Yolanda Saldívar, the woman who shot and killed Selena Quintanilla-Perez in 1995, “feels like she’s a political prisoner,” a relative says.

While speaking to the New York Post in an interview published on Wednesday, March 4, the unnamed person added, “Enough is enough” in regards to Saldivar’s life sentence.

“She’s ready to get out of jail, because she believes she has more than served her time,” the family member told the outlet.

In December 2024, Us Weekly confirmed that Saldívar had begun the parole review process ahead of her eligibility date of March 30, 2025.

Quintanilla-Perez was shot by Saldívar in March 1995 in a Texas hotel. The iconic singer died at the age of 23 of hypovolemic shock as paramedics worked to revive her.

She also claimed she intended to die by suicide and did not mean to shoot Quintanilla-Perez. Saldívar was found guilty of first-degree murder in October 1995 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

“They made me out to be a monster, and I just want to say, I did not kill Selena,” Saldívar claimed in an interview with 20/20 in 1995, maintaining her innocence despite the guilty verdict. “It was an accident, and my conscience is clear.”

Quintanilla-Perez’s fans have kept her legacy alive in the years since her untimely death. Her first English-language album, Dreaming of You, was released in the months that followed, and the singer became the first Latina artist to debut on the Billboard 200 while the album sold more than one million copies.

Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has provided an update on her pregnancy with twins.

“I’ve been feeling a bit poorly the last few days,” Nelson, 33, shared in a video posted via Instagram on Saturday, March 8, captioned “TTTS Update.”

“[I’ve] been having a few of the symptoms that I need to watch out for, which is my belly tightening, struggle breathing,” Nelson said. “So today we came into the hospital to just have a check up, basically just in case.”

However, Nelson shared that “unfortunately the symptoms have got worse.” Nelson was joined in the video by her boyfriend of three years, Zion Foster, with whom she shares the babies.

While Foster further noted, “We’re doing it together and it’s the best chance,” Jesy responded, “Yeah, exactly. That’s why they do this procedure so that it literally gives you the best chance of both of your babies surviving.”

She continued, “Obviously it’s just really scary because there’s so many things that could happen. But, we just wanted to update you guys.” Nelson concluded, “Just pray for us please.”

Nelson had opened up about experiencing pregnancy complications with her twins earlier this week. In a video shared via Instagram on Wednesday, March 5, she shared that they’d be having “identical twins, which is so exciting.”

Nelson said that she was “being monitored very closely,” and has “to go be scanned twice a week.” She added, “The current situation that we’re in at the moment is that every time I’ve gone it gets a little bit worse.”

“We are just hoping and praying for the best,” Nelson continued. “We feel so blessed that we’ve been given twins. It’s just really sad, unfortunately, it does come with these complications we had no idea about.”

John Goodman has reportedly suffered an injury on the set of director Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s latest film.

“Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury. He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover,” a Warner Bros. Pictures spokesperson told Deadline in a statement. “The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”

Deadline reported that Goodman, 72, slipped over the past week while blocking a scene at the UK’s Pinewood Studios and was subsequently taken to hospital. The outlet noted that filming was stopped for two days as a result of Goodman’s injury. Deadline noted that sources described it as a “minor injury,” with Goodman set to return on Monday, March 10.

“We would all bring our families there. I brought my son, Magnus, to this last season when we were shooting,” Nettles, 50, exclusively told Us Weekly at The Righteous Gemstones Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday, March 5.

Nettles noted her son knows Goodman because of his work on Monsters Inc. (Goodman voiced monster Sully in 2001’s Monsters, Inc and has since voiced the character in video games, the 2013 sequel Monsters University and on the TV series Monsters at Work from 2021 to 2024.)

“I was like, ‘OK, so you know that John plays mommy’s husband in this show, but do you know who he also is?’ And he was like, ‘Who?’ And I was like, ‘Sully,’” she recalled. “John spoke and Magnus just went and grabbed him and started crying. He couldn’t believe it. So those kinds of sweet connective moments are ones that I will always cherish. John was so, so kind. John was moved too genuinely by it.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania are opening up about their different reactions to the show’s hiatus.

When asked if it’s been “weird” to take a break from filming the hit Bravo reality show, Giudice, 52, exclusively told Us Weekly it’s been “relaxing.”

“Drama free. Drama Free. Drama Free,” she told Us in February while attending Wives on the Waves, an exclusive event hosted by Fans at Sea aboard the brand-new Norwegian Escape ship.

“At least you’re running on the adrenaline of what you have to do and what’s expected of you,” Catania, 54, chimed in. “And then all of a sudden it’s like, ‘Wait, it’s been a while now since I’ve done that.’ And then it’s, like, you go through a little thing — almost like a breakup.”

She continued, “I feel like a relationship breakup. You take a little break and then you’re like, okay, I want to start going again.”

In February, Us exclusively learned that the RHONJ stars were still in limbo about whether or not they’ll be returning for season 15. The ladies had been in touch with production, but an official decision on who stays and who goes ahead of next season has yet to be made.

“All of them have been in contact with production, but not with any news,” a source told Us at the time. “There’s still an open line of communication but no news on who is coming back or who is not coming back.”

The insider added that while there was no news about the future of the series, “production wants the show to come back” and is willing to “see how they can make it work.” The source added that it’s the network, not the stars, that’s “stalling” the process.

“None of the Housewives have heard anything from the network,” the insider continued. A spokesperson for Bravo told Us in a statement at the time that “no decisions have been made around casting for RHONJ.”

Giudice told Us that “we’re always hopeful” to hear good news regarding the status of the show and its cast.

“We’re workers,” Catania added. “I liked it. It’s, like, a part of you. It doesn’t define you — not us anyway — but it is a part of our lives that is missed.” While Catania stopped short of likening the show’s hiatus to “a death,” she said that in the wake of filming “you go through all different things.”

“Obviously Bravo took a break for a reason,” Giudice said, adding that the show had become “toxic, toxic, toxic.”

“So I’m sure they’re going to, if it comes back,I’m sure there will be changes,” she added.

Friends who knew Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa are speaking out in the wake of the couple’s shocking deaths.

In a lengthy look into the mysterious passing of the actor, 95, and his wife, published on Saturday, March 8, the New York Times spoke to Tom Allin, a longtime friend of the pair.

“She was very protective of him,” Allin said of Arakawa, 65, and the love she had for Hackman, before telling the outlet that he believes Hackman would have died “long ago” without his wife at his side.

Allin also shared a story from visiting with the couple in 2020 to celebrate Hackman’s 90th birthday. He said that it was clear the actor wasn’t in the best of health, and as a result his wife “just really looked after him.”

Hackman and Arakawa were found dead in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home on February 26.

“On February 26, 2025, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an address on Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park where Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64, and a dog were found deceased,” the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said in a February 27 statement to Us Weekly. “Foul play is not suspected as a factor in those deaths at this time, however, [the] exact cause of death has not been determined. This is an active and ongoing investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.”

Hackman’s family confirmed the pair’s deaths in a statement to Us.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Gene Hackman, and his wife, Betsy,” Elizabeth, Leslie and Annie Hackman said. “He was loved and admired by millions around the world for his brilliant acting career, but to us he was always just Dad and Grandpa. We will miss him sorely and are devastated by the loss.”

On Friday, March 7, chief medical examiner Dr. Heather Jarrell said in a press conference that Arakawa died one week before Hackman, though it was unlikely the actor was aware of her death due to his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. “Mr. Hackman probably died around February 18,” she explained. “Based on the circumstances, it is reasonable to conclude that Mrs. Hackman died first, likely around February 11.”

Arakawa’s cause of death was officially listed as Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), a rare infectious disease carried by rodents that begins with flu-like symptoms and progresses rapidly to more severe outcomes including trouble breathing, while Hackman died due to hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with Alzheimer’s disease as a significant contributing factor.

“I think he died as a result of his heart disease with the Alzheimer’s being a contributing factor,” Dr. Jarrell said. She also added, “I can tell you that he was in an advanced state of all and it’s quite possible that he was not aware she was deceased.”

Kyle MacLachlan was supposed to return in a since-discarded plotline for And Just Like That, according to Kristin Davis.

On the Thursday, March 6, episode of her “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast, Davis, 60, revealed that in one of the scrapped plotlines for Sex and the City reboot series And Just Like That involved her character Charlotte York-Goldenblatt bumping into her first husband Trey MacDougal, played by Kyle MacLachlan. MacLachlan, however, declined to return.

“[Executive producer] Michael Patrick [King] has this thing where he doesn’t like us to talk about ideas for stories that didn’t happen,” Davis explained. “But I’m just gonna tell you guys that there was an idea that Trey/Kyle would come on And Just Like That, and then it didn’t happen. And so Kyle and I had to talk about it, because I was kinda mad at him. I said, ‘Why didn’t you come on? We wanted you to come on.'”

Davis went on to explain that the Twin Peaks alum had a thoughtful reason behind his decision not to return to the series. “He said, ‘I just wanted it to be amazing,’ meaning that it had a kind of almost a sad note. I think I’m not saying too much. I hope Michael’s not gonna be mad at me. There was a bit of a sad note, but it had this incredible lead up to me seeing Trey again.”

MacLachlan appeared in the third season of Sex and the City as Charlotte’s stuffy first husband, Trey, her divorce from whom led to the meeting of her second husband, divorce lawyer Harry Goldenblatt (played by Evan Handler).

“When you have played such a wonderful part in the past that people have such a great memory of, and it was so special as a work experience, you want it to kind of stay in this, kind of, glorious place,” Davis said of MacLachlan’s choice to pass on reprising his role as Trey for And Just Like That. “I think he just didn’t want there to be kind of a sad note to the end. So I get that. I get that.”

Davis added that the “thing I love the most” about the episode that never was “is that Charlotte tells the friends that she has not communicated at all with Trey, which is kind of shocking in a way.” The actress noted, “But I’ve never been married, and I’ve certainly never been divorced, so I don’t really know how that works. Do you communicate? Do you not communicate? Is it cool to be friends? Is it not cool to be friends?”

Davis went on to say that her character is “obviously happy with Harry,” saying, “I don’t think it would be a threat to Harry for her to communicate with Trey because of the problems with that relationship also.”

However, Davis thinks Charlotte has “kind of an unfinished feeling about [Trey] and she really wants to see him,” and she noted that “I, Kristen, also feel that way.”

“I’m hoping that we can kind of revisit a … maybe they run into each other, you know, just at an event or at a restaurant or something like that,” the actress continued. “I think it would be so amazing to have Kyle back on. And I did give him a hard time the other day. And then he explained his point of view, and I did understand it.”

MacLachlan, for his part, exclusively told Us Weekly in July 2024 that he isn’t entirely opposed to a return to the franchise. “Let me get my contract out here. Anything is possible,” he teased at the time. “Anything is possible. Who knows?” He added, “I would be open to a cameo.”

Couric also admitted to Us that while she still watches “some” of the Today show, she doesn’t consume nearly as much of the morning show as she used to.

“Honestly, in the morning I’m usually up and out. And to be honest with you, like so many people, I get a lot of my content digitally,” she explained to Us. “So, I do, but not consistently, not like I used to, and not like I did when I was actually on it.”

Brittany Mahomes and her children “had a time” recently while visiting the Peppa Pig Theme Park in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.

Brittany shared a series of photos featuring the mom of three and her oldest children, Sterling and Bronze, during the trio’s trip to the park in her Instagram Stories on Friday, March 7.

In the first Story, she shared a collage of photos featuring herself holding Bronze, the threesome enjoying a boat ride and herself and Sterling posing for a photo with a real-life Peppa the Pig.

It also looked like the family was joined by several other young children in the second Story, Sterling posed with a group of girls.

Bronze might not have had the best time throughout the entire outing, though. “He rode the roller coaster one time but had to close his eyes,” Brittany captioned a photo of the toddler with his hands over his face.

On Wednesday, March 5, Brittany told her followers on the platform that they shouldn’t expect to see her youngest baby’s face, Golden, “for a while” after her trainer Betina Gozo Shimonek appeared to show a glimpse of the newborn in a video. Brittany gave birth to Golden on January 12 and shares all three children with her husband, Patrick Mahomes.

In the video, Shimonek said she was on “triple duty” while training Brittany, watching her own daughter and minding Golden. “I think I need to clarify, Golden is in the stroller you can’t see her and won’t for a while ,” Brittany wrote on her own Instagram Story at the time, after fans speculated as to whose child was whose. “That is Makoa [Shimonek’s son] in the bouncer .”

After the couple welcomed Golden to the family, Patrick was asked if the pair would consider adding a fourth child. “[I’m] good with three [kids] for right now,” he said at a press conference in January. “My goal was always three, so we’ve had three. We’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.”

Of course, that doesn’t mean the pair are definitely finished having children. “I said three and I’m done,” he said in July 2024. “I always wanted to have kids young. I got to grow up in a locker room, and it made such an impact in my life. We’re on our third kid now. … Brittany does a great job of doing that and we still go out and enjoy our life.”

Meghan’s tribute comes less than a week after the launch of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. In an interview with People published on Saturday, a crew member shared that Harry and their two children showed their support for Meghan on set during filming.

“Whenever Harry visited set, he was always super polite and friendly. But it was clear he wanted this to be Meghan’s moment to shine,” the crew member told the publication, adding that Meghan was “super attentive and doting” on their kids. “We would give them headphones so they could listen to audio.”
