Before I was pregnant, I thought I’d be someone who never bought maternity clothes. A lifelong lover of stretchy waistbands and loose layers, I figured the stuff in my closet would simply expand enough to cover my growing belly. I soon realized I was wrong (everything felt restrictive by the second trimester!), so I went on a search to find the best flared maternity leggings for petites.
At 5’0, I needed a pair that wouldn’t sweep the ground if I wore them outside, but like most short girl fashion dilemmas, finding something that was quality and inexpensive wasn’t easy. Thankfully, Amazon came to the rescue with the Joyspels Smooth Feeling Flare Maternity Leggings, which are the perfect length, come in multiple colors and are currently on sale for up to 30% off.
Initially, I purchased these pregnancy pants in black, hoping to keep things classic and versatile. However, I’ve worn them so much since they arrived last December that I’ve since ordered two additional pairs in brown and blue. While the bottoms come in six different colorways in total, the main draw for me has been the length. Shoppers can choose between 29-, 32- and 35-inch fits, ensuring they’re perfect for those with short legs (and long ones, too).
Thankfully, flared leggings have been in my rotation for a while (like, since the days they were called yoga pants) so I know there are a million ways to style them. While my go-to way to wear my leggings is with an oversized sweatshirt or sweater, I’ve recently embraced showcasing my stomach, pairing this Amazon pick with a form-fitting T-shirt or a sleek, cropped cardigan.
Another detail worth noting? These maternity leggings include side pockets large enough to hold your iPhone or keys. It makes them ideal for days when I’m running errands or need a free hand while walking the dog.
Amazon customers are just as into these flared leggings as I am, leaving plenty of 5-star reviews.
“Soft without compromising on quality,” one person wrote. “They have a bit of weight, unlike cheaper versions of these pants. Not see-through. Flattering fit (not too tight and not loose in the wrong places). The length was just right. I’m pretty impressed with these and grateful to wear something that makes me feel good about my body at 29 weeks. I may need to size up in the future (depending on how much bigger I get).”
“If you are pregnant, RUN, do not walk to get these pants,” said another reviewer. “I was inspired to get a pant like this by my sister-in-law who had a very expensive $90 pair, so I was determined to find a look alike. I was having a really hard time, had gone through tons of different pairs and then I found this pair. Not only does it make me feel good and supported at 34 plus weeks, I genuinely don’t want to wear anything else. I will wear these pants every day. If they had more colors, I would have every color. They are so comfortable. The material doesn’t get dirty. The stretch is perfect. The fit is perfect. The support on my stomach is absolutely perfect. Doesn’t cause any discomfort anywhere and I get very uncomfortable very easily with any slight pressure. Get these pants. Get these pants. Get these pants. Thank me later.”
While the Blue Steel option is the cheapest right now, all of the colors are currently on sale for Prime members. Hurry up and snag a pair while you can. They’ll also make a nice gift for a mom-to-be!
Today meteorologist Dylan Dreyerwas surprised to find out that colleague Hoda Kotb planned to leave the acclaimed morning show.
“I was in Nashville ’cause I had just covered the People’s Choice Country Music Awards [in September 2024]. She calls me at 6:55. I’m like, ‘Why is Hoda calling me? I hope everything’s OK,’” Dreyer, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, January 17, ahead of her participation in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. “She whispers into her phone, ‘Just want you to know the announcement’s coming out today. I’m leaving the Today Show.’”
Dreyer continued, “And I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ It was such a tightly kept secret. I don’t know if anybody knew ’cause I called Al [Roker] and he said he found out that morning before the show, and Craig [Melvin] found out that morning before the show. It was shocking, but I would say not surprising because once you found out why she was doing it, it was like, ‘Oh, yeah, that makes so much sense.’”
Kotb, 60, confirmed in September 2024 that she planned to leaveToday after three decades on the air. She initially joined the TV network in 2007, later becoming an anchor in 2018 alongside Savannah Guthrie.
Kotb’s final shows aired live earlier this month, which were especially emotional for the Today crew and viewers alike.
“Hoda’s like your favorite aunt, who you loved when she showed up. … I mean, she was the heart and soul of the Today show and really brought that to the people,” Dreyer told Us. “Everybody’s like, ‘What’s Hoda like in person?’ She’s exactly what you see on TV. I mean, none of that is phony, but at the same time, she chose this new path. She wants to get into the wellness space and she’s still gonna do Olympics coverage and do special stories … so she’s still gonna be a part of the show. This was her choice, so you can’t help but root her on and cheer her on for that.”
Dreyer will still get a frequent “Hoda fix” off-screen too, since the two broadcasters are also neighbors. (Ahead of her Today exit, Kotb moved to the suburbs of New York with daughters Hope and Haley.)
After Kotb’s Today departure, Melvin, 45, took over Kotb’s position as coanchor.
“We’ve all worked together for so long now that nothing feels different,” Dreyer said on Friday of the new Today lineup. “Everybody’s got different titles and stuff, but nothing really feels different because it makes sense for Craig to take over that role — and he’s like a brother to me.”
She added, “It’s just one big happy family and everything’s kind of getting rearranged a little bit, but the other morning I did send Savannah a text message. I’m like, ‘Savannah, I just wanna say kudos to you’ because she’s had to give so much lately.”
According to Dreyer, Guthrie, 53, had to watch “the goodbyes to Hoda” before the crew started to “build Craig up for this new role.”
“I just wanted to say, ‘Kudos to you for having to step back and give everyone their flowers for so long,’” Dreyer noted. “I think she handled it with such grace and it’s nice to give, give, give, but it’s also nice to receive. So I’m like, ‘I hope you realize how integral you are when it comes to the Today show.’”
While Dreyer is also an integral member of the NBC News family, she’s briefly trading the broadcasting studio for the fairway. She will compete in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions golf game in Orlando, Florida, later in January against other celebrities.
“[Golf] opens up so many doors for you. It’s, like, the fact that, at some point in my life, I learned to play golf just good enough to get invited to these things has opened up a whole new world,” Dreyer quipped to Us. “There’s so much fun, the people you meet and that you’re hanging out with; it’s like a pinch-me moment. It’s all your favorite sports stars [and] the celebrities that you watch on TV. It’s, like, you’re in a place where you’re cool enough to be with them. It’s just so much fun.”
The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions takes place at Orlando’s Lake Nona Golf & Country Club from Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 2.
Sarah Ferguson is opening up about the impact two back-to-back cancer diagnoses had on her mental health.
“It was hard. I’m generally a positive person but cancer is like a bomb going off in your life,” Sarah Ferguson, 65, told The Times in an interview published on Friday, January 17. “One diagnosis is enough to deal with, but I had two in the space of a year. I don’t mind admitting that my mind went to some dark places, reflecting on my own mortality.”
Ferguson announced in June 2023 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram. She later underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Just six months later, in January 2024, the duchess announced she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a type of skin cancer.
“Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analyzed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of those has been identified as cancerous,” a representative for the royal family member said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time.
While Ferguson recently joked to The Times that she renamed her reconstructed breast “Derek,” she also revealed that her back-to-back cancer diagnoses took an immense toll on her mental health. Thankfully, she explained, she found ways to cope.
“I’ve used meditation and mindfulness to help stay positive and balanced,” she explained, adding that her family has been “an immense support to me through this period.” (Ferguson shares daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with her ex-husband and embattled royal, Prince Andrew.)
In June 2024, while speaking to Hello!, Ferguson gave royal fans a health update, saying that she has to be “checked regularly” and has to “put cream on my face to get out past sun damage.”
“(It) means big blisters on my face, chest and hands for three weeks,” she explained at the time. “But I’m not doing immunotherapy, taking any drugs or doing chemotherapy, for which I’m very grateful.”
In the same profile interview, Ferguson once again praised her “most exceptional family,” going on to say that she has “an extraordinarily great team” and an “enormous ability to turn to joy.”
“I have always brought my girls to be so honest and frank that they know I’m going to tell it to them straight, however difficult it is,” the duchess continued.
In May 2024, while appearing on an episode of U.K’s This Morning, Princess Beatrice revealed that her mother was in the “all clear.”
“She’s such a phenomenal icon. As a mum, she’s been amazing, she’s been through so much and her sense of purpose and resilience really keeps me going,” the royal said at the time. “At 64 she’s thriving; she’s been through so much, but I think really now she’s coming into her own.”
The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t letting their No. 1 seed ranking in the AFC get to their heads — even with a possible back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl win on the line.
“I haven’t heard anybody talk about anything ‘three-peat’ [or] anything like that,” tight end Travis Kelce, one of the team’s playoff captains, said in a preview for his upcoming ESPN interview with Chris Berman. “We’re focused on the Houston Texans right now.”
The Chiefs, who are ranked No. 1 in the AFC conference, battle the Texans in a Saturday, January 18, divisional playoff game. The winner advances to the conference championship against either the Buffalo Bills or the Baltimore Ravens. Of course, the AFC champ will secure a place in the Super Bowl against the NFC’s own titleholder.
“Anybody can get beat in the playoffs if you don’t come in with the right mentality and the right mindset dating back to training camp and throughout the season,” Kelce, 35, explained ahead of Saturday’s football game. “We have such a veteran team. We have so many leaders in so many different ways. Guys step up and guys just understand the task at hand.”
If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl next month, they will become the first NFL team to win the championship three times in a row. Kelce, in particular, was signed with the Missouri team when they earned the Lombardi trophy in 2020, 2023 and 2024, respectively. (The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 and 2023, and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.)
The 2024 big game was especially special for Kelce. In addition to winning the trophy, he was able to celebrate the moment with a sideline kiss from girlfriend Taylor Swift, whom he started dating in 2023. The pop star, 35, has since become a staple at his football games and is expected to make an appearance on Saturday.
“You know it, baby,” Kelce teased her attendance during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week. “You know it’s playoff football, man. … I’m feeling fired up. I’m ‘feeling 22’ [like Swift’s song] all over again, baby. Let’s go!”
Days later, Kelce gushed about his “very strong relationship” with Swift and having her game day support. (She often rocks up to KC’s Arrowhead Stadium decked out in team gear and colors, in addition to custom jewelry honoring Kelce’s 87 jersey number.)
“Me and Taylor are happy and I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium,” Kelce said on the Wednesday, January 15, episode of the Stephen A. Smith Show. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me, so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, contestant — and Faithful — Chrishell Stause recalled numerous close calls for the cloaked individuals on The Traitors.
“There’s two moments, to be honest with you, where they’re in that hidden little bar area,” Chrishell, 43, shared about the hit Peacock series. “There’s the part that they cut off the [third] episode on. But I remember one other part too. I remember being in that room and being like, ‘Wait, I heard that door click.'”
Chrishell had her own near run-in, adding, “I remember trying to push in and trying to get in and it wasn’t letting me in. So I was like, ‘Either someone’s holding it from the other side or it’s locked.'”
She continued: “Honestly, there were quite a few times where I think they must have not been caught by the skin of their teeth. As you see — because I wasn’t in that room — there’s other times where something happens at the beginning of the episode that will [inspire] suspicions. I remember us being like, ‘I wasn’t there, but somebody heard something.'”
Season 3, which premiered earlier this month, started off with Bob the Drag Queen, Danielle Reyes and Carolyn Wiger as the Traitors. By the second episode, Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano joined the group and Bob was subsequently banished after Rob turned on him.
“I feel like once you’ve proven yourself as a Faithful — if you have done that — you then also have to work double time to put suspicion off yourself that you could maybe be a Traitor. It’s a rough game because you have to time it and thread that needle perfectly,” she noted. “So of course it’s easy for me now to say, ‘But I also wish I had just been a little more vocal when I have those suspicions.'”
The Selling Sunset star had regrets about not speaking up more. “There were times that I was right on someone and I bring it up to a few people,” she noted. “And obviously I either bring it up [and it didn’t go anywhere]. It’s frustrating when you know you were right about someone and you’re like, ‘Oh, I should have been louder.'”
Inspired by Dutch series De Verraders (which previously led to a popular U.K. version) , The Traitors brings together celebrities, especially reality TV stars from different franchises — including Survivor, Big Brother, Real Housewives and more — as they compete in a mafia-style game for up to $250,000.
In addition to Chrishell, season 3 features Wells Adams, Gabby Windey, Ciara Miller, Jeremy Collins, Carolyn, Tony Vlachos, Bob the Drag Queen, Britney Haynes and Danielle. Bob Harper, Dylan Efron, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Sam Asghari and Nikki Bella made up the rest of the group with later additions Boston Rob, Wes Bergmann and Derrick Levasseur.
While Chrishell had practice in the reality TV space, she still dealt with plenty of surprises on The Traitors.
“The hours filming The Traitors are just so long, and you have no sleep. At least with Selling Sunset, you get to sit in a chair and have glam. But then, they’re going after your personal lives,” she quipped. “Even though I had no sleep and I didn’t have my phone on [The Traitors], I still would rather someone go after me in that way and not go after my actual family and friends. Selling Sunset is more stressful.”
Chrishell went on to share some unexpected behind the scenes details about filming The Traitors, saying, “I would’ve died to have glam in the castle, but [host] Alan Cumming does not allow us to have glam in the castle. We’re filming from around 8 to the time he had to be ready to go. I think the latest I got home was 2 in the morning.”
She continued: “Then you’ve got the challenges, and you’ve got to hurry and change. So obviously, I absolutely love the experience, and it’s one of those things where you are just dying not to leave. So, in the game, I love it and anyone would be heartbroken to leave. But that being said, your body is so tired too.”
New episodes of The Traitors will be released on Peacock Thursdays until March 6.
Katy Perry had the best day “catching up” with Taylor Swift backstage at the Eras Tour last year.
“I actually went and did a show in Australia very quickly and I had one day off before the show,” Perry, 40, recalled in a Friday, January 17, TikTok video with U.K. radio show Capital. “I had one day off and I was like, ‘Hey girl, I’m gonna come to the show’ and she was so excited.”
She continued, “I was so excited. People gave me bracelets, and I think Rita Ora gave me a bracelet. I loved it. It’s just like a big community — an adorable, sweet community.”
Perry attended one of Swift’s February 2024 shows in Sydney, later meeting up with the fellow pop star backstage.
“I got to see her and we got to catch up,” Perry gushed to Capital, referring to the Instagram selfie that the pair took to capture the moment. “I love her so much.”
Swift, 35, and Perry became friends in 2009 after they both made their initial mark on the music scene. They later sparked feud speculation after their respective flings with John Mayer and rumors surfaced that Perry poached Swift’s backup dancers for her own tour.
“She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business,” Swift claimed to Rolling Stone in 2014. “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
At the time, Swift said that she vowed to never mention Perry publicly again. They ultimately buried the hatchet by 2018, one year before the “I Kissed a Girl” singer made a surprise appearance in Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video.
“I just thought, you know, she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support,” Perry said on KIIS 1065’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show in July 2018, referring to her music video cameo and Swift’s Reputation Tour. ”And truly, as I was finishing mine, I realized how much we have in common. And maybe there’s only five other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and understand where we’re coming from, and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other.”
After Perry and partner Orlando Bloom welcomed daughter Daisy two years later in 2020, Swift sent a homemade baby blanket to congratulate the new parents.
Brian Baumgartner is thrilled about the upcoming spinoff of The Office — but he wanted to clarify a misconception that the OG cast is returning for the new installment.
“Everything that I’ve heard about it sounds amazing. I have no doubt that fans are going to enjoy it,” Baumgartner, 52, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting his participation in the Hilton Grand Vacations 2025 Tournament of Champions later this month. “I wish the messaging was a little clearer about what it was.”
Baumgartner noted that creator Greg Daniels has tried to specify that the project isn’t a revival, adding, “Greg has tried really hard to get that out there. The thing that is difficult is there are still people who believe that we’re going back to Dunder Mifflin in the next couple of months. That certainly isn’t happening.”
While Baumgartner is excited for the spinoff, he hoped viewers know that the series will be focused on an entirely new location and set of characters.
“Michael Koman, who is a cocreator with Greg, is a really smart guy and Greg is a genius. He has been so reticent about stepping into that world because he’s not wanting to upset the fans,” the actor continued. “I do think, however, that at some point in time, the gang will get back together. I don’t think that we’ll do another nine but I think we will get back together.”
He added: “That there’s an appetite for it — internally, from us. And when Greg has an idea that he feels is worthy then it sounds like most people would be game to get back together.”
The hit NBC sitcom, which aired from 2005 to 2013, focused on the lives of office employees at Dunder Mifflin paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Office starred Baumgartner, Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Angela Kinsey, B.J. Novak, Melora Hardin, Kate Flannery and more familiar faces.
There’s been a demand for a reboot or revival since The Office came to an end. Daniels found a way to expand the franchise by developing an original series that will follow the same mockumentary format while being set in the same universe.
According to the logline, the documentary crew “that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.” The current rumored title for the Peacock series is The Paper but no official name has been announced yet.
Daniels previously has clarified that while the new installment is “set in the same universe” as the original, it isn’t considered a reboot or a revival.
“I don’t like to think of anything as a reboot. Because I feel like we ended that story beautifully. The characters had closure,” he told TheWrap in November 2023. “I would never want to redo that same show with a different cast, because I think we got the luckiest cast, the best cast ever, in TV, to do that show. So the notion of a reboot is not of interest.”
Just like devoted fans of The Office, Baumgartner is on the edge of his seat waiting for more information about the Peacock series. For now, however, Baumgartner’s focus has shifted to personal accomplishments, such as his participation in the Hilton Grand Vacations 2025 Tournament of Champions later this month.
“As a competitive person — and as someone who’s participated in sports all their life — it’s this unique experience for me over the last 15 to 20 years as I’ve been doing this. To actually be participating in a professional tournament where I am well aware that there is no chance for me to win,” he quipped. “Ultimately, I know why I’m there. It is to have a good time and to try to have the people who are there watching have a good time to compete. I take it seriously. And I hope that I hit a few good shots that the people watching are surprised about.”
Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something about the winter blues that makes me want to have a major skin glow-up. I mean if you think about it, winter is the best time to invest in skin-plumping body care so we can reap the results by the time swimsuit season rolls around. By investing in hydrating treatments while the weather is depressing and cold, we can feel confident about showing a little skin come spring because it will be hydrated, firm and glowing. It’s a no-brainer, really.
Whether you’re battling dry, sagging or wrinkly skin this winter, it’s time to invest in a rich body cream to get a head start on your winter glow-up. We found this luxurious body cream that has racked up over 4,000 fans on Amazon for ‘smoothing and tightening’ crepey skin in just a few uses. And considering we’re all wearing sweaters and long pants for the next several weeks, it’s the perfect time to stock up and start lathering it all over your body.
Packed with super hydrators like squalane, coconut oil and cocoa butter, this fast-absorbing cream offers up to 72 hours of hydration. It’s safe to apply all over your body — arms, legs, tummy — and works best when applied twice per day.
Anyone with sensitive skin will be delighted to know the cream is fragrance-free, making it safe to apply on your neck and face. Plus, it supports natural collagen production to make skin look (and feel) more firm, plump and hydrated. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take that over dry, uncomfortably itchy skin all winter.
Don’t take my word for it — here’s what more than 4,000 loyal fans have to say about the rich body cream.
“The product is rich, fragrance free (perfect), a high-level moisturizer and does an impressive job of smoothing and tightening skin to a surprising degree,” one five-star reviewer explains. “In addition, the jar contains a very generous portion for the cost, and only a small amount is needed.”
“Upon first application your skin improves a lot,” another happy shopper shares. “I’m skeptical that it will change it permanently over time. But I’m thrilled that I now can wear short sleeves without looking 10 years older. I avoided short sleeves for years and it was very difficult to find summer clothes that worked. Now, I use the product on my arms, and follow with a tinted sunscreen, and they look great. No other moisturizer compares for this purpose.”
Considering the cream can be applied all over your body (including the neck and face), this treatment is like five skincare products in one. That alone makes the price more than worth it! Your skin will thank you later for keeping it hydrated and smooth all winter long.
Khloé Kardashian and her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, will come face-to-face in an upcoming episode of The Kardashians.
“I honestly think timing is everything,” Khloé, 40, said in a confessional, which aired during a Friday, January 17, trailer for season 6 of the Hulu docuseries, before she asked sister Kim Kardashian and mom Kris Jenner who she recently saw in person.
Kim, 44, and Kris, 69, were in shock that Khloé was referring to Lamar, 45. (Khloé and Lamar were married from 2009 to 2013.)
“This is insane,” Kim quipped before Kris tearfully called the NBA alum “the love of [Khloé’s] life.”
“I don’t even know this person anymore,” the Good American founder added in a voiceover. “In this family, there has to be drama.”
She also appeared to get into a heated conversation with Lamar.
“It’s the truth,” Khloé proclaimed. “The truth hurts one time. A lie hurts several times.”
Khloé married Lamar in September 2009 after one month of dating, soon chronicling their romance on a Khloé & Lamar E! docuseries. The reality TV star filed for divorce four years later but postponed her court motion after Lamar was left comatose after overdosing at a legal brothel in Nevada. Khloé served as Lamar’s caretaker while he recovered. She refiled for divorce in May 2016, which was finalized seven months later.
“The reason why I turned to the gym was actually through my divorce. I didn’t really know what to do,” Khloé recalled to InStyle in a 2023 profile. “Of course, in the beginning, you [have to] get over that hump of it being really hard and something so new for you. But I felt so accomplished. I’m sort of a control freak, but in life we can’t control everything. But the gym, what I put in it, I know I’m going to get out of it. And being a control freak — I’m proud of it — I love that I have that control.”
She later moved on with Tristan Thompson, whom she dated on and off between 2016 and 2021. They share daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 2.
Khloé’s family life — and her milestone 40th birthday — will be among the story lines on The Kardashians season 6. The teaser also highlighted Kourtney Kardashian “stepping out of retirement,” sisterly fights and Kim balancing business endeavors and parenthood with a new love interest.
“I had the intention of staying single — I was fully lying to you guys,” Kim said in a confessional. “Me not dating and not wanting love and attention? I don’t think you know me!”
The Kardashians season 6 premieres Thursday, February 6, on Hulu.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles won Us over when they played brothers on Supernatural — and they have remained booked and busy since The CW show came to an end.
Padalecki and Ackles played the monster-hunting duo from 2005 to 2020. After appearing in over 300 episodes of the hit series, Padalecki exclusively told Us Weekly that he felt he would “never really say goodbye” to his character.
“We really have become a family,” he said at the time about the journey. “Over 15 years, we’ve cut the fat. We didn’t fire anybody but if they didn’t like being there, they move on. So the people that are there want to be there.”
Ackles felt the same way, which inspired him to expand the Supernatural universe. (The Winchesters series ran from 2022 to 2023 and focused on Dean (Ackles) and Sam’s (Padalecki) parents in the ’70s.)
“It’s a long journey,” Ackles teased during a TV Critics’ Association press tour panel that same year. “I don’t think it’s ever going to be over. It’s just going to go away for a while. I don’t know how long.”
Outside of Supernatural, Padalecki and Ackles have scored a plethora of opportunities — some of which even allowed them to cross paths again. Keep scrolling for an extensive breakdown of their ongoing list of TV projects:
‘Walker’ Universe
Padalecki initially remained at The CW after wrapping up Supernatural. He was cast as the lead on the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot from 2020 to 2024, where he also served as executive producer. After Walkerinspired the Walker: Independence prequel, Padalecki had an unnamed cameo in one episode.
Ackles, meanwhile, joined Walker as a director, but also scored a cameo in the role of Miles Vyas.
‘Fire Country’ Franchise
Season 3 of CBS’ hit series Fire Country introduced Padalecki as Camden Casey in a three-episode arc meant to set up a potential spinoff. Fire Country: Surfside would follow Padalecki as a California firefighter dealing with the aftermath of his brother’s death in the field.
Ackles’ role as Soldier Boy on The Boys was a shocking departure for those of Us who loved him as Dean on Supernatural. The shakeup, however, paved the way for Ackles to score his own prequel series titled Vought Rising — and a guest spot on the Gen V spinoff.
Padalecki joined in on the fun with a yet-to-be-announced role in the fifth and final season. The opportunity reunites Padalecki with Ackles and creator Eric Kripke, who was part of Supernatural before coming onboard The Boys.
Unnamed Medical Drama
After working with showrunner Anna Fricke on Walker, Padalecki reunited with her on an untitled series for CBS about a headstrong country doctor practicing a unique style of improvisational medicine. The show is in development as part of Padalecki’s ongoing first-look deal.
‘Big Sky’
A guest role in season 2 led to Ackles joining the main cast of Big Sky as Beau Arlen alongside Reba McEntire.
‘The Winchesters’
Ackles found a way to return to his roots with The Winchesters, a Supernatural spinoff set in an alternate continuity. The actor narrated the show as his character Dean and served as an executive producer alongside wife Danneel Ackles.
Proving once again that Ackles knows what his fans want, he signed on to play Justin Harley‘s onscreen brother on Tracker. In addition to the Smallville reunion, the introduction to Ackles as Russell paved the way for some fun Easter eggs.
‘Countdown’
The upcoming Prime Video series stars Ackles as Mark, a LAPD officer who is recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to investigate a suspicious murder that takes place in broad daylight.
Cue the Reputation (Taylor’s Version) theories because Taylor Swiftis looking “so gorgeous” in an all-black ensemble.
Swift, 35, stepped out in style on Friday, January 17, for dinner at New York City hotspot Nobu in a cropped black Area peacoat and a matching miniskirt from the brand, which she paired with color-coordinated Chloé knee-high boots and a Jimmy Choo handbag. The pop star also matched her manicure to the ensemble, painting her nails in a matte charcoal hue.
Swift accessorized her ‘fit — which eagle-eyed social media fans believe matched her OG Reputation color scheme to potentially hint at the next rerecording — with monogrammed Chanel earrings and her signature red lip.
For glam, Swift wore her hair down with side-swept bangs as the locks cascaded off one shoulder while she strutted down the NYC sidewalk.
The 14-time Grammy winner was joined on Friday by her parents,Andrea and Scott, as well as her brother, Austin. The close-knit Swift family also dined with the singer’s friend Ashley Avignone.
Swift’s Big Apple outing took place one day before her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs kick off the divisional playoff round. The reigning Super Bowl champs have a home game against the Houston Texans on Saturday, January 18, for a slot in the upcoming AFC conference championship. Earlier this week, Kelce, 35, teased that Swift would be in attendance.
“You know it, baby,” the tight end quipped on the Pat McAfee Show. “You know it’s playoff football, man. … I’m feeling fired up. I’m ‘feeling 22’ [like Swift’s song] all over again, baby. Let’s go!”
Swift and Kelce have dating since summer 2023, months before she started cheering him on at football games. (Swift even made it to the 2024 Super Bowl last February, dressed in bedazzled Area jeans, a matching corset and “87” jewelry in honor of Kelce’s jersey number.)
“Me and Taylor are happy and I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium,” Kelce gushed on the Wednesday, January 15, episode of the Stephen A. Smith Show. “She loves coming to Arrowhead [Stadium] and coming to the games and cheering for me, so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you don’t have to hit the gym every day to achieve a lifted booty. The secret is finding comfortable bottoms with hidden features that seamlessly lift your bum like magic. My favorite type of pant for achieving a heart-shaped booty are leggings. Yes, you heard that right — so many leggings and flared yoga pants are specifically designed to enhance your curves. All you have to do is slip ’em on!
I’ve tested dozens of butt-lifting leggings from Amazon, but none of them achieve the results I want quite like the Sunzel Invisible Butt Scrunch Leggings. Bonus: These leggings are high-waisted and boast a thick, double-layered waistband for sucking in the tummy. I mean, what’s not to love?
When shopping for butt-lifting leggings, some key features to look for are a V-shaped back seaming, an invisible butt scrunch and a high waist. I’m sure there are low-waisted leggings that can make your peach look fabulous, but low-waisted pants aren’t comfortable (so don’t even bother!). These Sunzel leggings check all the boxes and more. I seriously get so many compliments on the color and silhouette of these leggings!
Available in nearly two dozen colors and five sizes, there’s a fun hue for everyone, whether you want to show off in hot pink or prefer a more versatile hue like black. Plus, you can choose from four inseam lengths to achieve the perfect fit. Oh, and there’s side pockets!
“They are so soft, the periwinkle color is beautiful,” one happy shopper raves. “I use them for the gym and have bought several pairs. The high waist gives decent tummy control, without pressing down too much. The scrunch is very subtle, so it accentuates the glutes without being too in-your-face. Besides, it is so difficult to find affordable leggings with a scrunch, no front seam and pockets. These legging get the balance just right for me.”
Sometimes the ultimate confidence boost is buying a pair of butt-lifting leggings. At a price like this, it only makes sense to buy a few colors!
When it comes to filming sex scenes for TV shows and movies, actors have had a variety of good and bad experiences.
Intimacy coordinator Brooke M. Haney previously opened up to Us Weekly about how filming steamy scenes between actors goes down on set. Contrary to what some fans may think, Haney said that it isn’t “very common” for actors to get aroused while filming sex scenes.
“We’re at work, right? With the lights bearing down, microphones, a couple of cameras in your face, director, DP [director of photography] and other necessary crew watching on monitors, it’s just not that sexy,” she exclusively shared with Us in 2024.
However, “Sometimes bodies have physiological responses that are outside of our control,” she noted. “When that does happen, I tell the actor to do a few push-ups or some jumping jacks. That moves the blood to a different location and we’re all good.”

1. I’ve given all of my awards away for two reasons: I don’t want my success to be constantly reaffirmed every day as something that happened in the past, and I also retain great cynicism when it comes to awards and awards ceremonies. You don’t get to meet the people that nominate you and figure out whether you want them to tell you if you are good or not. Let me also say I’m very grateful to be invited to the party and I’m a very sensitive person that if you don’t tell me I exist, then I don’t exist. So it’s a very interesting conundrum in the industry that I find myself in.

“She’s enjoying being single and is feeling herself,” a source exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly, four months after Lopez, 55, and Affleck’s marriage came to an end. (Lopez and Affleck later settled their divorce on January 6, per documents obtained by Us.)
The insider adds that Lopez, who was recently spotted reuniting with Affleck, 52, and his 12-year-old son Samuel, has no regrets. (Affleck shares Samuel, Violet, 19, and Seraphina, 16, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez, for her part, is a mom to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, with whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.)
“She was very in love with Ben, but love isn’t enough sometimes,” the source shares. “Things worked out for the best and how they were supposed to.”
For now, the actress is “having fun” while she’s “working on some big movie projects and enjoying showing how amazing she looks.”
Before Lopez and Affleck formally called it quits, the pair collaborated on the movie Unstoppable. While Affleck produced the film through his and longtime pal Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity, Lopez is starring as one of the actors on the big screen.
The premiere for the movie was scheduled to take place on January 7, but was canceled at the last minute due to the Los Angeles wildfires that began earlier this month.
“As much as we were looking forward to celebrating this wonderful and inspiring film with you, safety is our first priority,” a rep for Amazon said in a statement to Us on at the time. “We encourage everyone to watch Unstoppable on Prime Video, which will be available globally on January 16. Thank you for your understanding and please stay safe.”
After tens of thousands of locals were forced to evacuate, several celebrities — including Lopez — stepped up to aid relief efforts. (Lopez has also canceled several scheduled media appearances.)
On Monday, January 15, the A List took to their Instagram Story to share their appreciation for Lopez’s clothing donation. While calling the donations “generous” and “beautiful,” the company shared that they were”beyond grateful” for Lopez’s contribution.
Sleep struggles, bad hair days, stress: no matter who you are, there are just some issues that plague us all — even our favorite celebrities.
“Our worth and our beauty isn’t dependent, necessarily, on how our hair looks. Actually, a bad hair day can be a good opportunity for you to sit with an uncomfortable feeling and see what that brings up for you and see why you feel this way,” Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness shares in the latest Us Weekly cover story, on newsstands now. “If you can accept something — not saying you’re going to accept something that’s bad forever — but if you can just accept it for that day, it’s like throw it up, put it in a little clip, put it in a little twist. Try again the next day because it’s OK. We all have bad hair days. I’ve had many a bad hair day in my route to learning how to style my hair.”
Van Ness — a renowned hairstylist with their own haircare line — was just one of 101 celebs and experts we asked for words of wisdom.
“I’m a very good homemaker, and I’ve learned all the tricks,” Martha Stewart told Us. “I think people should pay attention to their home more than they do and learn the little things, like how to dry your shower with a towel that you just dried yourself with.”

It’s OK to Say No
5. “I try to really enjoy the moment and not overbook myself. Sometimes you say yes, yes, yes, yes, and then you don’t really feel like it, but you feel bad. Don’t Judge Others
6. “As a child star, I was around people at a very young age. What I learned is you don’t judge anybody. And I kept that mentality as I got older and it’s worked out well. You let people show who they are … it’s a lot less stress on you. Don’t project on others. Let everybody start at zero — zero to 100, baby.” –Romeo Miller
Stress Can Be Useless
7. “I’m really trying to worry less because I think it creates bad health. Then it’s just a downward spiral. It’s really hard, but sometimes you have to be like, ‘OK, I don’t have control of this. If You Gossip, You’ll be Gossiped About

Actually, a bad hair day can be a good opportunity for you to sit with an uncomfortable feeling and see what that brings up for you and see why you feel this way. I remember in yoga when I was 12, this idea of what you resist persists and what you accept flows. If you can accept something — not saying you’re going to accept something that’s bad forever — but if you can just accept it for that day, it’s like throw it up, put it in a little clip, put it in a little twist. Take Criticism With a Grain of Salt
16. “I’ve had quite the journey with criticism over the last few years. When I’ve had those moments where I have felt heavily criticized, I take a minute and consider the source. There’s a great quote: ‘Don’t take advice from people who are not in the arena, do not listen to criticism from people who are not in the arena.’ That’s been very helpful to me. I don’t think that all criticism is bad, but I think the society we’re living in today, the first thing we do is criticize. It’s as if we have lost the ability to see the light in something. The first thing we do is find fault. So I just don’t listen to criticism from people who are not in the arena anymore.” –Ariana DeBose
Don’t Give Up
17. “Just because something doesn’t happen right away doesn’t mean that it won’t down the road. It’s always good to not naysay things that don’t come to fruition. But as a mom of three … I feel like that mantra has really helped me.” –Jennifer Love Hewitt

When Jessica Simpson married Eric Johnson in July 2014, it seemed like it was for keeps — but, with the couple announcing their split about a decade later on Monday, January 13, we’re remembering the last time the singer endured a public breakup. That would be her on-off relationship with John Mayer, which ended in 2010, just a few months before she met Johnson. Let’s look back at what went down during the unlikely union — including nine splits in four years.
How it Began
Simpson, now 44, has helpfully told this tale — and many others! — in her highly revealing 2020 autobiography, Open Book. When she first met Mayer, now 47, it was 2005 and she was still married to Nick Lachey. The two, very stylistically different, musicians were introduced at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party, with Mayer complimenting Simpson on her hit ballad, “With You”. They became occasional penpals and then, when Simpson divorced Lachey in 2006 after four years of marriage, they began seeing each other in secret.
By early 2007, they were being spotted together on the regular, but it was only when Mayer was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest at the Grammys that year that he seemingly confirmed their relationship… except, true to his quirky style, he did it in Japanese, saying words that roughly translated to “She’s a lovely woman, and I’m glad to be with her.” Oh-kaaaay.
How Long it Lasted
The couple’s first split was widely reported in May 2007, but they were soon back together. In fact, Simpson recalled while promoting her book that they actually broke up another eight times before finally calling it quits in 2010. “We were great at intimacy,” she said in a 2020 Today interview. “We were great at loving each other. That was easy, but the relationship was very complex. And it was always on-again, off-again, on-again off-again. And I went back close to nine times!”
How it Ended
Well, you might know this part already. In a 2010 interview with Playboy that quickly gained infamy, Mayer was a little too revealing about his intoxicating relationship with Simpson, scuppering all chances of them reuniting for a tenth time — thank goodness!
“That girl, for me, is a drug,” he said. “And drugs aren’t good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually, it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f—ing snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f— you, I would start selling all my s— just to keep f—ing you’.”
Understandably, the professionally squeaky-clean Simpson wasn’t delighted about being described in such lurid terms (she later said, “I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that”) and she immediately cut the singer-songwriter out of her life. “I erased his number,” she wrote in her memoir. “He made it easy for me to walk away. I didn’t accept his apology. I deleted all his contact information from my phone. I was done with this man in a way I never thought was possible. When he reached out to me, I changed my number and changed my email. Delete.” Boom — there’s that napalm in action!
What They Said About Each Other
Thankfully, some of the couple’s other comments about their relationship were a little more grandmother-friendly.
“He’d walk into a room and pick up his guitar, and you’d swoon,” Simpson told People in 2020, recalling her first impressions of Mayer when they met. “I didn’t really know the man behind the guitar. And that was my mission.”
And in a February 2007 chat with Time Out New York, Mayer said he didn’t care if people thought they were an odd couple. “I’m having the best time of my life,” he said. “So if the names don’t make sense to people, that’s so small to me.”
What They Say Now
Since their relationship was so surprising and, ultimately, controversial, it’s a topic that has come up many times in interviews over the years — as well as getting a full analysis in Open Book.
“He wanted to have all of me or nothing,” Simpson wrote. “Again and again, he told me he was obsessed with me, sexually and emotionally. I would get up to go to the bathroom, and John would ask, ‘Where are you going?’. While I was married, my ex-husband couldn’t be bothered to figure out what city I was in. It felt safe to be desired. I know John would never cheat on me, and that confidence was a new feeling for me.”
Simpson said that Mayer’s intensely sexual comments about her felt like an unexpected betrayal from the man she thought she could depend on to adore her. “He thought that was what I wanted to be called,” she wrote. “A woman and how they are in bed is not something that is ever talked about. It was shocking. He was the most loyal person on the planet, and when I read that he wasn’t, that was it for me.”
While promoting the book, Simpson told E! News that Mayer is forgiven… kind of. “I definitely don’t feel that I am owed a public apology,” she said. “You can’t take it back. And I’m a very forgiving person, but I’m also honest. So, in the memoir, if I’m gonna talk about stuff that caused me pain, I’m going to be honest about it. And that was a time in my life that I was very manipulated and very also in love, or seemingly.”
The older and wiser Simpson also knows now that her friends were never on board with the relationship. “He’d dump me, then come back saying he had discovered he loved me after all,” she wrote. “I always saw it as him mercilessly taking me in from the cold. Every time John returned, I thought it was a continuation of a love story, while my friends saw a guy coming back for sex with some foolish girl.”
Simpson also noted in the book that, during the relationship, she worried that Mayer was too clever for her — a source of sensitivity due to her being caricatured at the time as a “dumb blonde” which, of course, we’ve since learned couldn’t be further from the truth.
“I constantly worried that I wasn’t smart enough for him,” she wrote. “He was so clever and treated conversation like a friendly competition that he had to win.” She even said she used to get friends to proof-read her messages to him, in case he judged any typos. “My anxiety would spike and I would pour another drink,” she said. “It was the start of me relying on alcohol to mask my nerves.”
Ever since that Playboy interview, Mayer has sensibly kept a little quieter about his time with Simpson — but when Open Book was published in 2020, Mayer’s close friend Andy Cohen broached the topic with him. “I’ve heard about it,” said Mayer of the memoir. “I’ve heard some bits. But as Pee Wee Herman says in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure before the movie of his life is about to play out at the end, he’s not watching the movie, and the reason he’s not watching the movie, he says, ‘I don’t have to watch it, Dottie, I lived it.’ And I think that’s prescient here.”
But did Mayer ever officially apologize about the “sexual napalm” comments that devastated Simpson? Well, almost. On stage in Nashville in 2010, he was filled with regret, explaining “In a quest to be clever, I completely forgot about the people I loved and the people who loved me” and saying he had been in “a wormhole of selfishness, greediness and arrogance”.
Later, in 2012, in an interview on NPR’s All Things Considered, he offered a similar explanation. “I had nothing to say,” he said. “I was going through a time in my life where I didn’t really want to share what was going on, but I didn’t want to be boring. When you’re just open, but not honest, then you start free-associating garbage. It doesn’t mean I can go back and scrub it out, but I understand it now.”
Key Relationship Takeaways
This relationship was basically a ticking time-bomb. As Simpson herself said in her book, “He loved me in the way that he could and I loved that love for a very long time. Too long. And I went back and forth with it for a long time. But it did control me.”
Some people even believed Simpson changed her image for Mayer, dying her trademark blonde hair brunette to please him — but she maintains that this wasn’t true. “He didn’t make me go brunette,” she told Allure after their split. “John doesn’t get credit for making me brunette. He’d like to think so, but he doesn’t deserve the credit.”
With both stars now seemingly single, we doubt Simpson will be unblocking Mayer’s number any time soon. Because ultimately, as she puts it, “That was Jess in her 20s.”
Now, as a 44-year old mom of three, she knows better — and as for Mayer? He hasn’t behaved quite so recklessly since, so perhaps they both learned something.
