Hannah Berner Addresses Backlash for Blake Lively Joke in Netflix Roast

Hannah Berner Torching 2024 Hannah Berner Names Blake Lively in Roast Amid Justin Baldoni Lawsuit
Hannah Berner

UPDATE — 12/27/24 at 2:22 p.m. ET:

Hannah Berner has broken her silence after receiving backlash for her Blake Lively joke during her Netflix special Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.

“My joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before news of the lawsuit,” Berner wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, December 27. “To be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo.”

Original story:

Summer House alum Hannah Berner joked about the drama surrounding Blake Lively in Netflix’s Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.

“The word c— was trending this year,” Berner, 33, began during her stand-up portion of the special, which premiered on Friday, December 27. “I don’t think Blake Lively was that bad.”

Earlier this year, Lively, 37, starred as protagonist Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel of the same name. The film was directed by Justin Baldoni, who also appeared as Lily’s abusive husband, Ryle.

When Baldoni, 40, and Lively went to promote It Ends With Us, rumors swirled of a tense rift.  A source told Us Weekly there had been “two camps” on set.

Every ‘It Ends With Us’ Star Who Addressed Blake Lively’s Lawsuit

“This creative struggle set the tone for the negative experience behind the scenes and grew into them not speaking anymore,” the insider claimed to Us at the time.

At the time, social media was flooded with speculation about the feud, with many users slamming Lively. It’s likely Berner’s joke was about the chatter and not the lawsuit Lively filed earlier this month, claiming Baldoni caused her “severe emotional distress” during production and fostered a “hostile work environment.” (The legal action was taken on December 20 and it’s unclear when the December 27 Netflix roast taped.) The Gossip Girl alum also accused him of sexual harassment and alleged that Baldoni launched a “social manipulation” campaign in an attempt to destroy Lively’s career and reputation.

Baldoni, for his part, categorically denied the accusations in a statement provided to Us by his attorney, Bryan Freedman. According to Freedman, the claims were “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” and the court motion was allegedly filed to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” regarding the film’s production.

Breaking Down Blake Lively’s Accusations Against Justin Baldoni

Freedman also claimed that Blake made “multiple demands and threats” while filming It Ends With Us, including “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.”

Lively, who was also an executive producer on the project, subsequently clapped back at Freedman’s allegations.

“I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted,” Lively said in a statement.

Lively has since been supported by members of her family, including sister Robyn and her husband Bart Johnson, and other It Ends With Us colleagues. Author Hoover, 45, as well as actors Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate have all spoken out in Lively’s favor.

“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate, 42, told Today on Monday, December 23. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her. “What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening. I commend my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”

TikToker Kate Steinberg's 'Price Is Right' Prize Stunned Fiance Chad Savage

TikTok personality Kate Steinberg was in complete disbelief that she won a new car on an episode of The Price Is Right — but no one was more surprised than her fiancé, Chad Savage.

“She wasn’t messing with me,” Chad, 33, captioned a Thursday, December 26, TikTok video of a FaceTime call he received from Kate, 32.

Kate, who got engaged to Chad on the 2020 Max dating show 12 Dates of Christmas, appeared on a recent broadcast of The Price Is Right. After game show host Drew Carey proclaimed that she won, Kate ran from her podium to give him a big hug.

“Ah, I need a car,” Kate proclaimed before running around the stage. She later shared footage on her TikTok page with the caption, “Pinch me.”

After the taping wrapped, Kate FaceTimed her fiancé to share the good news.

“Did you win something? No, you didn’t,” he said. “See, you mess with me too much. You’re like the boy who cried wolf. Alright, show me the car.”

After Kate shared the Price Is Right footage, Chad filmed himself watching the TV with his mouth agape. He also jokingly dropped a bag of chips that was in his hand.

Kate is a social media star with over 2 million followers on TikTok, best known for satirical videos about millennial trends from the late 1990s and the early 2000s. Chad, for his part, often uploads videos “exposing” the behind-the-scenes side of Kate’s content.

“I did a lot of dating, single content. I’ve been on the app for a long time,” Kate detailed her content creator role during a September episode of “The Shift” podcast. “Things didn’t start taking off for me … until 2021. It’s 2024 and I still feel like I’m still hustling on the app.”

She added, “The thing that lit me up inside was talking about nostalgia. I’ve always remembered feeling, like, I had so much knowledge about nostalgia for the early 2000s and I had nowhere to put this plethora of, like, knowledge until I found TikTok.”

Kate, who often makes comedy skits about American Girl dolls, Abercrombie and more, brought her signature sense of humor to Max’s 12 Dates of Christmas. On the 2020 reality show, Kate was one of Chad’s suitors. After developing an effortless connection, he proposed during the season finale.

“This actually makes me really happy,” Chad gushed in a TikTok video earlier this month, recapping Kate’s dating show introduction.

Cynthia Erivo Teases New 'Wicked: For Good' Song She Cowrote: 'So Special'

Cynthia Erivo Teases New Wicked For Good Song

Wicked: For Good, the second part of the popular movie musical, will include brand-new music that deviates from the original production.

“I collaborated on one of the new songs, and it’s so special to me,” Cynthia Erivo told Variety on the Thursday, December 26, episode of its “Award Chatter” podcast.  “When we filmed it, the entire crew was in tears. I hope audiences are ready — it’s a song that speaks to the heart of who Elphaba is.”

Wicked, which hit theaters last month, was adapted from Stephen Schwartz’s Broadway musical of the same name. Both shows serve as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, in which the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North are roommates at the fictitious Shiz University.

The OG musical starred Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as Elphaba and Galinda/Glinda, respectively. In the long-awaited film version, Erivo, 37, and Ariana Grande took over the roles.

Cynthia Erivo Explains Why 'Wicked' Is Split Into 2 Movies

Wicked: For Good is set to continue the story where Part One left off but with a more mature tone.

Cynthia Erivo Teases New Wicked For Good Song

“We’re diving deeper into the consequences of the characters’ choices,” Erivo told Variety. “The story is richer, and the stakes are higher. It’s not just a continuation; it’s a transformation.”

While Elphie eventually becomes the notorious Ozian villain, Erivo doesn’t see the character as “purely” evil.

“Elphaba isn’t wicked. None of the characters are purely good or bad. They’re flawed, complex and human,” Erivo stressed to the outlet. “This story asks us to reconsider the labels we place on others and ourselves. It’s about empathy and understanding. The world needs more of that right now.”

'Wicked: For Good': Everything to Know About Part 2 of the Movie Musical

Erivo and Grande, 31, are both nominated for Golden Globes for their Wicked roles albeit in different categories. (Erivo is up for Leading Actress in a Musical/Comedy, while Grande was honored for Supporting Actress in a Musical/Comedy.)

“Oh my goodness oh my goodness,” Grande gushed via her Instagram Story earlier this month. “I am floored and honored to be recognized by members of the @goldenglobes. Crying (of course). It’s impossible to find my words, but I am simply so deeply grateful for this acknowledgment.”

She added, “Congratulations to my brilliant, dear sister @cynthiaerivo, and all of our Ozian family on this celebration of our work. I can’t possibly express my gratitude.”

Both parts of Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu, also star Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Peter Dinklage.

Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters November 21, 2025.

What 'Annoyed' Ina Garten in Marriage to Jeffrey Before 4-Month Separation

Ina Garten Got Annoyed by Prescribed Roles in Jeffrey Garten Marriage Before 4 Month Separation
Ina Garten (L) and Jeffrey Garten

Ina Garten and her husband, Jeffrey Garten, were only separated for four months before reconciling.

“We got married in 1968 and in the ‘70s women are, kind of, sorting things out,” Ina, 76, said during a Tuesday, December 24, podcast appearance. “When we got married, it was assumed that he would be ‘the husband’ and I would be ‘the wife’ and I would make dinner and we would do the finances.”

She continued, “We would have the prescribed roles, and I think those roles annoyed me in the ‘70s — even though Jeffrey thought of me as an equal. We just had roles that we were playing.”

Once Ina bought her first Barefoot Contessa shop, she saw her mindset shift.

Ina Garten and Husband Jeffrey Garten's Relationship Timeline

“I had my own business and I had my own life,” she recalled. “I found those rules to be really confining, so I just said to him, ‘I just feel like I need to be only own for a little while.’”

In response, Jeffrey, now 78, told the lifestyle maven that, “If you feel like you need to be on your own, you need to be on your own.” Their separation, however, only lasted a few months.

“We, kind of, took a break for about four months,” Ina said. “He was with the State Department, he went on this big trip around the world and afterward, at the end of the year, we met in Palm Springs and we just talked. We just sat and talked about what he wanted and what I wanted. He always has this great attitude, ‘Let’s just figure out what each of us wants and how we can do both of them.’”

Ina further gushed that Jeffrey “is the best” and “should be a role model for every guy,” also crediting the former financier with helping her find her voice.

Ina Garten Briefly Separated From Husband Jeffrey, Contemplated a Divorce

“He really is so wise,” Ina said. “His advice is never, ‘This will be good for me.’ It’s always, ‘This would be good for us.’”

Ina also credits therapy with improving their relationship.

“I remember going to [my therapist] the first day and I said, ‘I’m not having fun. I mean, I work all the time and it’s easy to get wrapped up in that,’” she recalled on Tuesday. “It was true for us for a long time when Jeffrey would leave on Monday [for a work trip]. .. The weekdays I pretty much had on my own, so I would just work all the time.”

Once Ina started embracing new hobbies — many with Jeffrey’s encouragement — they were able to get their romance back on track.

“He made me feel like I could do anything and that we would talk stuff out and he would say, ‘Have you thought about that’ and we would have a conversation right from the beginning,” Ina said. “He would say to me, ‘What do you love? If you love it, you’ll be really good at it.’ He knows I have a lot of enthusiasm and energy for things.”

Ina Garten Addresses Martha Stewart Comparisons Amid Rumored Feud

Ina Garten Addresses Martha Stewart Comparisons Amid Rumored Feud
Ina Garten and Martha Stewart

Ina Garten never saw the need to compare herself to Martha Stewart — despite what everyone around her said.

“[I learned] to just trust your vision,” Garten, 76, said during a Tuesday, December 24, podcast appearance. “I think the thing that works is if you’re really true to who you are. If you believe in it so fiercely, somebody out there is going to believe in it too.”

She added, “It’s true. It’s not, ‘I’m going to become this perky person … that people will just love.’ Just put out who you are and do the best job you possibly can do and I think people will trust that. They honor that and they believe in that.”

Garten says she sees her life like a train ride.

Ina Garten and Martha Stewart's Feud: Us Explains

“People are trying to pull me off the train and I just keep it right on the tracks,” she explained. “If I feel, like, I’m so sure what I’m doing is right, I don’t let people pull me off my game.”

The two lifestyle gurus first crossed paths in the early 1990s when Stewart, now 83, went shopping at Garten’s now-closed Barefoot Contessa shop in East Hampton, New York.

“My desk was right in front of the cheese case and we just ended up in a conversation,” Garten previously told TIME in a 2017 interview. “We ended up actually doing benefits together where it was at her house and I was the caterer, and we became friends after that.”

One day, Stewart brought a publisher to the Barefoot Contessa outpost that helped secure Garten’s first cookbook deal. They have each since published numerous recipe compilations and helmed respective culinary shows.

Martha Stewart: Ina Garten Was 'Extremely Unfriendly' During Prison Stint

Nearly two decades later, it was reported that Stewart and Garten were on the outs. Stewart had claimed to The New Yorker in September that Garten “stopped talking to me” after she went to prison. (Stewart was found guilty on felony charges of conspiracy to obstruct and of making false statements to federal investigators. She was sentenced to five months in prison and was released from jail in March 2005.)

Garten, however, has denied that the alleged falling-out was a result of Stewart’s prison stint.

“Well, let’s just say her story isn’t exactly accurate,” Garten said earlier this month during a book event, supporting her recently released memoir. “You know, that was 25 years ago. I think it’s time to let it go.”

Garten further noted on Tuesday that she surrounds herself “with really creative, smart people” to help make the best decisions for her own career.

“What I tend to do is I talk to everybody in the beginning and I get everybody’s point of view,” Garten explained. “I hear and we talk and we, kind of, build something. But, at the end of the day, it’s my job to choose and once I get all the information … I know exactly what the right thing to do is.”

Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris had a joyeux noël in the City of Lights.

“Comment dit-on ‘’Tis the Season’ en français? 🎄,” Bush, 42, wrote in French via Instagram on Friday, December 27, sharing a slew of pictures of the couple in Paris. (Bush’s social media caption translates to “How do you say ’Tis the Season’ in French?”)

In the Instagram carousel, Bush and Harris, 39, cuddled under the Eiffel Tower, hit up museums, enjoyed cozy dinners, saw a show at Crazy Horse Paris and packed on the PDA along the way. In one snap, Bush snapped a selfie while kissing the soccer star.

Bush and Harris also celebrated the festive season with her former One Tree Hill costar Hilarie Burton Morgan. “From France to Mischeif [sic], it’s been a great couple of weeks,” Bush gushed via Instagram Story. “Feeling incredibly grateful for the humans that are my humans.”

“21 years of holidays and trouble-making,” Bush wrote via another Story post, sharing a selfie with Harris, Burton Morgan, Morgan, 58, and the spouses’ two kids: Gus and George.

At the intimate bash, Bush and Harris twinned in holiday sweaters.

“@Amazon sweaters for the win,” Harris quipped via her Instagram Story, sharing a loved-up pic of Bush sitting on her lap.

Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris’ Relationship Timeline: Friends to Romance

Bush and Harris were first linked in October 2023 following their respective splits from Grant Hughes and Ali Krieger. A source confirmed to Us Weekly at the time that the pair met at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June. Bush and Harris’ connection, according to the insider, only turned romantic after they each filed to end their previous marriages.

Bush, for her part, publicly came out as queer in April of this year.

“As I came into myself, I already felt it was my home. I think I’ve always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum,” she wrote in a Glamour essay. “Right now I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great.”

Bush added at the time, “I don’t think I can explain how profound that is. I feel like I was wearing a weighted vest for who knows how long. I hadn’t realized how heavy it was until I finally just put it down.”

She and Harris made their red carpet debut weeks later at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

DWTS’ Lindsay Arnold Shares Her Plans to Get a Breast Augmentation, Lift

Dancing With the Stars alum Lindsay Arnold is going under the knife to celebrate the holiday season and her birthday.

“My Christmas present this year is that I’m getting a breast augmentation,” Arnold, 30, said in a Thursday, December 26, TikTok video. “Guys, I’m freaking out … but I’m also so excited. That is happening in, like, a little over two weeks.”

Arnold then detailed the timeline for her upcoming procedure.

“I am turning 31 on January 11, and Sam [Cusick] and I are going to Mexico for a little getaway,” she said, referring to her husband. “We’re doing three nights and then we get home. The next day, I am getting my breast augmentation. I am also getting a lift. … It’s just so many decisions and it’s hard that you make the choices for yourself and you have to live with those choices.”

How Lindsay Arnold Maintains Her Smile and Takes Care of Her Skin

While the accelerated timeline has been “a bit of a whirlwind” for Arnold, she “always knew” she wanted a breast augmentation.

“It’s something I’m very excited about,” Arnold added. “I know there’s mixed opinions on this type of thing, and so I get it. … If it’s not for you, it’s not for you.”

In the comments section of her post, one follower further asked how Arnold would explain the process to her 3-year-old daughter, Sage.

“Hahaha not sure how I will either quite yet,” Arnold, who also shares 10-month-old daughter June with husband Cusick, replied.

Arnold has previously been candid about her plastic surgery experience.

“I’ve been getting Botox for years now,” the choreographer said in a January 2023 social media video. “I get it in between my brows, I get it on my forehead. I obviously am not doing it right now because I’m pregnant. I also have gotten lip injections for a long time as well. I haven’t done it in a while, so any changes you’re noticing now are changes from my face swelling during pregnancy. People are always like, ‘Well, why are you trying to hide it?’”

Arnold has since learned to embrace the natural look after becoming a parent.

“Since becoming a mom, it has changed so much for me,” Arnold exclusively told Us Weekly in May. “I feel like beauty comes from within. … I am very much, ‘Less is more’ when it comes to skincare and makeup. I wish I cared more about this when I was younger, but [now] I’ve got a full routine that I’m consistent with every single day.”

She added, “Staying healthy and doing things that feel good to my body every single day is so important. When I feel good, I feel confident.”

Arnold also hopes to pass her beauty wisdom onto Sage and June.

“I want them to know that beauty comes from within and comes from how you feel about yourself,” she told Us. “I hope to just instill confidence in them and help them know that they are perfect just the way that they are and that they are beautiful in their own skin.”

Simone Biles and Husband Jonathan Owens Pack on the PDA Before Bears Game

Simone Biles kisses her husband, Jonathan Owens of the Chicago Bears prior to an NFL football game against the Seattle Seahawks at Soldier Field on December 26, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois.

While Jonathan Owens and the Chicago Bears lost their Thursday, December 26, game against the Seattle Seahawks, he made up with sideline support.

Owens, 29, received a sweet kiss from wife Simone Biles ahead of the matchup. The couple, who have been married since spring 2023, packed on the PDA at the Bears’ home Soldier Field.

Moments before their kiss, Owens was taken aback that the Olympic gymnast, 27, wore a custom outfit plastered with images of himself.

Biles, known for her chic game day style, stepped out in a cropped fleece hoodie that had pictures of Owens in his uniform across the front, back and sleeves. She wore a matching pair of patchwork pants, both of which were crafted by Philadelphia-based designer Kelly Daley. Biles accessorized her look with a white Chanel handbag and a simple pair of diamond stud earrings.

For glam, Biles wore her hair in a coiffed bob with a rosy lipstick.

“Thursday night football,” Biles later wrote via Instagram Story. “Gvng🤞.”

Biles became a football fan after she started dating Owens in 2020. (They famously matched on the dating app Raya but he was unaware of her own athletic career.)

According to Biles, the NFL safety “knows so much” more about gymnastics. Owens even received special permission from his Bears coaches to miss a handful of training camp practices to watch her compete at the summer Olympics.

Ahead of the July competition, Owens gave Us Weekly insight into how he supports his wife’s gymnastics meets.

“It is not much motivation you need to do, just because you don’t want to put extra, added pressure on anyone,” Owens exclusively told Us. “I just tell her, ‘Go do your thing, baby.’… As long as she’s there, she’s on the field, give her a kiss and we can go about our way.”

He continued at the time, “You get a different type of focus whenever you just have this one person that you’re focusing on. And I ain’t saying there’s something wrong with being single, but for me, knowing myself, I’ve played a lot better since [meeting Simone], I’ve just been focused and locked in, and you come home, talk about my day and play with the dogs, you know what I mean? That’s just kind of, like, our thing.”

After Biles clinched multiple medals in Paris, she embarked on a Gold Across America tour with the other American gymnasts. After the shows concluded this fall, she spent most of her downtime cheering on Owens at his games.

“It’s a new relationship. He likes her a lot and has a lot of respect for her,” the source exclusively told Us, noting that Trump is “smitten.”

A second insider further told Us in December that their romance is “different” than Trump’s relationship with Guilfoyle, 55.

Donald Trump Jr Spotted With Bettina Anderson at Family Holiday Dinner

“When it comes to his relationship with Bettina it’s just about them,” the second source said. “He wants a partner. She doesn’t need anything from him and just wants to be with him.”

Trump was married to ex-wife Vanessa, with whom he shares five children, between 2008 and 2018. Later that year, Trump moved on with Guilfoyle. While Trump proposed to the TV broadcaster in 2020, they only publicized news of their engagement in 2022 during his sister Tiffany’s wedding to Michael Boulos.

Trump and Guilfoyle split ahead of the November presidential election, ultimately ending on amicable terms.

Bettina Anderson, Donald Trump Jr. Take Italian Getaway: Report

“Kimberly and I will never stop caring for each other and will always keep a special bond,” Trump said in a December 13 statement. “I could not be more proud of her and the important role she’ll continue to play [as U.S. ambassador to Greece].”

He added, “She’s been an undefeated prosecutor, national TV news star, a leader of the MAGA movement and close advisor to the president. The people of Greece are getting an absolute star and now the whole world will see it more than ever.”

Donald Sr., 78, recently named Guilfoyle as his pick for the Grecian ambassadorship when his second presidential term begins in January 2025.

American Idol finalist Emmy Russell, who is the granddaughter of late country legend Loretta Lynn, is going to be a mom!

“Y’all, me and Tyler [Ward] are expecting a baby girl,” Russell, 25, said during a recent taping of the “Got it From My Momma” podcast. “I’m so excited.”

Ward, 40, immediately ran up on stage to rub Russell’s belly before taking his seat in the crowd.

“Right out of American Idol, I didn’t know,” Russell, who was a finalist on season 22, said. “So, that’s kind of been the journey. I’m so excited and looking forward to it.”

Who Is Emmy Russell? 5 Things to Know About Loretta Lynn’s Granddaughter

Russell was joined by her mother, Patsy, on the episode, who also teased her reaction to her daughter’s pregnancy news.

“I always said it’s ‘Emmy and Tyler that’s having a baby’ because they’re both having to go through [it],” Patsy said. “It’s so true. I keep sending Tyler the memes of these girls going, ‘I can’t wear anything, I’m fat.’”

While Russell and Ward have not publicized most of their relationship, he was instrumental in her Idol journey.

“I do feel that distinct voice of, ‘You do have a job to do,’ and I think it was also just so out there. I was so tired of listening to that inner voice critiquing ourselves all the time,” Russell, who tried out for the singing competition without informing her mother, explained. “I was just like, ‘I want to prove everyone wrong.’ … Everyone was like, ‘She’s probably not going to do it.”

She added, “I remember just even looking at Tyler and I was just, like, ‘I’m going to do this and I’m not going to hide anymore.’ I remember when MeeMaw passed away and we got to just be alone with her, I remember holding her hand, just like, ‘I don’t know how I’m gonna do it, but I’m gonna do something with my gift.’ It was almost like a scary praise that I was making.”

Russell then remembered that Lynn used to tell her, “God, doesn’t give a plumber tools to not use them.” (Lynn died in 2022 at the age of 90.)

“She always used to say, ‘He gave you a gift. You gotta use it.’ And so, I’m navigating that and I’m still navigating it today, but I knew that might be the place to do it.”

Russell auditioned for Idol with a piano rendition of an original song titled “Skinny,” which was a collaboration with Ward.

“I released that song with Song House, and Tyler actually runs Song House,” she said. He was like, ‘You gotta do it. We just got to release the song.’ Then, seeing all the feedback of it, I was like, ‘This is bigger than me. I need to get out of the way.’ … Releasing it [was] special.”

See How Tori Spelling and More Stars Celebrate Hanukkah 2024

To channel Adam Brody’s character in The O.C., this year was truly Chrismukkah, as the first night of Hanukkah fell on Christmas Day.

Gwyneth Paltrow kicked off the celebrations on Wednesday, December 25, by lighting a menorah with activist and fellow actress Noa Tishby.

“I think my most favorite [memory] is when I go back to being at my grandparents’ house getting the Hanukkah gelt,” Paltrow recalled in a social media video, referring to the traditional chocolate coins. “I have such a strong memory of the gold, round coins and my brother and I tearing into them.”

Paltrow grew up celebrating both Christmas and Hanukkah as her mother, Blythe Danner, is Christian, while her father, the late Bruce Paltrow, was raised Jewish.

Now that Paltrow has grown up, she makes sure to bring Hanukkah traditions into her home with husband Brad Falchuk and their blended family. (They each share two children from past marriages.)

“We always light the menorah,” Paltrow said. “We always gather together and after we light the candles, it’s very sweet actually, we all hug and we bring in the light.”

Other stars including Karlie Kloss and Andy Cohen also celebrated the Festival of Lights this year. Scroll below to see their festive photos:

“I never lit Hanukkah candles until I had kids,” Kunis, who immigrated to the United States from Ukraine as a child, said in a YouTube video. “I grew up doing nothing. I always knew I was Jewish, but I was told to never talk about it.”
Once Kunis married Ashton Kutcher and later welcomed two children, she started to see her Judaism as a point of pride. (According to Kunis, Kutcher identifies as Jewish “by choice.”)
“I fell in love with my religion because he explained it to me,” Kunis recalled. “There’s no right or wrong way to be Jewish.”

Christina Hall Shares Look at Christmas Celebrations With Ex Tarek El Moussa

Exes Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa appeared to keep it amicable over the Christmas holiday.

Haack, 41, shared a glimpse of her Christmas Eve celebration via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, December 25, in which she and sister Carly posed together in the driveway. In other images, Haack’s sons Brayden and Hudson were all smiles in front of a decorated Christmas tree.

“Cute grandmas,” Haack captioned a follow-up slide, sharing an image of her mother smiling with El Moussa’s mom at the buffet table.

Haack and El Moussa, 43, were married between 2009 and 2016. They share daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9. Haack also shares Hudson, 3, with ex Ant Anstead, while Tarek and wife Heather Rae El Moussa share son Tristan, 19 months.

Tarek and Haack, who used to cohost HGTV’s Flip or Flop for 10 seasons, now amicably coparent Taylor and Brayden. Tarek and Heather, 37, recently told Us Weekly how they were splitting the 2024 holidays.

“We usually have [Taylor and Brayden on] Christmas day. She has them [on] Christmas Eve, but [this year] I think we’re gonna spend Christmas Eve together,” Heather exclusively told Us in October. “[For] one of the first times.”

Haack and Tarek each celebrated Christmas morning separately. Taylor and Brayden kicked off the occasion with their mother, later meeting up with the Flipping El Moussa stars and their brother Tristan.

“Well… we don’t always get the best photos when you have a crazy 🤪toddler, sometimes this is as good as it’s gonna get! We love our little family so much,” Heather wrote via Instagram, sharing pajama selfies. “Happy Holidays to everyone.”

Haack dropped a “like” on the upload and commented with a pair of heart emojis.

In addition to seamlessly raising kids together, Tarek and Haack are also set to reunite on HGTV for the network’s The Flip Off alongside Heather. (The El Moussas will compete against Haack on a variety of renovation projects.)

“I never, ever in my life thought this show would happen,” Tarek told Us in October. “Sometimes I’m sitting there and I’ll have a moment where I look over at Heather, my wife, and I look over to the other side, and there’s my ex-wife, Christina. And I wonder, ‘How did I get here?’”

Haack was supposed to team up with then-husband Joshua Hall before they split earlier this summer.

“Things with Josh have been bad for a long time,” she told Tarek in a preview for The Flip Off. “The kids literally asked me to leave. They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around? I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time and I just can’t get out of it. Everything since, like, 2016 has been so hard and so horrible. It’s really taken a really bad toll on me.”

The Flip Off premieres on HGTV in January 2025.

The Ultimatum’s Nick Regrets Drinking So Much During Show: ‘It Tallied Up’

The Ultimatum Nick Tramontin Regrets Drinking So Much

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 star Nick Tramontin regrets certain aspects of his experiment participation.

“I definitely did not love how I handled myself,” Nick, 38, said during the Thursday, December 26, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast with now-ex Sandy Gallagher. “[I should have done] way more of this [drinking water], less of the other stuff I was drinking. It’s pretty clear, I think.”

He added, “I wasn’t sleeping, you know, I was having a very difficult time being in my apartment and it just, kind of, tallied up and tallied up and tallied up and I was far more emotionally volatile or reactive than I would ever want to show up for somebody that I care for. I don’t think I showed up with my true authentic self.”

Nick and Sandy, 28, had dated on and off for approximately nine months before joining the cast of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3. On the show, one partner issues an ultimatum either to progress the relationship by getting engaged or calling it quits altogether. To do so, each couple temporarily enters into a “trial marriage” with another costar. Nick paired up with Mariah Zernik, while Sandy matched with J.R. Warren. (Mariah ultimately left the experiment early to reunite with now-fiancé Caleb Lefterys, meaning Nick was alone for the duration of the three-week trial.)

‘The Ultimatum’ Season 1 Cast: Where Are They Now?

“I think that’s just hard to digest in any scenario, especially when you have to watch it on television,” Nick recalled on the podcast, noting he had his “ebbs and flows” with substance abuse struggles before filming The Ultimatum.

He explained, “I recognized through the experience that I needed to take a harder look at it. It had been something that came up in our relationship prior that I would sometimes feel like I had it together and then sometimes I would dip back into it.”

The Ultimatum Nick Tramontin Regrets Drinking So Much
Sandy and Nick in ‘The Ultimatum’

According to Nick, he wasn’t “getting the kind of mental health support and system” to avoid using alcohol as a means to “escape” his life and feelings.

“I was not in a good mental place, I think that’s pretty clear,” the artist recalled, citing his drinking and sleep deprivation as contributing factors.

After the show wrapped amid Nick and Sandy’s breakup, he “did go to check in and see what I could do for myself to change that behavior.”

“I never recognized it as something that I really needed to get help with and it’s been hard,” Nick said. “It’s something that is so socially accepted and especially on shows like these where everybody’s having a drink and people are moving it around. It’s really hard to take a step back from yourself … and look at that pattern.”

See Vanessa Lachey Get Emotional Over Nick Lachey on ‘The Ultimatum’

Nick, who found that he was “numbing” his emotions by drinking, did praise Sandy’s tireless support of his sobriety through the years.

“No matter what my frustrations were with her, the show and the breakup, she was always consistently supportive of me and getting to a better place,” Nick stressed.

Sandy, for her part, admitted that it was “really hard to navigate” Nick’s patterns of substance abuse but would always “drop everything” to help when she could.

“I really gave it my all with trying to be there for you and show up for you,” Sandy said. “I would drop everything and go make sure he was OK if he was struggling with certain things.”

Nick and Sandy both stressed that they remain on amicable terms since they parted ways. He has also started dating again, telling podcast host Nick Viall that they are “far more on the same page” than he ever was with Sandy.

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, contact the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Adrien Brody Battled an Eating Disorder After 'The Pianist' Weight Loss

Adrien Brody Developed Eating Disorder From The Pianist Weight Loss
Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody lost 30 pounds for his 2003 role in The Pianist, which had lingering effects on his body.

“That was a physical transformation that was necessary for storytelling,” Brody, 51, told New York Magazine in a profile published on Monday, December 23. “But then that kind of opened me up, spiritually, to a depth of understanding of emptiness and hunger in a way that I didn’t know, ever.”

Brody portrayed radio station musician Władysław Szpilman in the biopic, chronicling how the character survived during World War II in Poland. The film earned Brody his first Academy Award. Afterward, the actor experienced post-traumatic stress disorder and disordered eating.

“I definitely had an eating disorder for at least a year,” Brody told New York Magazine. “And then I was depressed for a year if not a lifetime. I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”

Lucy Hale and More Stars Who Have Battled Eating Disorders

To get into character, the outlet reported that he “put himself on a near-starvation diet” and only ate small “bits of protein” while playing Chopin’s piano works for hour son end. Brody was also reportedly “barely drinking water” when filming began.

After The Pianist wrapped and Brody won his Oscar, he took a yearlong break from acting.

“I do admit the bar was high,” he recalled. “I’d rather not go down the list of what movies in particular I felt were disastrous.”

Adrien Brody Developed Eating Disorder From The Pianist Weight Loss

After a string of roles that were admittedly less successful, Brody took another hiatus around 2018. It was his girlfriend, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, who later inspired his return.

“I just stepped out. That helped me recalibrate,” Brody told the outlet. “She helped me realize that it would be a loss to let the frustrations interfere with pursuing what I am destined to do with an open heart.”

Celebrities Who’ve Lost or Gained Weight for Movie and TV Roles

Brody will next star in The Brutalist about artist Lázsló Tóth, who escaped Nazi-occupied Europe during the Holocaust.

The Brutalist broke some illusion of the need for suffering to extend beyond what I need to conjure up the character,” Brody said. “It was surprising to me that I didn’t need to take home so much of my own anguish.”

Like with The Pianist, Brody also felt a responsibility to authentically portray Tóth in The Brutalist.

“I knew when it felt truthful and when it didn’t,” he explained. “The Hungarian sensibility, sensitivity, and strength is a quality beyond language that is noticeable to me, that is present in that character.”

Amid their rehearsals, Us broke the news that Savchenko and Nader started hooking up. They later stopped after they were eliminated from DWTS in October before reuniting ahead of the season 33 finale earlier this month following back-and-forth cryptic TikTok videos.

“I don’t know what to say about that,” Nader exclusively told Us in December. “I don’t even know what’s going on. I know I am confusing people, but I am confusing myself. I am loving life.”

At the time, Nader was unsure about a long-term future with Savchenko but stressed that “he’s great.” The model further said she “had so much fun” introducing Savchenko to her relatives at Thanksgiving last month.

“He will always have a seat at our table. My family loves him, and he’s just a great guy, and he’s so great with all the girls and the family,” Nader told Us. “We were all on Dancing With the Stars because it’s always a family affair. And he made everyone feel really welcome, including myself. He made me feel really comfortable dancing and doing things that I was maybe uncomfortable with. So he’s great.”

The Biggest Breakups of 2024 That Rocked the Internet: Bennifer and More

Not every love story in 2024 had a happy ending.

After two years of marriage (and decades of history), Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on their wedding anniversary. (While Lopez and Affleck had eloped in July 2022, they renewed their vows in a grandiose ceremony at the Oscar-winning director’s Georgia residence the next month.)

“The timing of the divorce was a big f— you to Ben,” an insider exclusively told Us Weekly at the time.

By October, Lopez opened up about her mindset for her ending her marriage.

“I did all the work and look where I am, and then it was like my whole f—ing world exploded,” she told Interview magazine. “Sometimes, it’s going to work out great. And sometimes it won’t. And that’s f—ing OK, too. I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like.’”

These two had their ups and downs for years, reaching a boiling point in June 2023 when McDermott confirmed via Instagram that they had separated. Within hours, he deleted the post. It wasn’t until March of this year, however, that Spelling filed for divorce and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
Spelling later revealed on her podcast that she initially thought it’d be a “disservice” to her and McDermott’s five children if they broke up and lived separately.
“I always thought as bad as things might be between my partner and myself, it’s better to have their dad in the house than in a different residence,” Spelling said on a December episode of her “Misspelling” podcast. “I think that kept me in the relationship far too long. It ultimately, I feel, did a disservice to my kids.”

Lindsay and Abasolo were known as one of Bachelor Nation’s success stories after meeting on The Bachelorette season 13. Abasolo filed for divorce in January, later claiming that the “stress” of fertility struggles factored into his decision.
Lindsay, for her part, revealed in July that she had felt “done” in their relationship before their respective filings.
“I think I read this somewhere, I’m not sure, but by the time women decide they want a divorce, they’re done [and] I was done,” Lindsay said in a YouTube interview. “Doesn’t mean it wasn’t hard or a re-adjustment. It’s still a struggle daily, but emotionally, I felt I was very sure this was what I wanted to do.”

“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life dealing with the abuse from this dude,” she said on a November episode of her “BFFs” podcast, claiming that she turned down a multimillion-dollar sum in exchange for signing an NDA. “I’m still scared right now because I’m scared of him still.
