Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is engaged to his girlfriend, Haley Cavinder!
Cavinder, 24, shared the big news via TikTok on Thursday, April 17, flashing her engagement ring in a video alongside Ferguson, 26. In the clip, the couple can be seen celebrating on the beach and smiling as Cavinder shows off her ring.
Cavinder, a Miami Hurricanes college basketball player, set the video to the tune of “Low Life” by Future, which includes the lyrics, “That’s your wifey, wifey, wifey, wifey.”
In a separate post via her Instagram Story, Cavinder again showed off her engagement ring in a close-up photo.
According to Sports Illustrated, Ferguson and Cavinder began dating in 2023. In September 2024, Cavinder celebrated the couple’s first anniversary via Instagram with a series of photos of her and Ferguson, which she captioned, “A year w ferg.”
Cavinder and her twin sister Hanna both play for the Miami Hurricanes and are also well-known social media influencers with over 4 million TikTok followers.

In March, Cavinder announced that she is stepping away from basketball.
“18 years later, and it’s time to say goodbye to the game I’ve loved since I was six,” she shared via Instagram. “Thank you for an amazing basketball career. Nothing will ever fill the void of you or the feeling of accomplishing my dream—playing the sport I love with my twin by my side. The places you took me, the relationships built, and the opportunities you gave me—I will forever be grateful.”
Though people often forget that HBO stands for “Home Box Office,” you should never forget that its library of movies is extensive, delightful and available to watch from your couch.
Max, HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s premium streaming service, has a surprising number of romantic comedies. Get swept off your feet with these swoon-worthy flicks!
He’s Just Not That Into You is based on a book, which is itself based on a line of dialogue from an episode of Sex and the City. The movie’s sprawling origin story feels relevant to its plot, which features a large ensemble cast of interconnected characters. Each couple (or trio or quartet) includes one person who is much more invested in the relationship than the other — an imbalance that almost any viewer can relate to.
The connective thread is Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin), a hopeless romantic who is constantly pursuing disinterested men. When she meets Alex (Justin Long), an aloof bartender, he begins giving her advice about how to interpret signals from guys. Meanwhile, their friends and coworkers are stuck in their own romantic entanglements. The impressive cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Kevin Connolly.
ABBA + Meryl Streep + stunning Greek island vistas = perfection. This movie version of the jukebox musical is a sparkling, effervescent affair about Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), a young woman desperate to learn the identity of her father before her wedding to Sky (Dominic Cooper). But her mother Donna (Streep) doesn’t know exactly who Sophie’s father is. There are three candidates — Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Bill (Stellan Skarsgård) or Harry (Colin Firth). Certain that she’ll know her dad as soon as she meets him, Sophie invites all three men to the wedding.
What follows is a farcical romantic musical comedy full of stellar choreography, funny dialogue and a sweet message about true love — for a partner but also for yourself. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters are particularly delightful as Donna’s best friends and former bandmates who help her as she tries to balance her unexpected reunion with her three exes and her daughter’s upcoming nuptials.
Crazy Rich Asians was groundbreaking for the mainstream spotlight it placed on Asian (particularly Chinese) characters and actors. It features stars like Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan and Awkwafina in a love story about class, wealth and culture.
Rachel (Wu) is a New York economics professor happily in love with Nick Young (Henry Golding). When Nick takes Rachel to Singapore for the wedding of his best friend, Rachel learns that Nick’s family is part of Singapore’s wealthy high society. Not only are Nick and Rachel constantly in the public eye, Nick’s mother Eleanor (Yeoh) has incredibly high expectations about who her son should marry. Rachel, as a middle-class American, meets none of those expectations.
Rachel has to fight for love and the future she wants in this movie, which features fantastic fashion, eye-catching settings and a soundtrack with music by Asian artists like Jasmine Chen. Rachel is an engaging, relatable protagonist who you’ll root for every step of the way.
A charming examination of love amid mental health issues, Silver Linings Playbook is a must-see romantic comedy that’s both heart-wrenching and heartwarming. Pat (Bradley Cooper) has recently completed a stint in a psychiatric facility after a violent episode when he caught his ex-wife Nikki (Brea Bee) cheating on him. Desperate to reconcile, Pat moves in with his parents, Patrizio Sr. and Dolores (Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver).
He meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a widow who is also dealing with mental health problems. She encourages Pat to compete with her in a ballroom dance contest to prove to Nikki that he’s changed. Unfortunately, Patrizio Sr.’s gambling problem and obsession with the Eagles cause him to pressure his son and drive a wedge between him and Tiffany. (Patrizio superstitiously believes Pat’s attention to Eagles games is necessary for the team to win.)
The tension is near constant in this pressure cooker of a movie, yet it still manages to deliver laughs. Lawrence, De Niro and Cooper make deeply flawed characters extremely likable, while the family dynamics are complex and relatable. If you’ve ever felt like your family is about to drive you off the deep end, this movie is for you.
Toula (Nia Vardalos) is a shy, awkward woman who has always felt like an outsider in her loud, effusive Greek American family. When she falls in love with WASP-y teacher Ian (John Corbett), she struggles to get her family to accept him. Throughout the movie, she learns to stand up for herself and the man she loves, but she also learns to appreciate the rich culture that makes her family unique. It’s a heartwarming, hilarious story.
Despite being over twenty years old, My Big Fat Greek Wedding remains the highest-grossing rom-com of all time — and rightfully so. The script, written by lead actress Vardalos, is instantly quotable and emotionally resonant. More importantly, Toula and Ian's romance is endlessly endearing. The movie spawned two sequels in 2016 and 2023, but the original remains the best of the bunch.
Based on the bestselling 1996 novel, this sharp and hilarious rom-com follows Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger), an ordinary “singleton” with a habit of ending up in ridiculously awkward situations, as she documents her quest for self-improvement in a wine-soaked diary. Caught between smug married friends and the pressures of turning 30, Bridget navigates the chaos of modern womanhood with humor and heart.
Things get even messier when she begins a flirtation with her charming scoundrel of a boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), and keeps crossing paths with the uptight but oddly endearing Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), who harbors an unexplained grudge against Daniel. Loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jones’s Diary is an entertaining chronicle of its title heroine’s journey of growth, misjudged first impressions and realizing that love rarely goes according to plan.
New Pornographers drummer Joe Seiders was recently arrested on charges including possession of child pornography.
The Canadian indie rock band said it had severed all ties with Seiders, 44, after his arrest was announced in a news release by local Palm Desert, California, police on Thursday, April 17.
“Everyone in the band is absolutely shocked, horrified, and devastated by the news of the charges against Joe Seiders—and we have immediately severed all ties with him. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by his actions,” the band said in a statement shared via Instagram.
The Riverside County sheriff’s office said Thursday that Seiders was arrested following two separate incidents on April 7 and April 9. Officers were dispatched to a “suspicious circumstance” in Palm Desert on April 7 and spoke to an 11-year-old boy who said that an “unknown male adult recorded him on a cell phone while he was using the restroom,” per a news release.
Two days later, the police department said it received a second report from the same location. An employee claimed a man was seen “entering and exiting the restroom with juvenile males.” Police took the suspect, later identified as Seiders, into custody.
Following an investigation, including search warrants to access Seiders’ home, car and cell phone, the musician was arrested on charges including possession of child pornography, annoying/molesting a child, invasion of privacy, and attempted invasion of privacy, the release said.
Seiders was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, California.
The New Pornographers formed in 1997; however, Seiders joined the group in 2014, replacing longtime drummer Kurt Dahle. The band’s current lineup, sans Seiders, consists of lead singer Neko Case, bassist John Collins, singer and guitarist Carl Newman, lead guitarist Todd Fancey and pianist Kathryn Calder.
The band’s name takes inspiration from the 1966 Japanese movie The Pornographers, Newman said in 2005.
“I saw the Japanese movie The Pornographers and I thought it was an interesting word,” Newman told Glide Magazine. “On the first Destroyer record, Dan [Bejar, former band member] has a song ‘The Pornographers.’ I remember wanting to put the word new in front of something like ‘the new sneakers of the new Christy Minstrels.’ I always thought that bands that put new in front of their name was somehow kind of modern in a false way. Like, do you really have to call yourself the new? Does it really have to be illustrated by those words. So I like the words ‘the pornographers,’ and ‘The New Pornographers’ just fell together. I don’t know, I can’t tell if it’s a bad name or s***** name.”

Haley Joel Osment is apologizing for using an anti semitic slur while being arrested, claiming he is “horrified” by his actions.
The Sixth Sense alum issued an apology via a statement on Thursday, April 17, telling Us Weekly, “I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”
Osment, 37, was arrested at a ski resort in Mammoth Lakes, California after police received a call around 2 p.m. local time about an allegedly intoxicated individual.
He was initially charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance after being taken into custody on April 8. He stayed in jail overnight before being released. The Mono County district attorney later confirmed on Thursday, April 17 that Osment has been charged with disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol and possession of cocaine.
“The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place,” he said. “But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage — I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”

Body cam footage obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, April 17, shows Osment being arrested at the ski resort.
In the footage, an officer approached Osment when he was being detained by four others in a parking lot in Mammoth Lakes. An officer who was already on site explained to the new officer that Osment was “beyond intoxication.”
Osment was put in handcuffs by the officers and the actor claimed multiple times he was “being attacked” by police during the arrest. During the altercation he made an anti semitic slur against the arresting officer.
One person in the background of the clip claimed that Osment had “lunged at a bartender” and another person alleged that Osment “couldn’t take care of himself.”
“He went to the bar, ordered one drink, he was so intoxicated that he spilled his drink … They served him one drink, he was so drunk he spilled it, and they cut him off,” the person claimed. “Then he got aggravated, argumentative, he tried to load the lift they refused to load the lift.”
Osment is set to be arraigned at the Mammoth Lakes branch of the Mono County Superior Court on July 7.
The Matlock season 1 finale finally revealed the season-long mystery of who hid those documents — but then introduced a surprise pregnancy and a mysterious new character.
During the Thursday, April 17, finale of the hit CBS series, Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) realized that her ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), was responsible for hiding the Wellbrexa documents. He begged Olympia not to expose him — not knowing she actually found the documents because of Matty’s (Kathy Bates) mission at Jacobson Moore.
Matty, meanwhile, was waiting for an update from Olympia when a stranger showed up at her door. All signs pointed to him being Alfie’s father, who Matty’s husband didn’t want them to reach out to after their daughter’s death.
Over at Jacobson Moore, Sarah (Leah Lewis) ran lead on her first case — and won! — but her nemesis Simone (Andrea Londo) appeared to be plotting a way to take her down. Then there is Billy (David Del Rio), who was preparing to enjoy single life until his almost-fiancée revealed to him that she’s expecting.
Creator Jennie Snyder Urman exclusively told Us Weekly that this was just the beginning, teasing, “The season 1 finale sets up everything. In season 2, you’ll get the answers that we’ve been promising.”
Urman is aware that expectations are high after the first season was full of twists and turns.
“It was both difficult and interesting to be in this bubble where we were shooting episode 17 when the first episode aired. We were already down the road and now we are airing and so we are in conversation with the audience and I try to be aware but not be beholden so that we are still telling the story,” she explained. “But I always think if there’s a problem — and they’re finding a problem — I can fix that more and more. I want the story to be as good as possible and as airtight as possible.”
According to Urman, viewers shouldn’t get too “comfortable,” adding, “It allows for the formula to change and for that to be its own stock. We have a lot of fun structural stuff like that next year that I think is going to really surprise the audience in really fun ways because the finale leaves us in a really loaded position on a bunch of different story lines.”

Why There Weren’t Any Big Hints About Julian’s Betrayal?
Jason Ritter as “Julian Markston”.CBS
“The winks were always things that Matty knew that she could let the audience in on. But Matty was not ahead of it in this,” Urman shared with Us. “Matty does not know that she has the document that she is really looking for. She thought it was Olympia up until a point and then she thought it was Julian. So because she wasn’t ahead of it — and we’re discovering it in real time with her — there isn’t foreshadowing in that way because we’re discovering with Matty.”
The writers’ room still wanted to make sure all the plot pieces fit together.
“We made sure it would line up. But the biggest storytelling challenge — and also fun challenge — is that we have a really, really smart character. All of them are, but Olympia and Matty in particular. So we have to work really hard to either have something pulled over on them or pull something over on someone else,” Urman noted. “It’s not like they will see all the subtle things, which I think makes it interesting. But there couldn’t be anything hanging out in plain daylight that indicated it would be Julian or Matty would’ve caught it.”
Was It Always the Plan to Have Olympia Find Out About Matty’s Real Identity?
Robert Voets/CBS
“I always knew that I wanted Olympia to catch her but I wanted us to switch point of views to show Olympia’s perspective. I wanted Olympia to surprise the audience and Matty the same way that Matty surprised us in the first episode,” Urman said. “That was always the plan. We played around a lot about when Olympia was going to unmask Matty for a while. It was a little bit earlier around episode 13 or 14. Then we realized, ‘Oh, we could have her unmasked and have this interrogation episode and that would lead to the finale.’ All the ways that that would load up the finale made it feel like the right order for us.”
What Else Changed — Or Didn’t Make It Into the Final Version?
“We stay pretty close to this document we generated at the beginning of the season, which is like 30 or 40 pages and really tells the story episode by episode. So we stick pretty close to the material, but we flip things,” Urman told Us. “Olympia was going to find out Matty’s secret earlier. CBS was really amazing. I said, ‘I have a little bit more story in the finale than one episode.’ And they let the creative dictate that. So we got to expand our episode order in order to tell the creative story that we wanted.”
She added: “There’s definitely been roads that we thought maybe we might go down that we didn’t go down. But we did stick pretty closely to what we mapped out.”
Throughout the season, all signs pointed to Olympia and Senior (Beau Bridges) before it turned out that Julian was the one at fault.
“He matters to the person who matters to Matty, which is Olympia. Olympia matters to Matty and Julian matters to her. It winds everybody up in the hardest dilemma. If it was Senior, it would be a little bit easier because everybody would be like, ‘OK, let’s turn him in and blow it up.’ He has definitely burned enough people and made enough enemies,” the screenwriter shared. “But Julian is not that character. He has done terrible things and has done wonderful things and has a life and a history and shared parenting. There’s just so much that makes him a complicated character. I just love Jason Ritter’s performance in that scene when he is begging Olympia. He explains that he made this one mistake and to please let him not be judged by the worst day of his life. Jason played it so real and so honest and heartbreaking.”
Urman didn’t want there to be a good option, saying, “There’s only bad options and everybody is compelling on every side. That’s what makes the dilemma really hard and the drama really rich and thick. It allows us to go into the next season with so many layers and different competing agendas and tensions. It just lays out a really packed emotional second season.”
Does This Mean Julian Will Be Explored More?
CBS
“He did this horrible thing and he’s holding secrets. He’s also trying to redeem himself and he’s fighting for a life for himself,” Urman shared. “It just allows him to play on so many different levels and allows the interactions with Matty to be loaded in different ways. It allows the Olympia interactions to be loaded in different ways. We have a lot more now that he’s integrated so specifically into that main plot. We get to see more of him, which I think makes everyone happy.”
Was the Man Who Showed Up at Matty’s House Alfie’s Father?
Sonja Flemming/CBS
In short? Yes.
“Bringing Alfie’s dad back is going to change and destabilize the family life. This one place where everything was on firm ground — suddenly there’s this other element that is out of Matty’s control, which is not a place that she likes to be,” Urman noted. “She’s not comfortable when they’re out of her control. They have to do a DNA test and see if this guy is the father. Suddenly they have to incorporate him into things. When did he know Ellie? What’s his status with addiction? Do they want to get involved?”
She continued: “It brings all of that to the forefront. It definitely brings Ellie back into the story in a real way. You will definitely see more flashbacks that examine some of the joy of Ellie and her mother and their relationship — not only the pain.”
Urman teased that Claudia’s pregnancy doesn’t mean Billy has to go back to pleasing other people over himself, telling Us, “You’re asking the questions that we ask in the writers’ room. But I can’t give it away because it’s all in the season 2 premiere.”
Where Does Sarah Go After That Career High?
Michael Yarish/CBS
“There might have been twists and turns along the way but she showed up in court and she did it. It was amazing. She feels celebrated and seen and it’s such a moment of triumph and we understand it emotionally,” Urman detailed. “Then of course we understand there’s going to be some drama that follows it. But I want to live in Sarah feeling like she’s in a good place and celebrate that before the rug gets pulled out from under her.”
Could Olympia and Matty Become Friends Again?
Michael Yarish/CBS
Urman called the central friendship “an epic love story,” adding, “We are shaping it as though it’s an epic love story over the course of seasons. Depending on what Olympia does with the document, it controls how their relationship will unfold. You’re really watching two people who love each other. It’s all really complicated right now and Matty loves Olympia. The question is, ‘Can Olympia forgive Matty?’ That’s where we lose them at the finale. Matty loves Olympia and if she could preserve the friendship and land the plane on her crime mission, that would be perfect.”
What Guest Stars Could Pop Up in Season 2?
Sonja Flemming/CBS
“I’ve gotten a few people who have reached out to me and a few people have reached out. I don’t want to say who,” Urman teased. “But it has definitely been exciting that there are people that are reaching out and saying, ‘I want to be on Matlock.’ And I know why they want to be on Matlock. They want to act with Kathy Bates. She is a legend. So I am eager to say yes to all of those asks.”
Matlock finally revealed who was responsible for stealing the Wellbrexa documents — but where will the show go from here?
During the season finale, which aired on Thursday, April 17, Julian (Jason Ritter) was unmasked as the person responsible for hiding the docs. When Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) confronted him, Julian begged her not to reveal his secret to anyone — despite Matty (Kathy Bates) waiting to find out whether Julian was at fault.
Ritter, 45, broke down that shocking moment in an exclusive interview, telling Us Weekly, “There was a point about halfway through the season where I was told that it was me. It was helpful because there were some things where in the story I can be a little coy or withholding. But you don’t know if it’s about the big lie or about some smaller lie.”
After being out of the loop in the first half of the season, Ritter was glad he knew ahead of the finale.
“At a certain point, I felt like it was important to know what it was. I didn’t decide when that moment was, but I trust [creator] Jennie [Snyder Urman] so much. I think she’s such a brilliant writer and showrunner,” he told Us. “So she pulled me aside at the exact right time and let me know what was going on. But I didn’t know how it was going to unfold.”
(L-R): Jason Ritter as “Julian Markston”.Michael Yarish/CBS
“To have it end like that with Olympia and Julian in this safety deposit box room where it is just the two of them begging for his life, that was the only version I ever read,” he shared. “When we did the table read, people really loved that scene and were like, ‘Oh, my gosh, what happens next?’ Which is exactly what you want for a cliffhanger.”
Julian’s reasoning was explored leading up to Thursday’s episode, and Ritter hopes viewers understand his decision, saying, “There’s a tragic element. From the beginning of the season, they set it up where you are like, ‘Whoever did this has to go to jail. That’s it.’ Now you can see the person behind it who still did a terrible thing, and that can’t be discounted.”
Ritter continued: “But as Jennie’s writing always is — it’s more complicated and layered than that. Human beings are complicated. It’s one thing as a lawyer in the world and then it’s another thing for Olympia to be talking to the father of her children and thinking about how it’s going to affect them going forward. They’ve created a huge mess and I can’t wait to see how they decide to clean it all up.”
According to Ritter, Julian may have regrets even though hasn’t vocalized his guilt outright. “He put those documents in that safety deposit box and spent probably 10 years thinking he was going to get caught,” he explained to Us. “Eventually he is raising kids and things start to look normal. Maybe him being a good dad offsets the terrible thing that he did. I don’t think that he ever thought that however many years later, this would come back and he would be fighting for his life.”
Matlock, which premiered in September 2024, follows a wealthy retired lawyer named Madeline Kingston (Bates) who pretends to be a poor widower named Matty Matlock to get a job at Jacobson Moore law firm. As it turns out, Matty thinks someone at the company is complicit in the opioid epidemic that resulted in her daughter’s death.
The first season revealed Julian’s mistake only to Olympia, but it remains unclear whether Olympia will tell Matty or protect Julian for the sake of their family.
“Olympia has such a strong moral center that if they didn’t have children together — even if they were married — she would say, ‘I’m sorry, but you did this.’ If Julian goes to jail or if Julian is outed, I don’t know what she will do,” Ritter teased. “I’m so interested to see. But I wonder if once she hears the reasoning being connected to his dad, will that be enough to refocus the energy on Senior? Or is that too far removed to actually ever get him in trouble?”
There’s also the topic of Olympia and Julian’s potential reconciliation.
“I don’t know where that leaves their romance. I think Olympia being such a good person and a morally straightforward person, it would be really hard for her to trust him again,” he told Us. “After the affair and now this huge, devestation, trust is such an important part. It’s so easy to destroy and so hard and painful. You can build it up, but it’s a lot of hard work for both people.”
“We’re going to see a lot more of Julian and get to know not only him. We got to meet his mother, which was very exciting for me. We may meet more members of his family. Julian is not Junior. So I’m very excited to meet my brother,” Ritter explained. “He has a completely different relationship with our dad than Julian does, which is also painful.”
Ritter is also excited for “more backstory,” saying, “Olympia talked a lot about his family, but we haven’t gotten to see a lot of it. It’s a really fun character to play. There’s so many different elements to him and it’s fun to be free of having to be one thing.”
The best part of the finale reveal? Knowing Julian will have more scenes with Matty.
“That’s the thing that I cannot stop thinking about because we don’t get that at the end of season. Is Matty going to know for sure that Julian did it? If she does know for sure that Julian did it, there’s so much pain and there’s so much anger about the loss of her daughter that how would these two people find a way forward that doesn’t involve Julian behind bars?” Ritter asked. “I’m so intrigued. Is there a moment where Matty understands why Julian did it and is able to forgive? Or are we just at odds for an entire season, which it totally could be. I just know that the writers will choose whatever is the most interesting and fascinating version.”
Matlock has been renewed for season 2 and all episodes are available to stream on Paramount+.
Sean William Scott’sex-wife, Olivia Korenberg, is claiming that the American Pie alum is trying to evict her and their four-year-old daughter from his $3 million home.
According to legal documents filed on Friday, April 11, Korenberg, 35, filed a motion in court to change the child custody and support agreement the pair currently have in place, which gives the former couple joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
Korenberg’s motion asks the court to block Scott’s attempt to have her and the child move out of the Malibu mansion that they currently reside in, which the actor owns.
Scott’s alleged move to evict his ex and daughter comes just weeks after Korenberg asked Scott if her new boyfriend, who she had been dating for five months, could meet their daughter, per the court documents.
According to the documents, Korenberg also wants the court to allow her and the former couple’s daughter to move more than 20 miles from Scott, as she claims she is no longer able to afford to live in the affluent California suburb following her break up with Scott. Per the documents she claims Scott is adamant that Korenberg and their child remain within 20 miles of his Malibu home.
Scott and Korenberg married in September, 2019 and listed their date of separation as October 2, 2023 in their initial divorce filing. They officially finalized their divorce in May 2024.
Jose Perez/INSTARimages.com
According to the legal filing, Korenberg informed Scott in November 2024 that she had plans to introduce her new partner, who she had been seeing for five months, to their daughter. Korenberg also allegedly asked Scott if he wanted to meet her partner first – an offer he turned down.
Several weeks later, Scott reportedly informed Korenberg that he is selling the $3 million house she and their daughter currently live in and gave them a vacate date of May 3, 2025.
In the filing, Korenberg said she was “blindsided” by the eviction and claimed she and her daughter will have nowhere to live as of June 30.
“[Our daughter] and I will have nowhere to live. I cannot afford housing in Malibu. Further, it is not secure to continue living in Malibu, as we have evacuated numerous times due to wildfires,” Korenberg said in the filing.
Korenberg also claimed in the filing that Scott has “significant financial resources and assets, including his debt-free Malibu home worth over $10 million, and an empty debt-free home in Venice worth over $4 million,” due to his successful acting career spanning more than two decades.
Us Weekly has reached out to Seann William Scott’s representatives for comment.

9-1-1fans have been left devastated after the shocking death of a major core character.
Warning: Spoilers below for season 8, episode 15, of 9-1-1.
Captain Bobby Nash, played by Peter Krause, who has appeared on the show since its inception in 2018, was killed off in the second half of the gripping two-part event that aired on Thursday, April 17.
The two-part thriller saw Bobby and the 118 called to a research lab at the Southern California Institute of Technology, which had become a biohazard after being set on fire. The dire scenario led to Howard ‘Chimney’ Han (Kenneth Choi) contracting a deadly and rare virus, which could only be cured by a single vaccine.
When Chimney managed to get his hands on the cure — thanks to Buck (Oliver Stark) and Athena’s (Angela Bassett) efforts — Bobby hid the truth about his mask breaking so Chimney would take the vaccine for himself. It was revealed that Bobby had also become infected with the deadly virus, and sacrificed himself so Chimney could survive.
Bobby then said a tearful goodbye to Buck and wife Athena, explaining that Los Angeles was never supposed to be “home.”(He initially traveled there to repent after his family died from an apartment fire he started in Minnesota.)
Taking to social media following his character’s shocking death, Krause posted an open letter via X as he paid tribute to his character and all those involved in bringing him to life.

“I would like to thank Dana Walden, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and [showrunner] Tim Minear for entrusting me with such a complex character over these nine years. It has been my honor to portray Captain Bobby Nash,” he wrote.
“In October 2017, through him, we began tackling topics such as grief, guilt, anger and addiction while exploring his relationship with a higher power, forgiveness and grace. On his path of healing, we watched him join and embrace both his new family at the firehouse and his new family with Athena Grant where he found love and acceptance. We also had plenty of fun along the way. It was a joy.”
Krause also touched on fans of the show feeling sad over the character’s death, describing it as feeling like a “loss.”
“I’ve heard that many fans are upset by this loss and they have a right to be. It is a loss. That said, it was more than a bold creative choice on a bold show. Bobby Nash was written in sacrifice and he was built for this. First responders risk their lives on the job so that others can see another day. His story arc honors them. We at 9-1-1 salute all the incredible men and women who do these dangerous jobs and strive to keep us safe,” he added.
Krause also admitted he will “miss” the cast and crew he worked with over the past decade.
“I will miss all my 9-1-1 family. Our incredible crew whose professional excellence is second to none. All the writers who keep pulling rabbits out of hats. All the directors tasked with the same. All the incredible guest cast over the years as well as Jennifer Love Hewitt and the cast in the call center,” Krause wrote. “I will miss my partner, Angela Bassett. Her strength and her sweetness, and us holding hands. We parted ways too soon. Much love.”
The first season of Doctor Odyssey isn’t even over yet, but the show already hinted at several main cast exits — including Joshua Jackson.
During the Thursday, April 17, episode of the ABC series, the Crew Week theme meant a break for the staff at the Odyssey. But while Tristan’s (Sean Teale) time off without guests meant more time for hookups, Max (Jackson) and Avery (Phillipa Soo) were both hinting that their time on the ship would be over soon.
Avery was fresh off the realization that she was never pregnant with Tristan and/or Max’s baby. Instead, she received a false positive that threw her for a loop and now she was back on track. That meant Avery was planning to go to medical school in a month’s time — despite Max hinting that he wanted them to explore a real romance together.
Then there was Max, who decided to go home and visit his twin brother. While Us usually loves nothing more than seeing Jackson — twice — it set up Max contemplating a life not on the high seas. Max even had a job interview, but that just reminded him of what he loved about being a doctor on the Odyssey.
Max returned with more love for his job, which meant he probably won’t be leaving any time soon. But Avery still seemed divided because Max wasn’t the only man who told her about his feelings for her. Spencer (Marcus Emanuel Mitchell) also reminisced about their past situationship before a parasitic medical emergency changed the subject. Then there was Tristan, who wanted Avery to know that he still wanted to fight for her as well.
Disney/Ray Mickshaw
Luckily, there’s still several episodes before the medical drama’s first season comes to an end. Doctor Odyssey, which premiered in September 2024, quickly won Us over with its out-of-the-box medical cases, star-studded guest stars and a chance for Jackson, 46, to have some fun on screen.
“[Cocreator] Ryan [Murphy]‘s imagination is prolific and bizarre in its ability to hold [space] for the absolutely grotesque and absurd — and then there are his lighter and happier shows. All of that being inside of one man’s imagination is amazing,” Jackson exclusively told Us Weekly in March. “I will say that for myself, I have wanted to work for Ryan for quite a long time.”
Jackson credited Murphy for being the reason why he joined the project. “Ryan’s word was sparkle. He said, ‘Make sure that my show sparkles,'” he recalled. “And we have tried to make sure that this show sparkles as much as possible and just hope that the joy that we feel in performing it and doing it all together is what comes across while you’re watching it.”
The actor also weighed in on the central love triangle — including whether it could become a throuple in the future.
Disney/Tina Thorpe
“I feel like Ryan’s approach to this is a much more adult approach than when I’ve done this on previous shows. It was a ballsy thing to do to not just have the triangle be consummated but to have them consummated together. I have to say [that is] one of the things I’m most proud of [with] us this year,” he shared. “There are still certain limitations and restrictions to doing something on network television because of the standards and practice issues that you deal with. [We were] able to take something that is very challenging and daring and play inside of the box of network TV.”
Jackson was thrilled to explore “what you can and cannot show” while creating a “very sexy and challenging” dynamic.
“It was within the boundaries of what we are allowed to do, [and] that is one of the high watermarks of what we were able to achieve from directorial to writing to acting,” he told Us. “Everybody came together to make something that you really hadn’t seen before — particularly on network TV. I think we did a pretty good job with that.”
Doctor Odyssey airs on ABC Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Hulu.
Haley Joel Osment claimed he was being “attacked” by police during his recent arrest.
According to body cam footage obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, April 17, an officer approached Osment, 37, when he was being detained by four others in a parking lot in Mammoth Lakes, California.
“I’m trying to walk back to,” Osment told the cop arriving at the scene while being held back.
An officer who was already on site explained to the new officer that Osment was “beyond intoxication.”
“He lunged at the bartender, we were very nice and calm,” a person in the background claimed.
Osment was then cuffed by the officers and shouted “I’m being attacked” multiple times.
“You’re being detained,” an officer told the actor.
The authorities suggested that Osment should stop resisting arrest and the actor asked what he was “doing wrong.”
Osment was subsequently searched and was asked if there was, “dope in here,” which Osment denied. The officers also asked Osment for his name and he elected not to respond.
“It’s a very simple question,” an officer asked to which Osment replied, “I’m an American, man.”
Another person at the scene claimed that Osment “couldn’t take care of himself.”
“He went to the bar, ordered one drink, he was so intoxicated that he spilled his drink … They served him one drink, he was so drunk he spilled it, and they cut him off,” the person alleged. “Then he got aggravated, argumentative, he tried to load the lift they refused to load the lift.”
Us confirmed on Wednesday, April 16, that Osment was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance after being taken into custody on April 8. He was arrested after police revealed a call about an allegedly intoxicated person at the ski resort. He has since been released from custody.
According to a video obtained by TMZ, Osment was attempting to board a chairlift despite not having his snowboard. A staff member and guest asked that Osment get out of line.
Osment was reportedly booked for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, per TMZ, which was the first to report the news. The substance was sent to a lab for testing, per the outlet. Ski patrol was present when authorities arrived and arrested Osment. Osment stayed in jail overnight. Us has reached out to Osment for comment.
The Mono County district attorney later confirmed that Osment had been charged with disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol and possession of cocaine. Osment will be arraigned at the Mammoth Lakes branch of the Mono County Superior Court on July 7.
“I thought I was already dark and deep in a hole from what happened to me from the incident in North Carolina and [Gary Wayt] leaving me in the mountains,” Amber, 34, shared on the Thursday, April 17, episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, when referencing her ex briefly going missing in 2024. “But when I found out about my daughter saying that she wanted to be adopted, it took over everything.”
In a March episode of the MTV reality show, Leah expressed to her dad, Gary Shirley, that she would like stepmom Kristina Shirley to formally adopt her.
Cameras rolled as Gary decided to meet with an attorney to discuss the next legal steps. At the time, Leah agreed that she had to think over the issue some more before agreeing to officially file paperwork.
“I was really in bed for over four months,” Amber shared in a confessional interview, “but I just realized that I truly just needed my mommy.”
Although Amber had a complicated relationship with mom Tonya Portwood over the years, the pair reconnected after the reality star needed a “shoulder to cry on” during tough times.

“I’ve seen my mom three times in just these last few weeks when I hadn’t seen her in almost a year,” Amber shared. “When I wake up crying, all I do is call [her].”
During the episode, Amber met with her mom for dinner and expressed her hope that Tonya would meet her psychiatrist to better understand what she is going through mentally.
“I’m not just bipolar,” Amber explained of her diagnosis. “I have four major mental illnesses that I would like to have him explain to you.”
While Tonya offered her support, she also inadvertently upset her daughter when she confessed to still receiving texts from Leah. (During a recent episode, Leah expressed her wish that Amber didn’t attend her 16th birthday celebrations.)
During dinner, Amber shared her fears that her daughter is “never going to come around.”
At the same time, she couldn’t help but acknowledge the growth she has experienced with her own mother.
“I see how my relationship with my mom was completely tumultuous, and today I’m with my mom,” Amber said in a confessional. “I love my mom so much. This is why I have hope with Leah.”
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter airs on MTV Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
For Nick and Mike Fiorito, finding a bracelet in a haystack required intervention from The Amazing Race’s doctors.
“We had to actually stop [the challenge] and get medical attention for a few minutes because we were about to have a heat stroke,” Mike, 28, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, April 17, following their elimination. “We were so determined to not stop.”
During the episode, which took place in Bulgaria, Mike and Nick, 32, chose to complete the Woodstack option for The Detour challenge. The brothers hit a snag when they were one kilogram short and had to complete another round of delivering wood. Once they finished that task, they were in a footrace with Melinda and Erika Papadeas to get to the next portion of the race.
The teams came across a U-Turn, and the mother-daughter duo decided to choose Nick and Mike, fearing they were competing for last place. (No team realized that Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge, who were typically in the front of the race, had gotten lost and were three hours behind everyone.)
Nick and Mike had to go back and perform the other option of the Detour: The Haystack challenge. The task required teams to search for a bracelet hidden in one of three bales of hay. As the pair searched for a tiny bracelet in a literal haystack, the weather had an effect on Nick and Mike.
“When you look at us on TV and you see us kicking the hay, it almost looks like we’re just giving up and just like kicking hay. But that was literally all the energy we had left in our body,” Mike explained. “The sun was so extremely hot and it was right on top of us.”
Nick noted that the grueling effort from the Woodstack task also zapped a lot out of them.
“We had just finished carrying 400 pounds of wood and running back and forth three times. So we were really exhausted,” Nick told Us. “And then — like Mike said — the sun did not help and the hay was extremely itchy as well. So it was just like a perfect storm of unfortunate events and our energy level really went very low.”
Mike Fiorito and Nick FioritoCBS
Mike and Nick spent a total of six hours in the field in search of a bracelet. At one point, the duo contemplated taking a time penalty. However, they ultimately decided against it since it would have been an extra “eight hours” on top of what they’d already done.
“It was something outrageous, like somewhere between six and eight hours. And at that point we’re like, ‘OK, that doesn’t not make any sense to take it’ because we were already hours into this challenge,” Mike told Us. “So to add that many hours on top of it just wouldn’t make any sense. So we just said, ‘We gotta just keep fighting through here.’”
Nick and Mike never found the bracelet, and never made it to the pit stop. Host Phil Keoghan appeared at the challenge to eliminate the brothers in a “bittersweet” moment.
“[Phil] had a line basically where he said he came to take us out of our misery. And to be honest with you, he did,” Mike quipped. “We were really beaten down by that sun, by that hay just exhausted beyond measure. That was a bright point that we could stop now.”
Being on The Amazing Race was a lifelong dream for Nick and Mike. The pair applied to be on the show over the course of seven years before they got selected for season 37.
“Watching it from your couch is one thing, but experiencing it and living it in real life is a whole nother thing. We got to see countries that we never even heard of. We never heard of Bulgaria before,” Mike shared. “So we got to see cultures and the way different people live their lives. And that was something that you can do from your couch, but it’s a whole different feeling when you experience it firsthand.”
While they didn’t walk away with the million dollar prize, the pair are looking on the bright side as they lived out their dream of competing in the race.
“At first watching last night, I’m not gonna lie, I felt like a loser. It felt like we lost, we gave it our all and it just wasn’t good enough. And there was shame attached to it and just a lot of negativity. Then I realized, maybe some of that is true, if I choose to believe it,” Nick reflected. “At the same time, you know what else is true, we’re winners because we did give it our all until the very end. We didn’t give up. We made it on the show after seven years of trying and inspired so many people with that alone.”
The Amazing Race airs on CBS Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Paramount+ the next day.
Lucas and Lauren’s skinny dipping scene on Ransom Canyon allowed Garrett Wareing to bare himself as an actor like never before.
“I’m all about body positivity,” Wareing, 23, exclusively told Us Weeklyabout his memorable scene before quipping, “All of my friends on set saw my naked body, but now I guess everybody who has Netflix can see my naked body.”
Wareing was thankful for the opportunity, adding, “But I’m really grateful for the chance to be able to lean into that body positivity and embrace myself in that way.”
Netflix’s newest romantic western, which premiered on Thursday, April 17, introduced Us to the fictional Texas town full of drama, love and hot cowboys. Wareing plays inevitable fan favorite cowboy Lucas Russell, who charmed Us and his love interest Lauren’s (Lizzy Greene) by stripping down to take a secret swim together, which didn’t turn out as expected but fans still caught a glimpse of the actor putting quite a lot on display.
“Everyone likens me to a golden retriever. Part of me wants to be like a Rottweiler or a pit bull but it’s all golden retriever. So Lucas is very, very much that guy. It felt very close to me — not only being from Texas — but also being the golden retriever and being able to play that role,” Wareing noted. “Given some of the fun scenes I got to have — specifically the skinny dipping and the mud wrestling — I would say every character is a version of you and this is a version of myself that I’m very proud to play and very grateful to be able to share with the world.”
Wareing knew Lucas was the right role, because he would “have the most fun with” certain scenes.
Netflix
“That was going to be playing the cowboy, going to cowboy camp, skinny dipping, mud wrestling and that line dance sequence,” he detailed. “And a little secret for you about the skinny dipping scene:that was the coldest water I have ever been in. I think we were freshly past winter in New Mexico. It was at elevation, we were in the mountains and I saw God that day.”
Despite the tough conditions, Wareing was “not a wimp,” adding, “I opted to do it as many times as production needed and we did it safely. I had my dear friend who was our safety diver who I had brought in and I was definitely in there for a while. I go under the water too — to add to injury. I had to go underwater and also I’m butt naked, so that was quite the day for sure on Ransom Canyon.”
That instantly iconic scene scored Wareing a place in Us‘ Guys We Googled Shirtless selection — but it wasn’t the only highlight of the show. Wareing specifically recalled going to cowboy camp for research.
“We showed up to New Mexico and we were aware that we were going to go through the ringer for cowboy training. I — being from Texas — wanted to claim this ownership of being a cowboy. But if I showed up to that cowboy camp and told them that I knew how to ride a horse the way that they knew how to ride a horse, they’d all laugh at me,” he recalled about spending “three hours a day” for a month learning the basics. “We were learning how to rope. We also learned how to ride horses, hit marks on horses, ride in tandem with one another, get that walk into a trot, that trot into a leap and do that comfortably and safely, which was the most important part.”
Netflix
He continued: “Then once we got proficient at that, they started incorporating the lasso. We started practicing on this roping dummy and then we would upgrade to a dummy that was a mechanical bull basically pulled by a horse. We would go behind this robot bull and rope it on horseback.”
The experience allowed Wareing to “become the cowboy” he always wanted to be.
“I felt like I finally earned my stripes as a cowboy through cowboy camp with all of my friends that definitely brought us together and we bonded through that,” he added. “I think being a cowboy is a state of mind. It’s a state of being that’s a steadfast, sure and confident version of yourself.”
Bethenny Frankel is ready for a change of scenery — and is officially trading in New York’s cityscapes for Florida’s beaches.
“I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons,” Frankel, 54, announced via an Instagram video on Thursday, April 17. “Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest for myself and my daughter.”
The former Real Housewives of New York City star explained, “We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York. This will be our primary and permanent residence.”
Frankel then panned the camera from her face to the ocean waves and sandy beaches of Florida’s coast. “This will be my backyard,” she gushed.
“Excited to share this with you … It’s been a concept for a while, but personal & private circumstances have made this the healthiest life choice,” Frankel reiterated in the social media caption. “#florida #sunshinestate #xoxo #moving #lifechange.”
Courtesy of Bethenny Frankel/Instagram
Earlier this month, Frankel hinted at her move by sharing a photo of U-Haul boxes stacked up in what appeared to be her house.
“Life is good albeit with some unexpected stressful surprises … Moments with good friends, food, laughs, and as always a little chaos,” she captioned the Instagram post, teasing, “So many exciting changes coming soon… but you nosy B’s will just have to wait and see xoxo #lifelately #goodlife #suprises #happy.”
Frankel’s relocation comes nearly one year after Us Weekly broke the news that the reality star called off her engagement to Paul Bernon. The couple dated six years before pulling the plug on their romance in May 2024.
“They are so different — he’s an under the radar kind of guy,” a source exclusively told Us of the reason behind their split, noting “it just wasn’t going to work.” (Bernon and Frankel lived together in Boston in 2019, but sources told Usthey were house hunting the New England area ahead of their nuptials.)
Prior to dating Bernon, Frankel was married to Jason Hoppy from 2010 to 2012, before parting ways. The exes, who share daughter Bryn, 14, finalized their divorce in March 2021 after a lengthy legal battle.
Frankel was linked to Tom Villante in 2024, before confirming last month that she was back in the dating game. “I am dating,” she said on the March 13 episode of the “Hot Mess” podcast. “I have always, sort of, wanted to know exactly what everything is, and I’m trying to let the wine breathe more vs. need to know what it is.”
Frankel explained that she doesn’t care right now about “what the label is or that I’m getting married [or not].”
The business mogul, who owns Skinny Girl and other companies, confessed that dating hasn’t been easy at times because of her success. Frankel admitted she’s been guilty of “dumbing [herself] down” with some men.
“I don’t want to make them feel bad. I’m telling them how their thing is the same thing as my thing,” she continued. “So, it’s nice to be with someone who’s not in even the same business. So, it doesn’t feel adjacent or competitive.”
“As cliché as it sounds, it was the toughest experience, the most beautiful on every level, and working with Martin Scorsese, I definitely was a student again of film,” Emmett told L.A. Business First in January 2017, recalling their first collaboration. “Now I feel like a partner and a friend and an ally after going through the war together after coming out the other side. It feels great and I’m very proud.”
While the duo’s second project, The Irishman, was an Oscar-nominated film, their first movie caused friction from the start. In April 2025, Emmett made headlines when his and Scorsese’s Wall of White was blocked from casting due to his alleged misconduct with past films.
The Writers Guild of America West claimed that Emmett “failed to pay” more than $700,000 in compensation and more to WGA writers. The union called for its members to boycott the project, prohibiting them from signing on to star in it. Emmett claimed in a statement that he was working on resolving the issue with the WGA.
Scroll down to see Scorsese and Emmett’s relationship from the beginning:
Emmett first teamed up with Scorsese to produce 2016’s Silence starring Adam Driver, Andrew Garfield and Liam Neeson. The movie was the brainchild of Scorsese, who had been trying to make it for years before Emmett signed on. Scorsese was the director as well as a producer and writer on the project. Emmett was a producer.
“I flew to New York and sat with him. It was a very simple interview. He said, ‘Well, tell me about you,’” Emmett recalled to HuffPost Entertainment in 2017 of how he got the gig. “I said, ‘I went to film school about 20 blocks from here. It’s an honor to be in the room with you.’ What else am I going to say?”
After Scorsese asked Emmett’s opinion on the movie, he responded, “All I have to say is one thing: ‘Whatever you want, you can have. I just want to be side by side with you. It’ll be like my graduate film school.’” Emmette remembered Scorsese laughing and saying, “‘I like this kid.’ The rest is history.”

Following the release of Silence, Emmett had nothing but nice things to say about working with Scorsese, whom he now considered a friend.
“It’s the pinnacle for any actor or producer or financier. For me, going to film school, I don’t think I ever thought in my mind I would make a Martin Scorsese movie,” Emmett told HuffPost Entertainment in December 2017. “The moment came, and it was surreal.”
The High Rollers producer remembered being in awe of Scorsese once he was seated in front of him brainstorming their project.
“There were these moments in the south of France when we were sitting after doing the work all day. It’s 6 or 7 o’clock at night and we’re having a glass of wine, and he starts talking about film preservation and restoration. It’s just surreal,” Emmett gushed. “The greatest filmmaker talking about movies and making Raging Bull. It’s overload.”

When Emmett signed on for Silence, he was also bookmarked to reunite with Scorsese on The Irishman. The gangster film premiered on Netflix in November 2019 and starred Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. Scorsese was once again the director on the project and both he and Emmett were producers. The Irishman was nominated for 10 Oscars.

Working alongside the legendary director inspired Emmett when he made his directorial debut with Midnight in the Switchgrass. Emmett recalled learning how to lead from his time on Scorsese’s sets.
“He really made me feel like family, and he didn’t have to do that,” Emmett told Variety in July 2021 of Scorsese. “I want to be that kind of filmmaker, I want everybody to feel part of the journey. When you make a film, it takes a whole village of all of us together. And Marty taught me that you need everybody; everybody’s important. I’m really grateful that I got to learn that from him.”

During Emmett’s relationship with Vanderpump Rules alum Kent, the couple spent time with Scorsese. Following their 2018 engagement, Kent exclusively told Us Weekly that Emmett was in “such a different world than I am. It’s like, while I’m filming a reality TV show, he’s producing movies with Martin Scorsese.”
In addition to the name drop, the duo were photographed with the Goodfellas director at an Oscars after party in 2020 before Kent and Emmett called it quits in November 2021.
Despite parting ways, Kent and Emmett appear to both have a connection to Scorsese. “He actually said to me, ‘You do great work,’” Kent told Rolling Stone in May 2023, while reflecting on Scorsese’s love of her Bravo reality show. “His producing partner at the time was a Vanderpump fanatic, so it could have been shown to him that way as well.”
She teased, “I don’t know if he’s tuning in every Wednesday to catch the new episode of Vanderpump Rules, but Martin Scorsese knows that Vanderpump Rules exists. And that is good enough for me.”

Emmett and Scorsese’s third project, Wall of White, hit a roadblock in April 2025 when the Writers Guild of America West slammed Emmett via social media. The Writers Guild of America west coast affiliate revealed via X that Emmett, who founded Convergence Entertainment Group, “has been on the WGA/Unfair List since 2020.”
The union claimed that two companies Emmett founded “failed to pay over $700,000 in compensation, P&H contributions and interest due to WGA writers.” As a result of the alleged misconduct, the union told its members they are forbidden to work on Wall of White.
“Emmett has a long history of refusing to honor obligations to writers and the Guild has filed numerous arbitration claims against companies owned by Emmett over the last decade,” the email sent by the union claimed, according to the Los Angeles Times, adding that the guild prohibits “members from working for or selling literary material to companies or individuals who are on the Strike/Unfair List.”
Emmett responded to the accusations in April 2025, issuing a statement to The Times. “We are fully financing this movie, and we have every intention to settle this dispute in the coming weeks,” the statement read. “Our representatives will be reaching out to the Writers Guild so we can put this matter from six years ago behind us.”
Us Weekly reached out to Scorsese for comment at the time.
Ashley Greene is proud of her new horror film, It Feeds — but shooting her first movie after giving birth wasn’t always easy.
“This [movie] was tough for me because it was my first movie post having my little girl, and I think we were six months in, and so I’d been on set for the longest that I’d ever been on set,” Greene, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly. “I was breast-feeding, and so I was pumping on set and your hormones are going everywhere. And then I was, like, having to go home to this little angel and try to separate these two things. It really was challenging for me.”
In the supernatural thriller, Greene portrays Cynthia, a clairvoyant mother who is on a mission with her daughter, Jordan (Ellie O’Brien), to save a girl named Riley (Shayelin Martin) from a demonic entity. While having to balance new motherhood — Greene gave birth to daughter Kingsley, whom she shares with husband Paul Khoury, in September 2022 — with such a heavy role was admittedly “hard” for Greene, she used the character’s strengths to help her along.
“Thankfully, I think, with Cynthia, you can always find stuff that you can use to your advantage also vs. letting it work against you,” Greene explained. “And so I said, ‘This is really hard for me, but I’m gonna find a way through it and I’m gonna use this, these moments when I’m on set.’ It’s one of the things I’m most proud of coming out of this project.”
One of the film’s overall themes centers around the battle against one’s deepest traumas, as director and writer Chad Archibald created the story after both his parents were diagnosed with cancer. Greene, who has been open about her battle with anxiety and panic attacks over the years, said she immediately understood the layered representation and believed she could do something “powerful” with her performance.
“When you’re ready, I think you have to look inside of yourself and you have to face your demons and you have to be able to allow yourself to have the strength to overcome things that have happened to you, not because of you,” she explained. “I loved that throughout the course of the film.”
In juxtaposition to the empathetic Cynthia was Greene’s costar Shawn Ashmore as Randall, the father of the possessed Riley who has a more extreme (and violent) approach to saving his daughter. Like Greene, Ashmore used his own experience as a parent to place a human and empathetic spin on his character’s motives. (Ashmore and wife Dana Renee welcomed their son, Oliver, in 2017.)
“I’d never looked at Randall as a villain. If we were watching this movie through Randall’s perspective, he would be the hero,” Ashmore, 45, explained to Us. “He’s making horrible choices, but I understood the bad choices he was making, because he is in an impossible situation. He’s just watched his wife wither away from a circumstance that he cannot understand as he starts to grasp that he’s now at risk of losing his daughter. I just looked at him as a loving father who is doing anything that he can.”
Ashmore said he had to figure out how to “reconcile” how his character could make the decisions he does without being an “evil” person at heart, which is where being a father himself became crucial to his process.
“When I really started to think about his circumstance, and if I was in that circumstance, what would I do? I would do anything to protect my son,” he explained. “And he’s not doing the right thing, but he’s doing the only thing that he knows how to do in this impossible situation that he’s being put in.”
Ashmore hopes when people see the film that they lean into the “great thrill ride” It Feeds provides while also recognizing the complexity — and intelligence — of the characters on screen.
“In genre films, it’s so frustrating when you [can] tell the characters are making the decision to further the story or to put a character in a bad or a perilous position. And I never, ever felt that way when I read [this script],” he explained. “And then when I watched It Feeds [and then] characters make bad decisions …. I completely understood why.”
He added, “I think that’s a distinction specifically in horror movies, where, if a character’s making the decision just to further the plot or to put themselves in peril, that’s a bad writing choice as opposed to, ‘We understand who this character is and that the choice of they’re making is true to who they are.’ And I think that this film is full of decisions and actions like that. And I think that is great storytelling.”
Greene, for her part, wants It Feeds to provide plenty of supernatural fun while also holding up a mirror to viewers.
“What I loved about Cynthia and Jordan is that once we see Cynthia grappling with past traumas and things that had happened to her — [but] when she realizes that she has to overcome those things to help her daughter, she does it no questions asked and is able to do that for someone else,” she told Us. “And I think that’s what we are as a society, right? When you heal yourself, you have the ability to heal others too.”
It Feeds premieres in theaters and on demand Friday, April 18.

Torres, who is currently incarcerated, had millions of social media followers and built a brand off of self-help videos and a wellness subscription service. The disgraced internet star also alleged that she had spiritual powers and connected with her followers on a deeper level.
However, she became the focus of an FBI investigation which led to a 2024 arrest.
Keep reading for everything to know about Torres — and the fallout:
Who Is Kat Torres?
Prior to her internet career, Torres was a model and pageant girl in her native Brazil.
Multiple followers claimed to the BBC in interviews published in July 2024 that as they got in deeper with Torres and her content, they felt “isolated” from friends and family. One even uprooted their life to become Torres’ live-in assistant.
In September 2022, two Brazilian women were reported missing after moving into Torres’ Texas house. (Torres called them her “witch clan” on social media.)
Eventually, their “profiles on escort and prostitution websites were discovered.” At this point, Torres had moved from Texas to Maine with the women — who asked for the search to stop — in tow. In November 2022, a wellness check tipped off law enforcement and the missing women were back home in Brazil the following month.

By April 2024, Torres had already stood trial in Brazil and denied all wrongdoing in an interview with the BBC.
“When I was seeing the people testifying, they were saying so many lies,” she alleged. “So many lies that at one point, I couldn’t stop laughing.”
She added: “You choose to believe whatever you choose to believe. I can tell you I’m Jesus. And you can see Jesus, or you can see the devil, that’s it. It’s your choice. It’s your mind.”
Torres was convicted for human trafficking and slavery and sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2024. (She has appealed the conviction.)
Did Kat Torres Publish a Book?
In 2017, Torres book A Voz, was released. She claimed to be able to make predictions because of her spirituality in the memoir.
A (second) Clueless TV series without Alicia Silverstone as queen bee Cher Horowitz? As if!
A revival TV series of the iconic 1995 film with Silverstone attached to star and executive produce is currently in development at Peacock. The show will be written by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage‘s Fake Media and Dollface’sJordan Weiss, with the 1995 movie’s writer-director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence also serving as executive producers.
The original Clueless, loosely adapted from Jane Austen’s 1815 novel Emma, centered on Silverstone’s Cher, the most popular girl at Bronson Alcott High School, who sets out to become a successful matchmaker to her friends — and even her teachers.
The film’s box-office success sparked a follow-up TV series in 1996, created by Heckerling and starring Stacey Dash, Donald Faison and Elisa Donovan in their film roles as Cher’s inner circle. Silverstone and Paul Rudd — who portrayed Cher’s love interest and former stepbrother Josh in the film — did not return. The part of Cher was recast and played by Rachel Blanchard. The show aired on ABC for three seasons before its cancellation.
While Peacock picked up a different Clueless reboot centered around Dash’s Dionne in 2019, the project ultimately never moved forward.
