Kevin Bacon Was Turned Down for a Role in This Iconic Movie Sequel

Kevin Bacon may not be seen in the upcoming This Is Spinal Tap sequel — but it’s not for a lack of trying on his part.

“I wanted to play one of the exploding drummers in the new Spinal Tap, basically, but I didn’t have [director Rob Reiner’s] number,” Bacon, 66, revealed during the Friday, April 4 edition of The View.

Bacon has history with the Spinal Tap II: The End Continues filmmaker, as Reiner directed him in the Oscar-nominated 1992 legal drama A Few Good Men. The pair’s previous working relationship led Bacon to think he could play the next in a long-line of doomed Spinal Tap drummers.

During Bacon’s appearance on The View, Bacon confirmed that he wasn’t able to convince Reiner to let him join Spinal Tap for their upcoming movie.

Kevin Bacon Says He Hasn’t Been to the Oscars in 40 Years

“Somebody called him for me, and I didn’t get the part,” he confirmed. “Spinal Tap, I’m so excited about part two, and the original it was a running joke that they just had drummers that would disappear.”

The View cohosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin humorously encouraged Bacon to never give up on his dream of joining the comedy rock group.

“Yeah, [I could be in] part three,” Bacon declared.

One of the recurring gags in 1984 mockumentary revolved around the rockers — played by Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer — frequently auditioning new drummers because their predecessors all disappeared under unusual circumstances.

Ed Begley Jr. portrayed Spinal Tap’s original drummer John “Stumpy” Pepys, though the character only briefly appears in the movie because of his death in a mysterious gardening accident. Stumpy’s death set off a chain reaction where later drummers suffered a variety of odd deaths, including band members spontaneously combusting, falling into a shark tank or being eaten by a snake.

Given the deadly reputation of the job, it’s no surprise Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood once jokingly auditioned for Spinal Tap while wearing a fire-proof suit.

Original ‘Footloose’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues reunites Reiner with Guest, McKean and Shearer 41 years after the release of their comedy classic. Reiner reprises his role as opportunistic documentarian Marty Di Bergi, while Guest, McKean and Shearer are back as Tap members Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls, respectively.

This time around, Spinal Tap are reuniting for one final concert with the help of music industry titans such as Elton John, Garth Brooks and Questlove. Fans can also expect callbacks to memorable characters from the original, as Fran Drescher and Paul Shaffer are returning as Spinal Tap’s publicist Bobbi Flekman and the inept promoter Artie Fufkin.

The 1984 Reiner-directed rockumentary provided early exposure for several notable stars, as Billy Crystal, Dana Carvey and Anjelica Huston all made cameo appearances.

Did Kevin Bacon Really Turn Down Patrick Swayze’s ‘Ghost’ Role?

This Is Spinal Tap gained cult classic status following its release and was selected by the Library of Congress to join the National Film Registry in 2002. The movie also ranked 29th on the American Film Institute’s AFI’s 100 Years…100 Laughs list in 2000.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues will hit cinemas on September 12.

Motley Crue Cancel Festival Date Due to Singer Vince Neil’s Health

Mötley Crüe canceled a headline slot at the Boardwalk Rock festival because of singer Vince Neil’s ongoing health problems.

“Vince’s health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery. Please join us in wishing him well,” the band said in a statement on Thursday, April 4.

The heavy metal icons were due to perform on the opening night of the Ocean City, Maryland festival on May 17 as part of a loaded two-day lineup that also includes Def Leppard, Alice Cooper and Bret Michaels. They will be replaced as Boardwalk Rock headliners by ‘90s grunge pioneers Alice in Chains.

“We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the show and appreciate your understanding,” Mötley Crüe said. “Our friends Alice in Chains are confirmed to take our place on May 17 and we are immensely grateful to them for stepping up and bringing their awesome show to Boardwalk Rock.”

Their statement concluded, “Thank you to all the Crüeheads for your continued support. We can’t wait for Vince to fully recuperate and to be back on stage again soon.”

Neil has yet to clarify what ailment he’s battling, though his health problems previously forced Mötley Crüe to delay the launch of their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM from this spring to a new September 2025 start date.

“To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to seeing us this spring, I’m truly sorry,” Neil said earlier in March. “My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserved, and I can’t wait to return to the stage. Thank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know.”

Neil received public support from Mötley Crüe bandmates Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and John 5 wishing him “a speedy recovery.”

“We are looking forward for him to get well again and to take over Vegas together in September. We can’t wait to see you all out there, and thank you for your support and understanding in the meantime,” the trio added.

Tommy Lee's Wife Brittany Furlan Says He Only Showers 'Once a Week'

It has been a difficult few months for Neil, as his girlfriend, Rain Andreani, was injured in February when his private plane crashed into another airplane at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. Neil was not on board at the time, but his plane’s pilot was killed and four people were hurt in the tragic collision.

“At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport,” his spokesperson said in February. “For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.”

His statement continued. “More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation. Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”

The National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) preliminary investigation concluded that the jet’s rear left landing gear was not functioning, nor was the aircraft properly equipped with thrust reversers. According to the NTSB, these crucial malfunctions contributed to the jet sliding over the safety islands at Scottsdale Airport and then colliding with a nearby plane.

A final accident report from the NTSB will be released later this year.

Art Garfunkel, 83, Breaks Silence on Long Standing Health Battle

Art Garfunkel opened up about stepping away from his legendary music career due a long standing battle with the skin condition psoriasis.

“Psoriasis is something I lived with quietly for many years. It was part of my life even during my most public moments, including on tours, but I rarely, if ever, spoke about it,” Garfunkel, 83, told People in an interview published on Friday, April 4.

The Simon & Garfunkel musician revealed that he underwent numerous treatments for the autoimmune disease, which can cause patches of dry and irritated skin, but had little success until recently. The singer detailed experimenting with “different creams, remedies, even treatments involving UV light and tar” without much relief.

“My treatment journey was long, and it wasn’t easy … I remember being completely covered in tar; what a mess. Some gave me temporary relief, but nothing really lasted — it was a frustrating cycle,” he explained. “The itching always came right back, and so did the scales. It was so uncomfortable.”

Art Garfunkel Details Paul Simon Reunion After 'Period of Estrangement'

Garfunkel’s health condition even forced him to put his music career on hold because of the strain of having to cover up the physical signs of psoriasis.

“Performing is such a big part of who I am, so having to step back because of my psoriasis was difficult,” he remembered. “I could be in front of thousands of people but still have to cover up. It can affect your confidence, your comfort in your own skin, and it isolates you in ways people don’t always see.”

However, Garfunkel said he’s now comfortable appearing in public again after using Ilumya, a pharmaceutical treatment that manages moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. As he begins this new chapter in his life, the musician credited his wife of 37 years, Kim Garfunkel, and his family with offering him unwavering support.

“With a treatment that works for me, and the support from the love of my life, Kim, and the rest of my family, I am in a different place,” he said. “I realized that sharing my story might help someone else who is still in the thick of it. By revealing my story, I want to reach someone who is struggling with psoriasis and let them know you are not alone and that there is hope to place psoriasis in the rearview mirror of your life.”

Garfunkel returned to the stage with the release of 2024’s Father and Son, a collaborative album with his son Art Garfunkel Jr. In December 2024, Garfunkel shared exciting news that he’d reconciled with longtime musical partner Paul Simon after years of “estrangement.”

“I know we met up recently for the first time in years,” Garfunkel shared during an episode of Live With Kelly and Mark. “We had a period of estrangement for some years until — he has a son that moved into the place that I live in and I knew I was going to run into Harper [Simon] and Harper set up a dinner and Paul and I hung out, first time in years. And it was very touching.”

Simon, 83, announced huge news of his own in February by confirming he was returning from retirement for the 52-date A Quiet Celebration Tour.

Simon had previously said in 2018 that he could no longer perform live regularly due to hearing loss. For his new tour, Simon and his team worked with the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss on a venue and stage setup that wouldn’t cause additional auditory problems.

'Lord of the Rings' Cast's Honest Quotes About Being Underpaid

Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom are among the Lord of the Rings stars who have claimed they were underpaid on the billion-dollar franchise.

Director Peter Jackson spared no expense on special effects for his adaptation of the hugely influential works of fantasy writer J. R. R. Tolkien — the trilogy reportedly had a combined budget of $281 million. As a result, audiences made LOTR one of the most successful franchises of all time with nearly $3 billion in earnings at the box office.

Jackson’s trilogy proved so popular that he eventually spent a jaw-dropping $700 million for the budget of three Hobbit prequel films. With so much cash flying around Middle-earth, it’s a surprise that the star-studded cast didn’t necessarily reap the benefits.

Keep scrolling for a look back at what some of Lord of the Rings’ key cast members said about allegedly being underpaid for the trilogy:

‘Lord of the Rings’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Elijah Wood

Elijah Wood New Line Productions, Inc.

Wood should have been a prime candidate for getting a huge paycheck on LOTR, since his character, Frodo Baggins, is crucial to the trilogy’s plot throughout all three movies. However, the actor told Business Insider in March 2025 the cast’s contracts weren’t “lucrative” partially because they signed on for a trilogy at the outset.

“Because we weren’t making one movie and then renegotiating a contract for the next, it wasn’t the sort of lucrative scenario that you could sort of rest easy for the rest of your life,” Wood recalled.

There was little time to even broach the subject of renegotiating contracts because Jackson and the LOTR cast shot all three films back-to-back between October 1999 and December 2000.

Wood declined to state how much he earned on LOTR, insisting instead that it was just an “honor to have been a part of those films.”

“The benefit of [the pay] was that we were also signing up for something that was going to be a part of our lives forever,” he added.

Cate Blanchett

The 'Lord of the Rings' Cast's Honest Quotes About Being Underpaid for Billion-Dollar Franchise
Cate Blanchett New Line Productions, Inc.

The two-time Academy Award winner, who played elf leader Galadriel, told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen in 2024 that “no one got paid anything to do” Lord of the Rings.

Cohen seemed surprised by Blanchett’s statement, as he assumed she’d at least received a “piece of the back end” of the record profits made by the three Lord of the Rings films.

“No, that was way before any of that … no, nothing,” she insisted.

Blanchett admitted she was willing to take less money than she deserved because LOTR gave her an opportunity to work with a director she admired, in Jackson.

People Are Confused by Cate Blanchett Calling Herself 'Middle Class'

“I wanted to work with the guy who made [1992 horror movie] Braindead,” Blanchett joked. “I mean, I basically got free sandwiches, and I got to keep my ears … No, no one got paid anything.”

Despite her salary woes on LOTR, Blanchett reprised her role as Galadriel for Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy and recently offered to return for costar Andy Serkis’ upcoming spinoff movie.

“I would do anything with Andy Serkis, anything, I love him to death,” Blanchett said at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival. “That bunch of people have been like a life raft for me, and I adore Andy, so yes. I finagled my way into The Hobbit … so I will go and hunt [Serkis] down.”

Orlando Bloom

The 'Lord of the Rings' Cast's Honest Quotes About Being Underpaid for Billion-Dollar Franchise
Orlando Bloom New Line Productions, Inc.

Bloom was one of the bigger names in the LOTR cast when The Fellowship of the Ring hit theaters in December 2001, but a quirk of scheduling potentially prevented him from reaping the financial benefits.

The British actor had another huge hit in 2001 with Black Hawk Down but the war drama was actually filmed after Bloom had completed his work on Lord of the Rings due to the latter’s year-long shooting schedule.

As such, Bloom revealed on The Howard Stern Show in 2019 that he “got nothing” for playing Legolas — or, more accurately, he got $175,000.

Still, he admitted to Stern: “[It was] the greatest gift of my life … I’d do it for half the money.”

Sean Astin

Sean Astin New Line Productions, Inc.

Astin, who played the hobbit Samwise Gamgee, confirmed on The Jim and Sam Show in 2008 he was offered $250,000 total for filming the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy (or, $75,000 per movie). He said he received “no residuals” but did get a cut of the merchandise for his character.

“During the contract phase, I just couldn’t believe it was going to be so little. I’ve made tons more money than this on an individual film, and this is, like, a galactic movie,” he remembered. “It’s about negotiating, when you want them more than they want you.”

While Astin felt that he lost money upfront, he hinted that producers New Line made him “feel a little bit better” by the time they were promoting the third and final film, The Return of the King.

“We’re not supposed to talk about that,” he teased. “By then, I’d done a lot of other work and we were fine.”

Heath Ledger’s Dating History: Michelle Williams and More

Heath Ledger was involved in numerous high-profile relationships throughout his life.

The Academy Award-winning actor spent several years and had a child with Brokeback Mountain costar Michelle Williams, but he was linked to Heather Graham and Naomi Watts earlier in his life. Ledger also had a brief romance with model Gemma Ward in the final weeks of his life.

Ledger tragically died at just 28 years old in January 2008 from an accidental overdose as a result of prescription drug abuse. He left behind his and Williams’ daughter, Matilda.

Lisa Zane

The actress and songwriter — who is the sister of Titanic’s Billy Zane — dated Ledger from 1997 to 1998 after they starred together in Fox’s short-lived adventure series Roar.

Filmmaker Matt Amato was close friends with Ledger during this period and would later be involved in the making of 2017 documentary I Am Heath Ledger. Amato credited Lisa with helping clean up Ledger’s image prior to his breakout success in 10 Things I Hate About You.

“I was living with Lisa Zane, and she took him by the scruff and brought him to L.A. and said he was going to be successful. And we had a great time,” Amato told The New York Post in 2017. “The day after he moved in I gave him the script to 10 Things I Hate About You, written by a friend. Which was kind of a lucky thing.”

While Ledger was new to Hollywood during his time with Lisa, she already had an established career with movie credits dating back to the late 1980s. Lisa continued to act after her 1998 split from Ledger, including starring in the Dinotopia TV series and lending her voice to Biker Mice from Mars.

Heather Graham

Former Twin Peaks star Graham told Australia’s TODAY in 2023 she still thought of her time with Ledger, which occurred between 2000 and 2001, as a very “special” period in her life.

“[Heath] really brought so much joy into my life,” she recalled. “He was a very soulful person. Obviously, he was very talented. I think he’s a magical person and I feel lucky to have known him.”

Graham said she still felt “really sad” about Ledger’s death, especially since she knew he would have “done a lot more amazing stuff” if he’d lived.

In 2021, Graham found a vintage photograph of herself with Ledger from their relationship and subsequently shared it via her Instagram.

“Going through my photos I found these. Just remembering this time. Heath Ledger was such a special person,” she captioned the post.

Ledger was linked to model Cauchi between 2000 and 2002 where he was emerging as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

In the 2017 documentary I Am Heath Ledger, Cauchi spoke fondly about her time with Ledger. She remembered that her ex-boyfriend constantly brought a camera along when they went out together.

“There were always cameras around … That’s the only way I think of him — with the camera in the hand,” Cauchi recalled.

Naomi Watts and Heath Ledger

Naomi Watts

The duo fell in love after starring in 2003’s historical epic Ned Kelly, in which Ledger had the title role as a notorious outlaw and Watts played his love interest, Julia Cook. Ledger and Watts were together from August 2002 to May 2004.

Watts told More Magazine in 2011 that the time she spent with Ledger was a whirlwind of fun and romance.

“We had a beautiful relationship, only a couple of years, but he was a man who was completely full of joy, and there was a lot of laughing and affection. He was really a very special soul,” she said at the time.

The two-time Academy Award nominee marked the tenth anniversary of Ledger’s death in January 2018 by telling The Associated Press that she was still in awe of her ex-boyfriend’s “incredible work.”

Heath Ledger’s 5 Most Memorable Movie Roles

“[He was] a powerful artist who contributed to our industry in such a major way,” Watts said. “I’ll never forget his work and who he was, his spirit. He’s left a big mark on me and so many of my friends, who we all hung out together.”

She went on, “It’s so sad that he didn’t reach his full potential. I mean, he did [reach it]. He did so much but his life was just too short … He has left a fantastic legacy.”

Michelle Williams

Ledger worked with Williams on the acclaimed 2005 Western romantic drama Brokeback Mountain, in which they played a married couple. The duo got together off screen as well and later welcomed daughter Matilda in October 2005.

The actor was notoriously guarded about his personal life, but did open up to Entertainment Weekly in 2005 about how love blossomed thanks in part to his and Williams’ close quarters on the Brokeback Mountain set.

“It was really beautiful. Yeah it was very romantic,” he recalled. “We were suddenly thrown into a little husband-wife situation. Our bed, honestly, was no bigger than that little round table there. My legs would hang off this far at the end. But it was worth it. And it was comfortable, somehow.”

Ledger continued, “It was sweet. It was very, very sweet. I could have stayed like that for years. It was very, very, very sweet.”

Michelle Williams Through the Years: From ‘Dawson’s Creek’ to the Oscars

Michelle’s father, Larry Williams, revealed to The Daily Telegraph in September 2007 that the actress had split from Ledger and was enduring a “hugely difficult” time. Shortly after Ledger’s death in January 2008, Michelle and daughter Matilda were forced to move out of their New York City apartment to rural upstate New York because of media intrusion.

The Dawson’s Creek star has spoken fondly of Ledger when reflecting on his life over the years, including telling Vogue in September 2009 how their daughter Matilda keeps the actor’s memory alive.

“Every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at her,” Williams said at the time. “I can talk about grief, because that’s mine, about single parenting, about trying to balance work and kids. But what I don’t have to talk about is what happened between Heath and me in our relationship. Brokeback Mountain was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love. I was in a movie I was proud to be a part of and with a beautiful, brand new baby. Everything was good in that moment.”

Gemma Ward

Ledger started dating Australian model and actress Ward mere weeks before his death. The couple reportedly spent Christmas together in Perth in 2007, but Ledger suffered a fatal overdose shortly after returning home to New York City in January 2008.

In a 2011 Vogue profile, Ward said that her lasting memory of Ledger is that he was a “devoted father” to his daughter Matilda.

“There was no one like him — and no one will ever be like him,” she reflected. “I’m just so grateful I got to meet him and get as close as I did with him.”

Bruce Springsteen Announces Release of 7 ‘Lost Albums’ in June

Bruce Springsteen announced the June 27 release of seven “lost albums” as part of a new boxed set called Tracks II.

“During the pandemic, what I did during that time is I finished everything I had in my vault,” Springsteen, 75, said in a teaser released on Thursday, April 3. “This is Tracks II. The ‘Lost Albums’ are records that were [full albums], even to the point that they were going to be mixed, and not released.”

Springsteen organized 83 songs in total into a sequel to his 1998 boxed set, Tracks, which gathered rare and unheard material from the earliest days of the E Street Band up through the 1990s. Tracks II features even more unreleased songs recorded between 1983 and 2018.

“For one reason or another, something I felt was missing from some of [the ‘Lost Albums’], or they just didn’t feel complete at the time,” he explained. “Over a period of time, I built a small collection of full albums that for one reason or another, never got put out.”

A Look Back at Bruce Springsteen’s Career Over Six Decades

The first disc, titled LA Garage Sessions ’83, selects 18 songs that were initially developed as part of the Born in the U.S.A. recording sessions. Springsteen originally had a much different conception for Born in the U.S.A., with early tracks sounding much more akin to 1982’s sparse Nebraska than the synthesizer pop sound that eventually made it onto the 1984 record.

Other collections featured in Tracks II include Faithless, gathering selections from an abandoned film project. Somewhere North of Nashville features a country music sound, while Inyo draws on Latin influences. Springsteen experimented with pop orchestration on Twilight Hours, whereas Perfect World is the only disc that wasn’t initially conceived as a single album.

Streets of Philadelphia Sessions comes from Springsteen’s recordings in the mid-1990s, after he’d dismissed the E Street Band and released two solo albums, Lucky Town and Human Touch, on the same day in March 1992. Fans have long suspected that Springsteen planned to infuse contemporary hip-hop into his music around this time, though the material was never officially released until now.

“I read about myself in the ’90s as having some ‘lost period’ or something. Not really. Really, I was working the whole time,” Springsteen said in a teaser for Tracks II.

Bruce Springsteen and Wife Patti 'Didn't Expose' Kids to His Fame

Springsteen will present his seven ‘Lost Albums’ alongside a 100-page clothbound, hardcover book filled with rare and never-before-seen photographs from the past 40 years. Fans can either opt for the full nine-disc Tracks II set or go for a condensed 20-track companion album titled Lost and Found: Selections From the Lost Albums.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and his E Street Band are scheduled to be back on the road this summer for a 16-date European tour that will see them performing in the U.K., France, Germany and beyond.

Springsteen’s wife and bandmate, Patti Scialfa, was missing on most of his North American tour dates in 2024 due to her diagnosis with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, in 2018. At the October 2024 premiere of his documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the singer-songwriter said Scialfa’s diagnosis taught him a lesson in mortality.

Bruce Springsteen Gushes Over Wife Patti Scialfa After Her Cancer Diagnosis

“Hey, you get up around our age, and those are the things you’re thinking about,” he admitted. “Patti and I have had to deal with her illness, and you’re worried about … it is a part of your life now, questions of mortality, and it just becomes a part of your life.”

Springsteen was also recently spotted spending time with Jeremy Allen White, as the Bear star will be playing the rocker in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. The Pale Blue Eye director Scott Cooper’s biographical music drama chronicles Springsteen’s efforts in trying to redefine himself with the recording of 1982’s gritty album Nebraska.

Vanna White Shares Update on Pat Sajak After His ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Exit

Vanna White offered an update on her longtime Wheel of Fortune costar Pat Sajak following his departure from the game show in 2024.

“I talk to Pat all the time. He’s doing great. He’s healthy, he’s happy,” White, 68, said of Sajak, 78, on the Wednesday, April 2 episode of the “Holding Kourt” podcast. “I just had dinner with him about a month ago, so I just want to let everyone out here know he’s doing good.”

Sajak cohosted Wheel of Fortune for 43 years before retiring last June and has since been replaced by American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest. White signed a contract extension in 2023 that will keep her on Wheel of Fortune at least through the summer of 2026.

During her appearance on “Holding Kourt,” White reflected on the “big decision” she had to make about her future on Wheel of Fortune after learning of Sajak’s retirement.

Wheel Of Fortune's Vanna White Thanks Pat Sajak for Making Her 'Who I Am'

“Am I going to stay? Do I go out with [Sajak] after 41 years together? It was going to be hard to work with somebody else, you know, after being so familiar with [Sajak],” she recalled. “It was just very hard for me to make that decision because I’m happy with my job. I still love my job. I decided to obviously stay on and I’m glad I did. There’s always contracts, there’s always controversy and all that stuff, but everything’s fine. I’m happy. We’re here.”

White was full of supportive words for her new cohost Seacrest, praising him for doing “an incredible job” of carrying on Sajak’s legacy.

“We’re about to wrap up our first year, and I think it’s obviously a huge transition,” she acknowledged. “Everyone has watched Pat and me together for 41 years. To bring someone new in, it’s hard to get used to. You want to stay with what’s familiar but [Ryan] has stepped in and done a great job.”

White went on, “He said, the first day Ryan walked in, he said, ‘Listen, no one can ever replace Pat. I’m just here to do the best job I can.’ He has done a good job. He’s fun to work with.”

Fans haven’t actually seen the last of Sajak and White together yet, as they will both return for Sajak’s final episodes as host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune beginning Wednesday, April 30 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. Sajak’s final spins of the wheel will see Katharine McPhee, Cameron Brink, Josh Gad, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall and more famous faces competing to win $1 million for their favorite charity.

Vanna White Was ‘Scared’ She Wouldn’t Have Chemistry With Ryan Seacrest

Sajak joined Wheel of Fortune in 1981 as a replacement for original host Chuck Woolery, with White signing up as his on-air counterpart the following year. In 2019, Sajak set a Guinness World Record when he surpassed The Price Is Right’s Bob Barker as the longest-serving host of a game show.

When Sajak signed off in June 2024, he told Wheel of Fortune viewers that it had been “an honor” to be part of so many families’ lives during his 43 years on the series.

“I have a few thanks and acknowledgments before I go, and I want to start with all of you watching out there. It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade,” he said.

Wheel of Fortune airs weeknights on ABC.

Elon Musk Claims He’s Given Ashley St. Clair '$2.5 Million' for Child

Elon Musk insisted that he’s given influencer Ashley St. Clair $2.5 million following her claims that the X CEO is the father of her newborn child.

“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out. No court order is needed,” Musk, 53, wrote on Monday, March 31 via X. “Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.”

Musk was responding to The Daily Mail publishing video footage of St. Clair apparently handing over the keys to her Tesla outside of her Manhattan apartment building after selling the vehicle.

“I need to make up for the 60 percent cut that Elon made to our son’s child support,” St. Clair, 26, insisted.

Where Elon Musk Stands With the Mothers of His 13 Children

St. Clair, who said she last spoke to Musk on February 13, had a pointed response when asked if she thought Musk was being “vindictive” about their custody dispute.

“Well, that’s his modus operandi, when women speak out,” she continued. “You can check the stocks, I’m not the only one who is cleaning up after his messes.”

After Musk claimed to have given St. Clair $2.5 million on Monday, she replied via X by alleging that the tech executive “refused” a chance to take a paternity test before the 6-month-old child’s birth.

“Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused,” she wrote on the Musk-owned social media platform. “And you weren’t sending *me* money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary… until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for ‘disobedience.’ But you’re really only punishing your son. “

St. Clair continued, “It’s ironic that your last effort in court was to try to gag me while you use a social media channel you literally own to distribute derogatory messages about me and our child to the entire world. It’s all about control with you, and everyone can see it. America needs you to grow up, you petulant man-child.”

Meek Mill Jokes Elon Musk Can’t Have ‘More Baby Mothers’ Than Him

The influencer and writer announced on February 14 that she had allegedly given birth to the Tesla founder’s 13th child.

“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father,” St. Clair wrote via X at the time. “I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.”

She went on, “I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”

One week later, St. Clair filed a lawsuit against Musk in New York Supreme Court to seek sole custody of their child. In her initial court filings, St. Clair alleged that Musk had only met her son “three times” but had “acknowledged parentage of the child in various written correspondences.”

Ashley St. Clair Claims Elon Musk Told Her to Keep Their Alleged Baby a Secret

St. Clair’s lawyers later requested that Musk attend a court hearing at the New York County Courthouse in New York City on May 29. At this hearing, Musk’s legal team will have the chance to argue that he should be exempt from taking a paternity test.

Musk shares six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson, to whom he was married between 2000 and 2008, as well as three kids with former partner Grimes (real name Claire Boucher). Grimes and Musk welcomed son X Æ A-Xii in May 2020 and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl the following year. The former couple, who split in 2022, also share a son named Techno Mechanicus.

Additionally, the tech mogul has four children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. Zilis made a surprising announcement on February 28 that her and Musk’s youngest son Seldon Lycurgus, his 14th child overall, had recently been born.

“Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful [daughter] Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus,” she wrote via X. “Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much ♥.”

Jessica Biel Thinks '7th Heaven' Actually 'Shot' Kiss Scene Between Siblings

Jessica Biel remembers that awkward almost-kiss with on screen brother Barry Watson during the 7th Heaven pilot — but she thinks the original script had them go even farther than what made it to the final edit.

“I do think we shot it. I think, at the time, everyone was [thinking], ‘This isn’t really gonna work!’” Biel, 43, confessed during the Sunday, March 30, episode of the “Catching Up With the Camdens” podcast. “Everybody seemed to think this was not the best move for these siblings on this show.”

The podcast’s latest 7th Heaven rewatch featured hosts David Gallagher, Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman reuniting with Biel to reflect on their early days working together.

The 1996 episode, “Anything You Want,” features an uncomfortable moment where Mary Camden (Biel) asks her older brother Matt (Watson) to teach her how to kiss a boy. Matt seems uncomfortable with Mary’s demand, but they are interrupted before kissing by their father, Reverend Eric Camden (Stephen Collins).

‘7th Heaven’ Cast Reunites 17 Years After Series Finale

“This isn’t what it looks like,” Matt tells his dad, with Eric responding, “That’s a relief.”

The pilot underwent extensive changes between filming and airing on TV, leading to confusion over whether Biel and Watson shot an alternate version of the scene where they actually kissed.

“We’ve been talking about it,” Mitchell, 44, admitted to Biel in their podcast reunion. “We thought [there was a kiss] but we know it never made it to air. I couldn’t remember if you guys actually had to shoot it?”

The actress quipped,, “Honestly, I don’t know if that was real or not,” before admitting that her “14-year-old self” was probably excited by the chance to shoot a kissing scene with her older costar. Mitchell later pointed out that Biel had “a few makeout scenes” with guest stars throughout 7th Heaven’s first season.

“I mean, someone had to do it,” Biel teased.

This isn’t the first time the awkward sibling moment has been addressed by the cast since going viral online. In March 2024, Watson told 7th Heaven fans during a ‘90s Con panel in Hartford, Connecticut that executive producer Aaron Spelling came up with Mary and Matt’s kissing scene.

‘7th Heaven’ Cast Address Stephen Collins’ Sexual Abuse: 'Inexcusable'

“I knew then, I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this,’” Waston, 50, remembered. “And I found out from [Brenda Hampton], the creator, that it was Aaron that insisted on having that scene. That was the only time I ever questioned Aaron’s creativity because I always think, ‘This would never happen.’”

He insisted the duo had not “made out” for the scene, but then quipped, “Of course, back then, Jessie probably wouldn’t have minded.”

On Sunday’s “Catching Up With the Camdens,” Biel also reflected on another embarrassing moment on the 7th Heaven set when she reminded her costars about the time she damaged their school trailer.

“I popped the clutch in my parents’ Subaru when I had my learner’s permit, not my real license. And I flew backwards and reversed into Mackenzie’s school trailer and busted it off its supports. Broke the computer,” she recalled.

“The computer got smashed, my parents’ car got smashed and I almost hit my brother [Justin Biel],” Biel conceded.

Stephen Collins Is Dating Fan 40 Years Younger After Child Sex Abuse Scandal

Biel was on 7th Heaven for its first six seasons, before leaving the show after landing a starring role in the reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a supporting part in Marvel’s Blade: Trinity.

Biel made guest appearances on 7th Heaven several times after quitting the show, having last appeared in the season 10 finale “…And Thank You (Part 2).” The 2006 installment was originally envisioned as the last-ever 7th Heaven episode — and, thus, also brought back Gallagher and Watson — but the show was ultimately renewed for one more season when The WB and UPN combined into The CW in 2006.

Authorities Say Carbon Monoxide Found in Gardner Family Hotel Room

Costa Rica authorities say carbon monoxide was found in New York Yankee star Brett Gardner’s family’s hotel room during an investigation into the death of his 14-year-old son, Miller Gardner.

Miller died on March 21 while he was vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. A preliminary cause of death was ruled to be asphyxia “after a possible intoxication after apparently ingesting some food” by Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigative Agency (OIJ) on March 24.

However, Randall Zúñiga, General Director of the OIJ, said in a Monday, March 31, virtual communication to the press that Miller “may have died from inhaling” carbon monoxide.

The OIJ official confirmed “high levels of carbon monoxide contamination” were detected in the family’s hotel room as part of testing carried out by a “specialized hazardous atmosphere team” from the Fire Department and forensic engineering performed by OIJ investigators.

Yankees’ Aaron Judge Calls Brett Gardner a ‘Second Dad' After Son's Death

“It’s also important to note that next to [the family’s] room there is a specialized machine room, from which it is believed some form of contamination may have reached the guest rooms, potentially causing the incident,” he theorized.

Zúñiga said that the OIJ notified both the local Fire Department and the Ministry of Health in order for them to “take appropriate action regarding this confirmed contamination in the room.” He reiterated that OIJ was working in tandem with the FBI in the U.S. as they “wait for the final results from forensic toxicology.”

“Nonetheless, the initial investigative findings indicate that the incident was due to this contamination, with levels as high as 600 parts per million detected—when the appropriate level in this case should be zero,” Zúñiga said.

The Gardners were staying at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort when Miller died.

A hotel spokesperson responded to the OIJ’s carbon monoxide reports in a Monday statement to Us Weekly, saying, “We deeply regret the recent death of a minor at our facilities due to unconfirmed causes. We express our sincere condolences to the child’s family and loved ones in this time of immense grief.

“We are respectfully and diligently collaborating with the Costa Rican judicial authorities, who have assumed the corresponding investigation,” the statement continued. “We trust that the forensic process will objectively, clearly, and conclusively clarify the real causes of this unfortunate incident. For the time being, the investigation will continue with the analysis of the various theories put forward by the judicial authorities.”

The hotel representative added that Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort would “refrain from commenting on possible hypotheses or unconfirmed causes” while the investigation into Miller’s death is ongoing.

“Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our guests and employees, and we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to the highest standards in the operation of our facilities,” the hotel said. “We appreciate your understanding regarding the sensitivity of this situation.”

Restaurant Where Gardner Family Dined Days Before Miller's Death Responds

New York Yankees star Brett, 41, and his wife, Jessica Gardner, made the tragic announcement earlier this month they had lost their 14-year-old son.

“With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation,” they pair said in a joint statement. “We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st.”

They continued: “Miller was a beloved son and brother and we cannot yet comprehend our life without his infectious smile. He loved football, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family and his friends. He lived life to the fullest every single day.”

On Sunday, March 30, a spokesperson for the Judicial Investigation Agency’s Press Office told Us Weekly Miller’s body had been discharged but “out of respect for the family it has not been disclosed who it was released to.”

Us subsequently confirmed that a body cannot be released from a morgue in Costa Rica unless a family member or a legal representative submits an official request. Miller’s autopsy is expected to be completed in approximately two months.

The Gardner family have chosen a way to keep Miller’s memory alive during this tragic time. An obituary published in Charleston, South Carolina’s Post and Courier on behalf of the Gardners asked that donations be made in Miller’s honor to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, a non-profit that fulfills the wishes of young people battling life-threatening medical conditions.

“The Gardners have seen the organization’s impact firsthand on numerous occasions and have always been deeply moved by the hope, strength, and inspiration each wish provides for children and families facing difficult times,” Miller’s obituary read. “In this time of unimaginable loss, the family prays that joy and healing will come to others who share their grief.”

Hotel Owner Says Miller Gardner’s Death Has Led to 'Huge' Cancellations

The family went on, “Miller’s time here with them was brief but his spirit will carry on forever through those who were impacted by the way he lived. Miller was so blessed with experiences and friendships in his 14 years, and he would want other children to have the opportunity to create their own wonderful memories.”

Miller’s Pinewood Prep junior varsity baseball team from Summerville, South Carolina, made its return to the field for the first time since his death with a 5-0 win over Trinity Collegiate School last week. Pinewood Prep coach Phil Hartig told The Post and Courier that it was “good to get back out [there] on the field.”

“These boys need to get together and be together. It’s going to help the healing process,” he added.

A private celebration of life will be held in Miller’s honor at a later date.

What Does ‘That's Not My Name’ Mean? ‘The Life List' Resurfaces Hit

Netflix’s hit movie The Life List introduced a whole new generation to The Ting Tings’ 2008 banger “That’s Not My Name.”

Released on Friday, March 28, The Life List stars Sofia Carson as a grieving young woman, Alex, who goes on an unexpected quest following her mother’s death. Alex embarks on a road trip to complete a list of life goals she originally wrote as a 13-year-old, in order to access a mystery inheritance left by her late mom.

Along the way, Alex jams out with her family’s lawyer, Brad (Kyle Allen), and his girlfriend Nina (Maria Jung) to “That’s Not My Name” — with the banger becoming an anthem for Alex that recurs throughout her journey.

Keep scrolling for a look back at the history of “That’s Not My Name” and how the cast of The Life List felt about the track below:

TV Shows That Feature Taylor Swift's Music in Pivotal Moments

The Song

“That’s Not My Name” was the debut for British indie pop duo Katie White and Jules De Martino in 2007 when it was released as a double A-side single with “Great DJ.” It didn’t get much attention at first but was re-released in 2008 to much greater success.

The group couldn’t have asked for a better debut, as the rerelease of “That’s Not My Name” entered the British pop charts at No. 1 in May 2008. It only held the top spot for a week before falling down the charts in favor of Rihanna‘s “Take a Bow” hitting No. 1 across the pond.

“That’s Not My Name” cracked the Top 40 in the U.S. — hitting No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 — but was certified Gold with sales of over 500,000 copies.

The track received an additional boost of exposure in 2022 as part of a viral TikTok trend that intentionally misidentified some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Will Smith, Alicia Silverstone and Drew Barrymore are among the stars who took part in the trend.

The Meaning

White and De Martino have previously suggested the general public misinterpreted the meaning behind “That’s Not My Name.” White was once quoted as saying the song was basically her “ranting about [her] frustrations with the record industry.”

While the pounding beat and relentless repetition of names may fool listeners into thinking it’s a frivolous party jammer, White told The Irish Examiner in 2010 that the track is “a really sad song” about the unfair comparisons that artists often face.

“It’s empowering, but we’ve all had a point in our lives where we felt that s***, that we’re useless at everything and that we weren’t memorable,” White explained. “Everybody feels like, ‘I don’t know what my place is and I can’t seem to find myself,’ at some point, and I don’t think a lot of people saw that with the song.”

Purple Hearts' Sofia Carson Defends Netflix Film Amid Thematic Criticism

White went on: “Most people probably thought it was about some boy in a bar who has forgotten your name — but it really wasn’t about that. It was about feeling invisible and unconfident.”

In 2022, the track resurfaced when it was used in a TikTok trend poking fun at various celebrities. At the time, White and De Martino expressed their surprise and appreciation that “That’s Not My Name” had reached a new audience.

“Early in our career, someone said, ‘You’ve written one of those songs that’s just going to keep on going.’ And they were right, it just keeps coming around,” De Martino told Variety at the time.

‘The Life List’

In Netflix’s latest hit movie, “That’s Not My Name” recurs during tough moments for Alex as inspiration to keep pushing forward on her cathartic road trip.

One particularly recurrence of the song sees Alex and Brad rocking out in an empty bar — before realizing how much they’d bonded throughout their road trip. Carson and Allen actually landed their starring roles in The Life List by auditioning with this scene.

“It was so fun to watch them dance to that Ting Tings song at the audition — instant chemistry, instant connection,” producer Liza Chasin told Tudum.

Carson and Allen are both trained dancers, so they were able to put their backgrounds to use in one of The Life List’s particularly resonant moments.

“It was really fun to dance like Alex and Brad in a completely uninhibited, free, and kooky way,” Carson revealed. “I love that scene, and that was such a beautiful memory. I think so many people have had nights like that.”

Celebs Who've Said They Don’t Want Their Kids to Go Into Show Business

The entertainment industry was built on family legacies — from Drew Barrymore and her legendary acting dynasty to Miley Cyrus and her talented musical family.

However, some stars want to avoid their children falling into the pitfalls of fame. After all, ‘nepo babies’ may start their careers with a foot forward based on their last name, but they also face intense scrutiny and endless comparisons to their famous family members.

Backlash and judgment are amplified in this social media age, making it even more difficult for second-generation celebrities to step out of their loved ones’ shadows.

Keep scrolling for a look at why Barrymore and more celebs have discouraged their children from following in their footsteps:

The Drew Barrymore Show host comes from one of Hollywood’s most storied clans — her grandfather John Barrymore and great-uncle Lionel Barrymore were two of Hollywood’s earliest stars and her great-aunt Ethel Barrymore was hailed as “The First Lady of the American Theater.”

Drew had her first acting job when she was just 11 months old and, after becoming a star in 1982’s E.T., famously struggled with the spotlight as a world-famous young adult.

The Golden Globe Award winner understandably told People in 2018 that she wasn’t willing to let her children face the same hardships she endured as a young actress. (She shares two daughters, 12-year-old Olive and 10-year-old Frankie, with ex-husband Will Kopelman.)

“I’m not going to let them be kid actors,” she insisted. “That’s so not their journey.”

Though acting is off the table for Olive and Frankie for now, Drew promised she would be supportive if her daughters developed an interest in acting later in life.

“If they want to be actors [later] in life, I would be so supportive of it,” she vowed. “Can you imagine me being [a] mom [who is] pushing her kids out there? That’s not going to happen.”

High School Musical alum Tisdale told Us Weekly exclusively in March 2025 that she “personally wouldn’t have [her kids] go into the business,” if at all possible.

Tisdale started her career at 3 years old and racked up roles in films like Donnie Darko and A Bug’s Life by the time she was a teenager.

Now a parent of two daughters — 4-year-old Jupiter Iris and 6-month-old Emerson Clover— with husband Christopher French, Tisdale says she would “support” her children no matter what career they wished to pursue even though she’d prefer for them to look outside of Hollywood.

Celebrities Explain Why They Don’t Want to Have Children

“I think I come from a different place where I’ve been in the business since I was 3 and been working since I was 3,” she pointed out. “The most important thing for my kids is for them to have a real childhood. I feel very lucky that I was a child actor, that I was able to go through every stage and still work is such an amazing thing.”

Tisdale justified her reluctance for her children to become actors because of how “rare” it is to actually succeed in the entertainment industry.

“I struggle with mental health. ” she added. “The biggest thing is for them to have a normal life. If they wanna do it when they’re older and can handle that, then I would support them.”

Jason Momoa

Momoa disclosed to Entertainment Tonight in 2021 that one of his and ex-wife Lisa Bonet’s two children — now-17-year-old Lola and 16-year-old Nakoa-Wolf— was interested in acting.

“I’m not a fan. I don’t want them to,” he conceded.

The Aquaman star insisted he would “try [his] damnedest to keep ’em out” of Hollywood because he didn’t want them to face the harsher elements of the business.

“I love storytelling, I love theatrical things, I like directing and filmmaking, but I just want them to, you know, really to go for other things,” Momoa said.

He went on, “If they [really] want to, maybe. But I don’t want them to get into acting. It’s very hard on people and I don’t want them to have that pressure. I’m tough, I can handle it, but I wouldn’t want to put someone I love [through] that.”

Ed Sheeran

Four-time Grammy winner Sheeran pulled no punches on the “Table Manners” podcast discussing the possibility of his and wife Cherry Seaborn’s daughters, 4-year-old Lyra Antarctica and 2-year-old Jupiter, trying their hand at the guitar.

“I think it’s from being in the music industry — I’m like, ‘I would not wish this on my child,’” he said in 2021.

Sheeran admitted that he would “hate” for Lyra and Jupiter to be known simply as his daughters and hoped they would be able to pursue their own dream.

“I think Lyra will be more [interested in] sport,” he added.

If that’s the case, Lyra could be taking after her mom Seaborn, who is a part-time, professional field hockey player.

Daniel Radcliffe

Radcliffe made his screen debut at age 11 in the lead role of 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, after taking part in an international casting call. He would go on to star in eight Harry Potter films in total by the time he was 22.

The Harry Potter actor has since gone on the record against his 1-year-old son, whom he shares with partner Erin Darke, becoming a child actor like him. (Radcliffe and Darke have chosen not to publicly reveal their son’s name.)

“I don’t wanna stop him from doing that, but if you can do something other than acting — if you can do something behind the scenes, it’s a lot healthier life in a lot of ways,” Radcliffe told People in 2024. “I dunno, if he can act and not be famous, then great, I can encourage it.”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher

The former That ‘70s Show costars are parents to 10-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle and 8-year-old son Dimitri Portwood. Kunis once told Conan O’Brien that the last thing she wanted was to be parenting child stars.

“To say I wouldn’t allow her [to act] would be horrible, but I’d really, really like for [Wyatt] not to be in this industry in any form,” she explained in 2013.

Kunis teased her husband’s sports ambitions for Wyatt, saying, “I think that if it was up to him, she would be the very first female professional NFL coach. Specifically for the Chicago Bears. That is what he is molding her to be.”

Kevin Costner

Costner bragged in a 2024 interview with Australia’s TODAY that he had “not shoved [his] children into the business.” The Yellowstone star shares Annie, 40, Lily, 38, Joe, 37, and Liam, 26 with his first wife Cindy Silva and ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney, respectively, as well as Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14 with second wife Christine Baumgartner. (Kevin and Christine finalized their divorce in 2024.)

Several of Kevin’s children work behind the scenes in entertainment, in addition to Hayes having a supporting role opposite his dad in Horizon: An American Saga.

“In a sense, it was a smaller part,” he explained to TODAY. “I selfishly wanted him with me for the week, two weeks, he was with me. And we would drive to the set every day and he would whisper. He didn’t have a lot of experience, but he’s really beautiful in the movie.”

Matt Damon

In 2012, Damon explained to The Hollywood Reporter that he was opposed to his and wife Luciana Bozán’s four daughters — 25-year-old Alexia, 18-year-old Isabella, 16-year-old Gia and 14-year-old Stella— pursuing acting because of the difficulties women face in Hollywood.

“I would try to steer my daughters away from acting,” Damon said.

The Oscar winner argued that, while it’s unfair for women to face different standards to men in any industry, he felt they are “in a different business” to their male counterparts in Hollywood.

“It is just brutal for women,” he said. “For us, the roles get really good at 40 and beyond. And that’s really when you start doing your best work.”

Nick Cannon

The former America’s Got Talent host is a father of 12, including sharing 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. Cannon revealed to E! News in 2017 that all of his children — especially Monroe and Moroccan — are “hams.”

“They love attention. They love performing,” he said. “My son is fascinated with cameras and directing and making little movies. They definitely have the bug.”

Cannon said he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of any of his kids pursuing the spotlight because he’d much rather them grow up to be “nuclear physicists or brain surgeons.”

“I can’t control that. So if they want to be entertainers, I’ll support it,” he conceded.

The twins have gone on to appear in Carey’s music videos and each voiced a character in her 2017 animated movie All I Want for Christmas Is You.

In 2021, Tatum broached the subject of his and ex-wife Jenna Dewan’s daughter Everly, now 11, becoming an actress during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“I want her to learn how to act if she wants to do that but I don’t know if I will be excited for her to just start acting as a job [when she’s] younger,” he said.

Tatum stressed to hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest how important it was for Everly to have as normal a childhood as possible before deciding on a career.

He told the Live hosts, “I want her to experience life and do things but she’s going to do something. She’s such a little trickster.”

Celebrities With Unusual Tech Habits: Ed Sheeran, More

Celebrities, they’re just like us! Or, maybe, when it comes to social media and modern technology, they’re not so much like us, after all.

Whether it’s cutting their digital cord entirely or just engaging in some strange social media posting, many famous faces have made headlines for their unusual use of our vast digital landscape. Some stars, like Ed Sheeran and Sarah Jessica Parker, have opted to unplug at pivotal points in their lives, while others baffle their social media followers on a regular basis with their off-the-wall marketing tactics.

Keep scrolling for a look at some of the world’s most famous stars and their unusual approaches to modern technology:

Ed Sheeran

The “Eyes Closed” singer’s music was streamed an incredible 5 billion times on Spotify in 2024, but none of those plays seemingly came from Sheeran’s own phone. Because, according to the singer, he hasn’t used a cellphone for the past 10 years!

Sheeran revealed during a March 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that his hit single “Old Phone” was inspired by his reticence about digital devices.

He recalled feeling his privacy was invaded during a copyright infringement lawsuit surrounding his song “Thinking Out Loud.” He was cleared of any wrongdoing by a jury in 2023.

Celebrities Who Claim They’ve Been Visited by the Ghosts of Other Stars

“In the lawsuit, they order you to give up all your old devices,” he told host Jimmy Fallon. “So I handed everything in but I haven’t used a phone. I moved to a tablet in 2015, just on email, and so I switched my phone off in 2015 and left it in a box.”

When Sheeran got his old phone back, he was discouraged to find it was filled with countless messages from people he was no longer in contact with.

“I switched it on, it was like going into a time machine,” he continued. “Like, the first text was my friend that had passed away the year before. The second text was an argument with an ex-girlfriend. The third text was a family member I haven’t spoken to in 10 years. The fourth text was another mate that died.”

Maybe Sheeran has the right idea, after all!

Melissa Joan Hart

Hart’s controversial way of marking the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in 2015 got her into some hot water. The Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress’ memorial Instagram post started off respectfully enough as she honored the way Americans “displayed our unwavering strength” after the terrorist attacks.

However, her 9/11 memorial message veered wildly off course when she decided to offer “free shipping” for her online store and even came up with a timely, though questionable, discount code.

“Free Shipping in honor of the victims, families & first responders of 9/11,” Hart wrote via Instagram. “Use the promo code ‘911’ during your online checkout at KingofHarts.com.”

Hart’s post was later criticized as insensitive, so she attempted to explain her misguided marketing tactic in a public apology the following day.

“I want to apologize for yesterday’s free shipping post. It was meant to be my small way to give something back,” she wrote via Facebook. “I wanted to cover the shipping charges as a heartfelt gesture, not an exploit of 9/11. I see now how it was interpreted and viewed as being in bad taste. I apologize. It was a mistake. I did not want to draw attention away from what the focus of yesterday should have been. And for that, I am sad.”

Sarah Jessica Parker

Daniele Venturelli/Getty Images

While SJP never cut the cord entirely, she revealed to E! News in 2013 that she gave up her smartphone and only communicated through emails.

“I don’t like being behind in both phone calls and emails,” Parker explained. “So I chose emails because when you’re on a set you can carefully and sneakily check a BlackBerry, but you can’t return a phone call.”

Parker then made the very relatable confession that “hearing ‘your voicemail is full’ is horrifying” to her. Who doesn’t dread a voicemail from an unknown caller?

Simon Cowell

The America’s Got Talent judge decided pre-pandemic that he was going to change his digital habits after waking up one morning to “52 unread messages.” Rather than make time to write back to every individual person, Cowell chose to turn his phone off for good.

“I thought, even if I reply to every one of those, I’m going to get another replying back, and then I’m going to get more that day,” he told Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “And I realized it was actually stopping me from working or living properly, so I just turned it off and I went a month, three months, then a year, then two years, then three years. And I love it.”

Three years after initially giving up his phone, Cowell warned others that technology could start to “rule” their lives unless they were conscious of the way they utilized it.

“I find … when you’re in a meeting or you’re having a conversation or you’re at dinner and someone’s reading whatever they’re reading on their phone, it’s like we’re not engaging anymore,” he added.

Parton surprised the hosts of The View during a 2023 appearance on the ABC talk show by revealing that friends and loved ones are only able to reach her via fax machine.

Kenny Rogers used to aggravate me about it,” she admitted. “I said, ‘Look, I’ll send you a message by carrier pigeon if I need to get in touch with you. You always seem to know how to reach me when you want something!'”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee insisted she “never did get into getting involved” with mobile devices because she felt they were a distraction from her already busy life.

“It’ll take up too much of my time if I tried to get in touch with everybody who is trying to get in touch with me,” she noted. “So I just say, ‘Fax me! Fax me or call me and I’ll call you back.’”

Parton’s goddaughter Miley Cyrus previously confirmed in 2022 that there truly are no exceptions to the legendary singer’s faxing rule.

“Every time I coordinate and kind of communicate with Dolly, it’s still through fax,” Cyrus said during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “We do use the phone, but she does a fax and then someone scans the fax and then they put it into a text message. And then that gets sent to me, and it’s always signed.”

Kathy Hilton

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ queen of awkward social media interactions worried her followers during the show’s 2022 cast trip to Aspen by leaving some late-night messages on her husband Rick Hilton’s Instagram posts.

“Please call me I need to get out of here now!!!!” she infamously wrote.

Following intense speculation about a potential RHOBH blowout argument, Kathy explained what actually happened during a February 2022 Instagram Live interview with E! News.

“I lost my phone, which I do,” she admitted. “I was kind of left in the house by myself at one point and [I thought] it was about 3 o’clock in the morning. Now, my husband puts his phone in his office, and I know at about midnight he’s on his iPad, and he’ll be scrolling through.”

Kathy remembered she initially messaged Rick because she started hearing strange noises in the villa where the RHOBH cast were staying.

“I knew I’d catch [Rick] by saying, ‘Call me, get me out of here,’ because I did have my iPad, but I had 10 percent [battery] left, no charger,” she acknowledged. “And I started getting scared, hearing all of the noise. I didn’t know what cab company to call. I didn’t know what to do to get out.”

As RHOBH fans know, the exact story about what went down in Aspen was the main point of dispute between Hilton and former costar Lisa Rinna at the season 12 reunion and remains murky to this day.

Christopher Walken

Walken’s Severance character may have to deal with the terrifying repercussions of technological advancement on the Apple TV+ series, but the Academy Award winner himself decided long ago he wouldn’t do anything of the sort.

In January 2025, Walken confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that he simply doesn’t “have technology” at his home.

“I only have a satellite dish on my house. I’ve seen Severance on DVDs that they’re good enough to send me,” Walken said. “I don’t have a cell phone. I’ve never emailed or, what do you call it, Twittered.”

One upside of going (mostly) technology-free is that Walken didn’t have to make much of an adjustment when Severance producer Ben Stiller banned phones on the show’s set.

“Crew have to use phones sometimes to communicate, but, for me, I like no phones anywhere near the eyeshot of the actors,” Stiller explained to Variety in January 2025. “My least favorite thing is to see a dolly grip guy hunched down while an actor is acting their brains out, and he’s scrolling or whatever. It drives me crazy.”

Ric Flair

Pro wrestling legend and former WWE champion “The Nature Boy” was also known as the “60 Minute Man” during his heyday in the ring. That nickname may have applied to his lengthy matches back in the 1980s, but it’s now a more accurate description of how long it must take him to send a single tweet.

Flair has made the unorthodox, and frankly time-consuming, decision to capitalize the first letter in every single word he posts on social media. In some cases — like, when he wrote, “Go To Bed Every Night Of Your Life Knowing… WOOOOO!” in March 2025 — it might not seem like much of a commitment.

‘80s Stars: Where Are They Now?

However, Flair has been known to rant on social media, like the time he complained about pro wrestling podcaster Vince Russo critiquing him for attending the WWE Hall of Fame while he was employed by competitor All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

“Please @THEVinceRusso, I Thought We Agreed That You Wouldn’t Use My Name To Get A Rating! I Work For My GREAT Friend And Employer @TonyKhan, Who Allows Me To Do Things With My Daughter [Charlotte Flair] And Understands The Importance Of Me Being In Attendance At Events Like The Hall Of Fame,” Flair wrote via X in March 2025.

Jana Kramer on Why 'DWTS' Was Her Least Favorite Competition Show

Jana Kramer doesn’t have all fond memories of her time on Dancing With The Stars.

“I hated Dancing With The Stars because that was a big insecurity because I don’t know how to dance,” Kramer, 41, confessed on the Wednesday, March 26, episode of her “Unmask and Unwhine” podcast.

Kramer was speaking on her Masked Singer companion podcast with Candace Cameron Bure about the differences between Fox’s hit reality show and DWTS.

“With [The Masked Singer], it’s, like, you have a mask on, go have fun,” Kramer declared, before clarifying: “I shouldn’t say I hated Dancing with the Stars. It was just a big insecurity. It was my least favorite of the shows.”

Most Disastrous 'Dancing With the Stars' Partners Ever!

The former One Tree Hill actress and Bure have both competed on the two reality shows. Kramer and professional dancer Gleb Savchenko finished in fourth place on DWTS in 2016, before being unmasked as Royal Knight on The Masked Singer last year.

Bure was revealed to be the Cherry Blossom on The Masked Singer this week — after finishing in third place on DWTS with pro partner Mark Ballas in 2014.

During their interview on “Unmask and Unwhine,” Bure, 48, echoed Kramer’s feelings about the two shows, saying, “[I feel the same] in that I was insecure with Dancing With The Stars but loved that journey so much.”

“I’m always telling everyone, ‘Go on Dancing With The Stars, it’s amazing,’” she added.

The former Full House star admitted that the only downside from her time on The Masked Singer was being eliminated so early.

“I was disappointed to be the first one out in my group,” she said. “However, before we went out and we were waiting for results, my husband [Valeri Bure] was with me and I was just like, my nerves [and] my cortisol levels were like 100. They were like off the chart.”

“I was going, ‘I hope I’m the first one off because I don’t want to do this again. I’m so scared to sing in front of people,’” she remembered. “But then, of course, when they called my name, I was like, ‘What? Come on! This isn’t fair!’”

Kramer said she felt similar to Bure during her own last Masked Singer episode, recalling that she told husband Allan Russell backstage that she was “ready to go home.”

Dancing With the Stars’ Most Shocking Eliminations Over the Years

“We were about to go get married,” she clarified. “I was like, ‘I’m ready to go home. I did a couple of shows. Cool. I want to go.’ Then, when they say you’re done, I, like, got a little teary-eyed because I don’t want to go. I don’t like losing!”

Kramer has plenty of competition show experience, having made her debut on CMT’s short-lived country music series Can You Duet in 2008. She later went on to huge success with acting roles in One Tree Hill and Friday Night Lights before stepping into the DWTS ballroom in 2016.

Craig Conover Admits He's Dating Someone Following Paige DeSorbo Split

Moving on! Craig Conover confirmed he’s started dating again after his split from Paige DeSorbo.

“I’m very happy,” the Southern Charm star, 36, revealed on the Thursday, March 27, edition of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Appearing alongside his Southern Charm costars Shep Rose and Austen Kroll on WWHL, Conover surprised host Andy Cohen by revealing there’s someone new in his life.

“When I date, I tend to date only one person at a time,” he said. “I’ve been seeing someone. I’ve been reminded that the universe works in crazy ways and everything happens for a reason.”

Paige DeSorbo ‘Likes’ Post About Guys Who Bring ‘Nothing to the Table’

Conover’s new relationship is his first since he and Summer House star DeSorbo, 32, called it quits in November after three years together. While the breakup may have started friendly, the former couple have thrown shade at each in recent months.

Cohen specifically asked Conover to respond to DeSorbo’s complaint on Summer House that he wasn’t always supportive of her goals. (DeSorbo even questioned if she was dating “secret hater” in one Summer House scene filmed months before the break-up.)

“I obviously was surprised when she left me,” Conover confessed in Thursday’s chat with Cohen. “I think I’m just kind of focused on moving forward.”

Dismissing “made-up stories” about his time with DeSorbo, Conover added, “Her side of things convinced her that the break-up was going to go a certain way and through choices she made after the break-up, things turned on her.”

Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover’s Relationship Timeline

“I haven’t done anything except try to move on with my life,” Conover went on. “I’m really happy in the chapter that I’m in.”

Conover then accused DeSorbo and “her band of friends” from Southern Charm of sending “vitriol” his way even though he was friendly with all of them before dating DeSorbo.

“I want to encourage America to never act like [them]. I think it’s disgusting,” he added.

While DeSorbo has been supported by her Summer House cast mates, she has faced repeated jabs from her former Southern Charm friends. In January, DeSorbo clapped back at Southern Charm star Kroll for a previous appearance on Watch What Happens Live where he implied she was dating someone new.

“Ahh yes a man I haven’t spoken To in 6 months knows exactly what I’m doing,” DeSorbo replied via the comments of WWHL’s interview clip.

On her “Giggly Squad” podcast in February, DeSorbo flatly denied rumors that she’d cheated on Conover during their time together.

Craig Conover Responds to Paige's Claims He Texted Other Women

“The narrative just took a turn really quickly: That I had cheated. That I broke up with him, like, a week ago and moved on with some new guy,” she declared. “Let me say this here and now: I did not move on with some new guy. I’m single.”

The Summer House star continued, “I don’t have a new boyfriend. I did not cheat not on my ex-boyfriend. And it was a full month that we were broken up and I didn’t say anything.”

Another of Conover’s Southern Charm costars, Rose, lambasted DeSorbo during the show’s season 10 finale on March 20 for not fully committing to filming the Bravo reality show.

“I’ll say it. I’ll say something. I think it’s total f—ing bulls–t that Paige didn’t go on one single trip while they were dating,” Rose, 44, told Kroll. “I couldn’t get away with that if I had a girlfriend, I’ll tell you that much.”

In this week’s Southern Charm season 10 reunion episode, Conover shocked moderator Cohen and his costars by recalling one particularly tense moment with DeSorbo just after they’d split.

“[I asked], ‘What do you want me to do with your [engagement] ring?’ She said, ‘Keep it. Maybe we’ll get married at BravoCon!’” Conover alleged.

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen airs on Bravo Sundays through Thursdays at 10p.m. ET.

Christina Haack Claims Josh Hall Has Been 'Wandering' Her Neighborhood

Christina Haack claimed she recently had some awkward run-ins with her estranged husband, Joshua Hall.

“I literally do the same walk every day and two times now, I’ve seen [Hall],” Haack, 41, said during the Thursday, March 27, episode of Jeff Lewis Live.

During the interview, host Jeff Lewis asked for the latest update on Haack’s status with Hall, 44, following both parties filing for divorce in July 2024. Haack offered a surprising answer when quizzed on the last time she’d seen Hall.

“Does your ex ever wander around in your neighborhood? I’ve seen mine twice this month, on my usual, everyday walks,” she said.

She told Lewis and his cohosts that Hall was “by himself” near her Newport Beach, California home when they ran into each other. Haack added that the sightings were particularly strange since Hall “lives in Tennessee.”

Asked if she ever followed-up via text, Haack confirmed she’d “blocked” Hall. Lewis theorized Hall could simply have been “nostalgic” or “reminiscing” about the house he’d shared with Haack during their marriage.

“Who flies all the way from Tennessee just to walk around my neighborhood and flies home?” Haack replied with a laugh.

When a Jeff Lewis Live caller later referred to the alleged Hall sightings as “a really big deal,” Haack added: “Maybe it’s just intimidation.”

The Christina on the Coast star confirmed to Lewis that her divorce mediation with Hall would begin in April, since the two failed to come to terms on settlement offers thus far.

“It has not been close [to settling] but hopefully,” she said. “Mediation is good.”

In response to Haack’s comments on Jeff Lewis Live, Hall’s spokesperson told Us Weekly on Thursday, March 17: “Josh still has ties to Newport Beach and still visits and stays with friends in the same area he once lived. While visiting, he jogs in a familiar known path for joggers.”

“It’s no secret as he has posted it on his Instagram,” Hall’s representative continued. “Maybe that’s where she has seen him, but he’s definitely not looking for her, he’s just staying fit.”

In February, Haack documented a near-miss with Hall at a restaurant, though he later insisted via Instagram that he hadn’t even noticed his former spouse.

“Just got sent this … funny, I didn’t even see her. I would have totally sent a drink over,” Hall wrote via his Instagram Story.

Christina Haack 'Did Not Enjoy' Filming With 'Insecure' Ex Josh Pre-Divorce

Haack said on a recent episode of Christina on the Coast that her children were thriving following her split from Hall. (Haack shares Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with Tarek El Moussa and Hudson, 5, with Ant Anstead.)

“Everyone’s just doing better since he’s gone. Just all that negative energy,” she insisted. “I truly tried to make that work and tried to give him the self-help tools, tried to keep him busy and tried to say, ‘Why don’t we start flipping houses?’ and all those things. No matter what, you can’t make someone else happy. They can only make themselves happy.”

Haack moved on from Hall by going Instagram official with new boyfriend Christopher LaRocca in February. The new couple went on a double date with Haack’s ex-husband Tarek and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa one week later, where LaRocca seemingly made a good first impression.

Posting a photo from the double date via Instagram, Tarek added, “First round of interviews ✅

LaRocca has since made a cameo appearance on the season finale of Haack’s The Flip Off earlier in March, appearing during a scene shot at the celebrity estate investor’s California home.

Anne Heche's Son Selling Her Assets Amid $4.1 Million in Claims

Anne Heche‘s son Homer Laffoon is attempting to sell the late star’s remaining assets in order to settle $4.1 million in claims against her estate.

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Laffoon, 23, submitted a status update on Heche’s assets to court on March 21, to confirm the estate “is not yet in a condition to be closed” due to outstanding legal claims. (In Touch was first to report the news.)

Heche died at age 53 in August 2022, less than one week after a Los Angeles car crash that left her severely burned. At the time of her death, Heche did not have a will.

Laffoon was named the general administrator of Heche’s estate in November 2022, and recently reported in court filings that he’d found $92,500 from his mom’s professional assets and personal property.

Anne Heche's Son Atlas, 14, Breaks Silence Nearly 6 Months After Her Death

Laffoon indicated in his March 21 filing that he’d found nearly $200,000 in total assets left behind by his mother, including funds in her bank account and a corporation used for her business projects. He cites residual income from her acting work and other personal property.

Laffoon moved “tangible personal property” to a “ secure storage facility” and contracted a “well-respected company” to help facilitate sale of those assets, including Heche’s piano. He also agreed to a book contract to release Heche’s memoir, Call Me Anne, in January 2023, but said “sales [were] not strong.”

Laffoon noted that he did recently receive authorization to start collecting Heche’s acting royalty payments and would continue looking for other business assets his mother may have had.

As a result, Laffoon stated that the estate faces insolvency because “the anticipated value of the combined inventories and appraisals” do not come close to reaching the $4.1 million in outstanding legal claims.

In November 2022, Lynne Mishele — the woman whose home Heche crashed into — filed a lawsuit against the actress’s estate, seeking $2 million in damages. Jennifer and John Durand, who owned the damaged property, have filed suit asking for at least $2 million to recoup losses.

Meanwhile, Heche’s ex-boyfriend, The Punisher star Thomas Jane, is seeking $149,106 that he claims to have loaned the star before her death.

Anne Heche’s Ex James Tupper Takes ‘Great Joy and Pride’ in Son Atlas

Laffoon subsequently wrote in his latest court filing, “Based on the anticipated value of the combined inventories and appraisals and the filed creditors claims, the estate is insolvent.”

Homer is Anne’s oldest son from her marriage to ex-husband, Coleman Laffoon, which lasted from 2001 to 2007. The Dancing With The Stars alum started dating actor James Tupper shortly after splitting from Coleman. Anne and James were together from 2007 to 2018, during which time they welcomed Atlas Tupper in March 2009.

Following Anne’s death in August 2022, Homer paid tribute to his late mother on behalf of himself and younger brother Atlas.

How ‘All Rise’ Honored Late Anne Heche's Final Appearance on the Show

“My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom,” Homer told People days after Heche’s death. “After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom. … Rest in Peace Mom. I love you.”

Coleman also honored his ex-wife via Instagram at the time, writing, “In the wake of Anne’s passing, I just wanted to say a few things. One, I loved her and I miss her, and I’m always going to. Two, Homer is OK. He’s grieving, of course, and it’s rough — it’s really rough, as probably anybody can imagine. But he’s surrounded by family and he’s strong and he’s gonna be OK.”

Kiss Star Gene Simmons Defends Charging Fans $12K to be His Assistant

Kiss star Gene Simmons defended charging lucky fans $12K to be his personal assistant and roadie for one day.

“I decided, ‘You know what, nobody’s ever done it. Why not open the idea to be my personal roadie for the day?” Simmons, 75, told The New York Post in an interview published Wednesday, March 25.

Earlier this month, Simmons started offering his fans the chance to pay $12,495 for the “Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience” on his solo tour.

This pricey VIP tour package includes visiting with Simmons on the morning of the concert to help set up his schedule for the day. After a meal with the rocker, the fan and one guest will ride to the venue with Simmons and then assist his road crew in setting up the show.

The Biggest Celebrity Name-Drops in Cher’s Book: Warren Beatty and More

Not all of the perks are so labor-intensive — the “guest roadie” will be invited to join Simmons on stage during the concert and receive an autographed bass used in a Kiss rehearsal.

While Simmons received backlash for the expensive VIP tour package, he said he came up with the idea because he used to be fascinated with the pre-show environment at rock shows.

“When I was a kid and went to see shows, I was always curious, ‘What’s it like when they’re in a hotel? What’s it like when the stage is set up? What’s it like being onstage when they’re performing and seeing the audience from the stage,’” he recalled.

Simmons promised fans will get their money’s worth despite the hefty price tag, though anyone interested should be aware only one person per show can take part in the “Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience.”

John Cena Surprises Teen Superfan Who Fled Ukraine With His Family

“You meet at the hotel where you have breakfast together or, you know, whatever floats your boat,” he said. “You ride with me to the gig. You can set up amplifiers and drums to your heart’s content. You’re onstage, right offstage to my right. You can video the crowds, whatever. And I pull you onstage to sing a song with me.”

For fans who aren’t quite ready to shell out $12K to lug around some amps, Simmons does offer a labor-free backstage meet-and-greet package, including a signed bass, for a mere $6,500.

Kiss have been criticized for their crass marketing tactics throughout their 52-year career as the self-proclaimed “Hottest Band in the World.” Simmons once personally marketed a Kiss Kasket for $3,900 in 2001.

“I love livin’, but this [casket] makes the alternative look pretty damn good,” Simmons was quoted as saying in advertisements for the branded coffins.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have sold their fans toilet paper, Kiss Kondoms, inflatable tongues, scratch-and-win lottery tickets and even Kiss-branded meat buns over the years. Perhaps the most ridiculous Kiss-branded merchandise was their officially-licensed air guitar strings — yes, bags of air.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Won't Tour Despite One-Off Performance

Kiss officially retired from touring following the conclusion of their End of the Road World Tour at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in December 2023. However, this wasn’t Kiss’ first retirement tour — as they’d previously promised to call it quits in 2001 with a 142-date trek, before resuming live shows only two years later with their World Domination Tour in 2003.

The current lineup of Kiss — Simmons on bass and vocals, Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar and vocals, Tommy Thayer on lead guitar and Eric Singer on drums — are next set to return to the stage as part of their KISS Army Storms Vegas convention at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in November.

The Gene Simmons Band were set to begin touring in April, but have since pushed off their live shows until May 2 in Peachtree City, Georgia. Seventeen previously-scheduled concerts will be moved to 2026.

Nelly Says He Married Ashanti So She Wouldn't Be a 'Baby Mama'

Nelly opened up about why he and Ashanti got married after dating on and off for 20 years.

“If we’re back like this, this must be what it’s supposed to be,” Nelly, 50, said on the Tuesday, March 26, episode of “The Bootleg Kev Podcast.”

The couple officially tied the knot in December 2023, after finding out that they were expecting their first child together. Their son, Kareem, was born in July 2024.

Nelly has two children — 31-year-old daughter Chanelle and 26-year-old son Cornell — from a prior relationship with Channetta Valentine. He also adopted her sister Jaqueline Donahue’s two children — now-27-year-old Sydney and 26-year-old Shawn— after her death from cancer in 2005.

Ashanti and Nelly Went 'Back and Forth' Over Son Kareem's Name

During his “Bootleg Kev Podcast” interview, Nelly admitted he wasn’t really considering marriage to Ashanti, 44, until he found she was pregnant in late 2023.

“We hadn’t talked about it yet,” he admitted. “We hadn’t talked about any of that yet. I was like, ‘Yo, let’s just knock this out because we’re going to be doing so much and everything’s going to be moving so fast.’ I didn’t want her to be a ‘baby mama.’”

Nelly and Ashanti originally dated from 2003 to 2013 after meeting at the Grammy Awards. The pair got back together a decade after their split and were married only a few months later in December 2023.

“I base any relationship on, ‘Does this person bring more good to your life than bad?’ Any relationship,” he told “The “Bootleg Kev Podcast.”

The “Hot in Herre” rapper remembered the couple realizing soon after reconnecting that “a lot of the s— [they] were b—-ing about” the first time around was unimportant.

“We were way more happier than we thought,” he joked.

Ashanti Was 'Watching TV With Boxers On' When Nelly Proposed

Ashanti surprised her husband at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17 when she presented him with the Landmark Award in honor of the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking 2000 album Country Grammar.

“[Nelly] created a movement, shaped the culture and made history doing it,” Ashanti said of her partner. “I’m so proud to honor Country Grammar and the talented guy who made it!”

Reflecting on that moment, Nelly confirmed to “The Bootleg Kev Podcast” that he truly had “no idea” Ashanti would be presenting his career-achievement award.

“I thought she was going to the seats because we had just left the dressing room. She was like, ‘Go kill ‘em, babe. Good luck,’” he recalled.

“Then, I’m backstage and my inner-ear [monitor] is in, and I’m like, ‘F—, I know that voice,” he went on. “Then, I looked to the screen and I’m like, ‘Wow!’ … It was dope, man, it was dope. That’s my baby, man. She did her thing.”

Ashanti Calls Pregnancy the ‘Greatest Feeling Ever’ in Bikini Photo

Nelly took the stage at the iHeart Music Awards in Las Vegas to perform a medley of his greatest hits, including “Hot in Herre,” “Air Force Ones, “Ride Wit Me” and “Country Grammar.” He was given the Landmark Award specifically in recognition of his impact on both music and culture over the past 25 years.

Ashanti’s surprise tribute to Nelly came seven months after the birth of their son Kareem in July 2024. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in August 2024, Ashanti said Nelly was responsible for picking their son’s name.

“His dad named him with a lot of pride,” she confirmed. “We were going back and forth for a long time on his name and he was very adamant. He was like, ‘This is what I want, I love this.’”

Later that month, Ashanti wrote via Instagram that she was “so proud” of her postpartum body four weeks into motherhood.

“Funny how life’s plans aren’t … always on time,” she joked in reference to her 2001 hit, “Always on Time,” with Ja Rule. “I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings.”

Michael Caine and Mia Farrow Sex Scene Was Interrupted By Her Ex-Husband

Awkward! Michael Caine revealed he was interrupted by costar Mia Farrow’s ex-husband André Previn while filming a sex scene for 1986’s Hannah and Her Sisters.

“I remember one embarrassing moment when I was doing a love scene in bed with Mia — and I look up and there’s her ex-husband, André Previn,” Caine, 92, recalls in his new memoir Don’t Look Back, You’ll Trip Over, released on Tuesday, March 25. “I thought, bloody hell this is going to be tricky.”

The late Previn was visiting the set when the uncomfortable moment happened.

Farrow, 80, was married to the pianist and composer from 1970 to 1979, following her brief two-year marriage to Frank Sinatra in the 1960s. By the time Farrow was making Hannah and Her Sisters, she was in a long-term relationship with the film’s director, Woody Allen. This meant Previn walked in on Farrow’s then-boyfriend, Allen, filming her in a sex scene with another world-famous movie star, Caine.

LOL! Ronan Farrow Jokes About Frank Sinatra Baby Daddy Story

According to Entertainment Weekly, Caine writes that he was initially nervous that Previn’s appearance would impact the atmosphere on the Hannah and Her Sisters set. However, Caine insists that “it was fine” in the end and he was able to carry on shooting the scene with Farrow without much distraction.

Caine won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Hannah and Her Sisters, but infamously wasn’t able to accept in person because he was working on the notorious box office bomb, Jaws: The Revenge.

Michael Caine Reveals Mia Farrow Sex Scene Was Interrupted By Her Ex Husband 925
Mike Marsland/WireImage

The legendary actor remembered that period in his life in his previous autobiography, 1992’s What’s It All About?, as “the time when [he] won an Oscar, paid for a house and had a great holiday.”

In a new surprising revelation, Caine takes credit for setting up Farrow and Allen, now 89, in his 2025 memoir. The English actor and his wife, Shakira Baksh, would frequently run into the director at Allen’s favorite New York bar and restaurant Elaine’s – and they were once joined by Farrow for a night out.

“In New York one evening, [Farrow] said to me, ‘Do you know Woody Allen?'” he writes. “I said, ‘Yes, as a matter of fact, we do know him. Not very well, but he’s often in Elaine’s. He always seems to come in around the same time in the evening as we’re there.’ So she said, ‘Well, if you’re ever there and you see Woody Allen at another table, invite me along to dinner.’ And so I did. Which is how they really met.”

Caine later noticed that “Woody and Mia didn’t get on so well” by the time they were making Hannah and Her Sisters in 1985.

“You could see the tensions, even then,” he acknowledges. “But I was obviously focused on the part. I was never close enough to them to know that it was all going to end so horribly. Very sad.”

Woody Allen Is ‘Willing’ to Reconnect With Dylan and Ronan Farrow

Farrow and Allen were in a relationship for 12 years and made 13 movies together before the Rosemary’s Baby actress discovered he had an affair with her 21-year-old adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.

Allen and Farrow’s 1992 split sparked a huge scandal, as she accused the filmmaker of abusing their adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow. Allen has always strenuously denied those allegations.

The 2021 Emmy-nominated HBO documentary series Allen v. Farrow examined the situation in interviews with Farrow, daughter Dylan, now 39, and son Ronan Farrow. Dylan recounted her accusations of being sexually abused at age 7 by her father during his custody battle with Farrow.

Allen later told CBS News at that time that “nothing that [he] ever did with Dylan in [his] life could be misconstrued” as sexual abuse.

“I never was accused of anything in my life. [Then] I’m suddenly going to drive up in the middle of a contentious custody fight at Mia’s country home [with] a 7-year-old girl. It just — on the surface, I didn’t think it required any investigation, even,” Allen insisted.

Allen has been married to Soon-Yi since 1997, and they share two daughters — 26-year-old Bechet and 25-year-old Manzie.
