'm very happy that I got time with him. That's what you gotta do."

Here's everything to know about Zoe.

Zoe grew up in Virginia with her adoptive parents

During an appearance on an episode of the podcast "Miss Represented," released in January 2024, Zoe, who's a mixed woman of color, said that she was adopted by two white people and grew up in a predominantly white town in the South.

She said that it was challenging growing up in Virginia as one of the few people of color who was also interested in STEM and felt like the "black sheep" of her hometown.

"I was definitely an outcast," Zoe said, adding that she was the first female wrestler to join her high school wrestling team.

Zoe said that she was interested in science and math from a young age, and even dressed up as Albert Einstein more than once for Halloween.

She went on to pursue a career in STEM after graduating from high school.

She's now a tech engineer and model based in New York

Zoe graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 2019 and has been working in fintech since then.

After getting hired as a project manager at the tech company Quantile, Zoe moved to New York, where she decided to become a model in addition to her day job. She signed with the modeling agency Wilhemina Models in 2023.

She's done modeling jobs in beauty, lifestyle, sports, and fitness, and has walked runways as part of New York Fashion Week.

Zoe is a two-time first runner-up in the Miss New York USA pageant

In the podcast, Zoe said she never competed in a pageant prior to participating in Miss New York USA in 2022. She discovered the casting call for the pageant while scrolling on Instagram.

Zoe said she spent most of her life focused on sports and education and never thought she'd fit into the pageant world. However, she learned that she had a story to tell and felt she could use her platform to speak about things that were important to her.

In an Instagram post, Zoe said that she competed in the pageant so she can "share my story and advocate for other people with adverse childhood experiences," inspire women in male-dominated fields like wrestling and engineering, and make underrepresented people feel seen.

She was named the first runner-up of Miss New York USA in both 2022 and 2023 and returned to the pageant to compete a third time in 2024.

She's also a youth mentor and motivational speaker

Zoe often speaks in schools, telling kids about her passion for STEM, how her childhood and upbringing shaped her, and how she overcame adversity to succeed as a woman of color.

She also appears at conference panels and offers one-on-one mentorship on topics ranging from building confidence and resilience to managing mental health and healing from adverse childhood experiences.

Meet Alexe Godin, the 'Bachelor' contestant who earns Grant's first impression rose and the first date of season 29

  • Alexe Godin is one of 25 contestants on season 29 of "The Bachelor," which stars Grant Ellis.
  • During night one, Grant is attracted to her quirkiness and gives her the first impression rose.
  • Alexe is a 27-year-old pediatric speech therapist from New Brunswick, Canada.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the season 29 premiere of "The Bachelor."

Grant Ellis' season of "The Bachelor" is underway, and one woman has already stood out among the 25 contestants.

Grant, 31, who was first introduced to Bachelor Nation on Jenn Tran's season of "The Bachelorette," gets another chance at finding the one as the leading man on season 29 of "The Bachelor."

During Monday night's season premiere, Alexe Godin, 27, catches Grant's attention and earns the coveted first impression rose β€” and the first one-on-one date.

Alexe is searching for a man who's "open-minded, hardworking, and an all-around good human," her ABC bio reads. And it looks like she might have found that in Grant on this season of "The Bachelor."

Here's everything to know about Alexe.

Alexe is a pediatric speech therapist from New Brunswick, Canada

In 2022, Alexe graduated from the University of Ottawa with a master's in speech-language pathology. Her LinkedIn profile says she's been working as a speech therapy assistant since February 2022.

Alexe grew up on a farm in a small town in Canada and pays homage to her animal-loving side and rural roots by arriving at the Bachelor mansion with a scene-stealing llama named Linda.

As a French Canadian, Alexe tells Grant that it's important that her significant other is fluent (like her) or at least tries to learn French. In the season premiere, she teaches Grant some French words, and the two share a kiss afterward.

She enjoys traveling

Alexe's Instagram profile is filled with photos of her visiting destinations like Hawaii, Paris, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Croatia with her friends. Most recently, she went to Tulum, Mexico.

Alexe's ABC profile says she loves making her friends laugh and "always knows how to get the party started."

When Alexe and Grant chat on night one, she says that she needs someone who's "grounding." She adds that she likes Grant because he's "super calming," while she's a "ball of energy."

"I really like Alexe's vibe," Grant says. "She's somebody who I could really get along with, have fun, and really be myself."

It's early yet, but Grant, who wants to become a husband and a father, feels that he and Alexe are compatible.

"Alexe showed me the full picture of who she is," Grant says. "She's funny, really smart, and she works with kids. Alexe is going to make a great mother, and that's what I'm excited about β€” building my own family."

Given their obvious connection, it's not fully surprising that Grant gives the first impression to Alexe near the end of the evening.

"She's so funny, she's so quirky, she's so sweet, and she's smart," he says. "For just meeting each other, we had the most connection and spark. Everything that she is embodies what I look for in a woman, and I can't wait to get to know her more."

In a change-up for "The Bachelor," the first impression rose recipient will also get to go on the first one-on-one date with Grant during next week's episode.

"I'm so happy, and it's very validating that he's seeing me for who I am and enjoying my little quirks," Alexe said. "The fact that I get the rose and the one-on-one is so freakin' special."

  • Grant Ellis gets another chance at love on season 29 of "The Bachelor."
  • Grant told Business Insider that his season of "The Bachelor" is fun, challenging, and eye-opening.
  • A teaser trailer hints at Grant being conflicted about who to choose between the final two women.

Grant Ellis wants to find his wife on season 29 of "The Bachelor," and it looks like his wish just might be granted.

"My experience on 'The Bachelor' taught me that it's really, really plausible to fall in love on one date if you're open and if the trust is there," Grant, 31, told Business Insider ahead of the season premiere.

The day trader joined Bachelor Nation when he competed inΒ Jenn Tran's "The Bachelorette"Β seasonΒ last year. Although he was devastated to be eliminated before hometowns, he's getting a second chance at love as the leading man of the latest season of "The Bachelor."

With the season just beginning, here's what we could piece together about whether Grant gets engaged at the end.

Grant described his season as fun, challenging, and eye-opening

This season will show Grant horseback riding, doing ballroom dancing, performing a song onstage, and bungee jumping in his quest to find the one.

When asked how Grant would sum up his season, "fun" was the first word that came to mind.

"It's a season where I challenge myself and the ladies' personalities, and my personality really shows," Grant told BI.

Grant also said that his journey was "challenging."

"It was a challenging season because I really dug into my emotions and a lot of family things that stemmed inside me," he said. "Being on the show, being behind the camera, and being able to have these interviews and talk about it really, really opened me up."

Getting to unpack his feelings also led to some revelations, he hinted.

"Honestly, it was an eye-opening season for me," Grant said. "I learned a lot about myself, and I learned a lot about the women, too, and I hope that we all can move forward and just grow."

Reality Steve has already shared major spoilers for Grant's season of 'The Bachelor'

Warning: Stop reading now if you don't want to know potential spoilers for Grant's season.

The teaser trailer for Grant's season alludes to the Bachelor being undecided about who to choose, to the point that host Jesse Palmer tells Grant that both women are en route and he needs to know which contestant to send first.

Longtime Bachelor Nation blogger Reality Steve reported that Grant does end up with one of the 25 contestants.

In an October Instagram post filled with spoilers, Reality Steve said four women go on hometown dates this season: client service associate Juliana Pasquarosa, tech engineer and model Zoe McGrady, venture capitalist Litia Garr, and attorney Dina Lupancu.

Reality Steve reported that Dina gets eliminated after hometowns and the final two contestants of season 29 of "The Bachelor" are Juliana and Litia.

It makes sense that Liltia would make it to the finale since Grant told BI that he "had a really special connection" with her.

"That was something that grew throughout the season, and I know that you guys will see that on screen," he said.

But Reality Steve said that Juliana is the winner of the season, and she and Grant are engaged.

Business Insider reached out to a rep for "The Bachelor" about Reality Steve's predictions but didn't hear back.

Grant also hasn't spilled any telling details about his finale, but he gave some context about why he'll appear conflicted.

"It wasn't really something internally that I was torn with," Grant told BI. "It's just that the two women that were at the end were so amazing. All the women were amazing, and I had a really hard time."

"I'm somebody who's really decisive in my life and in my choices, but when it comes to matters of the heart, it's a little different because I cared. I developed relationships with these women," he added.

New episodes of "The Bachelor" premiere on Mondays on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu.
