UPDATE — 12/5/24 at 11 p.m. ET:

Scheduled presenter Aubrey Plaza did not attend the 2025 Golden Globes.

Plaza was absent following the death of her husband, Jeff Baena. While she was not present at the Sunday awards show, love was sent her way when The Brutalist director Brady Corbet mentioned the couple in his acceptance speech.

Original story:

Aubrey Plaza is scheduled to be a presenter at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5.

Plaza, 40, was announced as one of over 40 presenters for the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday, January 2. The show will air live from Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel.

One day after Plaza was announced as a presenter, her husband Jeff Baena was found dead in their Los Angeles residence on Friday, January 3. Us Weekly later confirmed the indie screenwriter died by suicide. He was 47.

At the time of writing, Plaza is still listed as a presenter for the Golden Globes. Us reached out to Plaza’s reps for comment regarding her attendance but did not hear back.

Celebrities Voice Support for Aubrey Plaza After Husband’s Death

Plaza has not yet publicly addressed her husband’s passing. The pair, who kept their relationship mostly private, began dating in 2011 and were together for nearly a decade before tying the knot in 2020.

“A lot of things happened during COVID for me. Yes, we got married. Big deal,” Plaza said of her and Baena’s nuptials during a December 2021 appearance on the Ellen Degeneres Show. “We got a little bored one night. We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s real, look it up.”

The Agatha All Along alum added, “I created a very quick love altar in our yard. Facts of our love, little stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature. Then the man from Alhambra showed up in a Hawaiian shirt with a briefcase [to perform the ceremony]. … I can’t remember a lot of it, it was fuzzy. But I’m pretty sure it’s legal.”

While Baena and Plaza each had their own solo careers, they had several opportunities to work together on numerous projects such as Life After Beth, The Little Hours and Spin Me Round.

Alison Brie Reacts to Frequent Collaborator Jeff Baena's Death

“My first movie was a big learning experience on all fronts, and so working with her was a benefit because we have a shorthand and a close relationship,” Baena said of his wife in an August 2022 interview with Newsweek.

“As I’ve made more and more stuff, I’ve come to appreciate everything that she brings,” the late filmmaker continued. “She’s insanely talented and so smart and obviously really good at producing. And she’s writing. There are very few people who can wear as many hats as her, as elegantly as she does.”

At the time, Baena further gushed over his wife, saying “everything she does is amazing,” adding, “Generally people point her out in whatever project she’s in as being the best part.”

He concluded, “She’s, like, insanely talented and I’m very lucky to have her in my life.”

Why Travis Kelce Didn’t Take the Field During Chiefs’ Season Finale

Football fans and devoted Swifties alike didn’t watch Super Bowl champ tight end Travis Kelce take the field in the Kansas City Chiefs’ final game of the regular season.

Prior to the Chiefs’ Sunday, January 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the team’s official X account posted a list of inactive players, which included Kelce and a slew of Chiefs starters.

“Our inactives for today’s matchup,” the Chiefs wrote, highlighting Kelce and his fellow teammates, running back Isiah Pacheco, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, cornerback Trent McDuffie, defensive end George Karlaftis, tackle Jawaan Taylor, and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Why did the chiefs decide to sit so many starters for the final game of the regular season? The reason behind the decision is a good one — the 15-1 team has already secured home field advantage and a first round bye in the upcoming NFL playoffs. The Chiefs captured the No. 1 seed in the AFC on Christmas Day 2024, after their 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In other words, it’s not worth risking their starters’ health on a game that, for the Chiefs, won’t change their playoff standing.

With Mahomes not starting, backup quarterback Carson Wentz was under center at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, January 1, head coach Andy Reid said he wasn’t “worried” about sitting his starters.

“I’ve been through that before, so I’m not worried about all that,” Reid explained at the time. “It gives the other guys an opportunity here to grow and you can use everybody.”

Travis Kelce Reveals Why He Sat Out During Chiefs Game Against Chargers

Reid, 66, went on to say that the “primary thing is to make sure that we stay sharp in all areas through this game and for the upcoming weeks.”

“We want to stay sharp mentally and physically and then that’s our responsibility to do that and how we manage the time,” he added. “I make sure I do that practice-wise and the guys go out, players and coaches, and work on that.”

Given that the Chiefs’ final game of the regular season was an away game and Kelce did not play, it wasn’t a huge surprise to Swifties and NFL fans that the tight end’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was not in attendance.

Rest assured, the pop star is likely to attend more than a few of the team’s playoff games, especially since the road to the Super Bowl goes through Kansas City.

‘Drag Race’ Star James Lee Williams, Known as ‘The Vivienne,' Dead at 32

Beloved drag queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race star James Lee Williams, better known as The Vivienne, has died. They were 32.

“It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams — The Vivienne, has passed this weekend,” the performer’s manager, Simon Jones, wrote in a statement shared via Instagram on Sunday, January 5.

A cause of death has not been revealed.

“James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person,” the publicist’s statement continued. “Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career. We will not be releasing any further details. We please ask that James’s family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.”

In a follow-up statement also shared via his Instagram account, Jones shared a more personal reaction to the news of the drag queen’s untimely passing, writing that The Vivienne was more than a client — they were a friend.

“These are words I never ever wanted to write,” Jones said in the second statement. “Viv was a close friend, a client and someone I loved very much. From the moment I met them in 2019 I knew we could create magic together and I became their manager. Their talent was immense and the light they brought to every room was astonishing.”

Jones went on to explain that “no one has ever made me laugh in my life as much as Viv did,” before adding that “their comic genius and quick wit was like no other.”

“I’m so proud and lucky that Viv was such a big part of my life every day for the last 5 years,” the statement continued. “It’s tragic that their career was only just beginning. In music theatre Viv had found a space and career they loved, excelled and thrived in. I am heartbroken and devastated at this news. RIP my wonderful friend. You left us way too soon.”

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Stars: Where Are They Now?

The Vivienne was best known for their time on the hit reality television show RuPaul’s Drag Race UK — the drag queen won the inaugural series in 2019. Drag Race judge Michelle Visage responded to news of The Vivienne’s passing, calling it “heartbreaking.”

“Your laughter, your wit, your talent, your drag. I loved all of it but I loved your friendship most of all,” Visage wrote via Instagram on Sunday. “You were a beacon to so many… I love you my darling. You will be so missed.”

Why Patrick Mahomes Isn't Playing in the Chiefs' Regular Season Finale

Patrick Mahomes was kept out of the Kansas City Chiefs regular season finale against the Denver Broncos.

Mahomes, 29, did not play in the Sunday, January 5, game after the Chiefs secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs after their 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

With the game rendered meaningless from a standings perspective, the Chiefs decided not to risk having their superstar starting quarterback take any snaps.

In his place, veteran backup Carson Wentz started the game at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High.

Patrick Mahomes Says Coach Andy Reid is Too ‘Skinny’ to Dress Up as Santa

“I’ve been through that before, so I’m not too worried about all that,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday, January 1 about sitting Mahomes. “It gives the other guys an opportunity here to grow and you can use everybody.”

Reid, 66, added, “The primary thing is to make sure that we stay sharp in all areas through this game and for the upcoming weeks … We want to stay sharp mentally and physically and then that’s our responsibility to do that and how we manage the time. I make sure I do that practice-wise and the guys go out, players and coaches, and work on that.”

Wentz, 32,  only attempted two passes this season as Mahomes’ backup, but said he was ready to meet the moment.

“I’m going to prepare to go out there and win and then have a good performance with this offense,” Wentz told reporters on Wednesday.

He continued, “I think it would be tremendous just getting reps. Obviously preseason is helpful, but that was even limited and seems like another lifetime ago already. This will definitely be helpful if needed in whatever capacity down the stretch there in the playoffs. But quite frankly, I’m just excited to get out there and play ball.”

The break also provides Mahomes the opportunity to continue healing an ankle injury he sustained in the Chiefs’ December 15 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Mahomes left the game in the fourth quarter after being dragged down from behind by Browns defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson while simultaneously being hit high by Browns defensive tackle Mike Hall

He was later seen being transported on a golf cart inside Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field and was initially questionable for the Chiefs game against the Houston Texans on December 21.

Mahomes would ultimately start that game and throw for 260 yards, scoring both a passing and rushing touchdown in the 27-19 victory.

The Chiefs will open their quest for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl when the NFL Divisional Playoffs begin on January 18.

Jack Schlossberg Trolls Justin Baldoni as His Fake Lawyer — Again

Jack Schlossberg Continues to Troll Justin Baldoni in New Instagram Post

Jack Schlossberg has continued to troll Justin Baldoni on social media amid the actor’s legal battle with It Ends With Us costar Blake Lively.

“Justice for Justin !!! All our communications are privileged by the attorney-client relationship, a protection which only the client may wave,” Schlossberg, 31, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, January 5. “I AM BOUND AND GAGGED by Mr Baldoni until he releases me.”

Alongside his caption was a screenshot of a news article covering the response from Baldoni’s real lawyer with regards to Schlossberg’s online trolling.

Earlier this week, the writer and grandson of former President John F. Kennedy claimed he had taken Baldoni, 40, on as a client.

Justin Baldoni's Lawyer Releases New Statement About Blake Lively Lawsuit

“I agreed to take on JUSTIN BALDONI as a client. Why? FAIRNESS,” he wrote via X on Thursday, January 2. “EVERYONE is entitled to a FAIR TRIAL and ZEALOUS DEFENSE. Justin has NOTHING to hide, Justice will be his revenge. After BOSTON MASSACRE, John Adams represented the British at trial. Same s—, different day.”

Schlossberg, who graduated from Harvard Law School and passed the bar exam in 2023, added, “My personal feelings about Justin Baldoni are irrelevant. Justin is my client, I’m his lawyer. even the most heinous individuals have the right to counsel for their defense. I am not a hero. I’m just doing my job.”

While Schlossberg was — and continues to be — joking, both fans and certain members of the media believed his initial claims, with some outlets even publishing stories claiming the Vogue political correspondent was Baldoni’s actual lawyer.

Baldoni’s real lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told the Daily Mail Schlossberg’s stunt was “ridiculous,” clarifying, “Nobody on my team has spoken to him.”

Breaking Down Blake Lively’s Accusations Against Justin Baldoni

Currently, Baldoni is suing The New York Times for $250 million, accusing the publication of libel and false light invasion of privacy for its coverage of Lively, 37, and her allegations of sexual harassment against the director.

Freedman shared in an interview with NBC News on Thursday that he also has plans to sue Lively on Baldoni’s behalf. “We plan to release every single text message between the two of them,” Freedman said at the time. “We want the truth to be out there. We want the documents to be out there. We want people to make their determination based on receipts.”

Baldoni filed his lawsuit against the Times on December 31, 2024. That same day, Lively filed a lawsuit of her own against Baldoni, his publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, and Baldoni’s Wayfarer production company, for sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and lost wages.

“I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted,” Lively said in a statement to Us Weekly on December 21, after she filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department regarding similar allegations.

Former NFL Player Thinks Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Will Marry in 2025

Diehard Sifties and Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t the only ones actively hoping they see tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift walk down the aisle in 2025.

“I’m thinking this year they are going to get married, or after football,” former NFL corner and Pro-Bowler Adam “Pacman” Jones told The Mirror in an interview published on Friday, January 3. “Of course, they are going to be together.”

Jones also addressed the online conspiracy theory claiming Kelce and Swift are not in a “real relationship,” telling the outlet that he absolutely believes their romance is genuine.

“I think they are in a real relationship,” he said. “I know Trav, because he went to UC. His love [is genuine]. When he says he is with somebody, he is with somebody.”

Sorry Troy Aikman, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Aren't Engaged

He went on to add that he’s a “true believer” when it comes to the pair’s relationship, saying that “with the other young lady he was with, he was with her and he found something better and he moved on.”

“But I believe Travis a hundred percent,” Jones reiterated.

Kelce and Swift were first romantically linked in September 2023, after Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game in person. The pop star later discussed her relationship with the Super Bowl champion in an interview with TIME as the outlet’s Person of the Year.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift said at the time. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Friends Are Hoping for an Engagement

Jones said in the same interview that he’s a big fan of what Kelce’s relationship with Swift has done for the NFL regarding women tuning in to watch more football games. He’s also pleased to see what Kelce’s elevated status as “Mr. Swift” has done for the tight end’s career off the football field.

“I love it,” he explained. “I wish I was that smart when I was young. What I’m saying is you see how many marketing deals he is getting. You see how many jerseys he’s selling. You see how many people [are] coming up to games — the Swifties. You see what his Instagram did since he [has] been with her. All of that s— plays a part.”

Bad Bunny Says Breakup Song Could Be About Anyone, Including Kendall Jenner

Bad Bunny admitted that the songs on his latest album are not necessarily about specific people he has dated — but they could be.

“I have written songs inspired by people that people don’t have a f—ing clue who they are,” Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), 30, said in an interview with Time published on Sunday, January 5. “The meaning of the song can vary in many things, like the absence of a person who is no longer with you, or a love. But it can be many other things too, that are no longer there.”

In particular, the album’s titular song “DtMF” deals with feelings of regret over a relationship, while also trying to make peace with its ending. (The title of Bad Bunny’s latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, translates to I Should Have Taken More Photos.) Many fans of the Puerto Rican singer have assumed the break up song is about his recent ex, model and reality television star Kendall Jenner.

Bad Bunny and Jenner, 28, were first romantically linked in February 2023 when they were spotted on a date in Beverly Hills. The pair later attended the Met Gala in May that same year. Until their split in December 2023 after less than a year of dating, the pair largely kept their romance out of the public eye.

Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny’s Relationship Timeline

“I know something is going to come out,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. “I know [people are] going to say something. People know everything about me, so what’s left for me to protect? My private life, my personal life.”

While the couple later wound up cozying up for a June 2024 date night in Paris, a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly in September that Jenner “decided she wanted space” and the pair were no longer an item.

“They’re still friendly but have taken a step back and aren’t dating,” the source exclusively told Us at the time.

A separate source previously told Us that Jenner was not interested in another serious relationship, saying, “She wants to stay single for now. Kendall isn’t ready to be tied down at the moment and is enjoying this era.”

While his latest album explores aspects of romantic love, Bad Bunny told Time that Debí Tirar is also a tribute to his home island of Puerto Rico.

“At times you are perhaps a little nostalgic, a little sentimental… But at the same time, you are enjoying other things: playing dominoes with grandparents or with the family,” he said. “Since we are also in Puerto Rico, we are at home, we are with the group: That is a reason to be happy, to be content.”

Bradley Cooper Through the Years: From Guest Star to Leading Man

Bradley Cooper started off as a struggling actor from humble beginnings, but he quickly transformed into one of Hollywood’s hottest household names.

Before racking up awards, Cooper worked his way up from guest-starring roles on some of the most well-known television series of the early 2000s. In 2001, Cooper found a steadier position on ABC’s cult classic Alias.

It was around this same time that Cooper started to realize he was abusing alcohol and other substances to cope with life as a struggling actor. Cooper made a promise to himself in 2004 to stay sober after a night of heavy partying landed him in the hospital.

From that moment on, Cooper was primed for success and earned his first Oscar nomination in 2013. Cooper doesn’t let his busy career distract him from his daughter, Lea, whom he shares with ex Irina Shayk.

“They share a balanced schedule with their daughter, which also varies based on their work obligations,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of the former couple in February 2021. “There have been no arguments about Lea’s schedule. Bradley usually is busier and has back-to-back films lined up, but he makes sure he spends a lot of time with Lea.”

Cooper’s first big break was a small guest role on Sex and the City as Jake, a drunk guy who tried to make out with Carrie Bradshaw in a car. He joined Andy Cohen, Justin Theroux, Elizabeth Banks and more celebs who made small, surprising turns on the HBO show.

After a few more minor projects, Cooper landed a recurring stint alongside Jennifer Garner on ABC’s Alias. He played local reporter Will Tippin until 2006, but his role was seriously downgraded after season two. In 2013, Cooper revealed to GQ that he eventually asked the show’s creator, J.J. Abrams, to write him out of the series entirely.

Following his devastating demotion on Alias, Cooper began to feel depressed and considered quitting the business altogether. By 2004, he vowed to stay sober. “I realized I wasn't going to live up to my potential, and that scared the hell out of me,” he later told the Hollywood Reporter.

Cooper and Related actress Jennifer Esposito had a whirlwind — but short-lived — love story. The actors got engaged in October 2006, just a few months after they were spotted together on every red carpet during awards season. They tied the knot in the south of France by the end of that year, then finalized their divorce in November 2007.

Struggling actor no more! Cooper’s breakthrough finally came with one of the highest grossing R-rated films of all time, The Hangover. The Todd Phillips directed comedy was a critical and commercial success, making Cooper a household name.

Cooper later tried his hand at more dramatic roles, including 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook. The film centered around a man with bipolar disorder who befriends a young widow (Jennifer Lawrence) and earned Cooper his first Academy Award nomination.

The Limitless star had a series of famous flings before being linked to model Suki Waterhouse in March 2013. Two years later, the pair reportedly called it quits due to their nearly 20-year age difference. Cooper, then 40, wanted to settle down while Waterhouse, 23 at the time, wanted to focus on her career before starting a family.

Cooper starred in his second David O. Russell project, American Hustle, in 2013 alongside Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Christian Bale. The superstar cast earned the Screen Actors’ Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the first SAG win of Cooper’s career.

One month after calling off his two-year relationship with Suki Waterhouse, the American Sniper star was rumored to be dating supermodel Irina Shayk. The pair took their relationship public in the spring of 2015 when they were seen locking lips while out and about in London.

In 2015, Cooper was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the year. Actor Oliver Platt penned a loving tribute to his “dazzling” friend, saying, “It’s hard to make people, especially your friends, forget who you are onscreen. But Bradley’s that good. And I think we’ve seen only a hint of what’s to come.”

Baby makes three! Cooper and Shayk welcomed their first child together, Lea de Seine, in March 2017. After four years together, Cooper and Shayk pulled the plug on their relationship in June 2019. A source told Us Weekly at the time that the duo had hit a rough patch amid intense romance rumors with Cooper’s A Star Is Born costar. “Even though there was nothing romantic between Bradley and Gaga, the noise was difficult for Irina to deal with,” the insider said.

Romance rumors swirled after the actor and his former Alias costar Garner were spotted on a beach in Malibu in August 2020 with his daughter, Lea. However, a source later told Us that the pair are just “friends and have been forever.”

Though Cooper and Shayk ended their relationship, they remain committed coparents to their daughter, Lea.
“He’s a full-on, hands-on dad,” the model gushed to Highsnobiety, before praising their little one’s manners. “No nanny. Lea went on holiday with him for almost two weeks — I didn’t call them once. … When she finishes eating, she gets up from the table, takes her plate, says, ‘Thank you.’ Without ‘please’ or ‘thank you,’ she’s not getting anything. It’s hard, because she has so many toys.”

Following their breakup, Cooper invited the Russia native to the premiere of his Nightmare Alley film. “It’s very special,” he told Entertainment Tonight about having Shayk’s support during the event.

Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple, are proving they are just like Us.

“Yup we are a real couple … This [is] how we like our temperatures,” Chapple, 60, wrote via his Instagram Story on Saturday, January 4.

Alongside the text, Chapple uploaded an image of the temperatures inside a car. On one side, the temperature was set to 63 degrees, while the other side — which Chapple notated was Vassos’ — the temp was a balmy 84 degrees.

Vassos, 61, replied to Chapple’s snap by reposting the image to her own Instagram Stories on Saturday and writing, “Maybe I should steal some of his socks to keep my feet warm in the car…” (Earlier that day, Vassos uploaded an image of numerous pairs of socks joking that Chapple had 364 matches.)

While the pair navigates each other’s living habits, Vassos and Chapple exclusively told Us Weekly that they are splitting their time in their respective hometowns of Maryland and Kansas — and are also going apartment hunting in New York City.

“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us in November 2024. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”

Golden Bachelorette Joan and Chock on Plans for 'Long-ish' Engagement, Wedding

Vassos, who got engaged to Chapple during the finale of The Golden Bachelorette season 1, told Us that she “never in a million years” thought she would feel “love like this again.” (She was previously married to John Vassos, who died in 2019 from cancer.)

“Living life in your golden years is special. You’re not responsible for raising a family anymore or for a business. You get to really enjoy life. Travel is important to us. One day buying a home together,” she shared in an Us cover story. “After John passed away, I
felt like my future was this black hole. And now it just looks so bright. The possibilities are endless for us. Which is a weird thing to say at this age, but I do feel that way.”

Bradley Cooper's Dating History: Irina Shayk, Jennifer Esposito, More

Bradley Cooper has been romantically linked with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars over the years, from Cameron Diaz to Renée Zellweger to Olivia Wilde.

The Oscar nominee has only walked down the aisle once, getting engaged to actress Jennifer Esposito in October 2006. The pair tied the knot that December, but their union ended up being short-lived as Esposito filed for divorce in May 2007. She and Cooper were legally single by the end of that year.

In addition to notable relationships with Zoe Saldana and Suki Waterhouse, Cooper famously dated model Irina Shayk from 2015 to 2019. The pair welcomed a daughter together, Lea De Seine, in 2017 and have become friendly coparents.

“They’ll coordinate to make sure their daughter is always with one parent,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly after the split. “When Lea has important events in her life, both Bradley and Irina will be there.”

Not only does NCIS actress Esposito rank as the first high-profile partner for Cooper, but she even got him to put a ring on it. The couple got married in December 2006 … and then split in May 2007.
“It was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realized it,” Cooper said of the split on The Howard Stern Show in March 2011. “Sometimes you just realize it. … It just wasn’t right.”

Call it a fling, but any time spent with Diaz is worth noting! Cooper and the comedy star hung out together in the fall of 2007, enjoying outings that included double-dating at football games with a then-married Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

The Academy Award winner occupies quite a bit of space on the Cooper love timeline, as they reportedly lived together for a year before their long-delayed film Case 39 finally hit theaters in 2010. Dinner dates, vacations and even family visits were caught on camera, but neither Cooper nor Zellweger would officially acknowledge their romance. Sadly, the end of the road came in March 2011.

Before Jennifer Lopez, another raven-haired beauty caught Cooper’s attention: a newly divorced Wilde. She turned up at the New York premiere of Cooper’s movie The Hangover II in June 2011, though she was simultaneously thought to be eyeing Justin Timberlake.

Peaking in October 2011, word had it that Cooper was sweet on Lopez following news of her divorce from crooner Marc Anthony. Dates included trips to high-end Manhattan restaurants and Miami fashion shows. Cooper and his The Words costar dated off and on from 2011 to 2013. They officially called it quits after two years, citing “conflicting schedules” for their split.
“Bradley is a very dedicated and open professional,” Saldana raved to The Hollywood Reporter in September 2012 ahead of their final breakup. “It’s really good when you can balance that with an actor as opposed to an actor that just comes prepared and just goes, ‘Don’t f—k up my light’ and ‘This line is my close-up.’ We didn’t care where was the camera was. It was just like we were both part of this extensive conversation.”
Cooper and Saldana’s split marked the end of their personal relationship but not their professional one as they went on to star in Guardians of the Galaxy franchise as Rocket Raccoon and Gamora, respectively.

Cooper and Shayk sparked romance rumors when they took in a Broadway show together in March 2015. He and the Russian model welcomed daughter Lea the following March. Us confirmed in June 2019 that the couple parted ways after four years together.
The two have remained on good terms, with Shayk calling Cooper “the best father Lea and I could dream of” in a November 2023 interview with Elle. “It always works, but it always works because we make it work,” she added.

In July 2022, Us confirmed that Cooper was briefly linked with the Glee alum in the past. "He was casually dating Dianna when he and Huma [Abedin] started, but it wasn’t serious with Dianna yet," a source exclusively revealed at the time.

After being introduced by Anna Wintour, Cooper and Abedin started dating ahead of the 2022 Met Gala. "Bradley and Huma have been dating for a few months now," an insider shared with Us in July, noting that the pair have "a lot in common" with each other. "Their friends are very excited to see where this relationship goes."

Cooper and Hadid sparked romance rumors in October 2023 after they were photographed hanging out several times in NYC and riding in the same car. “They have a lot in common,” a source exclusively told Us that same month. “They’re both single parents to a young daughter, and they share a similar sense of humor.” (Hadid shares her daughter, Kai, with ex Zayn Malik.)
In addition to several more hangouts, Hadid showed her support for the actor by grabbing a bite at his NYC cheesesteak food truck in December 2023. Not long after, Cooper bought a Pennsylvania home near Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid’s farm. A source told Us at the time that the purchase was a “coincidence” and “has nothing to do with Gigi or her family,” but confirmed they were going strong.
Hadid made a rare comment about Cooper when asked if he would watch her walk the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “He’s watching from home tonight. He is on dad duty,” Hadid told Entertainment Tonight in October 2024 before the event.

Brooke Shields and Daughter Rowan Get Matching Party-Inspired Tattoos

Brooke Shields is not a regular mom, she’s a “cool mom” — at least according to her daughter’s latest Instagram post.

The actress’ daughter Rowan, 21, shared a photo of the pair’s matching tattoos via her Instagram Story on Saturday, January 4, writing, “Mother/daughter bonding.”

The tattoos, which appear to be inked on the women’s left forearms, read: “and to the party.” The post tagged East Side Ink and tattoo artist Matt Gutierrez.

Shields, 59, shared the photo to her Story as well with the caption, “Another matching tattoo with my bug 🐞 .”

To celebrate Rowan’s high school graduation in 2021, the duo got matching ladybug tattoos. Shields got hers on the inside of her left wrist, while Rowan chose to display her new ink on the back of her left ankle.

“A special graduation gift and memory with my girl 🐞 I’m so proud of you, I love you more than words can say,” Shields captioned the Instagram photos at the time.

Earlier this year, Shields also shared the inspiration behind another set of matching tattoos — this time with her youngest daughter, Grier, 18. (She shares both Rowan and Grier with husband Chris Henchy.)

The tattoo, which is placed on Grier’s wrist and Shields’ forearm, shows two sets of feet (one small, one big) wearing the same pair of heels. It’s meant to represent Grier stepping into her mom’s shoes. (Grier, an aspiring model, walked in her first runway show at New York Fashion Week during the Tommy Hilfiger presentation in September.)

“When she was little, she would always just wear my shoes, no matter how teeny she was,” Shields told the “Stupid Things For Love” podcast in May. “She would go into my closet and come out and have breakfast in her diaper and high heels, and then the night gown and high heels.”

Shields got vulnerable on Instagram last summer after dropping her girls off at college and officially becoming “an empty nester.” Rowan is a senior at Wake Forest University, while Grier just started her freshman year at the North Carolina school.

“They’re together at least,” an emotional Shields said as she wiped tears from her eyes in a video posted via Instagram in August. “It’s not easy. It’s not easy for the moms. I mean it’s just so weird. It’s so weird that (Grier’s) not here.”

Shields said they both cried saying goodbye before letting out a big sigh. “Both of my baby birds have left the nest 🪺😫🪹,” she captioned the video.

“Oh Brooke it’s so so hard,” Debra Messing commented on the post. “It’s the end of an era and now you get to start a new chapter. But first you have to cry. A lot. I laid on my couch for 3 weeks and couldn’t speak to anyone. Be tender with yourself. It’s hard because it’s hard. All us empty nesters are sending you love.❤.”

“True words!” Melissa Joan Hart also commented. “It’s so hard on the moms when our babies fly off but if we did our job, that’s the goal! ❤❤.”

Brooke Shields Gets Matching Tattoos With Both of Her Daughters

Shields had a busy 2024, starring in Netflix’s Mother of the Bride, being elected the president of the Actors’ Equity Association — a labor union representing stage performers and managers — and launching her hair brand Commence for women over 40.

“If I’m not mom 24/7, who am I?” she told the New York Times in June. “I really identify with so much more than people have given me credit for. Might I remind you, I’m still a female and still human.”

Colman Domingo, Cynthia Erivo, More Can't Get Enough of 'Real Housewives'

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are self-proclaimed Real Housewives superfans — and they’re not alone.

In July 2021, Minaj revealed via social media that she would love to host the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, which host Andy Cohen supported. “I want to see this!” he wrote in the comments section of Minaj’s post. Several cast members including Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon and Wendy Osefo showed their love for the idea as well.

Rihanna, meanwhile, showed her support for the Real Housewives of New York City’s Leah McSweeney in July 2021 while wearing one of her Married to the Mob streetwear items.

“You’re not exactly my demographic, so it’s all good. I already have Rihanna wearing my sh—t, I don’t need you wearing my sh—t,” McSweeney said on the show when costar Ramona Singer took a dig at her clothing line.

Rihanna then took to Instagram to share a selfie of her wearing a “Bitch Mob” t-shirt. “What was said @ramonasinger?😂#RHONY,” she wrote alongside a clip of the scene.

“I like The Real Housewives of Atlanta; they’re always fighting. I recently started watching The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Everybody there is being fabulous,” Domingo told W in January 2025. “To a level, they’re acting. Usually the husbands because they’re terrible actors. When you hear a conversation like, ‘How was your day?’ you’re like, no one in any relationship talks like that. And also they’re in full makeup, lashes, and wig at the gym. And it’s completely lit. They’re like, ‘Wait — who’s at the door?’ Let’s see, you have a camera crew inside and one outside. I think you kind of know. I do like it when they fight. I think that’s the appeal: It’s, you know what? I guess I’m pretty OK if I don’t have this kind of drama with anybody.”

The Wicked star proclaimed her fandom in a January 2025 profile for W magazine.
“[My favorite is] The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I also love Potomac. It's fantastic,” she said. “They're very honest, which I like. Also, there’s no fighting or fisticuffs, but they will read each other crazily. Atlanta definitely gets a little rowdy, though.”

The Mad Men alum revealed that he was a big fan of the Bravo universe during a June 2023 appearance on the Today show. In addition to being a big [The Real Housewives of New] Jersey man,” the actor added that he is also "a Vanderpumper,” and “a Beverly Hills-ian.”
Ham noted that while he's enjoyed RHONY over the years, the new cast gave him pause. “We'll see what this whole new New York is all about,” he quipped.

"Asking what city of the Housewives is simply the best, that's like asking what your favorite child is. They're all beautiful in different ways," the actor gushed to Bustle in February 2023. "Potomac is stunning. Beverly Hills is an OG. New Jersey is unhinged. New York is classy — kind of. Atlanta is just funny, iconic, but Salt Lake City is just so dark. They're all different, but we love them all."

In July 2022, the couple opened up about their love for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
"I have been a fan from the very beginning. I started watching it from the first season," the Yellowjackets star told E! News, noting that she later got her husband hooked as well.
Ritter, for his part, added, "I'm definitely not like one of those like, 'My wife watches it…' I'm like, 'It's the night! We gotta see it.' I'm really into it. I like seeing a group of friends that's like an amorphous sort of blob of hurt feelings and coming back together and forgiveness, and all that stuff."

The “I Can’t Love You Anymore” singer has been a fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for years, meeting Kyle Richards in 2021. “I’ve been a fan of hers probably longer than she's been of mine, but I met her at the Aspen Jazz Festival last year,” she recalled on the radio in April 2022. “She reached out via Instagram and asked if she and her family could come backstage after the show, and I was so excited to meet her and we talked for like an hour and she was so lovely, but, yeah, huge, huge Kyle Richards fan so I just love that this job takes you into the weirdest places and you meet the most fun people.”That same month, Kyle and costars Dorit Kemsley and Sutton Stracke posed for snaps with Morris at Stagecoach.

"It’s life ... it’s right now. It’s happening right now. And what do I do? I go in and watch The Housewives of Beverly Hills. I do that,” the Golden Globe winner shared while promoting Don't Look Up with her costars in January 2022, noting that the reality series serves as the perfect distraction. "It’s so energizing in a weird way, this film, because you come out and you go, 'OK now, f--k it. This is what we have to pay attention to. It all flows from this. If we don’t survive, we won’t be able to watch Housewives or whatever.'"

Solange told her sister Beyoncé that she watches Real Housewives of Atlanta "religiously" and ends up "in stitches the whole time."
"I was just having a conversation with someone about The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and I was saying how I love that show and think it's so brilliant because it's the woman that was represented in my childhood in Houston. It makes me feel so at home," Solange explained to her sister in Interview Magazine in January 2017.

“So I love the Real Housewives,” Kunis told Lisa Rinna when they both appeared on Live With Kelly and Ryan in August 2018. “It didn’t matter to me if it was Atlanta, Orange County, Jersey, Potomac. I was, like, obsessed with it. And then Beverly Hills hit, and I was like, ‘That’s my hood.’”
The Black Swan actress admitted that she made sure to stay on top of every episode so she wouldn't fall behind on the drama.
Like, here’s the thing. I have seen every episode, every reunion episode, all the unseen footage. I love it, needless to say. This is very exciting for me, I gotta tell you. It’s such a treat," she added at the time.

"I really love television, and I love my DVR — we have a very special relationship. I suppose my obsession is anything on the Bravo network. Kyle Richards previously shared a story about how one of her daughters met the performer.
"One of my favorite stories is my daughter was at a karaoke place and someone came in and there's like a commotion, like a big entourage. She turned around and was talking to her friends and then she felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned around and it was Rihanna," Richards told The Los Angeles Times in June 2018. "And Rihanna goes, 'Oh my God, I'm obsessed with you.' And my daughter started to cry and she goes, 'I'm so confused, what's happening?'"

The American Horror Story actress mentioned that she found herself enjoying every franchise of the Bravo hit shows.
"I think the star of the Real Housewives is the franchise itself," Paulson shared during an interview with Vanity Fair in October 2019.
The actress also opened up about an awkward encounter she had with a Beverly Hills housewife.
"You know, I don't want her coming after me on Twitter. But I won't miss [Lisa Vanderpump]. I'll miss the dynamic she brings to the group, which is, you know the fear of God she instills in everyone, but no, I won't miss her," she noted at the time. "I met her once at a party, she wasn't that nice to me."

"And then I also love Nene [Leakes], 'cause she's just really real. And Kandi [Burruss] 'cause the girl's written a lot of great hit songs."

Camila Cabello Packs on the PDA With Billionaire Heir Henry Junior Chalhoub

Camila Cabello is seemingly ringing in the new year with a brand-new love interest.

Cabello, 27, was spotted packing on the PDA with Henry Junior Chalhoub during a beach getaway in St. Bart’s. The pair were seen holding hands while splashing around a body of water before eventually sharing a passionate smooch.

Cabello and Chalhoub, 28, have been romantically linked since November 2024 after reports surfaced speculating that they met at an Elie Saab afterparty in Saudi Arabia. Neither the singer nor Chalhoub have publicly addressed or confirmed their rumored romance.

Chalhoub is the billionaire heir to his family’s eponymous Chalhoub Group based out of Dubai. The firm is described as “a partner and creator of luxury experiences in the Middle East with a portfolio of 8 owned brands and over 300 international brands” on its website.

Where Camila Cabello and Ex Shawn Mendes Stand After 'Friendly' Reunion

Prior to his apparent romance with Cabello, Chalhoub briefly dated supermodel Joan Smalls in 2021. Cabello, for her part, last famously dated fellow singer Shawn Mendes in 2023.

Cabello and Mendes, 26, initially were together from 2019 to 2021. After their split, she briefly dated Lox Club founder Austin Kevitch, but things fizzled by February 2023. Two months later, Cabello was seen packing on the PDA with Mendes at Coachella.

Cabello and Mendes’ reunion was short-lived, however, with a source confirming to Us Weekly in June 2023 that they called it quits again.

“Camila was the one who ultimately decided to end things,” the insider told Us. “A lot of their old problems started coming back after spending so much time together.”

Cabello and Mendes have since remained on amicable terms.

“I just think that we really know each other,” he said during a November 2024 interview with Apple Music 1. “We haven’t been the closest over the last couple of years, but I think we really know each other. We’ve spent a lot of time together. We really know each other’s hearts. So even when all of the sound and all the noise is happening, we can see through each other’s both pretty easily, and it’s just nice to have that.”

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's Relationship Timeline: The Way They Were

Cabello has also been open about moving on from her ex-boyfriend.

“I was in a really public relationship and as a woman you’re like, ‘I don’t want this couple thing to be my new identity,’” she told Complex in a June 2024 profile, going on to reflect on their “Havana” and “Señorita” duets.

Cabello continued, “I think there’s always a worry when a song becomes so massive that it’s going to be bigger than you. I obviously love that they were so massive and successful. But it does get people attached to you in a certain light.”

Jenna Fischer is celebrating a milestone moment after sharing she was diagnosed with cancer.

“Happy New Year! What a year 2024 was. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my breast cancer surgery,” Fischer, 50, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, January 4. “I spent the day in St. Louis surrounded by family doing a belated Christmas with grandparents and cousins after luxuriating at my FAVORITE hotel of all time the @fsstlouis.”

She continued, “ I mean…cozy robe, coffee, book, and that view! (I’ve been angling to be their official ambassador for years. And I won’t give up until it happens 😂).”

Fischer continued her message by providing fans with an update on her health. “I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are going into this New Year refreshed and energized,” she wrote. “I have two more Herceptin infusions and then I will get my port out!! Woot! Hair is growing back (slowly and wildly, but it’s growing).”

‘The Office’ Star Jenna Fischer Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Fischer noted that she’s been working on her physical health after receiving treatment. “And I’m working out with @bodyfitbyamy to keep my body strong for the long haul,” she concluded. “Sending you love and blessings for the New Year!”

Alongside the caption, Fischer uploaded an image of her lounging in a robe in her hotel room with a book on her lap and while bringing a mug to her lips. In the background of the snap, St. Louis’s Gateway Arch was visible in the distance.

The Office alum revealed her diagnosis in October 2024. “October is breast cancer awareness month. I never thought I’d be making an announcement like this but here we are,” she wrote via Instagram. “Last December, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer.”

She continued, “After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free.”

Hoda Kotb Gets Emotional Hearing Jenna Fischer's Breast Cancer Story

Fischer shared that she began “12 rounds” of chemo in February and started three weeks of radiation four months later. During her treatment, Fischer lost her hair, instead wearing wigs and hats with extensions. Fischer ultimately decided to share her diagnosis with the public because she said she was ready to “ditch the wigs” and remind others to get their annual mammograms.

“If I had waited six months longer, things could have been much worse. It could have spread,” she wrote. “Seeing women post photos of their mammogram appointments on Instagram needled me into setting my own (which I was late for). I’m so glad I did. Consider this your kick in the butt to get it done.”

Joe Alwyn Wants 'Other People' to Move On From His Taylor Swift Romance

Joe Alwyn insists he has long moved on from ex Taylor Swift — now he just wants the rest of the world to do the same.

“That’s something for other people to do,” Alwyn, 33, said of his previous relationship with the pop star in an interview with The Guardian published on Sunday, January 5. “We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”

The actor shared that in his relationship with the 35-year-old singer he often “tried to focus on controlling what I can control” in regards to her level of fame surpassing his own.

“Right from the beginning, I tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course,” he continued. “So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it. If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behaviour, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty f—ed.”

How Joe Alwyn Reportedly Reacted to Taylor Swift's 'TTPD'

He added: “I have great family and friends and real things in my life; those are the things that kept me tethered to the ground. So I don’t know how else to say it, it’s… just in a different room.”

The Brutalist star has two writing credits on Swift’s album Folklore, and three on her album Evermore — which was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns — under the pseudonym William Bowery.

“Lockdown was a whole host of surprises and that was pretty special,” Alwyn told the Guardian. “That was not something I would have foreseen.”

Alwyn and Swift dated for six years before Us Weekly confirmed their split in April 2023. It’s understood by Swifties and casual Swift listeners alike that their breakup was a major inspiration behind the singer/songwriter’s 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department.

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's Quotes About Relationship Before Split

“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” Alwyn said of the public scrutiny surrounding their breakup in a June 2024 interview with The Sunday Times. “That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”

At the time, Alwyn added, “You have something very real suddenly thrown into a very unreal space: tabloids, social media, press, where it is then dissected, speculated on, pulled out of shape beyond recognition. And the truth is, to that last point, there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that.”

He continued, “As everyone knows, we together — both of us, mutually — decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private. It was never something to commodify and I see no reason to change that now.”

Since their breakup, Swift has moved on with boyfriend Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, whom she has been romantically linked to since July 2023.

Robert De Niro, 81, Watches Ms. Rachel Videos With Daughter Gia, 19 Months

Hey parents, Robert De Niro is just like Us.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, De Niro, 81, admitted that he wakes up each morning to his baby daughter Gia and the soothing sounds of Rachel Accurso, better known as Ms. Rachel — the YouTuber-turned-millionaire whose videos focus on childhood development and language skills.

“I’m an early riser,” he told the outlet. “I’ve got a 19-month-old baby. I spend my mornings watching Ms Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.”

As for whether or not the Hollywood icon changes Gia’s diapers, the proud father of seven insisted, “No, no, but I used to.”

Gia is De Niro’s seventh child and first with partner Tiffany Chen, whom he met on the 2015 set of The Intern. The two-time Oscar winner also shares adult children Drena, 57, and Raphael, 49, with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott; twins Julian and Aaron, 29, with ex Toukie Smith; and son Elliot, 26, and daughter Helen, 13, with his second wife, Grace Hightower. De Niro and Hightower, 69, split in 2018.

De Niro is also a grandfather as Raphael has three young children. Drena’s only child, Leandro, died last July at age 19.

In terms of fatherhood, De Niro said he doesn’t know his children would describe him. “Oh God, they would all have a different answer. Family is so complex,” he admitted. “I try my best, that’s all. I hope they’ll be happy.”

There’s no denying he puts in the effort, as De Niro recently took a trip with his son Elliot to see the gorillas in Rwanda. “That was worth doing,” he told The Times. “I like a safari too, and I’m interested in going to Madagascar.”

Disneyland, however, is off his bucket list. “I struggle with that — the rides,” he insisted.

De Niro recently called Gia a “pure joy” after celebrating her first birthday in March, telling Entertainment Tonight, “She had a little cake, it was very nice, sweet.”

“Well, she’s pure joy,” he continued, “there’s nothing about her, there’s no judgement, there’s no anything, she just is what she is and it’s just pure joy for god sakes.”

He added in an interview with People last year, “She’s such an adorable baby. So sweet. [When I] look at her, everything else goes away. So it’s a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment.”

De Niro is currently working on his next business venture: opening the Nobu Beach Inn on the tiny Caribbean island of Barbuda. He now co-owns 57 restaurants and 42 hotels around the globe — an empire built up over 35 years since he opened his first restaurant, the Tribeca Grill, in New York in 1990.

Robert De Niro Gushes About 'Adorable' Baby Girl Gia, Fatherhood at 80

The actor is also set to star in 2025’s Alto Knights after appearing in 2024’s Joker follow-up Folie à Deux.

“I tell any actor, I tell my own kids this: if you’re reading for something, assume you’re not gonna get the part. And that’ll free you, if anything. That’ll free you to make a bolder choice, maybe,” De Niro told Stephen Colbert of his advice for auditioning actors.

He has starred in countless films and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

When asked if he plans to retire in the aforementioned People interview, De Niro said, simply, “Not at the moment.”

“No words can touch this painful time,” actress Selma Blair wrote on Plaza’s most recent Instagram post on Saturday, January 4. “Only love and strength and support from everyone. I am so sorry.”

Actress Julia Fox also shared her condolences in the comments section, writing, “Sending you so much love” and sharing a dove emoji.

Meanwhile, Alison Brie, who worked with Baena and Plaza on various projects, posted a series of photos on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 5, featuring the late filmmaker. She posted a broken heart emoji on the first photograph, featuring the pair posing for the camera.

The indie screenwriter and film director was found dead on Friday, January 3, according to medical examiner records reviewed by Us Weekly. The cause of death was listed as suicide, according to the same records, and a medical examination was conducted. No other special circumstances or causes of death were listed. Deadline and TMZ were the first to report the news of Baena’s passing.

Plaza, 40, first met Baena in 2011. Though the pair kept their relationship relatively private, the Parks and Recreation actress confirmed they tied the knot in 2020 during COVID-19 lockdown.

Aubrey Plaza and Late Husband Jeff Baena’s Relationship Timeline

“We got a little bored one night,” Plaza recalled on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in December 2021. “We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s real, look it up.”

Best known for co-writing the 2004 film I Heart Huckabees, which was nominated for a 2004 Gotham Award for Best Feature, Baena also worked with Plaza on Life After Beth, the 2014 horror/comedy that served as his directorial debut.

“She’s awesome. I’d be working with her if she wasn’t my wife, but luckily she is my wife,” Baena told Reel Talker in August 2022. “The opportunity to do something creative [together] where we’re both fulfilled — how rare is that?”

While Plaza has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s passing, other Hollywood A-listers and celebrities are speaking out in support of the actress during such a terrible time and in the wake of such a profound loss. Here are just a few who have given their public condolences and reflected on the life and legacy of Baena.

Adam Pally

The comedian and actor shared a touching tribute to Baena via an Instagram post shared on Sunday, January 5. In addition to sharing photos of the late filmmaker, Pally wrote a heartfelt message offering his condolences to his friend, Plaza.

“Jeff Baena was a sweet Jewish boy from Miami. He was a collaborator, a mentor, the scrappiest basketball player with the ugliest jump shot you ever saw. He was a talented director with impeccable taste and vision, he was a connector of people, a fosterer of possibility, the guy who knows where the best restaurant was no matter where you were,” Pally wrote in a screenshot shared via the same Instagram post.

“An overly gracious host with an almost disturbing open door policy, a film encyclopedia, and most important to me a friend,” he continued in the statement. “As a director Jeff strove for the truth. Nothing could sound, look or feel inauthentic, and that is a direct representation of who Jeff was. Authentic. You never worried that Jeff wasn’t telling you the way it is. Cause Jeff’s virtue was telling you the way it was. My heart breaks for my friend Aubrey and the Baena family and for all of us who spent time on his sets or at his house or in his orbit. Thanks for believing in me, Jeff, may your memory be a blessing.”

Selma Blair

Shortly after news broke of Baena’s passing, the Cruel Intentions star made a touching comment on Plaza’s most recent Instagram post.

“No words can touch this painful time,” she wrote at the time. “Only love and strength and support from everyone. I am so sorry.”

The Saturday Night Live alum posted a carousel of photos featuring Breana on her Instagram, tagging the late screenwriter and posting a broken heart emoji. Plaza was featured in several of the images, including a photo of Shannon and The White Lotus star posing for the camera and Plaza sitting beside her late husband.

Brie, actress Olivia Munn, and other celebrities posted broken emojis (including a heart and a broken heart emoji) in the comments section of Shannon’s post.

Julia Fox

The actress and fashion influencer posted a short but sweet message to Plaza’s latest Instagram post, writing, “Sending you so much love” and posting a dove emoji.

Alison Brie

Brie worked on various projects alongside Plaza and her late husband, including the film Joshy.

“Jeff [came] to the set of Community in our sixth season and asked me to play a small role in his film, Joshy,” Brie recalled of working with Baena during a 2022 interview with Collider. “There was no script for that. All of his films that I’ve been involved with, prior to this one, were fully improvised. So, he came to my dressing [room]. We set a meeting, and he came to meet me. … I knew a lot of the cast members in that movie. Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate and Adam Pally were friends of mine. I just thought, “Yeah, that sounds fun to do.” It was one day. I’m in two scenes in that movie. I thought the story was cool. And then, it just grew from there.”

On Sunday, January 5, Brie shared a series of photographs to her Instagram Stories featuring the late filmmaker, including photos of the two posing for the camera. On the first photograph, she posted a broken heart emoji.

Alison Brie is mourning the death of frequent collaborator and friend, Jeff Baena.

Brie, 42, shared a series of pictures of the pair together via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 5. In the first image, Brie smiled as she looked at Baena while he spoke at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 for Horse Girl. (Brie and Baeana co-wrote and co-produced the Netflix film, which she starred in and he directed.)

While sharing the photo via social media on Sunday, Brie added a broken heart emoji over the image. In another photo, Brie and Baena wrapped their arms around each other while in an additional pic she leaned against him as they sat on a couch.

“Rest in peace my friend,” she wrote over another image of the twosome smiling.

One day before Brie’s upload, Us Weekly confirmed that Baena died by suicide at age 47. Baena is survived by his wife, Aubrey Plaza, who has yet to publicly address his death.

Prior to his death, Baena wrote and directed a series of Indie TV shows and films — several of which starred Brie. While reflecting on their friendship in 2022, Brie revealed that she and her husband, Dave Franco, are neighbors with Baena and Plaza, 40.

“Dave and I lived quite close to Jeff and Aubrey. Jeff and I started hiking together pretty regularly, just as buddies, and during these long hikes, we would talk about different ideas,” Brie recalled to Collider. “Eventually, I felt comfortable enough with him to talk to him about my idea for Horse Girl, which we co-wrote and co-produced together. That was such a good experience.”

After Horsegirl, Brie said Baena approached her for another film, 2022’s Spin Me Round. The twosome cowrote the romantic comedy together, which Brie starred in alongside Plaza.

“And then, he came to me and said, ‘Well, I have this idea that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.’ That led to this,” she explained to the outlet. “It’s all been a pretty organic evolution.

While promoting the film in August 2022, Baena gushed over his collaborative connection with Brie. “It’s an insane benefit to have the person that you’re collaborating with on all fronts also be on the other side of the camera,” Baena told AV Club. “Because in addition to understanding, obviously, where the script is coming from and what the intention is, they can also set the tone in terms of acting.”

Andrew Garfield Makes Us Feel Less Guilty for Loving ‘Too Hot to Handle’

Andrew Garfield Explains Why ‘Too Hot to Handle’ Turns Into 'A Very Beautiful Thing'

Andrew Garfield being a closet fan of Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle makes Us feel less guilty about binge-watching every season.

“My guilty pleasure is Too Hot to Handle on Netflix,” Garfield, 41, said in his Friday, January 3, profile for W magazine. “F—, it’s really good. Sorry, this is like my pitch for people who haven’t seen Too Hot to Handle.

He continued, “So, they get to the island and they’re like, ‘Woo!’ in their swimming costumes. … Then, like a day goes by and they have a party, maybe a couple of them will make out, maybe there’ll be some fellatio, I don’t know, like, it’s up to them. And then it’s revealed to them they are in fact on Too Hot to Handle.”

Garfield goes on to explain that there is a “prize pot of money” that contestants — described by host Desiree Burch as sex-crazed singles who aren’t interested in securing anything remotely resembling a long-term relationship — only win “if [they] don’t f— each other.”

Andrew Garfield Questions If On-Set Romances Can Actually Work

“It’s run by this Alexa kind of robot figure [named Lana], and she says like, ‘You’ve all been selected because you are terrified of intimacy and you are terrified of making true emotional connections. You will be here for a week, and if you do anything physically with each other that is not born out of a true emotional connection, you will be fined,’”

Garfield explained, putting on his best robotic Lana voice. “Suddenly, it’s like all these really horny [and] maybe sex-addicted people are having to not do anything sexual unless they are given permission by Alana.”

According to Garfield, it becomes an “amazing thing” when each couple begins to actually open up.

“It’s beautiful,” he mused. “And you see these people start to reveal their traumas and start to reveal that they haven’t trusted men because of a trauma in their family life or in a previous relationship. Guys who are just bro’d out that they can’t access their hearts because of the hurt [they’ve felt] and suddenly they’re softening and they’re vulnerable and, of course, they’re terrified of doing it.”

Garfield added, “Then, of course, everyone around them is very encouraging and it becomes a very beautiful thing.”

Netflix has aired six seasons of the dating show since its April 2020 debut. A handful of couples who have appeared on the prorgam are still together, including season 2’s Emily Miller and Cam Holmes, who welcomed son Reggie in 2024.

Bri Balram and Demari Davis, for their part, won season 6, which aired in August 2024.

“We actually have not got paid yet,” Balram,” 26, told Us Weekly exclusively at the time. “They didn’t want us to go, like, elope and spend the money, so we haven’t got paid yet.”

It is not known whether Balram and Davis, 27, have received their prize money yet, but they are still a couple.

Too Hot to Handle is streaming on Netflix.
