Awards season continued Sunday, February 23, as film and television’s biggest stars attended the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña were among the stars feted with top prizes on the movie side, continuing to pick up steam as they get ready for the Oscars on Sunday, March 2.

On the television side of things, Shōgun’s Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada were among the top drama winners, alongside The Penguin’s Colin Farrell and Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning.

Sunday’s ceremony also saw wins for Only Murders in the Building’s Martin Short and Hacks star Jean Smart on the comedy end of the spectrum.

During Sunday’s ceremony, Chalamet, 29, picked up Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. “I was not expecting this at all, truly,” Chalamet said in his acceptance speech. “I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me, but the truth is this was five and a half years of my life.”

Later in the speech, Chalamet noted, “Lastly, I can’t downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me. I know we’re in a subjective business. The truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that. But, I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight.”

The Dune actor had a busy night as he was also spotted greeting the iconic Jodie Foster and celebrating his award win in the press room with his mom, Nicole Flender. Other stars spotted inside the ceremony included Ariana Grande, Elle Fanning and Daniel Craig.

MTV reality star Tony Raines, best known for The Challenge, was arrested early Sunday, February 23, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reports TMZ.

Raines, 36, was charged with one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, one count of reckless operation and four counts of negligent injuring, according to the outlet.

Online records show that a Charles Anthony Raines (Raines’ full name) was booked at 3 a.m. local time Sunday by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana. He was bonded out of custody at around 9 p.m. Sunday. (TMZ reported that Raines was held on a $7,500 bond.)

Us Weekly has reached out to Raines’ representatives for comment.

Lindsay Lohan’s dad, Michael Lohan, was arrested Saturday, February 22, over the alleged assault of his estranged wife, Kate Major.

Michael, 64, was taken into custody without incident in Harris County, Texas, and charged with continuous family violence, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Us Weekly.

According to the police department, Major attended a medical appointment on Friday, February 21, and was concerned that Michael, 64, was following her. Police then responded to a 911 call.

Major told police officers that Michael had flipped her out of a chair several days before and complained of pain and discomfort. A female deputy noted bruising on Major’s body, the sheriff’s office said.

Michael was held on a $30,000 bond.

In a statement to TMZ Sunday, February 23, Michael denied the allegations. “I’ve shut up long enough about Kate’s physical, emotional and verbal abuse,” he said. “She set me up. Originally she said I was stalking her! Really? Lol. Then, when that didn’t work, she said, I pushed her over a chair which is a total lie. Not only will my kids attest to it, but I have video. I have more videos of her abuse.” (Major has yet to publicly respond to Michael’s comments.)

Michael and Major, 42, married in 2014 and share two children, sons Landon, 12, and Logan, 10. Major filed for divorce in 2018. (Michael also shares four children with his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, including Lindsay, 38.)

The couple have had their ups and downs over the years. In June 2024, Major was arrested for violation of a protective order after a heated exchange with Michael in the middle of the road, reported TMZ at the time. It’s not clear whether any charges were pressed against Major.

Michael was previously arrested for allegedly assaulting Major in Southampton, New York, in February 2020.

According to the Southampton Police Department, the domestic incident occurred at the Lohan’s house — but the arrest took place two miles away on Main Street. “He was arrested without incident,” Sgt. Herman Lamison told Us at the time.

Michael was charged with “misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation (choking)” as well as second-degree harassment, the sergeant said.

In March 2020, TMZ reported that the choking charge against Michael had been dropped and he had struck a plea deal on the charge of harassment. Michael was put under a two-year limited protective order and fined, according to the outlet.

The Only Murders in the Building duo were among the A-list stars who attended Sunday’s SNL anniversary special. Other stars included Meryl Streep, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

During the Weekend Update segment of the show, SNL regular Colin Jost joked about a health scare potentially plaguing the special.

“Health experts are facing increased pressure this winter in the face of outbreaks of COVID, the flu, RSV and norovirus, which they’re calling a quad-demic. So we did the smart thing and packed every beloved entertainer over 60 into one tiny space,” Jost quipped.

As well as attending the 50th anniversary special, Short and Streep were also at the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert on Friday, February 14, where they sat beside comedian Amy Schumer.

Meghan Markle is fully embracing her new era.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared an inspiring new Instagram post on Thursday, February 20, that appeared to tease the first product under her newly rebranded company, As Ever, as well as sweet nods to her husband, Prince Harry, and her son, Prince Archie, 5.

Meghan shared a snap of a vision board featuring recipes, pictures and inspirational quotes on Thursday. “From memory lane to the memories I’m making today…” she captioned the post.

Among the items on the vision board are several jam jar labels for a raspberry spread bearing the As Ever brand name and logo. Liam Payne’s friend and two others will no longer face manslaughter charges in connection with his death, per multiple reports.

Rolling Stone reports that Argentina’s Court of Appeals issued a ruling on Wednesday, February 19, acquitting Payne’s pal, Roger Nores, and two workers at the hotel where the singer died of charges. The BBC also reported the news on Thursday, February 20.

“Glad this is finally over. I’m happy I’m now going to be able to travel to the U.K. and say goodbye to my friend,” Nores told Rolling Stone.

According to the outlet, a panel of judges ruled that Nores did not help Payne in “obtaining and consuming alcohol,” citing the court’s ruling, nor could he have prevented the One Direction star’s death last October.

Nores has vehemently maintained his innocence since his friend’s death. “I never abandoned Liam. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.”

Two workers at the hotel where the incident took place, the CasaSur Palermo, were also cleared of charges. Judges ruled that there was not enough evidence that Esteban Grassi, a receptionist, and Gilda Martin, a manager, acted in a “thoughtless, reckless, or merely negligent” manner in the moments leading up to Payne’s death at the establishment.

The two men accused of selling Payne drugs, Ezequiel Pereyra and Braian Nahuel Paiz, remain behind bars while they await trial.

In December 2024, Paiz was charged with allegedly supplying drugs to Payne. Us Weekly confirmed in January 2025 that he was arrested and could face between four and 15 years in prison.

Paiz previously said that he and Payne took drugs together, but told Argentina’s Telefe Noticias, “I never took drugs to him or accepted any money.”

Pereyra, who was also a CasaSur employee, was charged with allegedly supplying drugs to Payne before his passing. Local outlets reported Pereyra was arrested in January 2025, nearly one week after Paiz, per CBS News. It isn’t clear whether Pereyra has entered a plea in response to the charges against him.

Payne’s cause of death was listed as “multiple traumas,” including hemorrhages in his chest, skull and abdomen. It was later reported that a partial autopsy found “pink cocaine” — a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA — along with cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack in Payne’s system at the time of his passing. He was laid to rest in Amersham, England, in November.

Lively has been embroiled in a legal battle with It Ends With Us director and costar Baldoni since December 2024. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, criticized Reynolds’ SNL 50 joke on the Monday, February 17, episode of the “Hot Mics With Billy Bush” podcast.

“I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that,” Freedman said. “So it surprised me.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking to dismiss at least one of the charges against him in a federal indictment filed last year.

Attorneys for Diddy, 55, filed a motion to dismiss count three of a September 2024 indictment that charges him with transportation to engage in prostitution.

In a Tuesday, February 18, court filing, obtained by Us Weekly, the star’s attorneys argued that “no white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar prosecution” under the Mann Act, which prohibits the transportation of women and girls across state lines for immoral purposes, such as prostitution.

“There has never been a similar RICO prosecution. No white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar case,” the motion states. “Mr. Combs has been singled out because he is a powerful Black man, and he is being prosecuted for conduct that regularly goes unpunished.”

The motion further alleges that “the government’s handling of this case demonstrates bias and animus.”

“It has gone out of its way to humiliate Mr. Combs and to prejudice the jury pool with pretrial publicity that plays on racist tropes. It has leaked damaging (and often times false) material to the press,” the motion alleges.

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and is awaiting trial on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. A 14-page indictment unsealed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office claimed that Diddy “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him” for decades.

The third count of the indictment, transportation to engage in prostitution, alleges that “from at least or about 2009, up to and including in or about 2024” Diddy knowingly transported “female victims and commercial sex workers” across the U.S. “on multiple occasions with the intent that they engage in prostitution.”

The disgraced music mogul pleaded not guilty to the allegations against him last September before being remanded to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center ahead of his trial date, which is slated to begin in May. He was also denied bail following four separate appeals.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo told Us in a statement at the time. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”

The statement concluded, “To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Blake Lively is accusing Justin Baldoni of making other women “uncomfortable” on the set of It Ends With Us.

Lively’s lawyers filed an amended lawsuit, obtained by Us Weekly, against Baldoni, his Wayfarer Studios, producing partner Jamey Heath, and others, on Tuesday, February 18, alleging that the actress wasn’t the only one who raised sexual harassment concerns regarding Baldoni.

“The amended complaint details the corroboration that backs up Blake’s original sexual harassment and retaliation concerns, including that (1) Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath made other women uncomfortable on set; and (2) other women confided in Blake about their discomfort and fear of coming forward, and their concern about the current public vitriol,” a spokesperson for Lively told Us in a statement on Tuesday.

“The new filing also details that a Sony representative spoke to Baldoni about the concerns, and that Baldoni responded, including by reaching out to one of the other women who complained to reassure her that he heard her and promised to make adjustments,” the statement continued.

“The complaint alleges that Mr. Baldoni didn’t follow through on that promise, but did make the adjustment to hire a crisis management team, digital manipulation experts, litigators, and used those helpers to plan and execute the smear campaign described in her original lawsuit. In doing so, Blake has alleged, Baldoni hoped that if she or any other woman made their grievances public, nobody would believe them,” the spokesperson added.

The amended lawsuit also alleges that an online smear campaign orchestrated by Baldoni and Wayfarer has gotten dangerous for Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and others, and that a recently launched Wayfarer investigation into sexual harassment complaints against Baldoni by Lively and others is “a farce, not an investigation” because of Baldoni’s involvement.

“Online hate and vitriol have appeared on social media accounts of Ms. Lively, Mr. Reynolds, their numerous businesses, many members of the cast of the Film, and third parties associated with it,” Lively’s spokesperson said in a statement. “Witnesses have been threatened not just with lawsuits, but physical violence, including threats against witnesses’ families.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Baldoni’s attorneys for comment.

Lively, 37, first filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and company in December 2024, accusing her It Ends With Us director and costar of sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages.

In the original lawsuit, Lively alleged that Baldoni wanted to add sex scenes that weren’t in the film’s script, improvised unwanted kissing, and discussed his sex life, including times when he may not have received consent.

Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman denied the “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” accusations in a statement to Us at the time, claiming Lively filed her complaint in order to “fix her negative reputation.”

Baldoni later filed his own $400 million lawsuit accusing Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy and other claims. Lively’s legal team referred to the suit as “another chapter in the abuser playbook,” claiming in a statement, “This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender. … The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

A trial is currently scheduled to begin in 2026. Earlier this month, Lively and Baldoni’s respective camps rejected settling the dispute in mediation.
