Maria Shriver learned a major sign of respect from her own mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
“I make them stand up [when I enter a room],” Maria, 69, said of her four kids when appearing on the Wednesday, January 8 episode of Hoda Kotb’s “Making Space” podcast. Maria shares Katherine, 35, Christina, 33, Patrick, 31, and Christopher, 27, with ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“I used to make them. Now they just do stand up,” she said.
“There’s many things that I’ve emulated from my mother, but my grandmother and my mother were big on manners,” Maria continued of mother Eunice. “So, you know, when somebody who was older walked in the room — a.k.a. my mother — everybody stood up.”
When Maria became a mother, she decided to pass this along.
“I wanted my kids to, you know, when I walked in the room — or their dad walked in the room, or you would walk in the room — that they stand up out of respect,” she told Kotb. “I didn’t want to walk in the room, and they’d be sitting looking at a phone or watching the game.”
Maria admitted that her kids “moaned and groaned about it” at first but have since changed their tune.
“I’d be like, ‘I’m here. Here we are, and here I am. And look me in the eye, say hello, thank me for coming, write me a thank you note if I take you somewhere.’ That sort of stuff,” she explained. “They now say it was a good thing.”
“Family continues to be super important, even as we get older,” Patrick told Us in September 2024. “It’s nice as we bring in new people, whether it’s my fiancée, [Abby Champion], or Katherine with her husband, [Chris Pratt], or so on and so forth. We always have other guests that come to the dinner.”
Patrick explained that these dinners are an “open invite” for anyone to come.
“It’s just a nice way to get everyone together. The world is always moving so fast,” he added. “Everyone is so busy with kids and with work and traveling that it’s a nice moment throughout the week to settle down and have everyone be together.”
Of course, this was a tradition that Patrick learned from his mom.
“There’s a lot of research about families that eat together starting at a very young age do much better when it comes to saying no to drugs, no to alcohol, yes to being connected,” Maria told Us. “If you’re too busy during the week, at least that’s something you can count on.”
Yes, Andy Cohen and ex John Hill did make a sex tape when they were together — but don’t expect it to see the light of day.
Hill, 46, was the bartender during the Tuesday, January 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. One segment during the show featured Hill listing the “Things Andy Should Do in 2025,” and they were pretty memorable.
Cohen, 56, noted that he was “already sweating” before Hill (who cohosts SiriusXM’s Radio Andy) even got started.
“Release our sex tape from 2003,” Hill said and Cohen started laughing. Guest and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne was quick to weigh in, saying, “Wait, I kind of want to see it.”
“The format. It’s on some janky format,” Cohen said. “No, I’m glad. We probably can’t even transfer it.”
Hill also suggested that Cohen “get t—” and “finally learn to read.” The radio host also asked Cohen for a raise. Finally, he joked that the WWHL host “needs to get rid of them kids” referring to Cohen’s son Ben, 5, and daughter Lucy, 2.
Things seem to be all in good fun between Cohen and Hill, who dated in the early 2000s — especially since they spend time together every day on air.
“I can’t think of too many exes that host something together — Sonny and Cher hosted after they got divorced — but I think it’s interesting for the listener to hear John absolutely shading me,” Cohen told Us Weeklyexclusively last month. “Or he totally knocks me down in a way that no one else would go there. Even Jeff Lewis.”
During the same interview, Cohen told Us that he’s “proud of everybody” in the Radio Andy family for the achievements they created both on and off the show.
“They’ve all kind of come to this with their own personality and point of view,” he shared. “And they’ve all built their own followings and their own little universes on the channel.”
“Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” the Summer House star said during the December 30 episode of her “Giggly Squad” podcast.
“I have so much love and respect for Craig,” DeSorbo added. “I think he is one of the best people I’ve ever met in my entire life. I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”
Tuesday night’s episode of WWHL was not the first time that Cohen had chimed in DeSorbo and Conover’s split.
“We were very sad to get the news about Paige and Craig, I have to say,” the Bravo boss said during the Monday, January 6, episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. He explained to listeners that both DeSorbo and Conover are “in the middle of an incredible amount of success” when it comes to their careers.
“He’s just opened a restaurant in Charleston. He’s got this business, he’s got a store in Nashville, he’s got a place in Charleston,” Cohen continued. “And then she is absolutely, like, murdering it. Killing it.”
DeSorbo and Conover started dating in 2021 and split time between New York City and Charleston. Cohen said during Monday’s episode of his radio show he attended the Southern Charm premiere party and DeSorbo did not accompany Conover.
“There have been a few events where she hasn’t — you know, she’s so busy — and I just think the more and more that starts to happen, you know, you worry that it causes a strain or whatever,” Cohen shared. “I mean, listen, we still don’t totally know [or] have a reason, so more to come on that.”
Brooke Shields has lived her life in the public eye since infancy, but she reveals many private, sometimes traumatic moments in her new memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman (which goes on sale Tuesday, January 14) . More than one of those traumas came at the hands of medical professionals. One distressing story — about an unwanted (and unneeded) vaginal rejuvenation procedure — stands out among the rest.
Shields, now 59, reveals exclusively in the latest Us Weekly cover story that in her 40s her gynecologist asked whether the length of her labia had ever caused discomfort. It had — along with bleeding and chafing, ever since high school — and the doctor (whom Shields described as “wonderful”) told her a surgical reduction was possible.
“Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic, which is very interesting. The last time I did check, I did not want to be a porn star,” Shields quipped to Us, explaining that she “heard about porn stars doing this” for aesthetic purposes.
In the book — the actress writes an apology to readers who might find the story “too graphic or simply TMI, as some generations still call it” but explained that her intentions were pure.
“I’d be lying if I said I’m not embarrassed to share this very intimate information,” she wrote. “But, if we are to change the way we approach and talk about women’s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues. Shame is no longer an option.”
Shields decided to go through with the procedure recommended by her gynecologist. During a post-op checkup, she had a shocking conversation with her male Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.
“He informed me that he threw in a little bonus,” Shields told Us, explaining that aside from her reduction — which was the procedure she had consented to — she received a rejuvenation (or vaginal tightening). “It felt like such an invasion — such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind.”
Shields recalled that the doctor “legitimately proudly explained to me that he, you know, threw in a little twofer.” The actress told Us she was “dumbfounded” by his revelation.
“Nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there,” Shields said, noting that both she and her gynecologist were enraged.
Shields neither wanted nor needed the “irreversible” procedure, and didn’t want to talk about it — feeling both “shame” and “anger.” (Shields told Us that she didn’t tell her husband, producer Chris Henchy, what happened “for the longest time.”)
She decided not to take any further action, legal or otherwise. “I thought, I don’t want anybody else telling me what I have to do,” Shields added.
Former Bachelor Nation couple Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo initially kept quiet about their decision to divorce, but more messy details have since emerged.
Us Weekly confirmed in January 2024 that Abasolo filed for divorce from Lindsay. Court documents obtained by Us at the time revealed he listed their date of separation as December 31, 2023, and was seeking spousal support. (Abasolo proposed to Lindsay during The Bachelorette season 13 finale in 2017. They married in August 2019.)
“Many of you know me as a chiropractor, and also a husband, my proudest role so far. After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew,” he shared via social media, announcing their split. “Sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go.”
Lindsay broke her silence on the split days later during a January 2024 episode of her “Higher Learning” podcast, thanking fans for their unwavering support.
“Obviously it’s a difficult time, if you’ve read the headlines, and you’re probably wondering why I would even work. But to be honest with you I need to distract myself from myself and the best way to do that is to do something that I love and I love ‘Higher Learning,’” she said. “I will eventually [talk about it], but now is not the time, [I’m] just trying to take it day by day.”
Keep scrolling for further details about the pair’s divorce:
How Long Were Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo Married?
Lindsay and Abasolo met when she was the Bachelorette in 2017. At the end of her season, Abasolo got down on one knee and proposed. The former couple tied the knot in August 2019, and news broke of their split less than five years later.
Court documents obtained by Us in January 2025 revealed that they initially reached a divorce agreement in September 2024.
Are Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo Still Living Together?
Court documents obtained by Us in May 2024 revealed that the estranged pair were still living together despite their split. Abasolo claimed in the docs that it was “awkward and strained” to be living with Lindsay since they “avoid” each other. He is seeking to move but “maintaining our standard of living is not financially feasible at this time,” Abasolo stated in the same documents.
“I placed my career as a chiropractor on hold to move twice for Rachel’s career,” the docs also read. “These moves were detrimental to my chiropractic business, while Rachel’s income and success as a media personality skyrocketed.”
Abasolo further alleged that Lindsay refused to “give [him] access to any of [their] community property funds.”
Lindsay and Abasolo’s January 2025 divorce documents revealed that he would keep his Miami home, and she would keep her California residence.
Is Bryan Abasolo Requesting Spousal Support?
After requesting support in his initial filing, Abasolo asked in May 2024 docs for Lindsay to pay $75,000 in legal fees, claiming that he only makes $1,300 per month.
Lindsay responded in a filing of her own that revealed she hoped to “quietly” resolve the financial matters of their split.
“Bryan continues to reside in Rachel’s home, for which Rachel pays 90 percent of all expenses,” the docs obtained by Us read, noting that the “public is not aware of the private financial information” regarding their split.
In July 2024, Us confirmed that Lindsay was ordered to pay Abasolo $13,257 a month in temporary spousal support. Court documents also revealed that Lindsay must pay $15,000 in attorney’s fees and $5,000 for forensic expert expenses.
Court documents obtained by Us in January 2025 stated that Abasolo “waives, discharges and releases” Lindsay from “any and all” future payments. They will also be responsible for their own attorney fees going forward. (The judgement revealed that she still owes him $460,229.)
Do Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo Have a Prenup?
As their legal battle continues, Lindsay revealed why she and Abasolo did not have a prenup during a June 2024 podcast appearance.
“The place I’m in now financially … is totally different than when I got married. We were more level, and I wasn’t living in California,” she admitted on the “Hidden Gems With Natasha Parker” podcast. “We weren’t on the same page with prenups, and I didn’t want it to be a bigger issue. So, we didn’t have one. Hindsight is 20/20, I would have done it [now].”
Why Did Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo Split?
Fans speculated that Lindsay’s career had something to do with the reason for their split, but Abasolo set the record straight in January 2024.
“We’ve been living together for almost 3 years here in LA. Not sure why people think we’ve been apart this entire time,” he wrote in an Instagram comment at the time. “Yes, her career came first, but there were opportunities for her that were smart for her to take which could have not been offered later. It’s hard as it is for women of color to get big gigs which I’ve observed through watching Rachel’s efforts.”
He added: “It’s not just women who should be expected to sacrifice, but a man can do it too. Her building her future was not the problem.”
“Our marital standard of living was nowhere near as glamorous as Bryan portrays it to be,” she wrote in court documents obtained by Us. “In fact, we rarely saw each other or even lived together during our brief marriage.”
She claimed they “rarely went out together and did not even go on monthly dates.”
Abasolo spoke with divorce counselor Rene Garcia in an interview released in July 2024. The doctor revealed that he and Lindsay had a pattern of “unhealthy communication” before their split, and Abasolo alluded to them living separate lives.
“We didn’t spend enough time with each other,” he shared. “I mean, in my estimation, we saw what the other person was doing in the relationship, mainly on Instagram, although we lived in the same house.”
Abasolo said he had been “thinking about divorce” for a while. “I had already asked for a separation a few months back,” he continued. “I was sleeping in a different bedroom. We were already going to marriage counseling.”
Did Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo Have Kids?
Lindsay and Abasolo spoke publicly about their hope to have kids, but they didn’t expand their family before breaking up.
“I wanted kids like anybody else, but other things were made a priority, which put a lot of pressure on both of us,” Abasolo told the same divorce coach. “Women have a different biological clock than us. It was going to be me going along with a plan, but I was under a hell of a lot of stress.”
He explained that it was “tough” to watch Lindsay experience fertility issues and he “felt terrible” about it. Abasolo added, “Just watching her sadness, it broke my heart,” Abasolo continued. “It was like I was failing expectations on all fronts.”
Are Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo on Good Terms?
Short answer: no. In August, Abasolo alleged that Lindsay referred to him as a “leech” in a text message when sending one of two spousal support payments for that month.
In court documents obtained by Us at the time, Abasolo accused Lindsay of sending a “highly offensive text.” The docs included a photo of the alleged message, which read: “BofA: Glender Ruth Llc sent you $6,628.50 for ‘Temp Leech Money.’”
Abasolo went on to claim that he has “been committed to working cooperatively” with his ex as they split.
“But Rachel continues to obstruct the process while spinning [a] false narrative about her ‘cooperation’ to the court,” he continued. “She continues to instigate confrontation, just as she did prior to my filing for divorce.”
Taylor Kitsch and Kyle Chandler are well aware of the Friday Night Lights reboot, but were they approached to reprise their roles?
“I’ve been asked and we’ll leave it at that,” Kitsch, 43, teased while appearing on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw on Tuesday, January 7. “But I’m good. I’m always flattered. Never say never.”
Kitsch played the Dillon Panthers’ bad boy fullback Tim Riggins (No. 33) on all five seasons of Friday Night Lights, which aired on NBC from 2006 to 2011.
“I would come in and do something, maybe for an episode or something, but I don’t want to go and do the whole thing. I’d go and have fun,” Kitsch clarified on Tuesday. “But I don’t want to lead FNL or a reboot or anything. I love the continuous challenging roles and to keep pushing.”
When asked whether he would rather return as Riggins or as a new character, Kitsch said that he could “do both” if the opportunity presented itself.
“I could create something that could be hopefully pretty fun. But I think if you saw me as someone else, you’d be like, ‘That’s Riggins,’” the actor continued. “Especially in that element if you’re in Texas or doing it the way they’re gonna do it. I would go do maybe play an opposing team’s coach or something and be on screen for, like, eight seconds.”
Kitsch said it would be fun to have “a little” nod to his beloved character before putting the chapter behind him.
News of the upcoming Friday Night Lightsreboot broke in November 2024, with Deadline reporting that the show’s original creators — Jason Katims, Pete Berg and Brian Grazer — were all involved in the project. While the series is still set in the world of high school football, a new cast of characters will be introduced to viewers.
Unlike his former costar Kitsch, Chandler, 59, hasn’t gotten the call just yet to return as the fan-favorite coach Eric Taylor.
“I have not. No calls. Nothing,” Chandler said during a Wednesday, January 8, appearance on the Today show. “I don’t know what I’ll say [if I’m asked].”
Chandler previously said that being the show’s lead taught him lessons about acting that he’s taken to every job since.
“That was probably one of the better acting classes I ever had. It was so enjoyable,” he shared with Entertainment Weekly in 2018. “I’ve shared some of the things that I learned from that job with other people, and they’ve thanked me for it.”
Brooke Shields reflects on reaching “a certain age” in her new memoir — and how it’s changed certain interactions with her daughters.
In Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman (on sale Tuesday, January 14), Shields writes that she once was “strolling through the streets of downtown New York” with “stunning girls” Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, when they received “admiring looks from various passersby.”
The 59-year-old actress recalls feeling “protectiveness, pride, melancholy” all at once. “I’ve become used to being recognized on the street, but this time was different: the looks weren’t cast in my direction, but at the two beauties by my side,” she writes.
In her Us Weekly cover story, Shields opened up to Us about the pivotal moment and why she included it at the beginning of her book.
“This stage is really so many things all at once. I wanted that to somehow be expressed,” she explained. “The conflicts that we feel — they hit you all at once. I think it happens with motherhood as well. There’s such protection, such pride and joy, and then it’s a reflection back on what you are no longer, technically.”
Shields said that she’s “not saying there’s an envy or jealousy” with her daughters, but rather “a restructuring” within her own thoughts.
“They’re starting their journey as you’re reaching a level that is hopefully [more] happy and calm but comes with a lot of fraught feelings,” she explained.
Shields, who turns 60 in May, noted that this moment is something that “anybody who has a daughter” can understand. “‘Oh, my God, I’m not that anymore. What is my value now?’” she stated.
“I thought, maybe that’s a good starting off point for where this book is supposed to sit in the zeitgeist now,” Shields explained. “What we herald and what we hold up, what we knock down, what we covet, what we’re afraid of. Then, this other just unbelievable glorious piece … these are my beautiful babies that are growing and starting — then you’re protective of them.”
In the book, Shields explores the idea of feeling invisible as you get older — which she actually looks at as a tool that she can actually use.
“It’s funny, my girls are all righteous about these things: ‘How could you say that, Mom?’ I’ll say, ‘My ego doesn’t have a problem with playing this game. I’m weakening my opponent into thinking I’m incapable.’ I found it a source of definite power and strength,” Shields continued, noting that she “used to apologize” when starting any sentence.
“I don’t have to come in weak anymore,” Shields stated. She told Us that being able to “defer and be respectful” is how she tackles these situations.
“I say, ‘This is your area of expertise, and I do not pretend to know a percentage of what you do, but in my opinion,’ Then I’m a bit more on equal footing,” she shared. “I don’t feel like I have to diminish myself to express something, whereas I think I used to be afraid to have an opinion.”
“I don’t care about any rumor that is, like, ever said about me,” DeSorbo, 32, admitted during the Tuesday, January 7 episode of her “Giggly Squad” podcast. “The only thing that I was like, OK, can’t, like, let this go by was because it was a third party involved. People saying that I cheated on Craig with Marcello.”
The Summer House star said she “died laughing” when the rumors first started circulating online. Then, she reached out to Hernandez, 27.
“I felt weird. I was like, ‘I feel like I have to text Marcelo cause like what if he sees it?’” DeSorbo said. “‘What if he has a girlfriend?’”
The Bravo star said there was only “one time” she had texted Hernandez one-on-one prior to the apology. (DeSorbo said she tried to get into the SNL afterparty when comedian Shane Gillis was the host.)
“I just texted him. I was like, ‘Hey, just want to let you know, there was a rumor going around that I cheated on my boyfriend with you,’ and he was just like, ‘F— yeah,’” DeSorbo said as she and cohost Hannah Berner laughed.
Hernandez then started sending DeSorbo screenshots of hateful messages he was getting about the rumor.
“I was like, ‘Marcello, I’m so f—ing sorry. This is so embarrassing,’” she continued. “And no one involved was defending me, which I found interesting.”
“Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” she said during the December 30 episode of the “Giggly Squad” podcast, sharing that there was no drama surrounding their split.
Days later, Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi posted a blind item claiming that DeSorbo spent New Year’s with a mystery man. Fans attempted to identify the alleged suitor when the “Snark Bait” podcast released an episode claiming that DeSorbo was linked to “a New York City-based comedian,” prompting Hernandez’s name to get tossed around.
DeSorbo shut down the speculation in various TikTok comments. “See you in court,” she joked when responding to one social media user, referring to the “Giggly Squad” phrase she coined with Berner.
“Sorry about the delay, this has all been very, very unexpected to say the least,” the Southern Charm star said. “[It happened] right before the holidays. I was very shocked. And it’s OK. It takes two people to be in a relationship and you can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it.”
UPDATE — 1/8/25 at 4:13 p.m. ET: Sandra Lee updated fans that she has relocated to a hotel after sharing that the wildfires in Los Angeles were inching dangerously close to her home.
“Good morning, thank you for all your well wishes. I’m in a hotel. I don’t have a home anymore,” she said in an emotional Instagram video shared on Wednesday, January 8. “My house is gone. It’s literally gone. I’ve been crying all night. Thank God everybody is safe. I don’t know what to say. I don’t know how to compartmentalize this. I don’t know what to do. All my stuff, all the last five years of my life.”
Lee noted that she planned on heading to work like she does “every day.” She added through tears, “I’m gonna rebuild it I think, I don’t know how.”
“For all your prayers — Thank you. I’m trying to process all this … I am truly grateful we are all safe. My house is gone — I cried all night and thought about every room, nook, and cranny. It was perfection and now it’s just Ash,” she captioned her post. “Please keep our community, the firefighters and the first responders in your prayers. This is not over — not even close. Love and Prayers always — Sandra Lee.”
Original story continues below:
Sandra Lee is just one notable name who has been impacted by the current wildfires in Los Angeles.
“My home in Malibu has got me through some of the darkest moments in my life. I have loved creating it, embellishing it, building it, caring for it, and protecting it,” Lee, 58, shared in an Instagram caption on Tuesday, January 7. “I’ve cherished every moment I have had with it. As the fire draws closer, I pray for it — I pray for everyone in Los Angeles right now. What an incredibly terrifying moment for my community.”
The celebrity chef continued, “As the fire reaches our doorstep, please stay in contact with each other; Community in times like these is our lifeline. We are all safe but the fire is inching closer to my slice of heaven in Malibu.”
Lee told followers about her long history in Malibu — starting when she was a waitress in 1989.
“I dreamed of a home like this (FOR ME) and worked my butt off for it,” she wrote. “I am sad but I am sending all my love to all the first responders and firefighters who are literally giving it all they’ve got to keep us safe!!! Love and Prayers always.”
Along with her hopeful caption, Lee shared three videos as the fires raged on. The first was taken as she started evacuating her home, which was meters away.
“Sandra, it’s right here,” a voice is heard saying in the background of the clip as Lee zooms in on the fire in her area. “I got everything I could.”
A second video showed Lee recording some of the damage from the fires as she was driving. Black smoke is seen covering the road as she passes by a firetruck going the other way. In a third clip, Lee recorded billowing gray smoke in the air over a body of water as ash fell from the sky.
The Los Angeles Times reported that an extreme wind storm caused by the Santa Ana gusts started brush fires in L.A. on Tuesday, with citizens evacuating for safety reasons. More than 13,000 structures are “under threat,” the Associated Press also reported on Tuesday, noting that the fire’s origin has not yet been confirmed.
Lee isn’t the only star who has shared her experience with the fires. Eugene Levy spoke with the L.A. Times on Tuesday, revealing that he had also been evacuated from his home.
“The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” the Schitt’s Creek star told the newspaper. “I couldn’t see any flames but the smoke was very dark.”
Dorit Kemsley had a four-hour therapy session with estranged husband PK Kemsley that ended with them coming to blows.
“He went in very much with, like, coming to battle,” Dorit, 48, claimed during the Tuesday, January 7 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “In therapy, he throws out, ‘This is why I want a divorce, and I don’t want to be married to this woman.’ That’s the first time I heard it.”
Dorit also said that PK, 57, “stormed out” of the therapy session while confiding in RHOBH newcomer Bozoma Saint John.
“I walked out of that therapy session, and I thought, ‘I need to start preparing,’” Dorit continued. “I know, I need to have a plan for every possible scenario because he’s too unpredictable.”
Dorit and PK announced their split in May 2024 after nine years of marriage. The duo told fans that they “had our struggles” over the years and “made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart.” The aftermath of their separation was showcased during the RHOBHseason 14 premiere in November 2024.
When speaking with Us Weekly exclusively ahead of the premiere, Dorit said she and PK had yet to discuss an actual divorce.
“We’re navigating this period,” she explained. “I just really hope that, regardless of where we go — I think if we end up getting back together — that there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. You don’t reach this place and want to just jump back into the saddle without having done the work that you know is necessary to enjoy the marriage and have the communication that you really need.”
Dorit noted that she does “think it’s possible” for a reconciliation between herself and PK.
“I think you need both people to want it,” she added. “I think sometimes having the time apart too, it can be healthy. It can also give us a chance to step back and look at our own positions and reflect and also do some work on ourselves individually so that we can bring a better version of ourselves to the marriage.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
“My relationship with Oliver right now is really good,” Garcelle, 58, said during the Tuesday, January 7 episode of RHOBH. “Oliver was in a really dark place over the years. I had all kinds of emotions, sometimes all in one day — fear, guilt.”
Garcelle admitted that she often wondered what she did “wrong” as a parent during the throes of her son’s addiction.
“I had to practice tough love,” she said of her relationship with her son during that time period. “I knew he was homeless, and I knew he was in a bad place, and I couldn’t do anything.”
The Bravo star, who shares 32-year-old Oliver with ex-husband Daniel Saunders, teared up during Tuesday’s episode when remembering one particularly difficult moment involving her son.
“Years ago, I was at home [with] a girlfriend of mine. We were hanging out and it started getting late,” she said. “We heard a noise and I looked outside. I turned on the light and I saw it as Oliver.”
Garcelle continued, “It was Oliver in the body form, but it wasn’t Oliver. The way he acted, the way his eyes looked, the way he was so erratic.”
She said Oliver was attempting to get inside the pool house before she stopped him.
“This is my son that I’m not opening the door for,” Garcelle recalled through tears. “I watched him walk away and I didn’t take him in. I felt 1,000 pounds of guilt not letting him in.
The RHOBH star added, “This was the tough love that we had to do so that hopefully that’s the thing that changes things.”
Oliver is the father of 4-year-old son Oliver Saunders Jr. (OJ), whom he shares with ex-wifeSamantha Saunders. The proud dad is gearing up to welcome baby No. 2 with girlfriend Shantei Paranda.
Garcelle previously spoke about Oliver’s addiction during a 2020 episode of RHOBH.
“If we’re all going to be honest, I’m not a perfect parent,” she told her castmates at the time. “My son Oliver has dealt with addiction since he was in the fifth grade. We have been through so much. … I would never judge another parent. I feel, sometimes, that I’ve messed up because I was too lenient with him.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
The 40-year-old comedian recapped her experience as this year’s Golden Globes host during “The Nikki Glaser Podcast” episode released on Tuesday, January 7. Glaser sat down with boyfriend Chris Convy and two members of her writing team — Brian Frange and Sean O’Connor — who detailed her performance from their point of view.
“I haven’t watched it yet,” Glaser said about her monologue on Sunday, January 5. “When I was up there, I wasn’t really absorbing.”
Glaser explained that she “couldn’t really see what everyone was doing” in terms of reacting to her jokes. The comedian’s cohosts were quick to reveal all the stars’ reactions to her roasts, calling Jenner, 27, one of the MVPs of the night.
“What? Stop,” Glaser said in response to Jenner’s reaction to the joke, which also received a roar of laughs from the award show crowd. She further explained why it was hard for her to see the audience’s reaction.
“It’s so hard to have a camera in your face cause all the cameras are in people’s faces,” she said. “They don’t know when the joke is coming about them. They know it’s coming because there’s a camera in their face and they’re a big star.”
Glaser added, “From doing [Comedy Central] Roasts, when I would even see my name up in the prompter … I know a joke’s coming about me, you blackout. You don’t even listen to it. You can’t, like, process information when you’re so nervous.”
The comedian explained that she was trying to remember that the stars were probably “terrified” of her jokes, in part because of her success on multiple celebrity roasts.
“I really was like, ‘They have nothing to worry [about], they should trust me.’ I just know that I am trustworthy,” she said, assuming the stars were “so scared” of her jokes.
Glaser also recalled Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson making a point to stop by her dressing room after the awards show to congratulate her on a job well done.
“I hugged him before [my monologue] and then after [the show] — which he did not need to do, “Glaser recalled. “[He] came by after everyone was in the room. We were all kind of celebrating. It was probably like 10 minutes after the end of the show, and he came back.”
Prince Harry is set to return to the U.K. as his legal battle continues.
The Duke of Sussex is set to go up against News Group Newspapers (NGN) — which owns The Sun — in court starting this month. Harry, 40, previously accused the media company of allegedly using unlawful information gathering tactics.
Hello! Magazine reported on Tuesday, January 7, that when Harry flies home he won’t be accompanied by wife Meghan Markle. The publication noted that she will likely stay in California with their kids, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
NGN previously admitted to phone hacking at the News of the World, which closed in 2011. They’ve since claimed that there was no wrongdoing at The Sun.
In an April 2023 court filing, Harry alleged that his brother, Prince William, settled with NGN for “a very large sum” in 2020. He also claimed that the royal family had a “secret agreement” with the media company preventing any members from filing lawsuits. (NGN has since denied this claim.)
Judge Timothy Fancourt ruled last July that Harry’s case could move forward solely on the allegations of unlawful information gathering. His phone hacking claims fell outside the six-year time frame to bring the case. The judge also stated that Harry failed to provide evidence of the alleged “secret agreement.” The trial date was eventually set for January 2025. (The hearing is set to last for eight weeks.)
This is hardly the first time Harry is going up against the U.K. media. He was part of a group that sued Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), which owns the Daily Mail, for allegedly hacking into celebrities’ voicemails as a way to obtain personal information. He made a major statement while testifying in June 2023, making him the first royal family member to take the stand in 130 years. By December 2023, a judge ruled in Harry’s favor. Court documents obtained by Us at the time revealed that the judge found “sufficient proof” that MGN “engaged in unlawful information gathering, including phone hacking.”
Harry spoke candidly about his ongoing legal battle during last month, noting that his time in court is about “accountability” at the New York Times’s DealBook Summit.
“They’ve settled because they’ve had to settle,” he said of those who came before him. “So therefore, one of the main reasons for seeing this through is accountability, because I’m the last person that can actually achieve that.”

Tutor has been one of the stars of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles since 2017 alongside Josh Flagg and Josh Altman, who departed the show last year.
“What can we say!!! Million Dollar Listing LA has been a hell of a ride,” the couple shared in a joint statement at the time. “The memories, friendships, experiences, sales, the highs, the lows and the doors it has opened we will forever be thankful for. NO REGRETS.”
They continued, “Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey with our family and business for the past 15 years of our lives. Meredith Vieira’s husband, Richard Cohen, died at age 76 following a battle with multiple sclerosis.
The Today show confirmed on Tuesday, January 7, that Cohen died on Christmas Eve after living with the disease for over 50 years. Today show host Hoda Kotb shared with viewers that Cohen was “surrounded by his family and love” at the time of his death.
The family had been together at Thanksgiving, Kotb continued, telling viewers that they were “concerned” about losing him early. “Instead, they got a glorious month with their dad,” she said.
Today cohost Savannah Guthrie said that Vieira is “in really good spirits” following Cohen’s death.
“She was such a beautiful and devoted wife to Richard and he adored Meredith,” Guthrie added. “And hanging out with them, they were like the most fun and entertaining, irreverent, cool couple you could hang out with.”
In addition to his MS diagnosis, which Cohen received at age 25, he survived colon cancer twice.
Cohen previously revealed that he told the journalist about his MS diagnosis on their second date. The two got married in 1986.
“I told her about the illness, because I sort of learned the hard way to get it on the table,” Cohen said during a 2019 interview with Yahoo Life. “And she really didn’t blink.”
Vieira noted that MS “wasn’t enough” to scare her off.
She spoke candidly about her husband’s illness during a separate interview with Peoplethat same year, telling the publication that Cohen was “doing OK.” At the time, he was also declared legally blind.
“It’s a progressive illness, so you don’t know from day to day,” Vieira said. “He needs a walker, and since he’s been using it, he’s much stronger. It was something he dreaded, but it’s been a blessing.”
The journalist noted that she and Cohen “definitely allow each other to vent” during the tough times. (Vieira left Today in 2011 to spend more time with Cohen, but continued to host various TV series over the years including the 25 Words or Less game show.)
“That’s part of the deal. Certainly he’s allowed to vent, because he’s got chronic illness. But I am too,” she said. “Because there are days I can’t stand it and the limitations it puts on the entire family. It’s good to say it. But we don’t dwell.”
Cohen is survived by wife Vieira, 71, and their three kids, Benjamin, 36, Gabriel 34, and Lily, 32.
“It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams — The Vivienne, has passed this weekend,” Jones wrote. “James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person.”
The statement continued, “Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career. We will not be releasing any further details. We please ask that James’s family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.”
“Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances,” a spokesman told Hello! on Monday, January 6. “A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Always there for me when I needed you,” she wrote. “You taught me the true meaning of sisterhood but more importantly you taught me how to do a cut crease.”
“It’s such a trip that you’re gone. It’s especially strange to think that most of the short time we spent together was on camera, because all my favorite memories with you were off-screen,” Oddly shared. “I’ll forever cherish our smoke breaks, our s— talking, our crip queen hot tubbing, the laughter and the tears and the McDonald’s we shared … but most of all the makeup advice you gave.”

Raja Gemini
The Drag Race star shared a series of photos with The Vivienne, simply captioning the images writing, “Forever.”

“You were easily one of the brightest stars that I’ve ever seen shine, and with beauty beyond compare,” she wrote, adding that she would “cherish” all the moments they had together.
Daily Mail was first to report that while the Duchess of Sussex did cook in a California home for the series, it wasn’t the home she actually lives in. The Montecito house rented out to film the show is actually located just down the street from Markle and Harry’s sprawling mansion, the publication also reported.
Earlier this month, Netflix revealed the trailer and release date for Markle’s highly anticipated series. The show is set to offer an inside look at the former Suits star’s home life in California after she and Harry parted ways with the royal family in 2020. Markle, who also produced the show, will offer viewers eight episodes of “tips and tricks” that she’s learned from being in the lifestyle space.
“I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it,” Markle’s voiceover could be heard saying in the trailer. “Surprising people with moments that let them know I was thinking of them.”
With Love, Meghan “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming,” Netflix’s official logline reads, explaining that 43-year-old Markle will demonstrate practices for “blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends.”
“I was just in my maternity leave and Meghan texted me and said, ‘Hey, do you wanna come be in my show … come to Montecito and have me cook for you?’” the actress told Deadline. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, that sounds perfect. I would love to do that.’”
Kaling, 45, said she considers herself an “OK cook” before praising Markle’s cooking ability that “unsurprisingly kind of blew me out of the water.”
“She has a garden from scratch, which I could never do, and chickens,” Kaling? continued. “They’d probably all die if I tried to take care of chickens. I was like, ‘Oh, this is very accessible.’”
While Harry, 40, was featured in the With Love, Meghan trailer, Kaling said that the Duke of Sussex won’t be joining his better half in the kitchen to cook for the show.
“I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook,” she said. “He knows his way around a kitchen.”
The actor was awarded Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama on Sunday, January 5, for his role as László Tóth in The Brutalist. The accolade came 23 years after Brody, 51, won an Academy Award for The Pianist at age 29.
“It’s been many years, it’s been decades, and I’ve had a long life and career and a lot of peaks and a lot of valleys,” Brody told Us Weekly and other reporters in the Beverly Hilton Press Room following his 2025 Golden Globes win. “It’s given me perspective. It’s given me great appreciation for this moment.”
Brody noted that “it can all go away,” referring to his career, which has spanned more than three decades.
“I am very grateful. I’ve had a very blessed career, but as you can see, it’s still a challenge to find work that is as meaningful as this,” the actor continued. He went on to discuss The Brutalist, in which Brody stars as a Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor who emigrates to America following World War II.
“That you can have a triumph in your life again is incredibly healing and rewarding,” Brody added, noting that the movie “speaks to my family’s struggles and the hardships that they’ve faced.”
The actor further explained that his ancestors allowed him “the good fortune of having firm footing as an American actor,” which in turn gave Brody “the ability to hope and dream and to pursue something like this.”
During his acceptance speech on Sunday night, Brody explained that the story of his character in The Brutalist is similar to that of his own family. (Sunday’s win for Brody marked his first-ever Golden Globe.)
“This story, the character’s journey is very reminiscent of my mother’s and my ancestral journey of fleeing the horrors of war, coming to this great country. And I owe so much to my mother and my grandparents for their sacrifice,” Brody told the crowd before addressing his parents, Sylvia Plachy and Elliot Brody, who were both in the audience.
“Although I do not know fully how to express all of the challenges that you have faced and experienced, and the many people who have struggled immigrating to this country, I hope that this work stands to lift you up a bit and to give you a voice,” he continued. “I’m so grateful. I will cherish this moment forever.”
Zoe Saldaña has struggled with dyslexia her whole life but only recently started speaking publicly about the diagnosis.
“I don’t have much time and I have dyslexia so I tend to forget when I’m really anxious,” the actress said when accepting her Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in January 2025. “I’m filled with adrenaline.”
Saldaña took home the award for her role as Rita Mora Castro in Emilia Pérez and was immediately brought to tears. She later addressed her speech and the decision to bring up her dyslexia during an interview after the awards show.
“I think that was the reason why I was having so much anxiety, you know, days coming up to this award ceremony,” Saldaña explained to Extra at the time. “I know that when adrenaline kicks in and nerves kick in, you stop breathing and you just go blank. I was just so afraid of not recognizing people, acknowledging people onstage that are responsible for me being where I am. I’m very hard on myself so I take responsibility for everything that I do, so it was that.”
She continued, “This morning, I got so many messages from loved ones, saying, ‘Let it all go and just breathe and be in the moment and speak from truth,’ and I did, and all of a sudden, the words came.”
Keep scrolling for more quotes from Saldaña about her battle with dyslexia:
Being Hard on Herself
“I just didn’t think I was good,” Saldaña said in a January 2025 interview with The New York Times. “I always felt overlooked, but overlooked in the sense of, ‘Well, if I’m overlooked, I deserve it.’”
Her ‘Lioness’ Role
Saldaña said that taking on her role as Joe in the Paramount+ series allowed her to “believe” that she can take on any role — especially if she works “really hard.”
“I think addressing my dyslexia and my anxiety was the reason why I sort of embarked on this challenge to do a Taylor Sheridan sort of show,” she told People in October 2024. “He’s very dialogue-heavy. It’s very wordy. There’s a cadence to the way he wants the sort of the dialogues in the scenes to be said.”
The actress said she was “120 percent” prepared when stepping foot on set. “I dared myself to believe that maybe I can pull it off,” she added.
Overcoming Her ‘Challenges’
Saldaña addressed “the challenges” she had regarding her “learning abilities” during an October 2024 interview with Variety.
“I have dyslexia and anxiety, which prevented me from really going after roles — a whole lot of roles — that I know I could have done,” she explained. “I would memorize, memorize, memorize, and by the time that scene would come, it was an extension of who I was — like ballet.”
She noted that the “worst thing” that could happen is changing “a scene last minute” or more dialogue. “That’s when I’m like, ‘Wait, wait, wait, that’s dyslexia 2.0’ — that will be the next step,” Saldaña added.
Being Afraid of Certain Roles
When it came to taking on her Lioness part, Saldaña said she was afraid to tackle show creator Taylor Sheridan’s writing.
“You have to follow good material wherever good material is. But it’s my fear because I know that [Sheridan] has big monologues with his characters,” she said at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. “I’m dyslexic. Spanish is my first language.”
Getting a Diagnosis
Saldaña said she was actually “undiagnosed” with dyslexia and ADHD in a video recorded for the Child Mind Institute in March 2020.
“Something that my older self would tell my younger self is rely on those people that really believe in you and are really willing to genuinely listen to you,” she said. “It does get better, but please speak up. Don’t live in silence, because who you are and what you do and what you’re going through is not wrong.”
Going Public With Her Struggles
She shared her journey with dyslexia and ADHD during a 2018 video shared with the Child Mind Institute.
“Growing up with ADHD and dyslexia meant school was challenging,” Saldaña said. “I can’t imagine how hard a year like we’ve just had would be for kids who face the same classroom struggles that I did. Adjusting to remote learning, trying to stay focused on a screen hour after hour.”
The comedian could be making a repeat performance as awards show host for future, because critics and stars alike had high praise for Glaser’s opening monologue — despite how savage it was.
“I am not here to roast you tonight, and how could I? You are all so famous, so talented, so powerful,” Glaser told the crowd when taking the stage on Sunday, January 5. “I mean you could really do anything.”
She then took shots at some stars in the crowd, including Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez, but also made sure to name-drop some stars who weren’t even in attendance.
“Tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” Glaser continued. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”
Ozempic and Sean “Diddy” Combswere also topics that Glaser tackled, regardless of who liked it — or didn’t. Keep scrolling for a breakdown of reactions to the comedian’s Golden Globes hosting debut:
The Critics Have Praised Glaser
Various outlets had nothing but positive responses to Glaser and her performance.
Rolling Stone effused that Glaser “redeems the Golden Globes” in their headlines recapping the show. The publication called out her “spicy” and “silly roasts” specifically.
Glaser made sure the show started “smoothly,” The Atlantic wrote, noting that she did a good job by “immediately — and frequently — [making] herself the butt of the joke.”
“Glaser’s good-natured delivery turned out to be the ideal vehicle for some unexpected bite as well — but only if you listened carefully,” their review read. “In between her many, many self-effacing barbs, Glaser slid in some stingers about the guests seated before her.”
The Golden Globes of years past was the awards show where celebrities had fun, let their hair down (got a little drunk) and if you’re Emma Thompson a la 2014, accepts an accolade with shoes in hand. According to Variety, Glaser brought the show right back to its roots.
“The Golden Globes reclaims its chaotic glory with a vibrant Nikki Glaser and some fun facts,” their headline read.
The Los Angeles Times’ review addressed Glaser’s jokes specifically, calling them “good” with a “tight” delivery. “Glaser’s stand up can be pretty dark … but she found a way to be lightly cutting and relatively inoffensive, just far enough above a community of which she is not exactly a part, taking gentle shots at individuals,” they wrote.
Using the now-ubiquitous viral phrase “understood the assignment,” Time Magazine noted that’s exactly what Glaser did. She “hit her marks,” the publication added.
Critics for The Hollywood Reporter even argued that Glaser saved the show, “reminding audiences once again of the importance of above-average hosting.”
Others Were Unimpressed
IndieWire, on the other hand, wasn’t fully taken by Glaser’s performance, saying she “did a fine job” as host. They noted that the comedian “delivered what CBS producers surely wanted — a solid performance referencing as many famous faces as possible.”
As for the stars in attendance, their facial expressions did all the talking.
Chalamet, for one, took it in stride while his mustache was compared to eyelashes. (Girlfriend Kylie Jenner laughed next to him.)
Glen Powell was quick to cackle — even though Glaser put his name and her sex life in the same sentence.
“Glen, you were in everything. Twisters, Hit Man, my head when I’m having sex with my boyfriend,” Glaser quipped, which got a big laugh from the actor. “Thank you so much for the assist. I’ll see you tonight.”
Wickedstars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were quick to participate in Glaser’s jokes, proving they were good sports as well. Gomez, while looking rather uncomfortable, did chuckle when her relationship with fiancéBenny Blanco was brought up.
Both Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were in stitches when Glaser commented on the amount of movies the actress made last year that kept her away from her musician husband.
Some stars who kept their poker face through the jokes? Zendaya, Harrison Ford, Kate Winslet and Stanley Tucci.
What Celebs Said
A few notable names gave Glaser her flowers on social media. Jon Stewarttook to X during the show and penned an epic compliment.
“Nikki Glaser is very very good at this,” he wrote.
