Nicole Kidman went full method actress while accepting an award for Babygirl — and fans couldn’t look away.
“I just want to say anyone who wants to join me, please, I’m going to raise a glass of milk to all of the baby girls in the room,” Kidman, 57, told the audience on Tuesday, January 7, while accepting the award for Best Actress at the National Board of Review Gala in New York City.
The actress proceeded to chug the glass of milk while standing at the podium. When she finished, she said, “Good girl,” paying homage to one of Babygirl’s most iconic scenes.
Kidman flashed a coy smirk after downing the beverage, which took the actress no more than a few seconds. She then blew a kiss to her fans as the crowd cheered and before she walked off stage.
The memorable milk moment is a nod to Kidman’s character in the film, Romy, who is the seemingly perfect mom and wife at home and a total boss at work, serving as the CEO of her company. After getting tired of her idyllic life, Romy has a torrid affair with her much younger intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson).
In one memorable scene, Romy sits at a bar with friends and coworkers when Samuel sends her a glass of milk from across the room. The gesture takes her aback, but eventually Romy picks up the cup and drinks every drop while keeping her gaze fixed on Samuel.
The pair, who are at the start of their affair, exchange intense and steamy looks as Romy finishes the milk and wipes away the residue from her lip.
Samuel later walks past Romy and whispers, “Good girl.”
The sexy and surprising scene was inspired by writer, director and coproducer Halina Reijn’s real-life experience.
“I went to a bar, and I ordered something boring like a Diet Coke because I didn’t drink at that time because I was a control freak. There was this young Belgian actor — I can’t say who it is — but he was famous,” Reijn told IndieWire in December 2024. “I knew of him. I’d never spoken to him. He was at least 15 years younger than I, and he ordered me a glass of milk.”
She recalled thinking it was an “incredible, hot thing to do and so courageous,” so she decided to “reward him by drinking the whole thing.”
Reijn confessed that she did get “a little nauseated” after she finished the glass, but that didn’t stop it from being “one of the most arousing moments of my life.”
Babygirl’s raunchy story line has been a topic of conversation since its release last month. During the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, host Nikki Glaser couldn’t help but joke about the sexual nature of the movie.
“Nicole Kidman is here, oh my gosh. Nominated for Babygirl,” Glaser, 40, said during her opening monologue. “Oh my gosh, I loved that movie. I gave it two fingers up.”
Kidman was bent over with laughter at her table when the cameras panned to her and husband Keith Urban. Sarah Paulson, who was sitting behind her, was visibly shocked by the joke, as were many fans.
Glaser then gave Urban, 57, a shout-out, saying, “Thank you to Keith Urban for playing the guitar so much that she wants to leave and make 18 movies a year. Keep strumming you, kooky koala.”
After a season of changes, Chicago P.D. is gearing up for even more drama, romance and crime solving action during the back half of season 12.
“We have quite a lot coming with our new deputy chief character, Shawn Hatosy’s Reid,” Chicago P.D. showrunner Gwen Sigan exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 7. “We saw in the midseason finale, he kind of makes this statement to Voight like, ‘We’re gonna be friends,’ but it’s clearly a friendship of ownership and, like, leverage.”
Sigan said it’s been “really fun to write” the face-off between Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Hatosy), who joined the cast this season, and Intelligence Unit leader Hank Voight (Jason Beghe).
She teased that the pair’s leadership styles “changes the dynamics quite a lot in the unit” moving forward.
Sigan noted that the second half of the season will also finally show Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) getting married after their third engagement during season 11.
The showrunner told Us that Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) will continue to have an “existential crisis and a crisis of faith” in the upcoming episode, adding that Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) will get “some romance” once again.
“We’ve got a little bit of everything,” Sigan said. “Things will keep changing and evolving for the unit for sure.”
Scroll down for everything Us learned from Chicago P.D.’s showrunner about the remainder of season 12:
Cook’s Story Will Come to Light
After joining the Intelligence Unit earlier this season, fans will finally get a better picture of who Kiana Cook (Toya Turner) is and where she comes from.
“Episode 9 is a Cook episode,” Sigan told Us, referring to the midseason premiere, which airs on Wednesday, January 8. “You’re getting to meet a lot of her family members actually in this episode, which is fun. And you’re getting to learn about her past and her backgrounds and the different worlds that she belongs to and how vastly different those are from each other.”
Sigan said that Cook’s past will reveal why she is so focused on being present and doing “the job well.” She teased that the show’s return is an “action ride” for Cook and the remainder of the season will give more “background on her and who she is and why she’s really unique for the unit.”
Chief Reid Goes Toe to Toe With Voight
Throughout season 12, Reid has been aware of everything Voight’s team is doing — the good and the bad — and has looked the other way. However, Sigan told Us that his choice not to reprimand the team will come at a price.
“He’s a character that plays so many of his cards so close to the vest. And it’s difficult for Voight to really read him,” the showrunner said of Reid, noting, “We’ve always seen Voight kind of be a bit of the all-knowing. So to have it be somebody else is really fun.”
She called Reid a “fun house mirror to Voight,” meaning that the chief “operates in a way that Voight used to” but is “enhanced and exaggerated.”
“We’ll get to learn more and more about him and his motivations throughout the season,” Sigan teased. “But it’s definitely a cat and mouse game and … it’s certainly a friendship that has a lot of strings attached.”
Burgess Is Doing It Her Way
In season 12, episode 6, Burgess made detective, and viewers will see her in action in the second half of the season.
“There’s this really easy transition of her just taking that leadership role of kind of being the one that sort of leads the charge,” Sigan explained. “You’ll see her giving commands more often and certainly being a bit, perhaps, overwhelmed or taken aback by just how much [paperwork and] more responsibility [she has].”
While Burgess will have a lot to juggle, she finds her “groove” and a style of leadership that Sigan said is “so different” than that of past detectives Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer).
“It feels like her own thing, which is much more, ‘I’m still your peer, but I am gonna give you orders now. I’m gonna now direct a bit more,’” Sigan continued. “Everybody, I think, is so supportive and just falling into those roles, too.”
Torres Is ‘Not Great’
During the midseason finale, which aired in November 2024, Torres’ past affair with informant Gloria Perez (Yara Martinez) came to light when she was found running a drug business in Chicago. Gloria died after helping the Intelligence Unit, and much to his surprise, Torres wasn’t reprimanded by the chief for his misconduct.
Torres, however, is not doing “great” when the show returns. “It triggered a lot for him,” Sigan said of the affair and Gloria’s death, noting that Torres’ background will continue to be explored.
“[We reveal] why he was ever attracted to this woman and why he got in this affair and sort of the trauma that leads all the way back to his childhood,” she told Us. “And then also how present events sort of trigger a bit of a crisis of faith.”
Atwater’s Love Story Isn’t Over
Atwater agreed to a no-strings-attached relationship with Valeria “Val” Soto (Natalee Linez) during season 12, episode 3, and according to Sigan, that arrangement might change when Val returns in upcoming episodes.
“The nice thing about that relationship was the way it starts is almost this, like, ‘We’re gonna do something for the pair of us that’s just for us,’” she said. “But then, obviously, as time has gone on, how has that morphed and grown?”
The showrunner explained that Atwater will have to “decide is this just a casual thing that we clearly both need in our lives or is it something more?”
Sigan added: “We get to explore the whys behind it for the pair of them and maybe why they’re not wanting something very serious. Is that a defense mechanism or is that because of the way they built up their lives?” She hinted the dynamic will become “more emotional and deeper.”
Burzek Will Get Hitched
Squerciati previously told Us that she wants “the white dress moment” for Burgess when she finally marries Ruzek. Flueger, however, told Us that he thinks their style is more “courthouse” wedding.
Sigan revealed that the onscreen nuptials are a “middle ground” between the two. “It’s been such a long time coming and they have this family — they have [daughter] Mikayla [and] she wants to have her say, and I think she wants a party,” Sigan told Us on Tuesday. “So it, to me, is going to be sort of a middle ground of finding what works for the both of them that isn’t a courthouse wedding, that they can have everyone they love there.”
She noted it should also be a “simple” and “grounded affair,” but the scenes have not been filmed yet. “I don’t know all the details,” Sigan confessed, adding that she “could see” Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) officiating.
Chicago P.D. airs on NBC Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
Alec Baldwin is the oldest and most known of the siblings, having been nominated for an Oscar as well as winning three Emmys and three Golden Globes. His younger brothers, Daniel Baldwin, William “Billy” Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin, have all followed in his footsteps and made a name for themselves as actors.
The four brothers — who also have two sisters, Elizabeth Keuchler and Jane Sasso — have been equally in awe of their successes over the years. In 2008, they all had their own respective TV hits: Alec starred on 30 Rock, Billy was on Dirty Sexy Money and Stephen and Daniel appeared on reality shows Celebrity Apprentice and Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, respectively.
“We’re still kind of pinching ourselves,” Stephen told Vanity Fair in 2012. “From my perspective, we’re just four dumb jocks from Long Island.”
Scroll down to meet the entire Baldwin family — including the brothers’ wives and children:
Alexander and Carol Baldwin
The Baldwin brothers’ parents, Alexander and Carol Baldwin, tied the knot in 1954 after meeting as students at Syracuse University. They welcomed six children, two daughters and four sons, raising them in Long Island, New York.
Their father, Alexander, died in 1983 at the age of 55. Their mother, Carol, who ran the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Fund, died in May 2022. She was 92.
Elizabeth Keuchler
Elizabeth is the eldest of the Baldwin children, born in October 1995. She is married to Charles Keuchler and they share six children.
Alec Baldwin
Alec is the second oldest Baldwin child. He was born in April 1958. Alec is best known for his roles on The Doctors, Knots Landing, Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. His biggest movie credits include Beetlejuice, It’s Complicated, Still Alice and the Boss Baby franchise.
Alec was married to Kim Basinger from 1993 to 2002. The exes share one daughter, Ireland, who was born in October 1995, and one granddaughter, Holland, born in May 2023.
Following their divorce, Alec found love again with wife Hilaria Baldwin, whom he wed in 2012.
Alec and Hilaria — who are set to star in their own TLC reality series Spellbound — share seven children. They welcomed Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, Maria and Illaria, in August 2013, June 2015, September 2016, May 2018, September 2020, February 2021 and September 2022, respectively. (Maria was born via surrogate.)
Alec made headlines in 2021 when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed on the set of his film Rust. Alec, who was holding the prop gun when it went off, was charged in January 2024 with involuntary manslaughter. He has remained adamant that he is innocent, and the charges were dropped in December 2024.
Daniel Baldwin
The third-oldest Baldwin was born in October 1960. He is an actor, producer and director. Daniel’s biggest credits include starring on Sydney, Homicide: Life on the Street and having a recurring role on Cold Case. He also appeared in Homicide: The Movie and Enchantress.
Daniel has been married multiple times. He and first wife, Cheryl Baldwin, share daughter Kahlea, born in 1984. Daniel and second wife, Elizabeth Baldwin, split in 1996 after six years of marriage. They share one daughter, Alexandra, who was born in 1994.
He moved on with Homicide: Life on the Street costar Isabella Hoffman. The pair, who dated from the mid-90s to early ‘00s, share son Atticus, born in 1996.
The actor married Joanne Baldwin in 2007. The couple welcomed daughters Avis and Finley in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Daniel and Joanne split in 2011 and after briefly reconciling she filed for divorce in 2012.
Daniel got engaged to Robin Sue Hertz Hempel in 2014. The pair called off their engagement in 2022. Daniel married D’Asia Bellamy in 2022 and they welcomed their son, William “Bat” in 2023.
Billy Baldwin
Fourth in line, Billy was born in February 1963. He got his start as a model later becoming an actor with his role coming in 1989’s TV movie The Preppie Murder. He has since starred on Dirty Sexy Money, Gossip Girl and Northern Rescue and appeared in films such as Silver, Primary Suspect and War of the Worlds: Extinction.
Billy has been married to Chynna Phillips since 1995. His spouse is best known for being one third of the musical group Wilson Phillips, which also includes sisters Carnie and Wendy Wilson. Chynna is also the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas fame.
Billy and Chynna share three children: daughters Jameson and Brooke and son Vance. They welcomed Jameson in 2000, Vance in 2001 and Brooke in 2004.
Jane Sasso
Jane is the second youngest in the family, born in January 1965. She is married to Randy Sasso and they share two children. Like her older sister, Jane mainly stays out of the public eye.
Stephen Baldwin
Stephen is the youngest of the Baldwins. He was born in May 1966. He followed in all of his brothers’ footsteps by making his acting debut in 1986. He is best known for starring on The Young Riders and Nova Vita and appearing in The Usual Suspects and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. He was part of The Apprentice during seasons 7 and 13 and in January 2025 fans can see him competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
Stephen has been married to Kennya Baldwin since 1990. His wife is a Brazilian-born graphic designer. The couple share two daughters: Alaia and Hailey, born in 1993 and 1996, respectively. They also have two grandchildren, Iris, born in 2020, and Jack, born in 2024.
Ireland Baldwin
Ireland was born in October 1995 to Alec and then-wife Basinger. The model and actress followed in her parents’ footsteps starring in 2017’s Campus Caller and 2020’s A Dark Foe. Over the years, Ireland has been vocal about her ups and downs with her father, and she’s even roasted him on TV several times. Ireland briefly ran a restaurant in Oregon, which closed in late 2023.
Ireland announced in December 2022 that she and boyfriend RAC (real name André Allen Anjos) were expecting their first baby together. They welcomed daughter Holland in May 2023.
Alaia Aronow
Stephen’s eldest daughter was born in January 1993. She is a model and advocate who works to raise awareness about endometriosis, which is a medical condition that affects the reproductive system.
Alaia married producer Andrew Aronow in September 2017. The couple share one daughter, Iris, who was born in August 2020.
Hailey Bieber
Stephen’s youngest daughter, Hailey, was born in November 1996. She is a model who rose to fame in 2014 with her first commercial campaign and made her runway debut that October for Topshop. In 2022, she launched her beauty brand Rhode.
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have been vocal about their efforts to keep the spark in their relationship alive while raising three children.
The couple met while working on 2004’s Fantastic Four, which Alba starred in as Susan Storm and Warren was a production assistant. After dating for nearly four years, the duo tied the knot in May 2008.
Warren cofounder reflected on their spur-of-the-moment decision to get hitched in 2019 while honoring his wife on their 11-year anniversary. He noted that the choice to get married came one month before they welcomed their first child, daughter Honor, in June 2008.
“Prior to that day, neither of us thought marriage was important … it felt outdated and we weren’t going to fall for an antiquated social construction,” Warren wrote via Instagram in May 2019 of the last-minute nuptials. “But something changed in us that morning.”
Warren — the pair also share daughter Haven and son Hayes, born in 2011 and 2017, respectively — added that their quick wedding was just the right fit for them as a family.
“11 years and 3 kids later, we’re still learning, growing, giggling and loving,” he added. “Here’s to a lifetime of pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves and catching each other when we fall.”
In January 2025, news broke that Alba and Warren called it quits after 16 years of marriage.

Joe Miñoso warned that his Chicago Fire character, Joe Cruz, “will not be unscathed” after his run-in with Junior in the show’s midseason premiere.
“He’s not really thinking much about himself,” Miñoso, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 7, of Cruz’s mental state going into the next two episodes. “I think he’s more concerned about his brother, and especially his wife and kids, which is something that did not exist when this problem first reared its ugly head.”
During season 1 of Chicago Fire, Cruz left a gang leader named Flaco to die in a fire. The incident came back to haunt the firefighter during the season 12 midseason finale, which aired in November 2024, when Cruz found a bullet urn in his locker. The pendant was full of cremated remains.
Cruz soon learned that Flaco’s cousin, Junior (Richard Cabral), was out of jail and knew what he did. When the show picks up on Wednesday, January 8, Cruz will come face-to-face with Junior and must decide how to keep himself — and his brother, Leon (Jeff Lima), who was previously pulled in by the gang — safe.
“Junior definitely wants Cruz’s help in some nefarious activities,” Miñoso revealed, noting that Cruz has to “make a decision as to whether or not he wants to get himself involved in that.”
The actor teased that the “stakes are so much higher” this time around because Cruz is focused on finding a solution that gets the “problem away from [his] family.”
Miñoso said that viewers will see Cruz “fighting” to do just that in Wednesday’s episode, with the “ramifications” of his choices coming to light one week later.
The One Chicago star noted that despite Cruz’s best efforts to be his own hero, he will have help from both his biological brother and his brothers at Firehouse 51.
“For the first time, you’re gonna see Cruz lean on Leon,” Miñoso explained. “There’s been so much of Cruz sort of holding up and being the big shoulders in that relationship. I think we’re gonna see a little bit of a role reversal there when it comes to those two brothers.”
Leon won’t be the only one who has Cruz’s back moving forward. His boss Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will insert himself into the mess as well.
“I will say that something goes down that makes it impossible to avoid — or not notice — that something’s going on with Cruz,” Miñoso told Us. “And especially since our good friend Severide is so incredibly intuitive and constantly sniffing around for stuff.”
He said that the fear of Cruz’s secret coming to light is going to affect his “work as a firefighter on the job” and his “relationship between him and some of the squad members,” which is where Severide comes into play.
Miñoso noted that Cruz is “really good at feeling very guilty about letting people down” and Severide is at the top of his list of people he doesn’t want to disappoint. (In recent seasons, Severide has named Cruz acting lieutenant when he’s out on arson cases.)
“He does not want to ruin that level of responsibility,” the actor said, confessing, “It’s gonna be a hard road to navigate for Cruz, especially with Severide and [Dermot Mulroney‘s character Chief] Pascal [watching].”
Miñoso hinted that the drama with Junior will be his first real introduction to the new chief on a personal level, which might not be a good thing.
“[This] is a really bad first impression,” he said. “So we’re hoping that we can figure out a way to get to a better place with Pascal after the end of this whole story line.”
During the Tuesday, January 7, episode of RHOBH, Garcelle, 58, reflected on her past relationships while getting ready to go to the Los Angeles hotspot the Viper Room in celebration of castmate Erika Jayne.
“Erika’s being honored by the GLAAD Association and it’s at the Viper Room,” Garcelle said while getting her makeup done. “And was it owned by Johnny Depp?”
Once her makeup artist confirmed Depp’s previous ownership, Garcelle dropped a romance bombshell. (Depp sold his stake in the iconic club in 2004 as part of a lawsuit settlement involving alleged mismanagement.)
“I was in Miami at a club and yeah, made out with Johnny,” she confessed. “Isn’t that crazy?”
Garcelle didn’t go into any more detail about the alleged kiss with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 61, but she was right about his connection to The Viper Room.
Depp was one of the original owners of the music venue and nightclub when it opened in 1993 alongside his 21 Jump Street costar Sal Jenco. The club is now owned by James Cooper and Silver Creek Development.
Depp isn’t the first A-list star that Garcelle has claimed to have hooked up with over the years. During the December 3, 2024, episode of RHOBH, Garcelle revealed the “biggest star” she’d been on a date with, listing Eddie Murphy, Will Smith and Sean Penn.
“Oh, I didn’t know about Sean Penn,” Erika, 53, replied, before revealing in her confessional that she would’ve made a few different choices if those were her past suitors.
Erika wondered, “Well, I just want to know if Garcelle dated Eddie Murphy, Sean Penn and Will Smith, why did she marry the man she married? Why not marry one of them, you know? I mean, that’s what I would have done.”
Garcelle previously talked about her fling with Smith, 56, during a 2020 episode of the Bravo series when the actor’s ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, made a cameo. (Smith and Zampino, 57, split in 1995 and he later wed Jada Pinkett-Smith.)
“He was hot,” Garcelle said of Smith at the time. “He was a bachelor, I was single, you know, it happens in Hollywood.”
One famous face she didn’t romance was Jamie Foxx, her costar on The Jamie Foxx Show from 1996 to 2001. The twosome later reunited on screen for 2013’s White House Down.
“I think me and you should have been together,” Foxx, 57, told Garcelle during a September 2020 episode of her “Going to Bed With Garcelle” podcast.
He teased that every time he sees Garcelle with one of her boyfriends he says, “Damn, I f—ed up!”
Outside of her Hollywood hookups, Garcelle had long-term relationships with ex-husbands Daniel Saunders and Mike Nilon. Garcelle was married to Saunders — with whom she shares 33-year-old son Oliver — from 1991 to 2000.
Garcelle was married to talent agent Nilon for nearly 10 years before she discovered he was unfaithful and they split in 2011. The exes share twin sons Jax and Jaid, 17.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
The California native broke into the entertainment industry in 2005 and instantly became a staple on the kids’ network with roles on both Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and Zoey 101.
As he continued to gain fame, Butler stayed close to his inner circle, which includes Ashley Tisdale. The duo met when Butler was a teenager — well before he dated Tisdale’s other BFF Vanessa Hudgens — and went on to costar in 2011’s Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.
The pair’s friendship, however, has confused some fans after Butler and Hudgens called it quits in late 2019 after more than eight years of dating.
Butler, for his part, showed that there are no hard feelings between him and Hudgens when he revealed in April 2022 that Hudgens inspired him to take on the role of Elvis Presley for the film Elvis, which premiered that summer.
Scroll down to see Butler’s ups and downs throughout his career:
Multiple outlets including People and TMZ reported the news on Tuesday, January 7. TMZ reported that they called it quits at the end of 2024 and Butler was absent from Gerber’s recent family vacation.
The Elvis actor, 33, was first linked to Gerber, 23, in December 2021 after they were seen attending a yoga class together. Us Weekly confirmed at the time they were “low-key dating” after their respective splits from Vanessa Hudgens and Jacob Elordi.
Two months later, Butler and Gerber were photographed in Paris on Valentine’s Day, cuddled up under an umbrella in the rain.
It wasn’t until the 2022 Met Gala that May that the pair stepped out for their first red carpet as a couple — where they celebrated the Gilded Age theme in style. Gerber wore a metallic Alexander McQueen gown while her then-boyfriend donned a black Prada suit.
Butler and Gerber continued to grow close throughout 2022 and the Dune 2 actor even joined his girlfriend’s family for a new-New Year’s getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, that December.
The following year, the duo became more visible with their romance. Gerber joined Butler in January 2023 for several Golden Globes afterparties after he took home the trophy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama.
Gerber opted to skip the Academy Awards in March 2023, but she reunited with Butler that evening to attend the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles. The following month, the twosome later posed on the Time100 Gala red carpet in New York City.
“Although Austin and Kaia are both in the public eye, they’re really down to earth and have a very secure relationship,” the insider said in September 2023, noting that the “time has flown by” since they first hooked up.
The source added that Kaia’s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, approved of the relationship. “Kaia loves that her family gets along so well with Austin,” the insider claimed. “He’s joined them on several vacations and he’s definitely a part of the family.”
In June 2024, Kaia was once again by Butler’s side as he celebrated the Los Angeles premiere of The Bikeriders. In an Instagram video shared by Entertainment Weekly, Butler gave Kaia a kiss while standing outside the TCL Chinese Theatre.
Butler told Access Hollywood at the time that Kaia not only “approves” of the cropped blazer and double-pleated trousers that he wore for the premiere, but she actually picked out his red carpet ensemble.
The twosome’s summertime appearance was one of the rare moments they were seen together in 2024. After filming multiple projects throughout the year, Kaia walked the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala red carpet alone in October 2024.
The following month, the model was spotted at the LACMA Art+Film Gala — also solo. She also stepped out for Next Gen 2024 party hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Instagram in November 2024 without Butler.
Butler, meanwhile, attended the SFFILM Awards Night in San Francisco last month by himself.
Steven Weber assured Chicago Med fans that they “will certainly not be disappointed” after the show’s midseason return — but his character, Dr. Dean Archer, still has a lot to sort out.
“I have to give props to the writers for really crafting a true cliffhanger, almost a literal one,” Weber, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 7, while promoting Chicago Med’s first episode back from hiatus.
He teased, “If you love S. Epatha Merkerson — and who doesn’t? — you won’t be disappointed at what she delivers and what the show delivers.”
The last time viewers saw Weber’s Dr. Archer he was sliding his resignation letter under Sharon Goodwin’s (Merkerson) door while, unbeknownst to him, she was being held captive by her season 10 stalker.
In the final moments of the midseason finale, which aired in November 2024, a bloodied Goodwin broke free from her office and ran toward Archer, who noticed her just as the elevator doors shut.
When Chicago Med returns on Wednesday, January 8, Weber said Archer will have a lot on his proverbial plate after what he just witnessed.
“Because of his background in the Navy and the stuff he did during the war … his kind of instinct to try to take action kicks in,” the actor explained, noting that the surgeon has “always had kinda emotional difficulties getting close to people, but he feels a real bond with this person, this Sharon Goodwin.”
That connection to his boss makes Archer stop thinking and just act. “He’s also moved and scared and frightened for her in ways that [weren’t] tested during his military service,” Weber said. “It’s literally life and death.”
While Archer decided to leave Chicago Med’s Emergency Department (ED) after butting heads with newbie Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos), Weber said he can’t “just sit down or sit on his hands” after seeing Goodwin badly wounded.
“He’s gonna take action. If we know Archer, we know that he’s going to do his best [to save her],” he continued.
While Weber played coy about Goodwin’s fate — viewers last saw her stabbed and subsequently bleeding out — he said the attack will show “how emotionally bonded everybody in the ED is.” (He also hinted that “justice” for Goodwin and “consequences” for the stalker’s actions is “coming.”)
“They’re affected by the news that one of their own has been so hurt and so impacted, and everybody begins to take stock in themselves,” he shared, revealing that the doctors and nurses will “spring into action even if they’re overwhelmed by emotion.”
Once the dust settles, Archer will have to decide what’s next for him and his career. “I’m talking to you now, so clearly I haven’t been fired,” Weber teased.
Weber noted that Archer remaining on staff at the ED will continue to be explored throughout the remainder of the season.
“This was a real jolt to him,” he explained. “His emotional arc in these four seasons that I’ve been playing him has been understanding the need for emotional connection to his son, to his family, and to his coworkers, and [trying] to shed a lot of the defensiveness that he had probably before his active duty. So he’s got to figure out what this jolt means to him as a person of a certain age, a certain time of life.”
Archer will have to ask himself, “Should he stay on? Should he move on? What’s important?” Weber said, reiterating, “This incident really affects him, and it affects him emotionally down the line.”
Although Archer will be reevaluating his life choices, Weber told Us that romance isn’t at the top of his priority list after recently becoming single again.
“I don’t think he’s good at dating. He’s embraced his kind of isolation in a sense. But it can get lonesome,” he confessed. “He’s had a history of not liking himself, so he kind of takes that on and there will be some surprises going forward that address that. In ways that the audience might find both shocking and satisfying.”
Chicago Med returns on NBC Wednesday, January 8, at 8 p.m. ET.

It’s been more than 20 years since Al Roker underwent gastric bypass surgery, but he still remembers what his father told him that inspired his weight loss journey.
“To be honest, I struggled with my weight for most of my adult life,” Roker, 70, told People in an interview published on Monday, January 6. “And my dad had gotten very ill, and at one point toward the end, he made me promise that I was going to get in shape.”
The promise and his father’s blunt words changed the Today show correspondent’s life forever.
“He said, point-blank, ‘Look, we both know I’m not going to be here to help you raise your kids. You’ve got to be here for your children,’” Roker recalled of his father’s final warning. “And that really stuck with me, and that led me to do a gastric bypass.”
Roker underwent gastric bypass surgery in March 2002, at the time weighing 340 pounds. By the end of that year, he had lost 100 pounds.
The beloved Today cohost revealed in his 2013 memoir, Never Goin’ Back: Winning the Weight Loss Battle for Good, that he gained 40 pounds after the death of his mother in 2011. However, he managed to slim down to 205 pounds by 2012.
“I used to use travel as an excuse to eat poorly. Now I don’t go anywhere without my scale; I literally pack it with me,” Roker told Parade in December 2012. “It gives me permission to have a bad day, or even just a bad moment. In the old days it was, ‘Well, I’ve blown it; I may as well just go hog wild.’ Now it’s [like], ‘OK, I made a mistake, let’s get back on the wagon.’”
Twenty years after the surgery, Roker is still celebrating his health journey. He shared a photo of his 54-size Levi jeans that he wore when he arrived at the hospital, writing via Instagram in March 2022, “It’s still a struggle but I’m never going back.”
The weatherman, who says he now tries to stay around the 190-pound mark, revealed, “I have setbacks and struggle every day, but I never forget how far I’ve come.”
Roker’s fitness journey has also been thwarted at times because of other health struggles. In September 2020, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After undergoing surgery to remove his prostate, lymph nodes and some surrounding tissue, Roker was considered cancer-free. His Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) levels dropped below 1 as a result of the surgery, which means it’s technically undetectable.
Two years later, Roker had another health scare that resulted in him missing three weeks of work on the Today show. He explained in November 2022 that he was admitted to the hospital for a blood clot in his leg. According to a social media post shared by Roker at the time, “some clots” were sent into his lungs.
Roker ultimately needed surgery to fix the blood clots and was readmitted to the hospital several days later as a result of complications. He later shared that the surgeons found two bleeding ulcers and removed his gallbladder.
He remained at home, recovering through the end of 2022. Roker returned to the NBC broadcast in January 2023.
“Al’s recent hospitalization was very scary. [He] counts himself so lucky to have gotten speedy treatment and knows that ultimately, he’s lucky to be alive,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “He’s been so brave throughout this, never complaining or feeling overly sorry for himself, always wanting to know how others are doing even when he’s at his lowest. Right now, he’s following all the doctors’ advice.”
Since his most recent health scare, Roker has refocused on his wellness journey. This month he became the Chief Motivation Officer for the Start Today fitness app, produced by the Today show.
The app allows followers to get meal plans, daily motivation tips, fitness challenges and more wellness assistance in one place.
Teddi Mellencamp detailed her recent struggles with anxiety to help others battling ups and downs with mental health.
“Woke up today at 3 a.m. with raging anxiety,” Mellencamp, 43, wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, January 6.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star noted she wasn’t sharing the update for “pity,” but rather to connect with “anyone else who woke” with any of the same symptoms.
Mellencamp proceeded to outline symptoms of anxiety disorders including “trouble concentrating or making decisions” and “feeling irritable, tense or restless.”
“Experiencing nausea or abdominal distress. Having heart palpitations. Sweating, trembling or shaking,” she listed as additional experiences someone may encounter while battling anxiety. “Trouble sleeping. Having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom.”
The reality star — who is currently navigating her divorce from estranged husband Edwin Arroyave — went on to tell her followers what to do to counteract an anxiety episode.
“We are OK, and we will get over this hump,” she wrote. Mellencamp then outlined her seven steps to overcome the symptoms, including mediating and making gratitude lists.
“I am grateful for my health, my kids, that I go back to work together, people who make me laugh and understand anxiety isn’t a choice,” she shared.
No. 3 on her list is working out “in some capacity” which is followed by doing a cold plunge. “Being able to hug someone I love. [Getting] fresh air. Setting boundaries,” rounded out her self-help tips.
Mellencamp also gave her All in My Teddi team, which is her accountability coaching company, praise for “holding me accountable to doing the above” before showing her followers some of her steps in action.
Mellencamp kicked off her Monday by running on the treadmill and gave her therapist a shout-out via her Instagram Story. She then documented doing a cold plunge. “Taking action,” she wrote alongside the clip.
“Here we go. We are back at it. Back to work,” Mellencamp said in a separate social media video while getting ready to tape a new episode of “Two T’s in a Pod” podcast with Tamra Judge after a two-week break. “It’s been a minute.”
Mellencamp’s vulnerable post about her anxiety comes two months after she announced in November 2024 that she and Arroyave, 47, were getting divorced after 13 years of marriage.
She initially filed for sole physical and legal custody of the pair’s three children — Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4 — but changed her petition later that month. Mellencamp is now asking the court for joint physical and legal custody.
Arroyave, who is also the father of daughter Isabella from a previous relationship, asked for joint legal and physical custody of his and Mellencamp’s children when he submitted his own filing in November 2024.
Although a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the exes “wanted to keep this amicable for the children,” their split has been messy.
Mellencamp raised eyebrows shortly after filing for divorce when news broke that she had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, prior to the breakup.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” an insider exclusively told Us in November 2024, claiming that Mellencamp and Arroyave were both unfaithful during their marriage.
The source claimed that this was “the first and only time” Mellencamp “strayed outside the marriage.”
A second insider alleged that Arroyave “insists he has not had an affair since” he cheated on Mellencamp eight years prior, claiming he has been “focused on family and faith,” following his infidelity.
Mellencamp, meanwhile, publicly addressed her divorce and hinted at the rumors about her affair during an episode of podcast that same month. “I’m not going to confirm or deny anything,” she said at the time.
Last month, Mellencamp gave a little more insight into her current living situation, revealing on an episode of “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast that she is living part-time with Kyle Richards.
“Some places you can just file for divorce … in California, there’s a six-month cooling-off period,” she told the listeners during the December 2024 episode. “During that six months, you can do a multitude of things. The way I learned about nesting was one of my good girlfriends, she’s a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”
Mellencamp said that was what she and Arroyave agreed upon so they can “be there for sporting events” and other milestones. “We’re completely happy to be around one another,” she claimed.
As Mellencamp began “nesting” with Arroyave, Us confirmed that her horse trainer’s wife, Karli Schroeder, filed for divorce on December 30, 2024. She listed their date of separation as September 22, 2024.
Simon and Karli share daughter Lena, 3, and son Henry, 7 months. Karli is seeking primary physical custody of the two children and joint legal custody, according to court docs obtained by Us. She is also asking for spousal support and that Simon pay her attorney fees.
Southern Charm fans have seen many friendships come and go on the series, but when Austen Kroll joined the cast in season 4 his instant bond with Craig Conover was hard to miss.
Their struggles to get their careers off the ground paired with their relationship highs and lows bonded them. However, when Kroll and Conover were romantically linked to Kristin Cavallari in 2020 and 2021, respectively, drama ensued.
While Cavallari denied being in a love triangle in July 2021, Conover claimed during a January 2022 Summer House episode that he had “hooked up with her before.” He later alleged Kroll got jealous over the fling, telling then-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo on the show that Kroll “hates that I was making out [with Kristin].” Conover and Kroll have seemingly moved past the drama — and have been cohosting their “Pillows and Beer” podcast since 2020.

Going into the awards show, FX’s The Bear and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building had the most TV nominations with five and four, respectively. Netflix’s musical-thriller Emilia Pérez topped the movies nominations with 10 total. The Brutalist followed with seven nods.
While seeing who won is the purpose of the event, fans were, as usual, treated to electric and heartwarming speeches (Us is looking at you, Demi Moore) and hilarious, meme-worthy skits from presenters including Catherine O’Hara and Seth Rogen.
The stars of Emilia Pérez might’ve stolen the show with their four wins — but you can be the judge of the best moments from this year’s show.
Scroll down for Us Weekly’s roundup of the buzziest moments throughout the 2025 Golden Globes:
Medal-Worthy Red Carpet
Zendaya and Ariana Grande were just two of the standout style stars at this year’s Golden Globes. Zendaya, who was nominated for The Challengers, wore a dramatic custom Louis Vuitton gown with matching pumps.
Grande, meanwhile, paid homage to her Wicked character, Glinda, with her pale-yellow Hubert de Givenchy gown from 1966. “It’s yellow because of the yellow brick road,” the actress told Variety while walking the red carpet. “And it’s one of Glinda’s favorite colors.”
Nikki Glaser Knocks It Out of the Park — And No One Is Safe
Glaser, 40, brought the laughs and gasps during her opening monologue, calling the awards show “Ozempic’s biggest night.” While she promised not to “roast” the A-listers in attendance she couldn’t help but troll a few.
After praising Chalamet, 29, for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown she poked fun at his facial hair, saying, “You have the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip.”
The comedian applauded Powell, 36, for being “in everything” in 2024 including “my head when I’m having sex with my boyfriend.” Glaser teased, “Thank you for the assist.”
Glaser didn’t avoid more controversial fare either, throwing a Sean “Diddy” Combs joke in for good measure.
“Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” she said. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.” (Diddy, 55, was arrested in September 2024 for sex trafficking and more charges but has pleaded not guilty. He is awaiting trial later this year.)
Kieran Culkin Gets Tipsy
“I’m feeling a little …” Culkin, 42, said while shaking his hand to make a woozy-type gesture during his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture. “My wife and I did this shot of tequila with Mario Lopez.”
He confessed, “Definitely feeling that. Little speech is gone. Rip it, Kiernan. You’re doing fine!”
The A Real Pain actor then took a jab at the traditional playoff music, telling the crowd, “A couple of quick thank yous then I’ll piss off.” He proceeded to thank his “gorgeous wife” Jazz Charton, his manager and his mom before exiting the stage.
The star also turned heads for his temporary tattoos on his forearm and wrist full of friendship bracelets, which fans suspected could be courtesy of his kids.
Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Top the Hottest Couples’ List
Low-key couple Chalamet and Jenner, 27, made a rare appearance at the Los Angeles awards show. Although they didn’t walk the red carpet together, the pair were spotted looking cozy inside the venue alongside Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown castmates.
Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco also turned heads during the show after Glaser gave them a shout-out in her monologue. “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy,” Glaser teased as Gomez, 32, let out a laugh.
Two of Hollywood’s favorite married couples, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons and Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, also had Us talking after they stepped out on the red carpet in sizzling style.
Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara Represent for Canada
The Canadian actors brought the laughs while presenting the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor, Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television. (Jodie Foster won for True Detective: Night Country.)
O’Hara, 70, kicked things off, saying, “What an honor it is to be here, at one of America’s most prestigious award shows. And while I’m grateful to have won a Golden Globe.” Rogen, 42, chimed in, “And I’m grateful to have been in a thing that has won a golden globe, we’re actually both much more acclaimed for our Canadian work.”
The two proceeded to joke about their stereotypically Canadian roles that no one has heard of, including O’Hara’s “golden antler” award for “her work as mama Morissette in The Alanis Morissette Story,” according to Rogen.
“What about you and your brave golden antler win?” O’Hara asked Rogen. “Your return as young Ryan in Gosling, the unauthorized Ryan Gosling biopic.”
Rogen teased, “It was unauthorized” but it “felt very important to depict.” The actors, who were both born in Canada, continued to joke about O’Hara’s fictional “Otter’s Tale” movie and Rogen’s “Moose Knuckles Trilogy” before leaving the stage.
“I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this a long time, like, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor,” she began. “And I am just so humbled and so grateful.”
Moore recalled a producer telling her decades ago that she was a “popcorn actress” which led her to believe that winning awards was “not something I was allowed to have.”
“That I could do movies that were successful and made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that,” she revealed. “That corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I had done what I was supposed to do. And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absently bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance.”
Moore took the script as a sign from the “universe” telling her, “You are not done.” She gushed about the project and the film’s team who championed her every step of the way.
“I will just leave you with one thing that I think this movie is imparting. In those moments when we don’t think we are smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough,” she added. “I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’”
Moore concluded: “So today I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me, and the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much.”
Audrey Plaza Skips Show After Heartbreaking Loss
Plaza, 40, was initially slated to present during the awards show. She ultimately chose not to attend — and didn’t present as scheduled — after a sudden death in her family.
The actress’ husband, Jeff Baena, was found dead on Friday, January 3, at their Los Angeles home. Us later confirmed the screenwriter died by suicide. He was 47.
Although Plaza wasn’t on hand to participate in the event, she was honored by The Brutalist writer and director, Brady Corbet, during his acceptance speech for Best Director, Motion Picture. “My heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family,” he said to conclude his speech.
Surprising TV Show Shut-Outs
Fans were stunned when beloved series Only Murders in the Building was shut out completely during the awards show after being nominated for four categories. Nobody Wants This was also left without any wins following their three nods, while Abbott Elementary lost both of its two categories.
Vin Diesel Raises Eyebrows Over ‘The Rock’ Shout-Out
Diesel, 57, caused a stir when he took the stage to present the trophy for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The Fast and the Furious star paused to greet his frenemy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — who he has feuded with on and off since 2016 — during an awkward moment. “Hey, Dwayne,” Diesel said as the camera panned to Johnson, who just smiled and laughed from the audience.
‘Emilia Perez’ and ‘The Brutalist’ Win Big
Netflix’s Emilia Pérez, which stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón and Gomez, came out on top in four film categories. The movie won the biggest award of the night, Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, capping off the show. Earlier in the broadcast, Saldaña took home the trophy for Best Supporting Female Actor, Film. The film also nabbed the awards for Best Original Song, Motion Picture and Best Picture, Non-English Language.
The Brutalist also had a great night with three big wins: Best Motion Picture, Drama, Best Performance by a Male Actor (Adrien Brody) in a Motion Picture, Drama, Best Director, Motion Picture.
Shōgun had the most TV wins, taking home four trophies for Best Male Supporting Actor, Television, Best Performance by a Female Actor (Anna Sawai) in a Television Series, Drama, Best Performance by a Male Actor (Hiroyuki Sanada) in a Television Series, Drama and Best Television Series, Drama.
Kody Brown let his walls down during the latest episode of Sister Wives and shared the truth about when he lost his virginity.
“You want to know the craziest thing?” Kody, 55, asked viewers during the Sunday, January 5, episode of the TLC series. “I had a lover in college, and it was a little tryst.”
The reality star confessed he was “a naughty boy based on my faith” because of his dalliance in school. “I had a relationship in college where I lost my virginity,” he shared. “It was devastating to me. It was heartbreaking.”
Kody explained that since “purity” was “everything” in his childhood church, having sex out of wedlock messed with him. “It’s like you’re working your way back for it,” he told the cameras, reiterating, “It is devastating.”
Kody — who went on to father 15 children with his four wives — revealed that “nobody knew” about his college hookup except for first wife Meri Brown and fourth wife Robyn Brown.
“It was really because I don’t believe I ever got intimate enough with [my other wives] Christine [Brown] and Janelle [Brown] to tell them,” he continued, noting that Robyn, 46, learned about his past within the “first month we knew each other.”
Kody said his ability to tell Robyn such an intimate detail about his life was because he “felt safe” with her from the start.
“I’m not safe with them and they’re not safe with me,” he said of Janelle, 55, and Christine, 52.
Kody’s confession was prompted by a conversation he had with Robyn during the episode about whether he ever loved his first three wives completely. (Christine and Kody split in November 2021. Janelle announced her separation in December 2022 and Meri, 53, confirmed their breakup in January 2023.)
“You were in love when you married them and, like, when you were together, right, like, in the beginning?” Robyn asked her husband.
He grimaced before answering his spouse, saying, “Don’t make me compare, please.” Kody explained that he “didn’t know” what it was like to “really have deep divine love” until Robyn came into his life.
“I’m a flip-flopping fool when it comes to those ex-wives,” Kody said during a confessional, claiming, “All of us are rewriting the past. I mean, Meri’s rewriting it like crazy. I’m rewriting I’m sure because yes, I probably loved them. I had Robyn convinced I was in love with them.”
Kody added that he must have “sold” Robyn on the idea that his family was “something special” because once it fell apart it’s been “messing with her.”
When he later told Robyn that he needs her to “let that go” and “not hold it against” him that he was no longer in love with his exes. He alleged that he “agreed” with Christine, Janelle and Meri that their respective relationships had run their course.
“I’m not trying to be cruel to Robyn. And yet, it’s just heartbreaking to her when the reality finally hits right in front of her,” Kody concluded.
Ricki Lake says she’s “living [her] best life” after losing 40 pounds without any help from Ozempic or other weight-loss drugs.
“I started October 26, 2023, and went on this journey,” Lake, 56, exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly while promoting her collaboration with Stone Road Farms for her Ricki Lake & Bake cannabis line.
The Hairspray actress explains that she began by “following a very strict keto diet” that included intermittent fasting and hiking outside “every single day” with a weighted vest.
Since October 2023, Lake has also done Pilates “four days a week,” which contributed to her losing 40 pounds and keeping it off.
“I did not go on any drug because I wasn’t prediabetic,” she says, noting, “There’s nothing wrong with those drugs. They’re actually game changers for so many people. But for me, I did not want to be reliant on a drug if I could help it.”
“I wore a glucose monitor. I wore my Oura ring [which tracks health data]. I prioritized sleep and overall, a low-stress lifestyle. And it worked,” she reveals. “It continues to work.”
Before speaking with Us, Lake says she did a two-mile hike and took a Pilates class, which is her norm.
“I took what was once a chore, you know, every day having to work out and get on the elliptical and hate every minute of it,” the former Ricki Lake talk show host continues. “Now it’s a privilege and a joy to be able to move my body, to not be in pain, to see the results [and] to fit in my size 4 jeans.”
Lake rose to fame for playing Tracy Turnblad in 1988’s Hairspray, who she once proclaimed was “pleasantly plump.” Since then, she’s had many ups and downs with her weight.
In 2007, she was Us Weekly’s cover star after losing more than 100 pounds — even giving Us an Instagram shoutout on February 26, 2024, in the same Norma Kamali red bathing suit she modeled for the photo shoot 17 years prior.
“I literally put the bathing suit on for me,” she tells Us. “I was like, ‘I wonder if I could still pull this off?’ Because I’ve kept it [off] all these years. I’ve loved that bathing suit! And I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I look good!’ In some ways I think I look even better than I did then.”
Lake reveals, “For 17 years I’ve kept all the clothes from way back then. And I was like, ‘Why am I doing this to myself? I’m in my 50s, I’m never going to get in great shape like that again.’ And sure enough, they all fit me. In fact, some of them I had to take in and have made smaller.”
“It’s thrilling. I’m not going to lie. It’s the best feeling in the world to have put in this hard work and to be able to feel good in my skin,” she continues. “And to be able to share with the world that I did this. I set my mind to this and look what I’ve done. And then on top of that, I’m just so healthy. I’m so strong. And I just want to keep feeling this way.”
Three years after Lake covered Us Weekly in her bathing suit, she revealed her 130-pound weight loss on Good Morning America. She confessed during the December 2010 appearance: “Being fat worked, and I think that was what was confusing for me for a long time in my career. Through my adolescence and, you know, later teenage years, I got bigger and bigger and bigger. I had the worst, the worst eating habits.”
Then when the mother-of-two joined Dancing With the Stars for season 13 in 2011, Lake lost even more weight. At the time, she exclusively told Us that DWTS didn’t “feel like working out,” but she was “covered in sweat” after every rehearsal.
More than a decade later, Lake tells Us she continues to make her health a “priority” and gives herself all the tools to succeed. “I don’t go out late at night like my friends. I have DJ friends, they’re going out at midnight, and I’m like, ‘I’m so sorry. I cannot get there,’” she says with a laugh. “I am way asleep by, like, 8 p.m.”
The former talk show host shares that she goes to bed early and wakes up to workout before the sun rises. “I hike every single day, weather allowed. But even in the rain, I’m just out there [at the] crack of dawn with my dog and usually my husband,” she adds.
Lake notes that over the past year it’s been a “mind flip” where working out is no longer a “chore” but rather something “I love doing.”
She gushes: “I love slowing down and looking at nature and moving my body, getting my heart rate up, getting a sweat on.”
The actress — who teased to Us that she’s working on a lifestyle cookbook that documents her health journey — has also leaned into cannabis to unwind and avoids added sugars.
Last month, Lake announced her collaboration with Stone Road Farms in California for her Ricki Lake & Bake products, which are available in stores in the area.
“I obviously believe in this medicine, and in Stone Road’s brand and what they’ve built,” Lake said in a press release in December 2024. “It is so aligned with where I am in my life, and I’m so happy to be bringing this out.”
Outside of growing her own weed, Lake tells Us she drinks cannabis at night with her husband, Ross Burningham, before going to bed.
“It’s low in calories. Wine has sugar in it and calories,” she explains. “I’ve recently lost a bunch of weight, and I really prioritize just keeping everything in check. I’d rather have my cannabis drink, which is, like, 40 calories. And still get that nice buzz.”
Jennifer Sheffield celebrated the positives about her and Brandon Sheffield’s divorce in an ominous TikTok post weeks before they were both found dead in what authorities are alleging is an apparent murder-suicide.
“So, I’m about to be a newly single mom. I am in the middle of divorce,” Jennifer said in a video shared via TikTok on December 10, 2024. “My husband is being incredible, though, really and truly … we’re working together. Everything’s great.”
The 30-year-old TikTok personality appeared upbeat and happy as she recorded the video while driving around Mississippi.
“We’re splitting everything down the middle. Everything is good,” she said of her relationship with her estranged husband, Brandon, 40, at the time. “It is a very civil divorce with our daughter in mind.”
Jennifer confessed that since she was going to be a mom with a “single income,” she was reaching out to her network for tips on keeping costs down.
She noted that Brandon would be “helping” with the fees associated with their daughter once the divorce was finalized. “He will be supporting her, so essentially, like, I’m really thankful for that and that I will not have to worry so much about supporting her,” Jennifer continued.
However, she pointed out that she will be on a “very limited income with buying a new house,” and expressed concerns over branching out from Brandon, saying, “I’ve never done this before. I’ve never been on my own before.”
Jennifer concluded, “If you have any tips I would really appreciate it because I’m a little scared right now.”
The positive message about her relationship with Brandon amid their divorce was shared 18 days before Jennifer and Brandon were found dead on December 28, 2024, in Brandon, Mississippi, around 7:19 a.m. local time. Brandon Police Department chief Joseph French confirmed their deaths to Dark Horse Press Now that same day.
Authorities arrived on scene after receiving a welfare check call from Jennifer’s family, who reported signs of foul play.
The police chief reportedly told the outlet that it “appears that Brandon Sheffield shot Jennifer Sheffield and then shot himself,” before adding that the authorities were working with the theory that their deaths were the result of an apparent murder-suicide.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” French told ABC affiliate WJTV in a statement on December 28. “I would like to thank the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for their assistance with the Crime Scene Unit to assist with processing the scene.”
Prior to her death, Jennifer documented her life as a mom in Mississippi, who was focused on getting into medical school. She had more than 6,500 followers and over 100,000 likes on her more recent videos.
The Kardashians star revealed in March 2020 that her sister Kendall Jenner and pal La La Anthony were responsible for her tuning in for season 1. “Alright @KendallJenner and @lala got me to watch Love Is Blind and I’m obsessed!!!!!!!!!” she shared via social media at the time.
Love Is Blind debuted in February 2020 on Netflix and followed a group of singles as they tried to make a connection — and get engaged — without seeing one another.
With six seasons of drama as of 2024, the series has continued to draw in viewers and celebrity fans, like Bachelorette alum Thurston.
“I just finished episode 6 of #loveisblind2 and all I’m gonna say is I’m #teamnatalie and just want her to be happy,” Thurston shared via social media in February 2022.

Year after year, celebrities get into the winter spirit by heading to the mountains and channeling their inner snow bunny.
Whether they are getting in on the snow-filled fun alone or bringing their families, stars are all in on cold weather getaways. Ashlee Simpson and husband Evan Ross, for example, took their kids to Aspen, Colorado, for the holidays in December 2019, and met up with Ross’ extended family, including his sister Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross. They even coordinated their pajamas in between snow activities.
Comedian Chelsea Handler got in some serious aunt time with all of her nieces and nephews, as well as her siblings, during the 2019 holiday season in Whistler, Canada. “Having the time of my life on this mountain, thanks to the sage guidance of my two ski guides,” Handler captioned a series of photos while skiing at the time.

Hope Valley is full of love triangles and complex love stories, but the cast of When Calls the Heart’s real-life romances aren’t quite as hard to keep track of.
During that time, the protagonist Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow) has found love more than once. Off screen, Krakow has been much quieter about her love life. The actress, however, did confirm her romance with WCTH costar Ben Rosenbaum in February 2024.
McNally has been equally as hush-hush about his relationship with fellow Hallmark star Julie Gonzalo, with whom he shares one child.
McGarry, meanwhile, met his now-wife Kayla Wallace on WCTH. The couple went public in fall 2020 before getting engaged in December 2022.
