Moments after winning the National Championship, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and his star players were forced to huff it to the postgame press conference on foot after their golf cart crashed into a wall. 

The incident inside Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday, January 20, which was shortly preceded by Ohio State defeating Notre Dame 34-23 in the College Football Playoff National Championship,  was caught on camera by CBS Sports reporter Brandon Marcello.

Marcello reported that the golf cart “couldn’t make a sharp turn and crashed into a wall,” resulting in one of the cart’s wheels snapping. In addition to Day, the golf cart was also carrying Ohio State quarterback Will Howard and linebacker Cody Simon to the press conference.

During an appearance on the Today show Tuesday, January 21, Howard, 23, humorously reflected on the accident. 

“That was pretty funny,” Howard said with a laugh. “I started crying laughing, I was dying. But up in front, Coach Day was pretty serious. I didn’t know if he actually got hurt or what happened. But me and Cody were sitting back there dying laughing. It was hilarious.”

Day, 45, was not injured in the golf cart crash, and he and his players all made it to the postgame press conference safely. 

“It’s unbelievable,” Howard said on Today. “I can’t really put it into words right now. It’s still pretty surreal. I don’t think it’s really going to set in honestly until we get back to Columbus and get to be around the fans and some of our close friends.”

During his postgame remarks, Day echoed the love for Howard and the entire Ohio State team.

“After all the things that have been said throughout the year, these guys are going to be cemented as one of the best stories in Ohio State history and one of the best football teams ever,” Day said. “There was a point where not a lot of people had that vision, but these guys did, and they saw it through. Ohio State may not be for everybody, but it’s for these guys.”

Princess Kate Middleton is on the hunt for the next perfect school for Prince George.

The Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, have been spotted touring various establishments, including their alma maters, Hello! reported on Tuesday, January 21.

According to the publication, Kate, 43, has toured her old school, Marlborough College, in Wiltshire as well as two schools in North London.

William’s former private school, Eton College, is also reportedly under consideration. The school educates boys aged 13 to 18, with the option to board across its 25 houses on the Windsor campus.

Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, are opening up about their new life in Spain.

“The children did not want me to leave this morning,” Gere, 71, said while talking to Elle España alongside Silva, 41. “They asked me about their mother and I told them that she was in a meeting.”

“And where are you going, Dad?” Gere continued. “To a meeting too,” he responded.

According to Elle España, his family man side surprises the crew. “It is like landing in a different reality than many imagine,” the reporter writes, changing a perception people might have of the actor.

However, it’s a part of Gere that Silva has known about for years.

“Richard is a very devoted and present father. He loves to read them stories. It seems like an idyllic photo, but it’s true. He’s a great dad,” she said.

“He doesn’t cook,” she added. “I do it, but when I cook, he plays the guitar.”

Earlier this year, Gere and Silva made the decision to leave their life in America and move to Spain, Silva’s native country.

Prior to marrying each other in 2018 after meeting each other in Italy in 2014, Silva moved to America for Gere.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Gere said it was time to return the favor.

“My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid with her family. Our kids are bilingual, so they’re going to flourish there.”

Now, in their interview with Elle España, he says life in Spain is great.

“The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever,” he said of being Spain. “She, because she is at home and I because, if she is happy, I am happy.”

In Silva’s words, she and Gere are “like soulmates.”

“We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we felt like we have known each other for a long time. And this only happens once, if it happens at all … We were united by the karma of our past lives,” she continued.

Silva and Gere share two children together, 5-year-old Alexander and 4-year-old James. Silva has an 11-year-old son, Albert, from her first marriage, all of whom moved to Spain as well.

Gere also has a 24-year-old son, Homer, from a previously marriage, who remained in New York working on his own acting career, Elle reports.

And while change is hard, Gere said it is easier to change himself than it is to try and change other people.

“One of the things that unites us the most and what made us fall deeply in love was our activist heart,” Silva added.

In addition to being on the cover of Elle España, the couple was also celebrated for their work with the Sierra a Mar project with an ELLE Eco Award.

The Sierra a Mar project is a “conservation and sustainable development initiative focused on protecting and restoring coastal ecosystems in Mexico, particularly along the region where mountains meet the ocean, by promoting environmentally responsible practices and economic growth for local communities.”

“Being an activist leads you to infuse your values into the world to improve it,” Silva said.

“It is about giving a voice to people who do not have one and raising awareness. It has a very deep meaning and we must value where to put our energy, but, however small it may be, we can always contribute.”

In addition to their environmental work, Silva and Gere are also passionate about ending homelessness.

“The only reason why both Richard and I are here in Madrid is to be part of the board of the NGO Hogar Sí ,” she shared. “We want to help this country to end homelessness. Our goal is that, within 5 years, no one sleeps on the street.”

“The path of empathy goes beyond religions,” Silva added.

Host Jesse Palmer assured Us that The Bachelor season 29 trailer isn’t overselling how torn lead Grant Ellis was ahead of the final rose ceremony.

“It’s real,” Palmer promised during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly pegged to his partnership with Great Clips. “And I don’t know if you could tell from watching that from my reaction, [but] I was surprised. That was something that I haven’t encountered yet as the host in the last four years on any of the franchises. Normally, I think, our leads have a little bit more clarity — a lot more clarity — heading into the final day. And I really think that’s how conflicted Grant really was.”

In the trailer, the 31-year-old day trader admits to Palmer that he doesn’t know who he is going to pick on the final day. Palmer told Us that Grant’s contestants being so “remarkable” played a part in his indecisiveness.

“They’re phenomenal every year for whoever our lead is [and] making that decision on the final day is always a very, very difficult decision, but I can appreciate some of why Grant was so conflicted. I’ll just say that,” he continued. “But absolutely without giving away too much, that was authentic and it’s real and it’s not an edit.”

At the end of the teaser, Palmer asks Grant again if he knows what he’s going to do. “We got both women, they’re here on standby, and of course, I have to know which to send first,” he said.

“It’s not something that I want to say or I should say,” he said. “I mean, it’s sort of implied. Everybody gets it. But it got to the point during our conversation where it was so up in the air. I mean, we had to get it going. He’s got to make a decision and we have to have an ending. And I’m sorry I did it and I said it that way and to break that fourth wall, but I had to say it to help him understand. I know Grant understood, but that’s kind of where it went. And that I think shows just kind of how real that was.”

Palmer has been hosting The Bachelor since season 26. While that season ended in heartbreak for Clayton Echard, season 27 lead Zach Shallcross and season 28 star Joey Graziadei are still engaged to their respective final rose recipients, Kaity Biggar and Kelsey Anderson.

“I don’t want to speak on behalf of Grant, but I think he’s very, very happy with how things ended. I know he’s really excited for everybody to watch this whole thing unfold. Grant’s a very easy guy to root for,” Palmer told Us. “I’m a fan of his and I know he’s a guy that’s been so successful in everything he’s done in his life outside of love [so far]. With Zach and Joey, we’re kind of running this streak a little bit and I think we have a chance to keep this thing going, fingers crossed.”

The Bachelor returns to ABC Monday, January 27, at 8 p.m. ET. Scarlett Johansson’s childhood dream of being a morning show host is one not many of her loved ones knew she had.

“I cannot believe it,” the actress, 40, exclaimed while stepping in as Jenna Bush Hager’s cohost on the Tuesday, January 21, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. “And more importantly, everyone in my life can’t quite believe it either. … The people that knew me very well were like, ‘You are living your dream. I am so happy for you.’ The people that did not know me as well were like, ‘What’s going on? Are you OK?’”

Johansson noted that as a kid, she would look at herself “in the mirror with a shampoo bottle, and I’m like, ‘Good morning, everyone, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend. What’s happening in your neck of the woods?’ All of that stuff.”

During an Instagram Q&A on Monday, January 20, Taylor, 30, was asked about how she stays in shape, to which she replied, “I don’t work out because I don’t eat enough calories to be burning them. No diet, just stress.”

Taylor was subsequently asked how she was coping with her breakup from Dakota, 31, after the pair sparked split speculation last month.

“I cry everyday. That’s grief, let it through so it can pass and you can heal,” she noted. “The more you resist the pain coming through the longer the suffering, learn this the hard way.”

Taylor and Dakota have yet to confirm their relationship status, but the twosome have been dating on and off since before The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu in September 2024. Dakota was Taylor’s first public boyfriend after her divorce from husband Tate Paul following their “soft swinging” sex scandal.

Viewers got a front row seat to Taylor and Dakota’s tumultuous relationship — including her domestic violence arrest — throughout the first season of the reality series.

Taylor was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief after a heated fight with Dakota in February 2023. Especially, I think I’ve heard the [season] cliffhanger, so that in itself stirs up some stuff. We are doing good today, we’re going through work, so I really hope that not too much comes out.”

My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart is celebrating a major win in her divorce from Silvio Scaglia.

Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, January 21, that Haart, 53, was awarded 50 percent interest in Freedom Holding — the company that owns the exes’ business Elite World Models agency — and received power of attorney over Scaglia’s 50 percent. The judge also ruled that Haart could receive $7.4 million in unpaid management fees from 2019 to 2021 and half the proceeds of a Kees Van Dongen painting owned by Freedom Holding that Scalgia sold for nearly $3 million. Haart also won half the cash withdrawals that Silvio made from their businesses since their divorce started.

Haart also claims she reinstated herself as the interim CEO while she searched for someone to fill the role. Haart declared in a statement that “justice was served.”

Page Six further reported on Tuesday that Haart was also awarded the $65 million apartment and nearly $10 million in cash.

Haart’s lawyer, Michael Beyda of Chemtob, Moss, Forman and Beyda, also released a statement: “Julia Haart has faced immense challenges over the past three years, yet her resilience and commitment to her values have been unwavering. This victory is a testament to the power of staying true to oneself and refusing to stoop to the level of opposition. We are deeply grateful to Judge Pearlman for holding Mr. Scaglia accountable for his actions and inactions.”

Us confirmed in February 2022 that Haart filed for divorce from Scaglia, 66, two years after they tied the knot. While the pair was married, Haart was named the CEO of Scaglia’s model and talent agency, Elite World Group.

Following the announcement of Haart and Scaglia’s split, she was fired and claimed to be “completely blindsided” by his actions. One day after filing for divorce, Haart was accused of making “illegal withdrawals” from the EWG bank account after she exited the company.

Days later, Page Six reported that Haart filed a petition for a restraining order against Scaglia and alleged that he became “increasingly volatile, abusive and unhinged.”

Us exclusively confirmed in March 2022 that Scaglia filed a complaint against Haart and alleged that she stole a $401,500 Bentley that was owned by EWG. Haart went on to file a lawsuit in June 2022 claiming that Scaglia withdrew $1.5 million from the account holding her CEO salary.

“While he holds himself out to the media and others as a billionaire, in truth, Scaglia’s so-called wealth is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Haart’s indentured servitude must be remedied,” the suit alleged. “It cannot be that a man can convince his wife to give up millions in dollars in salary and benefits, plus an employment contract at the peak of her career (along with the security and independence that come with those things) and then leave her with nothing when his bait-and-switch is revealed.”

In December 2022, Scaglia dropped the lawsuits filed against Haart. “I believe the fact that Silvio withdrew these cases with prejudice, meaning dismissed permanently, on the day discovery was due, speaks volumes,” Haart said in a December 2022 statement. “No money was paid by me and I intend to continue to pursue my fraud and defamation litigation against Silvio and others named in those cases. Now my focus and priority is to heal through the strength and support of my family and to continue to build businesses that will empower others.”

Rebecca Wylie Simms (otherwise known as Boo Simms) has died at age 39 following complications from a recent surgery.

“It is with profound sadness that I share the devastating loss of my twin sister and co-founder, Boo Simms, who passed away this week due to a tragic surgery complication,” Rebecca’s twin sister, Sarah Simms Hendrix, shared in an Instagram statement on Sunday, January 19. “This loss is immeasurable, and our hearts are completely shattered.”

Sarah, 39, referred to her sister as a “magic maker” and “the brightest light I have ever known” in her social media message.

“We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this overwhelmingly painful time,” she added.

The twins were the owners of the Lady & Larder cheese and wine shop, which had two locations — one in Santa Monica and a second in Carmel. Aside from being a business owner, creative director, artist and mother.

“Our Carmel Valley location will be closed until further notice,” Sarah wrote on Sunday. “Our Santa Monica location will remain open to serve you with the continued love and care that that Boo always poured into everything we do.”

After Notre Dame’s loss to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, head coach Marcus Freeman was blunt in his assessment of what went wrong. 

“You’re always making mistakes, but those type of detrimental mistakes when you play a really, really good football team cost you points,” Freeman, 39, told reporters after the game on Monday, January 20. “I think that’s probably the biggest thing that has stuck out to me even in between series, the communication. ‘Hey, we’re good, we got it.’ Well, we can’t make mistakes.”

He added, “It falls on my shoulders. And as the head coach, we have to prepare and be better prepared for this moment. These guys gave everything they got.”

During the game, Freeman was criticized for choosing to kick a field goal with his team down 31-15 in the fourth quarter instead of going for it on 4th and goal from the 9-yard line. Notre Dame kicker Mitch Jeter ultimately missed the 27-yard field goal. Ohio State won the game 34-23.

Jason Kelce had a message for pal Beau Allen before they watched Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game with Taylor Swift.

Prince Harry is not yet headed to the U.K. despite his ongoing trial against News Group Newspapers (NGN), which owns The Sun.

Us Weekly has learned that Harry, 40, will not attend the first day of the NGN trial on Tuesday, January 21. The Duke of Sussex is set to testify in court next month, debunking false reports about supposed offers for security coverage during his visit.

Reports suggested earlier this month that Harry would fly back to the U.K. solo as his legal battle against various tabloids continues. The hearing, which officially starts on Tuesday, will last eight weeks.

Harry is suing NGN, alleging that the company utilized unlawful information gathering for stories published in their tabloids. NGN previously admitted that News of the World, which closed in 2011, took part in phone hacking. They’ve since claimed that there was no wrongdoing at The Sun.

Harry further claimed in April 2023 that his brother, Prince William, settled with NGN for a “very large sum” in 2020. Harry alleged in his court filing that the royal family had a “secret agreement” with NGN, preventing members from filing lawsuits against the company. (NGN has denied this claim, and a judge stated that Harry failed to produce any evidence regarding this allegation.)

It was initially ruled in July 2023 that Harry’s case against NGN could move forward on allegations of unlawful information gathering. However, Harry’s claims of phone hacking were thrown out by Judge Timothy Fancourt because the allegations fell outside the six-year statute of limitations.

Harry previously went up against the U.K. media as part of a group who sued Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) — which owns the Daily Mail ­— for allegedly hacking celebrities’ voicemails to obtain personal information. Harry took the stand in June 2023, making him the first royal family to do so in 130 years.

Court documents obtained by Us in December 2023 revealed that a judge ruled in Harry’s favor and there was “sufficient proof” that MGN “engaged in unlawful information gathering, including phone hacking.”

This win marked a major milestone in Harry’s ongoing legal battles.

He previously sued Associated Newspapers Limited for defamation. A judge ruled in July 2022 that the trial could move forward, but Harry withdrew the case in January 2024. The prince is also going up against Associated Newspapers Limited, alleging that they also took part in phone hacking. The media company denied the allegations, arguing that Harry’s claims are too old for legal action. A preliminary hearing in November 2024 stated a judge’s “broad objective” to start trial in January 2026.

Justin Baldoni is focusing on his family amid his messy legal drama with Blake Lively.

Baldoni, 40, his wife, Emily Baldoni, and their daughter Maiya, 9, and son Maxwell, 7, were spotted on a getaway to Hawaii over the weekend. A shirtless Baldoni jumped into the water with his kids and was all smiles while enjoying the trip.

The excursion came days after Baldoni’s studio filed a lawsuit on Thursday, January 16, against Lively, 37, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, seeking $400 million in damages. The lawsuit included accusations of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy and other claims.

“We’re grateful to be with the family, man,” Baldoni told photographers at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, January 17. “We have amazing friends and family and faith.”

Before the newest development in the case, Baldoni and Lively made headlines for their feud when she filed paperwork in December accusing him of sexual harassment, creating a “hostile work environment” and causing her “severe emotional distress” while working together.

In a statement to The New York Times, Lively stated, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”

Baldoni’s legal counsel, however, called Lively’s claims “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious.” Bryan Freedman alleged in a statement to Us Weekly that Lively filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” regarding the production of It Ends With Us.

Freedman went on to claim that Lively made “multiple demands and threats” during the film’s production, which included “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.”

More recently, Baldoni was among 10 plaintiffs who launched a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for its coverage of Lively’s accusations. A spokesperson for the The New York Times told Us that the outlet is planning to “vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”

Freedman addressed Baldoni’s lawsuit for civil extortion, telling Us earlier this month, “This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media.”

The statement continued, “It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret. Blake Lively was either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth.”

Lively, meanwhile, responded via her legal team to Baldoni’s studio suing her, Sloane and Reynolds, 48.

“This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook. This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender,” the statement read. “Wayfarer has opted to use the resources of its billionaire co-founder to issue media statements, launch meritless lawsuits, and threaten litigation to overwhelm the public’s ability to understand that what they are doing is retaliation against sexual harassment allegations.”

Lively’s legal team accused Baldoni’s team of trying to “shift” the focus.

The evidence will also show that Sony asked Ms. Lively to oversee Sony’s cut of the film, which they then selected for distribution and was a resounding success,” the statement continued.

The statement concluded: “Their response to sexual harassment allegations: she wanted it, it’s her fault. Their justification for why this happened to her: look what she was wearing. In short, while the victim focuses on the abuse, the abuser focuses on the victim. The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.”

The Anyone But You star had fun with Davino, 41, who caught her off guard and threw a snow ball at her. Sweeney then rolled up the powder and tossed a snowball back at Davino while smiling.

Davino kept his outfit casual with blue jeans, white sneakers and a dark coat. He accessorized with black sunglasses and a silver watch.

Sweeney has been stepping out in a number of fabulous looks while out and about in New York City as of late. On Monday, January 20, she looked as cool as ever in a Chloé outfit complete with a brown textured coat with a leather strap around her collar and flap pockets.

Unbothered by the cold temperatures, Sweeney rocked a sheer blouse with ruffled sleeves, which she elevated with light-wash jeans and a vintage gold belt spelling out Chloé in cursive letters.

Later on Monday, she changed into a nude ensemble while taking a separate stroll with Davino. Her getup featured a gray knit, pleated trousers and a matching floor-length coat. She added a pop of color to her loo with brown boots and a coordinating leather purse.

Tamar Braxton is heading back to TV — and this time, she teamed up with her mom, Evelyn Braxton, also known as “Ms. E.”

In the first trailer for CLEO TV’s Cooking Sessions with Tamar & Ms. E, Tamar cooks her special recipes, including a chicken alfredo dish that will steal any man’s heart.

“Some men, all you got to do is make them [a] little chicken alfredo. They never leave your house!” Tamar said while preparing the food.

“Finally, after 10 years, my mother and I are pleased to present you with this amazing project where you and your family can become our family and share recipes and stories and have fun in the kitchen like we did, back in the day,” Tamar shared with Us Weekly in an exclusive statement.

The show, which is set to premiere in March, is centered around the Braxton’s’ family values, and their stories from over the years — expect tea to be spilled.

The official logline reads: “From the soulful recipes to the heartfelt conversations, Tamar and Ms. E keep it real — and fun by creating an experience that feels like an intimate, family gathering! They’re opening the doors to their Braxton family kitchen to celebrate life, laughs, and inspire fans with stories and flavors that honor their culture, family and resilience. The Braxton’s made their TV debut on the reality series Braxton Family Values in 2011, which aired for seven seasons on WE tv. The cast included the Braxton sisters, Traci Braxton, Trina Braxton, Toni Braxton, Towanda Braxton and Tamar along with mom Evelyn and family friend, Hill Harper.

The Braxton’s cheers to their new journey on TV saying: “I’m not above you. I’m not I’m not below you. I’m right here.”

Tamar then adds: “Everybody, come on in, we in the kitchen, so let’s get cooking.”
