Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ mom, Connie Boss Alexander, is speaking out as his widow, Allison Holker, continues to spark controversy. In a lengthy statement shared via social media on Thursday, January 9, Boss Alexander addressed the “hurtful and misleading claims” made about her son more than two years after he died by suicide in December 2022. “As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He doesn’t deserve this, and the kids don’t deserve this,” her message continued, adding that she and her family are “committed to defending [tWitch’s] honor.” Holker recently drew backlash for airing personal details about her late husband — including his alleged drug problem and childhood sexual abuse — in a recent interview before the release of her forthcoming memoir. She defended her book via social media, explaining, “I hope that by sharing our full story maybe I can help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one in Stephen.” Find more exclusive updates and top stories below:

Kelly Clarkson’s two children, River and Remy, are all grown up in their first interview on their mom’s talk show.
“Y’all may remember a couple weeks ago I had my kiddos River and Remy on set. That’s a cool perk we get as a family when the show tapes on a Saturday,” the singer, 42, said on the Wednesday, January 8 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Like their mama, both my kids love singing. And when Remy got to set, he surprised us. He wanted his chance at the microphone, and he literally said, ‘Who do I have to talk to to sing my song?’ I was like, ‘OK,’ so of course, we made it happen.”
Last month, Remy, 8, went viral after Clarkson shared a snippet of her son singing the classic Frank Sinatra tune “My Way.” So Clarkson decided they were going to show the full video of Remy’s performance. In the clip, Remy took the stage and sang his heart out. As he belted out the power ballad, Clarkson and River, 10, cheered him on from the wings. After the song was done, Remy got a standing ovation from the audience. Clarkson ran over to him to give her son a big hug.
After showing the performance, Clarkson had a special treat for the audience as Remy and River were back in the studio.
“I’m so stoked because both my kids are here again. Let’s bring them out, y’all,” Clarkson told the audience. “Everyone say hi to River and Remy!”
River and Remy walked out and gave their mom a hug before sitting down on the couch. The siblings were all made up for their big TV appearance. River rocked a black and white blouse with straight hair and bangs — similar to her mom’s iconic look. Remy, for his part, looked dashing in a green-striped blazer.
“Oh my god, look at you. You got makeup on and your hair is done,” Clarkson gushed. “This is not how we look at home.”
Clarkson then asked her son why he wanted to perform that particular song. Remy explained he just really liked it, especially after he saw it in Sing 2. Clarkson teased that she and River have gotten used to hearing “My Way” a lot at home.
“I can’t even count … how many times,” River teased of how often her brother belts out “My Way.”
Clarkson shared that she and River hear Remy practicing the song a lot because he’s gearing up to sing it at a couple events for his school. That was one of the main reasons why he wanted to give singing in front of a live audience a try. Kelly also shared Remy’s reaction after the snippet of the song went viral.
“I said, ‘Man buddy, you’ve got over a million views I think on your video,’” she recalled. “And he goes, ‘Do you get that many views?’ I was like, ‘Calm down — and not often.’”
Just like Remy, Clarkson noted that she can always hear her “country queen” daughter in her room practicing music. The American Idol winner turned it over to River to share what she likes to do musically. Just like her mom, she enjoys singing and writing music.
“I put that together in a journal that I forgot at home because I am a forgetter in my family,” River confessed. “But I do that a lot in my room, and I spend hours and hours and hours singing [and] trying to do a song.”
Clarkson proudly shared that River’s songs are “good.”
Clarkson shares both River and Remy with ex-husbandBrandon Blackstock. The pair split in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.
Tran, 27, took to TikTok on Wednesday, January 8, to show off her “Hollywood honey” glam routine.
In the clip, the former Bachelorette started her makeup routine by dotting concealer below her eyes and blending the product in with a sponge. She then used the Too Faced Born This Way Soft Matte foundation and patted it into her skin with a brush.
Tran added a pop of color to her eyes with a burgundy eyeshadow in her crease and strategically swept below her eyes.
She then highlighted her cheekbones before giving her base a spritz of setting spray. Tran added a flirty touch to her already long eyelashes with the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.
Tran topped off her glowy makeup with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat liner in the shade Hollywood Honey. She slightly overlined her lips before filling it in with Dior’s Lip Oil.
Tran’s outfit was just as noteworthy as her glam: a blue corset mini dress featuring a strapless neckline and an A-line skirt. Tran gave her fans a twirl before blowing the camera a kiss.
“Hollywood honey charlotte tillbury liner is my new fav for a night out!!!” Tran captioned the post.
Fans complimented Tran’s pinkalicious look in the comments section. “Your glam is always perfect! ,” one wrote. A second added, “STUNNING Jenn .” A third praised her blush placement, “I need to try the blush on the nose! Genius!”
Tens of thousands of people — including A-list celebrities — have evacuated following the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, leading many to wonder how to help those in need.
“This is the moment to reach out to anyone who lives in Los Angeles, who you think might be in some sort of traumatic shock and grief about losing their homes and the devastation of their neighborhoods and communities and offer your hand, home and resources,” Jamie Lee Curtis wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 9, alongside aerial images of the destruction in the area. “We are going to have to come together,as we may never have done before, in the City of Angels and help each other. AND WE WILL!”
The Oscar winner donated $1 million to a relief fund, but even those who can’t afford to donate a blockbuster-size paycheck can help.
While GoFundMe has created a centralized hub for all the fundraising pages for those affected by the wildfire, other organizations including the Salvation Army have sprang into action to provide aid.

Nonprofit organization World Central Kitchen is providing food and water to both residents and first aid responders. “Our teams have mobilized across the region to provide immediate relief in the form of sandwiches and water as we identify all areas of need,” the organization said in a statement.
How to Help Provide Shelter
Katie Couric and Lea Michele are among the many celebs that noted The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles is providing emergency shelter, food, water, health and mental services to those impacted. The shelter is located at Westwood Recreation Center in Los Angeles.
“Wildfires can spread rapidly, and it is important to prepare now and have your car ready; do not wait until there is not enough time to grab your essentials,” the organization said in a statement.
The organization is accepting donations online, by calling (800) 733-2767 or texting REDCROSS to 90999.
How to Help With Medical Care
Direct Relief is in communication with local health providers and emergency management teams.
“The organization is currently deploying medical aid, including emergency medical supplies for first responders and displaced residents, and respiratory protection equipment, including N95 respirators, to mitigate health risks from smoke exposure,” the organization wrote in a statement.
Camila Morrone encouraged Instagram followers “to help our LAFD firefighters” with the LA Fire Department Foundation’s Wildfire Emergency Fund. The organization is supporting local firefighters to finance emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks and wildland brush tools.
The California Fire Foundation is also providing support to surviving firefighters and their families by commemorating firefighters who died, offering aid to victims of fire and scholarships to children of firefighters who died.
The CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation is also offering financial aid to firefighters and their families as well as supporting burn victims and their families.
How to Help Animals
Sophia Bush and Kylie Jenner both shared a post flagging several animal shelters, including the Pasadena Humane Society, which is helping to ensure pets are removed from the areas where wildfire is spreading and providing emergency services.
“If you are under evacuation orders, please take your pets with you. Prepare now. Pack a ‘go bag’ with your pet’s food (at least five days worth), water, dishes, toys, and any medications. Ensure your pet is wearing a collar with a current ID tag in case they get lost,” they said in a statement.
The organization will have Animal Control Officers onsite at the Pasadena Convention Center to help with animals. If in need of assistance, residents can call the animal control dispatch at 626-792-7151 ext. 970.
The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles is providing a shelter for pets with Pierce College in Woodland Hills. Jessica Alba shared via Instagram that the Canine Rescue Club is also seeking volunteers for temporary foster care for dogs displaced by the wildfire.
The athleisure brand Set Active is accepting donations of clothing for those impacted by the fire through an Instagram Direct Message. Mandy Patinkin and Jesse Williams shared MutualAid LA’s information, which noted that The Anderson Munger Family YMCA and the Koreatown YMCA Center for Community Well-Being are also accepting donations of items including unopened food, clothing, blankets, emergency supplies and pet food.
Donations can be received at the Anderson Munger Family YMCA, 4301 W. 3rd St. in Los Angeles and at the Koreatown YMCA, 433 S. Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles.
Hailey Bieber shared via Instagram that Baby2Baby is also providing baby products for families affected by the fire, accepting donations online at their Disaster Relief and Emergency Response Program.
“Somebody had messaged me [while on vacation] that I was cut from the cruise. I had no idea,” Aydin, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, January 8. “My manager didn’t want to tell me. She didn’t want anything to ruin my trip. Then I went to the website and I saw my name wasn’t there. And you know what? I took it like a champ.”
Aydin was expected to join her Real Housewives of New Jersey costars Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania on a luxury cruise experience aboard the brand-new Norwegian Aqua in September 2025. Titled “Wives on the Waves,” the event would allow guests to vacation with some of their favorite Bravo stars.
A rep for the “Wives on the Waves” cruise confirmed to Us that Aydin would no longer be part of the event after she went viral for criticizing some Jersey Mike’s employees at one of the sandwich shop’s airport occasions.
“This decision was not personal nor an act of canceling anyone. At Fans at Sea, we believe in second chances and personal growth,” Patrick Harbison said in a statement. “Our priority is to create a drama-free, fun-filled experience for everyone. To ensure this, we made adjustments to keep the cruise enjoyable and welcoming for all guests.”
According to Aydin, she accepted the cruise’s decision and didn’t want to fight against the lost opportunity.
“This is a business and this is their business, and I do not want them to receive any backlash because of me,” she told Us. “The cruise was a fun idea for me because I love an opportunity to engage with the fans, but it’s all good. The timing wasn’t the most ideal for my family. The kids are going back to school that week and my kids were already complaining that I had committed to doing it. Everything happens for a reason.”
Jennifer and her husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, share five children including Justin, 20, Gabby, 17, Jacob, 15, Christian, 13, and Olivia, 11.
While Jennifer wishes she could cruise with her fans, “I understand that this is totally business and I respect the cruise’s decision.”
Her treatment of employees went viral — and caught the attention of Andy Cohen — with one worker posting a response in a TikTok video, referring to Jennifer as a “stupid bitch.” A GoFundMe page was also created for another employee featured in Jennifer’s videos.
While speaking with Us, Jennifer asserted that she “was not rude” to any of the food chain’s staff.
“I will call a spade a spade,” she said. “That staff was very highly dismissive, not just to me, to everybody on that line. Everybody was frustrated.”
At the same time, Jennifer admitted that she should not have posted any clips to her 549,000 Instagram followers.
“I’m one that takes full responsibility and accountability for my actions. When I feel I’m wrong, I should not have posted it,” she said. “I just want people to know that that was coming from a very frustrated mom who just wanted to make her flight with her children.”
David Muir is facing backlash for tailoring his flame-retardant jacket.
Fans are unhappy with ABC news anchor Muir, 51, after he seemingly used clothespins to snatch his waist while reporting on the devastating Los Angeles wildfires on Wednesday, January 8.
As Muir turned around to look at the destruction behind him during a newscast, viewers noticed clothespins on the back of his coat. Social media users were quick to share their thoughts on Muir’s snatched look via X.
“People are losing everything they own, no one cares how you look,” one social media user wrote, as a second added, “David Muir is more concerned with his appearance than he is about the fires.” A third person agreed, writing, “California is burning and he doesn’t want his jacket to look baggy on camera. Priorities people!”
David Muir appears to be using clothespins to keep his jacket fitted while reporting on the devastating LA fires
While some fans thought it was unnecessary for Muir to be concerned about his outfit during a devastating natural weather event, others defended the World News Tonight anchor. “Y’all leave David Muir and his clothespin fire jacket alone,” one wrote. “A little waist snatchin’ ain’t hurt nobody.”
A second fan also didn’t mind Muir’s clothespins, writing, “leave david muir ALONEEEEEEEE. He probably just clothes pinned it cuz the wind is insane there. Let him look snacky.”
The wildfires have affected many of Hollywood’s favorites, including Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, Paris Hilton and more.
Dozens of celebrities have spoken out about the fires, including Chrissy Teigen, who evacuated to a hotel with husband John Legend and their four kids: Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 23 months, and Wren, 18 months.
Derick Dillard is setting the record straight about being seen with his father-in-law, Jim Bob Duggar, on Christmas.
Dillard, 35, and wife Jill Duggar, Jim Bob’s estranged daughter, were seen seated on a couch, appearing to talk to the family patriarch in an Instagram photo that Jill’s brother James Duggar, posted on Christmas Day. Jill, 33, and Dillard’s three sons — Israel, 9, Samuel, 7, and Freddie, 2 — were also pictured.
The photo led to speculation that Jim Bob, 59, and his daughter may have mended fences, but Dillard says that is not the case. In a comment via People’s Instagram on Thursday, January 9, Dillard refuted the outlet’s characterization that he and Jill were “mingling” with Jim Bob.
“Just so people know, Jim Bob approached me while we were there on Christmas Day for about 5 minutes, and I do not respect him,” he wrote. “I don’t think that is considered ‘mingling.’ There were over 100 people, the house is 8000 square feet, and Santa Claus was there, so this isn’t your typical intimate family gathering.”
He added that he is trying to keep things civil for the sake of the rest of the family, but that should not be misinterpreted as anything more.
“I have spoken with him less than 10 minutes since the last time we were at that house, which was over a year ago,” he continued. “We’re trying to be civil for the sake of our family, but that doesn’t mean everything is all hunky dorey, and it sure doesn’t mean that I’m not going to comment when people try to warp reality for their own purposes.”
Jill previously revealed that she shares a complicated relationship with her parents after the release of her 2023 memoir, Counting The Cost. In the book, the Counting On alum discusses her family’s involvement in the controversial Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP) religion and her allegedly abusive upbringing as one of 19 kids.
“I feel like we are in a rebuilding phase now with healthy boundaries still in place,” she wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “We try to hang out whenever it works well and we have the bandwidth to navigate things.”
She had previously revealed in January 2024 that she believed her parents were aware of her allegations in Counting The Cost.
“I’ve heard that they did [read my Counting the Cost memoir],” she said on the “Unplanned” podcast at the time. “I heard they, like, listened to it on audiobook or something. I don’t know. … They’re my parents and I’m gonna tread lightly.”
She also spoke of her family dynamic in the 2023 Prime Video docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar FamilySecrets.
“Family relationships were already kinda rocky,” she said in the documentary. “Everything within the family dynamic has shifted, and not for the better.”

Several Making the Band alums have come forward with allegations about Sean “Diddy” Combs over the years, including Danity Kane’s Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day. In the new documentaryDiddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, Da Band’s Sara Rivers is the latest participant to share her story.
“Sometimes people will stop short and say, ‘We’re not willing to go there,’” executive producer Ari Mark exclusively told Us Weekly of Rivers ahead of the film’s Tuesday, January 14, premiere. “Obviously, these things are so sensitive and hard to share. And she, I think, felt brave enough at that point to move forward and share the story.”
In the documentary, Rivers — who appeared on Making the Band 2 from 2002 to 2004 — shared new claims about her time working for Diddy, 55, as part of the group Da Band.
“When he got angry with one of my band members, he said, ‘You make me so mad I wanna eat your flesh,’” she alleged. “And then he said to another one of my band members, ‘You’re rolling your eyes. I could go get a crackhead and pay them $20 to smack the s— out of you.’ Who says that? That’s crazy.”
Rivers, 47, also addressed the famous moment when Diddy told Da Band to walk to Brooklyn from Manhattan to get him cheesecake from Junior’s.
“We walked for eight hours over the Brooklyn Bridge,” Rivers claimed. “We went from Manhattan to Brooklyn, walking. And so I’m doing that stuff because I’m like, ‘I ain’t gonna go home, this is what I’ve been working for.’”
Later in the film, Rivers broke down while recalling that she didn’t want to be around the rapper unless cameras were present.
“He touched me [in] a place that he shouldn’t have,” she alleged. “That was inappropriate. I felt intimidated, I felt like, ‘Oh, my God, what the heck happened just now?’ … I haven’t said anything for so long, and it’s built up — it’s been 20 years of going through my mind like, ‘This has happened, that’s happened, this was stopped.’ Mentally, [it’s] draining.”
Mark told Us that he believes Rivers chose to speak out for the documentary because they could sense there was “authenticity” to the project.
“It’s going to get seen, it’s not going to just get buried, and I think she recognized that,” he told Us. “Hopefully, it was cathartic for her.”
While the film includes interviews with people who knew Diddy during his early years at Uptown Records, it also features conversations with people who knew him as a kid — people who knew him as simply Sean rather than Puff Daddy, Brother Love or any of the other various monikers he’s used throughout his career.
“What we try to do is we try to present the facts and hope that the audience can put those facts in the back of their head while being open-minded about this person’s backstory,” Mark explained. “And then as you unpack that story, it’s not necessarily that you start to have more empathy for that person, but you start to understand them in a more complex way and hopefully walk away from the documentary saying, ‘Wow, how do we avoid these types of situations? How do we live in a world where people like this are not created in this way?’”
Diddy did not participate in the film, but his attorneys issued a statement to producers, saying, “Sean Combs unequivocally denies the baseless allegations being circulated in connection with this documentary. Regarding the legal cases referenced, Mr. Combs will not comment on pending litigation. He will fight them in court, where the facts will be distinguished from fiction.”
In a statement to Us, Diddy’s team added, “This documentary recycles and perpetuates the same lies and conspiracy theories that have been slung against Mr. Combs for months. It is disappointing to see NBC and Peacock rolling in the same mud as unethical tabloid reporters. By providing a platform for proven liars and opportunists to make false criminal accusations, the documentary is irresponsible journalism of the worst kind.”
The mogul has been in jail since his September 2024 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Mark hopes that the film inspires viewers to speak out about experiences they’ve had in their own lives.
“How do we give a sort of mouthpiece for the victims so that people like them who’ve experienced those types of things can come forward in the future and not be afraid to do so?” Mark asked. “It’s probably the best thing we can do as filmmakers. My hope is that it’s not so much that we’re humanizing him, but that we’re telling you the story of Sean as opposed to the story of just Diddy, because I think the two were inextricable.”
Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy premieres on Peacock Tuesday, January 14.
The couple performed together while celebrating the life of longtime friend Carter at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. on Thursday, January 9. Brooks, 62, and Yearwood, 60, performed their own version of “Imagine” by John Lennon alongside the church choir. (Brooks and Yearwood sang the same song at Rosalynn Carter’s 2023 funeral.)
Carter, who made history in 2019 as the longest-living president in U.S. history, died at age 100 on December 29, 2024. Carter’s son Chip honored his dad in a statement, announcing his death. (Carter shared Chip, along with Jack, Jeff and Amy with wife Rosalynn.)
“My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love,” the statement, released by the Carter Center, shared. “My brothers, sister and I shared him with the rest of the world through these common beliefs. The world is our family because of the way he brought people together, and we thank you for honoring his memory by continuing to live these shared beliefs.”
Brooks and Yearwood’s public appearance on Thursday comes after he was accused of sexual assault and battery in an October 2024 lawsuit. A hairstylist and makeup artist, referred to as Jane Roe, alleged that Brooks raped her during a 2019 work trip and sent him sexually explicit text messages. Roe’s lawsuit also claimed that Brooks had made multiple remarks about “having a threesome” with him and Yearwood.
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” the statement read. “It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.”
He continued, “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another. We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”
Brooks filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in November 2024, which was “denied with prejudice” the following month. The denial is, however, temporary and pending the outcome of the lawsuit Brooks preemptively filed against Roe in September. (Referring to himself as “John Doe” in the documents, Brooks alleged that Roe was attempting to extort him with false allegations.”)
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
Before their teams square off in the Orange Bowl, Penn State head coach James Franklin admitted Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman is living his follicle fantasy.
During a Wednesday, January 8, press conference ahead of the game on Thursday night, Franklin, 52, revealed football wasn’t the only thing on his mind when the two coaches addressed the media.
“It’ll be a great game,” Franklin said. “We’re really, really excited about competing. I’m looking over here at Marcus. How old are you now, Marcus?”
Franklin, who is bald, responded, “I mean, I look at the hairline on this guy. Envious of his hairline in a lot of ways.”
Outside of complimenting his physical appearance, Franklin said Freeman has done “a phenomenal job” this season with the Fighting Irish, who earned a trip to the College Football Playoff semifinals after wins over Indiana and Georgia.
Penn State earned its Orange Bowl trip following victories over SMU and Boise State. The winner of Thursday’s game will advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship game against the winner of Ohio State and Texas, who play each other in the Cotton Bowl on Friday, January 10.
In guiding Notre Dame to the semifinals in his third season as head coach, Freeman has seen his notoriety explode. On Wednesday, Freeman was named the winner of the George Munger College Coach of the Year Award.
Freeman was able to celebrate his team’s Sugar Bowl win over Georgia alongside his wife, Joanna, and their six children: son Vinny, 17, daughter Siena, 12, son Gino, 11, son Nico, 9, daughter Capri, 7, and son Rocco, 6.
After the New Orleans-hosted game was delayed due to the truck attack on New Year’s Day, Freeman admitted his staff was slightly behind the eight-ball — but he fully expects his team to be ready for the challenge that Penn State poses.
“I think the coaches, we probably were a little bit behind to start just because of the travel and in that aspect, but physically our guys were good,” Freeman told reporters on Wednesday. “Our guys were good, and we’re going to be ready to roll. But we’ve got to utilize, as you just said, every minute we have from now until tomorrow night at 7:30.”
He added, “That’s the mindset that we all have — is every minute we’ve got to utilize. We didn’t have two extra days, so let’s utilize this time that we have physically and mentally to make sure we’re prepared to go tomorrow night.”
The Orange Bowl between Notre Dame and Penn State kicks off Thursday, January 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
During an emotional speech from Rosalynnand Jimmy Carter’s daughter, Amy Carter, she read a 75-year-old love letter her dad wrote to her mom.
On Thursday, January 9, the former President of the United States was laid to rest. He was 100 at the time of his death.
In a video shared by the current First Lady of the United States Jill Biden, Amy said, “My mom spent most of her life in love with my dad,” as it showed paintings of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter being hung next to one another in black and white.
“This is from a letter he wrote 75 years ago,” she said through tears.
“My darling, every time I have ever been away from you, I have been thrilled when I returned to discover just how wonderful you are. While I’m away I try to convince myself that you really are not, could not be, as sweet and beautiful as I remember.”
“But when I see you,” the letter continues, “I fall in love with you all over again.”
Jill captioned the post, writing “Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had a love story for the ages.”
“We miss them both dearly, but take comfort knowing they are reunited once again. To the entire Carter family, thank you for sharing them with America and the world.”
Those in the comment section agreed with Biden.
“If there was ever a better love story, I’ve yet to see it. May President Carter and FLOTUS Carter both RIP. My sincere condolences to the entire Carter family. If heaven truly exists, I imagine they are young and healthy again, united and happy,” a commenter wrote.
Prior to Rosalynn’s death in November 2023 at 96, Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter were married for 77 years.
She was 18 and he was 21 when they said “I do.” But they knew each other their entire lives.
Our favorite CBS shows are making their midseason comebacks — and the network has released spoiler-filled story lines for each one, including Tracker, Matlock, FBI and more.
Matlock became an overnight hit after the first season premiered in September 2024. The series follows a wealthy retired lawyer named Madeline Kingston (Kathy Bates) who pretends to be a poor widower named Matty Matlock to get a job at a firm. As it turns out, Matty thinks someone at the company is complicit in the opioid epidemic that resulted in her daughter’s death.
According to executive producer and director Kat Coirothe biggest twists are still coming up.
“What’s so brilliant about the show and Jennie [Snyder Urman’s] writing is that it’s very incremental and character-based. The twists have a lot to do with psychology rather than relying on big external factors or plot shifts,” Coiro exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024. “You get so invested in these characters that small revelations become really exciting.”
NCIS: Origins, meanwhile, previously ended on a high note after it was revealed that Gibbs (Austin Stowell) killed Pedro Hernandez (George Paez) off screen after the cartel leader murdered Gibbs’ family.
“At the beginning, the writers’ room let us know certain overarching story lines that might play out. But what [creators] Gina [Lucita Monreal] and David [J. North] have said from the very beginning is that they wanted to write for us and get to know us and see what works as we’re shooting. So I think we are informing them about their own characters as we go episode to episode,” Stowell shared with Us in November 2024 about the prequel series. “I’m not many episodes ahead. And we still have crimes to solve and memories to go back to. There are certain events coming in the next few episodes that are incredibly important to the story of NCIS and to the story of Gibbs that I’m really excited to share with the fans of the show.”

The family’s first reality series, 19 Kids and Counting, quickly became one of the most popular shows on TLC from 2008 to 2015. They later returned for a spinoff, Counting On, which ran for 11 seasons before the network canceled it in June 2021.
Due to their conservative Christian background, the family enforces a number of strict rules when it comes to courting. Kissing, hand-holding and other physical markers of affection aren’t allowed until a couple’s wedding day. Early in the courtship process, partners must have a chaperone present on their dates. For many of the Duggar daughters, their brothers have been by their sides when getting to know their suitors.
“Having that accountability really keeps things from going in the wrong direction,” Jim Bob told Today in 2014.

Some of the kids then branched off on their own, starring onCounting On, beginning in 2015. The spinoff was canceled after 11 seasons in 2021 following Josh’s sexual misconduct scandal. “I haven’t eaten in 36 hours, so that’s fun,” the former Bachelor, 44, quipped during the Thursday, January 9, episode of his “The Viall Files” podcast. “I started a water fast. I’m not recommending it to anyone [and] this is not some sort of, ‘Do this with me.’”
According to Viall, the diet is “supposed to be really healthy” for individuals.
“It’s supposed to reduce your chance of cancer, it’s supposed to be good for inflammation, it’s supposed to reduce your chance of Alzheimer’s and things like that,” Viall claimed, noting he first heard of the diet fad from his mother. “It’s supposed to have a lot of health benefits to occasionally fast.”
The apparent “water fast” diet — where participants only drink water, bone broth or electrolytes — typically lasts for one week. Viall, however, said his “goal is four days.”
“I needed a cleanse and I’ve been eating way too much sugar lately these days,” he explained. “I think my diet is not where it could be or should be. It’s the new year, I was like, ‘F— it.’ If my mom can do it, why can’t I?”
Viall further stressed that his fast is only “temporary.”
“Do not take my recommendations,” he stated to podcast listeners. “I’m doing this for me. I don’t need feedback from any of you listening — good or bad.”
According to Healthline, water fasting can boost weight loss and reduce the chance of chronic conditions but is also associated with risks such as dehydration, orthostatic hypotension or worsening preexisting conditions. (It is not recommended to participate for longer than 72 hours.)
For Viall, the early hours of the fast were the most difficult.
“It was a tough first night — and I was fine,” he recalled. “I’m delightful right now. Last night sucked hard. … They said the first 24 hours are tough and I felt really weak and tired.”
Viall’s wife, Natalie Joy, chimed in to concur that he was very “hangry” that evening.
“I’m also suffering because he’s been nothing but a bitch this whole time to me,” she joked. “He’s the hangriest person I’ve ever been around. He’s so mad, he’s so angry and I’m like, ‘You can stop whenever you f—ing want!’ Last night in bed, I was like, ‘Do you want me to boil you some eggs? Because this is insane. You are being mean to me.’ It’s because you’re hungry and I understand.”
Joy added, “I would also be mean because I am mean when I’m hungry, but this is, like, intense hunger. You can’t complain when this was your doing.”
Could Wicked star Ariana Grande take on the role of Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming biopic? If you ask the actress herself, the answer is probably not.
Grande was asked the question while speaking to Access Hollywood at the National Board of Review’s annual gala Tuesday, January 7. “Oh my goodness, why is everyone asking me this? You’re insane!” she answered. “You’re insane, you’re insane, you’re insane. You’re insane. I love you.”
“I’ve always gravitated toward ’50s, ’60s silhouettes, and retro vintage … I can’t even think of a time when that wasn’t my vision board. But it’s been more fun to have more places to really do that,” she added. “My stylist, Mimi [Cuttrell], and I have been leaning all the way in.”
Rumors that Grande could take on the role of Hepburn were indeed sparked in part thanks to Givenchy. After the actress wore a yellow gown from the designer to the Golden Globes this week, the fashion house noted in a release, “The dress is pale-yellow silk with a hand-beaded bodice … from the epic Givenchy Haute Couture/Audrey Hepburn era … one of the most important unions between a designer and muse.”
A planned Hepburn biopic was announced in 2022 with actress Rooney Mara attached to star. Mara has since told Deadline the movie is “not completely dead” but director Luca Guadagnino is no longer attached.
A source exclusively tells Us Weekly that as a result of Beyoncé, 43, stepping onto the football field for a must-see performance on December 25, the NFL cautioned the Cowboy Carter singer and her team that she would be fined $500 for each crystal that fell off her costume during her halftime set.
“They would charge her for each once they found,” the insider explains. “It’s for players’ safety because anything like that on the field could cause injury.”
After the halftime show, the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens took to the field at NRG Stadium in Texas for the second half of the game. The Ravens ended up beating the home team 31 to 2.
While it’s unclear if Beyoncé faced any wardrobe mishaps or fines after her gig, fans certainly loved every moment of her performance.
Viewership for Netflix’s coverage of Wednesday’s Christmas Day football peaked with 27 million viewers for Beyoncé’s set. In fact, more people watched the Grammy winner’s performance than the two football games the streamer aired that day.
After renditions of “16 Carriages” and “Black Bird,” Beyoncé surprised the crowd by singing “RIIVERDANCE” with Shaboozey and “LEVII’S Jeans” with Post Malone.
To top the night off, Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, joined the backing dancers when it was time to sing “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
For the special performance, Beyoncé opted for a studded white, long-sleeve bodysuit with coordinated chaps courtesy of Lindsey James Show Clothing.
Stylist Shiona Turini also picked out an ASN cowboy hat, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin boots for the major moment.
While the performance earned a round of applause from many fans, the former Destiny’s Child member still faced some critics. As a result, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, decided to send a message to the haters.
“It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later,” she wrote via Instagram on December 27. “Go to another channel when it’s halftime watch goofy cartoons or Bozo the clown or something you can relate to and see yourself in.”
After the halftime show — nicknamed Beyoncé Bowl — the artist posted a cinematic clip with a date of January 14, 2025. While the Beyhive has speculated that a tour announcement or new music is coming, Beyoncé is staying quiet — for now.
Us has reached out to the NFL and Beyonce’s teams for comment.
Counting On alum Jedidiah Duggar and his wife, Katey Duggar, are now proud parents of four!
“They’re here!! Introducing Elsie Kate and Emma Kate!” the couple announced in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, January 9. “Elsie was born on January 8, 2025, at 2:06 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and Emma followed at 2:13 p.m., weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounce. Both girls are healthy and beautiful!”
The pair’s post featured several adorable snaps of their twin daughters, as well as a sweet family photo of them with their son, Truett, 2, and daughter Nora, 19 months.
In a Thursday statement to People, Katey and Jed, 26, shared that “both girls are healthy, and beautiful, and have completely captured our hearts.” They added: “We are so grateful to God for entrusting us with these precious girls. Our hearts are full, and we’re thankful for the love and support we’ve received during this joyful time.”
Katey and Jed revealed they were expecting again back in July 2024.
“The twins are due on January 19; that’s when I’ll be 40 weeks,” Katey explained in a December 2024 YouTube vlog. “Now, 50 percent of twins are delivered before 37 weeks. If I can make it past Christmas and the New Year, then, we’ll see. We’re talking to my doctor all the time about options — and whatever’s best for the babies.”
Jed, who is a twin himself, chimed in to say that both he and brother Jeremiah Duggar “would love to have another set of twins” born on their December 30 birthday.
“Oh, for the rest of my life celebrating all those birthdays, that’s a lot,” Katey replied.
Jed and Katey followed his family’s tradition of courtship before getting married in April 2021. Less than one year later, they welcomed Truett. Nora followed in May 2023.
While Jed and Katey’s hearts and hands are now full with four little ones, they haven’t ruled out having more kids down the line. (Jed is one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children.)
“I think we are praying about each one and we’re just loving life,” Jed said in December 2024. “We’re very excited for each one that God’s given us this far. We’re not really sure yet [and] asking God, ‘What’s the timing for everything?’ It’s been really neat and we love each one of our kids and God’s timing.”
Katey, for her part, noted that neither she nor her husband concretely believe that “four is it.”
“We’re very open to having more after this, but considering God at every step that we take in our family,” she said. “We’re both very open with what God has [in mind] for our future and our family.”
The twins bring the Duggar grandchildren count up to 35. Jed’s twin, Jeremiah, and his wife, Hannah Duggar, are also currently expecting. They announced on Christmas Eve 2024 that they are gearing up to welcome a third daughter.
“Life with our little girls has been wonderful and we are so excited about adding a third little girl to this group late next spring!!” Jeremiah, 25, and Hannah, 29, wrote via Instagram, referring to kids Brynley, 2, and Brielle, 10 months.
