Dolphins give Grant DuBose health update after wide receiver leaves game on stretcher

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose had "movement in all extremities" as he stayed in a hospital overnight following a scary hit during a game against the Houston Texans, the team said.

The team released an update on DuBose on Monday.

"After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight," the Dolphins said in a post on X.

"He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation."

DuBose was on the receiving end of a tough hit from Texans defensive back Calen Bullock. The Dolphins receiver, who has been used sparingly this season, ran a slant route and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a quick pass to him for a first down.

Bullock crashed down in an attempt to break up the pass, and he did his job but at the cost of hurting the receiver. DuBose was down on the turf with Bullock clearly realizing something was wrong.

The game needed to be stopped for 12 minutes as medical staff assessed the situation and made the decision to cut off DuBose's jersey and pads before placing him on a stretcher to get off the field. Every Dolphins player and staff member not attending to DuBose was in a circle on one knee praying for their teammate.

DuBose left the game with what the team termed a head injury.

Tagovailoa spoke about the play after the game.

"Very tough to have seen live," he said. "I’m my toughest critic when it comes to ball placement, when it comes to knowing where to go with the ball and all that. I just feel bad that I even put him in that situation to have gotten hit. It was tough to move on after that happened."

Tagovailoa has had multiple concussions in his NFL career.

"We all know that I’ve gone through something similar, and that’s no fun," Tagovailoa added. "You never want to be put in any of those situations, but you also understand that this is a physical sport. It’s a contact sport. Again, I just think of what I could have done to not put Grant in that situation."

Texans' Calen Bullock talks scary play that left Dolphins' Grant DuBose hospitalized

Houston Texans defensive back Calen Bullock delivered the hit on Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose that created a scary situation for the player on Sunday.

DuBose was down on the field for several moments and medical personnel had to cut off his jersey and remove his shoulder pads before placing him on a stretcher and carrying him out of the arena. DuBose spent the rest of the night in the hospital.

Bullock told reporters he didn’t think he was going to face discipline for the play.

"My intention was never to go out there and just try to completely take someone out of the game and hurt somebody," he said, via KPRC-TV.

"My intentions was never to go out and hurt nobody, that’s never any of our intentions. So, prayers out to him and his family. I hope he’s good. I was just seeing the ball, and I was breaking on the ball, and it just happened to be one of those type of plays."

Bullock was flagged on the play. DuBose appeared to clench his fists after the hit – movements consistent with the "fencing response."

"Very tough to have seen live," Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said. "I’m my toughest critic when it comes to ball placement, when it comes to knowing where to go with the ball and all that. I just feel bad that I even put him in that situation to have gotten hit. It was tough to move on after that happened."

Tagovailoa had multiple concussions in his NFL career – some extremely scary for a live audience to witness firsthand.

"We all know that I’ve gone through something similar, and that’s no fun," Tagovailoa added. "You never want to be put in any of those situations, but you also understand that this is a physical sport. It’s a contact sport. Again, I just think of what I could have done to not put Grant in that situation."

It was the second straight Texans game in which an opposing player was injured by a sketchy hit. Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair hit Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Dec. 1.

Al-Shaair was given a three-game suspension for the hit.

Dolphins' Grant DuBose needs jersey cut off, leaves game on stretcher after scary hit vs Texans

A scary scene occurred in the Miami Dolphins-Houston Texans game on Sunday as wide receiver Grant DuBose had to be stretchered off the field with his jersey and pads cut off and his face mask and helmet removed after a bad hit.

The Dolphins receiver, who has been used sparingly this season, ran a slant route and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a quick pass to him for a first down.

However, Texans safety Calen Bullock crashed down in an attempt to break up the pass, and he did his job but at the cost of hurting the receiver.

Head coaches Mike McDaniel of the Dolphins and DeMeco Ryans of the Texans embraced as the scene played out as well.

DuBose left the game with what was officially called a head injury.

For the season, DuBose had one catch for 13 yards, which was a first down against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 12.

The Dolphins ended up losing this contest against the Texans, 20-12, in a game in which they needed to come out victorious for playoff implications.

They are now 6-8 on the season with three games remaining, while the Texans could clinch the AFC South if the Indianapolis Colts lose to the Denver Broncos later on Sunday.

Tua Tagovailoa says he has armed security after burglaries at NFL players' homes: 'Think twice'

There's a new burglary ring, and it's targeting NFL players.

The homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow have all been broken into recently, but it will be tough for anyone to get into Tua Tagovailoa's place.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback said Wednesday he has "personal security" to keep him and his family safe.

Tagovailoa said he made the decision shortly after one of his cars was broken into.

"It's a little too close for my comfort with my family being in the house. So, we got personal security to take care of all that. When we're on the road, we got someone with my wife. We got someone surveying that house," he said.

He then gave a stern warning.

"They are armed, so I hope if you decide to go to my house, you think twice."

JOE BURROW'S HOUSE BURGLARIZED WHILE PLAYING COWBOYS ON MONDAY NIGHT: REPORT

Burrow's home was burglarized while he was in Dallas facing the Cowboys Monday. The NFL recently sent out a memo regarding the incidents.

The league cautioned players to be on high alert after homes were hit last month that were believed to be tied to international organized crime.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported last month that the FBI is investigating the crime spree, "which is believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate."

According to the report, at least one other NFL player had his home burglarized.

In the memo, the league also urged players to take precautions, including installing home security systems. They were also encouraged not to post images of expensive items or live updates of their comings and goings on social media.

The burglaries have happened during players' games.

Tua Tagovailoa's clutch touchdown passes lift Dolphins to overtime win over Jets

The Miami Dolphins made a splash on Sunday afternoon.

Tua Tagovailoa threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jonnu Smith on the first drive of overtime to give the Dolphins a 32-26 win over the New York Jets and keep their playoff chances alive.

Miami and New York battled all game long.

Dolphins running back De’Von Achane started the scoring for the Dolphins with a 2-yard run in the first quarter. The next touchdown was scored in the second quarter when Jets running back Isaiah Davis ran in for a 17-yard score. Davis’ touchdown put the Jets up 10-9.

The Jets looked as though they were getting ahead in the third quarter.

Aaron Rodgers threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams and Anders Carlson hit a 40-yard field goal. The Jets took a 23-15 lead into the final quarter.

Tagovailoa led Miami on a nine-play, 60-yard drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. The 2-point conversion was also completed on a pass to Jaylen Waddle.

GIANTS FAN SENDS MESSAGE TO TEAM CO-OWNER AMID ABYSMAL 2024 SEASON

A pair of field goals sent the game into overtime. The Jets’ offense never took the field.

Tagovailoa was 33-of-47 passing with 331 yards and two touchdown passes. Hill had 10 catches for 115 yards and Waddle had nine catches for 99 yards.

Rodgers went over 300 yards passing for the first time since Dec. 12, 2021.

Adams had nine catches for 109 yards along with the touchdown. Garrett Wilson led the team with seven catches for 114 yards, including a 42-yard catch.

However, it was Miami that buried New York’s playoff chances firmly in the ground.

It was the Dolphins’ fourth win in their last five games and their sixth win overall. The Dolphins need to win at least three of their final four games to possibly sneak into the postseason with a logjam for the final three AFC wild-card spots.

Miami only has the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens in front of them for the final playoff spot.

Alix Earle dishes on awkward sideline exchange with NFL boyfriend after saying 'I love you'

Alix Earle recently celebrated her one-year anniversary with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios, but the popular social media influencer admitted this week that her NFL boyfriend did not exactly reciprocate saying "I love you" when she said it early on in their relationship.

Earle, who is also the host of the popular podcast "Hot Mess," opened up about her relationship with Berrios and the awkward sideline interaction between the two when she confessed her true feelings for him.

The 23-year-old New Jersey native said she made the three-word admission before the Dolphins' first game of the season.

"It was before his first football game last year. It was my first time going seeing him play. Me and my friends were outside tailgating, and I’m like ‘Tequila shots, this will be so fun.’ And I went down to see him on the field, and I was like ‘Hey, have a good game," she recalled on the "Great Company" podcast this week.

"You get like five seconds, and then he runs away, and I was like ‘I love you.’ And he looked at me – he was hugging my friend while he was processing what I just said – and then he looks at me and we both laugh, and then he runs off into the locker room and didn’t say I love you back."

Earle said she spent the entire game thinking about the interaction and what it potentially meant.

"For the whole game I was like ‘I’ve gotta go.’ I just said ‘I love you’ to this man, and he said nothing back to me. I was so freaked out."

After the game, Earle tried to cover herself, claiming she "accidentally" said it. She said Berrious responded "I figured you might’ve been drunk, and it was just like an accident, so I didn’t say it back."

Earle said just a day later, Berrios finally said it back – but the situation does make for an interesting love story.

"It was me first, and it was not reciprocated."

Earle and Berrios celebrated their one-year anniversary last month. She celebrated the day with a sincere post on social media.

"I didn’t know I was capable of this type of love & I feel like I have truly found my other half! I love you," she wrote in a caption on Instagram.

Berrios, 29, and Earle both attended the University of Miami. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and spent the majority of his NFL career with the New York Jets. After being released in 2023, he signed with Miami on a one-year deal before resigning the following season.

Video of bundled-up Dolphins players warming up at Lambeau Field goes viral after Thanksgiving Day loss

The Miami Dolphins wanted to put to bed the narrative that cold weather games were their weakness.

Unfortunately, they were not able to do that after losing to the Green Bay Packers in frigid temps on Thanksgiving Day. In the lead up to Thursday night’s game, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said he believed it all came down to "mindset."

"We’re obviously nowhere near the temperatures where all these other cold teams play at being in Miami, where it’s 80," he said this week. "Sometimes it gets down to 50, but it just gets nowhere near the teams that make it in long stretches. To me it’s just a mindset, that’s really all it is."

However, there appeared to be at least one stark difference in the way each team approached their pre-game warmups.

In a video shared on social media, several Packers players were seen warming up in T-shirts and shorts before the game. Meanwhile, that same video captured several Miami players bundled up in sweats and hats warming up on the field.

The Dolphins have now lost their last 12 regular season or postseason games in which the temperature at kickoff was 40 degrees or lower. Thursday was no different, with a temperature of 27 degrees, with 10 mph winds and a wind chill of 18 degrees.

PACKERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FRIGID HOME-FIELD ELEMENTS IN WIN AGAINST DOLPHINS

It follows the Dolphins’ brutal loss in the wild-card round last season. Miami suffered a 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium where it was minus 4 degrees at kickoff with a wind chill of minus-27.

Miami’s last win when temps at kickoff were below 40 degrees was in 2016 against the Buffalo Bills.

However, Tagovailoa refused to give into the narrative despite Thursday’s loss.

"I would say, from my standpoint and our team’s standpoint, we’re not going to use any of that as an excuse for why we didn’t get the start that we wanted."

Packers take advantage of frigid home-field elements in win against Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers used the elements to their advantage on Thursday against a team not as familiar with playing in the bitter cold.

The home team claimed a 30-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins to cap off the Thanksgiving tripleheader.

Simply put, the Packers were unbothered by the Frozen Tundra from the jump. They did go three-and-out on their first possession, but the punt was muffed and recovered by Green Bay inside the 10-yard line.

Three plays later, Jordan Love hit Jayden Reed for a touchdown. After a Miami punt, the Packers went 12 plays down the field, and Josh Jacobs finished the job.

The Dolphins made a field goal on their next drive, then both teams exchanged punts before Love and Reed connected for their second touchdown. Miami followed up by turning the ball over on downs and the Packers added a field goal to end the first half up 24-3.

Miami punted to begin the second half and Green Bay responded with a field goal. De’Von Achane scored on the Dolphins' next drive, and a successful two-point conversion suddenly made it a two-possession game.

COWBOYS CONTINUE TO OWN GIANTS AS BATTLE OF BACKUPS CONTINUES BIG BLUE'S DERAILED SEASON

After forcing a Green Bay punt, the Dolphins got all the way down to the opposing one, but were unable to score. The Packers then made it a three-possession game after kicking another field goal, effectively icing the ballgame – though Tyreek Hill did find the end zone late.

Love went 21-for-28 for 274 yards, with both of his touchdowns to Reed.

Tua Tagovailoa was 36-for-45 for 357 yards, at least doing his part in shutting up the narrative that he can't play in the cold. Jonnu Smith led all receivers with 10 catches for 113 yards.

Green Bay is now 9-3, yet remains in third place in the stacked NFC North. They will visit the 11-1 Detroit Lions next Thursday.

The Dolphins, now 5-7, will host the New York Jets on Dec. 8.

Lions look to end unfortunate Thanksgiving streak, Giants face hopeful Cowboys and more NFL holiday matchups

Thanksgiving Day wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a full slate of NFL games.

The football tradition returns with the main course: the Detroit Lions, who host the Chicago Bears on Thursday afternoon. The Lions have played every year dating back to 1934 and hope to pick up their first Turkey Day win in nearly a decade.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys, who have been playing on Thanksgiving Day since 1966, return to take on their NFC East rival, the New York Giants. The Green Bay Packers close out the day against the Miami Dolphins, who put a stamp on the holiday last season when they defeated the New York Jets to win the league’s first-ever Black Friday game.

For an extra serving of football, the NFL has scheduled another Black Friday matchup, this time between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium at 3 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

Read below for more on this year’s Thanksgiving schedule.

The Lions open Thursday’s slate with a game against the Bears at home in what will be the organization’s 85th game on Thanksgiving Day since 1934. The Lions are 0-3 against the Bears in their last three meet-ups on the big day, and they haven’t won a Thanksgiving Day game since 2016. But this year could be different.

Detroit is 10-1, having won every single game since their Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Bears are hoping to tap into their previous luck and end their five-game slide.

With injuries plaguing the Lions this week, the player to watch will be star running back David Montgomery as he faces his former team. The Bears, who have lost three of their last five games on the final play, won’t have room for error if they want to stop the Lions’ stellar run game.

The Cowboys host the struggling Giants at home on Thursday, but it’s not the home-field advantage fans are expecting to see.

Despite winning 14 of their last 15 matchups, the Cowboys are 0-5 this season at AT&T Stadium, and a win in what will be the organization’s 57th Thanksgiving Day game could be exactly what they need to keep building momentum after snapping a five-game losing streak with a win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The Giants enter Thursday’s matchup with more questions surrounding the quarterback position even after releasing Daniel Jones last week. Fan-favorite Tommy DeVito walked away from his first start this season with a sore throwing arm. He is questionable for Thursday, while Drew Lock readies for what could be his first start this season.

The Packers headline Thursday’s slate with a prime-time match up against the Dolphins in what could be freezing temps. The weather forecast for Thanksgiving night at Lambeau Field is expected to be in the 30s with lows in the mid-20s, but the cold weather comes amid a hot streak for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Big wins over the New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders saw Tagovailoa throw seven touchdown passes without an interception, and now the team is in the hunt for its fourth straight win and a spot in the playoffs.

But the Packers have won their last three matchups against the Dolphins and are looking to make it four with their second consecutive Thanksgiving game. Green Bay is 4-0 against AFC teams this season.

Dolphins' Zach Sieler performs Trump dance after big play vs Patriots

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Zach Sieler is the latest NFL player to perform President-elect Donald Trump’s famous dance move after he made a big play against the New England Patriots.

Sieler helped thwart a Patriots drive in the third quarter with the team already up big. He did the celebration with teammates Calais Campbell and Emmanuel Ogbah looking on.

Miami won the game 34-15 to improve to 5-6 on the season and with their playoff hopes still intact. Sieler had four tackles in the game, including two sacks and one tackle for a loss.

Even Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was impressed with the defensive tackle.

"Up early thinking about how good Zach sieler is," Hill wrote on X early Monday.

Sieler is the latest NFL player to perform the Trump dance move. He followed Calvin Ridley, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Brock Bowers and Nick Bosa to do it in the NFL.

UFC star Jon Jones, soccer star Christian Pulisic and LPGA Tour star Charley Hull have also done the move as well.

EAGLES' SAQUON BARKLEY SETS FRANCHISE SINGLE-GAME RUSHING RECORD IN STATEMENT WIN OVER RAMS

The NFL confirmed to Fox News Digital last week that the league had "no issue" with it, and players would not be fined for doing the celebration.

Former soccer goalkeeper Tim Howard slammed Pulisic for doing the Trump dance and for "glorifying" him. However, Howard has been one of the few criticizing athletes, in any sport, for doing the Trump dance.

NFL great Brian Urlacher shared on "Jesse Watters Primetime" why he thought players were doing the dance now.

"People were scared for a while. You don’t want people to talk bad about you, how we’ve been talked about the last four years if you’re a Donald Trump supporter," Urlacher said.

"I think now, no one’s scared anymore. It’s nice to see these guys coming out and everyone who’s a silent Trump supporter – he under polls always. … I think they’re just excited now that he got the job done, and he’s gonna get the job done the next four years."

Dolphins' Jonnu Smith says teammate Calais Campbell is 'like the LeBron James of the NFL'

The Miami Dolphins have battled their fair share of turbulence this season.

At one point, the Dolphins owned a 2-6 record. However, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's return from injury has stabilized the team's offense and helped Miami win its last two games.

During the offseason, former Miami Hurricanes star Calais Campbell decided to return to South Florida and signed with the Dolphins.

The six-time Pro Bowler is in the midst of his 17th NFL season, and the experienced veteran defensive tackle has made a profound impact on the 2024 Dolphins — if you ask one of his teammates. Tight end Jonnu Smith recently praised Campbell, 38, for continuing to showcase his ability to be a key contributor.

"Calais is one of my favorite teammates in all the sports that I've played," Smith said during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."

Campbell recorded his fourth sack of the year during Miami's 34-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11. Campbell's four sacks are the most by any player on the Dolphins roster this season. He now has 109.5 career sacks.

WHY COWBOYS SHOULD GO ALL-IN FOR DEION, SHEDEUR SANDERS DESPITE DAK PRESCOTT'S CONTRACT

The veteran defensive lineman has also played an important role in Miami's run defense. However, Campbell's impact extends beyond the football field. The 2019 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year has brought more leadership to the Dolphins locker room.

"He's like the LeBron James of the NFL right now as far as his age and the production that he brings to the game, still playing at a high level. I mean, the guy is 1,000 years old and playing like he's 21."

Campbell is among the short list of NFL athletes who have played the defensive lineman position who have been able to continue playing — let alone make an impact — once they reach their late-30s.

Smith, who was also teammates with Campbell in Atlanta with the Falcons last season, then described Campbell as the "best leader" he has been around.

If Campbell is able to log two more sacks over the course of the Dolphins' seven remaining games, he will pass former Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald for 40th on the all-time list.

The Dolphins will welcome the New England Patriots in Week 12 for an AFC East division showdown.
